OC Name Meanings
Thank you so much for the tag @elveny! Your answers were so good and thoughtful that I feel like mine are going to be so dumb in comparison LMAO.
Rules: Search and post the meaning of your OC’s name (if you made their name up or they go by a nickname, post an explanation of how it came to you)! bonus if you can find something for their last name too.
*********
All right [cracks knuckles] I'll start from the top.
Mass Effect (original trilogy): Commander Adriana Shepard. I named her after my husband because he introduced me to the game. NOT VERY ORIGINAL, but named with love? 🤣
Mass Effect Andromeda: Mara Ryder. I honestly cannot remember why I chose this name for her. Vibes, probably? I often just pick a name that "feels" right...
Dragon Age Inquisition: okay, I made up sooo many fucking Lavellans, and when I first started writing, most of them were just named after Game of Thrones characters. This includes Elia, Arya, and Lyanna.
(By now, you may have noticed that all my OCs have names ending in "a". I do like names ending in "a." I am consistent that way. 😂)
Athera Lavellan is the DA:I OC whose name is the most thought-out. I borrowed it from FenxShiral's Elvhen book of names, and it means 'part of a dream', which thematically tied into her romance with Abelas.
But then there's Tamaris, which is another name that I chose because of vibes (it "felt right"). I will admit that I know someone named Tamaris and I love the name, but I was also surprised to find that this is coincidentally a name from FenxShiral's name dictionary - a fact that I used in my fic of her and Felassan.
Dragon Age 2: Rynne Hawke. Her name was also chosen for vibes; 'Rynne' struck me as a kind of fun, playful name. I think in-world, she is named after a great-aunt. (It's been a while since I revisited her, I think this is the lore. 🤣)
Dragon Age Origins: Yara Mahariel. BACK TO THE TRIED AND TRUE METHOD OF USING GAME OF THRONES NAMES. 🤣💀
Baldur's Gate 3: my main Tav is Eilaena Valderol, aka Brynn Bladetongue. THIS WAS THE NAME I THOUGHT ABOUT THE MOST. Her birth name, Eilaena, is a drow name broadly inspired by the goddess Eilistraee. Her last name is her mother's name, which I used a D&D name generator to come up with. Her criminal alias, Brynn , was borrowed from an adventurer she admired who was a regular at the theater-tavern where she grew up. 'Bladetongue' is a stagename-like surname that she came up with; in her words, it's masturbatory (flattering herself for her silver tongue), and she likes the alliteration. She's half-wood elf/half-drow, and she purposely gave herself a human-sounding alias to fuck with people LOL.
My other BG3 OC is Tavanah. I liked the idea of using the default "non-special" name of 'Tav', but making it special by having her romance, Rolan, be the only one who calls her by her full name.
Tagging forward: once again, to genuinely anyone who wants to play!!! But let's start with @seabirdsong @iamcayc @novarunestone @elinorbard @crackinglamb @johaerys-writes @alyssalenko @vorchagirl @hollyand-writes

Danganronpa Kirigiri - List of Detective Library members & their monster reps
In Danganronpa Kirigiri, the Triple Zero detectives of the Detective Library were based upon/referenced four types of monsters in fiction: ghost, werewolf, vampire and doppleganger. I always thought that was a pretty cool choice for Kitayama to go down and go to thinking what other types of monsters the other detectives would represent.
Which is basically what below is - a list of every named Detective Library member and monster would best fit them, in book order. As well as who represents the four monsters I mentioned above.
Main Duo:
Kyoko Kirigiri - Angel of Death (Now for Kyoko's monster I wanted something that best represents Kyoko's relation with Death and, ultimately her benevolent nature behind her stonefaced mask. So I chose her as the metaphorical Angel of Death - someone who brings about the end of those who have Fallen by uncovering the truth behind their misdeeds. Yet, in doing so, is also saving lives of those that were in danger because of the Fallen's actions. She also attends a religious school so it ties back well with those origins.
Yui Samidare - Powers (A type of angel in Christian theology and apart of the Middle Order of angels. Her whole thing is being a detective to protect others from evil and Powers are types of angels that hold the power to dispel or defeat evil. Also calls back to Yui being from a religious school. If I had to choose something else, I'd make Yui a guardian angel to match Kyoko being an angel of death. But, for reasons below, decided to forego it to complete another set )
DRK1:
Kou Inuzuka - Hellhound (Kou surname 'Inuzaka' contains the word for dog in Japanese, and Kou himself is an arsonist. Of the reps, I think this is one of the most fitting I've come up with)
Eigo Amino - Robot (Eigo is said to have zero presence or stands out, and he's a detective that poses as a businessman AKA a cog in a machine of office life. So I figured a robot was the best thing to compare him to)
Shiita Enbi - Zombie (Based upon the whole deal with him being dead all along, and also Tadashi's deal with having no legs, so kind of shambling about, reminds me of those types of zombies in horror games or shows)
Johnny Arp - Werewolf (From DRK Vol 6 - referred to heavily with wolfish traits or personality)
Gekka Ryuzoji - Vampire (From his design & titles; he's heavily based upon Count Dracula from the titular novel)
Rei Mikagami - Ghost (Comes from his epithet of 'Ghost in the Mirror' and his own ghostly ability to seemingly disappear from the scene with ease. Honorary mention goes to 'unicorn' given that's what his alias, Licorne, means in French).
DRK2:
Taehime Uozumi - Mermaid (Made her mermaid given her surname, Uozumi, is literally 'sleeping with the fishes'...and, okay, the pun with her fake profession was too tempting to pass up)
Suisei Nanamura - Father Time (Suisei is obsessed with time and managing it, so making him Father Time seemed pretty natural
Mikado Shinsen - Doppleganger (From his epithet, the Variationist, and skills as a master of disguise. Honorary mention goes to him being referred to as a Shinigami/Reaper by Chage and the connection he does have with the dead)
DRK 3
Hajiki Yaki - Devil (His DSC card is 666 which is considered a devilish number in Abrahamic religon, and his own thing is being a detective that goes against gambling - a type of deal with the devil?)
Salvador Yadorigi Fukuro - Gorgon (Okay, now, admittedly, this one is one of my weakest, but was inspired to call him a gorgon due to his own whole thing with his special eyes, and how he stunned Keisuke from DRK4 with the look of them. Stunning? Turning people to stone? A stretch? Kind of, but I still think it also kind of works so...)
Sachi Mizuiyama - Elf (Okay, beyond her getting an elf because she's short, was also inspried to give it to her based upon elves appearing young when they're actually older - something that's been pointed out about Sachi - and how elves/fairy-ish folk tend to have skewed moralities. Something that skewed me towards Sachi and her whole deal)
Korisu Kakitsubata - Succubus (Also one of my weakest, yet this one just feels so fitting. She dresses provocatively and acts seemingly benevolent, but that's hiding a malicious front to get away with claiming a soul. Plus, another case of her being related to fire and Succubi being from Hell - it just kind makes itself work out)
Suntetsu Shirasu - Underworld Gatekeeper (Chose this after a lot of internal debating, but decided this might be the most fitting? Like Gozu & Mezu or Cerberus, Suntetsu's actions decided who remains in the living and who has to remain in the afterlife. If there was a more fitting word for this type of monster, I'll gladly hear it out)
DRK4:
Tsukiyo Nada & Nazuna Toakitsu - Dominion & Virtue (Types of Angels in Christian theology and apart of the Middle Order set of angels with the Powers. Tsukiyo is Dominion given they govern celestial bodies & Tsukiyo's name refers to the night sky itself - ok that and her domineering personality. Naz is Virtue since one of its job is to bolster faith, and Naz is the most supportive of the duo in terms of helping out Yui to Salvador to Tsukiyo as well. Plus, they round out Yui being Power and also coming from a religious school)
DRK5:
Tatsutora Oboro - Bakaneko (Ok, the weakest one out of the lot, but also didn't really want to spend too much time on a minor guy like Oboro. As such, with part of his name, 'Tora', meaning tiger the idea that came to mind was a simple monster cat!)
DRK 6:
Motosuke Suzuyari - Yeti (He's in the icy mountains, described as being kind of wild looking. It writes itself)
Ayako Saiko - Witch (@drmedicsgamesurgery holds credit for the intiial placeholder as being a 'Mad Scientist'. However, mad scientists aren't technically monsters, I decided to swap it with the mad scientist of monster: a witch)
DRK 7:
Shiroko Yukimura - Yuki-onna (I got this based upon her part of her name 'Shiro' meaning white and the fact she appeared in a snowy setting)
Senshi Kadomi - Giant (Big guy with a knack for violence to get what he wants? Yeah, Senshi was pretty much hardlocked into being a giant from early on)
Kanji Yuhain - The 1st Horseman/Conquest/Pestilence/White Rider (I went with the 1st Horseman of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, after being inspired from Yuhain riding to Sirius on top of a white horse which symbolizes conquest or pestilence in the modern age. Both fit Yuhain as a guy who seeks to conquer the detective world as the King of Detectives and given his corrupt nature, he can very much be considered a pestilence.)

Hazbin Hotel Headcanon Bundle #1
Yet another new thing of mine! Pretty simple, actually. Just a few headcanons for, as I would like to call, my main 6. These might be out of the blue and not interconnected or maybe not, we both will have to see what happens. Be my guest, dear friend!
