Summary: How do the Karasuno boys react when their s/o decides to prank them by purposefully dodging their kisses?

♡ Shoyo Hinata ♡

- Shoyo’s very relaxed whenever you’re around, he’s just so content and happy whenever it comes to you that the thought of you pulling something like this would never even cross his mind, so it’s really easy to prank him and get a funny reaction from your adorably hyper boyfriend

- Oooooh Shoyo is not happy when you pull a prank like this, he loves his kisses, especially after a long day and he won’t appreciate you hiding away from them >:(

- It’s a habit in your relationship for you and Shoyo to meet up after your last class of the day, allowing you to walk him to practice after school and sometimes even stay to watch if you have nothing else going on that day, so you knew this would be the best time for you to try out this little prank >:)

- Of course you greet your boyfriend just like you typically would, wrapping him up in a warm hug before interlacing your fingers with his as he starts chatting with you about his day and the two of you make your way to the practice area so as not to arise any suspicion from him

- And of course Shoyo in none the wiser, excitedly swinging your connected hands back and forth between the two of you as he tells you about the awesome grade he got on his biology test and looks at you expectantly for your response

- “That’s great, Shoyo! I’m so proud of you, I told you that all the studying you did would pay off. I know it was exhausting trying to balance studying and practice, but I knew you could do it.” You smile as you praise your boyfriend, heart melting at the way he beams in response to your words

- But when he leans in for a kiss to celebrate his good grade, you know it’s time to put the prank into action, so you step to the side and watch in horror as your boyfriend faceplants directly onto the sidewalk in front of you, kissing the pavement as he scrambles to pull himself up

- “...What was that for?” Shoyo exclaims after a minute, frowning at you and pointing to where he had just fallen face-first for emphasis. His grumpy, pouty face was positively adorable, and it caused you to immediately lose your resolve as you started laughing and moved to hug your boyfriend in apology

- “I’m so sorry babe, I was just messing with you. Come here, let me make it up to you.” You laugh as you apologize to him, leaning in to kiss the pout off of his face as Shoyo wraps his arms around you tightly

- “I expect at least 10 more kisses from you as an apology for making me fall on my face and embarrass myself, you know.” He responds, and the wide grin on his face when you award him his promised kisses and then some causes your heart to bubble in admiration for the boy, smiling at him and promising to never pull a prank like this again as you finally resume walking him to practice

♡ Tobio Kageyama ♡

- This kind of prank honestly just confuses poor Tobio, he doesn’t really get that it’s a prank at it just leaves him confused, grumpy and needy for your affection :/

- He’s very easy to prank, but also so oblivious that you’d literally have to spell out that it was a prank in order for him to understand. So you know that you’re probably going to regret doing this to him, but you just have to satisfy your curiosity and see for certain how he’ll react

- So you decide to put your plan into action one day after practice, giggling in anticipation as your boyfriend swiftly makes his way from the court over to your side as he reaches out to grab his water bottle from your hand

- “Thank you, Y/n.” he says, gulping down the water before handing the bottle back to you, moving to grab your hand and squeeze it as his silent show of appreciation and affection for you

- “Of course, babe. You’re doing amazing today, always make me so proud.” You praise your boyfriend, watching his cheeks get dusted with a light pink hue as he smiles shyly at you. Usually Tobio wasn’t very big on PDA, but complimenting him after a game or practice was always the best way to get a kiss out of him, and you took advantage of that knowledge in order to put your prank into place

- “Why did you do that?” He asks simply, putting his hand up to smell his breath as he asks. “I think my breath smells fine… is it because I’m too sweaty? That’s never seemed to bother you before though…” Tobio searches for a reason to your sudden odd behavior, pouting as he waits for you to answer him

- And your adorable boyfriend fell right into your trap, leaning in and closing his eyes in hopes of pressing a quick peck to your cheek, only for his lips to meet nothing but air

- Confused, Tobio quickly pulled back to look at you questioningly, debating why you had avoided his kiss in his mind as he gazed intently at you

- “What do you mean, babe? I didn’t do anything!” You respond just to mess with him, biting back a smirk as his pout turns into a small scowl and he grows even more confused and frustrated

- As he continues to ask you why you’re doing this to him you decide to finally give in, giggling and leaning in to give your boyfriend his long-awaited peck as you fluster him with the sudden contact and leave him more confused than ever at your sudden switch-up

- “Yes you did, I tried to kiss you and you moved away!” He responds, wrapping his arms around you as he stares into your eyes, searching for an explanation. “...Did I make you mad or something? I don’t think I did anything to upset you, but if I did, I’m sorry and I didn’t mean it.”

- “I was just messing with you, Tobio. You looked so cute, all confused and pouty.” You respond as you press another kiss to your boyfriend’s nose, giggling again as he grumbles about how he’s not “cute” but still allows you to fawn over him because secretly, he really likes it <3

♡ Yu Nishinoya ♡

- Oh I just know that he would hate this prank the most out of all the boys, Noya thrives off of your kisses and it is downright cruel in his eyes to deprive him of them :’(

- His feelings are hurt, his day is ruined, it's the whole 9 yards of dramatics with this man when you pull a prank like this on him lol so make sure you know what you’re getting into when you decide to do this

- You decide to pull this prank in the privacy of your own home after school while helping Noya study, since you know that if you did this in front of anyone else, he’d only get more upset. At least when it’s just the two of you, you’re the only one who will have to witness his whining, so you opt for privacy when pulling this prank on your incredibly needy boyfriend

- It works and it gets your boyfriend motivated enough to actually try when studying, though, so you’ll take it!

- You see, the two of you have developed a system when it comes to studying, because it can be… difficult to get Noya motivated to actually sit down and study

- So when you both have time, you review questions with him, and reward each correct answer with a kiss like the cheesy couple you are

- Unfortunately, though, you have to momentarily throw a wrench into this system in order to follow through with this prank

- So when you nod approvingly at your boyfriend’s correct answer to the last question you asked him and you see the bright grin spread across his face as his arms immediately reach out for you, you steel yourself and force your head to turn away from his eager kiss

- And of course, Noya immediately freezes when his lips meet your cheek rather than your lips like he was expecting, taking a moment to process before pulling back, frowning and giving you the most wounded look you’ve ever seen from your typically bright, energetic boyfriend

- “Baaaabe, why would you do that to me?!” He immediately starts whining, arms wrapping around you as he buries his face in your chest with his lips still stuck in a pout

- “Oh my god you big baby, you’re so dramatic.” You tease him for just a moment longer before you’re willing to give in, a mischievous smirk across your face as you playfully try to push him away, only for his grip to tighten and cause giggles to erupt out of your throat

- “Why don’t you love me anymore? Why are you ignoring my affection when I studied so hard for you? I earned that kiss, baby!” He whines even louder now, arms digging into your sides to tickle you and forcing allowing you to finally cave

- “Noya, stop! Fine, I’ll give you what you want so badly.” You manage to break free of his tickles long enough to press a chaste kiss to your boyfriend’s lips, smile growing wider when he leans in once more to reclaim your lips with his own as his way of making up for your earlier lack of kisses >:)

♡ Asahi Azumane ♡

- Genuinely why would you ever do this to him :( Asahi’s such a sweet boy and he loves your kisses so much, this is so cruel!

