RSA- Wait wasn’t Fuzzclaw decided to be the mascot. Also yes with Rowan’s favorite animal being cats, she has such good taste! I mentioned that the school is near her family farm and I forgot to say that I originally pictured it being on an island which would be possible depending on where the farm is. The island would be close to the coastline and students could take boats to reach the island. Younger kids would be supervised though I don’t know which teachers would do so.

RSA- In my last ask, I talked about the school being on an island. Rowan would enchant the water around the island so that any threats would be pushed back out. Of course there’s the fact that flight is possible thanks to brooms but Rowan’s smart enough to find a solution to this. Maybe Tonks and Talbott look out for any aerial problems. Okay but the idea of those two interacting by themselves, that would be great I love them both.

OMG PLEASE auror buddies !!! i do love the idea of tonks and talbott being co workers and interacting bc APPARENTLY jc wont give us much npc interaction🙄🙄

RSA- Genderfluid Rowan and them helping students who are figuring out their own gender identity. Other adults calling them “Mr. Khanna/ Mrs. Khanna” although when he’s at the school he’d insist on “Professor Khanna.” It makes her seem more professional. On a similar note, what does Cherry call her parents? Mina just uses her mom’s actual name since she likes to be on a first name basis with everyone so she’d join in with Ashok in calling Ro by his first name. Also Ashok goes to the school now.

we LOVE professor khanna. its cool, its professional, and not tied to any gender😌 little cherry was taught to call adel momma and rowan mommy to differentiate between them, but growing up she would just stick to “mom” for both of them. theyll just have to figure out who shes referring to LMAOO also mina is so valid !!! ashok would go to the school except that by the time the school was built, he would have graduated i think ?? he still has two years of school after the second war at least.

RSA- so I just realized that Cherry would be older than Mina since Mina was born in November, 2003. The other kids assume that Mina is older at first since she’s a tall girl (she gets that from Talbott). Speaking of her parents, both wanted her to be an animagus but that never happened. They’re still proud of her of course. Also Rowan and Cherry as animagi (is that the plural version?)!!! I think Ro would be a cat.

RSA-the teachers and what they do for the summer: JT runs an animal shelter for both regular animals and creatures. I mentioned earlier than her and Mina visit JT’s dad. Her and ismelda are related (they both pretended not to know each other when they were kids) so they visit her as well. Badeea travels the world to find different things to paint. Chiara helps Jae with his restaurant. Idk if she can cook so maybe she’s a waitress. I still don’t know what type of restaurant it would be though.

ohhh i love these !!! jt and ismelda being related👀👀 im thinking it could be a mcdonalds level restaurant thats popular among the wizarding world which gains him more profit

RSA- Merula and Ben as co-teachers. At first some of their friends expected it to go wrong. (Tulip sat in on their first class together with popcorn) but they end up working really well together. Both calm down as they get older and have more experience and the students are usually surprised when they find out they weren’t always like that. COMC classes about dragons and Charlie visiting to help teach about them (he also helps with the sports teams). Liz handles the more dangerous creatures.

RSA- Quidditch at the school! Rowan coming to congratulate both teams and being able to tell them stuff about quidditch and its history. Eventually the students make their own version of quidditch for the non-wizard kids. Face paint kid as the quidditch coach. They mentioned once that they dislike their name and that’s bc they’re non-binary so once Khanna Academy becomes a thing, they’ve decided on a name. Tonks is also non-binary and uses primarily she/they pronouns. Thoughts on tulip/tonks?

