sorry just been seeing a weird backlash against academics from leftists too like was the right-wing backlash not enough lol. i'm not sure when professors became a ideologically homogeneous group intent on upholding """cultural hegemony""" for either political side. like sorry but nobody reads academic monographs except for other college students/faculty omg ......... and whatever influence they actually have in the classroom is probably overstated

hey! this is chance & here’s week 2's prompt. when you write or create an oc, do you like to reference elements from your life? if yes, name a few. if no, why not?
Pull from my life ? Sort of. Specifically, myself. I often make my villains by extrapolating my worst behaviours. Felix Abner, the villain of my main WIP, started as a self insert.
I have BPD, quiet type, but I always think about what a worse version of myself would be like, a version of myself who didn't have the crippling anxiety that holds me back from making a scene or hurting people. Felix started as that different version of me, although he has certainly changed over time and has many aspects of his character that no longer resemble me. However, his behaviours centred around obsession and love still pull from my own disordered thinking.
Cassedy Lowell, the main character of that same story, has NPD. Although I don't have NPD, I do use some of my own self-aggrandizement as inspiration for writing him and his thought processes. I often dream of being famous or widely recognized, so I gave him similar desires then built from there (with advice from acquaintances with NPD).
I find it therapeutic to put my mental issues into my characters, especially the issues that cause me to imagine violence or have upsetting intrusive thoughts. Writing characters who go through with those thoughts lets me handle those ideas in a safe place where no one actually gets hurt.
Also, my life isn't really that interesting, so I don't have any cool events to pull from. If I had a more exciting life I'd probably use it as inspo, but I'm a pretty boring person from the outside. All the interesting things happen in my noggin.

How would Spencer, Emily and Elle react to getting proposed to?
(I love this so much omg.)
(The reader here is entirely gender neutral.)
Requests are currently - OPEN
Tumblr media
I feel like Elle would lowkey hate it? I think even if she was in a long-term relationship, she wouldn't be into traditional romance. She wouldn't be the PDA type of person, she would be the type of person to flirt with teasing insults and she wouldn't like things to get 'too sappy'.
I think Elle wouldn't even be too fond of the idea of marriage - she would be okay with just existing in a long term relationship (and would not want to open the door of 'I am terrified of someone leaving me so I don't want to get married because I don't want to get divorced'.) If she was with someone who did help her get over that, and she did want to get married, then she would want the marriage proposal to be simple, non-romantic, and predictable. (And most likely, Elle would want to be the one proposing, rather than the one getting proposed to.)
She would hate one of those very traditional, very romantic, public or semi-public proposals - especially if it was one that she didn't see coming. She would love the kind of proposal where you gave her a ring randomly while handing her the Sunday paper and when she asked what the ring was, you say "I think we should get married."
If that was the case, then she would smile and put the ring on, and tell you that it's a bother because she has to 'go to HR and get some BS paperwork about changing her marriage status' - but she says it with a fond smile, and you know that it's her way of saying she's looking forward to spending her life with you.
Tumblr media
Emily would be shocked. Even if the two of you discussed marriage in the past and the possibility of getting married, she would still be shocked if you set up a proposal for her. She thought that she would be the one to propose to you, but she never had much romantic flare, and she got so caught up in working that she never set aside too much time to plan a proposal - and you got ahead of her and planned one before she could think too much about it. (You were very romantic, and even though she never said it much, you knew that she loved being romanced and swept off her feet.)
She is still a private person, so she wouldn't want it to be a public or even semi-public proposal - she would be okay if her close friends were there (basically, her BAU family), but that's about it.
I think she would love something like this - you waiting at the office when the team gets back from a case. You have had the help of Garcia (who just lives for this kind of stuff, and practically squealed with glee when you told her that you needed her help setting up a proposal for Emily) (and she had the hardest time not blabbing the secret to everyone, but she managed to keep it under wraps, even if everyone knew she was acting weird for some reason) - you printed out pictures of your relationship with Emily and decorated the round table room with them, themeing the room with pictures of beauty and happiness instead of all the horrific crime-scene photos that Emily has had to see there before.
Derek insisted that he needed Emily's attention in the room (because of course, on the way back, Penelope had called him, and talked his ear off about how he could help, all to excited about the prospect of romance and love) - and Emily stood in loving awe at seeing you in the middle of the room, candles lit, as you got down on one knee - and everyone funnelled in to watch as you gave an epic speech, summarizing how much you loved her and how, even if the world could be filled with horrors, you wanted to be with her through it all.
Naturally, she said yes - and there wasn't a dry eye among the team.
Tumblr media
Spencer would absolutely love it.
Of course, because of traditional gender roles (and the heteronormative idea being planted in his head that he was likely going to end up in a straight relationship) - Spencer always pictured himself as the one who would perform the proposal, rather that the one being proposed to. Even when he first got into a relationship with you, it lingered in the back of his mind that he would probably be the one to plan the proposal and execute it - so when marriage was heavily discussed between the two of you, and it seemed like the true next logical step in your relationship, Spencer found himself delightfully surprised when you planned a marriage proposal for him.
He was the super romantic type. He loved doing hyper romantic things for you, but he was never prepared when you returned that romance for him. He wouldn't care if the proposal was public or not, but he would feel shy about things being centered around him for once and all the attention being on him - but he would love how much effort you put into it.
You made it perfect for him. You took him out on a date - going to his favourite restaurant, and then you took him to the planetarium. You proposed to him under a beautiful sky full of stars, with a simple ring that he could wear to show off the commitment - he tried to hide his tears of happiness in the darkness of the room, and he kissed you with the utmost passion after he said yes. He couldn't have been happier, knowing that this was the start of a long life that the two of you got to spend together.

One of the most annoying things about POTS- I have a separate air conditioning unit from the rest of the house in order to keep my bedroom at the same temperature throughout the day. It's set to 80F° and has not changed at all, but I keep having to bury myself under my thick fluffy blanket and heavy bed comforter because I'm freezing- then I through it off because it's way to hot and I feel like I'm burning up- which sucks. It's like having a fever, but I very much do not have one- I checked .
To summarize my rant about the annoyances of having no body temperature regulation due to POTS- is
Temperature- no change
Body heat- burning up or freezing, switching at random
This is bs- I want a refund on my very dysfunctional body

Can you make a top for the MHA fights? From your favorites to your least favorites.
