Your POV:
Tumblr media
I sighed frustrated, Chris was being cold and distance on text which wasn’t like him.
Maybe he had a bad day, but he shouldn’t take it out on me that wasn’t fair.
I laid down on the couch watching some random show on Netflix as I heard my apartment door open. I sat up looking at my door to see my boyfriend Chris walk in.
"How was your day?"
I asked smiling softly at him, hoping he’d open up and talk to me about it. Instead of doing that though he ignored me as he took his shoes off.
He then mumbled an okay and walked straight into my bedroom, I got up from the couch and followed behind him. I sighed running my hand through my hair.
"Did you have a bad day?" My voice low as he turned to face me in the doorway. He rolled his eyes scoffing, as he stuck his tounge out in his cheek.
"Can we just not right now."
His voice was cold, not the kind of tone you'd use with your girlfriend. I put my hands up in defeat not wanting to fight with him.
As I walked back to the living room, I sat down on the couch calling Nick.
"What's up?" Nick's voice rang through the phone as I paused for a second.
"Is Chris okay he-" Before I could finish my sentence I heard Nick sigh and say something I couldn't make out to Matt.
"He's fine. He is just being a baby that's all. We awnsered questions in our video and a lot were about you and him dating than just about him. He got upset about it." Nick explained as I furrowed my brows together.
"Okay. Thank you Nick" I said before hanging up. I sat down for a few minutes debating if I should go and talk to Chris or let him calm down a bit before I talked to him.
I stood up walking to my bedroom, my door was kind opened as I peeked in. Chris was laying down on my bed cuddling with a stuffed animal I had.
"Do you wanna talk about what happened today?" I asked, as I walked in the room sitting down next to him as I moved some of his light fluffy brown hair out of his face.
"No I don't want to talk about it. I heard you talking to Nick. I'm not just some baby. I sure as hell do not need to be treated like that either." Chris said sitting up looking at me with an angry expression.
I looked at him for a moment not sure what to say, he usually wasn’t this upset or cared if I asked his brothers what was up with him.
"I'm sorry I called Nick, I was worried and for the record I don't think you're a baby at all. I just want you to talk to me. You have been cold and distance towards me all day. That isn’t fair at all.”
I placed my hand on his cheek as I kissed his forehead softly. He sighed and looked down at his hands in his lap.
"I know I’m sorry… It’s just w e were doing a Q and A. Every question was about our love life, why we didn't post one another as much anymore. They even asked if we broke up. Some were even asking if you cheated on me and all these rumors I know shouldn't let get to me but they did. And I didn't want to finish the stupid video. Matt and Nick got on me for it and said some shit and we got into a fight." Chris explained as I listened nodding along with his story.
I looked at his hands fidgeting with one another as I grabbed them into mine.
"Hey, it's okay baby. I know they got to you, but that's okay. I love you and you love me that is all that matters. Not what some hardcore borderline obsessed fans think. And I know Chris and Matt just want to finish videos but they should also listen to your boundaries. Im so sorry that happened, what can I do to make you feel better?" I asked as he looked up at me blush slowly creeping onto his face.
"U-uh.. I don't know.."
"You do know baby what is it?"
He gulped as looked up at me making eye contact before looking down at my boobs.
I raised an eyebrow, "You want to play with my boobs?"
This question set him off as he tried explaining but failing due to his stutering and embrassment.
“I-I mean Maybe.. But like we d-don’t have to do that since like y’know w-we’ve never done that before and-“
I giggled a bit at his blushing and antics before shushing him.
"I was joking with you, you can if you ask properly."
He furrwoed his brows as he sighed, "Y/n.. Can I play with your.. Y-your um... B-boobs." He said trying his best not to sound stupid as I smiled at him and nodded.
"Words please" He asked as I rolled my eyes, "Yes baby".
Hearing the magic words he pushed me down on my mattress his lips colliding with mine as he moved up my shirt.
I wasn't wearing a bra because I was home all day, he inhaled looking at my boobs as he grabbed them both moving them around.
“God I think I feel better already” He said smirking a bit as I rolled my eyes.
He kissed them both before piniching my left nipple with his fingers as he began to suck on the right one.
My head fell backward onto the pillow as a breathless moan came out of my mouth.
His tonuge swerling against me causing the lower half of my body to get butterflies.
"Mmmm... Your boobs are so perfect ma. I love them, I could suck on them all day" Chris said softly leaving my right nipple with a pop between his lips.
He moved to my left one leaving a bunch of small kisses around it.
He moved towards the bottom of my boob sucking on it leaving small hickeys in places only he would be able to see.
My hand found it's way into his hair as I pulled on it slightly.
"I love you ma. I love you so so so so much" He said looking up at my face, as he went up to kiss my nose. I smiled softly as he kissed me. His scent being the only thing I could smell or think about.
He was intoxicating, every time he would pull me in more like a drug.
"I love you more" I said after we finished kissing, his hands still on my boobs as he went back down.
He pinched my left nipple before putting his mouth over it sucking on it. I arched my back a bit due to the sudden contact, my body feeling like it was on fire.
He cupped my boob with his hand as he began sucking harder.
“Mmm… You’re mine. You’re all mine”
He whispered softly before going back onto my boob.
His other hand finding any place on my body to touch or pinch.
His hand roamed down to my hips as he held it for a bit.
He moved from my boobs down to my lower stomach fluttering them with kisses as he went back up to my boobs kissing every part of my body he had access to.
"Youre so perfect. So beautiful. God I'm so lucky." He muttered almost to himself.
His hands went back down to my inner thigh as his fingers pressed down onto my clothed clit.
My breath hitched as I looked up at him my eyes questioning him.
“I’m gonna make you feel good okay?” He said as I nodded.
His fingers entered the band of my shorts as he made contact with my clit again. His ringer and middle finger rubbing circles softly on it as I moaned.
“C-chris oh fuck…”
I muttered as he smiled at me before going back down to my boobs sucking on it. His fingers moved further down as he thrusted his fingers in.
I let my head fall back profanities escaping my mouth as he curled his fingers.
His long fingers hitting my g-spot over and over again until I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Please I’m going too-“
Before I could finish I felt my body tense up as everything went white, my vision became blurry. My body started to tremble as Chris muttered things to me.
“You’re so good for me, good job ma.”
He said lifting his head up as he kissed my cheek, his hand leaving my shorts.
I smiled at him as he moved to lay down next to me.
I moved my body to face him as he pushed me down moving up so his face was in front of my boobs.
He kissed them both before sucking on each nipple for a few seconds.
"Can I just lay here and suck on them until I get tired?" Chris asked shepishly as I nodded my hands running through his hair.
He looked back at my boobs sucking on the closet one to him.
I held him close in my arms as I felt him relax around me, every few minutes he would swtich to the other one.
This continued until he eventually fell asleep in my arms.
"I love you pretty boy" I said in his ear as I held him. I kissed his forehead softly before going to take a nap myself.

Slashers with a shapeshifter s/o
Aha I totally didn’t get this idea after watching the original Cartoon Network Teen Titans and laughing my ass off at beast boy.
Gender neutral s/o - They/Them and you is used
Includes: Thomas Hewitt, The Sinclair brothers (separate), Brahms, Jason Vorhees, and Tiffany Valentine
WARNINGS: Shapeshifting into animals! Strong language is used a little bit.
Thomas Hewitt
—————
I’ll be honest, the first time you shape-shifted he didn’t even know it was you. Gave him a bit of a spook-
You were just chilling on the couch, trying to take a cat nap. Literally, you were a cat.
Then you heard the front door swing open. You opened one eye… And it was Tommy!