RSA- so I had this au where a witch’s hair would turn a different color at some point in their life and I’m thinking about it in this au. Merula was the first in her year and she definitely bragged about it, then Rowan whose hair turned blue at the ends and Penny though the yellow stripe just blends in with her blonde hair. JT’s didn’t change until her college years so it was a surprise when Mina’s hair turned magenta at the ends when she was 13. Cherry was the first person she showed.

klance - 6 sheith - 5 shance - 5 katt - 4 heith - 3 pallura - 2 and one each of plance, kallura, allurance, shatt, shkatt, kidge, kidgance, and shunk. and keiths parents lol. let it never be said i am not a multishipper.

and i know gen isnt a ship but it tied with klance at 6 (plus whatevers in the prompt collection) which was a surprise

Character breakdown: man if theres a way to get ao3 to show me ALL the stats, i dont know it. but.

keith - 25 (shocker) shiro - 23 lance - 21 pidge - 17 hunk - 16 allura - 12 matt - 12 and then coran and sam are at 4, and zarkon ats 3 and presumably many others are at 3 or less

Characters that had the main focus: well ~9 were from keiths pov, and ~5 each from shiro and lances povs. i think i also had ~5 from multiple points of view. its safe to say that keith has my heart tho lol

Specifics:

Best/worst title? Best title: i still like “at the end of many worlds.” i weirdly still like “Blackbird” too even if it has nothing to do with anything... Worst title: “Rest.” :/ also like all of the abandoned wips bc i didnt care. and “Keith & Lance's Island Adventure.″ some of my zine fic titles were also... bad. im bad at titles.

Best/worst first line?

Best: Keith & Lance's Island Adventure. ok the title is bad but this line? this really sets the tone for whole fic. you know what youre getting yourself into here.

When Pidge invited Keith to a fully-funded graduation party aboard the Holt family boat (“the smaller one, anyway,” she’d said), this is not exactly what he'd pictured: three of them standing on a wobbly dock, packed bags at their feet, sky cloudy and gray, while the Holt siblings stand on a little ledge off the back of the boat and deny entry.

Worst: ive got two for this lol

at the end of many worlds: even i have to read this a couple times to figure out what i was trying to say. at least you know youre in for pain...

Keith’s mother shows up to interrupt movie night often enough that, this time, Keith almost doesn’t realize anything’s wrong. Almost, because she’s silhouetted by the movie, but she’s clutching her arm and panting for breath, and in the thin edge of light around her he sees a wet and vibrant red.

Divergence: because all your friends being dead is EXACTLY like losing at dodgeball. yeah, theres a reason i abandoned this one.

Hunk always hated playing dodgeball. Not because he was bad at it--though he was--but because he always ended up the last one standing, and therefore the only target for the entire other team. It was due to a tendency to hang unnoticed in the back, he knew, but that didn't change the sickening, empty feeling of looking around and realizing there's no one left but him, and there's no way he can win. Only wait for the inevitable.

This, Hunk decides, is a lot like that, only, like, a billion times worse.

Best/worst last line?

Best: The Pining-Plant. there are a few others that were cute too but this one is also good out of context so

And then the pod swishes open and he's scrambling to catch Pidge as she stumbles out. She clings to his arms to steady herself and his heart swells.

"Falling for me again, huh?" he asks, and she groans loudly.

"Let me go, I'm getting back in the pod," she says, and he laughs. He doesn't let go, and neither does she.

Worst: if im bad at titles, im worse at endings. most are bad. i suspect the ending to “Rest” is terrible but i cant bring myself to even open that shit again so: Believe Me. if weather were a recurring theme in this fic, itd be fine, but as is its just... a weird note to end the fic on lmao

Hunk rocks back on his heels. "We aren't counting this as our official first date, right?"

"I dunno," Keith says, and now he smiles at the rain instead of frowning. It shows no sign of easing up, but whatever—they're soaked anyway. "This seems pretty good to me."

“...All right.” If nothing else, it’ll make a good story. And, Hunk had to admit—he’s pretty happy with how it’s turned out, rain and all.

But next time, he's double-checking the forecast, just in case.

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?

more than i expected! considering ive been in grad school all year!! i wrote about the same amount wordcount-wise in 2017 which i spent only half in school so. idk how i managed it.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?

the anonymous fic was a surprise but im not gonna talk about that lol. otherwise... nah, its all been my usual stuff.

What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.

blackbird, probably. i like working on that one. summer heat was also fun, id sort of forgotten about it bc it was a zine fic but coming back to it, i really liked it. likewise with third time’s the charm. and i like t6p a lot even if i kinda hate drawing for it :’)

"Really?" he asks breathlessly.

