Ribbons of Scarlet: A predictably terrible novel on the French Revolution (part 1)
Parts 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Q: Why is this post in English? Isn’t this blog usually in French?
A: Yes, but I can’t bypass the chance, however small, that someone in the book’s target audience might see and benefit from what I’m about to say.
Q: Why did you even read this book? Don’t you usually avoid bad French Revolution media?
A: My aunt left the book with me when she came for my defense last November. I could already tell it would be pretty awful and might not have read it except that I needed something that didn’t require too much concentration at the height of the Covid haze and I — like most people who insisted on finishing their doctorate despite the abysmal academic job market — have a problem with the sunk cost fallacy, so once I got started I figured I might as well find out just how bad it got.
Q: Don’t you have papers to grade?
 A: … Next question.
Q: Aren’t you stepping out of your lane as an historian by reviewing historical fiction? You understand that it wasn’t intended for you, right?
 A: First of all, this is my blog, such as it is, and I do what I want. Even to the point of self-indulgence. Why else have a blog? Also, I did receive encouragement. XD;
Second, while a lot of historians I respect consider that anything goes as long as it’s fiction and some even seem to think it’s beneath their dignity to acknowledge its existence, given the influence fiction has on people’s worldview I think they’re mistaken. Besides, this is the internet and no one here has any dignity to lose.
Finally, this is not so much a review in the classic sense as a case study and a critical analysis of what went wrong here that a specialist is uniquely qualified to make, not because historians are the target audience, but because the target audience might get the impression that it’s not very good without being able to articulate why. To quote an old Lindsay Ellis video, “It’s not bad because it’s wrong, it’s bad because it sucks. But it sucks because it’s wrong.” Or, if you prefer, relying on lazy clichés and adopting or embellishing every lurid anecdote you come across is bound to come across as artificial, amateurish and unconvincing.
This is especially offensive when you make grandiose claims about your novel’s feminist message and the “time and care” you supposedly put into your research.
I also admit to having something of a morbid fascination with liberals creating reactionary media without realizing it, which this is also a textbook example of (if someone were to write a textbook on the subject, which they probably should).
With that out of the way, what even is this book?
 The Basics
It’s a collaboration between six historical novelists attempting to recount the French Revolution from the point of view of seven of its female participants. One of these novelists is in fact an historian herself, which is a little bit distressing, given that like her co-authors, she seems to consider people like G. Lenotre reliable sources. But then, she’s an Americanist and I’ve seen Americanists publish all kinds of laughable things about the French Revolution in actual serious works of non-fiction without getting called out because their work is only ever reviewed by other Americanists. So.
Anyway, if you’re familiar with Marge Piercy’s (far superior, though not without its flaws) City of Darkness, City of Light, you might think, “ok, so it’s that with more women.” And you might think that that’s not so bad of an idea; Marge Piercy maybe didn’t go all the way with her feminist concept by making half the point of view characters men (though I’d argue that the way she frames how they view women was part of the point). It’s even conceivable that if Piercy had wanted to make all the protagonists women her publisher would have said no on the grounds of there not being a general audience for that. It was the 1990s, after all.
Except the conceit this time is they’re all by different authors, we have some counterrevolutionaries in the mix, and instead of the POV chapters interweaving, each character gets her own chunk of the novel, generally about 70-80 pages worth, although there are a couple of notable exceptions. We’ll get to those.
 It’s accordingly divided as follows:
·      Part I. The Philosopher, by Stephanie Dray, from the point of view of salonnière, translator, miniaturist and wife of Condorcet, Sophie de Grouchy, “Spring 1786” to “Spring 1789”; Sophie de Grouchy also gets an epilogue, set in 1804
·      Part II. The Revolutionary, by Heather Webb, from the point of view of Reine Audu, Parisian fruit seller who participated in the march on Versailles and the storming of the Tuileries, 27 June-5 October 1789
·      Part III. The Princess, by Sophie Perinot, from the point of view of Louis XVI’s sister Élisabeth, May 1791-20 June 1792
·      Part IV. The Politician, by Kate Quinn, from the point of view of Manon Roland, wife of the Brissotin Minister of the Interior known for writing her husband’s speeches and for her own memoirs, August 1792-(Fall 1793 — no date is given, but it ends with her still in prison)
·      Part V. The Assassin, by E. Knight, which is split between the POV of Charlotte Corday, the eponymous assassin of Marat, and that of Pauline Léon, chocolate seller and leader of the Société des Républicaines révolutionnaires, 7 July-8 November 1793
·      Part VI. The Beauty, by Laura Kamoie, from the point of view of Émilie de Sainte-Amaranthe, a young aristocrat who ran a gambling den and who got mixed up in the “red shirt” affair and was executed in Prarial Year II, “March 1794”-“17 June 1794”
An *Interesting* Choice of Characters…
Now, there are some obvious red flags in the line-up. I’m not sure, if you were to ask me to come up with a list of women of the French Revolution I would come up with one where 4/7 of the characters are nobles/royals — a highly underrepresented POV, as I’m sure you’re all aware — but fine. Sophie de Grouchy is an interesting perspective to include and Mme Élisabeth at least makes a change from Antoinette? And though the execution is among the worst (no pun intended) Charlotte Corday’s inclusion makes sense as she is famous for doing one of the only things a lay audience has unfortunately heard of in association with the Revolution.
Reine Audu is actually an excellent choice, both pertinent and original. Credit where credit is due. Manon Roland and Pauline Léon are not bad choices either in theory, but given the overlap with Marge Piercy’s book, if you’re going to do a worse job, why bother? The inclusion of Sophie de Grouchy, while, again, not a bad choice, also kind of makes this comparison inevitable, as another of Piercy’s POV characters was Condorcet.
But Émilie de Sainte-Amaranthe? I’m not saying you couldn’t write an historically grounded and plausible text from her point of view, but her inclusion was an early tip-off that this was going to be a book that makes lurid and probably apocryphal anecdotes its bread and butter.
The absolute worst choice was to make Pauline Léon only exist — at best — as a foil to Charlotte Corday. (It turns out to be worse than that, actually. She’s less of a foil than a faire-valoir.)
Still, why does no one write a novel about Simone and Catherine Évrard (poor Simone is reduced to “Marat’s mistress” here, not just by Charlotte Corday, which is understandable, but also by Pauline Léon) or Louise Kéralio or the Fernig sisters or Nanine Vallain or Rosalie Jullien or Jeanne Odo or hell, why not one of the dozens of less famous women who voted on the constitution of 1793 or joined the army or petitioned the Convention or taught in the new public schools. Many of them aren’t as well-documented, but isn’t that what fiction is for?
Let’s try to be nice for a minute
There are things that work about this book and while the result is pretty bad, I think the authors’ intentions were good. Like, who could object to the dedication, in the abstract?
This novel is dedicated to the women who fight, to the women who stand on principle. It is an homage to the women who refuse to back down even in the face of repression, slander, and death. History is replete with you, even if we are not taught that, and the present moment is full of you—brave, determined, and laudable.
It’s how they go about trying to illustrate it that’s the problem, and we’ll get to that.
