DO NOT REBLOG
I feel some type of way about claiming there are no ND or disabled people in biosciences or medicine or psych
because while its true it is much harder for us to access higher education and to succeed in the field due to hostility and lack of accomodations
That doesnt equate to us not existing there and in general the idea that academia and sciences is a secret club for the socially and economically privileged doesnt do anything to actually help marginalised people who are and have been working in that sphere for a long time and who have made huge contributions. Like man c'mon we all know those books and essays and studies on things like prison abolition, harm reduction, disability liberation etc etc did not write themselves
Like yeah academia is plagued with bigotry and reactionary politics and all of the shit that entails but that doesnt mean no one is doing worthwhile work
Idk im also choosing to take this somewhat personally because i talk regularly with fellow autistics doing health sciences degrees (of which there are a lot of us) and we are all already aware of the shitshow we are about to enter but to just act like no one like that (as in a marginalised person working in or studying a subject directly related to their lived reality) exists is a wee bit insulting and does nothing to actually help challenge dominant ideologies in science and academia
And if you are at uni and have access to academic databases i would really encourage you to go looking for radical lit because i promise you whatever the topic someone has published something on it and you should absolutely be exploiting your uni access privileges while you can

I'm dismayed by the referendum outcome but completely unsurprised by it.
I voted "YES" while angry about it.
Angry about it being the most pathetically milquetoast paper tiger possible,
angry that such a piddling insignificant thing was enough to further unify the cookers and the racists (not that there's much of a meaningful division between the two to begin with),
angry that those dropkicks got to freely whitewash their reprehensible nonsense by latching onto the many legitimate concerns about how fucking dodgy the proposal was,
angry that I felt obliged to vote "YES"—despite fully believing the proposal was fucking terrible—out of sheer irrational spite and wrathful indignation toward the very thought of being aligned in the slightest with Australia's broad spectrum fascism-would-be-good-actually crowd,
angry that no matter how pathetic, vague, and incoherent the YES-campaign was, the NO-campaign would be even worse AND that Australia would fall for it hook, line, and sinker; because Australians are an uptight, boorish, and fearfully conservative people with contemptible predictability,
angry that all of this hoopla and utterly deranged dogwhistling became the culture war's hot topic of the month, and Indigenous Australians were subjected to the indignity of a national public debate over whether or not we should say we're thinking about bullying them less,
[Like, "sorry mate, we held a public vote, AND you voted too don't forget! You had your fair say just like the rest of us did! You can't get rid of democracy just because you don't like that you didn't win. Now stop struggling and let the four of us flush your head down the toilet or we'll break your nose first, nerd" (🤮)]
angry that this whole bullshit fucking referendum was lose-lose with extra lose on the side,
angry that I have to attempt to explain the nuances of this lose-lose with extra lose to my child—which I'm thankfully inept at doing so before she loses interest, and so her innocent perception of the world is maintained for the time being—those nuances being:
if YES:
We get constitutional embodiment of "The Voice", an ineffable body as politically significant as the winner of Australian Idol, thanks to coming with so many point-of-failure loopholes that literally what the fuck is even the fucking point of doing this; this is so embarrassingly incompetent, are you for real this stupid at your job that you submitted the first draft minimal effort as your final essay, or can we all just reasonably assume this is merely some bit of insincere virtue-signalling chicanery?
(big "it took me an hour to write those two pages of dialogue, so I thought it would take you an hour to read them!" energy. Funny when Matt Groening does it, but much less so when it's from your so called nation's so called leaders. 😒)
if NO:
(1) holy fucking shit, we can't even collectively bring ourselves to go through the motions of beginning to unfuck our relationship with Indigenous Australians! I have so many negative feelings about that, but right this sec it's mostly shame. If the world was a kindergarten classroom, Australia is the child eating glue.
(2) relief that such a malformed stillbirth of a proposal didn't come into being; with additional relief that its existence now can't be used to justify future heel-dragging.
(3) visceral disgust at knowing there will be many cookers and other assorted far-right degenerates out there being overjoyed with celebration that this mere feint of national movement towards progressivism was shot down
(4) existential horror and Cassandran anguish over knowing that this failure WILL be used to block and forestall progress on all relevant progressivist movements. Like, losing a referendum is the death knell of a movement. Pattern clearly observable throughout history. Recently in New Zealand's attempt at cannabis reform, then further back with Australia's attempts to become a republic, and so on and so forth.
(5) frustration that how could the people doing this not foresee this extremely detrimental outcome and how obviously they were setting themselves up for this failure?? How are our leaders such incompetent and/or conniving bastards?!
(6) irritated frustration that fascism-would-be-good-actually's garbage rhetoric for garbage brains, and the far-right grifters peddling it, have had their whitewashing attempts legitimised and gotten the Overton window ratcheted one step further to the right
with extra lose:
👎🏻 aforementioned indignity of a national public debate over whether or not we should say we're thinking about bullying the Indigenous less
👎🏻 we had to sincerely engage with the incoherent codswallop put forth by the cockwombles of the 'reactionary NO' campaign and their delusional insistence that we "can't make such a divisive change to the constitution" as if the constitution wasn't inherently divisive in every sense of the word since before the ink had even dried on the page, given that it was predicted upon Terra Nullis?