You can take the coreography, narrative weight (the stakes behind and or clashing ideals) and logic behind them (by this i mean if the winner makes sense or not)
There’s a lot of fights in MHA so I’m just going to focus on my top 5 faves/least faves.
Favorites:
1. Shoto vs Izuku: if any fight could summarize the central theme of MHA it’s this one. I loved seeing Izuku break down Shoto’s walls, I loved seeing Shoto let loose and actually smile for the first time, and I loved how Izuku sacrificed a pretty easy win because he saw someone who was hurting and wanted to help them.
2. All Might vs Nomu: This is a fight that’s just pure fun. Sure, it was a slugfest between All Might and Nomu, but it was a hype one. I liked seeing All Might find a way to defeat an opponent who seems unbeatable.
3. Hawks vs Twice: as I’ve mentioned before, this is a wonderful and heart wrenching fight. Something people don’t notice is that Hawks was actually trying to save Twice. He gave Twice numerous outs and even mentioned that he sees good in him. However, Twice’s loyalty to his friends made him refuse to go to the good side. Hawks, having been trained by the HPSC to be nothing more than a weapon, proved that he was more than that. Twice himself, someone who was constantly seen as an unstable freak, showed us that not everyone who’s bad was born bad. In the end, Hawks put down Twice because he legitimately saw no other way to end the fight.
4. Stain vs Tenya, Izuku, and Shoto: A fantastic fight that shows off Izuku’s true heroic nature and Shoto’s growth while also serving as a great teaching lesson for Tenya.
5. All Might vs AFO: A great fight to end the first set of arcs of MHA. I don’t really have much to say outside of that.
Honorable mentions go to Overhaul vs Izuku, Ejiro going into unbreakable mode for the first time, and Tamaki vs Three of the Eight Bullets.
Least favorite fights (not really going to explain them in detail cause if you’ve read my blog you’d know why I hate these fights):
1. Katsuki vs AFO: Katsuki’s plot armor breaks new grounds as he wakes up from having his arm broken and his heart blown out with no injures, gets a BS quirk awakening, and manages to defeat AFO because the villain was too stupid and didn’t get rid of rewind after he was fully healed.
2. Kacchan vs Deku 2: Katsuki gets his dick sucked for the billionth time while he beats on his victim, ignoring that Izuku was grieving All Might’s retirement too.
3. Kacchan vs Deku 1: Katsuki’s first dick sucking session begins as he’s somehow able to change fighting styles midway through combat despite having no formal training. He was also aiming to essentially torture Izuku and fired off an explosion that would’ve seriously injured, if outright not killed him. Of course, since Hori loves Katsuki, he only gets told to grow up.
4. Katsuki’s fight in the Joint Training Arc: Oh look, a failed attempt at showing that Katsuki’s developed in any meaningful way. Also, let’s watch Hori wank off his favorite again.
5. Katsuki vs Ochako: a failed attempt at displaying a pro-feminism message by Hori because it amounts to another dick sucking session for Katsuki.
Dishonorable mentions go to any fight Katsuki’s in because they’re always Katsuki dick sucking sessions, Hitoshi vs Izuku because Hitoshi’s hypocritical bitch ass was annoying to watch even when Izuku was kicking his ass, and Ochako vs Yui (this one’s cause I’m petty af and as even though I like Ochako, we Stan Yui in this house and she had a higher skill stat so I would’ve liked for her to at least put up a fight)

what does she say in this video that you posted? if you understand spanish
yes, you are in luck 😁 i do speak and understand spanish, but i think i need to give a little more context for you to understand this video.
first, the spanish national team has its training residence at las rozas, which is in madrid. however, after the firestorm that was created by the player protests last september, rfef at the last minute moved the camp to oliva sports center, near valencia. (basically, i think rfef wanted to avoid the press and all the media scrutiny on them. player safety is a bs excuse)
so in the video, alexia is responding to media questioning about what was going on. and to quickly summarize she basically says that "the team had to go to oliva when the home of the national team and the federation is at las rozas. and the players didn't do anything bad to be away from there. [rfef] says it was for security. but security, why? i can't respond to why we moved. the people who have to respond are those who make the decisions...how everything is going down. it's very shocking."
this video and her entire press conference after the oliva conclave with irene paredes is incredibly ground-shifting for all the conversations surrounding the national team. you have to realize that alexia isn't someone who just speaks her mind all the time. she's very even keeled, measured, and diplomatic when she speaks and doesn't give crazy sound bytes.
so for her to be so pissed off or at the minimum visibly annoyed as you can tell in the video is certainly something. and then for her to lay out in no uncertain terms what's going down and to even answer questions in catalan during the press conference, which is a big freaking deal when you are representing the spanish national team at a rfef event, was amazing! if you want to watch the whole thing, the video starts at 30:15

There’s this quote I have on my wall that goes something like “I cannot do all the good the world needs, but the world needs all the good I can do” and I think that summarizes Ted Lasso pretty well. His kindness and optimism isn’t gonna make the world stop being harsh and unfair, but because the world is harsh and unfair, the people in it desperately needs his kindness and optimism. He can’t single-handedly rid the world of its darkness, but he can make the lives of everyone at Richmond just a bit brighter.
That’s why all that “Ted Lasso Can’t Save Us” stuff is BS to me. Of course a silly little TV show isn’t going to get rid of all divides between humans, cure depression, bolster the economy, and save the environment or whatever. But for forty minutes, people get to laugh and smile together and believe that they might be okay. So hell yeah, I believe in the power of Ted Lasso.

