I know only a few people remember Psych Hunter and no one remembers the original novel that Psych Hunter is adapted from (btw it’s called Xiongzhai Biji — or Haunted Houses Handbook). Personally, I even thought that the franchise went dead.

But voila, today, out of freakin’ nowhere, another drama based on Xiongzhai Biji just got aired on Tencent. And this drama even gets to keep the same name as the novel!

Also apparently this time, they promise they will stick more closely to the novel and not anyhow insert a just-for-the-sake-of-cheap-romance female lead *shoot a deadly glare at Psych Hunter*.

Bromance fans, horror fans, supernatural fans, I have no idea if this drama will be good or bad (to be safe, I’d say let’s just keep our expectations not too high), but I really need to shout to y’all about it:

You. Thoughts on uni2 story content?

admittedly i havent played the Most bc ive been recovering from getting my teeth yoinked and fighting game takes too much brain power atm BUT. confused as to why theres no proper story mode like chronicle was in cl-r, as for arcades- intrigued by linne's specifically and tbh kinda happy about it. enk's is SO...... BITING HIM. CARMINE'S IS FUCKING BONKERS BUT HONESTLY I CAN'T SAY I EXPECTED ANY LESS FROM HIS CRAZY ASS

overall. in general. Tonally. the Finality of it feels. not. actually? there? really? it seems arbitrary. it's hard to have actual like. how do i put it. meat. of a story. without a real story mode. like all we get are arcades??? both from a storytelling standpoint and also like ALL the promo material it kinda falls flat on what was promised, or at least Implied. i was literally streaming it for my bf day 1 and when i opened the game one of the first things i said was "wait there's no actual story mode option?" to have such heavy emphasis on how this is the End this is the Last one For Real feels forced when we haven't had any legit buildup to that point and even in the game itself aside from cliche anime vague dialogue about how This Needs To End and whatnot it doesn't narratively convey this all that effectively

like personally im not all that . idk. disappointed? by that bc i still need to catch up on chronicle mode from cl-r and haven't had time/focus to do so buuuuut... like. idk it feels weird now? why'd they throw chronicle into the middle game and now leave the supposed last one hanging. especially when theres a lot of loose plot threads that arent getting delivered on adequately, and by the fundamental nature of arcade modes in fighting games none of them are exactly fully 100% for real canon because there's a lot of contradictions so........ what does actually happen. kuon dies yeah sure that was his whole thing and kinda the whole conceit of this game sure sure whatever but like what ELSE? esp with carmine's arcade being so tonally weird the whole time and him talking about how he's dying anyway like SURE IN HIS ENDING HE GOES FULLY APESHITT BUT LIKE WHAT HAPPENS TO HIM FOR REALSIES DOES HE JUST DESPAWN?

all this aside its fun and i like it and all howwwwever there is a slight sense of like.. barring system rework and ui updates it feels like this could just be cl-r dlc of kaguya tsurugi and kuon and not a hell of a lot would change overall?

Hum I'm gonna give it to 911 writers for writing one of the best disabled characters on TV. Chris cp is not downplayed, but it's not his only personality trait, and not all of his storylines are about it either and I really like it. They're not infantalising him now that he is a teen, they're allowing him to grow into a messy teen and that's really cool.

Like not only is it logical for Chris to develop some early bpd traits with his abandonment trauma, but it's also bold of the writers to allow a disabled teen to have this messy relationship with his sexuality. Disabled characters are always desexualised, and they were like "nop, that kid is gonna date 5 different girls at once".

Author of KDTM Says She's Writing the Uncle CP Story in New Story 《契羁》

Lin Peiyu (original author and also the screenwriter) casually announced that she's writing the full 30+ years story between Chen Dongyang and Zhou Minglei after seeing how popular the storyline was!!!!!

(1) Lin Peiyu saying that (since it wasn't in the novel) she designed this story for the uncle CP in four scenes and tried her best to show the distance, the resentment, the arguments, the making up for loss time & for each other, and fulfilling their promises. She tried her best to hint at a story spanning 30 years, years of missed out on each other, and it is precisely because they missed out, that Chen Dongyang and Zhou Minglei SPECIALLY set up the fake shooting, so the kids they watched grow up wouldn't miss out on each other like they did.