"Yeah," Keith says, and maybe he should've prepared something to say, that's a thing people do, right? Hell, he's winging it. "I know we can't stay here on Earth forever, 'cause we're paladins, and there's still stuff out there we gotta do. And I know you probably want to stay because this is your home—but you're my home, and if we gotta go, at least you'll have me, good or bad." He grins crookedly. "Or rocket science. Whatever happens, I'll be there."

Hardest story to write?

well t6p gets a shoutout, but its not the writing thats the hard part for that. uhhh ive struggled with parts of blackbird. i remember k&l’s island adventure giving me a LOT of trouble, i think i posted late lol

Easiest/most fun story to write?

anything short uhhh for all the infinite realities, i kind of just sat down the other day (actually i was in bed but) and was like “im gonna write this” and then in the morning i just sat down and wrote it in one go. i dunno if id call it fun, but it was easy. t6p is super fun to write but, as mentioned, drawing it sucks.

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

no... my perceptions probably have shifted but not due to anything i wrote in particular. i did talk myself into liking allurance with a prompt fill, though, but im not sure that was 2018...

Most overdue story?

all the infinite realities lmao. at the end of many worlds needed that happy ending. and another shoutout to t6p, because thats been going on over a year and im still nowhere.

does posting my abandoned wips count? ive still got some of those hanging around... blackbird was a bit of a risk bc my last longfic was written while i was unemployed and out of school, so like i had the time for it, and now i kinda dont. still chugging tho. ateomw b/c of all the death but it turns out i really like writing whump woops. and writing any sort of kissing always feels like a risk bc i suck at it but im getting better lol... i hope...

ok so ....................... h2o conspiracy theory time even tho its been off the air for like 354334 years

max hamilton is charlotte’s grandfather (and by extension annette watsford’s dad but i digress)

exhibit A:

theres no denying the physical resemblance between charlotte and max. they look look super related with the red hair, dark eyes, similar features etc. of course we know that annette looks like this:

i.e not very much like max, but consider the fact that most blonde women colour their hair, and that many redheads do in fact choose to dye their hair blonde. also the actor who plays her, tiffany lamb, has more brown/auburn hair irl so we can absolutely make the case for annette not being a natural blonde !

but hey, lets say she is. who else in the main cast has blonde hair? who also happens to have extremely close connections with max? whos life literally has exact parallels with the experiences of max, to the point that an entire seasons arc is focused on him not repeating maxs mistakes?

this guy right here. could the writers have deliberately casted an actor with blonde hair for gracie’s daughter, and illustrated extensive parallels between max and our fav blonde scientist, to tell the audience that max is actually annette’s father and charlotte’s grandfather??? i think we know the answer

now for exhibit B, the timeline

louise, julia, and gracie became mermaids in 1955 at aged 15. we know that, 50 years prior to the events of season 2 (lets say 50 years before 2008 bc thats when the final ep was aired), the planetary alignment occurred. gracie and max broke up, she lost her tail, and little is known of her whereabouts afterward other than that she and the other girls lose contact and she has a child. the h2o wiki profers that she had an unnamed husband but since it was never mentioned in canon im rejecting this outright and offering an alternative theory:

gracie is 18 or so when she falls pregnant with max’s baby. they live in a conservative time, and she is at risk of being disowned by her parents. she has cut all ties with her loved ones by now anyway, so she decides to leave the gold coast after graduation and have the baby in secret (bear in mind like .......... we know so so little about gracies character. max called her strong willed and impulsive so lets for a second consider that someone who would give up being a mermaid would also be the type of person skip town + have her kid out of wedlock so as not to risk ostracisation)

maybe she meets a nice guy whose last name is watsford, they hit it off, and she passes off the baby as his. maybe she tells whoever makes out annette’s birth cert that she has some fictional father whose last name is watsford. maybe annette’s last name is watsford because she married a dude called watsford, but there is no mention of charlotte’s father, or indeed annettes, in canon at all whatsoever so im kind of rejecting it. also arent ppl who grow up without strong paternal figures more likely to have unsuccessful relationships w men themselves?? which would explain charlottes absent father ???