Like, what the entire fuck could be more divisive than "we declare that our country is allowed to exist because we declare that you don't exist! Finders keepers, bitches!!"??
👎🏻 having to wade through the army of well-intentioned muppets volunteering at every polling location to hand out "How To Vote" pamphlets as if filling in this referendum's single yes/no question were anywhere near as complicated as the one-metre-wide ballots for the big state/federal elections
********
Just yuck feelings all around. There was no possibility of a good outcome, and this wasn't the least-bad outcome.

SYDNEY, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Australia on Saturday decisively rejected a proposal to recognise Indigenous people in the constitution, in a major setback to the country's efforts for reconciliation with its First Peoples.
Australians had to vote "Yes" or "No" in the referendum, the first in almost a quarter of a century, on the question of whether to alter the constitution to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people through the creation of an Indigenous advisory body, the "Voice to Parliament".
Nationwide, with almost 70% of the vote counted, the "No" vote led "Yes" 60% to 40%. Australian broadcaster ABC and other TV networks have projected that a majority of voters in all six of Australia's states would vote against altering the 122-year-old constitution.
A successful referendum requires at least four of the six to vote in favour, along with a national majority.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese acknowledged it was not the outcome he had hoped for but said the country would have to seek a new way forward for reconciliation.
"Our nation's road to reconciliation has often been hard going," Albanese said in a televised news conference.
"Tonight is not the end of the road and is certainly not the end of our efforts to bring people together."
Academics and human rights advocates fear the win by the "No" camp could set back reconciliation efforts by years.
The Voice to Parliament was proposed in the Uluru Statement from the Heart, a 2017 document crafted by Indigenous leaders that set out a roadmap for reconciliation with wider Australia.
Australia's Indigenous citizens, who make up 3.8% of the country's 26 million population, have inhabited the land for about 60,000 years but are not mentioned in the constitution and are, by most socio-economic measures, the most disadvantaged people in the country.
Supporters of the proposal believed entrenching an Indigenous Voice into the constitution would unite Australia and usher in a new era with its Indigenous people.
Many Indigenous people favoured the change, but some said it was a distraction from achieving practical and positive outcomes.
The political opposition has criticised the measure, saying it is divisive, would be ineffective, and would slow government decision-making.
"I'm devastated," Indigenous leader and prominent "Yes" campaigner Thomas Mayo said on ABC News.
"We need a Voice. We need that structural change."
SETBACK FOR ALBANESE
Referendums are difficult to pass in Australia, with only eight of 44 succeeding since the country's founding in 1901. This is the first referendum in Australia since voters rejected a proposal to become a republic almost a quarter of a century ago.
In 1967, a referendum to count Indigenous people as part of the Australian population was a resounding success with bipartisan political support.
This year's referendum, however, has not garnered unified support, with leaders of the major conservative parties campaigning for a "No" vote.
No referendum has passed in Australia without bipartisan backing.
The Voice has been a key feature of Prime Minister Albanese's term in office, and a referendum loss would stand out, political analysts say, as his biggest setback since coming to power in May last year.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton criticised Albanese for holding a referendum "that Australia did not need to have".
"The proposal and the process should have been designed to unite Australians, not to divide us," he told a news conference after the result was known on Saturday.
A misinformation campaign that spread through social media also sparked fear that the Voice - a purely advisory body - would become a third chamber of parliament, resulting in more federal aid to Aboriginal people, and more disputes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
Albanese also criticised some sections of the media that he said had steered the referendum debate away from the core issues.
"We have had, including in outlets represented in this room, discussions about a range of things that were nothing to do with what was on the ballot paper tonight," Albanese said.

hey did u see that article where labor said they want to consider aus becoming a republic if they get re-elected next term? thought it was pretty interesting and defs good timing— let's be honest the queen isn't gonna live much longer so they probs want to take advantage of that and the transition happen that way. do u have any thoughts?
this feels like such a strange question to receive, so, honestly? spicy take? i think it's pretty much irrelevant to anything material or real about australian politics. rant incoming!
like yeah sure, it's archaic to have the british monarchy as our head of state, but it has no real on the ground effect, and becoming a republic or not is basically just symbolic. "oh but the queen could dissolve parliament and replace the PM if she want--" yeah, and becoming a republic won't stop the UK and/or the USA from changing the direction of aus politics either overtly or covertly. if our superpower patrons don't like what our government decides to do, it'd be far more easier for the CIA to quietly remove the PM than get king charles to do it... they've done it before, ~~allegedly~~~, and imho, i don't think it's too crazy to think there were foreign government hands in play at the removals of rudd and turnbull, not just newscorp... sure it sounds tinfoil hat. but like. when has the USA (and to a lesser degree the UK) not meddled in international politics to sure up their own positions? we're their western country in the pacific, being a republic won't change that; gotta have a staging ground for the upcoming war.
