Mick was in the UK on the simulator, did great work, the engineers all did great work, and we made some steps forward today with the set-up and the car came really quite alive today. So I couldn't believe that we were out at the front, and I was just saying that I was having to eat my words during qualifying, 'cause I was through to the top ten, and yeah… On one side, because we're not fighting for a championship, I'm not down that I lost two-tenths in turn ten. I'm more like, it's great that we were fighting for second place for the first time in a long time, so I'll take it. I'll turn that bit of negativity into, hopefully, a good race tomorrow." Interviewer: "You want to read your words, as well, you said yesterday…" Lewis: "Youd don't need to tell me. I was just…" Interviewer: [laughs] "No, but you also said that the long run speed is terrible, and what is first of all tomorrow?" Lewis: "Well, I think the car is in a much better place and our long run pace isn't actually as bad as I thought, so tomorrow… what tires we're gonna be on, what the weather's gonna be up to. I'm just gonna try hunting down Max, somehow."

Somebody mentioned in a tag on one of my posts the scene where Marco Animorphs is showering after antmageddon and he finds an ant stuck to his hip by the pincers where it presumably was trying to bite him in half when he was an ant and then it died from him becoming very big very fast and I feel like that scene, and the scene where Cassie finds a sliver of a sentient person’s flesh between her teeth while she’s flossing and then flosses until her gums bleed, really deserve recognition in the literary canon. Applegate deserves an award. There should be a TV Trope named after whatever the fuck that is. Like fridge horror but diegetic. Bathroom horror. Your bedtime bathroom routine as an opportunity for personal confrontation with the violent detritus of the dead which lingers in and on your body even after you have ostensibly stripped yourself of weapons and healed over all your wounds.