- Okay in all honesty, it would probably be incredibly easy to do a prank like this on Asahi, he’s very unguarded when it comes to you, so he’ll never see it coming and his constant kisses leave you with a plethora of opportunities to pull a prank like this

- And because he’s so sweet and sensitive and would never suspect this from you, you know his reaction will be golden, and it’s an innocent enough prank that you’re willing to go through with it just to see his reaction

- You decided to pull this on him right after a long day of practice, since you know that’s the time where he’s the most needy for your kisses, praise and affection

- You, being the wonderful s/o that you are, meet your boyfriend for the last 30 minutes or so of his practice, proudly cheering him on from the sidelines and bragging to the few people not playing at the moment about how proud you are of your amazing boyfriend

- And once practice ends, you can see a red tint on his face as he smiles gratefully at you, hastily making his way to you with his arms wide open in a hug that you know will be accompanied by a chaste peck, just a small kiss so that he wouldn’t get teased too badly over showing PDA in front of his team mates

- But poor, poor Asahi was left incredibly confused when you turned your face away from his kiss, instead opting to turn so his lips landed right on the side of your head

- You hear Suga and Daichi immediately burst into laughter upon seeing your denial of your boyfriend’s affections, already feeling guilty over the teasing he would inevitably endure over this but forcing yourself to follow through with the prank for a little longer despite the pouty look worn across your adorable boyfriend’s face

- “...You’re kinda sweaty babe, sorry.” You tried to force a grimace to add to the prank, but the way Daichi and Suga absolutely fell apart at your comment convinced you that it was already time to give this up and put your poor boyfriend’s mind at ease as he looked down in shame at your words

- Poor Asahi's face was absolutely flushed with red upon hearing what you had said and the laughs of his team mates, though, mouth falling open as he floundered to find any words to apologize in that moment

- Before he could let out the embarrassed apology that was on the tip of his lips/ hiwever/ you reached out to cradle his large frame in your arms, reassuring him that you were just pranking him loud enough that his teammates would hear as you pressed kisses across his face to apologize for your actions

- Your PDA only made him blush more, and his teammates would never let him forget this moment, but his pout immediately disappeared and was replaced with a shy smile as he muttered an “It’s okay, angel” and hugged you back tightly, just happy to be able to kiss you again <3

♡ Koshi Sugawara ♡

- I can definitely see Suga being just a bit of a little shit to you when you pull stuff like this, in all honesty

- 99% of the time, Koshi's your adorable, incredibly sweet and loving boyfriend who would never dream of messing with you or being upset with you

- But that 1% of the time, when he’s in a particular mood and you try to pull a prank like this on him?

- Oh, he’d definitely mess with you just a bit in return to get you back >:)

- You and Koshi decided to have a cute little date night at his house, as you both have the weekend to relax and spend time together :)

- And whenever you two have date nights, one of your favorite activities to do together is cooking dinner with each other, taste testing each part of your chosen dish and working together to create a meal you’ll both enjoy

- Tonight the two of you are cooking your favorite meal, as Suga wanted to celebrate the high score you got on your recent math test and reward you for all your hard work like the wonderful, caring boyfriend he is :>

- And of course you, the sneaky little menace you are, have to repay your boyfriend’s kindness with a prank, just to mess with him a little

- So when Suga gently prods at your lips with a spoon, silently asking you to taste test a part of the dish, you immediately know what he’s up to, putting the spoon in your mouth and nodding encouragingly at him to show him that it tasted good as you wait for him to follow his predictable pattern he always fell into in moments like these

- And he does, smiling back at you before immediately leaning in to replace the spoon with his lips and capture your mouth in a sweet kiss

- Except this time you lean away from his kiss, giggling as his kiss lands on your chin and he pulls back, frowning at you

- And, while Suga immediately knew this was a prank, he was also quite the actor when he wanted to be, so he decided to get you back a little bit after he kindly made your favorite meal with you and you chose to rekay him with a prank and withholding your affections

- “Sweetie, it was just a prank, I’m so sorry.” You apologize immediately, holding your boyfriend tighter out of guilt. “Of course I still love you, I didn’t mean it. It was just a dumb prank.” You promise, only to be caught off guard when you suddenly hear your boyfriend giggling with his head tucked into your chest, giving you a shit-eating grin and making it clear that he had actually gotten you

- Suga gave you the most genuine pout you had ever seen, eyes welling up with crocodile tears and causing the smile to immediately fall off of your face as he backed away from you, feigning hurt and heartbreak

' “Babe… do you… do you not love me any more? Why would you… why would you avoid my kiss?” He asks, so quietly that it seems like his heart is breaking and you immediately scoop your boyfriend up in your arms to reassure him with a gentle hug and kisses pressed all over his face

- So yeah, it’s probably best not to mess with your endearing, doting boyfriend, because he can and will switch up entirely and find a way to get you back for trying to mess with him like this >:)

♡ Daichi Sawamura ♡

- Honestly, I feel like Daichi will be able to tell that you’re up to something before you even pull this prank, and while he’s not gonna be as dramatic about it as some of the others, he’s still not gonna be happy about it and he’s gonna make sure you know that lol

- I can see him approaching this kinda similarly to Suga, but he wants to give you a taste of your own medicine so he’ll be a bit more direct with his actions

- Daichi was always kind enough to walk you home whenever you stayed after school to watch him practice and support him, he insisted that he had to make sure his wonderful partner always made it home safe and he always kept your hand tightly clasped in his as you walked home together and chatted about whatever came to mind

- Today, though, your typically peaceful, relaxing walk with your boyfriend was going to take a mischievous turn, a sneaky grin plastered across your face as you began your prank

- Daichi, ever the observant and attentive boyfriend, had unfortunately already noticed something was up with you, though. He saw the way you were nervously fidgeting with your hands as you walked, and the way you sported the grin he only ever saw when you were up to something, but he decided to feign ignorance for now just to see what you would do

- “Honestly, I’m feeling really good about tomorrow’s game. We’ve been working really hard recently, and I think we have it in the bag.” Daichi wrapped up what he had been saying, looking over and smiling at you as he wrapped an arm swiftly around your shoulders and waited to hear your thoughts on their chances in tomorrow’s game

- “Of course you guys do, babe. I can’t wait to watch you absolutely crush them tomorrow, I don’t doubt you guys at all.” You reassured him, squeezing your boyfriend’s hand and giggling as he leaned in to kiss you in response to your encouragement, immediately moving your head so his lips met nothing but air

- When Daichi realized what you had done, he paused for a moment, eyes opening slowly and glancing at you before giving you a sneaky smirk of his own and turning to walk away from you “Fine, be like that. I see my own girlfriend doesn’t love me anymore.”

- Your jaw immediately fell open at his words, frowning at how quickly he had turned your own prank back around on you and chasing after your boyfriend, attempting to press an apology kiss to his cheek and pouting when he moved his head away

- “Babe, don’t be like that!” You whined, wrapping your arms around him and forcing him to stop walking as you held his face in your hands. “It was a dumb prank, I’m sorry, now please let me kiss you to make up for it.”

- Daichi contemplated making you squirm for a bit longer, but eventually decided to give in this time, leaning in and letting you press a sweet kiss to his lips as he smiled contently

- His arms wrapped around your waist to kiss you back, smirking at how he always won in moment like these even when you tried to mess with him

#— BOKUTO KŌTARŌ

he talks in his sleep. it’s usually incoherent words or phrases you can’t make out most of the time. although one time you could make out a small ‘i love you’ from him and it made your heart melt. unconsciously grabs for you if you aren’t cuddling him when he’s sleep. and then quite literally bear hugs you. you stay in one position the entire night because you can’t move out of his grip sometimes.