For now, let me reiterate that while I’m not a fan of the “all perspectives are equally valid” school of history or fiction — or its variant, “all *women*’s perspectives are equally valid” — and there are other characters I would have chosen first, it absolutely would have been possible to write something good with this cast of characters (minus making Charlotte Corday and Pauline Léon share a section).
The parts where the characters deal with their interpersonal relationships and grapple with misogyny are mostly fine — I say mostly, because as we’ll see, the political slant given to that misogyny is not without its problems. These are the parts that are obviously based on the authors’ personal experience and as such they ring true, if not always to an 18th century mentality, at least to that lived experience.
Finally, there are occasionally notes that are hit just fine from an historical perspective as well. The author of the section on Mme Élisabeth doesn’t shy away from making her a persistent advocate of violently repressing the Revolution. Manon Roland corresponds pretty well to the picture that emerges from her memoirs even if the author of her section does seem to agree with her that she was the voice of reason to the point of giving her “reasonable” opinions she didn’t actually hold.
I should also note that while the literary quality is not great, it’s not trying to be great literature and in any case, on that point at least, I’m not sure I could do better.
Ok, that’s enough being nice. Tune in next time for all the things that don’t work.

Warning!! Long post ahead (LOL)
I’ve been meaning to do one of these for a while now. Quite a few friends and followers have asked me ‘what big influences can you think of that have inspired you as an artist/creator?’
A lot of movies, games, books, tv series, artists, and writers have influenced my drawing style and storytelling - some of them more so than others. (As represented by the larger squares in the image)
So here we go!! The numbers for each inspiration were chosen at random, the order doesn’t have any significance lol
1. Cardcaptor Sakura - (and the works of CLAMP in general I suppose because I read them all) Cardcaptor Sakura wasn’t my first manga but it holds a really special place in my heart because it’s lore and depictions of love has influenced my storytelling a LOT. I was obsessed with CLAMP and their art style when I was young to the point I would trace their drawings to learn and emulate their style.  To this day I feel like it left a big impact on my art style especially.
2. Cyborg 009 - When I was a kid my parents told me and my brother that we couldn’t afford cable TV and reduced our service to the news channels and public broadcasting.  We didn’t have cable TV for several years and when we finally got it back when I was 12, one of the FIRST TV programs I saw was Cyborg 009. I was just beginning to understand what anime was, since the only anime I’d seen was before our cable got cut, and I was so young I didn’t know it WAS anime. I immediately fell in love with Cyborg 009. I  loved the characters, the story, everything - and I still do! It was the beginning of my exploration of the anime genre as a whole haha
3. ‘The Twelve Kingdoms’ book series  - Around the same time I started watching Cyborg 009, I began getting into manga. While browsing the section in the bookstore one day I came across the first novel in The Twelve Kingdoms series. I was surprised to find a novel in the manga section and decided to browse through it. I couldn’t put it down! The rich world building and storytelling pulled me in and left me wanting more. I devoured the entire book series and the way the world was brought to life really stuck with me and influenced my own world building.
4. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - my very first Final Fantasy game, and it was a spinoff title to boot! I was drawn in by the dark, melancholic world and cute graphics. I played this game a lot with my friends and even though multiplayer was a nightmare to set up, we had so much fun. I wasn’t able to beat it until I was 16, and the story left me in tears. The Crystal Chronicles games as  whole have left a HUGE impact on me, but the first one especially so.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog - My first game ever! My brother and I first played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 when we were around 3 or 4 years old. We were hooked on our parent’s Sega Genesis system and Sonic was our favorite! When we’d get home from school we’d fight over who got to play first in single player, eventually we settled on a system, My brother would play sonic, and since Tails couldn’t die even if he ran out of rings, I would fight all the boss battles as Tails while my brother tried to keep Sonic out of the way. Using this system we made it all the way up to Metal Sonic but could never beat him. We’d have 99 lives too because we knew ALL the secrets of the game LOL. I’ve played most of the Sonic titles since then, including my favorite, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.
6. Sailor Moon - my ‘first’ anime. I was very young when I first saw this anime. I didn’t even know what anime was! But the portrayal of girl power and how strong all the female characters were really stuck out to me, raised as I was in a women-are-inferior-and-should-serve-their-husbands religious household. Sailor Jupiter was my favorite because she was a tomboy and wore ponytails just like me haha
7. Fullmetal Alchemist - I think I’ve touched on this before, but I have had really weak bones since I was a little kid. In middle school I was constantly on and off of crutches or in and out of wheelchairs with broken bones and such. (I blame being a huge clutz) It got to the point my classmates started calling me ‘calamity Jane’ and making fun of me. To that dorky middle school girl with crutches and leg braces, Edward Elric was my HERO. Disability representation matters folks! It certainly helped me through a rough time in my life.
8. The works of Studio Ghibli - My first Ghibli movie was My Neighbor Totoro, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I actually managed to get my mom into them too, so now we can have mother/daughter quality bonding time over new Ghibli movies when they come out. It gives us a lot of fond memories together and I enjoy those times I get to spend with her. Mom and I may not see eye to eye all the time, but I truly treasure the memories I have of watching Ghibli films with her.
9. Odin Sphere - This one is more recent, and one I blame @heebiejeebiejade for. I love everything about it. The story, the art, the characters!   It tore my heart out and the writing is just superb I love it so much. and the ART my god it’s so beautiful.
10. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles the Crystal Bearers - I decided I needed to make this one separate from the earlier Crystal Chronicles section. Mostly because this game HEAVILY influenced and changed my life. Not only is it my favorite game ever, it brought me to many of my current friendships! If not for this game I never would have met @heebiejeebiejade @killerkitty4 @indestructiblemoog @shadyfolk @ninjamonkeystudios and SOOOOO many others. These friendships mean a great deal to me. They’ve changed and shaped who I am today and I’m truly grateful for them, and they never would have been possible without Crystal Bearers.
11. Dragonball - Another one of those I never knew it was Anime cartoons I watched as a young child. I loved Dragonball and later Dragonball Z. The characters, the storytelling, the fight scenes, I loved it all because it was so different from what I was used to seeing in American cartoons. My brother and I would have Super Saiyan battles in our backyard throwing Kamehamehas at each other and laughing and generally annoying our neighbors XD
12. Over the Garden Wall - Another more recent influence. Over the Garden Wall was one of the first new cartoons that grabbed my attention due to it’s great pacing and creepy Americana storytelling. Mysteries, ghosts, the afterlife, purgatory, this show dealt with a lot of creepy things while simultaneously making it funny and endearing. I rewatch it often and it’s one of my favorites.
