Hi! Not sure if you can answer this or if you could throw it open to your POC followers. I am wanting to run a fundraiser related to the BLM protests and would like to find a suitable cause to donate the funds too, I’ve had a look but am not sure which one to go for so was hoping for advice / suggestions? Thank you
What a great plan!
I think at this moment there are many many organisations and people doing important work and needing money, there’s dozens if not hundreds of great places that people could donate to.  In this environment, I think a good starting pointfor  anyone organising a fundraiser can be toask ‘Where do I most want to contribute to thismovement?’  Tamora Pierce’s fundraiser, that I just mentioned, is splitting its funds between the Black Visions Collective (a Minnesota political organising group whose work has been central to this uprising) and Black Table Arts (which is about supporting black artists).  I think it’s great that artists organising fundraisers think particularly about supporting black artists.
So what I’ll do is explain some of the places I’ve been donating to and why - and then talk about some of the things that might be a priority for you and where you might donate
As I’m in the UK, a really priority for me is to push back against the ‘it doesn’t happen here’ idea that circulates.  There’s a really amazing UK campaign for those who have died in custody in the UK - called the United Family and Friends Campaign.  They have an on-going fund that makes small payments to families who are fighting for justice for their loved ones and a current fundraiser for themselves as an organisation. Inquest also do great work supporting people who have been bereved after a family member dies in state care. (And if you want to know more I strongly recommend the movie Injustice).
I have also really prioritised bail funds and that’s because I’m a prison abolitionist who think decarceration is a victory.  Bail funds operate on a revolving capital basis.  They pay people’s bail and most of the money they get back. So any money you donate won’t just pay people’s bail right now, but for years.
Here’s some questions for you:
Is there something that has brought you great joy and hope? Is there a way that you can support people doing that? The statues falling was such a joy to watch, and I want to make sure that if anyone who is targetted by the police for felling ta statue they don’t bear the cost of that alone (I would wait until people are charged - because money can be messy).
Is there something that has made you particularly angry? Victoria Derbyshire saying that the UK don’t use rubber bullets made me even more keen to donate specifically to the fund for Belfast and Derry protesters.
What about intersections? Do you want to support black LGBTQI groups? Black Trans groups specifically? Black disability groups?
Do you like the idea of supporting individuals - making their lives better? (As well as the obvious family funds, there’s a fund for peace and healing for Darnella Frazier and the fund for Jessica Orta - also contains a bit of a warning about donating funds to individuals as part of her difficulty is that people have fundraised half a million dollars for her abusive husband).
Do you want to focus on people’s wellbeing? Black Minds Matter is a UK fund that pays for therapy for black people. The pandemic is still a problem and still disproportionately affecting black people - the Majonzi fund is a preexisting UK fund supporting family members of BAME people who died of COVID.
I know you’re in the UK, so I’ve included a real UK focus.  But you could go even more local.  It’s because people in Minnesota supported local organisations fighting for justice that their response has been so strong.  In the West Midlands, where I live is the Refugee and Migrant Centre, whose advocacy work played a key role in uncoverign the Windrush Scandal.  There’s an excellent radical history group in Bristol, which has laid a lot of the ground work for the statue that fell.  Is there an organisation local to you? If you support them now is that helping work in the years to come?
I believe politics is strongest if we start by fighting where we are.  In terms of donations that can mean many different things, geographically, in terms of your identity, in terms of issues that you already passionate about, in terms of things that people have done that inspire you.  There is no right answer.

I just wanted to anonymously say that I love your art. It’s amazing and I could honestly just admire it all day, but I did want toask if your had a Patreon or something that I could donate to to keep you doing your amazing work
Thank you, Anon! I really appreciate it.
I don’t have a Patreon and such currently since I don’t think it’s a good idea to set up those things when I’m being so inactive, heh.
Oh, my...it’s been so long since my last post hasn’t it.  So for anyone wondering where I have been, well, I didn’t actually go anywhere. Besides being busy with life, I’m still loving the show (and a little sad when I found out there’s yet another huge leak about future episodes today, heh.) and drawing from time to time.
Why I don’t post anything here anymore though, I’m not really sure. Maybe it’s some kind of art-block? I just feel like everything I sketched is not good enough to color/finish let alone to post. I’m still working on changing those thoughts and try to just have fun when drawing...it just takes me like forever ;w;
...Anyway, I do want to draw more cute ponies to share. Sorry it’s just a very rough doodle, have a Twi!