So you very excitedly hopped off the couch, making him look over and tilt his head. Since when did a cat get inside? Hoyt ain’t gonna like that…
But then suddenly the cat turned into a human! You to be exact!
Right when you were shifting back you jumped into Tommy’s arms (thankfully he caught you, but of course he would! Boy that man is STRONG!)
“Hi Tommy! How are you? Are you busy? We should nap together!” You quickly said.
Tommy’s heart beat quickened, shocked from your sudden appearance. He just stared at you confused. What are you? Please explain it to him.
But once you explain to him that you are a shapeshifter, what that is, and how you don’t know how or why you are what you are, he is much calmer. He thinks it’s unique! Just please don’t scare him again Y/n.
Yes he will take a nap with you. And if you shift into an animal he will happily stroke your fur. But only if you’re okay with that!
Lester Sinclair
—————
Oh this man gets so excited when you shift. Please take requests! Shift into his favorite animal!
If you shift into a dog and play with Jonesy then his heart will MELT. LOOK AT HIS TWO FAVORITE BEINGS PLAYING TOGETHER 🥺💕
It’s at least five times a day he gushes about how cool you are to his brothers.
“And today while we were on a little walk they turned into a bird! A bird, Bo! And they flew up and got me a cool looking leaf! Ooh! Also they-!” “Jesus fucking christ Lester I get it!”
Because of your ability to turn onto animals he doesn’t like you seeing road kill. It just feels wrong to him. So he takes care of all the road kill on the road before you see it!
Please please please let him pet you! Just once please!
Bo Sinclair
—————
“What. The. Fuck.” Bo said as he watched Jonesy pad up to him in his garage. With another dog…
He would be so clueless as to why there was another dog, it would be hard for you not to immediately shift back and burst out laughing. So instead you jump on top of him, knocking him onto his back and licking a stripe up his face.
He would push you off (not aggressively. Bo is a murderer. Not a monster with animals) and wipe his face. And when he looked back up he was very confused as to why he was seeing you, sitting on your ass in front of him.
“Where’d the dog go?” And you’d just mischievously giggle before turning back into the dog and rubbing away with Jonesy.
Man. Was. Speechless.
You have a lot of explaining to do when he finds you.
And you do explain! Bo wouldn’t believe you if he hadn’t seen what happened in that garage. He is extremely confused but it doesn’t change his opinion on you! You’re his everything and whatever this thing you can do is isn’t going to piss him off… unless you steal his hat. Which, yes, you have done.
Vincent Sinclair
—————
You sir Vincent down one day and explain your ability to him. You thought it would be better to do that then to scare him and have him unknowingly turn you into a wax figure.
He would listen carefully, nodding along, asking a few questions here and there. Then finally you show him.
You shifted into a bunny and sat on his lap. His body stiffened, unsure of what to do. But then you nudged your head into his hand, and he got the message.
He lightly stroked your soft brown fur. It seemed to calm him down? Maybe you should have shown him this a while ago.
And so now whenever Vincent is stressed, upset, or overall just needs some comfort, you will first offer him comfort as a human. But sometimes he just needs a break from humans. So then that’s when you shift into an animal and snuggle up on his chest, allowing him to stroke/pet you.
And of course he will make art of you. He’s always loved to make art of animals, and now he can have a reference up close that won’t kill him!
Bo did freak out however when he saw his twin snuggling with a lion on the couch one day though-
Brahms Heelshire
—————
Your ability is actually what caused you to meet the real Brahms.
You were finished with all your duties and decided fuck it, let’s explore the walls.
You saw an opening in the kitchen and shifted into a small mouse. You crawled around the walls for a while, until you came across a man with a mask.
You of course freaked out. Why the fuck is there a man here! WHO ARE YOU?!
So you turned back into a human and screamed at him, hitting him with your hands. But then the person spoke. And he said your name…
And that was how you and real Brahms met!
Brahms made a new rule. ‘No shape shifting in the house!’ This then also changed the rule of Brahms not being aloud out of the house. Because he wanted to watch you do your thing outside!
The only exception to the rule is if he wants cuddles. And that needy little brat wants them a lot.
And if you do break the rule when he doesn’t say you can just shift into a dove! They are his favorite animal and he will instantly forget why he was frustrated with you :)
Jason Vorhees
—————
It would be best to tell him of your ability before hand. When it’s not summertime he sets up traps around the camp to keep trespassers out. And you wouldn’t want to accidentally step on one!
So you did tell him and he thinks it’s super cool! Now he doesn’t feel quite as bad for being a zombie basically. Because hey! You’re special like him!
He still sets up traps but he makes sure to tell and show you where they are.
Sometimes you help him out by turning into a bird and flying above the camp to look for visitors. He likes this very much because then you aren’t in harms way. People can be very dangerous Y/n!
He knows how to take a joke so if you prank him he won’t be mad :) in fact he will probably get you back by sneaking up on you because that man may be huge af (AWOOGA) but GEEZ HE IS QUIET
Tiffany Valentine
—————
“So yeah I can turn into animals!” “…what about bugs?”
Yeah animals are cool and all Y/n, but bugs? Please shift into some bugs. You will make her squeal in delight.
Her trailer can get pretty toasty inside, so you shift into a reptile!
When you do that she loves to have you sit/lay on her shoulder as she reads.
Some girls have purse dogs. Tiffany has a badass s/o that can turn into a Doberman and scare off anyone that comes to close to her.
Okay but also just imagine like doll Chucky is in the trailer and he pisses off Tiff, so she just tosses him to you and lets you use him as a chew toy.
“TIFF! GET THEM TO STOP! RIGHT FUCKING NOW!”
“Awww but Chucky they’re having so much fun! Aren’t you cutie! Aren’t youuu!”
“GOD DAMN IT QUIT GUSHING OVER THEM AND HELP ME!”

surprise
softwilly x gn!reader (sfw) summary: nick comes home a day early from his business trip and surprises you. a little bit of "missing my bf" angst requested?: no
Tumblr media
Life without the boys around the house was hard. It was a planned thing, so you knew well in advance, but it still sucked one way or another. You lived with Nick, your boyfriend, and his content creator friends in their group house in Austin. It was a hard adjustment from when you moved with Nick from his hometown in New Jersey, but a welcome one. You got to become close friends with each and every member of the household, loving your new roommates.
However, they'd leave about once a month. Conventions, sponsored trips, or just business calls that required them all to fly out across the country. No matter what it was, you were always left alone in that big house. You didn't mind the peace and quiet, but you truly just missed the comfort and company all the boys gave you, especially Nick.
They were out for a week, this time. In Los Angeles, a brand needed them to come out and do a business meeting to coordinate a new sponsorship. It was nothing new to you. Nick told you two weeks ahead of time, and when it came down to them driving out to the airport, you wistfully waved your goodbyes.
The week was spent inside, mostly. You had a computer in the guest room you'd play games on most of the day, stopping to use their little home gym setup in the garage for a brief workout, then you'd retire to Nick's room and sleep in his bed, in his clothes. It was the most you could do to not break down at the concept of him not being around.
Luckily, the air conditioning was just fixed, so you barely escaped the June heat. It beat down on the house hard, and was one of the main reasons you never escaped it. Only occasionally would you leave the house to go pick up food, a coffee, or maybe a trip to the swimming pool. Other than that, the house was your refuge.
By day six, you were worn down. It was hard to stay focused on any individual task and you found yourself laying in Nick's bed on your phone for hours in the morning. The hoodie you wore was losing Nick's smell, but you couldn't be bothered to change. It took a lot out of you even to take a shower the night before, but you managed it.