i think a far more radical stance that should be put on the table is admitting that australia, as a nation (in the wesphalian sense), is the ongoing perpetuation of 200+ years of colonisation born from genocide, and every australian government and PM had directly inherited its power from that bloodshed.... and then asking how we, not as a "nation", but as a group of people living on a shared land, want to go forward with that, and what we might actually want a fresh system of governance to look like.
it's obfuscated by the changing of party hands and pretending like each new government is a new entity instead of just the ruling classes changing the team colours and top guy; but however you slice it, each PM has been handed power by the previous one, who was handed it by the previous one, right back through the white australia policy and boundary streets and "fauna" and terra nullius.
obviously not a position any extant aussie government is going to put forward, admitting that the concept of "the australian government" is a direct lineage of violent occupation.... much easier to pretend whether or not we should be a republic is an actual meaningful question that might affect the lives of people that live on this land, traditional owners and immigrants/colonists alike.
it's why john howard let us have a referendum on it, ask the people "should the queen be in charge, or an australian president?", frame it as a bold question at the very brink of what's possible, so that questions like "should we continue to let colonist power be in charge, or maybe rectify mistakes of the past instead?" seem far beyond the brink of what can be imagined.
albanese must know the incredible civil unrest and polarised divisiveness and revolutionary zeal (both left and right) that is bubbling up in the country.... best to give the plebs a release valve, the illusion of control, the facade of democracy. "we'll let the people decide the future of the country", while structurally changing nothing that could threaten the system that brought him power.
labor is a centrist party, and we shouldn't confuse our relief at throwing the far right coalition in the bin for hope that labor will bring meaningful change. they can't do anything meaningfully different, or they wouldn't be allowed to run the country; and whether or not the monarchy is officially in charge doesn't matter to the men (both within our borders and within foreign governments) that make the real decisions about what a government is and isn't allowed to do.
that said, the brits should definitely overthrow the monarchy and reclaim all their land and assets for the people, that'd probably be real neat for them; and i feel like just the phrase "king charles" is incentive enough for many.

Russia is developing a new advanced aircraft carrier project

Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has a project for an advanced aircraft carrier in progress, while transmitting its own position to the command of the Russian Navy, USC CEO Alexey Rakhmanov said in an interview published on the corporation's website.
Meanwhile, the CEO pointed out that the corporation has its own opinion on "what is a future aircraft carrier, how it should be built and with what technological specifications.
Tumblr media
The Tass news agency reported that Rakhmanov also confirmed that the heavy aircraft cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov will be commissioned in 2024. According to the CEO, this specific request involves more than 2,000 people.
"This is a question for the Navy - whether or not an aircraft carrier should be built and what kind of aircraft carrier. This discussion comes from the time I worked at the company for 8 years. We are proactive in design and regularly transmit our position to the Navy. We have to know, and know precisely, what our enemy thinks and what he does. The repairs did not stop even for a single minute of the cruiser's time on the pier," said Alexey Rakhmanov.
Tumblr media
Admiral Kuznetsov is an aircraft carrier (cruiser of heavy aircraft in the Russian classification) serving as the flagship of the Russian Navy. It was built by the Black Sea Shipyard, the only manufacturer of Soviet aircraft carriers, in Nikolayev, in the then Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine (SSR) and launched in 1985, becoming fully operational in the Russian Navy in 1995. It was originally commissioned in the Soviet Marine Union, and was designed to be the leading ship of the Admiral Kuznetsov class of two ships. The second hull was eventually sold by Ukraine to China, modified in Dalian and commissioned as Liaoning.
In June 2021, Vladimir Korolev, vice president of United Shipbuilding Corporation, announced that the review and update of Admiral Kuznetsov should be completed by the first half of 2023.
Tumblr media
Admiral Kuznetsov continues to be revised and modernized.
The avionics, flight deck with ski jump, electrical equipment and the engine is expected to be replaced as part of this Kuznetsov upgrade process. The aircraft carrier would also receive a new all-national takeoff and landing control system, with the air power on board remaining the same.