venigni midnight thoughts, spoilers ahoy
tldr: i get it now venigni lovers i love him too now wtf 😭
i legitimately thought venigni is gonna be one of those arrogant narcissistic bastard that is successful type of character. but over time his character is growing on me.
got to the hermit's cave and found medoro's last diaries. said lorenzini lost hope. he really tried to stop this disaster from happening, to unveil the truth. kinda got persona 4 there but ya get what i mean.
and then the cryptic vessels, he said something about being tired of the high society gossips and secrets. understandable, honestly. feel like behind all his talk about the prince of high society and being brilliant and all is just someone who is. so tired. and wants to rest his head with someone he truly trusts. the song lyric below seems to summarize what i think his stance on relationships are. (the oh hellos - hello my old heart)
Tumblr media
i feel like p is the first person that he's seen in a while that's legitimately coming at him from the point of comradeship, not from a worker standpoint, not from secret alchemist shenanigans, or high society bs. he likes p's presence because it's about the only time he could be himself, a nerdy and kinda offbeat guy.
he might be feeling a bit guilty for not being a fighter either, all he could do is talk and support. he could have used puppets to help him but they're all kinda. going nucking futs. so. he doesn't feel enough, he feels like he's gotta be out there but he can't and it's probably just. not good on him.

I have to ask out of curiosity, on the TVTropes wiki page, the Miraculous Ladybug page says that the show is a Magical Girl/Superhero genre hybrid of sorts. If you believe that is the case, since I believe it might be just speculation, would that change or impact what the rules can be established or removed in either of these genres?
The reason why I made the essay with Magical Girls at its focus - was simply because I’m more well versed in Magical Girl stories than super heroes. As well as the fact that it hurt me deeply as a fan of that genre.
But let it be known. Miraculous Ladybug suck ass as a Superhero story too.
Tumblr media
For mostly the same reasons as I stated in the Magical Girl Analysis because…
Well, Magical Girls ARE superheroes.
Like, sexism has sort of wrapped peoples’ idea of what Magical Girls are but despite all the frills and cuteness - these are girls that fight evil on a daily with super powers and secret identities.
You see, Japan and the USA have very different ways of marketing their animated show for children. Japan has a very gendered demographic, you have Shoujo and you have Shounen. They’re aimed for different audiences. While boys have stuff like Kamen Raiden and Super Seitan, girls have Pretty Cure. They serve the exact same purpose they’re just - gendered differently.
The USA has…also! Gender. Just. One.
It’s supposed a nebulous “kids” with mass appeal, aka unisex of sorts…? But no, really it’s just boys. And maybe girls to get them to buy toys.
When it comes to superheroes in particular, that’s the main difference.
It’s not a Magical Girl with Superhero thing, but American Superhero for girls with Japanese Superhero for girls.
The real issue MLB has when it tries to shoehorn in the Superhero theme is that…it sorta sucks?
Like, if it’s lagging behind Magical Girl adjacent takes in the western hemisphere, it’s outright losing in the SuperHero department.
While Anime has been sort of mainstream for the last 20 or so years (maybe less), which leads to maybe 15 years worth of Magical Girl takes in western cartoons…
There’s almost a century worth of Superheroes before MLB.
Everything that could have been done by MLB was done by superhero stories at least in the 1970’s.
Even the idea of “girls superhero” is something seen before. Like, we have the powerpuff girls, we have wordgirl, we have Kim Possible, DC superhero girls, totally spies…
It’s not a new concept. In fact, superheroes are such a common concept that blockbuster movies are running out of ideas. So they’re throwing everything they can at the board to see what sticks, creating something so Goddamned convoluted no one has the brain energy left to keep up with it.
Sounds familiar?
It’s obvious that the creative team took heavy inspiration from magical girls to make their superhero story. In their head, and at surface level, this makes sense.
BUT as I’ve stated above, there’s a cultural difference between Magical Girls and Superheroes each baked into the identity of each genre.
This is the rough equivalent of trying to mix English Mythology with Japanese Mythology, knowing only about yokai and fairies in regards to each…if you know nothing it sorta makes sense but if you KNOW
Then it’s total BS
Which by the way, American and Japanaese superheroes mixed in, with Chinese culture as powers made by a French guy who knows next to nothing about any of these cultures…
Do you get why I keep calling Thomas’ weird attitudes towards his project a “fetishization”? It’s because it is.
To summarize, even if you take this show as more of a Superhero story, it still sucks. My points would (for the most part) still stand. With the added caviar that it’s not only shameful for its lack of interest in its own genre - but the fact that every single person and their mother would see the story as 100x more uninspired. Because at least 5 other comics from 70s would have done smth similar with either powers or identities.
The only redeeming quality it had was it target towards little girls and doing so by borrowing the Magical girl aesthetic.
Which it fucking spat on and I’m still pissed about it.
In regards, and trying to answer your question - it’s complicated.
This would essentially be a massive cultural exchange challenge.
For example, the reason why superheroes in the USA have powers given to them as failed experiments and radioactive waste, while Japan has magic or aliens… is very much tied to their history and cultural identity.
The values that each have reflect on their superheroes too - American Superheroes may value individualism more than Japanese superheroes do.
And again, there’s the whole gendered thing. Superheroes stories in the USA tend to lean more gender neutral for mass appeal, Japanese superheroes are very heavily coded as in what they’re meant for. (Cough the reason why there’s so much queer subtext in magical girl stories cough)
So, asking the question “what rules should it make so that it’s a hybrid between these two genres”, while a valid one, I’m not sure I can be the one to answer it.
Because it depends. On what the creator saw, what they wanted, what they intended to say by mixing these two.
This is not something you ask AFTER you’ve your show. These are the questions you ask BEFORE it.
To properly create a hybrid, you ought to have a vision. And take parts of each to create what you wanted to say.
MLB borrows (or should I say steal?) aesthetics and surface level aspects of both genres. It broke as many American superhero rules as it did magical girl ones.
In specific, The Alger Ego and Theme stands as something it fucked over in BOTH. But it also failed superheroes. In what way, I really wouldn’t be able to tell.
I’m not a fan of superheroes. I don’t know why people like them, I don’t know why they watch them. I have a mild understanding of them but trying to tell you in the same depth as I did in the Magical Girl Essay what exactly they did wrong…would be an impossible task to me.
But if Thomas thinks that we, the magical girl fans, are mean to him…oh boy. Wait till he tells a Marvel Stan he thinks he’s made the best superhero story ever.
I would pay money for that

to all my friends and followers, Ignore this unless you want a fanfiction of an old claymation Christmas movie.
Tumblr media
Ok! I’ll be honest! I heard of the Miser Brothers like 6 years ago and the moment I watched the movie I FELL FOR SNOWY UP THERE! 👆
Like he was legitimately an total obsession of mine for MONTHS after Christmas!