By the early afternoon you just sat on the couch in the living room catching up on an anime Nick had told you about. Things felt excessively dull and you could tune out your worries with a show in the background. The clock was about to strike four when suddenly, you heard keys in the door.
You whipped around to see the doorknob turning, the door opening as you tried to scramble to your feet. An intruder? A house of this size could merit it, but they had the key. All your questions melted away as soon as you watched a familiar man step inside.
Black hair, slightly grown out, in a tank top with a tattoo up his arm. Pierced ears and a big smile on his face as soon as he saw you. Nick. You flew into his arms.
"What the hell are you doing here?" You said, laughing out of sheer amazement.
"I came home a day early to see you!" Nick giddily responded, hugging you back tightly.
"Why? Don't you have to do a photo shoot today?" You broke from the hug and met his eyes.
Nick shrugged. "I stayed late yesterday to do the photos so I could fly out early. Are you watching Demon Slayer?"
You nodded. "Of course I am. You told me to watch it, right?"
"Yes the hell I did. Want me to order some food and get you caught up?"
"This is why I love you, Nick. Yes, a thousand times yes." You smiled and pressed a kiss to his lips.
You walked back to your blanket on the couch, slipping under it as your boyfriend pulled out his phone and ordered some food on DoorDash. He asked you what you wanted, and worked around your vague indecision. It wasn't long before he slipped on the other side of the couch with a blanket of his own, resuming your show. Of course, Nick had to make a few comments on where you were in the show and the things "you'd like".
Your food arrived not long after and the two of you spent the rest of the day watching shows. You were finally caught up, so you were satisfied with that day's work. Nick had to pull you up from the couch, walking together back to his room.
The two of you spent about an hour laying on Nick's bed catching up about the last week. He informed you the flight back to Austin would be around ten in the morning for the rest of the group, so you wouldn't see them until around one or two at the earliest, with the complications of airports and flight times.
Sleep came easy in Nick's arms that night. You yearned for his embrace for almost an entire week, and it coming early couldn't have made for a better night's sleep. You could die happy. You could spend all your days like that, in his arms and protected from the rest of the world. He was your everything.
The next day, you woke up cold. Nick wasn't next to you, and you frowned at the idea that he was gone. You were then greeted by another pleasant surprise of pancakes as you walked into the kitchen, your boyfriend giving you a wide grin, proud of his work. They were delicious.
It was a morning of shows, watching YouTube videos, and waiting for your roommates to arrive. It didn't take long for them to, around 2:25 they blundered into the house with carry-on bags galore. You assisted a few of them getting their things situated in their rooms, while Nick handled the few you didn't.
You carried Isaac's bag into his room, the last of the bunch you'd have to worry about. He had a suitcase in hand, but it didn't phase him. He was far too big and strong, for your standards.
"You didn't have to carry that," Isaac mentioned on your way to his room.
"Then why'd you ask me to?" Your eyebrows furrowed, "If you're so strong that you didn't need my help."
"The strong part is true, I'll give you that, but I thought I'd get a second away to talk."
"Oh. What is it?"
"Nick, he flew out early to see you." Isaac pursed his lips, clearly considering what his next words would hold. "I've never seen him so.. head over heels for someone, I guess. I've known him for years, and in the year you've been together, I've never seen him happier. Leaving us early to go be with you just solidified that fact in my head."
This shouldn't have shocked you, realistically, but it did. You'd known Nick for three years, but being with him blinded you to how he'd changed over the last year. To Isaac, he was outside looking in.
"Thanks for telling me that. I'd never thought about it in that way, I guess. I love him a lot. He does so much for me. Never in a million years did I think I'd be dating the guy I had a fat crush on in high school, living in a mansion in Texas." You explained.
"He truly loves you, too. He'd go to the ends of the earth for you, if it meant being together another five minutes, I'd say. Thanks for making my best friend happy, man."
You hugged Isaac briefly. "No problem. Anytime."

im just so obsessed with dad pedro rn😓😓😓
AN: Fuck it girl dad Pedro. This genuinely made me weak in the knees. (I'm PMSing and the baby fever is insane and ???? do I need any excuses really?? For dad!Pedro??)
“Papa, hold your hands like this.” Your daughter barked orders at her father, pulling him down to her level and molding his hands into a position she could work with.
Pedro sat crisscross on the floor, your daughter across from him rummaging through a giant bag of nail polish and small stickers. It hadn't taken much convincing to get Pedro to sit for her, let her use him as a canvas, but she was far too stubborn to ever throw away any of the dry, crusty bottles of polish in the deep bag.
“What color, mija?” Pedro hummed and watched her continue to toss the small bottles over the carpet, looking for the ideal shade. She let out a triumphant huff before pulling out a bottle of purple sparkly nail polish, placing it on the floor in front of her father as if asking for approval.
“This is the one we’re using.” She nodded, before quickly reaching her small hand back out for the bottle, satisfied with Pedro’s smile at her as a form of assent.
When you had found out you were pregnant, Pedro didn’t let you do a thing on your own. He went to every doctor’s appointment with you, did all the chores you had planned for yourself—he cancelled every audition, every screentest, just to stay home with you, to rub your feet at the end of your long day of doing nothing. (“You aren’t doing nothing,” he had fussed every time you said it, “You’re growing a little baby! Inside of you!”) Pedro was gentle with you, and with her, and kind, and ever so patient; always willing to model for a fashion show, always willing to watch her school choir performances, always thrilled at the prospect of having breakfast for dinner with her. It was as if he knew from the moment you announced your pregnancy that she would be a daddy’s girl, and the love he had for you multiplied to include her immediately.
Watching them now, from the couch, going back and forth about what animals they might see at the zoo later today, your daughter occasionally reprimanding Pedro for moving, him turning to smile at you where you sat on the sofa, eyes glistening with pride at the tiny person the two of you had created, your heart swelled.
He was such a good husband. Such a good father.
“Let them dry now, papa.” Your daughter stood up, brushing her hands on her capris as if she had just finished a long day of manual labor. “Mama,” she made her way to you, both hands planted on your knees leaning into you before collapsing onto her knees and wrapping her hands around your legs, head buried in your lap, “look at what I did to papa’s nails!” She squealed and her giggle was muffled by the denim of your jeans.
“Beautiful, sweetheart. You did such a good job!” You reached down to lift her up, letting her clamber into your lap, “He’s never looked better.”
“Hey!” Pedro laughed, spreading himself out on the floor, laying his head next to the bag of nail polish.
She leaned in then to whisper to you, her small voice somehow carrying more loudly when she attempted to be sly; “Can I use your makeup to make papa pretty?” Pedro smiled up at you, anticipating your answer.
“Yes,” you quasi-whispered back, “but only the makeup in the top drawer.” It was all she needed to hear, practically leaping off of your lap and bounding to the main bedroom to root through your drawers.
“You can borrow my nail polish remover, if you’d like.” You watched Pedro get up, wiping the palms of his hands on his knees before moving to enfold you in his arms where you sat on the couch.
That’s where she got it.
“No way,” he peppered your face with kisses before dipping down to capture your lips with his own, smiling into the kiss in a show of how pleased he was with you, with your daughter, with his nails. “Want everybody at the zoo to see my new look, querida.”

Okey, late to the party, but here we are. Please excuse my long ramblings.
When they first announced that they're bringing David Tennant back for the 60th anniversary specials in 2022, I almost fainted. This was a dream come true for a girl that has been obsessed with Doctor Who since the Nuwho run started. And as much as I love all the other actors who have played the Doctor and their takes on the roll, David was and will always be the one Doctor for me.
So when they announced the airing of the specials, I decided to only watch them, once I have watched through all of other episodes.
First of all, I really love Doctor Who and am always glad to have an excuse to start from the beginning. And i hadn't done that in a few years, so what better time than now?