(2) She thanks Xie Chengjun and Liang Zhe for bringing the uncle CP to life, AND to LOOK OUT FOR HER NEW STORY TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED in THESE 30 YEARS?!!!

Heyyyy, hope it's okay to randomly drop by! THANK YOU for the post on Jedi Apprentice!! It's completely ruined Qui-Gon's character in fanon and provided a very weird basis for anti-Jedi arguments, mostly based on third hand information filtered through fanfiction. The actual books portray such an interesting, complex storyline for Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon and it just gets flattened into "okay here's why Qui-Gon was the worst ever and Obi-Wan needed CPS to save him and clearly would have been better off without the Jedi." I am all for Qui-Gon having trauma and struggling as a master at times but the whole dang point is that ultimately Obi-Wan loved him and missed him and regarded him as a great Jedi and good man. That's just missing nowadays and it's so hard to find anything that portrays Obi Wan and Qui Gon's relationship as complicated but ultimately loving. Gahhh, it's frustrating!!!

It's not even just that Qui-Gon was a good person, but that he was genuinely a good MASTER. Like the period of time prior to Melida/Daan lasts maybe a few WEEKS. There's only a couple of books before Melida/Daan happens and they pretty much run from one event to the next over the course of maybe several days in each book. They BARELY know each other before Melida/Daan happens and then they're apart for probably a few months before reuniting when Obi-Wan calls for help. And while Qui-Gon does struggle a little during the Zan Arbor books (he seems to think they're doing a lot better than Obi-Wan does and doesn't realize just how much uncertainty Obi-Wan still has left), they seem to communicate just fine after the time jump to the New Apsolon arc. Qui-Gon's taking Obi-Wan on a lil vacation right at the beginning, he abandons the mission to save Tahl when Obi-Wan gets hurt because he recognizes his first priority HAS to be his Padawan, and when he hears a voice telling him not to kill someone out of vengeance he assumes that it's Obi-Wan. They clearly have a fairly positive relationship at this point and while Qui-Gon is struggling with other stuff during this arc, the relationship with Obi-Wan himself seems to have really grown and he actively DOESN'T just up and abandon Obi-Wan out of attachment. And during the whole finale, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon communicate really well, there's obvious trust and comfort and familiarity there that they can lean on now and they end up succeeding at keeping conflict from erupting due to their teamwork.

They grow TOGETHER and they become a really good master/padawan pair for each other. Yes, they had a complicated beginning, but it doesn't actually define their ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP either the way people seem to think it does. I constantly see people saying that Qui-Gon was always placing Obi-Wan second to his attachments to Xanatos or Tahl or Anakin and it just... isn't true, in canon OR in Jedi Apprentice. They're SO in sync in TPM, there's so much clear trust between them and the ability to communicate with very little actually said out loud. It doesn't stop Obi-Wan from expressing a differing opinion or his own frustrations when he feels it's important, but Qui-Gon also never holds it against him and Obi-Wan is smart enough and good enough to recognize when he needs to apologize and Qui-Gon's response is to tell him that he's a wiser Jedi than Qui-Gon is. Their relationship isn't any more complicated than any other normal relationship. It's just... a relationship between two people who can occasionally have a disagreement without it completely imploding the entire relationship.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's relationship is SO IMPORTANT, not just to me personally, but to the narrative and to Obi-Wan's character. Obi-Wan learns FROM Qui-Gon, in so many ways. He takes over Qui-Gon's mission because he loves and believes in Qui-Gon enough to recognize its importance, and Qui-Gon comes back even after death to help Obi-Wan one last time. The entire Kenobi show has him reaching out to Qui-Gon for strength and guidance over and over again, but he's only able to see Qui-Gon when he realizes he can stand on his own. That feels like the EPITOME of what a healthy master/padawan relationship looks like. The master guides, yes, but they aren't a crutch for the padawan, the student still has to walk that path themselves.