13. Legend of Mana and the Seiken Densetsu Series - Again, I blame @heebiejeebiejade entirely for this. She sent me a huge box with every game in the Seiken Densetsu series in it along with the guidebooks saying “you HAVE to play these.” I knew she liked them so I gave them a try and YEP as per usual with anything Jade introduces me to, they COMPLETELY DESTROYED ME. Love, sacrifice, life, death, and rebirth, are a huge part of these title’s storytelling and they drew me in completely. Legend of Mana and Dawn of Mana especially. Their world building and plot devices may or may not have heavily influence my own XD
14. The ‘Stravaganza’ book series - The first time I picked up a Stravaganza book title was when I was twelve and found this really shiny book in a used bookstore for $3. It featured a picture of Venice, and a pair of violet eyes staring at you from behind a shiny silver mask on the cover. I’m not sure why It spoke to me, it just did. I bought it and finished it within a day. That book was titled City of Masks and I loved it a lot! And then I found out there were more! An entire series! The books featured time travel and dimensional travel, espionage and intrigue! I read and devoured them all and to this day I hold out hope for a final volume to finish the series.
15. Avatar: the Last Airbender - At age 12 I dismissed Avatar as a kid show originally. I scoffed at it and laughed at my little brother for being so into it. Then I saw the first episode. And it was then that I knew what a mistake I had made. I know a LOT of people love Avatar, and for good reason! I don’t have to go super in-depth here because I’m sure most of you already know how great it is. It’s definitely influenced both my art style and my storytelling.
16. Hikaru no Go - This one’s special. When I was in high school I was bullied a LOT. Like, people writing DIE YOU WHORE in my textbooks and putting thumb tacks in my gym shoes kind of bullying. They’d touch me and then pretended that they’d die of the plague. That if anyone had a crush on me they were worse than trash. The kind of bullying that made me a bit suicidal in my teen years. Lucky for me my mother had bought me a copy of Monthly Shonen Jump in early 2005, She knew that I liked manga and thought it would be the perfect magazine gift for me for valentine’s day. Boy was she right and one of the manga featured in it was Hikaru no Go. I loved the art style, and the storytelling. I was instantly captivated by the characters and I wanted to know what happened next. I soon subscribed to SJ monthly and eagerly awaited the next installment each month. What this meant was that whenever I was feeling like I wanted to end it all, I’d remember that I didn't’ know what happened next and would wait. I honestly believe that Hikaru no Go is at least partially responsible for me making it out of high school alive, and I treasure it to this day. (Also I’m on anti-depressants now so don’t worry about me y’all okay? XD) There was another manga like this, but I'mnot sure how to feel about that one anymore :(
17. Magic Knight Rayearth - I know I’ve already listed CLAMP as a heavy influence on me, but I felt Magic Knight Rayearth deserved it’s own place because it was my first manga ever! I’d seen the commercial for the anime on one of my old DVDs way back when, and I was already intereseted in it when I happened to find the manga in a bookstore! I bought it and reread the first volume a dozen times before I even found the second ahaha. I must have read the complete set a hundred times now and let me tell you the twist ending of the first part kills me every time! The first of my manga obsession ahaha
18. Tales of the Abyss and The ‘Tales of’ game series - Tales of the Abyss was my first (and still my favorite) Tales game, and since then I’ve played almost all of them! They definitely influenced my character designs, most of my friends comment on how Tales-like my costumes are ahaha
19. The 'Riyria’ book series - The most recent novel series I’ve read. It’s got everything I’d ever want to see in a novel, it’s so great and the story is so deep and intriguing! I recommend everyone to read it, it’s a MUST READ for sure!
20. Journey - The first time I played this game I cried for three hours. I felt like I’d just had a religious and spiritual experience far beyond what I’d ever experienced in a video game before. It was just something so… beyond me. I recommend everyone to play this game at least once in their lifetime. I can’t really form the words to express what it means to me. It’s just something you’d have to experience for yourself.
21. Ico: Castle in the Mist and Shadow of the Colossus - Another famous one lol a LOT of people love these games but In particular I want to bring attention to the Ico novelization, Ico: Castle in the Mist. I really enjoyed the novel and it’s worldbuilding. The games will always be special to me, but that novel man. That novel.
22. Yu Yu Hakusho - One of my guilty favorites! I first saw Yu Yu Hakusho when I was 16 and I’ve loved it ever since! I’ve always been fascinated with spirits and the occult, but I definitely had to hide this one from my religious parents.
23. Black Cat - Honestly this one surprises me. I love those secret identity and hidden horrible past animes and this one definitely fits that bill. I think this one established my favorite tropes in my life more than anything else.
24. A Bride’s Story - Two words. THE ART. MY GOD THE ART. This manga, in addtion to being a really great read, has some of the most detailed artwork I’ve ever seen. It’s influenced me greatly and I encourage everyone to read it.
25. Bravely Default - Bravely Default definitely influenced my story building and characters, it was one of the first 3DS games that really captivated me and drew me into its world!
26. Yu-Gi-Oh!! - Another series I had to hide from my parents ahah This anime was something I really loved in my childhood. Again, I really love ghosts and spirits and things like that so this anime was probably what started it all!
27. Fire Emblem Awakening and the Fire Emblem Series - Awakening was my first Fire Emblem game (Cue whining from the FE purists LOL) but since then I’ve played them all! (Including the JP only ones don’t start with me haters ahahahaha) The storytelling and bonds between the characters really resonated with me and it’s become one of my favorite game series!
28. The ‘Legend of Zelda’ game series - The repeating themes of good vs evil throughout the Legend of Zelda games really struck a chord with me, especially when I was young. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker especially influenced me. “A Sword has no strength unless the hand that wields it has courage.” Is something that has suck with me for a long time, and something that encourages me and helps me get through my everyday life.
29. The Final Fantasy Series - Final Fantasy has had a HUGE impact on my life. I already gave Crystal Chronicles it’s due, now it’s the numbered titles turn! Final Fantasy has influenced my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined ten years ago even! I’ve played them all (Except 11, curse having no internet as a teenager!) and they’ve definitely shaped my lore and world building skills!
30. Naruto - Okay I’ll admit it! I was Naruto weeboo trash in highschool!!! Oh woe is me!! Just kidding! I honestly still love Naruto, and it’s something that really stuck with me for a long time, since it’s one of the first anime I saw (after learning what anime was ahaha)
31. Gravity Falls - How can I put this… Hmmmm. Gravity Falls has heavily influenced my character building. I love it’s characters. Don’t get me wrong I love the story too! But the characters are honestly what kept me coming back for more! Not to mention that epic foreshadowing in season one. Yep.
32. Spiral: The Bonds of Reasoning - Another one of my favorite manga in Highschool that oddly helped me through my depression. The main character’s struggles sort of resonated with me and helped my healing process in my late teens and early twenties.
33. Final Fantasy XII - Okay WORLDBUILDING. Let’s talk about worldbuilding because MY GOD has Final Fantasy XII have it. I love the Ivalice games in general, but the amount of effort put into 12 having a world that feels like it’s alive is astounding to be honest. The world truly feels like it’s alive, and it drew me in for over 400 hours of gameplay on Playstation 2. To this day it’s the game I have logged the most hours into.
34. Radiant Historia - What drew me in here was TIME TRAVEL and STORY AND WORLDBUILDING. This game is a hidden gem in the Nintendo DS’s extensive library. It doesn’t have the best graphics or even the best gameplay mechanics, but it didn’t matter to me because the story kept me coming back for more! By far one of my favorite games ever. (Pssst go play it, it got a remake for 3DS)
35. Final Fanasy XIV - This one is a favorite, not just because of it’s story and world building - both of which are excellent btw - but because of the connections I’ve made through it. I have made so many friends online through this game, friends that make me feel better about myself as a person, and who’ve stuck with me through the hard times along with the good.