CHARLIE
Charlie would be an avid cute simulation games player. Minecraft, Stardew Walley, Sims and much more.
She is a holiday person who always has way too much planned in advance. Decorations, food, music, activities, everything! Halloween, Valentine’s Day, somebody’s birthday, anything!
Is on the “Cute Animals” side of Helltok.
VAGGIE
Exercises every day. Hazbin Hotel definitely has at least a little gym in which Vaggie spends no less than an hour or two a day.
 Has a custom bingo card for every resident. In there she writes sort of predictions for them, for instance, “Alastor finally asks how to use a normal phone”. Funny thing, she has all of them half – filled already.
Can play loads of songs on guitar and is a quick learner to new ones.
ALASTOR
This man does not approve of any kind of transport. He only travels by walking or some teleportation, maybe via shadows.
Is a total lightweight. A few glasses/shots according to alcohol’s degree and Alastor is a babbling mess.
When he first came down to Hell, he made a few allies, later turned friends from around his death decade. They jokingly made a bet about who will die last in Hell. Today they are either dead because of Termination Day or Alastor completely cut ties with them due to some bad blood in between. He stills does a quick check – up out of interest to see if they are still “alive”.
ANGEL
His Hell’s equivalent of dating app description would be “Angel in life, devil in bed”.
Actually knows how to sew and decorate clothes. Has made a few for himself and dozens for the Fat Nuggets.
Loves reality tv shows. Has seen all “Love Island” seasons, since it is his favourite one.
HUSK
Knows a handful of close – up magic tricks with cards. Always gets the right card.
Although he has wings, Husk never bothered to learn how to properly fly.
Loves 70’s esthetic.
NIFFTY
Listens to boy bands regularly. New, old – all!
Is the best at any kind of board game. Monopoly’s monarch, slayer of Scrabble, absolute queen of Alias. Though, she lets others win sometimes. Sometimes…
Niffty loves to study new subjects and expand her knowledge on practically anything she can possibly can.

FNAF Brainrot
Guess who found a super old AU? This bitch! I'm gonna rant about it for a little. Feel free to hate or whatever, I honestly couldn't care less. It's an AU (which literally stands for Alternate Universe), so pretty much nothing follows canon.
So, to start off, the AU was heavily inspired by AkiR Moon on YouTube. Yes, I know their oldest video is from like two years ago; therefore, this AU isn't SUPER old. Hang in there, people can change a lot in two years and this was when I first joined the FNAF fandom about 2 1/2 years ago. I was such an immature fuck back then.
Anygays, I'll call this AU the Afton Family Expansion Pack AU, or Expansion Pack for short. In Expansion Pack, there were five main things you had to know.
There were more people in the Afton Family, like, a lot more. There are so many OCs
William Afton was always a good person (Yes, this AU has the whole Vincent Evil Twin Brother thing, but he died super young)
Magic was a real thing that some people could harness.
It was kind of tied to Hazbin Hotel at one point, but I dropped that after around two months of playing with the crossover.
It's pretty gay, ngl.
I was (and still am) fascinated by magic and mythology so the third thing was me indulging myself and creating my first magic system.
Also, I am a sucker for torturing the good characters. So, William Afton may be a good person in Expansion Pack, but he suffers a ton. Michael Afton suffers more than he does in canon and has basically never been truly happy since he was eight.
Moving on, the AU basically stars three people as possible main characters.
William Afton (not a murderer, but his body was possessed and used to kill children while he was still conscious. He kinda believed that he had done it of his own free will and he thought he was bipolar or something.)
Michael Fritz Afton (Not the guy who killed C.C. They are two different people in this. But, Michael is still Eggs Benedict/Fritz Smith/Mike Schmidt/any other alias he has used in the games.)
Michael Terrence Afton (Birth name was Terrence Darren Afton, but he begged for it to be changed after the original Michael got kidnapped [lore for another day]. It was his way of processing his brother's disappearance. Terrence was the one who killed C.C. Older brother of the year, man! [This is sarcasm.])
I suppose Terrence is less of a main character to follow, but I did put some effort into fleshing him out as a character. I haven't even touched on William's nephew, Donni, or his weird ass friends. Or William's mother, father, and stepmother. His younger brother and half-sister have such a pleasing relationship with him.
I kinda want to start writing out the lore on a doc so I can throw away the multitude of papers I found and also satisfy the part of my brain that itches to turn the story in my mind into a story on my laptop screen.
Honestly, I think the concepts that went into the full AU were interesting, and I enjoyed rewatching AkiR Moon's videos.
Anygays, this was a late-night rant that will probably haunt me until the end of my days. Later nerds.

👽 AUs
Dude are you KIDDING??? I love AUs so much that back before I shortened my alias to not be an embarrassing Google Translate mishap, a running joke with my friends was (in the voice of "randy your sticks") NEGAU YOUR AU!!!!!
I'm a sucker for them. I love them. ESPECIALLY ones that stick guys from one fandom in the universe of another. My Madoka AU for the Evangelion kids is my precious baby brain child that I will cherish for the rest of forever and hopefully one day actually finish a fic or doujin or SOMETHING of. Bonus points if I can take the lore and fucking run with it like we're doing with the FFXV guys in Pokémon :^)
👨‍👨‍👧‍👧 fankids
Again: are you kidding? Not to put an RP partner on blast here, but @novuscaelum is a joy for me to interact with and bounce off of. Fankids are great! Just...with the caveat that it's mostly (not entirely but mostly) on the fankid to make sure that they're not forcing the parent to compromise too much on their portrayal. A little give and take on both ends makes for a happy RPing, but chances are if you're the fankid, you came up with your OC based on some preconceived notions you have about the canon parent(s) which you may not share with the person you're writing with. TL;DR: Communication is key!
🗝 selectiveness in the RPC
I think there's a tendency to equate selectiveness with elitism, which. It's just Not. People have boundaries, and it's important to make your own clear and respect those of others. I've been the person who didn't get followed back or got softblocked before, and it sucks!! I know it does!! But nobody on this website owes you RP interactions, and for every one person that passes on you, there will be five others that are more than willing to write with you.
🥂 my favorite part of the canon
I'll go with KH since that's one of my main things right now and you didn't specify LOL /nm
It's hard to pick one favorite thing no matter how I interpret this question. I could go with meta-wise what's my favorite thing about KH as a series, or in-universe what's my favorite plot beat, lore, etc. I'll go with the latter interpretation for the purposes of this meme, and for KH...one of my favorite things is how very not chosen one Sora is. The story goes out of its way to say that Sora is an ordinary kid who likes taking naps on the beach and is content with his life on the islands, if anything mostly going along with Riku's hunger to see what else is out there. For fuck's sake, the Kingdom Key was meant to be RIKU'S at first, and it chose his heart instead in the wake of what happened to the Islands. "I know that the Keyblade didn't choose me, and I don't care. I'm proud to be a small part of something bigger — the people it did choose."
The fact that he's just a kid who, through sheer force of will and desire to protect what matters to him, strong armed his way into being the hero is way more powerful than the Chosen One trope will ever be, in my humble opinion. It's why I'm so scared of the murmurs of theories that Sora will have some grand ties to some UX / ML era characters or be reincarnated or some shit, that would be such a massive shit on everything that the previous games set up and I hope to GOD it doesn't end up happening.

Ana Vasileiv
Tumblr media
"I used to try hard to prove other wrong. Now I try to prove myself right."
Name: Anastasia Vasileiv
Nicknames: Ana (by everyone) , Tasia, Dead girl, Ghost queen, Queen of the underworld, My flower ( by her grandmother).
Hero Name: Morena
Title/Alias: The "Witchcraft" Hero
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Nationality: Russian
Ranking: Novice
Occupation: Student
Affiliation/Organization: U.A, Class 1-AHero
Appearance: Ana has gorgeous and demure oval shaped face with long platinum blonde hair tied in a braid crown with two strands framing her face, large doll-like sea green eyes and long lashes, and deathly pale skin. She has a short and fragile built like a doll.
Costume: A long sleeve purple witch like dress with a black double corset around her waist. Black leggings and black knee-high boots with silver buckles. On top of her head is a kokoshnik like tiara.
Personality: Ana is a very kind and sweet individual, always polite to everyone and has the patience of a saint. She is well-mannered, elegant and has graceful way of speaking, this stems from being raised by her grandmother. Another trait she inherited is her love for flowers, specifically the dark ones.
Despite her appearance and mannerisms, she loves macabre and is fascinated by occult and the concept of death. Due to the nature of her quirk, she has grown accustomed to death and doesn't even flinch at the sight of a rotting corpse. However that doesn't make her any less respectful, in fact it makes her more empathetic and more remorseful to those who died and gives the wronged a proper burial. Ana is also immune to horror movies and games.
Because of her grandmother's reputation, Ana strives to be a hero as great as her. She feels pressured on how everyone expects her to be a villain because of her quirk, and how she can never be her grandmother's successor. However, she hides the pain behind a cheerful mask.
Ana doesn't judge people based on rumors and the things they do. Instead she takes time getting to know them and find out why they do it. She's an open-minded person and unbiased willing to listen to the opinions or stories of two conflicting parties until coming up with a solution that will make them both happy or at least satisfied making her an excellent peacekeeper and diplomat.