Buddie 607 meta

I thought Felisa’s introduction was an interesting one. She’ll be closely associated with Eddie throughout the ep and by the end of it, we’ll see more layers to her, but the intro still presents her life as being to a great degree fake and shallow, very much revolving around putting on a show for her audience. Not to mention, Athena letting us know that Felisa at one point acted in such a violent and even life-endangering manner isn’t there for nothing. I found it an interesting choice to clue the audience in from the get go that this is not someone who is greatly compatible with Eddie, but even more so, that she’s not exactly someone who has room in her life to co-parent a kid with CP. And once again, it hit me hard, how in comparison, from 201 already we saw how similar Buck and Eddie are, and from 202 how much Buck would adore this kid,care about him, be a good co-parent and make all the room for Chris in his life.

~~ We saw in previous eps that when something is up with Buck, Eddie always notices it. So it came as no surprise he was the first to raise an eyebrow at Buck’s diet change. However, I had to scream a little about the shot that reveals this (and had to gif it). They could have focused on Buck’s glass after he was seated, they could have filmed him torso up. But no, they let Buck sit down as the camera follows him, and more than that, they had him sit down in profile, which emphasizes the crotch area way more than if he were to sit down normally and we’d get a frontal shot. This is intentional as all heck, and the framing expressions on Eddie’s face as he watches him, making it seem like Buck’s crotch is what he’s noticing, it’s too much to all be coincidental. ~~

But back to Eddie being THE team member with Buck senses that tingle, this ep showed us that it’s not just us thinking their bond is unique. The fact that we get a zoom in on Bobby looking at Eddie with an inquiring expression and gesture with Athena also turning his attention to him to get his reaction, and that Eddie without even a pause says he doesn’t know what’s up with Buck, it once again demonstrates that the trope of “everyone sees it” is true for Buddie. Everyone around them is completely aware that these two are married. ~~

Okay, regarding Buck’s sperm donation, the universe was CLEARLY screaming at him that this shouldn’t happen. In an ep that directly references back to 406, where Buck first tells Eddie that, and in doing so reveals himself to be someone who believes in listening to signs, and who reaffirms that this hasn’t changed because when his secret comes out he mutters to himself, “Stupid bracelet curse,” it’s very interesting that he ignores it all and goes ahead with the donation (at least for now). I do assume that the point is whatever he chooses, it will be his choice. He’s not being superstitious, or latching onto excuses, he's choosing his own path, and that will play into the rest of this storyline in terms of his growth as a person. ~~

Small side note from a gay person who knows a lot of gay couples that had to use sperm donations: men have to abstain from masturbation to do a sperm count, it’s not a personal choice, and the period of time to abstain is 2-7 days. Anything above that makes the sample worse in terms of sperm quality. My point is, Buck was trying to make things better, but he actually made them worse. I trust the writers did their basic research and they know this fact. ~~

The oblivious Eddie vibes were strong in this ep. While we got the background story for his disbelief in the supernatural, it also generally demonstrated that Eddie doesn’t tend to believe in that which he can’t see with his own eyes. He needs palpable proof, and neither emotions nor their significance can be proven that way, which might explain why he keeps missing the signs regarding what he and Buck really have. ~~

Something that got to me (and can also be counted in the “oblivious Eddie” column) was Felisa telling him that Alexis is all she has. As Eddie suspects this assistant of wrongdoing, he will later in the ep tell Felisa he knows Alexis is the only one she feels she can count on. It was just really loud to me, Eddie can try and talk to Felisa about what this means because he knows exactly what it’s like to have someone like that, Buck. So the subtext parallels Alexis with Buck, which means I was watching with interest to see what will we discover about this assistant? Even though everything seemed to point to her being guilty, if she was subtly paralleled with Buck, I was pretty convinced it would turn out she wasn’t the one hurting Felisa. I loved finding out that this ended up being the case. And I also thought it was interesting that in this context, Eddie brings up the tsunami in the ep’s last scene. The only way he thinks he can turn this woman’s POV around is to give Chris as an example. And that is exactly what he was doing for Buck as well, in 301. Not to mention, Buck embraced the insight Eddie was offering him during his chat with Chris in 302. Even in terms of the character’s name (yes, the name geek is about to strike again), Felisa comes from the Spanish version of the Roman name Felix, which means “lucky,” but also “happy” (for example, ‘felix finis’ means “happy ending” in Latin), and who do we know who’s been on a quest to find his happiness this season? This ep might not have been Buddie heavy in the text itself, but Buck was there, between the lines of Eddie’s storyline, the whole time.