#—IWAIZUMI HAJIME

sooooo attentive. especially attentive to things you’d think he wouldn’t care to remember. so if you rearranged something minor in your room? he’ll ask you about that. didn’t order your usual at a restaurant? he’s gonna question you. you find it very cute that he remembers such small details or literally pays so much attention to you. i also think he also does that thing where he has your restaurant order or your favorite things in the notes app of your contact. such a thoughtful man pls

#— ISSEI MATSUKAWA

he is a big fan of beyoncé like omg. so when he’s sure he’s all alone he’s definitely shirtless with some sweats on and is singing his life away to her songs in front of his mirror. hanamaki and oikawa caught him once singing to ‘kitty kat’ and got it on camera, he’s still clueless about it but they showed the video to iwaizumi and now they all have a hearty laugh whenever they see him. very confused about it but doesn’t question it.

#— MIYA OSAMU

cooks you food whenever you’re sad. didn’t really know how to comfort you when you first started dating so food would just randomly appear when you weren’t feeling the best. now it’s his love language. of course he had gotten better at comforting you but, he still makes food for you because you’ve grown to love it. having a bad day? he’ll run you a bath and once you’re out you have a hot home cooked meal in front of you along with osamu being your listening ear, letting you destress.

#— SUNA RINTAROU

does that thing where he flips his blanket to cover his feet completely. but when he does that the blanket also slides down so it stays at his shoulders since he’s so tall. so he has this ongoing battle between whether he wants his feet or shoulders to be out when he sleeps. so because of that, you got him a bigger blanket so he doesn’t have to choose and he literally thanks you for it every night.

it’s canon that he takes very good care of his hands so he gets mani pedis every other weekend. and if he isn’t able to go to the salon one day he’ll do an at home kit and it’s just as effective. it’s basically like a little spa day for him. basically cancels all of the plans he can for the day so he can treat himself to a day of doing self-care.

Drunk Mess.

Warnings: Mentions of being drunk and high, break up, angst

Summary: Your “boyfriend” went out for drinks with his coworkers leaving you worried. After finally picking up, he showed his true colours in his drunken state leaving you both with broken hearts.

32. 32 missed calls for him to finally pick up, and over 50 texts asking if he was okay. Oh and the best part was he was drunk. The fact your anger hasn’t set in was a miracle.

He always drank away his problems at these coworker parties. You never had an issue with them. The issue was he never replied back.

“Huh, Babe why are you calling?” He sounds sober but that’s the thing with him. He’s great at hiding things but this time it isn’t gonna work.

“Where are you?”

“Bar with coworkers. Why?”

You could hear it in his voice now. It was obvious, or at least to you that he wasn’t only drunk as hell but high too. He knew it too so now he’s speaking the bare minimum. How great.

“Why’d you pick up now?”

“Uhh because you called me?”

“So the other 31 calls were just for fun? Every Friday you only pick up when your drunk and now high too?”

“I’m not high!”

“Oh yes you are!”

“Why are you so controlling! I’m just trying to have fun! At least i actually have a job and gain an income instead of relying on others!”

Your heart broke. This is what he thought of you? He knew you had an injury that required surgery which stopped you from working. You even offered to pay out of savings and he denied so how was it your fault?

The silence that followed after was the thread that snapped him back to reality.

“Baby I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. I’m just drunk.”

“It’s over…”

“Baby please it was just-”

“It’s over!”

You ended the called. He spam called and tried texting you but no reply. He knew he messed up and it was on the person he loved the most. This was going to be a hard mess to fix.

you live a pretty normal life. you have lots of friends, lots of clothes, and your very own makeup brand. plus, you have millions of followers on all of your social medias, enough brand deals and fan mail to fill up an entire house, and weekly photoshoots for fashion magazines. and not to mention a beautiful penthouse in the most expensive part of tokyo. okay, maybe your life isn't that normal.

at only 23, you've been on the cover of famous magazines (both in your home country and abroad), developed your own million-dollar beauty brand, and even starred in a few popular movies. the spotlight has always seemed to find you.

when you were younger, you participated in pageants, first locally and eventually moving up to larger-scale competitions. you would start to get spots in commercials for random products. you had become locally well-known, however it would be at the end of your teens that you would be catapulted into real stardom.

when you were 19, you were crowned miss universe japan and were the runner-up for the miss universe competition. ever since, you had become a national celebrity and were known internationally as well. you now lived a lavish lifestyle and surrounded yourself with glamorous possessions and people (though not to say you didn't appreciate and even miss your life before fame). as tokyo's beloved 'it' girl, your life is exciting and lots of business at the same time.

which brings you to now, you were sitting in the backseat of your car after just leaving your manager's office. you kept replaying the conversation you just had with mr. gushiken.

"i don't understand what you're trying to say" you admitted.

"you're going on 24 (y/n), and you've never publicly dated anyone! you're going to become less relatable if you keep it up" he warned. your manager has been on your case about getting into a relationship to boost people's view of you. personally, you didn't care how relatable you are, but the more you thought the more you realized people might find it weird that their favorite megastar hasn't shown any sign of a love life. that didn't mean you wanted a 'pr' relationship though. you want love to find you, you don't want to force it or fake it. if that means waiting for the right person then so be it.

when you finally come back to reality, your driver informs you that you're almost to your destination. your manager booked you a shoot for some designer handbag brand that's going to pay you a large sum for the photos. you're even getting a free purse from their new line, so you're not going to complain.

entering the studio, you're greeted by an intern and shown to the set area. you're caught off guard when you see lev haiba at the set with you. you are aware of him, though you've never collaborated with him before. you most often see him in perfume/cologne advertisements, while you usually appear for fashion brands.

with the context that your manager wants you in a relationship, though, you start thinking that maybe you're being set up. a sinking feeling in your chest causes you to consider what dating lev would be like, and then onto lev himself. what is he like?

"hey (l/n), it's nice to work with you!" lev excitedly greets you. he has a wide grin on his face and talks faster than you can even keep up with.

"i'm happy to work with you too lev" you smile back. you make your decision then and there.

lev is very handsome, he's a model for crying out loud! but he isn't your type. superficially, you've always been into tall guys with dark hair. but honestly, appearance didn't matter to you as long as he had certain other traits. personality-wise, you liked when guys aren't like yourself. you find yourself clashing with lev simply because the two of you are very similar in your dispositions. it's nice as a friend and colleague relationship, but you don't see it working out romantically.