History: Ana's parents were less that savory people, her father was a married man and her mother was his mistress. After Ana was born, her father moved away refusing to take responsibility, betrayed and angered by this her mother also left., leaving Ana in the care of her grandmother. The older woman was disappointed and upset of her daughter's actions, but loved her granddaughter nonetheless.
Ana discovered her quirk when she was four , she was shopping with her grandmother when she spotted a puppy about to be run over. Without thinking she ran to the street and saved it, though she felt the impact, she just felt a dull ache on her body. She later found out she can regenerate her body. However that's only one part of her quirk, she discovered the other half when she was nearly kidnapped. Ana was heavily frighten and did not remember much, but screams and bones, her grandmother later told her she can raise the dead.
Ana had a somewhat lonely childhood, she was ostracized by the other children, the girls were envious of her beauty and the rest of the children bully her for her quirk, even some adults were wary of her. So often visits the local cemetery, where the dead were her only friends.
Upon the recommendation of an old friend of her grandmother's, she got into U.A with their help
Equipment/Weapons: A pair of torches. The flames of the torches are actually the souls of the damned and hateful, however the fire is cold.
Quirk: Undead witch
Character Strengths: She can raise the dead to fight for her or restrain her enemies, she can also summon the ghost/souls and harness their powers fuel her scythe. Ana is capable regenerating her body in a rapid  pace, to the point decapitating her head is useless. Numerous kinds of poisons and toxins are also useless.
Character Weaknesses: Ana can only summon the dead for 30 mins and if her opponents attacks are faster than her regeneration or more than she can handle, then she'll be greatly injured. Her only drawback is that if she summons too much her energy will decrease and she'll collapse in exhaustion.
Super moves:
The Dead's Grudge: Ana blasts them with a fireball, once hit the ghost will envelope them and squeeze them to submission.
Agony of the Damned :Ana unleashes powerful blasts of icy-fire of souls similar to a flamethrower.
Black Parade: She raises an army of the undead to either attack, distract or apprehend her opponent.
Wailing Souls: Ana summons ghosts to harass her opponent, their screams of agony chip away their mental state.
From the Depths of Hell: The surrounding area's temperature drops drastically as Ana unleashes all the ghosts and zombies who died in the area to fight for her.
Stats
Power: 5/5 A
Speed: 4/5 B
Technique: 5/5 A
Intelligence: 3/5 C
Wits: 3/5 C
Cooperativeness: 4/5 B
Occult lover: 6/6 A

Ey can I ask you about serial experiments lain? I watched the anime and I could use some help
I've probably had this in my darfts for years and I am answering now your question I'm sorry but here we go.
⚠️⚠️ I might include a bunch of spoilers so SPOILER ALERT and read carefully if you want to watch this show for the first time. Also TW because we might speak about topics like s*icid*, d*ssoc*ation and cults. ⚠️⚠️
Every episode is called layer 1 to 13 and those layers have also a name that is associated with the theme that is exploring the episode:
Layer 1: Weird
Layer 2: Girls
Layer 3: Psyque
Layer 4: Religion
Layer 5: Distortion
Layer 6: Kids
Layer 7: Society
Layer 8: Rumors
Layer 9: Protocol
Layer 10: Love
Layer 11: Infornography
Layer 12: Landscape
Layer 13: Ego
The first scene of the first episode, Chisa, a girl that studies in the same secondary school as our main character, Lain, k*lls h*rself jumping off a building. The death is not at all explicit as we start to see the kind of scenario that the show is going to portray: flashing lights, blurry backgrounds, scenarios that don't really make sense but they are understandable and the constant focus on cables or wires. That's where the play on words begins: the alias of the internet in this show is called the wired, which ties with the name of the layer 1, the weird. The wired is introduced to us through a chain of emails that Chisa is sending to her schoolmates after her death, saying that she found God in the wired and inciting everyone to commit s*icid* too, so they can find God. When Lain reads the email she starts to deep dive throuhg the wired to find out what is it really about. The wired sounds very similar to weird, the unknown, which keeps deepning in the misterious and dreamlike atmosophere that is being constructed. It also sounds like wires, which are all around the city. That's a representation of the collide between the real (the city) and the unknown, the virtual, the alternative or, in this case, the wired. This can also be seen in Lain, that is obviously related to line, as a connection or a bridge between the werid and the real world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Layer 01: weird
These play on words keep going in layer 2, Girls, when Lain meets with some girls from her class to go to a night club called Cyberia. The annomalies keep going, as they encounter a catfish of Lain, a girl that looks identical to her and keeps causing problems around the club. They also find an unspecified drug, in the form of a capsule, that turns into a microchip in their hands. This ties up with the next episode, layer 3, psyche. Lain receives a microchip to enhance the potency of her computers, the ones that she has been using to dive through the wired. It was an annonimus gift from a group called the Knights. All these elements are bringing another layer to the wired: there is not only a collision between real world and virtual world, there is also a fusion between mind (psyche) and the machine. This will be touched up upon later, but mind or psyche is not only refering to the concious or the actions of the person that gets in touch with the machine, but the identity and humanity of the person that is slowly transfering into it, even in a spiritual way. That bring us to layer 4, Religion.
Here, we are introduced to phantoma, an online game made by these group, The Knights. It is used by them as a kind of "recruitment" for their mission, which is to connect as many people as possible to the Wired to begin their "ascension" to a hyperreality (the Wired). It is seen as a mimic of heaven in the spiritual sense, where your soul goes once it leaves your body, but the ascending is not through a moral doctrine, that makes you deserving of the paradise once you die. The promise is that if you commit su*c*de, you'll ascend to the Wired, and they use these microchips and techno-drugs seen in layer 2 and 3 to introduced people into the sensorial experience of the Wired until they don't even need a computer or any device to connect to phantoma, as their mind is already connected. Phantoma is a hook for young teens that are into games and get trapped until they are so merged with the server that if they lose/die in the game, they die in real life too. This obssesions and connections between the virtual world and human behaviours is a commentary on abuse of technogy and dehumanisation of human relationships, how they distort our personalities and the vision we have of other people (this is usually shown through all the catfishes that are shown like the mother and the daughter that are connected in phantoma) and the withdrawal of real life relationships, as Lain sinks more into the Wired and isolates herself from everyone and upgrades more and more her computer. This is also showing how the wired distorts human relationships and human minds, as we are been shown the split in Lain's identity through her contact with this virtual world: there is this agressive Lain we saw in the club, a passive femcel rot girl summer Lain that was shown from the begining and a new skilled and proactive and obssesive Lain that wants to endure her knowledge of the Wired. This brings the next episode, layer 5, Distortion.
The separation between the three Lains becomes real, and the three take action separated from each other. Most of the action takes place this time in the city, where "God" is talking as a voice in off to the audience (it's kinda breaking the third wall but not really because those inner speeches as narration for a scene are common in anime) about the deviance of the capitalist society, that has become purposeless and they need to trascend to the Wired (very Cult like rethoric). The active Lain is trying to stop the Knights, that are spreading these words through paper tissues to random people in the streets (kinda dumb and kinda genius) while agressive Lain is sabotaging her manipulating traffic lights to cause accidents and stop her. The contact with the Wired has split these two parts appart from the original Lain: one that is connected to the real world and the life of those who live there; and another one that is connected to the virtual world and is looking for the trascendance of humanity to the Wired. The original Lain is laying in the middle, unable to reconcile with both parts of her psyque.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Layers 03 and 04: psyque and religion
Layer 6, Kids, I'm not gonna lie, is a mess. Not because it's bad, I mean that we had like five episodes where half of it is just Lain walking around liminal semi-empty spaces with a weird soundscape and now there's so much random shit happening at the same time that it bothered me. It's not even that much action and we still have a good amount of weird cryptic dialogs but Idk the rythm here was kinda messy. The important parts of the episode are at the begining when Lain is talking to a stranger in the Wired and the mention "the next project" (she's talking to the Knights) and when Lain while hanging up with her schoolmates in the street sees herself in the sky as if she was god opening the clouds and a bunch of people adoring her and after Alice (one of the girls from her friend group) sees it she reacts like wtf is that Lain??? And it seems like no one else sees it because she acts like nothing happened after and everyone is totally fine with it. I know I'm been dramatic, it's surreal not a plot hole but idk man I didn't like that, at least act shocked. Anyways, Lain connects again to the Wired at home and we see her again walking around a dark void in silence again and someone makes an Alice's adventures in Wonderland, which is kinda fitting with the show. She starts a weird dialog in another empty liminal space that's very Alice in Wonderland like (play on words and riddles) until she ask a random dying scientist about KIDS (a hit that was given to her in the dialog, she thought it was phantoma because it traps gamer™ kids until they die). He tells her that someone learned about his experiments to create phantoma, using the PSI (a power I guess) of children. He did an experiment where he extracted the PSI from a whole buch of children to connect their mind into a bigger energy but it was unstable and all the children died. This experiment is KIDS and the Knights are using the simulation of phantoma to recreate the experiment, as all the data has been leaked in the Werid. Conveniently when Lain asks why tf did he want to do this experiment the answer is something along the lines of "I thought I would be cool" like mixing mentos with coke to see what happens. Whatever, this episode is not my favorite, but out of context it's hilarious.