“In 1990, Federal Politician Kim Beasley made a statement in response to Senator Button’s question in the Australian Federal Parliament about whether there should be a republic. His reply was: Kim Beasley Quote: “The United Nations has given the Federal Government a mandate of ownership for housing, farms, property and business to government control once the REPUBLIC has been proclaimed.” (Susan Burdock.) The comment by Kim Beasley in parliament back in 1990 should be ringing alarm bells. The United Nations is the NWO in waiting for a one world government. The current push by the Labor Party for the ‘Voice’ referendum is the single most important part of their plan, which is to include the ‘ORIGINAL’ Men, Women and children of this Country (Indigenous people) into the Commonwealth Constitution because, at the moment they have ‘NO CONTRACT’ with the ‘ORIGINAL’ Men, Women and children of this Country. Because there is ‘No Contract’ with the Indigenous people of Australia, a republic would not be achieved because the ‘ORIGINAL’ Men, Women and children of this country are the lawful land owners and the government would be unable to take control over ownership of housing, farms, property and business. THUS thwarting its secretive push for a totalitarian republic where you would ‘own nothing and be happy’ (as proclaimed by Klaus Schwab and his World Economic Forum). This plan as you can see was already underway back in 1990. Every State in Australia has already sold off the Lands and Title Office, your original titles have been destroyed. The value of your property is in the TITLE. All properties certificate of title has been digitised and this is not a lawful proof of historical ownership. Say ‘NO’ to the Voice and say ‘NO’ to a totalitarian republic they have planned for us Australians.” Wise advice. There you have it and never forget that Obama THE LAWYER has been sized to head the United Nations, a global body who in 2022 went into a binding contractual agreement with the World Economic Forum, again I reiterate to push home the point the latter’s dictates on “you will own nothing and be happy.” Every citizen needs to pass Suzie’s email along before again we become illegally duped into signing off on hidden legislations that enables property seizures undertaken by our own government AND accomplished at ease by our own vote at our own hand. Not one of us who own property throughout Australia can afford to allow those the apathy sleeepers to comfort themselves with their mandate that ‘ignorance is bliss’, that blissful ignorance will bring us ALL down as subject to loosing the very homes we have worked towards our entire tax paying working lives! I reiterate, ALL our properties will become ripe for WEF stated confiscation, the properties of the awake and non awakes! Once properties go under government confiscation there will be no ‘referendum buyers remorse’, it will be far too late at that point for tears or regrets and will not bring about resolve. Do not allow the ignorance of others to have your properties confiscated, pass this on to warn many more on the basis where suspected referendum SSM vote fraud took place previously, make the numbers so significant even voter fraud will not carry sway. We need the numbers AWAKE!My entire street is still awaiting our SSM postal voting forms, could it be interested parties filled out our forms to better serve self interests and bring about self vested interest change? Be wise pass this on and or advise others. Susan Burdock.

Charles III is King of 15 countries. But for how much longer?
Across most Commonwealth realms - those countries in which he is monarch - the debate over whether to move to a republic is a live issue, albeit to varying degrees.
Here, BBC correspondents describe the mood in a selection of nations where King Charles is still head of state - and explore the chances of those countries replacing the monarchy any time soon.
St Kitts and Nevis
Spectators eyes are glued to the pitch at this cricket match. It's a clash between local rivals, as the women's teams from the islands of St Kitts and Nevis face off against each other. The UK's influence remains strong here, right down to the choice of national sport.
St Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. This was where English colonists first settled in the Caribbean. But even after almost 40 years of independence, there's an ongoing debate about this nation's identity, and whether it should transition to a republic.
In the spectator stands, low-level chatter is interrupted with cheers and words of advice shouted over to players. During a lull in the game I head over to ask people for their opinions.
Few are willing to express their views, but those that do are ambivalent.
Sharlene Martin says she wants more information but questions the benefit of having King Charles III as head of state: "The Chinese and Taiwanese look after us more than England, so I don't know."
Ahead of sunset, I head over to a local bar to chat with more locals. Manager Julian Morton says it's a matter of national pride: "Going republic says we have arrived. So it lets the rest of the world know that we can handle our own affairs."
Tumblr media
Julian Morton
Julian's friend Christopher Roberts agrees but tells me that St Kitts and Nevis is still trying to bounce back from the negative impact of coronavirus. So he doesn't see becoming a republic as a pressing priority: "We're just having discussions, street talk about it."
Compared to other Caribbean nations such as Barbados, Christopher sees St Kitts and Nevis as a "young independent nation", and so he thinks change could take a while.
Barbados, once nicknamed "little England" took the step in 2021, renewing momentum for other realms to follow.
But for the transition to happen here, the constitution of St Kitts and Nevis requires that the people vote for it in a referendum. In fact, of the remaining eight realms around the Caribbean, only Belize would not need a referendum. Instead, the decision would be made by its national assembly.
Tumblr media
The hurdles that referendums need to clear differ across countries. In St Lucia, the Bahamas, Jamaica and St Kitts and Nevis, referendums need a simple majority of voters to pass. But the transition could be more difficult to achieve in Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines, because two-thirds majorities are required.
But it's not always a done deal. In 2009, St Vincent and the Grenadines held a referendum. Forty-five per cent of voters chose to replace Queen Elizabeth II with a ceremonial president - falling far short of the two-thirds required.
So, though a seemingly simple question, these are detailed matters that each Caribbean realm is grappling with in its own way.
Australia
Walking the streets of Sydney, you would struggle to find any sign a new King of Australia is about to be crowned.
A week out, all bar one person I spoke to admitted they did not know when the Coronation was. One student even confessed he did not know what it was.
"I don't care, it's irrelevant," was 73-year-old Graham's frank assessment - a fairly accurate picture of the general mood here.
Landmarks across the country will be lit up purple on Saturday night, but events to mark the occasion appear to be subdued and scarce.
And special television coverage of the event is limited - a far cry from the wall-to-wall treatment that royal weddings and the Queen's funeral received.
King Charles isn't as popular as Queen Elizabeth II was and his Coronation comes at a time when Australia's republican movement has its strongest foothold in decades.