but where does that leave annette??

but consider for a second that annette is born in 1958. that would make her fifty years old by the time season 2 airs, as opposed to 42-3. again may i emphasise that annette watsfords age is never stated in canon so in all actuality she could easily be like 50. tiffany lamb was 42 in 2008 so the writers may have been merely trying to match the role to the actors age

tldr; its 2am and im writing a fic where max is charlottes grandfather and i need to confirm this crack theory to myself to make it seem somewhat plausible

so this is basically my mood. its been my mood for a really long time:( I'm not typing this attention from all 11 of my followers💀 I'm typing this bc I have to get it out. journaling isn't enough. so basically, since freshman year, I've gone through bouts of some seriousness sadness. I dont want to say depression bc I wasn't diagnosed with it, but for all I know I am... anyways, I'm just sad. I was put in alternative school for a little bit because I didn't something totally stupid but I learned my lesson. 6 weeks away from my friends was a good punishment. anyways, I went back to regular school on Jan. 8... I was excited to see all my friends but they didn't really share quite the same enthusiasm. I shrugged it off.. I mean I have classes with them so not a big deal, right? I'd get to sit with them during class. we could gab and catch up then.... but it didn't really turn out that way. some people that I thought were some of my closest friends, barely talk to me now. maybe its bc I was gone for basically 2 months, and we just drifted apart from each other. I'm starting to get closer to the person that I considered my first friend at my new school after I moved, again. that does make me happy. I've missed her so much. but I've also gone thru some other shit. in July 2017, my best friend decided to cut ties with me a week before school was to start up again. she gave me no explanation. it hurt. it hurt so much. my boyfriend had just broken up with me exactly a week before, and i didnt even bat an eyelash... but when she told me she thought itd be best if we just werent friends anymore, i froze. i felt numb. she was my best friend. it was supposed to be us against the world... i guess not. i cried a lot. i cried for the first time in months. i had been doing pretty okay, mental health-wise, and then she just randomly did that...and now, almost half a year later, it still hurts. I didn't get closure and probably won't, now. but also, in march 2017, I got drunk for the first time. the boy that had broken my little sophomore heart, was at the same get together I was. it was at my friends house and he was her brothers friend... of course he was going to be there. but anyways, I got drunk. I got sad bc me and him were joking around and acting like pals, but we were intoxicated so it made sense. anyways, I quietly got upset bc I realized. how much things had changed between us. I mean, we were juniors in high school and we went almost that entire year without talking to each other. we were such good friends and then he ditched me for his new gf... he did me dirty but I still wanted him- how pathetic. anyways, I'm off topic so at the party, I, drunkenly, confronted him about it and I cried (*facepalms*). he said we were still friends, but were not. its not the same. we just go to the same school and maybe have a few classes together?? its not the same. but anyways, i told him everything that i had been thinking for that past year, and i got my closure...and I didn't want to admit it back then because how could I have known? I had no experience. I didn't know what it felt like... but now, I'm pretty sure I loved him. and I think a part of me still does, so much for that closure. so yeah, I think I'm still in love with the boy who left me for another girl, even after I told him I liked him and he told me he liked me back. that's what fucked me up the most. that little bit of hope fucked me up. and now we're gonna graduate in may and I won't see him probably ever again. we're both going in different directions. he's going into the airforce and I'm going into the army and he's still with that bitch lmao jk she's not a bitch but I have a strong distaste for her since January 2016. ever since then, I pretty much figured I wouldn't ever have a bf during hs. I briefly had one over summer 2017, but it was more of a fling. and then the guy that I had liked for a short time, asked me out in august 2017.... and I wanted so badly to say yes, because yes! he's cute and ambitious!! but, he has a kid. a whole baby momma who is also in my grade. I couldn't. I wanted so badly to say yes. I wanted to kiss him on the mouth and hold hands with him and just say yes! but I didn't... later in September, a little scandal broke that I was trying to break up the lovely couple... which I wasn't.... I mean it wasn't my fault that he caught feelings.... but yep so that happened.. I think those were the main parts of 2017 tbh. sorry, I'm just blabbering on, but its nice to get this out... so imma continue not tryna sound conceited, but i think I'm easily liked... like whats not to like about me? I'm smart, athletic, funny, and not ugly. maybe I'm on the chubbier side, but I'm not pushing the limits by any means. and I know guys have had "crushes" on me. I mean 4 guys have told me that the like[d] me in my entire lifetime, that plus I can sorta tell when a guy dropping hints. so its not like I'm driving boys away. I've had one boyfriend, which was the fling so I barely consider him an actual relationship but we did make it official so ig I have to claim him... but anyways, ig no one wants me?? that worries me. I'm gonna graduate and go into the real world soon with no relationship experience other than how to make out (not even French kiss tho!!!) and its been awhile since that so idek if ik how to do that anymore. (btw I had my first kiss with fling-boy. April 2017, just a few days before my 17th birthday, so you can understand that just about only 3 months of sucking face only every other weekend is not a enough time to become an expert).... so yep. no experience, at all. I'm still a virgin too. bro I gtg. jk, I want my first time to be meaningful, so I'm not putting out to just any random guy.... but okay thats all I've been thinking about lately.. its a lot I know, but eh... I'm still feeling x( but maybe just a little less