In layer 7, society, the Knights are revealed as normal people: they are not an underground society (like the illuminatis or that sort of things), they're just everyday people that happened to be hackers. This touches a bit on the catfish commentary that was shown before, but distorsion of identity can become distorsion of perception too. In the lines of the cult behaviour, an idea of union and the dehumanisation and allienation from society can make everyday people become attrocious and elevate a random person on the internet to a god-like status. Meanwhile, the Knights are able to take down the local police's website (based) and some agents from Tachibana General Laboratories (they're like the Microsoft of this show but they also create the technogy that keeps up the Werid, seems like they have a weird monopoly going on) take Lain to talk to a man in an empty room and they have (again) a cryptic and weird dialog but with the difference that these men acknowledge that Lain's identity is tearing appart from the contact with the Wired and they force a switch between femcel Lain into proactive Lain (Lain from the Wired). It could be seen before but the different Lains are taking more and more control over the life of the original Lain until she feels completly depersonalized and can't remember anything about her. The purpose of this visit to a man in black in an empty space is, obviously, not explained but as they seem to be tracking the Knights to stop them they might have wanted proactive Lain as a potential source of information . In the end, she does not want to collaborate with them, as she sees them as dangerous as the Knights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Layers 08, 10 and 12: Rumors, Love and Landscape
In layer 8, Rumors, everything starts falling appart and happening in weird dark multichromatic voids or dark long corridors or empty spaces and there's almost no dialog. Original Lain after her mental breakdown where she finds out she knows nothing about her family or herself starts spiriling into a crisis because the very little human and authetic relationship that she has, with Alice, is been sabotaged by aggresive Lain because she's a b and proactive Lain is out to stop her. After this it's revelation after revelation. First, Lain is not real, she does not know anything about herself because she's a software, so she's not a real person connecting into the Werid but a Werid product connecting into the real world. Second, the Lains that appeared on screen are representations of the id (impulsive and aggresive Lain), the ego (plathpilled femcel laying in her bed all day contamplating shy dissociated probably mitski fan Lain) and the superego (proactive Lain that's trying to repress aggresive Lain's impulses). Third, the so called God was a designer working un Tachibana General Laboratories, and was creating Protocol 7. Protocol 6 is the technology that susteins the Wired and can be used along the psyque (the microchip) to project yourself into it. Protocol 7 is the trascendance that the Knights are talking about, a technology that allows you to uplode your mind to the Wired. So God (I don't remember his name and I can't be bothered to look it up again in the wikia) basicly uploaded himself to the Wired and when they found out this at Tachibana General Laboratories they fired him but it was todo late and he k*ll3d h1ms*lf. He founded the Knights and created Lain.
Layer 9, Protocol, tbh it's so cryptic, too much nerd stuff. They talk something about the Schumann Resonance and dolphin communication with aliens and some aliens appear and talk to Lain like...I don't know anything about physics, I'm not going to touch on that topic. In layer 10, love, Lain has to face that everything she's lived was a lie (Lain is pronounced like line but also like lying) and her father is leaving her home as his work is over. The Knights are being prosecuted and killed by Tachibana General Laboratories and making it seem like s*icid*s while they're trying to erase God from Protocol 6. This episode touches on love, the different kinds of unconditional love that kept the project functioning: from Lain's father love to her, even tho he knew it was an scenario, the love that believers show to a God, that make it's existance needed and therefore mantains it alive (they basicly say that God is a product of our minds). God needs love from Lain to exists, but she refuses to believe in him. In layer 12, Landscape, when God presents in front of her and Alice, Lain deligitimazes him as God and says that God is actually herself so he turns into a monstrous creature and Lain destroys him. I haven't touched on layer 11, Infornography, yet but it's because it's kind of a transition episode where Lain is connecting to the wired and has a bunch of flahsbacks (like a 0% to 100% upload) and it's kinda cute because it touches on the love and sense of longing that she has towards Alice. In layer 13, ego, Lain erases herself from the real world so no one remembers her, using her God Status. She has a conflict between what's right and what she wants that is identical to The End of Evangelion but with a cuter resolution. She promises Alice she will visit her after she leaves the real world and when she visits her, Alice is married and does not remember Lain but she keeps by her side, as love is what defines her existance.
Okay I think that's it. Idk if there is any doubts left but probably I'm not gonna be able to answer it because this show might be my second favoutire anime but is confusing as fuck. I hope you found it helpful, even if it's three years later.

Those sterling locks, that air of authority... It can't really be her, can it?
The Hero draws closer, standing just behind who he's sure is a boon companion of his.
"Can you feel an overflowing power at your back? Is the wind of Fate not howling at your very ears?" And suddenly, he makes his move. With a daring smirk decorating his visage, he dashes in front of the tactician, swiveling on his heel to strike her one of his finest poses,
"Hoy there, o fount of deepest understanding! O goddess of infallible wisdom! 'Tis I, the hallowed traveler from another world: Oberon Dark!"
There is a pause in his speech. The wind--though certainly not Fate's wind--blows in the gap between them. Were they in a more arid environment, perhaps a tumbleweed would roll by. "Er, ahem! Surely you do not recognize me, but I have known you for millennia! Ever since the dawn of time, I have followed your tale...
(Psst, hoy there, Robin! It's me, Owain! Pretty cool alias, right? I was wondering what happened to you after we slew the Fell Dragon... As for me, I've already added another world-ending beast to my kill count, but we should catch up later!)"
The moment he began his shouting, Grima knew exactly who was approaching. She took a slow deep breath before giving him a smile, doing her best to look like she actually was glad to see him.
"Of course, I remember you, Owain. How could I forget?" She said quietly to him. She wouldn't blow his cover after all. That's what Robin would do. She would play into his little game and let him be amused by himself. Then she spoke louder. "Oberon Dark. We meet again. I'd love to catch up with you sometime. You can tell me how everyone's been."
Owain was the perfect person to squeeze information from. He was so forthcoming and trusting. It was exactly why Grima would gladly sit through his ramblings.

Here for the oc ask but oops! Dropped all the vowels!
a e
i
o u
sjhkJSl I'll pick them up and archive them, don't worry ^v^ thank you for the ask anon! (fun fact I almost typed acorn instead of anon)
A - Seems like a good time to talk about Alias. Ahhahahaa. Much about it is unknown, it may be a fallen god of some sort, or it may just be some weird creature, who knows. The only part of the original them that remains is their eye, the rest of their humanoid body is... borrowed. Hence the moniker Alias. (If anyone here knows Magnus Archives, hushhhh. jhsjhakjhdh I would elaborate how I was inspired and then accidentally tapped into the writer's brainwaves halfway through the series but I won't and I'm keeping the knockoff ceaseless watcher, byeee)
E - Ellison Poet, or Elatha as he's known professionally (so two E points for that, mark that down xD). He's kind of a minor celebrity, very big in the modern art world. He's a bit of a recluse, so when he appears publicly it's a big thing. Very good at being stoic and enigmatic to make everyone go insane about him. Dresses fancy and dignified. Bisexual king for real :]
I - Izelle! She's also an artist (quite a lot of my characters are in one way or another, I'll admit), though not near as well known as Elatha. In fact she's not very successful as an artist. But she enjoys creating her abstract paintings and making a huge mess of her apartment when she does so. In general she just has an unbreakable peppy attitude. She's basically like... Flo from Progressive.
O - Obsidian, known as "Sid". He is a guard in hell, and he is identical to hundreds of other guards in hell. They're not really meant to be people, that's why they are invisible and only wear all black suits and ties, they stand still and hold large scythes. Sid is different only because one lonely demon started talking to him one day. It's an abstract and weird world, but he basically developed a personality by being what she needed in a friend.
U - ah, okay, so I think U is the one letter I don't have a character for yet so I'm taking them as "you", as in me, so I'll talk about one of my personas, of which I also have a bunch xD My Steven Universe sona is called Violet, they were travelling to see the ocean for the first time when they found Beach City and kinda settled down on accident. They were in the middle of a breakdown and acting very impulsive tbh. They took a guitar lesson from Greg and then from there they ended up befriending Barb and Vidalia too, became a regular in their card game nights. Aaand every time they see the mysterious crystal gem Pearl around town, they duck behind a nearby structure and hyperventilate gayly
send me a random letter and I'll tell you a fun fact about one of my OCs!

I’m gonna have to write a fic for this pairing, aren’t I?
Nevermind the fact I still haven’t finished my Eddie/Venom/Flash one yet and I can never just write a short fic, no, it has to be a Thing and I always go for the really small pairings.
I just have a lot of feelings about the concept of coming to know yourself through your shadow, and let’s face it, Roche and Iorveth are each other’s shadows. All the qualities they hate about each other are the same things that personally drive them.
And it’s true for both of them but I just keep sticking on Roche for some reason, the loyal Temerian Hound, who committed a lot of wrongs at the order of a king who saved him, and then lost that king, and, uh...
Look, I’ll be honest, I haven’t played the second game so I’m not too clear on what happens with Saskia and Vergen and Henselt (besides the fact he’s shit and Roche kills him, spoiler alert I guess), so I can’t really say how all that ties in to where he ends up in the third game, but in the third game he’s in a pretty shit situation, doesn’t seem all that concerned with the Socia’tael anymore, and is more than willing to kill Radovid for the sake of Temeria. I’m assuming the general idea is that Anais will take over the throne, and then what?
What does Roche do from there?
He has the blood of two kings on his hands and Emhyr isn’t exactly the kind of man to give into his promises without some kind of backhanded result. Making a deal with him is like the damn Monkey’s Paw, and it wouldn’t really be smart of any ruler to give Roche a position of power in a court.