And that can also be seen in the moment when Eddie expresses his notion that he’s starting to think he might be the one who’s cursed. It’s the dramatic turn point in that arc and, despite Hen and Chim being the ones more closely associated for most of the ep with the whole thing (the ones who talk to Eddie about it, expresses their fear and superstition, trying to keep a distance from the bracelet), it’s Buck that Eddie says those words to. That’s the show telling us it recognizes that everything has more potency when it’s between those two. Plus, it’s also a reminder that even in the middle of his own trouble with his sperm donation, Buck will always check in on Eddie. ‘Coz that’s just how soulmates roll.

season 11 the house almost gets lost and debbie has to do wild shit to try to get it back

and what does season 3 have?? ALL OF THAT. ALL AT ONCE. in my opinion, it’s the best gallavich storyline, it’s the perfect amount of drama and comedy (shameless usually struggles with that balance), we get so many iconic storylines like svetlana and mickey’s wedding, the start of ian showing symptoms of bipolar, hymie, karen vs mandy (or karen x mandy LMAO), lip’s alcoholism, frank’s arrest and liver failure, the kids getting taken away, the sleepover, frank ruining debbie’s project, cousin patrick, kev and carol, kev and his ex wife, molly milkovich, and literally so much more

Buckle up. This is long.

Last night after dinner w/my fam I watched the SAG awards so I am a little behind on the conversation around the Chris Evans Clown Show Comedy Hour. However I read a couple of asks received by @nancydrewwouldnever about how he’s been looking like the Raggedy Andy version of his normal self these past few months and I couldn’t agree more.

I thought so watching the SMA videos People put out.

Back during my more naïve days, I just thought he was possibly exhausted and that could very well still be true. But after the rabbit hole I’ve been down for the past couple of months, I am of the opinion he's exhausted for a different reason than work requirements. Which is just that – my opinion: observation mixed with speculation.

I don’t think this RS – if it is rooted in PR like I think it is – was ever intended to last this long. From what I have gathered, the Netflix show and movie for which AB would have benefited the most having a lot of attention were originally supposed to both release in the first half of 2022. One or both were delayed, the show being very delayed -from first/second quarter all the way to the last quarter of the year. So not only did she lose out on a bump for the movie, but by the time her show finally launched it pretty much had already been axed by NF. So when Mr. SMA 2022 does the CP Marathon (horribly) with her, the only project she has going on at the time is hanging by a thread.

That's her fault for being lazy and entitled. A million golden opportunities were missed by her/her team, but I feel like Chris wasn’t going to sell anything very well anyway, as he likely was being pissy about this situationshit lasting so long. Which led me to thinking that “laser focus” press question was a plant to tie back to the earlier article BUT made me think it could possibly have been contrived as a way to signify the end of their "RS" had it gone to plan. The question would allow room for him to insinuate he was single again and “focused on finding the right partner” to “pour himself into” bc “awe, shucks, I’m just so unlucky in love…” 💀

BUT THAT CAN’T HAPPEN… he can’t signal the end of something that hasn’t yet been announced. So it looked to the viewer, and especially his fandom, that he was signaling his singlehood – and for his fans, to debunk the rumors flying around about his Lolita. NOW he has to stutter around and trap himself in word prisons and go take a quick pap sprint the same time as SMA announcement bc that’s when the show drops and do more photos and BS to sell the OVER year-long narrative when they were really prepped to do a 9ish-mos storyline. All the OG pics and scares (IMO) that were preemptively shot not only look slightly better but they also would have fit in with starting the RS storyline Fall 2021 and, if nothing would have been delayed, the end falling somewhere Summer 2022.