Recently my little cringy maniac brain began to think. 🤔 “what if I made a snowmiser x reader fanfic?” the question has been rolling around in my head and I think I got a cool idea for general plot.
to summarize, Mother Nature is getting tired of being Mother Nature, so she decides that if one of her children can find someone worthy enough of the task they will take her place so she can retire.
basically Mother Nature is done with her kids bs and wants some grandkids 😅
but if you guys are interested feel free to comment and stuff❤️

succession s4 e6 recap: bite me
happy international workers day, girlies!!
let's celebrate by watching billionaires be responsible for multiple SEC violations!
the bitch is back.
Tumblr media
shitting on his children even from beyond the grave.
the video in question: logan speaking of their new product, living+, which will play a surprisingly large role in this episode, given we've never heard of it before.
Tumblr media
shiv has a private jet rendezvous with mattson. they both excel at flirting:
mattson: we're buddies, can we talk? shiv: no, maybe i fucking hate you.
true romance<3
mattson tells her about the CE-bros and their little freakout on the mountain, which is the opposite of what her brothers eventually tell her during the meeting with the inner circle.
ken and rome, still adamant about tanking the deal, tell them that elon musk mattson is unstable and druggy etc etc etc --
somehow, i don't think any of them are buying it.
Tumblr media
shiv sure as shit doesn't buy their bs.
Tumblr media
this is the comeback i've been waiting for.
roman immediately makes his sadboy face and asks for a hug, because all he wants is love, but my heart is starting to harden. he is truly in his flop era this episode.
shiv pencils in 20 minutes in her calendar to cry.
Tumblr media
i love you, shiv roy. ilysm, but you will never be holly hunter from broadcast news.
cry-time is briefly interrupted by making out with the future ex-husband she absolutely hates.
we've all been there.
roman has to deal with hollywood.
he is not pleased.
Tumblr media
i can sense the utter distain jesse armstrong has for hollywood through my screen.
the hollywood exec pushes one of roman's buttons (lots of them lately) and he fires her in a way that reminds me of logan, but also doesn't. i have a feeling logan would send "the help" to do the dirty work for him?
roman's firing spree begins. we all know where this is headed.
kendall is being annoying.
Tumblr media
asking too much and telling your staff they can never say no?
just a regular day for me, working with politicians.
also, a fucking minefield in terms of sexual harassment, don't we think?
anyway, he wants to play house on stage and fudge the numbers and be the cringiest of cringe. let kendall be kendall, i guess.
tom and shiv hook up twice in this episode????
unrealistic.
Tumblr media
also they bite each other.
i shouldn't have to elaborate on that.
ken and rome are still working on their "tank the deal" plan and so far the road ahead seems very realistic and not at all like the potential symptom of bipolar disorder.
for once, greg is of use and summarizes their strategy pretty well:
Tumblr media
bla bla bla business talk bla bla bla i don't care.
roman contemplates his own mortality, as one does, and thinks there should be some other option.
death is, after all, very much one-size-fits-all.
and where does he want to end up post death, you ask?
Tumblr media
inside a tortoise 👀
conveniently, gerri calls him in for a talk to chat to him about some very serious issues, such as:
Tumblr media
roman is shocked to know he can't just do whatever the fuck he pleases. but that's what my dad would do, he says, to which gerri responds, but you are not your dad.
i think we've hit another button..........
Tumblr media
and gerri, having zero fucks left to give, does not hold back.
Tumblr media
uh oh.
and thus, roman's firing spree continues.
Tumblr media
i'm broken.
and also mad.
Tumblr media
i know there are probably some readers of this recap not entirely obsessed with romangerri (but really, do you exist?!), but i just have to say, please endulge me.
we're just over halfway through the season and gerri's been fired twice. let me wallow.
kendall, however, is thrilled about this unhinged energy:
Tumblr media
"fucking eat greg" is perhaps the funniest thing he's ever said.
meanwhile, after sleeping together, shiv and tom share a heartfelt moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
just kidding.
tom says he loves money.
how gauche of him.
the set is not up to par for our mate kendall over here, so he morphs into joni mitchell for a short sec:
Tumblr media
I'VE LOOKED AT CLOUD FROM BOTH SIDES NOW!
where are the clouds from berlin?? really makes u think:(
luckily, he can fudge the numbers some more to elevate the stock price to distract himself.
the sibs, however, notice his erratic behavior, and shiv convinces rome that this whole presentation is not a good idea.
Tumblr media
and despite the eventual outcome, i think they are right, given ken's track record.
karl has a spine conspiracy?????
Tumblr media
it feels good having the old guard telling the kiddos how they truly feel.
in the back of his mind, all karl is thinking about is that greek island. that's queen shit.
kendall goes on stage alone, because roman really doesn't want to wear his stupid pilot jacket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he interacts with a video version of his late dad, which of course shows a man that is so very stable.
best roman quote of the episode: if i cringe any harder i might become a fossil.
gerri agrees, but in a more resigned way:
Tumblr media
couples who hate on kendall's speeches together, stay together<3 (this is what denial looks like).
my summary of kendall's presentation: starts out shit, then he pivots into karolina's script and it's fine, and then he plays the dead dad card and we can't really argue with that.
living+ is still a fucking shitshow imo. not sure if i would go as far as mattson, tho:
Tumblr media
yikes.
leave it to the swedes to underestimate nazi discourse (please don't come for me swedes, you know).
greg unfortunately has the best line of the episode:
Tumblr media
and turns out, it is very much true.
Tumblr media
tom channeling his inner oprah was not on my 2023 bingo card.
and they all agreed ken did a great job.
Tumblr media
and karl devolves into his usual, spineless self:(
i have a feeling this all means an end to whatever sibling solidarity we've been seeing, given shiv and roman's reactions.
roman comforts himself by listening to what is basically an AI generated clip of his dad saying he has a small penis.
Tumblr media
shiv and tom seem to decide to keep it all business, but also not??
Tumblr media
it feels more or less like a high school relationship to me at this point. i love it.
and we get a clip of kendall in the water, but he didn't die, so i couldn't use one of my precious screengrabs on that.
you all should probably thank the tumblr gods that they have a 30 image limit on these posts.
see you next week for the afterparty, featuring more scandis for me to make strange references about!