So we have a man who’s known nothing but war and following the orders of his king, who has decided one of his first acts WITHOUT orders is to kill another king for his country, and then really has no place in that country afterwards.
We could obviously go down the PTSD and depression route very easily here, but I’m not the kind of person to just settle on that and Vernon Roche probably isn’t either. Now that he has no ties, it’s time for this bitch to go find himself.
And maybe that means just wandering aimlessly for a little bit.
And maybe that means coming across some wayward elves getting harassed.
Roche, naively maybe, had thought that with Nilfgaard taking over, shit like that would have stopped. It was supposed to stop. The elves are allowed wherever they wish now, so long as they behave, and these ones clearly aren’t Socia’tael or the people harassing them would have been long dead. And that’s how Roche finds himself helping Aen Seidhe refugees under an alias and realizing how much of an absolute shit lord he had been.
I know some people like to have it where Roche doesn’t hate non-humans, he just did it because he was ordered, but shit like that tends to be a bit more engrained. When you’re around someone, ADMIRE that someone, and they’re so flippantly disregarding the lives of people they consider OTHER, it rubs off. Roche is not immune to propaganda, nor is he necessarily a good person since there’s really no such thing. There’s just people, who sometimes try their best and sometimes don’t, and who sometimes change and sometimes don’t.
So here we have Roche realizing the hate he felt for these people was never really his own. There’s nothing here to hate. The Socia’tael, yeah, maybe, but not the innocents he drove from their lands and sometimes killed if they didn’t obey Foltest’s ordinances.
So he does a Personal Growth, which both makes him feel shitty and wrecked with guilt, and also makes him determined to help and be Better.
And then fucking Iorveth shows up and nearly blows his cover to shit.
At this point, it’s still okay to hate the Socia’tael for Roche, because they’re war criminals and gods dammit, if he can be better, then so can Iorveth, Iorveth just chooses not to. But whatever, Roche has officially decided that he’s not going to pick a murderous fight over this because he’s not that kind of person anymore and it’s not his job to enforce the rules. He’s helping now.
But, uh. Roche can have a little fistfight sometimes. As a treat. Because Iorveth’s face is very punchable and Iorveth is his usual haughty, smug self who takes way too much amusement from Vernon fucking Roche helping elven refugees.
Only he’s not just very amused, he’s only amused to pissed off Roche, reality is he’s pretty confused and suspicious of this. Because HE would never go off and help dh’oine no matter how bad off they are, so obviously Roche wouldn’t go off and help Aen Seidhe without some ulterior motive.
Iorveth bides his time and somehow manages to find a time that’s ripe for Talking. Not the goading shit-talking they do, but like an actual TALK. It maybe starts out as an interrogation, but Roche doesn’t raise to the bait like Iorveth assumes and then Roche is all sincere about shit that happens to relate a lot to what Iorveth has been feeling too, and oh gods damn it all, now he’s sympathizing with Vernon Roche. Empathizing, even.
Iorveth hates it.
Roche doesn’t seem to particularly care how it makes Iorveth feel and Iorveth hates that too.
Overall he regrets he even asked.
Then something something something they have to do a Thing together. I don’t know the exact details, probably has to do with displaced elves.
Let’s just say Nilfgaard hasn’t fully conquered the North yet, like they’re almost there, it’s in that stage where they technically occupy the area but there’s a lot of unrest and certain people (racists) aren’t very keen on certain rules (rules telling them not to be racist) so they’re causing Problems about it.
Maybe they get wind that there are some Witch Hunters holding a decent amount of elves hostage, but not quite enough for Nilfgaard to bother with them, so Roche is like, sure, okay, I’ve been getting better at this whole sneaky sneak thing, I’ll go sneak the elves out. And Iorveth is obviously not letting Roche go do that alone, because it’s Roche, and Iorveth still wants to be suspicious of him and doesn’t like him, and someone needs to be there to actually rescue the elves if Roche dies, also he kind of wants to see Roche die (he doesn’t, but semantics) so he goes.
The sneaky sneak plan fails, go figure. And here’s where I might have to twist canon a bit because how well known is it that Roche helped plot against Radovid? Dunno, but we’re gonna say not too many people actually know, just those in power. And Temeria is established and under Nilfgaard, but Roche isn’t in a position of power there and when the sneaky sneak plan fails, he’s not wearing any indication that he’s WITH Temeria. So say someone that knows him from his Blue Stripes days sees him and they’re like, huh. Vernon Roche hates non-humans and didn’t immediately ally himself with Temeria and Nilfgaard. Clearly this is an ally.
So at first getting caught is sort of fine, because now he’s making awkward conversation with a racist and getting introduced to other racists but no one is trying to kill him so like. Okay. Could be worse.
And then the alarm sounds because Iorveth was spotted and they drag Roche to go corner him.
Iorveth is fully expecting Roche to keep up his little ploy and he can’t even say he blames Roche, because it’s a good way to sneak in and save people, IF Roche isn’t seriously considering going back to being a shit lord just because it’s convenient. They’re pretty out numbered. Fighting would be a bad idea. Iorveth is still pissed, obviously, and feels betrayed, and he plans on giving Roche no end of shit about this later even if he DOES use the position to save the elves.
Only Roche curses under his breath and turns his sword on the nearest Witch Hunter and all hell breaks loose. For the first time Iorveth finds himself fighting WITH Roche instead of against him.
And it’s kind of fun.
Just as thrilling.
And they actually turn out to be a very deadly team together.
So they rescue the elves and have every intention of escorting them back to the refugee camp they know of when they’re told about the camp these elves came from. One that was attacked by Witch Hunters. It’s a thing they’re doing now, kidnapping elves and destroying refugee places. So instead they point the elves in the direction of the camp they came from since the roads are all clear, and they go on their little crusade to save elves.
And along the way they learn stuff about each other.
Roche learns more about elves in general, and the uncultured swine actually starts finding himself more and more fascinated by the deep complexity and emotional connection to the world they have. He envies it, even, because even when Iorveth has nothing, he has that connection. Roche has only ever had Temeria and now, well. Only himself, really, and he’s still trying to figure out what to do with that.
Iorveth takes the slightest amount of pity for the useless dh’oine, because the idea of not having that connection, that thing to moor him down, sounds intolerable. How do humans survive without that? So he starts making a half-assed (or at least he tells himself it’s half-assed) effort to help Roche recognize the natural world around him a bit more and have more respect for it.
It’s the fact that Roche is TRYING, genuinely TRYING that really makes Iorveth feel a certain way.
And he opens up a bit about himself, his past, why he joined with the Socia’tael, and after seeing everything he’s seen, and what he’s STILL seeing, Roche starts understanding it a bit more. The actions of desperate people pushed to the edge, what they do when diplomacy fails, when assimilation means death, the tactics they resort to because there is no fair fight otherwise.
Now he can’t hate the Socia’tael either. He can’t even dislike them. Hell, he even finds himself admiring them.
And Iorveth learns about humans.
Nothing groundbreaking, exactly. Not about the species as a whole, anyway. Maybe that they’re capable of change, which is pretty revolutionary in his mind, and sometimes they stop into places and Iorveth sees that some humans do, indeed, have compassion for things that aren’t exactly like them.
The most interesting and useful thing he learns is that human body hair isn’t that bad and against what he would have assumed, he actually kind of likes it? Especially the stubble that Roche can never seem to entirely shave off in the morning--because it turns out Roche is actually pretty cleanly for a human when he has regular access to be.
The texture and burn of it scraping at his skin is nice, okay? It’s new and nice and maybe he can understand why there are so many mixed-elves running about despite how awkwardly bulky and clumsy dh’oine are. Also they’re warm. And, at least in Roche’s case, large. So yeah. He’ll concede the point that they make good bedpartners, and that’s ALSO something Iorveth learns about humans.

fgo theory is caster cu really odin
comments :
There is also the 10 bond CE for him being the Yggdrasil Tree, which is very Norse. (the fact he needs a bunch of Yggdrasil seeds may also be a bit of a hint.) Interestingly, the Wickerman festivals were held throughout Europe (Areas such as England and Scotland) and were regarded as a neo-pagan festivity. Chances are, if CasCu really is Odin, it is highly likely he will take action in the English Lostbelt second part. I think itd be really cool, but if that was the case itd be more likely Cu caster was a Cu-Odin fusion similar to Scathach-Skadi. We know its within Odin's ability to do a fusion like this due to how he did the same for Skadi. It also explains how caster cu retains the protection from arrows and disengage skills. It also makes more sense how he's kept his identity a secret, because it's not false that he is Cu.
www . reddit . com/r/grandorder/comments/lkw9xm/summary_of_the_caster_cu_chulainnodin_theory/
At absolutely no point does he ever give his name or makes any mention to it.
Other Servants who initially don't give their names say that they'll give it to you later. Caster does not even bring up the subject.
In the Garden of Sinners crossover event, he says "there's no Cú Chulainn here". It's treated as a gag, but...
In the Singularity F Memorial Quest, he's the only Servant referred to by his Class name instead of his True name.
In Lostbelt 6 he finally introduces himself... as Grimnir. This is an alias that Odin uses in the Grímnismál.