"alright ms. (l/n), please follow me" a younger man calls for your attention and lead you to a dressing/makeup room. your makeup took a little over half an hour, and then you were helped into the elegant red dress you were given for the shoot.

following the same man back out, you see lev already waiting for you so the shoot can begin. you shake hands with the photographer before getting some individual shots with the bags. then, they decide to have the two of you do some photos together. at first, it's innocent enough, but then they start asking you to get into some slightly more intimate poses. for example, the photographer has their intern move you two into a pose where your back is to lev's chest. they have him place his arms around you while you hold a handbag (and he has one over his shoulder). it's a very couple-y pose and you can just picture your manager scheming with the shoot photographer.

the thing that finally puts you over the edge is when they expect you and lev to kiss. that basically confirms your suspicion that this was some sort of plot to make the public see you and lev as a couple and spark a pr relationship between two models. your heart picks up its pace, but not in a positive way. you start to breathe heavier and feel on the bring of an anxiety attack. the only thing really stopping you is knowing how it could affect your reputation.

it's too much. i need to get out of here.

you settle for a kiss on the cheek, before announcing that you're not feeling very well and rushing off the set and back to your dressing room. you chug from your water bottle and breathe deeply, knuckles white as you clutch the edge of the table. you give yourself a few minutes to breathe before quickly getting out of the red dress and slipping into a slightly more casual black one. you grab your purse and walk back down the hallway, saying thank yous and byes to people as you go.

you give a more personal goodbye to lev, and give him a kind smile to show that it's not his fault that you ran out. he smiles back at you in understanding as you leave the building, your driver waiting out front for you. the sun is getting lower in the sky, and the streets are still bustling.

after that interesting shoot, you really need to unwind. you have your driver bring you to an upscale club in the heart of tokyo. you aren't an alcoholic by any means, but you really wanted a distraction and didn't think you would find it in your quiet apartment.

finally reaching your destination, your bodyguard opens the door for you. you thank your driver before walking up to the entrance of the club. several of the people in line excitedly point at you, whisper-shouting that you're even prettier in person and various other compliments. you grin at them before happily greeting the bouncer. this is a club you frequent, and the bouncer is used to seeing you.

you walk inside and immediately feel the speakers vibrating the floor. this dark front hallway merely conceals the colorful dance floor and lit-up bar. one of your favorite things about this club is the lighting perfect for insta pictures. you say hi to some of the people you recognize before feeling the need for a drink.

you head to the vip section and take a seat. your bodyguard is hidden away in the back, giving you some semblance of privacy while still ensuring that he'll be ready at a moment's notice, though you doubt you'll need his assistance here. while waiting for the server, you look down from the indoor balcony that gives a view of the dance floor. there are actually a lot more people here than usual, now that you think about it. there's a lot of really tall, really hot guys here tonight on top of that. a server comes by and you order a drink before asking about all of the extra people here tonight. he tells you that japan's national volleyball team are here

you wait for your drink by doing some more people-watching. you look around the vip area from the chair you're on when your gaze falls on a man across the room. he seems vaguely familiar, but you can't put a name to the face you're currently openly staring at. he's insanely attractive and fits the tall, dark, and handsome archetype to a t. even from where you're sitting you can tell he's particularly muscular, and his features are sharply defined.

is it cheesy and cliché to say this is love at first sight? you can't think of another way to describe it. you feel your heart start to thump faster in your chest, and unlike earlier it's a positive feeling. you look back at him and to your surprise, find that you're making eye contact with him before he quickly averts his eyes.

did you just catch him staring at you?

now you have to find out about him. by going over to him and asking? well no, he had three other guys currently sitting at his booth with him, which runs the risk of him blowing you off even if he is interested. so you do what makes the most sense and ask random clubgoers about him instead of approaching him. like any drunk person down there would ignore a pretty girl anyway.

you head down to the dance floor, where the music is nearly deafening, and try to ask around to find out who this guy is. it takes only one person to find out the identity of the handsome 'stranger'.

a girl around your age is able to tell you that it's kageyama tobio, a professional volleyball player. that explains his excellent physique. you look his name up on your phone and sure enough find the man and numerous pictures of him throughout his career. damn is he hot, especially in his action shots. you also realize you've definitely seen him online before, probably in a headline as part of his impressive volleyball team without even realizing it. apparently, he's a very talented setter and a key part of his team, despite being one of the younger ones on the team (when you see he's 24 you want to yell out loud that finally an attractive guy is actually your age and not a questionable amount older).

you're told by others that he's 'emotionally unavailable' and that he is already in a committed relationship (with volleyball) though. you aren't going to let that stop you, plus he was actually staring back at you earlier. that has to count for something! besides, even if it doesn't work out, the chase itself is fun.

you make your way back up to your seat. you feel eyes on you and find him at the other side of the vip intently staring at you again. one of his teammates (you assume) is sat across from him, though his attention is clearly on you. you wave at him and give him a flirtatious wink, which causes him to furrow his brows. he looks behind and then around himself while you continue to stare at him. is he really so surprised you're interested in him? does he not know how attractive he is?

when he's finally alone, you decide to make your move. pushing your chair back, you make your way over.

"hi. mind if i sit?" you ask. you're not going to beat around the bush or worse- make him feel like he's wasting his time.

he looks at you, likely recognizing you as the beautiful woman across the room that seemed interested in him. he then takes in the rest of you, and you're happy you had decided to wear a short but flattering black dress that highlights your favorite features.

"hey. no" he shortly responds. he shifts over in the booth despite the entire rest of it being empty. you take the opportunity to be close to him and sit in the area he made space for. you bump his shoulder accidentally before placing your drink down.

you sit down and get a good look at him up close for the first time. you have to say, he's even more attractive in person compared to your phone screen. his eye contact with you is inconsistent, as you'll catch his gaze for a few seconds before he looks away with pink cheeks.

"i haven't seen you here before" you say, "what are you doing here tonight?" you question, taking a sip of your drink. you want to hear from him, even though you kind of already know the answer. you look up at him to find him already looking at you, for some reason surprised that a pretty girl is actually this interested in speaking with him. after several moments of his incredulous look, he finally answers you.

"i'm on japan's national volleyball team" he explained, "we're here for 'team bonding' or something". he doesn't say much but you find yourself hanging on every word he speaks. he has an alluringly deep voice that you noticed more with his longer sentence. "i know who you are" he says.

you're shocked by his sudden assertion. honestly, you shouldn't be because you're literally one of the most famous people in tokyo, but still. you honestly feel kind of bad that you hadn't really known who he was when he caught your eye from across the room earlier.

"really?" you ask.

"who doesn't?" he responds.

kageyama does know you. he knows a lot about you, truthfully. you've been his 'celebrity crush' for several years, ever since he happened to see you on the miss universe competition representing his country.

he had been visiting home, watching tv with his sister. miwa has always been a big fan of reality tv and beauty competitions. he hadn't really been paying much attention to what she was watching, opting to play some random game on his phone while waiting for dinner. that was until his sister started freaking out and squealing at the tv. who was the older sibling again?

"tobio it's her! miss universe japan!" she excitedly shouted. "she's so beautiful" she had quieted down a little, but still had her eyes glued to the screen. kageyama looked up from his phone and at the screen and was surprised to see a breathtakingly beautiful girl wearing the 'miss japan' sash. she was smiling brightly and he felt a thump in his chest even though the smile wasn't directly aimed at him.

words on the bottom of the screen came up: 'miss universe japan: (l/n) (y/n)'. he immediately went to look up your name online, and found plenty of pictures of you, along with your instagram with hundreds of thousands of followers. he only scrolled for a few seconds before following you and looking back up at the screen, entranced.

it was a whole new thing to see you in front of him now. slightly older from the first time he had laid eyes on you, but still just as alluring. your smile still makes his heart skip.

"well, i'm honored that the kageyama tobio knows me" you say. he merely stares back at you in awe at finally meeting you in person as he tries to think of something to say.

one of your favorite poppy songs comes on and you excitedly jump up. he gets slightly nervous at your quick action.

"dance with me?" you ask. you have a wide smile on your face and hold your hand out to him.

"i don't dance" he tells you. which is true. whenever he comes to clubs or bars, he feels out of place. while his friends and teammates are able to unwind and attract the attention of women, he finds it much harder to do either. he's much too quiet and emotionally reserved to hold the attention of most women, while others are put off by his 'unsettling' smile.