I think this is why he does such a shit job selling it. He struggles to sell intimacy anyway, but he’s not even giving it the ole college try bc he’s pissed off that it’s taken more time than he expected and dragging his feet. I mean…. All these rumors about the same chick for months HAS to have a negative impact on his harem, right?? 😂 Now she’s pissed that he’s dragging his feet – or maybe she wanted it to turn into more than what it is and he’s noped the fuck out – so she throws a hissy fit with the yoga cert mess, her mom’s pic, and her OF shower pictorial.  

It's possible had this not dragged along for this long, all the dirt that has surfaced RE: her and her sOuLMaTes being racist, antisemetic, fat phobic, basically all around horrendous ppl that has TANKED his image and lost him a good portion of his fandom would have maybe not surfaced. The mess would have been announced, been annoying, and been over before anyone cared enough to dig that much - or at least make that big of a deal about it, bc he would have been rid of her. I know that this dumpster fire mimics SS a lot but I think that Chris agreeing to a much shorter version in the beginning is why there are SO MANY pictures all at once. He probs didn't want to do this for the 2 years or whatever that SS committed to.

I think he has thrown his own tantrum of “I ain’t doin this shit anymore” and has left it to someone else to handle which is why he is AWOL from everywhere, including going out to dinner with his friend/castmates, and not doing his own SM anymore (I personally don’t think he’s posting anything at all right now himself). Seems he’s also made sure that he/his team control the mass narrative to the GP.

I think they’re riding this shit show out until the end, letting their teams do whatever they need to do. Even if she has the DESIRE to show up for anything like the Twitter reading (was she even invited? Was she wanted by her castmates/showrunners? Hollywood is show BUSINESS afterall so even if she wasn’t wanted she would be expected to show up to make good on production companies’ investments & save face?) the situations aren’t really going to be great for her. There would be – and SHOULD BE – backlash involving the discriminatory posts, which she obvs has no intentions of denouncing. IMO she should have done it anyway for her fans, but her not doing it goes a long way to prove her entitlement, lazy ass attitude, and ungratefulness. But from the looks of  those Star Power reports from IMDB that someone shared, it’s not her that’s hurting… it’s HIM. 🤡

He’s suffering greatly, which is also deserved, and he very likely knows it. It has taken a noticeable toll on his looks, his presence, his gait, and his energy. He looks like a shell of his former self bc he is. And he’s seemingly off licking his wounds until he can start his Chris Evans Redemption Tour.

I would like to put it out into the universe that my birthday is next month and it falls within their usual “drop” timeframe so it would be a fantastic birthday gift if March’s bomb was the BUA.

• she loves Jennifer love Hewitt already but she also totally agreed with her making madney happen instead of Maddie and Eddie and was glad they went with that route instead

• I’d say the episode she most got into so far was Maddie and Doug episode, heist episode and the first episode

• she hated buck and Abby together and was grossed out by the age difference (when Bobby met Abby she was like THEYRE MORE SIMILAR IN AGE AND COULD BE A COUPLE THE WAITER AT BUCK AND ABBYS DATE PROBABLY THOUGHT SHE WAS HIS MOM)

•she liked the detail of Chris forgetting how many surgeries he’s had cos she was like that was so perfectly written for a kid character

• she hated the hen cheating storyline

why do people think if you like a character it means you think they can do no wrong?

liking a character ≠ excusing their past/awful behaviour.

just because i like billy and think he didn’t deserve to die, because underneath all of that he was, really, just a scared 18 year old boy who’d been a subject of abuse for years and years. a boy who needed help but has instead been villainized his entire life, doesn’t mean i think how he treated max, steve and lucas was okay in any way. because it wasn’t. why do people think all billy stans are incapable of acknowledging his wrong doings?

why was steve let off so easily after using a homophobic slur and bringing up joyce and will against jonathan? on top of just being a complete douchebag.

why was jonathan let off so easily after taking pictures of nancy in her bra when she was about to sleep with steve? not only was he taking pervy pictures, he was taking pervy pictures of a 16 year old which meant those pictures were considered CP.