He's not supposed to be the Caster of the Fuyuki Grail War in the first place. In the original reality, it's Medea, while in FGO reality it's Solomon. Material states that Singularity F is the result of data colliding, and Caster resulted from that. However, in that case it should be either Solomon or Medea who appear in Singularity F, not Cú Chulainn.
One of his lines goes as following: "Isn't bit boring to play a game that never ends? For better or for worse, it's like you can't move the pieces forward, yeah?" Is he talking about Singularity F? At any rate, this sounds weird.
His Final Ascension art and animation update features two white wolves. Odin is stated to have two wolves named Geri and Freki.
His second Noble Phantasm, which he mentions in one of his My Room lines, is called "Ochd Deug Odin - Seal of the Great God". It's an exceedingly powerful Rank A Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm with potentially Game Breaking effects, but what's interesting is its description: it activates by chanting its True Name and using all 18 primordial runes granted by Scáthach at once (keep in mind she taught him the Norse ones) and it "temporarily unleashes the power of the rune possessed by the Great Odin". Aside from the weirdness of him even having that Noble Phantasm in the first place (he's not supposed to have Wickerman either, but at least we get an explanation for that), why can't he use it? (Potential Game-Breaker status not withstanding).
In the North America version of the game, his Bond Craft Essense is called "Yggdrasil Tree". That's taken from Norse Mythology, so why would a Celt have it?
In addition, the Yggdrasil tree has a particularly strong tie to Odin. The Ygg bit is another name for him, and according to legend at some point he hanged himself from one of its branches to gain wisdom.
For some reason, he's in the Nordic Fields during Boudica's 3rd Strengthening Quest.
During Valentine's Day in the return gift scene, he talks about the Human Order Incineration and the Human Order Reorganization - a.k.a. the Lostbelts. Somehow he knew about the Lostbelts before the game even got to that point.
In the 2019 Valentine's event, he's seen reading the book "Scandinavia's Beautiful Mountains".
In the FGO mats, Sigurd takes special notice of him and then has a Double Take. He also seems confused about him in his material profile. The fact that Sigurd noticed Caster is odd, but it should also be noted that Sigurd encountered Odin a number of times in his legend, thus making him one of the most likely people to recognize him.
Scáthach's Interlude brings up a LOT of questions. The regular Lancer Cú Chulainn says that his power is reduced because half his Saint Graph is missing. Mash suggests that the reduction in power may be because he was separated in numerous classes, but Lancer Cú is surprised that he can be summoned as a Caster. In addition, there are several Servants summonable in numerous classes, and none of them has this problem. There's a possibility that the other half of the Saint Graph went to Caster, and he's using an external source to stabilize it.
According to the Arcade version of FGO, it's impossible for any version of Cú Chulainn to be summoned without Gáe Bolg or the skill "Martial Arts Disciplining in the Shadow Country". Yet Caster has neither, thus making him an impossible summoning.
Not very noticeable in the English version, but he occasionally slips into using the "washi" pronoun during dialogue. For those who might not know, "washi" is actually pretty formal, and contrasts Cú Chulainn's much more casual "ore".
A lot of his official art has him looking subtly different that the other versions of Cú Chulainn.
He has lighter-coloured hair in all of his artwork, and Fate/Grand Carnival gives him wrinkles under the eyes. This trait is usually used in anime to show a character around 40-50 years old; an age that Cú Chulainn never reached.
In his card art and formal outfit card, his eyes are almost orange rather than red. In addition, one eye is always at least partially hidden.
In his April Fool's card, he has different facial features than the rest of the Cú Chulainns.
Tying to the above, Odin is known for disguising himself as an older man, usually a wizard, in a hood, and he's missing an eye. Missing eye aside, Caster fits most of that criteria, and as pointed out above, most his art hides his eye anyway. Odin gave said eye in exchange for wisdom, and there are a few remarks that Caster is getting smarter.
In the original Fate/stay night, Emiya draws a connection between Gáe Bolg and Odin's spear, Gungnir. Considering that he has picked up things like Rho Aias and Caladbolg, we can probably take him at his word. In his animation update, Caster throws his staff above the enemies heads, and then it changes tragectory to attack them from behind. While this could easily be a reference to Gáe Bolg's actual method of killing in the myth (it entered the victim through the asshole), it could also be a reference to how Odin would throw Gungnir above the heads of his enemies to declare a war.
Another detail from his animation upgrade is that his Instant Runes often take the form of a Valknut; this symbol according to some scholars is associated with Odin.
There are overall several indications that Caster will play a significant role later in the story: he's featured in the trailer of Lostbelt 6 and received his animation update during the Lostbelt 6 livestream, and Word of God has implied several times that we will be returning to Singularity F at some point.
Tying to the above, in one of My Room conversations, he say's he'll teach you how to use Runes later. Maybe it's not Blatant Lies after all.
Caster and Odin share several personality traits. Both of them are known as "the raging one", are strongly tied with the concept of war, magic, and wisdom, and both of them are The Gadfly - as Caster displays in Singularity F when he tries to get Mash to activate her Noble Phantasm. In addition, in various events Caster seems to have a gambling problem, which is also one of Odin's traits. Not to mention "summon me as a Lancer" works for Odin too.
The recent Lostbelt 6 update also adds fuel to the fire. In My Room dialogues, Scáthach tells him that his Rune magic is slightly different from what she taught him. He asks Sigurd not to look at him with the glasses, when he sees Brynhildr he muses that this must be fate/karma and specifically refers to Scáthach-Skadi as "Lostbelt Skadi."
His new battle lines from the same update are just as interesting.
"Witness the essence of the Rune magecraft taught by Scáthach... Sure, let's go with that." Along with Scáthach accusing him of his Rune magic being different, this could easily imply that he didn't learn them from her.
Another line is that "he doesn't have the noose of his neck anymore". As an above point states, this Odin did this to learn his runes. The noose bit also never happened to Cú Chulainn.
One of his victory lines references "wolves and crows" and that he has "no idea what they're talking about". The crows part could be a reference to the story of Cú Chulainn's death, which features a crow sitting on his corpse, but the whole quote seems to better reference Odin and his pets; the wolves Geri and Freki, and the crows Huginn and Muninn.
Lostbelt 6 also gives his a buff to his Disengage skill. More specifically, it's actually two buffs that activate back-to-back, with the first called "At the Fountain" and the second called "Sacrifice to the World Tree". Very specific, game.
In Lostbelt 2, it is outright stated that it was Odin who fused Skadi and Scáthach together. Who says he never did it before?

Hi i’ve been playing genshin way too much so i have some ideas for like. a genshin meets linked universe au where they all travel through teyvat and they have visions n stuff
I’m basing it off the ideals of the archon aswell as how characters with visions align with that of the chain
That being said, spoilers for genshin and all loz gams ahead!
Sky- Geo (Order/Contracts)
Odd since sky literally rode on the winds via his loftwing on his adventure, but He was already apart of this huge plan in the making set by Hylia long ago. Go defeat Demise, tailor the Master Sword, not to mention post adventure technically becoming the first king of hyrule and siring the royal line
I’d imagine his kit being Similar to albedo, with a sword and his skill being creating little floating island structures from out of the ground. His burst would be the same as his skyward slash, except after slashing it unleashes a densely controlled earthquake. The perfect support dps
Legend- Anemo (Freedom)
This was tough, but I think Anemo fits very well for him the more i think about it. Anemo is wind, and the archon himself lost someone he cherishes. Naturally everybody who possesses his vision will fall to this fate one day or another. He already has twice. First with his Uncle, second with Marin. He’s free from their ties, but never forgets.
His kit is unique. His skill is based off his wit, so dodging creates a shield that bursts when hit (similar to Beidou). His burst grants this ability for the whole team on a 3 charge basis. Very good support dps aswell and good for reactions.
Hyrule- Dendro (Wisdom)
I def see him having this since he’s very street smart (He’s a wandering traveler, no time for proper education!) and he’s already designated healer of the group. Thus he possesses a very rare element in the group, as if he didnt stand out already.
He fights with a sword still, sure, but his genuine kit comes from him using his vision like a catalyst, with the thing swirling like a book would. Literally dendro barbara with his kit tho, Elemental skill creates a pollen feild that helps heal allies when he attacks, and his burst Is flora manifesting itself in his friends wounds to heal them for more. Healer #1
Twilight- Hydro (Justice)
From the moment of his adventure, he had a duty, it just got more furry and world saving as time went on. So, naturally his sense of right and wrong landed him with a vision he didn't even understand how to use. So he just doesn’t use it until he has to.
If he has to not use his sword, he’ll rely on making one out of water that he can hold. His burst is literally just him using his hydro sword to do everything in his power to just. kick ass. He doesn't use it that often. Would make a great physical dps tho.
Wild- Electro (Transcience/Eternity)
Tough again, but i think electro is the best for Wild for 2 reasons
His past self is different from his self now, yet they are the same. With the electro archon, she too was like this in a way. 2 different people, same alias.  Link from before represents eternity, forever fulfilling his duty as personal guard for Zelda and keeping himself quiet. His focus needed to stay forever sharp if he were to continue. Now, with little to no recollection of how he was, he can be free and live in the everlasting moment. His willing silence was just him not wanting to talk, not for his duty.