From dreams to reality: unveiling the ideal in situ construction method for lunar habitats and paving the way to Moon colonization
As the lunar exploration mission evolves from exploration to construction and utilization, in situ lunar construction becomes an imperative requirement. The core lies in regolith solidification and formation, aiming to maximize local resource utilization while minimizing transportation and maintenance costs. Nearly 20 techniques have been employed for preparing regolith-based construction materials, each with distinct requirements and capabilities. Professor Feng from Tsinghua University has conducted a comprehensive review, precise classification, and quantitative evaluation of regolith solidification and formation techniques, shedding light on key challenges and future development directions.
Based on the technical mechanisms of bonding and cohesion between particles, regolith solidification and formation technologies can be categorized into four groups: reaction solidification (RS), sintering/melting (SM), bonding solidification (BS), and confinement formation (CF) methods. Specific techniques are further categorized based on implementation requirements, establishing a robust technological composition system. This research quantitatively describes each technique, summarizing processes and performance parameters.
In reaction solidification, regolith particles are bonded together through reacted compounds. This method relies on reaction materials transported by rockets, with local regolith typically comprising 60-95% of the overall mixture. Sintering/melting involves subjecting the regolith to high-temperature treatment, with in situ ratios commonly reaching 100%. However, heating temperatures exceeding 1000℃ can pose challenges regarding energy supply and equipment operation. Alternatively, bonding solidification utilizes binders to adhere particles, with an in situ ratio of 65-95%. This method requires lower temperatures and less time for solidification. Confinement formation employs fabric to constrain regolith, forming regolith bag components through overall confinement without establishing connections between particles. With an in situ ratio of up to 99%, this method demands relatively low temperature and time requirements, while the formed components exhibit tensile advantage but may lack sufficient compressive strength.
In the quest for cost-effective and high-performance materials for lunar construction, researchers face the challenge of minimizing resource consumption, energy requirements, and operational complexity while ensuring reliability in the lunar environment. To address this, the research team introduces the 8IMEM quantification method, encompassing eight evaluation indicators and scoring thresholds tailored to construction needs. According to the evaluation results, regolith bagging emerges as the highest-rated technique, demanding lower material, equipment, and energy requirements and enabling rapid formation of large components. It offers promising prospects for large-scale in situ lunar construction. Sintering/melting techniques consistently rank high, while casting techniques exhibit exceptional curing strength, rendering them suitable for manufacturing critical components. Solar melting techniques directly harness solar energy, making them ideal for low-energy consumption construction.
To align with lunar construction conditions and the long-term goals of the International Lunar Research Stations, a comprehensive four-stage plan has been devised: Laboratory, Research Station, Residence, and Habitat. Each stage has specific functions and distinct construction objectives, ensuring a progressive and sustainable development of lunar infrastructure. The Laboratory stage primarily supports unmanned research projects, while the Research Station stage accommodates astronauts for temporary scientific research missions. The Residence stage is designed to meet all the work and life requirements of astronauts on the Moon, resembling a space station in functionality. Lastly, the Habitat stage is envisioned as a self-sustaining habitat for human life and a relay station for deep space exploration. To achieve the construction objectives of each stage, the research team further analyzed the structural construction objectives. Based on quantitative evaluations, they proposed regolith bag technology as a solution for lunar base construction.
By leveraging the insights derived from this comprehensive evaluation, researchers can make informed decisions on material preparation techniques, paving the way for optimized lunar construction endeavors. Additionally, the proposed lunar habitat design based on regolith bags is a practical reference for future research.
IMAGE....Based on the technical mechanisms of bonding and cohesion between particles, regolith solidification and formation technologies can be categorized into four groups: reaction solidification (RS), sintering/melting (SM), bonding solidification (BS), and confinement formation (CF) methods. Bestie please tell me wtmf is going on with your "royal heritage"
Did you commit clarity or dynasty or devil's don't fly or sth??
-@drewybear
it's complicated but I'll try summarizing it for you. (btw this is personal so for anyone who's not a friend of mine, dni with this post.)
tw for death and murder I guess
.
.
.
.
So basically some time ago me, my dad and my past mom were all living well in our palace and we ruled the luni nation. however since in L*ni nation royalty is gained by blood and heritage, we didn't really have a choice. my mom was always a believer of RosyClozy but bc of the bs going on in the l*ni nation she wasn't allowed to express it. but once people have found out well. a BUNCH of things happened and soon they held my mother captive. me and my dad were also hated for this and were constantly at danger of our lives being taken away. once we all tried to escape together but shit went south and my mom was captured and only my dad and me managed to flee. we moved near rosemeadow high where we came to be accepted for our beliefs. dad soon met Shannon, and after a while, he, well, managed to move on.
I still miss her.
we both do.
but overall, the reason why I hate being called a princess is because,
I never chose to be one
The people we were supposed to rule over turned on us
It just reminds me of everything that happened.
There is much more to it, but this is all I'm gonna share for now.

The Commander is evil
It got brought up once again on the GW2 official forums about the Commander antagonizing Balthazar (or not), and I just want to share my thoughts here.
But the Commander is a straight up criminal who does many evil things. But because the Commander is "the good guy", they don't get criticized.
To bring up Balthazar specifically, the god who died for the writers' sins, the discussion was basically whether or not the Commander was the one who antagonized him in Flashpoint, specifically during Taimi's Pet Project.
Their argument is:
I'm so sick and tired of seeing this "we antagonized Balthazar" BS. Balthazar, while disguised, was blatantly lying about his identity, working with known genocidal terrorists, and was actively trying to get himself involved with the Elder Dragons and Aurene, the most powerful beings on Tyria, who controlled the fate of the world. Trying to learn the real identity of a person leading mass murdering terrorists, trying to get their hands on WMDs, is not antagonizing anyone, its basic due diligence. Any claim that we "antagonized" Balthazar is 100%, utterly, and totally, misrepresentation of what actually happened, and borders on a bold faced lie.
I want to address each point in turn, and add on a couple points of Balthazar's actions in Path of Fire. So to summarize, why is Balthazar evil? Why is he the villain? Because:
Balthazar disguised himself and was blatantly lying about his identity.
Worked with known genocidal terrorists.