Almost 25 years since the country voted against cutting ties with the monarchy in a referendum, there's growing momentum for another go.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has previously said a republic is "inevitable" and last year appointed a junior minister for the republic - a historic first. In nearby New Zealand it is a similar story - Prime Minister Chris Hipkins this week said he's a republican and believes the country will "ideally" leave the monarchy one day.
The monarchy has a purely ceremonial role here in Australia and people tell me the country has long forged its own identity outside of the UK's shadow.
Others cite the lasting impact of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as a reason to cut ties.
"We're probably more anti-colonial than we have ever been," 17-year-old Estelle Paterson says.
"Having an English king here just seems so odd," her friend Monika Januleviciute adds.
Tumblr media
Monika (left) and Estelle
But any Republic of Australia is still years away, at least.
The government is first holding a referendum on recognising Indigenous people in the constitution.
And Australians are still divided on how to appoint a head of state - should they be elected by the people, or appointed by parliament?
But most importantly, recent polls indicate support for a republic is still below the high standard required to pass a referendum here. A majority of Australians would need to vote yes and there would also need to be majority support in at least four of Australia's six states.
Canada
By Jessica Murphy in Toronto
If there was one word to sum up the feelings many Canadians have about King Charles, it would be "indifferent".
And speaking broadly, while Canadians held an affection for Queen Elizabeth II, that same fondness is not felt for King Charles.
Opinion surveys suggest Canadians are growing more interested in distancing the country from the monarchy.
Tumblr media
The then-Duke and Duchess of Cornwall on a visit to Ottawa in 2022
The most recent, an Angus Reid poll released in late April, indicates that a majority of Canadians - just over half - don't want the country to continue as a constitutional monarchy for generations to come.
And two-in-five respondents said they didn't care about the coming Coronation.
That lack of enthusiasm is reflected in Canada's modest planned celebrations. There will be a televised hour-long event, hosted in the nation's capital of Ottawa and federal landmarks illuminated in emerald green to mark the occasion.
The King's ascent to the throne last year only served to spur debate on the country's ties to the monarchy.
That was especially true in Quebec, where the institution is viewed more negatively than in other regions - a sentiment tied to the province's history of being a French-speaking region once under British colonial rule.
Last December, Quebec passed a law making an oath of allegiance to the monarch optional for members of the legislature.
But none of that means that Canada will join the ranks of Barbados, Jamaica or Australia, who have had - or are having - a formal debate on the monarchy's future.
Changing the current system would need approval from both the House of Commons and the Senate in parliament, as well as the unanimous consent of all 10 provinces - seen by most political analysts as an impossible hurdle.

The process of getting Lithuanian citizenship
The most important thing you need to know to obtain Lithuanian citizenship is to have relatives who lived in Lithuania at a certain time. You have to study your Lithuanian genealogy. But if you have relatives in Lithuania who don’t meet certain criteria – you won't be able to apply. Our company can help you to find your ancestors. The process of obtaining a Lithuanian passport consists of several steps. The most important of them will be described below, which will help you not to get confused and find out your next steps.
Lithuanian genealogy. Did you have relatives of 1-3 generations in Lithuania and do you have evidence of this? Contact the De civitate group and we will do everything possible to get you the desired document. And if you have doubts about your genealogy then also write to us. We will study Lithuanian genealogy and say whether you can become one of the citizens of Lithuania or not.
Search for documents. This step involves searching for the Latvian citizenship certificate of your relatives. Our employees find the necessary documents quickly in the archives. Then we check them for authenticity.
Writing an application. Writing and filing an application may seem an easy task. But there are some nuances that you should be aware of. First of all, the application must be written in Lithuanian. If you don’t know the Lithuanian language and have problems with it, then we offer a translation service. The cost of this service is inexpensive. Secondly, there are different types of applications and forms. People over 18 years of age and children write them in different ways. Children always write applications together with their parents. But if you will have difficulties, don’t worry. Write to us and our lawyers will explain and also help you to write the application.
Submission of applications. Where can you file the papers? Usually, people submit documents to the Lithuanian consulate in their country of residence. And if a person lives in Lithuania he or she can contact the migration department or the police department. Pay attention that immigration officials may require additional documents if they feel the need. And after that, you must be patient and wait for all the papers to be checked and receive a long-awaited passport.
So, obtaining Lithuanian citizenship is a complex process. The most important thing you should do is study Lithuanian genealogy. Having found relatives who meet the necessary criteria, you can apply to become a citizen of the great state - of Lithuania.

This is my proposed system of government to replace the Westminster System of Government which I'm calling the, "Caizoh System of Government."
A simple way to describe this system is that it is far more democratic than any system in existence and places the burden of power over the government on every individual's shoulders like never before.
Any nation that considers itself democratic can adopt this system and its core principles. As I live in Australia which is yet to become a republic, it's only logical that this system, if successful, will start in Australia and then influence other nation's with its positive outcomes for present and future generations.
The first big upgrade is that this system has no office where a single person will be in charge. That is, there is no President, Prime Minister, High Chancellor or other supreme position of government authority for one person.
Instead, this system's Legislative branch is comprised of eight core federal departments and eight core state departments with total democratic power vested in the people to make adjustments to this structure should they see it prudent.