they both got a chance to change, a redemption arc, and are now some of the most beloved characters in the series. (however personally i’m still iffy about jonathan)

billy, however, was never given a chance to change, instead he was deemed a sociopathic, sadistic 18-year-old up to his death. why was he not given a chance at a redemption arc? i’ll never fully understand why he had to die. he died thinking no one cared enough to want to help him. thinking he deserved everything he got. a mother who left him, a father who abused him, having no support system whatsoever and having to rely on himself.

that’s why i think his character and storyline was very poorly handled. he would’ve been an amazing addition to the group and maybe we could’ve finally gotten to see him and max getting to be like real siblings.

but the suffer brothers are cowards and clearly couldn’t handle such a complex character. not only would it have been another awesome character added to the list, it would’ve shown real abuse victims that they can change and that they deserve to be saved and loved. but all they did was point a big middle finger at them.

General complaint, not directed at you:

*sigh* I know the batfandom likes to play trauma olympics, but if i see one more take that argues that the batkids have so much more trauma than bruce who has been in comics since *looks up specific number* 1939, almost a century, and has everything bad happening to him at least once. Not to mention how DC wants to keep him young, which means they condense all his stories into less than twenty years. And this is how we could have a dead batman, an outcast batman and a family dad batman all in different runs simultaneously. Dude gets tortured in one comic and has a messy love life in the next, while losing his mind because fucking... six or more entities are fighting over him in the other six runs.

What I'm getting at is, trauma olympics are not allowed unless my fave is winni-

My real point is this: where did bruce's character trait of internalising things vanish to? Because now it's more like lashing out and blowing up all the time. Something bad happens to him, he bottles it up, doesn't wanna talk about it and pushes people away who try to push him to open up. No, he doesn't just arbitrarily lash out every chance he gets. Yes, he loses control when reaching a breaking point but that can't be happening every issue in every comic because that man has been shown to be able to work under immense pressure and not to lash out unless it's all over and some time has passed and somebody's needling him to talk about it.

This is really badly writting (my comment, not the comics, although this applies to them too lmao) and not coherent at all but if you have opinions about this, please share.

To summerize my incoherent ask: Has batman lost his character trait of internalising things and was it changed to lashing out because of literally anything? I'm aware the answer changes depending on if you're talking about Batman comics with no Robins in sight, a JL comic, or a Batman comic WITH Robins in it.

Such a good point about the trauma Olympics tho, I really agree because it feels like everyone's favorite has to have All The Traumas before they can be valid for feeling some way about them which is, slow down, it's fine, they can be complex characters without the entire CPS checklist

I think you did answer your own question though, with "depending on if you're talking about a comic with no Robins, or a JL, or a 'batfamily' comic" because the problem I have with how Bruce is written a lot nowadays is that he's not so much a character as a plot device. Need an ally to betray the JL? Bruce. Need someone to misunderstood Robin? Bruce. Need someone to get all the love interests and inter-dimensional entities drooling over his brain? Bruce.

Some of those scenarios will make sense, obviously, but sometimes it feels like the writers needed a big name to act a certain way to move the story along.

Take for example the Tower of Babel storylines, where Bruces paranoia? Makes sense! He has been betrayed by allies, he has experience with mind control and the consequences of actions taken under mind control, he understands the need for containment in those situations!

His actions tho??? The contingency plans, specifically for Superman? Are torture. And that doesn't fit his personality or the purpose of his plans at all!!!!! It's about containment and harm reduction, always. Not. Whatever the fuck is going on there.

So I think the problem with Batman, beyond bad faith criticism of his concept, and bad writing, is overexposure. He should not be in so many titles, with so many people writing him, and so little care about his consistency.

Until then unfortunately, he's going to feel wildly different in every comic he's in.

Hi! I just saw that you didn't like Season 3 and I was wondering if you could elaborate on that? Personally, I thought it was a bit rushed but overall I did rather enjoy it. Though I guess it also really depends on how the last episode goes, they have a pretty high chance of messing it up.