Was actively trying to "get himself involved with" (read: fight and kill) the Elder Dragons and (read: ally with) Aurene (aka "the good Elder Dragon").
Tried to get their hands on Weapons of Mass Destruction. (next are my own additions)
Mass slaughtered people in the Crystal Desert.
Knowingly put Tyria at risk to kill an Elder Dragon.
This established, I will prove how the Pact Commander does each and every one of these things at least once. The Commander (and friends) also does deeds that we go after other villains for. I'll address these at the end.
1) Balthazar disguised himself and lied about his identity.
This one is perhaps the most notoriously done act of the Commander. But the three most important situations (and two overlap with the next point) are:
First, in Season 3 Episode 3, the Commander pretends to be a Svanir in order to get an elixir made of... questionable ingredients (egg shells, really?). And in the process, antagonizes the Sons of Svanir into attacking nearby travelers and specifically Braham. This happens during the same time Balthazar is posing as Lazarus in order to get access to their funds.
Next, while still dealing with Balthazar, the Commander murders then pretends to be Iberu in order to commandeer the Awakened army. All this after after actively taunting Joko (which resulted in Joko taking it personally and launching an invasion on Central Tyria once freed).
Most recently, the Commander temporarily pretended to be Ryland, fooling their own allies in the process (though optionally able to tell Crecia the truth) because Rytlock had some paranoia about Bangar (which, granted, turned out to be true but there was still zero credible evidence).
This doesn't go into the many times in the personal story or open world where the Commander pretends to be an enemy force in order to sabotage or steal from the group, i.e., exactly what Balthazar did while pretending to be Lazarus.
2) Balthazar worked with known genocidal terrorists - aka the White Mantle.
I already pointed out how the Commander worked with Awakened and Mordant Crescent - a known and well established oppressive regime, which is arguably worse than working with the White Mantle....
But the Commander does worse than that.
The Commander actively frees and sets loose the very same "known genocidal terrorists" that Balthazar manipulated, stole from, imprisoned, and killed. The reason we freed them and set them loose upon the world again? Because Balthazar imprisoned them. And the person who asked the Commander to free them claimed "I'm not with them anymore".
Escaped Prisoner Arissea: Most of them are White Mantle, but I'm not with them—anymore. We were the first wave of workers Lazarus sent here to make ready for his arrival. Apparently, we became obsolete. Pact Commander: Obsolete? Escaped Prisoner Arissea: Lazarus turned on the White Mantle. He pillaged our treasury, and then he had us all locked up like rabid dogs. These blockheaded mercenaries are his pets now. History repeats itself, I suppose. Pact Commander: How is history repeating itself? Escaped Prisoner Arissea: Long ago, the mursaat turned on their followers one other time, after they'd conquered the charr. Lazarus was there. And he's done it again. Turned on us. We should've known better.
Arissea isn't really accurate either, but seems fully unaware that it was Balthazar, not Lazarus, who betrayed them. But we go and free the various prisoners because Arissea asked them to, because Balthazar was the baddie, and because the prisoners "promised" to do no more ill.
The Commander doesn't have the Vigil who had an active presence on the island take custody. They just set them free.
Hell, some of the prisoners outright go on their word about renouncing the White Mantle when they get freed:
White Mantle Seeker (male): Lazarus, forgive me. I failed the White Mantle. White Mantle Seeker (female): I am White Mantle! You cannot keep me!
So who's worse here? Balthazar who tricked and imprisoned known terrorist cultists, or the Commander who freed the terrorists?
3a) Balthazar was actively trying to fight the Elder Dragons and 6) knowingly put Tyria at risk to kill an Elder Dragon
Honestly this is a ridiculous argument because this is literally the entire narrative of the first ten years of Guild Wars 2 with the Commander. At the point in time the Commander attacks Balthazar, Taimi's Pet Project, it was not yet known that killing the Elder Dragons is bad for the world - there were hints, but nothing confirmed.
Granted Balthazar knew, so this is a point against them, but the Commander didn't know that Balthazar knew this. So it is an act of the Commander antagonizing them.
But here's the thing, even when the Commander knew that killing the Elder Dragons without replacements was bad... the Commander still fought and killed Elder Dragons. Twice.
First is Kralkatorrik. Now, we did have Aurene, but there was no actual proof that Aurene could replace Kralkatorrik. The smart thing to have done would have been to have Aurene or another replacement gather up Zhaitan's and/or Mordremoth's ambient magic to become an Elder Dragon.
Granted, there was the whole matter of Kralkatorrik threatening the fabric of reality. So the Commander can get a tentative pass on this one.
But there is no excuse for the deaths of Jormag and Primordus.
The Commander did not have a replacement ready.
The Commander and friends actively pushed for Primordus' rise (more on this later).
The Commander had no proof, or even supporting evidence, that Aurene could replace more than one Elder Dragon.
Though it is presented as a "we had no other choice", they very much did - by allying with Jormag with tentative clauses that should be followed.
The first and third are self-explanatory so I won't delve into that. But the fourth one can use a bit more meat to explain. It's repeatedly stated throughout IBS that Jormag and Primordus are twinned and that they are each other's unique "and only" weaknesses... but is that true?
You see, Mordremoth's "unique weakness" was his mind; and Zhaitan's "unique weakness" was their overreliance on their minions - the Eyes and Mouths of Zhaitan. But in Season 3, and technically in the personal story, we get multiple indications that Zhaitan and Mordremoth's were also each other's weaknesses.
In the personal story, Caladbolg was used to kill Mazdak, who was otherwise immortal, and caused particular harm to the Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan; it was also used, alongside sylvari magic, to cleanse Zhaitan's corruption.
In Season 3 Episode 3, we have the Unstable Abomination, who's killed by exposing it to Zhaitan's and Mordremoth's magic by killing grubs containing said magic; thing is when you kill Zhaitan grubs, that also kills Mordremoth grubs and vice versa. (This creates a bit of an oddity with the existence of sylvari necromancers when S3 also established that all Tyrian magic is Dragon magic and thus all death magic is Zhaitan magic but I digress here).
In Season 3 Episode 6, we get dialogue calling Mordremoth out as "life" (specifically plantlife) as a direct opposite to Zhaitan's death - in the same manner that Jormag's ice is in direct opposite to Primordus' fire.
