30.05.2021 | Sunday
There was a two week off in my university (and most colleges and schools across India) at the beginning of May, due to the distress among people because of the virus. Now that college has been in full swing again, my lab reports were piled up. I completed those today and submitted just before the deadline. Phew...
In other news, my result for 5th sem was declared and I secured an 8.9 gpa. I feel happy and worthy again because I’m a fool who attaches her self-worth to academic performance.

Took a trip to Rockport, MA this weekend to enjoy the last bits of summer before the New England winter starts creeping in (the 4 seasons in New England are going back to winter, winter, leaving winter, and summer)

frost, crow, maize
frost - if you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say?
I would tell my (high school) self to literally just have fun and break rules because none of them matter when you’re in high school. I wasted so much energy trying to be productive and good during a time in which there were no consequences if I wasn’t !!! What I wouldn’t give to go back and not turn in papers on time to give myself a break!!!
crow - which school subject do you wish you had an aptitude for?
I don’t think I’m super BAD at anything, but I wish I LIKED physics or calculus or something like that so I could enjoy doing it all the time lmao.
maize - share the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a stranger on the street.
Okay so um, I go out a lot at night so there are several weird experiences. One time I ran into my old roommate (that I lived with for a whole year) on the main street by my campus, and we just said hi and nothing else, but we continued to walk next to each other the whole way down the street. Not super WEIRD but uh, super awkward to say the least.
((Also sorry for the late reply, I never checked bc no one ever sends me asks lmao. Lots of love tho))

85/100 days of productivity — 12.09.18
This week will be busy with preparing my application to scholarship grants. Hopefully I get some stuff that allows me to pay more health care for my fibromyalgia and allows me to feel better in general!

telling my best friend about a bookfest and her immediately getting a bus ticket to come down and see me (and go to the bookfest but also me) with no hesitation whatsoever really means a lot to me and i’m so excited to see her
(thank you so much!)

I was tagged by my good friend @purenerd !!
Rules: Answer these 15 questions and then tag 10 people.
1. What is your degree / favorite subject?
I’m majoring in Information Technology and Informatics (specifically, I’m studying Web Design), minoring in Creative Writing, and getting a certificate in Recording Arts!! My interests are all over the place.
2. Where are you from?
I’m from the United States and I live in the Eastern time zone. That’s as specific as I’m willing to get, sorry!!
3. What motivates you to study?
I’m motivated by the people I look up to, by my friends, and by myself. The people I look up to remind me that it takes hard work to achieve goals and that nothing is easy but anything is possible as long as I work hard. My friends remind me that I can get through whatever seemingly impossible task is in front of me and support me at my worst and my best. I remind myself that I’m finally studying what I love, something I’ve dreamed for a long time, and that there’s so much ahead of me that I can accomplish as long as I keep doing my best and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. And, well, there’s also the fact that I have to keep a pretty high GPA to stay in my program. At the end of the day, though, I love what I’m studying and even though it’s difficult at times, I just remind myself of my goals, that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now, and that I should never give up.
4. What do you love about yourself?
I love that I dream really big and that when I care about something, I really care about something. I feel very strongly about what I love, and it’s often that passion that motivates me to get stuff done.
5. What time do you do your best studying?
Anytime from early afternoon to early evening.
6. What is your favorite TV show?
Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place... basically anything Mike Schur writes.
7. Best self-care tip for exam season.
As important as it is to spend a lot of time studying, make sure you also take the time to do something for yourself, whether it be watching a movie you love, hanging out with friends, or taking a nap!! It’ll make exam season much less dreadful and refresh your brain before you study some more. Also, make sure you sleep enough and eat well.
8. Do you listen to music when you study?
Usually, yes. Music is what makes studying and doing homework more fun for me. Most of the time I just put one of my playlists or my whole Spotify library on shuffle, but sometimes I’ll listen to a specific album. There are occasionally times when I’ll get too overwhelmed for music and just need to work in silence, but that doesn’t happen too often. And, of course, when I’m working with friends around, I don’t put headphones in.
9. What is your favorite book?
Oh, gosh. I’m afraid to even try to answer this question!! I guess if I had to narrow it down to a few, I’d choose Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, the Shades of Magic series by V. E. Schwab, and What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. Yes, I’ve read it. Yes, it’s perfect. Yes, you should absolutely get it once it comes out.
10. Where do you do your best studying?
Either in the library or in my room.
11. What do you get complimented on often?
I don’t know? Sometimes I get complimented on my handwriting, though it really isn’t that great. My friends tell me I can write well, though I don’t share my writing with other people very often.
12. Where would you like to live in the future?
NEW. YORK. CITY. I’ve spent so much time there over the course of my life, and it really has everything I need: musical theater (and regular theater), concerts, good food, good bookstores, public transportation (I hate driving and would much rather depend on my own two legs and the subway to get around), and more! There are also so many opportunities there for web design, writing, and music production, so I could pursue any and all of those without having to move around. What’s funny is that if you’d asked me this same question a year ago, I would have said Los Angeles. What’s even funnier is that until a few years ago, I HATED going to New York City since I consistently got sick every single time I went. Who knows where I’ll actually end up, but as of now, New York City is the goal.
13. How long have you been active on your studyblr?
I’ve had this blog since March 21, 2016, but I haven’t been the most consistent with posting on it. My goal for this year is to be more active both here and on my new studygram : )
14. Favorite way to spend study breaks?
I love watching TV, writing, reading, and hanging out with my friends.
15. What is your favorite study snack?
I love pretzels and Cheez-Its, though I’m trying to get out of the habit of eating while I’m studying.
I tag: @tiredstudyying, @studybasil, @colbystudies, @studysmiley, @arielsstudies, @studycaffe, @studybutch, @plantsandcoffeestudyblr, @studying-simply, and @adriana-studies.