For the eight federal core departments, each state elects one representative to one of the following cores:
Education
Spirituality
Energy
Finance
Environment
Infrastructure
Justice
Defence
I understand that the Spirituality core is controversial, however, I deem it necessary and stand by that. While religion is an uncomfortable subject for people, the cannot deny its influence over government. With this system, all individuals who would like to implement a law or an amendment to a law from the position of representing a religion or their own personal spirit, they will have to do so in a much more transparent and publicly palatable way.
It's at this time I should mention all of the democratic powers this system gives "The People" so that they will be the checks and balances on anything the government is doing:
The power to form and dissolve each branch of government. [An election "forms" a government where the Legislature is responsible for the appointments in the other branches, but this system allows for elections in all branches comfortably. The power to dissolve the legislature is currently a reserved power for governor general's in the Westminster System which can be democratically appointed to The People.]
The power to form and dissolve legislation. [Launch a vote for something straight from your phone. Australia Post already proved blockchain voting can work. Like anything, just needs people to invest in it. Dont like a law? Start a vote to dissolve it. The elected representatives discuss and get final say on whether a law from the people gets passed or dissolved. It might need rewording so it doesn't impact another law or maybe the removal of said law will ruin a good public service. If the people sense a law has been passed or not dissolved in a corrupt fashion, see power one.]
The power to form and dissolve government departments. [This includes core departments. The objective of this system is to ween society off the dependency of government systems in a very prolonged and deliberate manner with the objective understanding that the people would dissolve government departments or laws, etc when by and large society becomes more self sufficient as individuals.]
These powers would require specific wording and I'm conscious of trying to keep things basic so details and specificity can be added in.
In regards to the Core Department of Spirituality, I believe it necessary to address all of those issues as fast and directly as possible. LGBT issues, abortion issues, euthanasia issues, sex work issues and more frequently become political footballs so this is a fantastic way to catalogue which laws in society are democratically acceptable regardless of the religious background the view might be from. For example, regarding abortion; while I support a woman's right to have an abortion for pretty much anything, I am conscious of the fact that even the doctor's themselves may have an issue with being forced to perform an abortion on a perfectly healthy fetus at 8 months because the mother changed her mind. Specificity in laws is where such grey areas can cause major issues. The Core Department of Justice will largely champion most issues around those grey areas with people competing to be elected to put their ideas to work that improve individual rights and freedoms continually.
In regards to the State Legislative assembly, each state elects a minimum of two metropolitan representatives and two regional representatives to each core department. Big states and big departments may have 5, 6 or 10 representatives per core, but there must always be an equal number of metropolitan and regional representatives in the legislative assembly regardless of how many people live in the big cities versus rural areas.
The state cores are:
Health
Farming
Environment
Infrastructure
Finance
Justice
Emergency Services
Waste Management
The arrangement of federal and state cores has been arranged to achieve a specific balance. This balance will be adjusted in the future at the discretion of The People, but it will start in the fashion above.
When having elections for the federal cores, each state elects one representative to a defined core. For example, you'll find a lot of former military people raising their hands to be candidates to be Ministers of the Department of Defence. A lot of teachers will want to be looking after the Department of Education. And they won't ever need to join any political parties or other organisations to do it.
So, in Australia, with 8 states electing one person to each core, you'd have 64 Ministers in the Legislature proposing new laws and dissolving old ones. If someone from the department of education or spirituality want to propose a law, it must get democratically passed by 33 of the 64 Ministers. If the law passes and the people don't like it, they can dissolve it. Laws passed could have minimum 12 month terms if passed so people can actually see them in action first in certain cases.
In the United States, that's 400 Ministers over 50 states (is it 50? Or more now?). In both cases, that's a smaller Legislature with far more specific formation and function.
Elections would be held every 5 years. The People have the power to change this whenever they want. Five years is a good starting point because it allows those first elected some time to find their feet and enact policies/procedures/plans properly. The People will likely be pre-occupied forming and dissolving their laws and government departments, giving representatives the opportunity to enact those things effectively. This is a new system and if it becomes the structure of the government, there's bound to be apprehension, fears of change and other arguments to get through along with everything surrounding legislation itself.
There will be a separate election to elect a "Chief Minister" for each core department, at the state and federal level. Ministers will hold public sessions together to discuss issues and report to The People via the media as core departments at regular scheduled times. As ministers will need to table individual judgements with their decisions similar to that of a Court Justice, media representatives and The People will be able to ask their elected ministers whatever needs to be asked in order to solve whatever needs to be solved. People looking to be elected to the Department of Education are likely going to have a lot of experience working in that field - and the same will be true for every department - which means that there will be a lot more productive discussions that result in problems being solved if those elected are regularly fronting up to the media to comb through the what's, how's and why's of the week's politicking/representing. Chief Minister's responsibilities would not be much greater than a regular Minister, except having to chair those media/public discussions/hearings. The exact wording in the constitution would need to be specific so as to avoid some kind of 'Supreme Chancellor Palpetine' scenario, which is where legal expertise will come in.