Second of all, at some point during the later Capaldi run I sorta got a bit burned out of the show. At that time, it just didn't click with me and the 12th Doctor (by now I have gladly overcome that block) and I stopped.
So obivously I had quite a bit to catch up with. And since I have a job now and can't just continuously watch 12h of DW a day, it took me a while to finish everything.
Yesterday evening, I arrived at that point. I watched the last episode of the 13th Doctor. I saw the regeneration. I saw David Tennant being back as the Doctor. I had finally arrived at this point. I could see the specials! And I felt a feeling of dread coming up inside me. There were only 3 episodes with him. Only 3. I had to cherish them. You can only watch something for the first time once. Then it's over. And then I cried. And then I stopped. And then I went to bed.
And I woke up today and sat down on my couch with a cup of coffee and put on The Star Beast.
And, Oh. My. God. I love it.
And then the Intro started playing and I heard the music that's reminiscing the old themes from the 10th Doctor and the beautiful animation. I started crying again. It was perfection.
And then the story started and it was just so nostalgic and melancholic and so filled with love in the writing and the acting and the overall design of everything. Sure, there were some points in the episode where I went "yeah, this could've come out better", but overall, I could've not wished for anything else.
So here I am now, sitting on my couch, grinning like an idiot. And feeling so happy. I'm still crying, btw. But not tears of sadness, tears of joy. I love it. I just love it. And I want to continue watching the other specials. But I will wait, and process this. Make it last as long as possible. Because you can only watch something for the first time once. So I will make it count.

Wild Heart
Chapter Three
A Twilight - Paul Lahote Fanfiction
Tumblr media
PREVIOUS CHAPTER
*Short summary for my antsy gals: this absolute babe with childhood trauma, no real family and a passion for animals goes to live in the woods outside of La Push beach for her job that’s she’s deemed is necessary to find her way in life, and guess who’s not happy she’s there because now they have to worry about this human who’s put herself smack in the middle of bloodsucker city, where they have an instinctual obligation to protect her. And guess who’s even more angry that he suddenly feels an undying and relentless, fiery need to be with her all the time? Angst, tension, passion, anger, love, jealousy, perhaps even some betrayal? This story’s got it all babes (yes, even the smut) - it’s just one of those slow burn, then-suddenly-everything-is-fuckin-crazy-and-the-angst-is-unreal fics, you know? stay tuned ;)
A/N: awww shit we got the Jacob POV with this one! Sorry this took a while! I’m feeling super excited about the story and antsy to get into it. Hope you enjoy!!! PS, tagging all the wonderful lil babies that liked chapter one and two! You guys motivated me to get this one done :’) more to come shortly
CHAPTER THREE
Jacob Black’s POV:
“I don’t know, dude, but she’s out there,” I muttered under my breath, whittling away vigorously at the piece of wood I was working on with my knife. Jared scoffed, lounging on Emily and Sam’s couch across the room, gnawing on some chicken wings that Embry had brought over.
“Yeah, okay, I’m sure she was just a hiker, Jake. Teenagers from the Rez go out there all the time lookin’ for trouble, you know that,” he responded, not seeming to be truly allowing his full attention to fall on the conversation. I raised my eyes from my wood carving to glare at him from where I sat on the wooden steps.
“I do know that, Jared,” My voice came out as a sneer now, “That’s exactly why I’m saying this is different.”
Jared didn’t notice my eyes on him, and shrugged casually as he continued to pull chicken off a thigh bone with his teeth, his eyes more focused on the hockey game playing on the television than on my concerns. His face was looking extra punchable today, and I knew I’d have to reel in my annoyance for him if I wanted to be taken seriously by the pack with this one. Seth strode in from the back porch now, the screen door into the living room having allowed him to hear our bickering. He slid the screen closed behind him and shot me an interested look.
“I believe you, Jake. We just all gotta go out there and see what’s goin on.”
Ugh. Seth was always backing me up, and it made me even more irritable. Even though he was 22 now, he still felt a lot like a little brother to me, although I’d started to really respect him as a member of the pack; he did really pull his weight. I shrugged now, turning my attention back to the wood in my hand that was starting to slowly take the shape of a full-bodied wolf. I knew I’d have to wait until Sam and Paul came back from their trip to Canada before the issue would be addressed seriously. Even my own father wasn’t showing the concern I thought was necessary.
A week before, a twenty-something, obviously totally clueless girl had moved into the old lookout shelter smack in the middle of the Olympic Forest. Right where the pack had full territory protection orders, conveniently enough. The shelter hadn’t been used in over 5 years, and now suddenly the State of Washington has deemed it necessary for this girl to be out there doing, what exactly - birdwatching? It was ridiculous. On my patrol a few days before, I’d decided to stay quiet and watch her from afar for a while, as I’d been keeping an eye on her since I noticed her arrive days before. I seriously watched that girl walk around the forest for hours, looking through her binoculars and scribbling in her little notebook. I got so bored I almost fell asleep, my head resting on the ground between my paws and the occasional sound of the girl’s whispered ‘wow’s and ‘look at you, you are a beauty!’s lulling my tired brain. She often stayed in one area of the woods for hours, and I didn’t have to move around much to avoid her detecting my massive form behind the falls ferns and trees.
I just didn’t understand why anyone would do that to themselves. I mean, if anyone understood the beauty of the forests around La Push, it was me, but subjecting yourself to living in that little cabin for who knows how long? This girl must be certifiably insane - or at least very weird and antisocial, I thought. The boys and I had seen the empty cabin loads of times, it being pretty much smack in the middle of the pack’s territory. It was every so often that young, drunk teenagers stumbled across the chained-off shelter late at night and warranted us to do a little intervening, scaring them off by growling or shuffling deep from the darkness. It worked like a charm, every damn time. We couldn’t have people, nonetheless some random kids, partying out in the middle of the woods like a buffet for the bloodsuckers. It was our job to make sure anyone on our land was safe. And that’s exactly why this girl was putting a bit of a kink in our system.
I remembered the night I first saw her. The lights had been on, smoke escaping from the cabin’s chimney for the first time in years, and I had practically sprinted home to tell the rest of the pack. I had been the only one out doing patrol recently; Sam and Paul had gone as the pack ambassadors to Northern Canada, in their human forms, to visit another group that had reached out in efforts to understand more about our kind. It seemed the Quileutes weren’t the only shifters around. It was great and all, sure, but it left me as the stand-in Alpha while they were away, and the boys didn’t necessarily fear me as much as they did Sam, what with them being my best friends.
“Ah, right, that girl… the one with the Bronco, from the grocery store,” my dad Billy had said casually a week before, when I had brought up to him the severity of my concerns after first seeing her and having my worries be promptly brushed off by Embry and Jared pretty quickly. There hadn’t been a bloodsucker around these parts in quite a while. The Cullens were away, somewhere in Europe, for the past few months, and the pack had seemed to get a bit too comfortable with the lack of constant vampire threats.
I stared up at my dad in confusion, my mouth slightly open in surprise that he seemed to immediately know who I was talking about. All I’d said was that I saw someone was in the lookout shelter, lights on and wood burning stove cranking, and that we needed to figure out who the hell was trespassing and kick them out.
Billy looked up briefly from his newspaper and coffee to meet my eyes nonchalantly.
“Who?” I asked incredulously.
