I wonder what Andrea and Austin would think if Haylor happens again cause they were the ones he spent most time with from her family...

They’d be cool with it, they let Taylor do what she wants and trust her judgement. Besides, Harry and Taylor were both pretty close with each other’s families. After their date in Central Park, Taylor had dinner with Robin + Anne (Robin said she was very kind and natural), and Taylor also spent Christmas with his family. Harry apparently won over Taylor’s mom, plus we know he flew her and Taylor out with him during TMH tour. Based on the pics of them + Austin at the tattoo place ( at 1 AM, mind you), it’s also easy to see he established a pretty solid relationship with him, as well :)

yes okay it def was lower, not higher then because that's exactly what we were talking about, just like making Louis sing weird ass notes that aren't suited. aren't the people working with them supposed to be professionals?? listening to it drives me nuts for exactly the reasons you describe. like you said, they were so boxed in vocally, and I think it's just like lazy of their team not to help them with that aspect of it, esp in earlier stuff.

why wouldn't you lead them to be the strongest they can be vocally??? oh right, because you don't care about Louis you only care about the three you think are the most able vocalist. HEY LOOK I'M SALTY. I cannot listen to early 1D albums bc the lack of Louis or Niall. I'm like sorry I don't... care if they're not on it. I think that's why Four is my fave, because it's obvious they were FINDING what they needed, and I think if they kept heading in that direction with Zayn

they would have nailed it, but Zayn left and they got to nail it with mitam so. at least like, they were able to get there? idk still makes me sad so w/e... related! it's actually really interesting bc with that new band prettymuch, the two songs they've put out, someone doesn't get a solo. like austin didn't have a solo the first song they put out, and now with the second song, he has a solo and someone else doesn't.

which you'd think sucks for the person left out, but it leaves room for showcasing vocal ability and it's evened out on other songs, like imo that's preferable to going line-by-line, and they rely p heavily on the four part harmony as opposed to two part like 1D seemed to do. I thought that was such an interesting distinction, maybe simon's learning from his mistakes. *eye roll emoji*

That’s what i always think about too. Like why are none of the professionals they worked with actually....... analysing and identifying their strengths like it makes no sense rofl. I assume they were analysed and designated parts back when making UAN and didn’t account for any of the growth any of them made whatsoever. I don’t really listen to much of UAN though, just because it’s not really my style. I do jam HARD to TMH just because that album is a pop icon but i definitely agree that Nouis had such a lack of experimental vocals. Probably the most exciting thing either of them got vocally on that album was Louis’ parts in Rock Me.

That’s interesting about Prettymuch though! I agree that you don’t have to give everyone a solo in every song. Different songs will have different arrangements and it’s okay to let some take the lead on some songs and then switch it up with others.

Also as a sidenote with this whole vocal discussion and harmonies, i just wanna say two of the most blessed moments in 1D’s history were when Nouis sang together. Their harmony in Through the Dark as well as their shared/alternating verse in Once In A Lifetime doubled my lifespan and i’m gonna outlive everyone on this planet. Their voices are so sweet together :’)))))))))