Yes, it's imperative to consider worst case scenarios - war, plague, natural disaster destroying Infrastructure, etc - and each core department will have their responsibilities shift in such scenarios. Structurally it's important to remember that the current Westminster System does not mention the Prime Minister in its Constitution as an office with any extra powers in the same way the US President has certain powers defined in theirs. This means that while The People believe their system now has a Prime Minister who is "in charge", in actuality as a legal function, that belief is fictional. So what I'm proposing isn't actually unfamiliar to how the Australian people expect a democratic government to function in reality. It's simply filtering all the arguments through the internet securely, which Australia Post has proven is possible.
I'm also proposing any new constitution with The Caizoh System include a virtual power plant that manages The People's currency. I've designed an "alternating currency" which is based on renewable energy production that is backed by local commodities and the local manufacturing of renewable energy technology which should see the economics of "tackling climate change" taken care of for the next two centuries or so.
The Bible says "Seek and Ye Shall Find." Wonder how many people will find this, eh, God?
Here's an actual draft of how the Constitution could look, bearing in mind it'll need to be tidied up by one or more legally astute minds..
The Caizoh System of Government
"The People as Head of State"
The People of X, declaring themselves and their nation independent and sovereign, ascend this Constitution into law.
The People of X are a democratic people and it is the intent of this Constitution to empower The People as they employ the functions of democracy to whatever ends they action.
This Constitution outlines The People's Government and its functions. Through these functions, The People have the power to democratically adjust or reform any part of The Government, which is comprised of four branches;
1) The Legislature: Responsible for the forming and dissolution of legislation.
2) The Executive: Responsible for enforcing legislature as it is ascended into law.
3) The Judiciary: Responsible for interpreting legislation as it is enforced by The Executive to determine guilt or innocence in cases before The Court and to determine damages whether they be monetary, community service, military service, incarceration, corporal, or otherwise, with the goals of rehabilitation and common good balanced within each case before The Court.
4) The Media: Responsible for the communication of information which may impact or influence the formation and/or dissolution of legislation, government departments, The Government's functions and its branches as well as The Government and this Constitution as a whole.
The People are to receive a general income of $60,000 per year to fund all necessities relating to food, water, shelter and clothing. The amount is to be adjusted in line with the performance of the economy and the will of The People.
The People's bank shall be a Virtual Power Plant which will manage an economy based on renewable energy production, backed by the nation's resources, will and ability to manufacture technology which generates and stores renewable energy.
THE LEGISLATURE
The Legislature shall be made of State bodies and one Federal body. These bodies shall be composed of eight Core Departments;
Federal Core Departments
1. Spirituality
2. Education
3. Infrastructure
4. Finance
5. Energy
6. Environment
7. Justice
8. Defence
State Core Departments
1. Health
2. Farming
3. Infrastructure
4. Finance
5. Waste Management
6. Environment
7. Justice
8. Emergency Services
The Federal Core Departments shall consist of one Minister elected to one nominated Core Department from each State as well as one Deputy who will be the runner up in that general election.
The State Core Departments shall consist of a minimum of two Metropolitan Ministers and two Regional Ministers with the upper limit to be determined democratically. The number of Regional Ministers and Metropolitan Ministers in each Core Department must always be equal.
Each Core Department will have a Chief Minister determined by a separate election who shall have additional responsibilities and no more power than would otherwise be nominated to them democratically by The People.
THE EXECUTIVE
The Federal body of the Executive Branch is chiefly made up of the Army, Navy & Airforce, making one body to be called The National Defence Force.
The State bodies of the Executive Branch is chiefly made up of each State's Police Force and Emergency Services.
Where other offices or departments are required or made, it shall be up to the determination of consultation between that part of the Executive Branch, the Legislature, and The People who shall have veto power democratically appointed to them in regards to any decision made by the Executive or its offices, departments or appointees.
The Legislature shall appoint individuals to positions within the Executive for a period of not more than ten years from which point The People shall decide which of the Executive roles they want to be filled via election.
The People shall have the power to democratically form or dissolve Executive Offices and Departments.
THE JUDICIARY
The Judiciary is made up of The Nation's Courts and its officers. The Federal body and State bodies shall have their own Courts as The People shall have democratic authority to elect its Judges, Justices and Magistrates for the Federal Courts and the State Courts of the State in which they have declared as their primary residence.
The People shall have the power to form and dissolve Courts as needed.
THE MEDIA
The People are The Nation's media, responsible for the transfer of all information. This Constitution is a form of media, designed to bind one another to these founding democratic principles with the expectation that all good and bad decisions shall be made together.
The Internet is the primary means of communication in the contractual written word as the quill and parchment were the primary means of communication when former democracies were founded, allowing The People to communicate far faster and more broadly than possibly imagined a century ago.
The People shall have a secure and anonymous means of voting in elections and communicating with each other via the Internet in order to discuss all issues and matters relating to The Government at any level. If such a means of communication cannot be guaranteed, audited and verified constantly, this Constitution is to be dissolved and The People are to return to paper ballots, if democracy is still desired.
Every individual of voting age shall not be compelled to vote. In the event that voter participation drops below two thirds for any National or State Election, or any National or State Referendum, this Constitution is to be dissolved, Martial Law declared and a new Constitution is to be formed.