He chuckled lightly, shaking his head and straightening his newspaper out to read it again. “Jacob, the lookout is State property. Sometimes they send in a scientist or two to do some research on endangered species and whatnot for a year or so. They’ve done it lots of times. She’s not the first,” He said casually while eyeing the newspaper. My mouth gaped at him now. How was he taking this so lightly? “Wh-first of all, how do you even know about this girl? Second- she’ll be out there a year?!” My voice was louder, his nonchalance starting to irk me. Billy had sighed then, setting the newspaper down on the table. “I saw her when we got groceries earlier today. She dropped something from her wallet and I yelled out to let her know. I asked her what she was doing in these parts, and she told me she moved here for her job. Wildlife biologist. Tell me, son, you see any other places that a wildlife biologist would work in La Push? I figured that’s where she’d be going, right when she told me. Now, obviously it’s not ideal that she’s out there but, well… I mean, she’s doing it for a good cause.” I stared at him in disbelief, shaking my head and my eyes bugging. His careless demeanor towards the issue was making me feel like I was about to implode, my temperature rising and the wolf inside me eager as ever to let my anger take hold. “Yeah, not ideal is a bit of an understatement. Ha! She’s bloodsucker bait out there. She won’t even last a month, just watch. Either we’ll scare her off, or the leeches will come for her,” I seethed, crossing my arms and putting my feet up on the coffee table in front of the couch. I stared across the room at the wall. Billy’s eyes burned into me from my peripheral, and I heard him grumble under his breath before he curtly responded, ”Jacob. It’s your job to keep her safe now. That is not an option. That is the responsibility and obligation that runs through your veins,” he hesitated briefly, “And I won’t hear about you trying to scare her. I won’t.”
My brows furrowed, and I kept my arms crossed in defiance, although I knew I couldn’t argue with him. He was right. But, it was still worth a shot trying to get her to leave.
That was a week ago now, and with Paul and Sam still gone for the next week, I knew I’d have to figure something out myself. I was the Alpha for the time being, after all. I stood up from the step, folding my knife, stuffing it into my back pocket and carefully slipping my incomplete wolf carving into its velvet pouch for safe keeping.
“You guys have fun. I’m going back out there,” I grumbled, taking the extra moment to flick the side of Jared’s head on my way out the back door. He yelped and grimaced, holding his head dramatically and rubbing the place where my middle finger had made contact. Seth stifled a laugh from the recliner in the corner, and Jared shot him a look before flinging a chicken bone at his head, which Seth dodged gracefully. I hid my smile as I strode out across the back porch, bracing myself with my right arm and slinging my legs over the waist high fence to land on the other side with ease. I breathed deeply, feeling the last bit of direct sunshine the day had to offer touch my skin. I had honestly been enjoying this smaller pack experience. With Sam gone, and me calling the shots, I had a lot more solo-shifting time. Being in my wolf, all by myself and without the constant obnoxious chatter of the boys in my head, was truly peaceful. I stood behind the porch and glanced around me once before pulling my pants to the ground. I shook them off and tied them around one of my ankles, my typical way of ensuring I had clothes to put on when I shifted back into my human form later. I let my body begin to tremble and burn and tear as I pushed through my current peace and urged it to become strength. Shifting on command was now something my body had gotten quite used to, and I felt natural doing it. I was grateful that I no longer had to be seething with rage or worry in order for my body to morph, painfully and violently, into its massive canine form. This was much more convenient.
I made a point to check the entirety of the perimeter first, possibly trying to convince myself that this foolish girl wasn’t the only reason I was out there so early. I ran for miles, keeping my senses honed in and my body at a steady pace. I was leaving checking on her for last, the little cabin tucked deep into the woods on our land and about a mile in from our southernmost territorial boundary line. Suddenly, a thought broke through my quite peace.
~Jake, we’re all down by First Beach for a fire, you should swing by and take a break~
Seth’s voice was soft. He knew when I was in the zone, and had been barked at for being a nuisance many times, so I could sense his hesitation with the invite. Surprisingly, I was eager to take a break before checking out the lookout shelter. I hadn’t realized it, or maybe hadn’t even wanted to acknowledge it before, but I was a little nervous. I didn’t know what it was about this girl, but her comfort within the forest threw me off. I wasn’t used to seeing outsiders look so at home in what I felt was my home.
~Sure, sure, I’ll be there~
Seth’s presence quickly disappeared again with my response, and I began my sprint through the forest down to the beach. Within minutes I was gliding through the trees, aiming for the spot where the boys and I typically met up. I stopped when I came to the tree-line, and could see the fuzzy outline of the reservation’s only restaurant, Riverside, through the trees. I felt my body shimmer and shake as I shifted back to my two legged body, bending at the waist and moving from side to side to crack my tired back and neck as I adjusted. I untied my sweatpants from my ankle and pulled them back on, swiping my hand quickly through my hair to make myself presentable and avoid attracting too much unwanted looks from tourists on the beach. Although, being six foot five and shirtless usually prevented that from being avoidable. I made my way through the remaining patch of trees until they broke apart and revealed the stretch of dirt road that went from the restaurant down to the beach. Seth, Embry and Quil were standing in a huddle off to the side of the small building. Seth and Embry turned at the sound of my footsteps, a greeting, howl-like call coming from Embry’s mouth. I chuckled and returned the sound, coming up to them and returning his waiting fist bump. Quil nudged my arm, narrowing his eyes and lowering his tone to speak in a playful inflection, “Yo, think I saw that girl you’re so hung up on down at the beach, man.”
I felt my cheeks warm, and I immediately felt anger at the odd sensation. I knew Quil was just trying to fuck with me. ‘That girl you’re so hung up on’ as if I gave a crap what she was up to. I just didn’t want to have to deal with the inconvenience of another innocent human to have to protect for no good reason other than she wants to watch some birds. I punched his arm, hard enough for that shitty grin of his to be wiped off of his face.
“Yeah? D’ya tell her to get the hell out of here?” I responded with a sarcastic smile.
Embry rolled his eyes, looking at me straight on. Embry was never intimidated by me, even when Sam appointed me the stand-in alpha, even when I was the only one of us besides Paul that could easily overpower any of the others in the pack.
“Jake, relax. Girl looks like she knows her way around a trail, I don’t think it’s a big deal.” Embry’s voice was steady.
I raised my eyebrows, smirking at his consistently naive kindness.
“Yeah, Embry? You ready to keep watch and make sure she doesn’t become leech bait for the next year?”
Embry’s face faltered, his eyebrows pulling together in confusion, “A year? Why would she be here a whole year?”
I nodded, a grim smile on my face, happy the boys were finally getting it. “A year. Billy says that’s what the State does, hires biologists or whatever to come down here to study the animals and shit. I guess that’s how long the job is.”
Seth seemed interested now, his own usually neutral position seeming to falter as well.
“Oh damn, that is kinda…not ideal… I wonder if-,” Seth paused mid sentence, his eyes catching something behind me. I waited for him to continue, and when he didn’t, I turned to see what had caught his attention. Walking toward the restaurant -and toward us- a small red backpack strewn over her shoulder and light brown, caramel hair that escaped its long braid in small wispy sections around her face to whip across her cheeks with the slight salty breeze, was a girl. The elusive forest girl. There she was. The current thorn in my side that was causing more issues than she could even dream of understanding. I hadn’t seen her this up close yet. She looked to be around our age, early twenties, and she was a bit taller than a lot of the girls I’d seen around town. She had long, graceful legs that carried her with purposeful and lengthy strides. Her feet were clad in brown hiking boots, dirty and currently covered with sand. In the brief moment we had stopped our conversation to look in her direction, she had glanced down at the ground, seemingly avoiding our intense stares. The silence carried on until she opened the door to the restaurant, stepping inside and closing the door behind her.
I turned back to the boys, and Seth’s eyes were still on the door. I snapped my finger in his face, calling his attention back. He blinked, staring at me. Then, he looked down at the ground, shuffling his feet around on the dirt and finding a random rock to be apparently quite interesting.