36. Mushishi - We’ve established that I love ghosts and spirits and things, but this series made me love connecting it with nature, something that has heavily influenced my writing and my own webcomic!
37. Voltron - Mostly the first two seasons. Beast King Golion was one of my first super sentai anime as a child, and I loved seeing it remade! It was like getting to revisit my childhood
38. Gundam SEED and the Gundam Series - Okay Gundam has influenced me throughout my life, starting with Gundam Wing when I was six years old, and continuing on to this day. The one I’ve watched the most times though, is Gundam SEED, and it’s influenced my characters and storytelling a lot!
Wow, congrats to whoever manged to read this far. You’re really determined I’ll give you that! Thanks for reading!

“LOST TRAVELER 7 (STORY) - NOT SO FAST!”
This story continues... I put some effor in finishing it faster because someone requested it :V Anyway, excuse my bad English and the rushed quality of the art, but I really wanted to post this today, so here we go XD lost traveler 1: arcadian123.deviantart.com/art… lost traveler 2: arcadian123.deviantart.com/art… lost traveler 3: arcadian123.deviantart.com/art… lost traveler 4: arcadian123.deviantart.com/art… lost traveler 5: www.deviantart.com/arcadian123… lost traveler 6: www.deviantart.com/arcadian123… I hope you like it! ^^ The story starts here: ----------------------------------------------------------
The desertic expanse was way hotter than little Flare had ever imagined possible, she’d never been in a dessert after all. “To think that the sea wasn’t that far away”, thought her. Under a magical cloud she summoned, she was waiting for the mystery cat, already feeling how the savage daemons were beginning to come closer to her, their disgusting auras of confusion and hunger already starting to disorient her and upset her stomach; if the spires of City 45 weren’t big enough to be almost impossible to miss, she’d be in a lot more danger of getting lost forever in the Savage Lands… in the Cosmic Miasma.
And then, she felt a familiar aura. A good mage never forgets and aura and the Felixin’s was not one she’ll ever forget, no matter what. It made her think in silence, a calmed silence capable of overriding the sounds of the wind around her. That’s when she felt the hum of an incoming vehicle:
It was one of those levitating cars, like the one that goat researched owned. This one was black and had also four seats. In the driver’s seat was the very same grey furred Felixin she met during the train fiasco: Amcel, and, unsurprisingly enough, he was wearing the black robes of the Adeptus from the Church of the Sacred Darkness. The symbol of their faith, her faith as well, the moon around an eye, was very visible in his chest.
-Good day, lady Flare!- greeted the felixin with an easy smile- I hope I didn’t make you wait too long- then he yawned a little. He must have interrupted his sleep to come for her, after all, most mages and members of the church tended to be nocturnal.
-Greetings, Amcel- replied her with a little bow of her head- let’s go already, savage daemons are going to come soon- The felixin nodded.
-I feel them too… you came with magic, eh? - he asks rhetorically as she sits on the seat at his side and uses her magic to adjust her seatbelt, which covers most of her small body- well, let’s get going, I’m not interested in fighting this early in the morning-
-I’m just hoping you take me to the Holy Darkness Temple as you said… and that you’ll help me in solving this mess- murmured her, her talking gem purposefully sending the message in a low volume.
-We’ll be going there, and I’ll definitely help you in solving these mysteries, now let’s go, my master awaits- That said, the cat started the vehicle and they were on their way to the city.
--------------------------------------------------
Not that far from the place Flare and Amcel met, Nyepu and Giorgio were traversing the sand dunes on the latter’s car, followed by a wheeled truck full of battle mages and an anti-magic soldier.
-I must give it to her… that little red bird certainly is fast- comments Giorgio, driving.
Nyepu only nodded as a response from the backseat, he had taken his aquatic form to be able to coil there, since his legs would have been too big to fit in the car, he’d really prefer to fly by himself to the city, but he still needed to recharge some energy before he could reactivate his biological anti-gravity generators.
-Incomming Savage Daemons, please reduce speed and allow us to take the lead- said suddenly a male voice in their heads.
-Great…- muttered Giorgio annoyed- she must have done more magic to keep us busy fighting those horrors- said the goat researcher bitterly, doing as instructed by the voice of one of their combat mages, swerving to one side and reducing speed to allow the truck to pass them.
-I doubt she’d be that thoughtful… she used magic to come here as fast as possible, that was all- commented Nyepu, very sure of Flare’s lack of planification skills.
They watched as many small hatches opened at the sides and top of the reinforced vehicle. the magicians where already readying their spells to throw them at the first sign of a savage daemon getting too close, while from the upper hatch, three white drones emerged, each levitating by a pair of anti-gravity generators strapped to a structure around the spherical bodies of the drones. Two of them flew a little further from the vehicle, to it’s sides, while one flew over Nyepu and Giorgio’s car.
-Thankfully those trucks come with nullifier drones- comments the goat-looking homunculus.
Nyepu couldn’t help but feel a little relieved by the presence of the little robots equipped with PNGs, Psychic Noise Generators, another anti-magic technology.
-Contact! three enemies incoming, two from the left, and one from the right!- said the male voice from before.
The two researchers couldn’t help but watch around in search of the existencial horrors. And just like that, they noticed all the sand the daemons were lifting with their movement between the dunes far from them, their nasty auras not affecting them yet because of distance and the disruptive presence of the drones’ anti-magic field.
-Maybe we didn’t think this through…- comments Giorgio, dissimulating his nervousness with a giggle.
Nyepu didn’t reply right away, instead checking what could be seen of the spires of City 45 over the horizon already. With a quick math he estimated their distance to the city and, assuming that the savage daemons didn’t get faster in their approaching to them, then by accelerating by 4 Km/h2 they’d be able to be in range of the City’s defenses before the monsters could even attack them… they’ll be safe… he was about to order acelerating when the male voice talked again:
-A fourth Daemon signal… Is coming from underground! Now!- almost shouted in urgency.
Half a second later, the sand exploded under the reinforced car, sending it flying to the blue skies. The magicians response was fast, though, and they managed to make their vehicle fly further, enveloped by shadows and light; meanwhile. Giorgio stomped on the brake, making Nyepu hit his muzzle against the windshield, and  started to go reverse while the dragon rubbed his sore nose.
-Fuck fuck fuck fuck…- was rapidly muttering the goat guy while trying to get away from the gigantic thing made of sand, stone and flesh that had just erupted from beneath the dunes they were oh-so-happily traversing. The thing probably looked like a horrible worm covered in tentacles and eyes but Nyepu was too busy trying to ignore it and trying to calm his friend down to tell for sure.
