*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Chihiro Ogino is the ten-year-old daughter of very unfortunate parents who wander into a deserted city, eat spirit food, and are transformed into pigs, leaving Chihiro to navigate the mysterious spirit world that springs to life at night.
Haku is a young apprentice and henchman to the witch Yubaba, who runs a bathhouse for the spirits and forces Haku (both as a human and in his dragon form) to serve her as long as he has forgotten his true name and identity.
Haku immediately tries to help the terrified Chihiro as she struggles to make sense of the insanity in the spirit world, and he sends her to beg a job from Yubaba. Renamed Sen and sent to work as a maid in the bathhouse, Chihiro secretly meets with Haku in order to hatch a plan to rescue her parents and escape the spirit world. Meanwhile, Haku searches for his true identity but is endangered by both Yubaba and her twin sister Zeniba, ending in his mortal wound in dragon form. Chihiro must overcome a world of troubles if she is to save Haku’s life and still manage her own escape, but her love for him (and the mysterious past they share) proves strong and enduring.
between 2016-19 i had put out a bunch of random bandcamp and soundcloud songs under the name “tochinoki” and i have some more muzak ideas but i was wondering if i should keep using that name or move on bc i feel like, idk, i’ve kinda outgrown it?
some of the other names for the project i was thinking about were “wulfbuoy” or “garwalfey” (duh), “werewolf radio,” “escitalopranimal,” “apocalypso,” and “grrrrrrrrr”
The rugged mountains of Chichibu in western Saitama Prefecture are home to a number of famous waterfalls, one of the most renowned being Fudōtaki. The cascading waters of the 50-meter, three-tiered chute are a spectacular sight. But standing beside the falls like a herald is an equally impressive, albeit less celebrated—signboards fail to mention it altogether—natural wonder, a 500-year-old Japanese horse chestnut, or tochinoki.
tochinoki is under construction but if anyone wants to visit and has any ideas for builds in the “bald spots” i’d be so thankful 🥺
my villagers are mostly all on the beach right now so i can nestle them into builds as i go. right now i have some mostly finished/built areas and a lot of super blank/open space that i’m not sure if i should just wedge in little neighborhoods or do themed areas or something? i think i have a vague retro+sorta rural japan vibe mostly