Because of Urbosa, his elemental skill sends a lightning strike down at enemies when he snaps his fingers, then attacks with his sword.  For burst, Like in HWAOC, His sword glows with purple electricity and smites whose ever in range. Combine this with all his usual shenanigans you can do in his game and it can be very deadly. very. deadly.  Good main dps
Wind- Anemo (Freedom)
This was so easy it was practically a win/win if i chose this HDHDH
Wind lost the King of Red Lions, someone he needed to travel with and bonded, and has the literal windwaker. So even outside this world he could manipulate wind to a certain extent. Likes to use it in non-battle situations, to atleast get a taste of what its like to soar like he did on the sea. Naturally hes very excited about windgliders also when he finds this out.
Uses a sword still, but uses his actual windwaker as a catalyst. He points the baton in a certain direction, and it swirls in that spot. If he focuses long enough, he can send himself up into the air for some wild damage like venti. His burst is like the travelers, sending a small dense tornado in the direction of whatever's coming. Good for swirl effects
Time- Electro (Transience/Eternity)
Once again, easy pick, ESPECIALLY if im going with my “Fierce Deity literally lives in his head and has the option to front in time of need” Headcanon. 2 totally different people, same alias kinda. (FD kinda lives in his body now too so he has to share the name.)
Time’s elemental power is much more toned down, and really has to focus to get a good electro hit with his claymore. His burst Is like Razor’s, Manifesting FD into this electro form and fighting along side him.
If FD was in front, the power would be much more potent, perhaps on the level Baal’ has it. It’s not like his old powers, which he rather prefers, but its better than nothing. His elemental allows him to create electricity that procs on hard hits much like Baal, but his Burst sends down lightning from above like Sara. Also a good main dps
Warriors - Pyro (War)
Wars? Wars has passion. Wars has what it takes to lead an army...and set his cape on fire by accident. Especally now with his new vision which he uses...admittedly abit too much. No fire for tonight? No problem. Smithy cant bend his sword right during smithy? A little sizzle wouldn’t hurt.
It mainly comes from his sword, which drips flames like water does on a pole.  He uses his elemental skill to strike a seering blow to enemies. His burst Is much like a mix of albedo and bennetts, A slash downward sends shockwaves fo heat and flame towards enemies. Good support!
Four- Adaptive
Four, unbeknownst to the chain, has a choice between the 4. Why you might ask? Depends on whose fronting. So, to cover this up from the chain, He collectively goes with the notion that he’s “adaptive” as said by the locals, which is extremely rare.
Green- Pyro, for his dedication
Blue- Geo, for him being forced into this shit
Red- Dendro, for his sweet nature
Violet- Cryo, for his introverted mopeyness.
All of these channel into his sword for a hard hit, and all elements come together to create this powerful amalgamation of elements plummeting towards the target.

How different do you think Shin's character, or the story in general, would be if Shin had been a girl instead (let's call her, I dunno, Shinko. Souko can be her false name)? Obviously I don't believe it would make a /tremendous/ change to either the character or story, but it's just something interesting and fun to think and discuss about.
I agree that’s a fascinating topic!! At the core of Shin’s character is someone who worries tremendously about how others perceive them. Would the others perceive Shin differently if Shin were a girl? Would fem!Shin adopt new strategies to counter different kinds of expectations? Even subtle changes in the writing could make the story feel very different to us.
Personally, I’ve always thought that one of the best cards up Shin’s sleeve in canon is that he’s a man! Because we take men’s words seriously, even if they’re liars. If Shin were a woman, she might struggle more to be believed.
Before I go any further, I’ll keep calling her Shin, since Shin is a gender-neutral name. (That’s a plot point in the game! When the cast wonders if “Shin Tsukimi” could be the alias of one of the girls.) Based on my quick research, it seems like “Sou” is a masculine name. While “Shinko” and “Souko” sound sweet to me, I feel weird making up Japanese names, since I’m not Japanese. So I’ll keep using the original names, but I’ll try to be as clear as possible.
When I brought up your question to my sister, she pointed out to me that we could play this out in two ways. The first is the way you suggested, that fem!Shin pretends to be fem!Sou. But we could also do this the “Shakespearean way”; what if Shin was a girl pretending to be a boy? What if fem!Shin still chose to adopt the persona of the strongest man she knew, Sou Hiyori? This route would be especially emotional if fem!Shin were a trans woman or nonbinary, and still felt compelled to hide something essential about herself in order to survive. I don’t believe I’m the most qualified person to tell this kind of story, but that premise sounds intriguing. The subtext of Shin’s arc is already about repressing your true nature; this would simply be making the subtext text.
(Obviously that type of plot point can be handled in bad taste! But I think it could be a thoughtful exploration of gender issues, if written well. The focus of Shin’s name reveal here should not be “shock value,” and should instead feel like the natural culmination of her arc—that’s how Shin’s name reveal already feels in canon, so the new sentiment should mirror that. I think it also helps that we have another trans character in Alice, who lives more openly, and would bring a necessary perspective to this type of story.)
But let’s go back to the first way that you suggested, that fem!Shin pretends to be fem!Sou. What are some changes we might see if our lying antagonist presented herself as a woman?
I definitely think her biggest disadvantage would be that we take women’s words less seriously than men’s. To use a sad example, I think even Sara struggles with this. Would the group take Sara as seriously as a leader if she didn’t have Keiji backing her up? I don’t think they would.
In contrast, Shin is a liar who tries to command the group’s attention by behaving outrageously. This is already an incredibly dangerous gamble in canon. It’s made even more difficult by Shin beginning the game with a timid personality. I can imagine Fem!Shin struggling even more. It wouldn’t be a tremendous change, like you said, but you could definitely play it up. Maybe Fem!Shin would need to rely even more on acting “cutsey” to get what she wanted, if folks wouldn’t believe her when she tries to sound confident.
Perhaps Q-Taro might even throw Fem!Shin under the bus in the First Main Game, like he does with Nao, Gin, and Kanna? I remember that my sister and I joked that the reason Q-Taro doesn’t call Shin “useless” in canon was because of the unspoken “Bro Code.” (In other words, Q-Taro wouldn’t target an adult man—even one as weak as Shin—because that would endanger himself too!)
On the other hand, folks might be more “delicate” with Fem!Shin, and less likely to threaten her with violence? That would be an advantage! I’m especially thinking of how the group goes on a witch hunt for Shin in the beginning of Chapter 2, and Reko says that she wants to beat up the “beanie bastard,” while Keiji says he wants to throw handcuffs on Shin. Later in Chapter 2, after Shin takes the Sacrifice Card from Q-Taro, Q-Taro “stomps around” in a rage planning to attack Shin! Would they talk differently if Shin were a woman? It’s possible!
The downside of men being “taken seriously” is that we overlook their vulnerabilities. Shin is frail, but this is mockable in canon because he’s a man. If Shin were a frail woman, that would be expected. I think folks would be more careful with their threats and jokes if Shin were a woman. This also ties into how people often don’t take it seriously when men are victims of abuse—something masc!Shin likely struggles with in his regular life, since being an abuse survivor is an important part of Shin’s character.
Being a woman could also subtly change Shin’s relationships with other characters!
For example, Shin’s power games with Keiji would look different. On the one hand, I could imagine Keiji trying to be “nicer” to Fem!Shin, at least in the beginning. On the other hand? We could make this darker. I could imagine Keiji flirting with Shin to intimidate her. But instead of trying to “push her away” like he does with Sara, he’d be trying to put Shin in her place. Keiji is a master with words, and he could use them to devastating effect to remind Shin that she’s a woman while he’s the man in control. (To be clear, there’s no reason Keiji couldn’t flirt with Shin in canon! I’ve even written a ficlet of this exact scenario that I never intend to publish. I’m simply thinking that it would appear more “normal” for Keiji to flirt with another woman in public, and Keiji is concerned about appearances in this Death Game too.)
What about Shin and Kanna? One detail I thought of is that Fem!Shin might feel a little more hurt that Kanna sees her sister in Sara instead of her. Masc!Shin can rationalize that Sara is a girl, but Fem!Shin has to rationalize even more. I started thinking about how Fem!Shin might worry that she’s too old or not pretty enough for Kanna’s affection? Personally, it makes me emotional in canon how Shin was sure that Kanna would pick Sara over him if she had the Sacrifice. We know he feels self-conscious about it. I like to wonder what his thoughts were. Fem!Shin’s worries might look a little bit different, even if they’re worrying about the same problem.
As for Shin and Sara, their rivalry would also look different, even if it’s subtle. Fem!Shin would lose the advantage of “being a man,” though she still has the advantage of age. Maybe Sara would sympathize more easily with another woman? Maybe she’d feel a little sad that Fem!Shin won’t join the group of “The Idiot Girls”? Or perhaps their arguments would turn even pettier. I do want Sara to still be able to attack Fem!Shin to try to claim the smartphone!! Just because you’re a woman, don’t think I’ll go easy on you!
Those were my main ideas, Anon! Thank you for the fascinating question. I did my best with it!

Her.
Tumblr media
Her wings were tied to her back with a red wire. The smallest of movement the wire would sting her and her wings would go smaller. Cold iron is what the wire was laced in, a weakness she had the unfortunate to gain as well from her mother’s side of the family.
The cage that Alia was traveling in smelled like dried blood and it made Alia nauseous. It had only been a couple of hours since she was taken from her home and she prayed that Samuel had found Alucard in time.
Alia had seen these men before whenever she travelled into town to get food, they were hunters who searched for fairies and sprites. They take them back to their camps and use take away their wings to crush them into currency that is very valuable to the black market.