This Constitution is to be dissolved in fifty years from the time it is ascended with the expectation that The People, within a generation, shall be able to form a better Constitution that is even more democratic than this one.
--++
Something like that...
It basically goes back on itself in a very obvious, and self destructive fashion. It's a carton of milk with a use-by date. Drink up.

Pelosi Ends Visit to Taiwan
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnis.com), Aug. 3, 2022.--House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) finished her visit to Taiwan against China’s objections, heads to other Asian capitals before returning to Washington to a hero’s welcome.  Washington, on both sides of the aisle, applaud Pelosi’s visit against a backdrop of Beijing’s threats, all because China has its sights of Taiwan.  China knows that the U.S. has supported Taiwan since the days when Chiang Kai-Shek led a band of nationalists out of Communist China during the throes of the 1949 Maoist Revolution.  China, before Mao’s Marxist-Leninist Revolution, was a capitalist society that didn’t always work for the vast majority of Chinese living in hunger and squalor for centuries, no matter what the dynasty.  Mao promised to transpose Marxist –Leniniism to China, where the vast majority of peasants believed his utopia of a better life for rank-and-file Chinese citizens.
Taiwan has population of over 23.57 million, all with a shared ideology of free market capitalism, opposed to Communist rule.  Since the Maoist Revolution, led by Chairman Mao Zedong, no premier of China called for the takeover of Taiwan.  Taiwan developed independently of Mainland China, largely with the help of the U.S., eventually becoming one of the most prosperous economies in Asia.  Taiwan’s biggest corporation by far is Taiwan Semiconductor [TSMC], founded in 1987, has a market cap of $436.67 billion, with annual revenue of $352.4 billion, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world.  Led by 68-year-old CEO Mark Liu, TSMC is the world’s largest supplier chips including, Apple Computer, General Motors , Qualcomm, Broadcom, to name a few.  Liu s aid yesterday that at Chinese takeover of Taiwan would disrupt 55% of the world’s chip supply.
Pelosi visited TSMC CEO Mark Liu in her two-day stay in Taiwan, leaving some to wonder whether she and her husband Paul own stock in Taiwan Semiconductor.  Whether she does or not, it pretty clear to financial markets that TSMC is a major supplier of chips for U.S. and foreign corporations.  “Our interruption will create great economic turmoil on either side,” said Liu,” who succeeded TSMC’s founder Morris Chang in 2018,  “Suddenly their most advanced component supply disappeared,” said Liu, highlighting why a Beijing takeover of Taiwan can never occur.  Pelosi’s visit raised more questions about a Chinese invasion.  Watching the Ukraine War, Chinese President Xi Jinping watched while Russia has been alienated from the Western Alliance, leaving it in a costly war with Ukraine, while, at the same time, dealing with extreme financial sanctions harming the Russian economy.
Xi complained about Pelosi’s visit because it violated the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act, signed into law by former President Jimmy Carter, guaranteeing China that the U.S. would only recognize Beijing, while, at the same time, ending the 1954 Sino-American Mutual Defensse Treaty.  China demanded in opening up formal diplomatic relations with the U.S. that Washington recognize only one China, the one in Beijing.  Yet since 1949, successive generations of U.S. presidents recognized the special independence of Taiwas, a democrat-run country.  Carter made a big mistake forcing the U.S. government to stop recognizing the Republic of China [ROC], the one in Taipei.  “Nobody in the business world wants to see a war happen,” said TSMC’s Liu.  “Why do we jump again in another trap?” Liu asked rhetorically, knowing that the only way forward is to assure that Taiwan survives as an independent country.
President Joe Biden should respond to Beijing’s threats of a Chinese invasion to assemble a mutual defense treaty for Taiwan that includes Japan, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. If Beijing understood that any attempt to invade Taiwan would trigger a mutual defense treaty, it would give up on threats to takeover the Island of Formosa.  U.S. War College quarterly, “Parameters” James McKinney and Peter Harris argued that the “strategic ambiguity” doctrine must be replaced by a firm commitment to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.  “This could be done most effectively by threatening to destroy facilities belong to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company,” McKinney and Harris wrote.  Instead of threatening to destroy TSMC in a Chinese invasion,  Biden should work to complete a new mutual defense treaty that protects the Island nation.
Issues related to a country’s wealth and prosperity have to take into consideration ongoing threats by Beijing to take over the Island nation.  Chinese President Xi Jinping and the entire Chinese Communist Party [CCP] are kidding themselves that an invasion of Taiwan is feasible. “People of Taiwan have earned their democratic system,” Liu said.  “They want to choose their way of life,” putting China on notice that they just can’t make idle threats without expecting a fight.  Whatever the history with Taiwan, Xi must recognize that it’s not a renegade part of Mainland China but an independent state built on free market capitalism, much like the U.S. and South Korea. If Biden wants to clarify today’s “strategic ambiguity,” he needs to set up a new mutual defense treaty that allows Taiwan the right to live in peace with its own system of government.  Unlike Hong Kong, Taiwan is its own independent nation.