"it'll be fun! there's so many people here no one will be looking at you anyway, you have nothing to be worried about" you reason. you can clearly see the inner turmoil written on his face.

little do you know, kageyama is so nervous he's going to embarrass himself in front of you. he's never gotten this much personal attention from such a gorgeous girl, let alone a famous one he'd been crushing on for several years. he's almost always had fangirls, but people have always said he's unapproachable and too volleyball-minded for girls to ever have any attraction beyond physical. you've been talking to him for this long though, so he can't help but think this is different and you might actually be genuinely interested in him.

he mutters a small 'ok' and you take your chance before he can change his mind. you grab his hand and pull him from the booth and down the stairs all the way to the dance floor. turning around to face him, you have to look up to meet his eyes again. definitely over 6 foot, but he doesn't tower over you as much as lev does. it's a good, happy medium. he's standing very stiff and looking around at everyone before he looks back down to you. you give him a warm smile, encouraging him to loosen up a little.

you decide it seems like he needs you to help him. you grab his hands and sway back and forth in a goofy way. he only follows your actions, letting himself be wildly flailed around by you. he can't help the smile that breaks out onto his face, one he hasn't let himself show to anyone in a very long time (due to the many comments people had made about it). when you give him a strange look, he quickly tries to go back to his straight face and pulls his hands out of yours, turning around so you can't see his expression. he's already managed to mess up.

that's not how you see it. you're surprised at how his smile makes you feel. you finally understand what people are talking about when they say they have butterflies in their stomach. you feel light and airy, while also being tied down to this world next to him. your entire body heats up and you swear you're about to catch on fire. you haven't felt this way for a guy in a very long time, especially not this quickly. everything about him demands your attention and makes you wish you didn't need to blink so you never have to miss a glimpse of him.

"your smile is cute" you tell him honestly. it's a little unconventional, but you mean what you say. you can tell it's genuine and true, and that in itself is what makes it so beautiful. he gives you a strange look with something you can't really grasp. the best way to describe it is like he's really seeing you for the first time. not just your face, your body, your looks. he sees into you.

"you're gorgeous" he tells you. it's something you've heard thousands of times but it holds an entirely different meaning when you hear it from his mouth. you glance up at him and find him giving you an intense look of admiration and maybe even more.

"kiss me" you whisper. he doesn't respond verbally, and instead grants you your request. the butterflies in your stomach explode and go all over your body. it's an amazing sensation that leads you wanting more. his lips are slightly chapped, and you have to admit he seems slightly inexperienced, but you don't care. if anything, it's endearing. you hear some of the people (they sound like guys so you guess they're probably his teammates) whistle and holler in your general direction, but neither of you pay any mind to it. his arms fold around your back and pull you in closer, causing you to reach up and place your arms over his shoulders and around his neck. after what feels like forever, you pull away though he follows you. you hide your face and just embrace him. he's so warm and the feeling calms you. you feel safe with him, and wish the two of you could just be alone with each other.

you tell him as much, and he offers up his place for the two of you to go. you smile at him before texting your driver and your bodyguard (who was watching you now), telling them the address you would be heading to.

honestly, the rest of the night is history.

a package turned up at your apartment, something which at first makes you a little nervous. being as famous as you are, it's unsettling to think a 'fan' might show up at your door or have bad intentions with you. fortunately, the package is addressed to you from your manager. why not just text me, we're in the 21st century? you think, but pass it off as him being an 'old man' (he's about 50, so you decide).

you sit down with the package on the couch in your patio. opening it up, you find one of the most popular celeb news magazines and immediately recognize the two people on the cover. it's a picture of you and tobio walking down the sidewalk after one of your recent coffee dates. he had been walking you to one of your friends apartment buildings to visit her (and more importantly her dog). the photographer had caught you animatedly talking about god knows what, but you were more interested in tobio. he was looking at you intently with the faintest smile that most people probably wouldn't notice. if they didn't notice that, though, they definitely would notice the look in his eyes: lovestruck. if it was a cartoon you were sure he would have literal hearts in his eyes. you held your frappuccino in the hand not intertwined with tobio's. though you could find paparazzi annoying and even creepy at times, you have to admit you love everything about this picture.

the picture of course has a caption. in big letters it reads:

'tokyo's hottest new couple!: (l/n) (y/n) & kageyama tobio are official!'

you can't help the smile on your face. flipping through the pages, you finally come to the one about you and kageyama. a small slip of paper falls out when you do so, and you find it's a note from your manager:

congratulations on front cover again. he's a keeper - gushiken-san

"what's that?" a familiar voice behind you questions. you feel arms wrap around you and you smile. it seems someone's finally gotten out of bed.

"us" you show him the cover, to which he makes a low hum in response.

"i'm putting this on the fridge" you joke. you turn around to face him in all of his bedhead glory, wrapping your arms up around his shoulders.

"seriously? i look weird in that picture" he scoffs. you playfully swat him for making such an objectively wrong claim. you always help him with his self-esteem. he never doubts his abilities in volleyball, but in nearly ever other part of his life he needs some assistance. even now that the two of you are actually dating he doesn't feel worthy enough, friendly enough, attractive enough for someone like you. you do everything you can to convince him otherwise. he is worthy, sweet to you, and definitely attractive enough.

"you look handsome in it! but you always do so i'm not sure why you're surprised" you teasingly flirt. his cheeks darken and you reach up to pinch one. he moves his head away but moves back to gaze sweetly into your eyes. you look back just as sweet, and can't help but be lost in his beautiful blue eyes.

"if you say so" he responds with a kiss to your cheek. you respond with a kiss to his lips, followed by many more.

Fandom: Haikyuu Pairing: Kageyama Tobio x Male!Reader Summary: Kageyama found himself in a predicament, he doesn't know how to say he's a taken man. Word Count: 1,046

"Whatcha doing?"

You peered over your boyfriend's shoulder to see that he has been added to a groupchat, which was normal, but your eyes widen when you saw the groupchat name. You snorted behind him as Kageyama hides his phone and covers his face in embarrassment.

"You really do have a fan club," You commented loudly, with a jokey tone to your voice as you hear your boyfriend groan.

"Shut up!" Kageyama spoke loudly before throwing a pillow at you, you laugh loudly as you watch your boyfriend faceplant his face into a different pillow.

You managed to swipe his phone from his hand, hastily putting his code in before scrolling through the groupchat. You noticed that it was people that Kageyama told you about, all of the members were volleyball players from his school or a school he had played against.

"Oh, Tobio, please tell me you're not friends with Oikawa-san," You sighed in disappointment, though it was more in a joking matter rather than actual disappointment, as you noticed he still had not moved from his position, "Tobio, honey, you're going to suffocate."

"I don't know why they all like me!" Kageyama spoke muffled, before lifting his head, "They're all weirdly simping over me, it's really uncomfortable."

"Well, have you told them that?"

"No?"

You softly smile at your dimwitted boyfriend before shaking your head in amusement. You plop yourself next to him before passing his phone to him, he takes it back begrudgingly, sighing himself before scrolling through the groupchat.

"Even, Tsukishima is simping over me!" He groans, falling back onto his back, arm spread, "And he hates me! I'm not even that special!"

"You're special to me, Tob."

"Well, yeah! You're the only one who can think that; no one else, that spot is reserved for you!" Tobio continues to moan as you can't help but grin at him, "I don't know how to tell them, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings."

"But, they're hurting yours."