“I mean, if that’s the girl living in our woods- I think it’s, uh… I think that’s just fine,” Seth mumbled with a light shrug, a playful smirk pulling up onto his lips as he shot a narrow glance at Quil from the corner of his eye. Quil snorted, earning another shoulder punch from me. “Yeah, yeah. Get your asses down to the beach, let’s go,” I instructed, turning my body away from the restaurant and directing the group of us towards the treeline. They obliged, starting a new conversation amongst themselves as I trailed behind. Before we entered the trees to make our way down to the beach, I risked one brief glance over my left shoulder, and regretted it instantly when I made direct eye contact with her through the glass pane of the front window of the restaurant. My eyes shot back forward immediately, but I continued to see her face in my mind for a moment. She had been looking at me. Her expression was… intrigued? No, that wasn’t it, maybe nervous? Good. I didn’t want her getting comfortable here.
Two Hours Later
“All I’m saying is, she’s hot,” Quil had his hands up defensively in front of him, palms facing outward, “sue me, Jake. A hot girl is living in our woods and I’m not mad about it.”
I glared at him from across the large driftwood fire the four of us sat around on First Beach, the sun just starting to come down across the horizon.
“And all I’m saying is, you’re lucky you’re sitting all the way over there, Quil,” I mumbled back, turning my gaze downward to continue to play with a stick in the sand, stabbing it down and feeling the satisfying crunch of the beach beneath it.
“Lighten up, Jake. You’re gonna go prematurely grey with all this worrying you’re doing,” Embry joked, chewing on some Swedish Fish he’d pulled out from his back pocket. My eyes flickered up to his face, and he slowed his chewing when he saw whatever expression was on mine.
“This isn’t something he, or any of us, should be joking about. Just because the bloodsuckers haven’t come through in a while doesn’t mean they’re not out there. They’re always out there. And this girl has just decided to settle down right smack in the middle of the damn woods. You guys don’t see anything that could go wrong there?”
Seth shrugged halfheartedly, “Honestly, no…Not with us around.”
I rolled my eyes, but slumped my shoulders back down in defeat. “Whatever, I’m going back,” I muttered, throwing the stick I’d been fumbling with down into the flames of the bonfire as I pulled myself to my feet. I heard the mumbles of complaint and opposition come from the three of them, but decided I wasn’t in the mood for more petty arguing and defending of my side, and kept a steady pace over to the tree-line bordering the beach until I was well into the cover of the dark greenery. I walked further, trying to allow the cold air of the forest to bite into my skin and clear my head. The sunlight was almost completely gone now, and I was eager to get back into my wolf form, the idea of not having to communicate with the rest of the pack looking like a luxury at this point. I was always able to sink effortlessly into the instinctual, primal rhythm that came along with shifting. It was a quiet place where my human emotions and worries weren’t as clear and sharp. It allowed escape. As I bent to pull my sweatpants down, a distant light flickered across my vision. I stood back up straight, my pants coming back up to my hips, and narrowed my eyes to peer through the trees. A bobbing flashlight was moving through the black trees ahead, probably around 40 yards away. My vision was much better than the average human’s due to the altered DNA I possessed, and my senses of smell and hearing were almost as good as they were in my wolf form. I knew almost immediately that it was her. I felt a smirk pull up a corner of my mouth when I realized that she was making it far too easy, now. All I had to do was freak her out a bit, right? What woman wants to stay in the woods by herself when strange shirtless men are out and about? I started striding towards her, not fully knowing what I was doing or bothering to question myself up until the very moment she seemed to hear the crunching of my feet on the ground. She froze, and I could hear the terrified pumping of her heart in the silence. Maybe I wouldn’t even have to do much. Maybe this would be enough to scare her, to get her to pack her things and head back to wherever she came from. I continued to loudly trudge across the forest floor, trying to make myself sound even bigger than I already was. She suddenly reached behind her, grabbing some object from her backpack’s side, and then proceeded to yell. Or, I don’t think I could truly call it a yell. A loud whimper, perhaps.
“Hey, bear! H-hey bear!”
I almost laughed out loud. I stopped walking, stifling my chuckle and keeping my eyes on her trembling frame. I had to make myself known; I couldn’t let the poor girl believe that her pathetic attempt at keeping a bear away would’ve actually worked. I’d practically be doing her a disservice by going away now. Back to the strange man in the woods approach.
“Well, I’m not a bear, but if I was - don’t know that those sounds would do the trick.”
She reeled, gasping and throwing her flashlight to the ground in her panic. I rolled my eyes in the darkness. If I had been a bear, you’d be a goner by now, I wanted to say.
“Shit!” Her voice filled the silent forest, and I bit my bottom lip hard to keep the unimpressed laugh from escaping. I was right to try and get this girl to leave, she wouldn’t last a second around a vampire. Suddenly, the flashlight was back in her grasp and a blinding light was being pointed directly at my face.
“Jesus, wha-, fuck, can you shine that down?!” I practically yelled, throwing a hand up in front of my face and straining my eyes from the brightness. After a moment, the light was lowered quickly, hovering around my legs, and I let my hand fall back down. We locked eyes, her terrified gaze traveling up and down my body, resting finally on my face.
“H-…wha-who-,” she stammered out, then appeared to take a deep breath and began again, “Why are you following me?”
Now, I couldn’t hide my amusement. I felt a smile prick the corner of my mouth, and I watched as her expression became more filled with terror at the change in my expression. When I saw that, I realized it was possible that I was maybe scaring her a bit too much. I let my gaze soften and stifled back another chuckle, cocking my head towards her and letting my genuine interest in her ridiculous reasoning lead the way.
“Following you? You’re on my land, sweetheart,” I responded, my voice calm and steady, keeping my eyes locked on hers.

“did you start packing yet?” he nodded, handing her the blow dryer she let him borrow a month ago. “ah you suddenly found it, after a month.” she snatched it. “i already spent money on a new one.” he smiled. “i told you to wait.”

while everyone was taking turns dancing, she went to the bathroom, when she returned, wonbin was in her seat, “sit.” he patted the arm chair, with a smile, she rolled her eyes, sitting down, throwing her legs over his lap, watching the rest of them dance.
“maddie.” seunghan held the camera, pointing it at her. “hi.” she climbed off the couch, making her way over to the camera. “hello.” she bent down, looking into the camera. “your hair is all over the place.”
she frowned. “you just had to say something about it.” he smiled, nodding. “i’m gonna kill you.” she mouthed, standing back up. “the camera heard that.” she smiled. “don’t worry, he’s safe.” he scoffed. “i don’t feel safe.”
she found the camera in the corner, running over to it. “we’re back at it again.” she said. “back to dancing.” she huffed. “i’m so tired.” sohee came up behind her, dragging her to her spot.

Lovelorien
This is my humble participation for HaladrielWeek day 3
Thank you @somebirdortheother for giving me this idea <3
Word count: 800
Tags: Alternate Universe: Modern, Online Dating
Summary: Galadriel is tired and bored. She goes on a dating app.
Tumblr media
It was about 6 pm on a Wednesday when Galadriel finally peeled herself out of bed. Damned 72-hour shifts. If there was one thing she hated about her life as a paramedic, it was the fucked up working hours. She sat for a moment and stared blankly at the wall, trying to decide whether she would shower first or eat first. It was definitely "eat" first, since she would have to wash her hair and right now, she was too hungry for that.