Additionally to this, in Season 3 Episode 3 we have the jotun scroll enchanting Aesgir's fists and Braham's bow with fire magic capable of harming Jormag, and we have the Spirit of Fire which can similarly harm fire. There is no evidence (despite some fan theories) that the jotun scroll called upon Primordus' power - in fact, given the Darkrime Delves stone summit's lore, it would be very likely that the jotun scroll does not channel Primordus' power, because when the Stone Summit channeled a tiny bit of Primordus' power, it immediately began to burn and consume them from within rapidly, like a ravenous wildfire.
And it wouldn't need to - since "all Tyrian magic is Dragon magic", this means that all fire magic in Tyria runs counter to Jormag... Primordus is just the highest concentration of it.
So the idea presented that Primordus was the only way to kill Jormag is... presentably false.
As to working with Jormag - they're set up very much as an Elder Dragon of deception, but most of the reasoning behind not working with Jormag was simply two fold:
You cannot trust an Elder Dragon besides Aurene (which End of Dragons then immediately decided to debunk)
Jormag had done bad deeds in the past.
Both are kind of silly. The whole "Elder Dragons are evil" come from the notion that they're forces of nature causing harm, and is decidedly proven wrong with Aurene and Soo-Won. Aurene even established in End of Dragons that she had been in contact with Soo-Won for quite some time, and implied that she was even during the events of IBS. Which means Aurene knew there was another good Elder Dragon out there...
And to the idea of people being irredeemable... well if that were true, why are we working with Canach? Gorrik and Blish? Or bothered with Mai Trin? Or hell, even Braham?
While Taimi's argument for allying with Jormag was fundamentally stupid (and makes me want to strangle her Homer-strangling-Bart style every time I hear that asinine "You still live in the mountains!" (NOT THE SAME MOUNTAINS!), the concept did have merit... until Jormag got fed up with Aurene refusing to help out and resorted to absorbing conflicting magic and utilizing the Frozen.
But that's all hypotheticals and going off on a tangent. To bring it all back home - the Commander did not know until End of Dragons that Aurene could replace all six Elder Dragons - during Season 4 and Icebrood Saga, the Commander and Dragon's Watch were all working on the assumption that Aurene could only replace one Elder Dragon.
Balthazar is criminalized for attacking the Elder Dragons despite knowing it could lead to Tyria's destruction and not caring. The Commander is praised as a hero for attacking the Elder Dragons despite knowing it could lead to Tyria's destruction, having no backup plan, but still "caring".
Cue meme "corporate wants you to find the difference - they're the same picture".
3b) Balthazar tried to get involved with Aurene, a potential replacement for the Elder Dragons.
I mean, his plan was to go after every Elder Dragon so naturally he would want to ally with the Pact Commander and the third most useful weapon against Kralkatorrik. Why this is used to criminalize Balthazar is... honestly weird.
Besides, the Commander does this in End of Dragons with Soo-Won. Worse yet, this is despite Soo-Won telling the Commander to not get involved with her. The Commander does anyways because they don't trust Joon because she worked with Mai Trin. So the Commander works with Mai Trin... to investigate jadetech and find out that it's all powered by Soo-Won... Then proceeds to see if Soo-Won is being imprisoned... after spending an entire campaign telling Bangar that Elder Dragons cannot be contained...
Logic!
So Balthazar's the bad guy for wanting to associate with Aurene in his quest to kill the Elder Dragons. Joon is suspect for associating with a pirate and assassin. But the Commander is the hero for associating with Aurene in their quest to kill the Elder Dragons, associating with a pirate and assassin, and associating with Soo-Won in their quest to kill the Elder Dragons.
Cue meme "corporate wants you to find the difference - they're the same picture".
4) Balthazar tried to get his hands on a Weapon of Mass Destruction (Taimi's Machine) by thievery.
Well, firstly, the entire point of Taimi's Machine was that it was a Weapon of No Destruction because it would specifically target Primordus and Jormag and only them.
But let's take role call:
At home, we fare less well. Interrogated captives from the Flame Legion report that their Imperator, Gaheron Baelfire, is building a mighty weapon in the fire-mountains north of Ascalon. They do not know its nature, but say that when he is done, Gaheron will be powerful enough to rival even the human gods. Whatever this weapon may be, if it is so powerful, it could be used to destroy Zhaitan and Orr.
Letter from Rytlock to charr PC during Forging the Pact. The Pact wanted a weapon of mass destruction held by the Flame Legion (turned out to be Gaheron's god form, unusable for them) to use against Zhaitan and would resort to thievery to get it.
Then in Orr, the Pact used a Searing Cauldron - a weapon of mass destruction formerly held by the Flame Legion - on a temple. Got this by stealing it from the risen.
In Crucible of Eternity, Zojja stole Kudu's research to build the MEGA-LIT canon to use against Zhaitan. Not quite a WMD, but still a weapon obtained through thievery.
In End of Dragons, Dragon's Watch goes to steal Ankka's Extractor to use on Soo-Won. Not quite a WMD, but a weapon obtained through thievery.
And people can't use the argument of "using it would have destroyed the world this is why the Commander went after Balthazar" - because the Commander didn't know this until the end of Elder Druid Protection, well after being in Draconis Mons and obtaining a way to enter the caldera. It was literally a dues ex machina of reasons to justify antagonizing Balthazar after the fact.
So once again, cue the meme.
5) Mass Slaughter in the Crystal Desert
Now Balthazar is definitely a criminal for this, but it should be worth keeping in mind that this was an act done after the Commander attacked Balthazar, leaving him little choice but to make his own army - and the Zaishen, diminished from their glory days, wouldn't have been enough to tackle both Awakened and Branded.
I won't say Balthazar was justified... but it's not an unreasonable act given the circumstances forced upon him.
However, the Commander is just as guilty. While they didn't go on a mass slaughter in the Crystal Desert, the Commander has done on slaughter trips. For example:
The Commander invaded and destroyed ogre homes.
Why? Why would the Commander do this? Destroying the homes and pets of ogres because other kraals went on attacking the nearby human and charr settlements? Because the ogres ran out of room in their home and needed to migrate and settle new lands?