You rationalised as you swivel round to look at him properly, instead of looking over your shoulder. You lean over to play with his hair, as he lets out a relaxed sigh, before shuffling so you can reach him easily.

"Well, they're hurting your feelings."

"I'm not hurt, I find it funny," You replied back as Kageyama gives you a scowl before you rolled your eyes, "I'm kidding."

"I'm being serious, (Y/n), it'll build up and then you're gonna get hurt in the process, and I don't want that to happen. I care too much for that to happen."

As much as Kageyama appreciate that his friends, teammates and other players admire him in ways he thinks they shouldn't, he just wriggles with displeasure. He wants to make a name for himself, and show others that he's a great volleyball player, not some cute boy that everyone thinks he is. He knows he's so much more than whatever label they want to give him.

Plus, whilst the compliments are nice, he hates the word hot and sexy coming from anyone other than you. He already has his own fan club at school, where most girls stare at him and try to follow him everywhere. He didn't need another with the thing he consider a safe place for him.

"Well, do anyone of these people follow your Instagram?" You wondered out loud.

"Why would that matter?"

"We're not exactly private, Tobio, we post each other as much as we can because well, we can, and if no one follows you then they don't know that you're a taken man and stop the flirting."

"Oh."

"You're really dense, you know," you joked as you throw his phone, landing on his chest.

"How do I send my Instagram?"

"Oh, Tobio," You give him grabby hands as he gives you his phone and let you work your magic before he is handed back his phone.

Suddenly, Kageyama watches how his phone light up with notifications of many people following him on his Instagram. He looks onto the app, watching the influx of followers and likes of posts. He smiles to himself as he goes onto his profile.

You were right, you two weren't exactly private in your relationship.

Most of his posts were candid pictures of you and him together, sure there were the odd pictures of himself, some with his friends, some with his sister. But, primarily it was you all over his profile. Plus, he likes looking at his profile, you taught him how to be aesthetic. And he only posts his favourite pictures of you and him.

One of his favourite pictures of the two of you was a picture taken by his sister, it was technically a recreation picture. You two were napping with each other on the floor with blankets covering your legs, but it was Kageyama pressed against your back with his arm draped over your waist.

When you swipe the post to see the next picture, it was a picture of him and you when you were little, basically in the same position. He can't help but love and cherish the picture. It makes him fall in love with you all over again.

Oikawa boi, is that (L/n)-chan?

Iwazumi lmaoooo love that for you Tobio-kun

Kageyama smiled in satisfaction as the groupchat blows up with how Oikawa and Iwazumi knows of you. He shows you his phone as the two of you watch how the group chat descends into chaos. He had to hold his finger on the screen as the chat was going way too quick to read.

You and he giggle at how everyone was shocked that he had a boyfriend and that they were all suddenly gushing over each post and how both of you were so cute together.

"See, honey, they took it well."

"I'm glad," Kageyama nodded, his shoulders finally relaxing as he happily types something back into the groupchat, then promptly throws his phone away and tackles you into a cuddle, "You know, they're right?"

"How so?"

"You're really hot and we are a very cute couple."

"Shut up!!" You exclaimed, hiding your face as you were flustered and grinning at him, "You're such a sap!"

"A very happy taken sap, (Y/n)!"

oikawa x y/n scenario

Context: a scenario where oikawa and you help each other with your insecurities and struggles of self-loath.

A/n: a few years back I was really interested in Haikyuu, my favourite character being Oikawa (I almost always like the flirty, egotistical guys idk why 🤷‍♀️) and recently I decided to check out my pinterest board dedicated to this man. And that turned into me reading fanfics on tumblr an looking through pinterest. I'm honestly surprised that there are still people who like this show and there are some that still post about it. Even if you dont like/care for haikyuu or Oikawa, maybe this scenario in general could be interesting to you? 🙃

CW: I suppose themes involving self-loathing and feeling as though you're not pretty. Please excuse any misspellings or grammatical issues.

For him to have a relationship with somebody who is not conventionally pretty.

You're not ugly by any means but because you have never recieved any confessions or experiences of love by guys in school, this has caused you to question your beauty. You dont necessarily try to be beautiful, opting to get extra sleep and pick out quick outfits rather than take the extra effort, but that doesnt mean you don't care. You just don't know where to start and not much motivation to go beyond your comfort zone.

That is until you met oikawa. Now the romance wasn't sudden, as most love at first sight portrays conventionally beautiful people.

Oikawa is the type to usually receive affection/attention from cute girls so he assumed that look was normal. When both of you meet, you both didnt really care for each other. He was just a popular guy, and you were just a girl.

You became their teams manager because it was recommended by a fellow student, but while you got accepted and was working, you were sometimes reminded of the fact that some if not most guys wanted pretty managers, something that you apparently arent (not true).

Oikawa, despite his previous lack of feelings for you, noticed. He noticed because as the weeks when by, he grew to appreciate your work and had a bare jist of who your were. So when you adorned a deep sadness in big volleyball games or any other event involving other teams and their managers, he took note of it. He was able to find the source of the problem when after the games or as the teams were mingling, he heard comments about how you were the "ugly duckling" among the other managers, saying that they feel bad for the team that has to see you every practice.

This for some reason irked him. He usually ignored comments regarding the managers because he knew what most guys wanted, it wasnt his business to get into he thought. And if he had to be honest, back then and still a bit now (though only to go along with convo with other guys), he makes comments about pretty managers.

But his view has changed ever since he caught glimpses of your true self. What areas you were passionate about, your strengths, even some of your weaknesses he knew. He knew from your actions how you were caring and empathetic, wanting to make sure he didn't overwork himself. There were times where everyone was groaning at his antics (to be expected. no one can blame them), but you were off to the side silently laughing. There were times where hes made comments about Tobio's unending talent, and you reprimanded him lightly, reminding him of his own talents, even if he couldnt quite see it himself. There were moments where he swore you could see through to his true self by the way you look at him in deep thought. You have even joined him in his antics, copying his silly moves and laughing alongside him. And last but not least, hes seen your competence and skill as a manager. You still had a lot to learn as it was your first year, but you had the drive to reflect and be better, which is important in a manager.

So when he heard those rude comments, it irked him because they were discrediting your work and even indirectly insulted his own team! As if! You are one of the reasons why their team does so well. Hes had enough. Done with the blatant insults, he walks towards the nobodies with false politeness, a smile not reaching his eyes. He looks down at them and says "hello! Sorry to disturb your thrilling conversation, but I couldnt help but concern myself over the talk of my dear manager." Their quick shock at seeing the king himself quickly sobered with laughter as they realized his words. One of the guys spoke. "Oh man! Shes Aoba jousai's manager?! What were guys thinking in letting her join? Doesnt your school have tons of cute girls?" Oikawa isn't fazed. "Why of course we do! But unfortunately, not all of them have what it takes to be a competent manager like y/n."

He then leans in closer, his smile wiped from his face, and speaks in low tone causing the two boys to look petrified and angry at the same time, offending by whatever oikawa said and angry by his audacity. It was the type of look that you have seen players make when an opponent is stronger than them and is looking down upon them. It was a sight to see to watch them angrily walk away from a smug oikawa. Even more amusing to see oikawa then get hit by a flying ball, its owner none other than iwaizumi.

You had no idea why he would jump to make such an action, ruling out the possibility that he might have done it for your sake as to not make embarrassing and hasty assumptions (you arent exactly oblivious to signs, more so doubtful the romantic type of motivations apply to you). Your conclusive theory is that he did it to defend aoba jousai, as they did indirectly insult the team (and you saw the way his face twitched at the sneering boys at the mention of the team). But even so, you cant help but feel a little better, especially when oikawa gave you a big smile and a peace sign afterwards.