As one of the drones came flying to them (the other apparently was buried in sand) they heard the telepathic order of going in full throttle to City 45, since the other daemons were coming faster to them as well. Nyepu had to slap Giorgio with one of his back tentacles to make him recover his senses… then, he had to restrain him with the tendrils from his pincer since the guy was dead-set in going back to the research facility instead of continuing with “this madness”, as the goat put it. Nyepu had a hard time using his back tentacles and his one very big hand to try and drive the car from the back seat, while restraining his friend (who was being very verbally rude and moving a lot) and being followed, and deafened, by a screaming and maddening sand worm and other horrors. He drove as fast as possible, evading the dunes while watching the city spires growing bigger and barely noticing how the NERV Projector soldier, a ram type homunculus, was shooting the weapon’s weird energy beam at the monsters from the flying truck above them. “I need to incorporate a NERV Bio-Proyector to my pincer” he thought idly.
-You better be in City 45 when I get there, Flare… and pray to the Dark God that I don’t lose a single employee in this mess… or, for Leviathan, Argenta and the God that Left, that I’m going to indebt your tail forever!- murmured, with a very low and menacing tone, the very, very pissed off dragon while evading a tentacle from the daemonic sand worm, thanks to an opportune warning of a mage. His mind was a mess of anxiety for his barely sufficient driving, and curses and insults towards himself, Flare and reality, just like Giorgio’s.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long before he heard a simple “Incomming!” from the battle mages before the whistling of artillery shells began to fulfill the air, replacing the maddening screams of the worms and the curses of his colleague.
They got to the city under the roaring of explosions and horrible madness-inducing screeching.
--------------------------------------------------
-Well, as I said, here we are! The temple of the Holy Darkness Church!- said Amcel dramatically from the driver’s seat, motioning his hands to the temple.
She’d been at the temples of her Church before, there was at least one in all the cities, after all. Like the other glorious sanctuaries of the magical people, the temple was a huge structure which started as a stepped pyramid, like a Ziggurat, and had a huge tower built on the top. It was made of a magical dark stone so black that it didn’t reflected the light, and in which you could see the magnificence of the cosmos: nebulas, stars, galaxies and comets perpetually moving on the dark surface. If it weren’t for the edges plated in gold, the whole thing would look like a dark gate, or window, to the eternity.
Once they were out of the car, Amcel just vanished the vehicle, storing it into his magical inventory, apparently, before they started to advance towards the temple, passing by some mages meditating in the gardens or by the ponds around the building.
Flare couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic, she had spent a lot of time training in the Temple of the Holy Darkness of her home city under the guidance of her master. She also felt safe, surrounded by the familiar auras of the magical defenses of the Temple.
As they entered into the main Hall, a huge space with statues made of white stone depicting faceless mages of each magic-capable race in Onirica, Flare couldn’t help herself:
-Well, now that we are here… mind telling me how are you going to help me? Or what’s all this about premonitions?- her face went a little darker then- Or was this all just to insist on training me in blood magic- The Felixin flinched a little at that.
-Well, I definitely am intent on insisting in that- started him having the decency of sounding ashamed, but that was enough for Flare. When her face was beginning to twist in disgust he lifted his hands placatingly, talking faster- but I definitely will help you in your enterprise! I’m offering you the full support of our church, we’ll just need to make some calls and The Sky Kingdom’s branch of our Church will be on your side… of course, we first need to be sure you are the one in the premotions-
-Didn’t you say already that it was me?- asked her confused.
-Weeellll- he rubbed the back of his head, his ears falling back- I may have… exaggerated a little…- she blinked in confusion, he sighed- Premonitions and prophecies are not very easy to interpret, but all things considered, you were the most likely candidate… and now that you are here, we just need to meet my master, he’ll be able to tell us for sure- She didn’t know premonitions were that annoying, why would they have to be? Suddenly, something really got her worried.
-And what would happen if I’m not the right person?- asked her cautiously.
-Not much- Amcel shrugged- your case will lose priority but will still be investigated, my master will chew me out for making such a mistake and I’ll be send to search for the right person…-
-Ah…- said her, flying alongside him, not really sure of how to feel about that at all. If she weren’t the person of the premonitions, that could be good and bad: on one wing, she’d be free of those scary omens from before, but on the other, she’d lose the support Amcel had promised… wait a second...
-Your word as mage bounds you to help me immediately- said her- no matter if I’m not the one the premonition talks about- said her as they got to one of six elevators at the end of the hall. He smiled at that.
-Never mentioned anything about immediate help- he gave her a knowing smile as she stood on his shoulder while the elevator took off- nice try, though; but I’m an Adeptus, I can remember every single one of my words without much difficulty, a skill I can teach you- she gave him an annoyed glare.
-I pass- replied her, crossing her wings; he shrugs
-Your loss, Lady Flare-
One of the wonders of the Temple was that the walls, while impervious to light from the outside, could be translucent from the inside, giving to the mages the ability to watch beyond the walls at will… or at least, as long as their will was strong enough. Amcel made it possible for them to view outside and they were greeted with a beautiful view of the City’s spires and buildings, the sea and the train’s electromagnetic railway, as well as some of the flying vehicles and coastal defenders.
-But you are right in that I gave you my word- said suddenly the cat; she looked at him and he was now looking at the distance with a serious expression- Helping you is my priority now and will be, no matter what- she remained looking at him for a while until the elevator stopped. - well…- said him as an entrances formed in the wall behind them. - we are here! - announced him, leading the way into the new space… or more precisely, carrying her on his shoulder…
The room was a little cold and was made of the same dark stone… there were no golden edges this time, so the only way to safely traverse the room would be to have your magical sense at full alert, to the point of percieving the usually overlook “soul” of everything that exists. Flare did just that and her aura slammed against a powerful presence inside the place. The moment her aura touched that other, she felt tranquility but also couldn’t help but think in an intense silver light, awe inspiring yet distant and benevolent.
-I’ve brought Lady Flare as I said I would, Master…- announced Amcel to the owner of the Aura, a being she was still unable to see, only feel. Then, in the infinite darkness, a pale silver light allowed a silhouette to be distinguished, a figure who apparently was sitting in the ground, with legs crossed and hands spread as in a welcoming gesture. A voice chuckled in the gloom, it was deep and grave.
-You’ve done well, my grandson- “Grandson?!” thought the little princess in surprise, “then this old mage must be…”- suddenly a pair of silver orbs appeared in the darkness and the light became a little more intense, showing more of the figure in the room: a skeleton, a felixin one, the light orbs were in its eye sockets and the whole being was enveloped in the silver light which was actually an aura that took the vaguely shape of a creature with big ears, like that of a felixin, there was an halo suspended over the skeleton’s head and from its head came multiple strands of light that gave the idea of long hairs. The being was wearing some kind of black armor. “A lich… this guy is a Felixin Medium!” thought Flare in awe, remembering the rare felixin mutant capable of interacting with the souls of the dead, bring them from beyond and controlling death itself… a mere Necromancer would have a hard time doing anything this blessed agents of nature could do -Welcome to our humble abode, Lady Flare- said the lich- I’m Celio, Adeptus Primus of the local Temple of the Holy Darkness- the magician stood up and the little Estirge couldn’t help but lower her head in a respectful way, even if the Adeptu Primus wasn’t that much taller than, let’s say, Amcel.- I’m glad you could come-
-I’m humbled to be in your presence- said her without looking up, Celio chuckled.