hello 😅
So I’ve been away from tumblr yet again, therefore, here is a life update that no one asked for. I’ll be taking online classes for 5th semester starting from 20.07 and for some reason I’m totally excited for that so, I guess I will try to post more original content. I finished my summer training though a presentation is still due which is not so exciting.
The books that I read in the past couple of weeks are Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury and Sourdough by Robin Sloan. Also, I finished watching the anime Hyouka.

Here’s the 7th and final part of my Studyblr University Orientation Week.
The first day of class is stressful for everyone, even the upper year students. Here are some tips to help make it as easy as possible for you.
Know where you’re going. Check your schedule the night before and know what classroom you’re in. If possible, go to it before the first day so that you know how to get there. If not, look for a map of your campus online (you also may have been given one during orientation).
Pack your bag the night before. That way you won’t be scrambling to find a pencil two minutes before you leave and can instead be panicking about making friends.
Greet the people sitting next to you. They could be potential new friends or study buddies. It may also help you feel more relaxed if the person next to you isn’t a complete stranger.
Look over the syllabus before the first class. That way you won’t be surprised when you find out that the research paper is worth 50% of your final mark.
Wear an outfit that you feel confident in. I know it’s cliched, and you don’t have to pick it out the night before, but wearing clothes that are comfortable/you feel good in may help to relieve some of your nerves.
Your first class will most likely just be the prof going over the syllabus and answering questions about themselves or the course. Don’t worry about knowing everything yet.
There will probably be one smug jackass who acts like they already do know everything. Ignore them. They either don’t know everything and just want to seem smart or they’re a showy jerk. Either way, they aren’t worth your time or anxiety over being smart enough to be here. You’re obviously smart enough if you’re here.
This isn’t a first day specific thing but: For many of you this will be your first time seeing service dogs. This is just a friendly reminder not to touch them without their owner’s permission or talk to them in a cutesy voice. It can distract them from doing their job or even undo the training.
Similarly to the above, this may be your first time meeting someone in a wheelchair. Don’t touch someone’s wheelchair unless they have given you permission to. The chair is an extension of themselves and touching it or moving them without their permission is really rude. (If I’ve said something weird here, please let me know as I am able-bodied.)
Don’t feel scared if you don’t know anyone in your class yet. Most people don’t and they’ll be more than willing to befriend you.
Don’t feel weird about eating alone. Lots of people do it. If you’re worried about looking or feeling awkward, bring a book or look at something on your phone.
Wait a few days to buy your textbooks. Compare the prices of new and used books at your university’s bookstore to the prices of students reselling their old textbooks. You can usually get a pretty decent deal by shopping around online. (You may also find out that something’s only recommended reading)
Find a seat that you like. A lot of the time, particularly in smaller classes, this will end up being your seat for the rest of the year.
Take a deep breath. You’ve got this.