Galadriel walked out of her bedroom and into the kitchen, almost tripping over her cat in the process. “Sorry Elrond”, she muttered, and stumbled towards the fridge. “Please don’t be empty, please don’t be empty”, she silently prayed before opening it. Success. A bag of shredded cheese and some ketchup. Triumphantly, Galadriel cut up some potatoes and put them in her air fryer. She loved that thing so much.
She sat down on the cold kitchen floor and took out her phone. The news was depressing as always, and after about five minutes of doom scrolling, Galadriel got bored. Back to online dating it was. Lovelorien was all the rage with people who loved animals, and Galadriel always knew that if she could ever fall in love, it would be with a fellow animal lover.
Halbrand’s profile stood out to her immediately. He was wearing a firefighter uniform and holding a tiny little black cat. “Ask me about Mairon, his bio said. Fuck it. She swiped right. It was a match. At that moment the alarm of the air fryer went off and Galadriel got up to toss some cheese over her potatoes. Two more minutes now, she knew this appliance inside out. Elrond suddenly appeared in the kitchen and rubbed his head on her legs. “Gotta pay the cheese tax”, Galadriel chuckled, and fed Elrond some cheese.
Elrond went back to sleep, and Galadriel sat down to have Breakfast/Dinner. She got out her phone while eating, and saw that she got a message from Halbrand.
H: If you were a vegetable, you would certainly be a sweet potato ;)
G: Fitting, I’m having potatoes for breakfast right now :)
H: Breakfast? It is 6 pm, when did you go to sleep?
G: At about 10 am. I’m a paramedic, had a long shift.
Halbrand is typing…
Galadriel put her phone back away and put the dishes in the sink. That was a problem for later. She changed her linens, tossed all her dirty clothes into the washing machine and jumped under the shower. Today felt like a full beauty routine shower. She even shaved her legs. Galadriel emerged a full hour later, put on her coziest clothes, and flopped down on the couch. The blinking of a green light on her phone told her she had a new message. It was from Halbrand.
H: A paramedic, that is good, because I think my heart just stopped ;)
Galadriel rolled her eyes. Some days she was really asking herself why she ever downloaded Lovelorien in the first place.
G: Good thing you’re a firefighter. I might need help getting down from a tree sometime, I love climbing tall things when I’m drunk.
H: You are very lucky indeed then, I excel at getting adorable tiny things out of trees ;). And if you want to be safe… I’m 6’3, you can climb me anytime you want ;)
Galadriel tossed her phone to the other side of the sofa and stared blankly at the ceiling before chasing after it to text him back.
G: So I gotta ask you obviously, who’s Mairon?
H: Mairon is this adorable little fluffy kitten I rescued from a tree a month ago. I adopted him :) What kind of pet do you have?
Galadriel sent Halbrand a picture of Elrond, who was napping on the sofa next to her.
G: This is Elrond, he just demanded the cheese tax and went back to sleep
Halbrand responded with a series of the usual fuckboy emojis.
Galadriel directed her attention back at the TV show she was watching, but she couldn’t stop thinking about him for some reason. That firefighter uniform did things to her. She opened her phone as soon as she got the notification.
H: Do you wanna hang out sometime?
G: I barely even know you. You could be evil for all I know. Is Halbrand even your real name?
H: I have many names, you can call me whatever you want babe. And you may not know me yet, but one day, I could make you my queen.
And in that moment Galadriel knew that she had to meet him. It had been decided, and the tides of fate were flowing.
Tumblr media
Notes: I really wanted to make this longer and maybe a bit spicy, but I just wasn't feeling it this past week. The inspiration behind Galadriel is tired exam week me *looks over at air fryer* I love this thing so much. Also yes I made Elrond a cat. Try to stop me.

If Found, Please Burn- Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Daya helps Jasmine with babysitting, and then they have a talk about their friendship after Delia goes to bed.
Thank you @imtooobsessedrn for proofreading this chapter. Also small Wedding Planner AU cameo in this!!
Read on ao3
Dear Daya,
First off, fuck you.
I’m way too pissed off to write about you. You locked me out during a fucking storm at the beach house, as a stupid joke. I barely even want to think about you right now, it’s just going to make me more pissed off about last night.
I bet you didn’t even know that I’m terrified of thunderstorms. Or if you did know, it’s a joke to you.
Anetra brought Delia here this morning since she wanted to see me and Kerri, and I need a distraction. So Dee and I are going to the beach to play princesses and collect some seashells. Hopefully, you’ll be off my mind by the time we’re back.
Once again, fuck you,
Jasmine
Daya finished reading the letter on her phone, waiting for Jasmine to text her the address of the Colby’s house. Now she felt like an even bigger asshole.
She had no idea that Jasmine had a big fear of thunderstorms. Daya realized now why she looked so pissed off when she found a way back inside that night.
Also, Daya knows the one secret that Jasmine has kept guarded for two years. That made her feel like an even bigger asshole.
Daya felt her phone vibrate as she closed the photos app with an incoming text of an address a couple of miles away, followed by a few more messages.
Jasmine: They just left, so come over whenever.
Jasmine: Also, don’t park on the street.
Jasmine: The neighbors will immediately call the cops if they see that.
When Daya pulled into the driveway, she saw manicured nails and a pair of green eyes peeking through the blinds. Jasmine watched her as she got out of her truck and started walking up the driveway, but disappeared from the window.
Before Daya could raise her hand to knock, Jasmine pulled open the large wooden door for her. Daya stepped inside and started to take off her shoes as Jasmine looked at her up and down.
“What’s with the once-over?” Daya asked as they both stood in the foyer.
“Just making sure you’re dressed somewhat normal today. Some of your outfits might scare Dee.” Jasmine explained as she peeked around the wall to the living room. Daya heard the faint sounds of Austrailian accents from where she stood.
“How could I possibly scare a six-year-old who watches Bluey all day and collects seashells for her moms?”
“My point exactly.”Jasmine sighed as she led Daya into the living room.
Daya saw a young girl with long dark hair and bright green eyes sitting cross-legged on the couch with a stuffed yellow duck in her arms. Delia hummed along to the theme song as a new episode played, enthralled by the television.
“I brought a friend,” Jasmine cheerfully said as she sat on the other side of the couch and pointed to Daya. Daya found a place on one of the armchairs nearby as she settled into her seat.
Delia looked over at Daya in the chair, and her eyes widened slightly, “You’re one of Kerri’s friends, aren’t you?” She asked as she turned closer to look at Daya.
Daya nodded slowly, not used to talking with children “I am, but I’m also Jasmine’s friend too, you know.” She leaned slightly to look at the same eye level as Delia (as well as avoid eye contact with Jasmine).
The young girl immediately shook her head, “You aren’t Jasmine’s friend. I saw you two fight about that one singing show before Mama told me to stop staring at you two.” she said matter-of-factly before turning her attention back to the animated dogs on the television.
Daya and Jasmine looked over at each other across the room. Daya remembered that argument, it was a petty argument they had over what year Glee came out. Daya was certain that it premiered in 2008, while Jasmine was sure it was in 2010.
“We were both wrong,” Daya said out of the blue, looking back at Jasmine. Jasmine tilted her head in confusion as Daya continued, “Wrong about Glee, it came out in 2009. So we were both wrong that time.”
“That argument was months ago.” Jasmine pointed out.
“Right, but isn’t this turning over a new leaf?” Daya asked. They never actually talked about anything since Jasmine returned to LA, but this felt like a good starting point.
Jasmine thought for a moment, “Maybe we can talk about it after Delia goes to bed?” She suggested.
Daya was about to agree with Jasmine when the young girl between them spoke up, her attention away from the television.
“But I wanted to stay up with you, Jazzy!” Delia said, leaning closer to the copper-haired girl.
“If I don’t make sure you get your sleep, your mom is going to kill me,” Jasmine responded, glancing at the Colby family photo on the wall.