-I guess, you don’t meet us Mediums everyday- with that, he laughed a little- but enough, you came because we offered our helped and so shall be done…- he then remained silent for a moment- after we’ve dealt with our visitors, that is-
-Visitors?- asked Flare and Amcel at the same time; it didn’t take long for Flare to come up with an idea of who may these visitors be but that didn’t make any sense! why would he be here?! Why would her dragon friend come all the way from his place in the middle of the desert? To follow her? She made it clear that she needed to go as quickly as possible to her nation, that she wouldn’t wait for Argenta… was he here to force his ideas, then? or maybe… “maybe he dropped that and wants to help me?” she blushed a little at that small hope.
-Indeed, I can feel 6 mages and some lesser auras in the entrance… they are all a little tense…- She allowed herself to hope that the dragon researcher came with reinforcements to help her, but a voice in her mind was telling her that said “reinforcements” were there to assist him in forcing her back to the research facility…
-Let’s go- said her to the magical felines, who shared a look before boarding the elevator and descend to the Hall with her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Nyepu!- cried her in surprise.
-Greetings, Flare…- greeted him, coldly.
-You came for...- she began.
-I came to bring you back- he interrupted.
-That’s nice, but unnecessary- added Amcel with simplicity, smiling.
-No one asked you, kitty- intervened Giorgio with an annoyed expression, arms crossed before himself.
-Rudeness is also unnecessary… and won’t be tolerated in this temple- sing-songs Celio, arms crossed behind him.
Silence, of the tense kind, reigned in the Hall of the Temple of the Holy Darkness after that. A few minutes later, though, Nyepu sighed and said:
-In behalf of my team…-
-Your team?- interrupted Giorgio, rising a brow.
-Our team- rectified the white dragon, rolling his eyes, before continuing- I’m sorry for our sudden visit, but we really need to take Lady Flare back to our research Facility-
-Well, I’m not going back there, Nyepu- stated the little avian, giving the dragon researcher a very haughty look, wings crossed, from the head of Amcel where she was standing. Nyepu gave her a slightly more annoyed glare.
-You heard the lady, gentlemen- adds the Adeptus with a cocky smile, Giorgio rolled his eyes.
-Why would you take here there, anyway? She’d be safer here, not to mention that we will help her with the resources of our Church- said the felixin lich, in a very clear attempt at keeping things civil. Nyepu was about to talk but Giorgio beat him to it.
-As you may know, lady Flare’s situation is the kind of anomaly that Argenta expects to be informed about, but, to make sure this is really something worth mentioning her, we need to make some tests on the princess. Data to accurately label this is an anomaly is required, and to gather that data, we’ll need to use equipment that is currently in our labs, back in our research facility-
-Aren’t you the guys trying to bring back some ancient biological technology?- asks suddenly Amcel- what are you going go to do? Test how old is her?- the Adeptus got a slightly creepy glare from his grandfather for his words- I mean it, what kind of test would you run there?-
-Of the genetics variety- answered Nyepu simply- detailing them to someone who knows little of the field would be a waste of time- he shrugged while offering a light smile to the felixin, whose face remained civil as ever, and, before anyone could interrupt him, he added- rest assure that the point is to get enough information to corroborate that the Flare on your head is not a clone created by any possible clonation technique-
-And how will that help us? I’m sure I’m not a clone!- said Flare feeling insulted.
-In sciences, subjective statements are not enough, we need hard proves and we, as the senior geneticists that we are, are very well qualified to get said information- replied Giorgio in a matter-of-fact tone- also, if we prove the you are not a clone created by the known technology, Argenta will lend us her resources to solve this mystery-
-Add her help to the help your new friends are offering, and you’ll have this problem solve in less than a week, with risks of failure reduced to the minimun- intervened Nyepu- wouldn’t you agree then that this is the best possible course of action, magicians?-
-I don’t…!- started to say Flare.
-I think…- started to say Amcel.
-I agree- stated Celio and the others looked at him, Flare with shock and Amcel with mild curiosity, obviously hiding his own shock.- The shadow I perceived in my premonition was too big and too terrible- informs him to the other two arcanists and the combat mages of the researchers’ squad showed their surprise at that- We need to be careful, to make sure whatever move we make is going to bring us closer to victory, and to not waste any resource, that’s the way of us mages… and also of you, people of science…- he remained silent for a moment, a moment in which Flare was beginning to feel betrayed again, Amcel angry and Nyepu and Giorgio, triumphant- but because of that very same Shadow, the threat that is right now making its way towards here, I can’t risk Flare’s safety. Bring your equipment to our Sanctuary, I can send some of our other Adeptus to help you if necessary, but the princess stays here where we can protect her-
Flare couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Now the Adeptus Primus was going to make her wait, just like Nyepu was about to do. Apparently, no one really fully understood the urgency of saving her kingdom AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. Apparently she’d have to fly by herself. “Just like mother always says” thought her bitterly.
-I’ll stay here to check that Flare doesn’t escapes or something- she hears Nyepu saying - I need you to bring the equipment, Giorgio- when she looked at the researchers, the goat was giving his colleague a very annoyed look-
-Like hell I will… the Admin won’t like this one bit… also, I’m not going to that damn desert again, not this soon!… go retrieve the devices yourself! all of this is your fault, anyway- the dragon growled at that.
-I give you my word that she won’t escape- said Celio, suddenly and Flare couldn’t it take anymore.
-You can’t hold me here… if you want to do things at a snail’s pace that’s your thing, but I need to be on the move now!- said her flying again, feeling angry and betrayed and just fed up with people in general- Now, if you’ll excuse me…- but Celio sighed heavily and, somehow, the temperature in the room felt like it had dropped a few degrees.
-Lady Flare, you are follower of our honorable Church, a student of us servants of the Dark God- said the Lich carefully - you’d do well in following our wisdom, especially in a situation this dire-
Typical felixin, or so would her master have said: he didn’t outright threaten her, but his words were warning enough that he could go to really drastic lengths to get what he wanted, and he was a member of the church she was devoted to, he had a lot a resources aside from his own magical skills. “But, does that really matter?” thought her “Is the safety of her people less important than her relationship with her Church?” She was tempted to just lie but, that would be unbecoming of a heroine, even if it would be acceptable for a princess.
She had remained silent for a few moments, her eyes closed, flying with her wings. “If I tell them my intentions, then they all will try to stop me, but if I lie, then… I… I won’t feel right doing that, not to people that wants to help me… even if their help is becoming more of an annoyance… also, a mage’s word is almost sacred...” She sighs in defeat.
-Very well- started her in a low tone- I’ll stay here…-
-I’m glad that you’ve seen the wisdom in staying with us- says master Celio endearingly.
-But… - she continue- if for waiting to you all my kingdom suffers more… I’ll make you all pay for it- finished her in a dark tone, her little eyes burning with fury- Now, please… mind telling me where are the meditation chambers? I want to be alone…-
She’d never thought she’d ever say that.