Flashback
After Alucard left, Alia tended to making dinner for her niece and nephew. It was a bit late to make a lot of food and she decided to give the both of them rice with broth and meat.
While she was preparing dinner, a glass had broke in another room and Alia rolled her eyes. Her niece was a curious little thing and liked to touch stuff that she knows she shouldn’t be touching.
“What was that?” She called out over her shoulder. Silence was all she received and Alia set down the small cut of meat on the counter to follow where she heard the sound.
“Desiana and Samuel, I asked you what that noise was, don’t ignore me-” she began to fuss but, once she entered her small living area her rant halted as her eyes widened.
Two men held up a sword to both her niece and nephew’s necks and the third man in the room sat in her lounge chair, fiddling with a dagger.
“Well, well it seems we have more than one fairy in the house, boys. Looks like our pay day has been tripled.” His eyes turned to look at Desiana and he grinned greedily.
“The younger they are, the more profitable their wings are.” His men chuckle darkly and Alia straightened her back. She needed to be careful about how she was going to approach this.
“Wait, you don’t want them.” Alia told him and the man turned to her with a raised eyebrow.
“And why’s that? They fairies too ain’t they?” He asked pointing the dagger at her relatives.
Alia quickly shook her head.
“No, they have goblin blood in them, they do not share the fairy blood like I do.” Alia says.
It was true, when her older brother married, his wife was half goblin and half slyph, her niece and nephew’s fairy heritage was too small of a chance for them to gain wings. Perhaps when they both grew older they would grow their wings then due to their slyph blood.
“I am the one you want, I have fairy blood.” She placed a hand on her chest and the man looked in her to see if she was fibbing.
“Prove it then.”
“What?”
“Prove that you are really a fairy and we’ll leave.” He tells Alia who stared at him in disbelief.
Sighing in annoyance, Alia closed her eyes in concentration and felt the power of her magic surge throughout her body. The sound of fluttering resonated in the room as her silver wings made their appearance.
Breathing out a sigh of relief, Alia’s eyes opened and suddenly she felt her lower body be seized and the feeling of being burned started around her arms and her wings. Cold iron. A fairy’s weakness, it was pretty difficult to find in this part of the country and it was very expensive. How did these guys get their hands on it?
Screaming out in pain, Alia fell to her knees and grunted as the wire squeezed her midsection tighter.
The man above her grinned darkly as he knelt in front of Alia, grabbing her hair and pulled her up to force her eyes to look up at him.
“Looks like we were in the right place then. Thank you for that demonstration, sweetheart” he releases her hair and Alia’s head laid back on the ground as the wire tightens again.
“We can go ahead and take our profits and get properly paid. Men! Bag her up! And make sure this place is searched for any other ‘treasures’.” His smirks widens as his men began to destroy her house.
Taking what they saw would be valuable and knock down anything that was in their way.
“What bout these two?” One of the two men who were still holding Desiana and Samuel, asked their leader.
The leader turned to look at the two children and scoffed.
“They’re nothing worth of value, get rid of ‘em.” He says and Alia’s eyes widened.
“No! Don’t hurt them!” She cries, as she moves to sit on her knees. The leader grabs the wire and pulls her to her feet and grabs the back of her head to make her grunt.
“Aunt Alia!” Samuel cried out as the man holding him held the knife closer to his neck.
“Run!” Alia yells with a whimper as the fist in her hair tightened.
“You said they had goblin and sylph blood. I don’t need them. You should have just kept your mouth shut, and maybe they would live.” He whispered to Alia and began guiding her out of her home as her niece and nephew screamed.
“You won’t get away with this!” Alia growls to the man then felt herself become airborne. She landed inside a wooden cage and watched as the gate closed with a heavy thunk.
The leader grins sickly at Alia and fixes the coat her wore on his shoulders.
“I believe I just did. Let’s load up and head out!” He whistles to his men who came rushing out of the house with large bags of valuables.
Alia watched in horror as her house was suddenly lit on fire. The screams of her niece and nephew made Alia lose a piece of her heart.
“No! Nooooo!” She screamed as she struggled in her binds. The jerk of the cage moving by the horses hooked up to it made Alia struggle harder.
“Samuel! Desiana! Nooo!” She cries as the burning of the wire sunk deeper into her midsection and her wings were separating.
Falling to her side, Alia felt pain on her body and also inside her heart. The sobs quickly left her lips as the heartbroken fairy was led away from her burning home.
She had lost everything. Her little niece and nephew. Her home. And she wouldn’t be able to see Adrian again and tell him how much she loved him.
‘Please Adrian. Please...help me.’ She thought sadly.
End of flashback
“Take her over there!” The leader of the posse that had taken her earlier yelled as she felt the cage she was in turn in a different direction.
“Make sure that the cage is locked nice and tight. I don’t want our little fairy to fly away.” He chuckles darkly at Alia’s passing cage.
The fairy glared angrily at the man and he grinned in return.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With Alucard
The dhampir stood with his father in front of a mirror in the main gears room where the castle was able to be moved from place to place and Alucard watched anxiously as his father raised his hand to the mirror and the reflection shifted to show a camp.
Alucard was mesmerized by the large camp, how was this place not discovered by anyone?
“This is as far as the mirror will allow us to see,” Dracula turns to his son and Alucard drew closer to the mirror to see if he could spot Alia. So far, he had only seen creatures in chains and cages and a lot of humans guarding them.
“What is this?” Alucard asks and Dracula looks at the mirror once more.
“It seems to be a black market for supernatural beings. These camps have been stationed everywhere in the country. A posse that works on and off with the church.” Dracula clenched his fists at this.
He had seen these types of camps in his human years and each one were more brutal than the last. If the creatures they had hoarded did not live up to being worth any value they would destroy them then move on to the next one to see if they were the better choice.
“Alia!” Alucard’s cry for the woman’s name made his father’s focus return to the mirror.
The reflection showed the caged woman and Alucard’s face was almost smushed against the mirror to see the fairy’s deflated state.
Her body twitched and Alia’s body moved to the side to show her face. Her teeth were gritted and her beautiful hair was ruffled and it looked like someone had pulled on it.
Seeing the state she was in was all the information, Alucard needed as he adjusted his sword on his side and turned to his father with a scowl on his face.
“I’m going to get her out of there.”
“You cannot go alone.” Dracula told his son.
“She needs me!”
“There are too many men! You’ll be killed!”
“I don’t care!” Alucard yells at his father and Dracula took a step back in disbelief. His son had never talked to him this way.
“I won’t leave her alone! They’ll kill her and I refuse to lose her.” He tells his father and Dracula was at a loss of words.
“Adrian-”
“If this were mother you would be doing the same!” He continues and Dracula sighed placing a hand on his temple.
“I have told you before, Adrian. You cannot just go in the mirror head on without a plan. You’ll get yourself killed and I believe that you should bring someone with you.” Dracula said as he approached a door and grabbed the handle.
“And who would that be?” Alucard asked.
Dracula smirks at his son and opens the door as two people stepped into the room.
“I’m sure you are familiar with these two. It has been a while since you last seen them.” Dracula says as he steps back a bit to allow the two people to walk up to a shocked Alucard.
The one of the left placed a hand on their hip and a smirk lifted to their face.
“Don’t look so shocked, it just makes you look more like an ugly bastard.” They tease as the other pops their shoulder in discipline.
“Trevor, have some respect!” The smaller one fusses as the one and only Trevor Belmont scoffs.
“He knows it’s true Sypha, that’s why he still looks like that.” Alucard couldn’t believe his own eyes.
Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades were standing right here in front of him. His two traveling companions that had helped him in the past.
(A/N: I know this is not what Trevor and Sypha were originally in the game for but, since this is my story telling I decided to bend the tale just this one time.)
“What-How-” Alucard turned to his father and the older vampire smiles.
“I had contacted them to come by and thankfully they were in the town nearby to help you.” Dracula said.
“But, how-”
“Who cares about how we got here? What’s the problem?” Trevor interrupts as both Sypha and Alucard glare at him.
“I see you haven’t changed a bit, Belmont.” Alucard banters and turns back to the mirror which showed Alia’s twitching body.
“I need to help my...” Alucard didn’t know how explain his relationship with Alia and he cleared his throat.
“The woman in the mirror needs my help,” he moves to the side and allowed his friends to look in the reflection to see Alia as well.
“Is she...a fae?” Sypha asked in disbelief. Her eyes were mesmerized by her silver wings.
“Half fae, yes.”
“What’s so special about her?” Trevor asks and Alucard glares at him again.
“She was taken by the men from this camp and they plan to use her to sell her to the black market. I cannot allow that to happen.” Alucard says as he stares longingly at Alia’s defeated body.
Trevor and Sypha saw the look Alucard gave the woman and gave each a knowing look.
“Well, if you say she’s important then I supposed we have no choice.” Trevor says as he cracks his neck.
“We would be honored to help you again, Alucard.” Sypha told the golden haired man with a smile.
Alucard smiled at the both of them and nodded in thanks.
“So, how do we proceed?” Sypha asked.
“We leave by nightfall but, we need a plan on how to get her out without causing too much revealing of ourselves.” Alucard says.
“I believe I may have a suggestion.” A new voice spoke up and the four turned to the door to see Lisa there with her hands on her hips and a smile on her lips.