since im workin on a animation thing w/em i thought i Might as Well talk abt fay and lorna n their story a lil bit ?? sure

its under the cut :0

Alllrighty so hey guys for those of you unfamiliar here are the ocs im talkin abt Fay + Lorna

For starters, they run a diner together in a small sleepy midwestern town ( part of my drive to do more stories based on the places i have lived around ) and are almost obnoxiously in love w/each other. They both have a sort of immortality granted to them by a shadowy entity in return for the life they harvest for it. While some devils want for souls, this thing thrives off the life not lived- the more promising a persons future the better. Where that fails, its second fav thing is corruption.

Fay was given a chance after murdering an abusive person in her life when she was abt 19 in the late 30s/40s ( I havent 100% decided ). She kept up running her diner even after being offered a way out of town bc she cares about the people in her town a lot. No one really questions it, theres this assumption its a family business- if anyone ever asks she just passes it off as she looks like her grandmother and so on. Shes really protective of girls she think might b in the same situation as her tho and thats one of the rare occasions she will break her ‘only outsiders’ rule.

Lorna struggled with mental health stuff through her teens and used academics as a way to cope. She never did exceptionally well despite trying hard and ended up back home after graduating from college with no job prospects and a particularly bad downswing in her mental health. She was unable to end her own life despite many attempts that would have been successful had a diff Unknown entity not given her the ability to recover from any fatal wounds. Lorna runs away from home once she realises ‘wow i cant die’ and it goes a little groun/dhog day with attempts to kill herself until she winds up in Fay’s cafe.

Fay doesnt harm anyone that lives in their town or those who farm the surrounding lands bc like i said she cares abt them all too much ( she is Greatly entertained by how families change over the generations ?? ) so visitors with no ties to people there are her main targets. Lorna was of course, a visitor with no connections. ( it would be such a shame to get rid of someone so cute tho, fay was v relieved that lorna got to stick around )

she is offered a chance to be able to die finally by the shadowy thing and lorna accepts Immediately. there is a certain number to be reached more or less ??

its kind of like... lorna still wants to die but after a while, living is a little easier having someone like fay around ;v;

also its set in a super ambiguous late 90s/early 00s time period ! much like esc’s story hah hah ( tho ig their story is more mid to late 00s/early 10s but whatever ). it helps with some of the scenarios and some of the overall feel ?? also i think fay would spend her whole day watching cat vide/os on her phone if she had a smartphon/e lol (’ARENT THEY CUTE!!’ ‘we are awfully busy-’ ‘HIS LIL TONGUE!! LORNA!! HIS TONGUE!! LOOK!’ )

im not that great at summarizing stuff but this is at least Sort of what they are about ! their backstory at least :’33