ok alright here we go here’s my super duper long ramble/fangirling post about S2 Voltron (SPOILERS APLENTY HERE) (MOBILE USERS BEWARE)
I’m gonna start off by saying that I would like to personally thank each and every single person who works on this show because OMG it is so. freaking. GOOD. especially the animation like???? let me hug everyone at Studio Mir please they are the BEST. and the music continues to be #On Point and exactly my type of music, please Dreamworks release a season two soundtrack PLEASE. also the pacing seemed better this time around?? season one felt SO rushed, like I blinked and it was over, but this season felt really well paced and not rushed at all, hallelujah \o/
ok now on to more specific things
I’m gonna sort my thoughts via each character cause that’s gonna be the easiest thing to do I think, also writing out my feelings for each episode would take much longer tbh
Shiro: UMMM. MY POOR BABY???? the season starts out with him already wounded and then proceeds to have him get attacked and thrown around by a bunch of alien beasts like???? can you not?????? making Shiro suffer is a running theme in this show and I DON’T WIKE IT. he suffered less from PTSD this time around tho, which I appreciated. he just suffered more physically instead hahahaha LET HIM REST FOR GOSH SAKES!!!!!! although I think I felt most bad for him during that rescue mission with Salv like OMFG poor Shiro LOL. him bonding with the black lion was.... OMG. I was so proud and happy for him. take that Zarkon you fudge nugget. also ALSO HIM BONDING WITH KEITH????? I WAS SCREAMING??????????? THE HUG??!?!?!?!???!??! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *ahem* anyway, I’m not even gonna get into the finale cause frick dat he’s fine he just is hiding under the control panel and is gonna pop up and surprise everyone later it’ll be great you’ll see :) he’s fine guys :) he is F I N E :) :) :) :) 8)
Pidge: A RELATABLE NERD WHO MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS. I already felt a connection to Pidge last season, but this one was literally like OMG... it me... if I were smarter anyway... :P. she was precious as always, not taking any crap from those dumb boys. I LOVED her episode on the techie planet, it was so good. her having to rescue everyone in the end was just... *insert Pacha pic here*. also umm Harm and I kept making predictions throughout the entire season and saying “YOU GUYS SHOULD DO THIS” and then Pidge would always be the one to say the EXACT thing that Harm and I had been saying all along (like the Black Lion being the thing that Zarkon was tracking) and it was like YES!!!! GIRL!!!!!! GET SHIZZ DONE!!!!!!!!! seriously Pidge is like the support character of this team, without her, they would literally be dead right now. I freaking love her. she is the BEST \o/
Hunk: GIVE THIS BOY A FRIGGIN MEDAL. SERIOUSLY. and that medal would be for being the absolute biggest sweetheart EVER. OMG. I’m so glad they chose to put him and Keith together for the Weblum episode cause Keith needed someone like Hunk after what he had just gone through OMG. Hunk wasn’t demeaning to Keith at all, he was actually genuinely curious about what had happened to him??? I’m crying????? also I know everyone is complaining about him being reduced to comedic relief and only talking about food and all that but like... he stated in the Eye of the Storm episode that cooking was how he destressed?? it’s his hobby?? he likes cooking and eating food?? I get it, ya’ll want a chubby character who’s not just there to eat food all the time. well, from what I recall, Hunk used his smarts pretty darn often in the season, especially in the Weblum episode. also he’s still a big lovable goofball that everyone on the team loves and what’s better than that tbh?? NOBODY on the team makes fun of Hunk for liking to eat and cook, and honestly, that’s incredible. I absolutely LOVED the parts in the space mall episode where he was cooking in the food court and everybody was loving his food. he was doing what he loves to do, and he was being GOOD at it. as an overweight person who also likes to eat often, I support Hunk and his food eating/making endeavors ^3^
Lance: I... honestly wish I could say more about him. unlike with Hunk, I do agree with the fandom that Lance pretty much got shoved to the side this season. besides the mermaid and rescuing Salv episodes, he didn’t do much at all. he was hilarious as always, but I’m starting to see season three Sokka syndrome here, and I’m not sure how to feel. I don’t have a problem with him being a comedic character, but it feels like they’re taking away from the really important stuff with his character. he didn’t even mention his Earth family this time around. is that not an issue for him anymore? with Pidge and now Keith both looking for their families, I feel like this might impact Lance more in the coming seasons. I really hope they delve more into his character in S3 cause we didn’t get much of him in the first season either. poor Lance :\
Keith: DO I EVEN HAVE TO SAY IT. DO I. COME ON. YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I’M GONNA SAY. I specifically saved Keith for last cause hoooooo BOY do I have a lot to say!!!!! firstly *SCREAMS FOR 84 YEARS*. secondly *SOBS FOR 84 MORE YEARS*. and lastly *DIES*. that is all. ........LOL jk. thank you thank you THANK YOU to the writers for giving him more of a focus this season. we complained that Keith was barely there in the first season and now this second season more than made up for it. this was Keith’s season, man. even more so than Shiro. I was one of the people who REALLY wanted Keith to be part Galra aND LO. THE WRITERS DELIVERED. *MORE SCREAMING*. I’m a bit disappointed that Thace wasn’t his father, but I’ll talk more about the Galra in a bit. also the fact that his mother is the one who’s a Galra? I didn’t even know there were female Galra since Haggar was the only female on the ship (and I was suspicious of her actually being a Galra anyway). but whatever, I’m not picky, IM JUST HAPPY IT’S A THING. The Blade of Marmora is my new Carnage of Krell and I’m gonna torture myself by watching it 20 more times hahahaha. I already mentioned the Shiro hug but also HE THINKS OF SHIRO LIKE A BROTHER??!?!!?!?!? UMMMMMMMMM??!??!!?!?!?!??!?!!?! I died to say the least. I’m still dying. I’m still dying A LOT. and and AND KEITH BEING PROTECTIVE OF SHIRO IN THE FIRST EPISODE?????? I CRIED????????? he was so supportive and helpful in this season, he really bonded more with the others, especially the Weblum episode OMG, I love his relationship with Hunk so much ;3;. and the stuff between him and Allura????? like I don’t ship it, but I was still screaming like... Keith is such a friggin sweetheart, he genuinely cares about everyone even though he doesn’t always show it, and he’s so loyal and protective and strong and I AM SO FREAKING IN LOVE WITH HIM HE IS PERFECT?????????????????????????? the fact that he was able to control the black lion in the first episode?????? he really is a good leader after all?????? this entire season was building Keith up so that he could take over for Shiro once he was gone and I’m??!!?!?!!?!!?! *SOBS FOR 84 YEARS AGAIN*. I’m honestly frightened for what the next season is gonna hold because nooooooo do not give Keith anymore grief and sorrow and worry, do NOT let him blame himself for losing Shiro, DO NOT MAKE HIM ANGSTY AGAIN, JUST LET HIM BE HAPPY AND FIND HIS FAMILY AND BE A GOOD SUBSTITUTE LEADER FOR SHIRO OK????????? that’s all I ask.... ;3;
ok that’s the main five, now on to the other characters...