Eventually one thing leads to another and oikawa decides to help you out by offering to give you makeovers, go over skin routines and do your hair for you in the mornings whenever he gets the chance, reassuring you many times that hes willing to wake up extra early for this. You were still very wary about the idea, not wanting to be a nuisance or a chore for him but after a lot of persuasion and pleading, you hesitantly agreed.

He ended up being very serious about the whole process, going over different products and processes, giving you tips and advice for achieving the confidence and the look that accentuates the beauty that's already there. Of course he is still teasing you and performing his usual antics, but when he gets to the nitty gritty processes and whenever you start to feel down about your self, hes serious, a layer of concern in his features.

For your first treatment, he let you stay put and allow him to do all the work, wanting you get a feel for the products and to also treat you since he could see the worry and self loath in your eyes as his fingers go over the black heads on your nose and the blemishes and scars on your face. But he can also see the genuine interest in your eyes and he smiles to himself whenever you close your eyes and unforrow your brows, completely relaxed when hes lathering products on your face or applying make up. Hes patient with the parts you might be scared of, like curling your eyelashes (hes quick to point out the beauty in them. You might laugh in denial but he saw how you gave yourself another look in the mirror, seeing if what he said was true). The way he goes over hairstyles are amusing, but also therapeutic. He teases at first, messing up your hair and holding your hair in a weird way intentionally to lighten the mood, but when you give him full/semi-full creative freedom (depending on if you have looks you'd prefer or didnt want), he worked to give you one he thought fit your looks and needs well. It would be therapeutic because his fingers would sometimes graze your scalp/skin and he would hum to himself, his fingers working rhythmically. Hes grown to like whenever you close your eyes when hes giving you makeovers cause it means you trust him and found the experience relaxing.

Overall the experiences are calming and hes done, although there are still some doubts, after some reassurment, you look much happier. Hes caught you once or twice looking at yourself in the mirror and he cant help but smile seeing you obsess over his work. Over some weeks, you've grown to experiment and be more confident about your looks, looking much happier at school than previously before, and in those morning sessions, the two of you have talked and bonded over different topics, ranging in all levels of seriousness or lack thereof. Hes grown to like to you for who you are, every side that you show him, and you've grown to understand him at a deeper level as well. You've both helped each other, you with your confidence and him with his tendency to overwork himself, but noth of you have helped each other with the others tendency to self loath.

Your romance was slow, and it took a while before one of you confessed and for you to accept that oikawa loves you, but since you both had a sense of understanding your relationship was healthy.

Bonus: I think it would be cute if oikawa helped you in subjects/areas you have trouble understanding. Through your study/HW hangouts and oikawas dramatic antics and way of teaching, it helped strength your bond and to give yourself confidence that your capable of understanding any material as long as you have the motivation and the right learning strategies that work for you. You have both also took this time to watch previous volleyball matches where oikawa enthusiastically teaches you all there is to know about volleyball and the specific matches and players. It was very educational and you enjoyed seeing him passionately talking about it. It would also be cute if you two subconsciously watched close together, as if you were a couple.

There are rumors that Oikawa Tooru is a player (in an area other than volleyball), and that makes him laugh. He remembers interviews from the early days, the simple, evasive responses in Spanish his teammates had taught him just to keep him out of trouble. He’d come off as bashful and private back then, and the public had found him endearing.

As he’d gained more confidence and popularity, though, the questions became more pressing, people discontent with the neat (almost too neat) sidestepping Tooru had gotten away with the past couple of years. He stopped confirming or denying his relationship status, playing coy and raising even more suspicions.

Throw in a few blurry pictures of Tooru allegedly sneaking around to meet up with various people during competitions, his official coming out, and exaggerated testimonies from his high school girlfriends (really? Et tu?), and Tooru found himself with a full-blown, wholly unearned reputation on his hands.

(For the record, he never would have treated his girlfriends like that and Tooru wasn’t sneaking around with people during competitions, he was sneaking around to meet up with one specific person—who, apparently, was very bad at sneaking around.)

People really are ridiculous sometimes, trying to force a scandal out of nothing.

In any case, there are rumors that Tooru likes to laugh about while curled around his partner, poking fun at the inevitable scowl that appears on Tobio's face because he’s more upset about the defamation of character than Tooru himself. While he appreciates Tobio’s indignation, to Tooru, they’re just rumors, they’ve only ever been pesky rumors, and he really doesn’t care so long as the people who matter know the truth.

Maybe one day, he’ll make a public statement and shock the world or something. That’s a fun idea.

Then again, maybe the matching rings on matching chains that he and Tobio both wear make a better statement than he ever could.

AUGH THREE BULLETS IMMEDIATELY STRAIGHT TO THE HEART YES

kyohyotsu. augh i missed them so bad. another comic idea that I’ve had for a while that I don’t think I’ll ever get around to drawing is the three of them going for a walk, and Hyoma gets cold, and immediately the other two wanna give him a jacket but they realize three very important things very immediately

1. Kyoya’s jackets are sleeveless

2. Tsubasa doesn’t even wear a jacket in the first place

3. Really, Hyoma’s dressed the warmest out of the three of them

and they scramble. both of them are so disappointed in themselves as partners. ultimately they just settle on the double arm around the shoulder. Hyoma is 100% okay with this solution.

Also @ ur tags on my last post of them,,, we’ve already established that kyoya smells like dirt (/pos) to both Tsubasa and Hyoma. To Tsubasa, Hyoma mostly smells like fresh air and occasionally clean laundry. Kyoya thinks Tsubasa smells like lavender, but he can’t quite place what Hyoma’s scent reminds him of. It bothers him. He’s forced to bury his face into Hyoma’s shoulder occasionally to try and figure it out but he can never get it. This is also an arrangement Hyoma is 100% fine with

Bit of a hurt/comf one that is mostly kinda me projecting, but Hyoma very frequently gets waves of random sadness and a lot of the times when this gets bad, he gets really bad at communicating verbally, but also requires more attention. I think they have their own little way of going about it but usually this results in the other two cuddling and reassuring him when he needs it. It doesn’t make it go away completely but it helps and Hyoma appreciates it.

Tobio and dss,,,,, man I haven’t thought about them in ages either I miss them too!!!! Tobio is a character I love so dearly I love him so much. Him being a hopeless romantic is an idea I love so much but it’s even better when you pair it with his super cool guy persona. and I mean it’s barely even a persona bc he’s actually just kinda awesome and I love that for him. but like, he’s so flashy and charismatic and has this air of mystique to him all the time, and just imagine that contrasted with him being the biggest lover boy of all time. it’s great I truly do adore it. I can imagine it causing some hijinks as well because I like to think of both Tetsuya and ryutaro on the aroace spectrum and while they’re not completely without romantic attraction, it’s also not something that they’re entirely familiar with or know how to go about dealing with, so that paired with ultra romantic Tobio is just very silly. I imagine sometimes he gets a little overexcited when it comes to romance and tends to move a little too fast at times and has to physically hold himself back so as to not push the others too far. It’s not something he minds, just that he needs to adjust to properly. The others, for their part, I think both admire Tobio in their own ways. Ryutaro is very fond of him as a whole and appreciates having someone else who can share the braincell from time to time, and Tetsuya is totally enamored by how cool he is. Tetsuya and Tobio are definitely my fav individual duo between all of them (the movie definitely contributed to this) and I just think the idea of Tetsuya genuinely admiring Tobio and thinking he’s really cool but never fully expressing that is so sweet. Tetsuya tends to be very goofy a lot of the times but I think tobio’s presence inspires him to muster on his more genuine, affectionate feelings a lot more and I just really enjoy that dynamic. The three of them are all so silly and different but it’s in such a way that I really do think that they’re all just kind of perfect for each other and I really love that about them.