Balthazar at least has a logical reason: he needed troops to take down Kralkatorrik, and was denied an alliance with the Pact. Scarlet Briar had similar logical reason: she needed an army to take on Mordremoth (though why she didn't even bother attempting to ally with the Commander is another matter and pure idiocy for such a "genius"). But the Commander slaughtering
This isn't even the only case of the Commander slaughtering non-hostiles just because they could. When raiding Rata Primus in Season 4 Episode 2, there are Inquest interns who are panicking and not attacking and the Commander just... kills them. Why? No reason.
Interns, who are mostly well established to be mislead or tricked into joining the Inquest, who are not in charge of the terrible experiments, who probably did far less than Gorrik and Blish did.
And the Commander is the the good guy.
7) Controlling an Elder Dragon
I said there were other things we criminalized other villains for but did ourself. This is one of them. Icebrood Saga is defined by us repeatedly telling Bangar that Elder Dragons cannot be leashed, we have the same argument with Kudu, and we go after Joon momentarily because we believe she's trying to do the same with Soo-Won, but then ends it with Braham leashing Primordus and he is lauded as a hero...
Just to present some quotes:
<Character name>: Bangar wants his own Elder Dragon. Braham Eirsson: That's a suicide mission. <Character name>: Bangar, you've seen how dangerous Jormag is. You just said it yourself: you can't risk others being turned. Bangar Ruinbringer: Drakkar's death at my hands sends them all a message: I am Jormag's champion now. I alone can control the dragon. <Character name>: Jormag can't be controlled! That's not how this works. Bangar Ruinbringer: You heard him. I'm gonna become Jormag's champion. Bend it to my will. Almorra Soulkeeper: That's not possible. [....] Almorra Soulkeeper: Your plan is insane. The last thing Tyria needs is another raging Elder Dragon. Bangar Ruinbringer: An Elder Dragon on a leash. MY leash. Almorra Soulkeeper: You won't listen to reason. I can't let you do this. Bangar Ruinbringer: "Can't let me?" You can't stop me. Rytlock Brimstone: What Braham did. What he's let himself become. Kid's a warrior. Efram Greetsglory: He's controlling the pure destruction and hunger of the raging flame—that's no small feat. <Character name>: We need him... Is he up to it? The leash he had those destroyers on was shaky. Efram Greetsglory: It was a leash, nonetheless. They came to his call and followed at his heels. Rytlock Brimstone: He's running them like a wolf pack. <Character name>: And what's the cost? We can't let this go on. He's struggling, and he's suffering. Rytlock Brimstone: Yeah, he is—for us. For all the right reasons, Commander.
Now obviously Kudu and Bangar are villains for other reasons. But the fact that Braham gets lauded and praised for doing something we spend 10 years telling others it's a bad idea rather than berating him is... stupid.
And it's only made worse by the fact that while Primordus was in the process of waking, Braham made it happen faster, causing even more death and destruction when everyone got caught off guard because he didn't bother to tell people ahead of time.
Yes, the heroes everyone, who does the same thing as the villains. Braham and the Commander.
In all honesty there's much more to go over than these, but I'll end it with one final note:
The hilarity of it is that ArenaNet has tried to play the "are we the baddies" card by having certain characters criticize the Commander's actions and hypocrisy. The issue is they always chose the worst characters - established liars, nihilists, and power-hungry hypocrites in their own right. Palawa Joko's speech is probably the most famous but the worst attempt at this, because it is fundamentally flawed even if it sounds logical at first glance (much like ChatGPT).
But then Ryland and Ankka try to do the same thing, after they've actively established themselves as the antagonists to the Commander.
Anyways, yeah. Running out of rant. Welcome to my TED talk. Commander is a criminal and should be tried for war crimes and multiple accounts of active endangerment against individuals, groups, countries, and the world itself.
But it's okay because they eat paint - I mean, are the good guys.

thoughts about the finale of the bsd anime since it's my favorite manga and the adaptation has consistently let me down and this was definitely no exception. obviously spoilers so don't read ahead if you aren't caught up.
so, to summarize, it was sorely underwhelming. at least from my perspective. there's a strong possibility that this is not canonical since they actually ran out of material to adapt and this could just be an exclusive ending to tie the anime up (even then, it was a laughably poor finale) so its shortcomings may not be reflected at all in the original product, though we'll still have a few months i imagine to see if that is indeed the case. but the writing was so unspeakably clumsy. fyodor is a criminal mastermind, a threat feared by even ranpo, the smartest character in the series. and yet you mean to tell me that he didn't even realize that chuuya was, what - wearing fake teeth and colored contacts? i call bullshit. i still think dazai, in the manga at least, will pull some trick to squeeze himself out of a death sentence and he isn't actually dead since that would be woefully anticlimatic for his character arc, but i want him to be backed into a corner as well. i want them to back each other into a corner instead of giving dazai the advantage the entire way through since that hardly makes for a compelling battle of wits. but that doesn't even mention all the build-up they've done in regards to fyodor's backstory. sigma knows the truth now due to the information exchange. his ability, his motives. but they don't even address that or even address sigma's fate at that. dazai seemed genuine when he swore he would help sigma escape. he specifically told him "i'll leave the rest up to you," which is redundant if he was in control of the situation the entire time. it feels unfinished and counterproductive. and i know that can be blamed on the allotted time they're allowed per episode but man, it's unfortunate. again i'm really praying that the manga pulls through, since it has the freedom to spin this around and give us the answers to the mystery they've been teasing since fyodor's introduction basically and if he does die, which its quite obvious fyodor will eventually since at the end of the day he is the main antagonist, maybe it'll have some more substance to it as opposed to whatever power of friendship bs we were humbly treated to in today's episode.
surprisingly, the best part of the episode for me was everything with fukuzawa and fukuchi. i thought the way they handled that was actually really well done and it paints fukuchi in a more sympathetic light at least, and fukuzawa's reaction to his death was soul-crushing. something something old man yaoi always prevails. also i'm not addressing whatever happened in the epilogue i think that's just for bad apple part 2 or whatever they're cooking up behind the scenes but it certainly came out of left field.
tldr it was not great, and i'm holding out for asagiri in the coming months with the manga, but if it indeed turns out the same way as it did in the anime... hmm.