Allura and Coran: I’m lumping them together because I can. Coran didn’t really change much this season, and I’m ok with that. I like him just the way that he is. the episode where he had the Slipperies was HYSTERICAL. I love him XD. Allura continues to just be... ok to me? I definitely don’t dislike her, but there are so many things about her that bothered me this season, it was hard for me to change my feelings about her at all. I got SO pissed at her about her issues with the Galra, it was ridiculous. especially when she was being a jerk to Keith, that was just infuriating. if this was the writers attempt at trying to showcase racism, then congrats to them cause they did a wonderful job at making me almost hate Allura LOL. I compare Allura to Katara a LOT, but unlike Katara, I feel like Allura might have more likable qualities to her. in terms of her racist feelings towards the Galra and Keith, she resolved them a heckuva lot quicker than Katara did with the Fire Nation, which I appreciated greatly. the way she handled her apology to Keith was even more satisfying than Katara’s apology to Zuko tbh. idk guys, I really want to like Allura more, and at times I like her more than others (like during the last couple episodes holy frick YOU GO GIRL \o/), but overall, I’m still just... ok with her. nothing more, nothing less. if I were to rank all of the main hero characters in order, she would probably be last. but I in no ways hate her, that’s for sure.
The Galra: again, lumping all together cause there are WAAAY too many characters that fit into this category for me to separate. like Keith, these guys were given a big focus this season, and I am SO GLAD. I really wanted to learn more about them in the first season, and I was super syked to learn that they weren’t all bad guys. the Blade of Marmora (the actual organization, not the episode of the same name) was SO. FRIGGIN. COOL. like yeah, they started off as a bunch of jerks, but thanks to the glorious efforts of my husband, they chilled out and joined with the team and kicked MAJOR butt in the finale, I was so friggin pleased. also Ulaz and Thace?? I’m hurt man. I’m hurt REAL bad. someone please tell me I’m not the only one who got Clone Trooper vibes from those two cause I AM HURT. if the Blade ends up being a bunch of sacrificial lambs for the rest of the season, IM WRITING A STRONGLY WORDED LETTER TO DREAMWORKS TO TELL THEM TO BACK THE FRICK OFF OF MY BOYS!!!!!!! also, like the Clones, I am conflicted on whether or not I want to adopt them all or marry them all but we won’t get into that *COUGH*. I hope more Galra join the Blade in the next season. and that we get to find out WHO TF THAT PERSON WAS THAT KEITH RESCUED INSIDE THE WEBLUM CAUSE I JUST KNOW THAT PERSON IS IMPORTANT SOMEHOW!!!! (calling it now, they’re related to Keith in some manner, also I think they were female). besides the Blade, I also enjoyed seeing other odd Galra that are actually part of Zarkon’s army, like Marvok and the cop from the space mall. more characters like them please \o/
aaaaand some final things to note
Zarkon literally turned into Megatron, he’s even in a coma like Megs was in the first season of TFP hahahaha
I had a theory that Haggar was a species other than Galra but I did NOT expect her to be Altean tbh
IF THEY NEVER SHOW OR MENTION THE COW AGAIN IM GOING TO BE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WRITERS
forgot to mention it in Allura or Shiro’s sections but!!!! that hand hold!!! ALL ABOARD THE SHALLURA TRAIN 8D
immediately after finishing the season, I looked up Prince Lotor and I DO NOT WANT THEM TO CHANGE HIS CHARACTER AT ALL HE IS PERFECT THE WAY HE IS P L E A S E WRITERS OMG
please... let Pidge find her brother and dad soon... please writers...
I want more Altean history and I WANT TO KNOW WHO THE OTHER PREVIOUS PALADINS WERE
Harm and I couldn’t remember the name of the Taujeerians, so we just called them the Pooh aliens cause the leader was voiced by Jim Cummings (and they were really cute and chubby LOL)
that’s it :P

Users may also be able to select report types for saving onto the memory card inside the digital camera, and for shifting and saving onto the pc both in Uncooked or JPEG format. X Acquire is likewise well suited with tether shooting capabilities of Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujifilm X-T2.
The X Acquire software program will be to be had from 28 February 2017 as a unfastened download from the Fujifilm website.
Test our palms-on preview with the GFX 50S for greater records at the medium layout mirrorless camera and we additionally have sample pix captured with the GFX 50S so one can Check.
A way to Remedy reminiscence Card Corruption in Fujifilm FinePix S5700 Fujifilm FinePix S5700 makes use of its internal memory in addition to a reminiscence card for storing virtual documents. For the reason that inner reminiscence can simplest store up to 27 MB of data, it becomes essential for a photographer to use a reminiscence card (xD and SD) to shop his/her big series of pics, audios, and videos. These playing cards, although agree with worthy, can get corrupt if now not treated properly.
One easy manner to discover memory card corruption is when the photographer perspectives an errors message at the time s/he attempts to view the images. The photographer perspectives the error message each time s/he accesses the card. An smooth manner to get admission to information from card after its corruption is by restoring the statistics from an up to date backup. But, if no backup is to be had, then the photographer needs to look for a few excellent Photo Recuperation solution.
Recollect a actual-world example. You attempt to access the statistics saved in xD card of your Fujifilm FinePix S5700 digicam and come across the below errors message:
“CARD errors”
the mistake appears whenever you try to get admission to the information saved inside the xD card. Needless to say, the information stored within the reminiscence card becomes inaccessible after the above mistakes message pops up.
Motive:
Fallacious shutdown of the camera, interrupted examine/write operation, or malicious software program/malware may also result in memory card corruption.
Decision:
layout the xD reminiscence card in Fujifilm FinePix S5700 digital camera. the card will become reusable after formatting and also you save new virtual documents in it. However, formatting comes with a disadvantage of deleting all of the previously stored virtual documents from the xD card.
To recover deleted files after formatting, you may need to:
Restore them from an up to date backup.

However, I additionally see that if the player made the shot that they could no longer get the shot past the defense. They might handiest surrender control and provide the defense a threat to skate down the ice and score a aim. The purpose that the offense can not shoot the percent is they do no longer have a first rate shooting lane.
A capturing lane is any instantly course that the percent can take closer to the net. It is pretty easy to understand that if the percent cannot cross in the direction of the internet, then it isn’t always well worth capturing.
What defenders will do is try to positioned something that they are able to in the manner of the shot. A stick, a leg, or maybe there whole body may be used to dam a taking pictures lane. What the offense has to do is pick out where the modern-day taking pictures lanes are and where they’ll be in some seconds. when the offense is able to predict this correctly they will be unstoppable.
One of the approaches to look a taking pictures lane is to study the net. If you could see the net with out all people in front of it, It’s miles a taking pictures lane. But, it does no longer rely what your eyes see, it handiest topics what is in the manner of the p.C.. If you can pick out a corner with a slap shot, then you have to do it when you have the opportunity. But, you want to be clever because if the other group receives within the manner of the shot, the possibility you need to score is long gone and the alternative crew no longer has manipulate of the percent.
Simply make sure which you are The use of your head and no longer attempting to take pictures that specialists would no longer be able to.