AND OH BOY. RYOMA AND VICTORIA KURAYAMI MY BELOVEDS.

I don’t know how much I’ll go into about them because recently I mentioned in a server wanting to write a full kurayami family lore doc and honestly I think I might actually get to that soon but like god there’s so much.

I do feel a bit bad because of the two of them, I think I’ve developed Victoria a little less than Ryoma just bc most of the thoughts I’ve had about them center around the dragon clan specifically and the themes they present but ourghh. ourgh. I’ll save the angstier stuff for the lore doc I think.

The two of them met as young adults. Victoria was a prolific blader and adventurer, constantly in search of new horizons and stronger opponents, yk pretty typical blader stuff. She’s a very vibrant character and very friendly, though always preferred to travel on her own. She enjoys taking in a lot of different scenery and exploring and learning as much as she can about every new place she comes by. A lot of the connections she makes on her travels are temporary, and she’s okay with that. She journals a lot so she never forgets anywhere she’s been or anyone she’s met there.

Ryoma meanwhile was one of the very few living members of the dragon clan, and those guys have never been all too familial in the first place. I’ve been thinking about his specific relations to Ryuga and Ryuto recently, as of right now I’m settling on the three of them being cousins. He was never close with them, both with him being a fair bit older than them and all of them being very independent individuals. Ryoma I think more than most other dragon clan members tended to stay pretty close to home, not really having any certain path he wanted to follow besides the general ideas of being as strong as possible and taking down strong opponents that were generally upheld by the dragon clan.

Their first meeting was on a volcanic mountain top. Dragon clan members are naturally drawn to volcanic areas, so Ryoma was just wandering a little further from home than usual, mostly just trying to clear his head. Victoria was traveling Japan at the time, again just taking in the scenery, enjoying a little bit of danger, when their paths crossed. The way I’ve pictured it in my head, I’ve described as very similar to Sakyo and Shinobu’s first battle. They lock eyes and almost immediately recognize each other as bladers both understanding that they’re about to battle. The battle itself I still haven’t decided concretely on the results of but the important take away is that they’re evenly matched, and both of them leave it very fascinated with each other. Ryoma is still very gruff and closed off at the time, so rather than lingering for long, turns to walk away. Victoria asks if she’ll meet him again, and Ryoma assures that she will.

And lo and behold, she does. They meet and battle several more times after that. At first, Ryoma thinks that maybe this is the destiny he was meant to follow, that she is his ultimate rival that he was destined to defeat/surpass, but gradually, the more they battle, the more they learn about each other as well. And eventually, it’s Victoria who first suggests that the two just. Talk. Hang out a bit. And they do. And it’s foreign to Ryoma. He’s not used to casual dynamics. He’s not used to feeling comfortable with someone else. But Victoria’s been steadily chipping at his walls and he’s welcoming this. For Victoria’s part, this is the most attached she’s ever been to anyone she’s met while traveling, but something about Ryoma keeps drawing her back in.

Ryoma doesnt disclose much about himself or the clan specifically, but as they do start becoming closer, and eventually falling in love, he does let her in on a little bit about his family being overbearing and disapproving of their relationship. Victoria doesn’t fully understand the extent of this and gives the best advice she can, and eventually, Ryoma ends up gaining the confidence to fully run away with her. It’s the most free he’s ever felt and it’s the first major step into allowing himself to become more of a person.

Their domestic life together is very comfortable. It has its bumps, especially at the end, but for what there is, it’s the best thing either of them have had in their lives. Both of them work together to take care of themselves and each other more, which is what eventually leads up to them having Sakyo. Ryoma loves him more than anything in the world, and is so relieved that he can give his son a better upbringing he had without the same expectations of the dragon clan (dramatic irony and all that haha). Both him and Victoria are such loving, hardworking parents who truly wish nothing more than to give their son the world.

I’ve already said a lot and it’s hard to go further from here without getting angsty ahshshd. I will say, in the manga-compliant version, Victoria, still alive, is very proud of her son and heavily encourages him to pursue both ballet and beyblade. She sees a lot of her younger self in him and holds great faith that in letting him go off on his own (with takanosuke)(I’m very quickly making childhood friend hcs about manga takasakyo bc there’s nothing stopping me now), he’ll be able to build similar strong, important connections as well.

IM REALLY WRITING TOO MUCH AND I PROMISE IM GONNA WRAP IT UP SOON but the one other thing I wanted to mention is that I do have a slightly less angsty au for Victoria and Ryoma where they meet as teens instead of adults. In this version, I think Victoria is able to more quickly get Ryoma to open up and break away from the dragon clan before their toxic ideals get fully ingrained into him, and it gives him more of an opportunity to be a kid and be able to enjoy his life more and I just think it’s very sweet and comforting. here’s some doods I’ve made of them bc I love them <3

Yahaba has an odd obsession of holding you by your waist. He likes to lay down and have you lay down on his chest, his hand finds it's way to your waist and his thumb runs small circles around your waistline. He wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you to his side when you sit together on the couch, or when you are standing together doing something. He keeps his hands there as much as he can, even pulling you in by your waist in passionate kisses.

Kenma Kozume:

Kenma doesn't really hold you, he more lays on you and holds your hand. You will be sitting on the couch and he will come lay his head on your shoulder, interlocking your hands with a small smile as he continues whatever game or book he was on before he came to sit by you. He lays his head on your lap and let's you play with his hair as he falls asleep too. He is basically a cat, and shows affection in a similar way.

Teshiro is one for holding your hand or wrapping an arm around you as you lay beside him or curl into him on his lap. He likes feeling you being close in a casual way and he loves to kiss the tip of your nose as you curl up into him. He mumbles a few "I love you"s and lays his head slightly onto you sometimes and the two of you share those little moments.

Iizuna likes to hold you laying down or sitting down and hugging you to his chest, your head in his chest or shoulders while your body rests on his own. After his injury he is forced to sit more, and he enjoys it when you come sit with him and watch the team play while you cuddle.

He also occasionally will fall asleep like this if you are sitting or laying down together.

Akaashi is a gentle lover, and his touch is always the same. He holds you with a gentle arm around you back holding you to his chest while you sit of lay down. He keeps his head either on top of yours or on your shoulder. Sometimes he grabs a book and reads aloud gently until you fall asleep and then decides to go to sleep with you after kissing your forehead and muttering a small "I love you darling... get some rest." He keeps his arm around your back as he drifts off, and runs his thumb in small circles as you listen to hin read. He shows you he loves you with every touch.

Kenjiro Shirabu:

Shirabu holds you to his chest by an arm around your back and a hand on the best of your head, messing with your hair a little as the two of you lay together. For longer haired partners he runs his hand through your hair, and for those with short or no hair he will massage your scalp a little. He presses kisses to your forehead and nose while he explains his day and how he was doing, asking you about yours once hes done. He feels closer to you this way, and loves to hear the small content noises you give him before you start your own rant about your day.