Hi, well, that is a very loaded question and I could give a very looooooong answer, but I will spare you. I always liked about YR that there was a balance. I always understood where everyone is coming from, and while I was aware that Lisa is very much anti-monarchy, she still wrote a very compelling and complex character with Kristina for instance. And yet in S3 she has a mental breakdown because her son is queer and they are shown as the worst parents in existence, because monarchy equals bad. I just have a hard time understanding this decision and I think it cheapens Kristina's character a lot.

Season 3 was not subtle and very much a “I hate the monarchy and I will let you know why”-message. Personally, while Wille definitely also crossed lines in S3, I find the fandom way too harsh on him and I honestly hate what they did to Simon. Simon put his Instagram account above his boyfriend! I just can’t with this storyline, especially when the chances are very high the series will end with Wille giving it all up. The Royal Court was actually right he should have stayed off Social Media for a bit and yet it was treated like Simon had to sign over his life. I also dislike that they only received negative comments, because apparently the entire country of Sweden is homophobic now, but only got positive feedback when he posted the song. It was just too much on the nose and Lisa didn’t even bother trying to show everything in life, there are always two sides.

I really don’t understand how the series can end with them being together, because they are living in two different worlds, and clearly, they are also not capable of talking because it also was not shown how Wille and Simon actually act as a couple without making out or arguing about the monarchy.

Finally, I have to say all the takes I have seen about Wille either giving it all up, the monarchy crumbling or August taking over: I hate every single one of them. A monarchy cannot be abolished easily, the amount of work and time it needs, it would mean YEARS. August becoming CP, who posted a sex video of two queer teenager is so fucked up, how is this even a popular theory? And Wille giving it all up? WTF is with this fandom that this is so popular? Of course, I want to see an incredible traditional organization like the monarchy adapting and accepting Wille. I am way too pragmatic for my own good, Wille giving it all up would a) lead to so much hate especially against Simon, because people WOULD blame him; and b) every single conservative person in the world would use Wille stepping down as a prime example why queer people cannot be in powerful positions. Plus, we are still talking about Willes parents and family, of course I don’t want him to give it up for a relationship he currently has that by all accounts really will not last, because this season truly failed to show me why they last. Because I can only repeat myself, Simon could not even give up Instagram, but Wille in order to be “free” can uproot his entire life? Sorry, I really am not a fan. I will happily live in a very selective FF-land for the upcoming future when it comes to Wille, Simon and them as a couple.

I GET IT. We want Good Dad!Bruce. We want the batfamily to love each other and be happy.

However, in order for them to be a happy and good family, we do NOT need to make every other parent abusive.

Here are some canon things you may not be aware of:

Janet Drake was a good mum

Tim Drake was never abused or neglected beyond "rich kid grows up in boarding schoom"

Willis Todd was a good husband and father. He never abused Catherine or Jason. He helped Catherine stay clean when he wasn't in jail.

Addiction is an illness and is not reason to vilify Catherine

However it is not a reason to make her a Saint. She was ill, but she could've - and should've - trued to put Jason first. If she couldn't care for him while getting clean, find someone to help her

[side note. the CPS aren't evil. Please stop vilifing them. It does not help minors that might see it and then be afraid to ask CPS for help when they need to]

Oliver Queen is a much better parent if we go by canon, he apologised to Roy for hitting him, he made up with his kids, frequently hugs, and tells them he loves them.

Talia is not an abusive parent. Her being abusive was retconned and was a highly racist storyline to begin with.

Basically. If your qualification for Bruce being a Good Dad is that he isn't explicitly abusive, you need to raise your standards. Anyone would look better and "good" when directly compared to an abuser - especially the more Obvious & Visible Abuse.

If you need to contrast Bruce being a good parent with ABUSERS, maybe he isn't that good of a parent.

Why not make stories of the kids mirroring Bruce actions with their parents in a good way?

instead of "bruce is a good parent because he isn't abusive in this situation like my previous parents did"

maybe "bruce is a good parent because he does this Nice Loving Thing just like my parents used to"

Let people have good parents please. More than one good parent can exist in the same story.

Obviously everyone can write what they want, I'm not here to censor anyone. But consider these points and the different ways stories can be written.