Daya followed Jasmine’s line of sight, “Anetra does seem like she would be more strict, now that you mention it.” she said.
“Anetra isn’t the strict parent in this house,” Jasmine quickly corrected while shaking her head.
Hours after the sun went down, Jasmine came out from the hallway bathroom, hair in Dutch braids and wearing a pink satin pajama set. In the dim lighting of the living room, her green eyes complimented her chestnut-colored hair.
Daya muted the television, now playing the local nightly news instead of the cartoon dogs it had been playing earlier. Moving to the far end of the couch, she sat cross-legged as she waited for Jasmine to sit next to her.
“She’s fast asleep, so we’ll be good until the morning,” Jasmine said as she settled into the other end of the couch. She folded her legs in front of her while facing Daya. Her hands loosely joined in the middle, gently holding herself as she looked at Daya.
They both looked at each other for a few moments before either of them spoke. Daya wasn’t sure if this was an awkward or comfortable silence.
“So...this is us turning a new leaf?” Jasmine asked, head resting on the back of the plush couch.
“I think that it was about time that we did so,” Daya said, finding that eye contact was the hardest thing to do now.
Jasmine took a deep breath, “Kerri mentioned that you started acting nice to me suddenly.” she said.
“Suddenly? What did she mean by that?” Daya tried to calm her voice but felt slightly worried when she mentioned Kerri.
“As soon as I got back to LA, she thinks you’ve been acting weird. You haven’t fought with me, then you complimented me, and you’re even helping me babysit.” Jasmine explained.
“And?” Daya asked.
“So why are you acting so nice to me? We’ve been fighting since the day we met. What’s with the change?” Jasmine asked, looking directly at Daya.
That was the question that Daya had been avoiding, especially from Jasmine. She had no idea how she would answer this, so she better put her high school improv skills to use.
Which wasn’t much, but it was all she had at this moment.
“I don’t know what started it, I guess. I think I just felt a little off after the weekend at the beach house.” Daya said.
“You mean when you locked me outside?” Jasmine said, her tone flat.
Daya gave a meek nod as she let Jasmine continue, “I think this is a good first step for us. I don’t think you have any ulterior motives like Kerri was worried about.” Her lips turned up slightly, and Daya saw a small glimmer of hope in her eyes.
Except that Daya has been holding Jasmine’s biggest secret for weeks. But what Jasmine doesn’t know won’t hurt her, right?
“What was your favorite part of the park from today?” Jasmine asked Delia as Daya walked by her side down the sidewalk the following afternoon. Delia rode her pink tricycle a few feet in front of them but still listened to the two adults behind her.
“I think when Daya was showing us the different flowers, and then the bee strung her on the finger.” the young girl said before giggling.
Jasmine couldn’t help but smile as well while Daya grumbled, “That wasn’t my favorite part at all.”, as the taller girl gently rubbed the string mark.
“I’ll find you some calamine lotion when we get back inside, you big baby.” Jasmine teased.
“Don’t make fun of me, I’m the injured one here,” Daya said as she showed off her bee sting like she was showing off an engagement ring. Both laughed as they reached the end of the block, looking for incoming traffic.
For the first time in the years that they had been friends, Daya felt calm around Jasmine. Usually, she felt slightly on edge, like she always expected to be in an argument with Jasmine. But since they talked it out the night before, Daya realized she was missing out on having Jasmine as an actual friend.
All the years of fighting and bickering didn’t seem as worthwhile as this feeling Daya gets around Jasmine now. It was a feeling she couldn’t exactly describe just yet.
Spotting a familiar SUV in the driveway, Delia started pedaling her tricycle faster, “Moms are home!” as Jasmine and Daya picked up their paces to keep up.
After a few minutes of putting away the tricycle and Delia pulling off her shoes, the two women followed Delia running into the rest of the house, in a search.
Soon, she turned into the kitchen and her green eyes brightened “Mommy!”
Daya and Jasmine turned the corner to see Anetra kneeling on the tiled floor as Delia ran into her open arms. Both were smiling as Anetra pulled her into a hug,
“Mama and I missed you so much. Were you a good girl for your babysitters?” The older woman said as she glanced at the two girls in the doorway.
Delia nodded and her mother continued, “Mama has something for you upstairs. Why don’t you go see her while I start making dinner?”
As Delia disappeared up the stairs, Anetra dug through the purse on the counter and pulled out an envelope of money. “Thanks again for watching her. She wasn’t too much trouble, was she?” She said as she gave Daya and Jasmine even stacks of the bills.
“Nope, she was perfect for us,” Jasmine said as she slipped the money in the pocket of her leggings.
“Oh, that reminds me.” Anetra took her phone from where it lay on the counter. “Daya, you’re in a band, right? I think Kerri mentioned it one time.”
Daya nodded, “I am, why do you ask?”
“The DJ at the club I work at is on vacation all next week. Could your band fill in on some of the days?” She asked. “Irene is looking for anyone available at this point.”
Daya and Jasmine shared a look, and Jasmine gave her a small nod of encouragement. Daya looked back to the red-headed woman in front of her “We would love to.”
“Great, I’ll let Irene know that you’re interested, and you get to bring a plus-one with no cover,” she said as they all heard two pairs of feet walking down the stairs.
As Daya and Jasmine made their way with their packed overnight bags to the front door, they waved goodbye at Delia, who now carried a stuffed pink cat.
“Thank you again for watching her. All she talked about upstairs was how much fun she had with you two.” Sasha said from where she stood behind her younger daughter, gently moving the hair out of Delia’s face.
“No problem, we would love to watch her again,” Daya said before they all said their goodbyes, and she and Jasmine walked towards the driveway.
“I’ll give you a ride home if you need it.” Daya offered with the keys to her truck in hand.
“I’d appreciate it,” Jasmine said as they climbed into the cab.
Soon Daya pulled into the parking lot of Jasmine’s apartment complex, and before Jasmine could thank her for the ride, Daya spoke up.
“So I can bring a plus one for free to the club next week. Do you want to go with me, as friends?” she asked.
“Count me in,” Jasmine said with a bright smile.

_________________________________________
“I know. Let it out y/n. I know how you feel.” Seungmin cooed at you, while you nestled your face into the crook of his neck. Tears streamed down your cheeks, making small stains on his shirt. You felt so comfortable in his embrace. When he held you like this, it made you feel so safe, like no one in the world and beyond could ever hurt you. He made you feel so protected.
His grip tightened around you as your sobbing lightened. You raised up from him and he looked you into your eyes as he wiped your remaining tears away with his thumbs.
“I just don’t understand why he would do this to me. What did I do to deserve this? I’ve tried my best to be the best girlfriend to him. I never got mad at him for anything. I just don't understand…it’s killing me.” You said, still catching your breath from crying.
“I know sweetie, if he can’t see how beautiful and amazing, and special you are, he is an idiot. You deserve so much better. You are so great. Every time you smile, it brightens up the room. Every time you laugh, it bounces off the walls, and makes everyone’s day just a little better. You are just a ray of sunshine and just because some douche can’t see that does not change any bit of it.” Seungmin said, as he looked into your eyes deeply.
This is why he was your best friend. He always knew how to make you feel better.
Earlier this morning, you needed some time alone because you have been a little stressed out with work and final exams coming up at school. You decided to go out and walk around the city. You went to a really nice brunch place and had some of the best food you’ve had in a while. Then you went to the biggest mall in town and bought basically a new wardrobe. You were having such a great time out until you saw your oh so beloved boyfriend kissing some random girl you’re guessing he met at the party that he didn't even bother to bring you to.
You drove home in tears because you actually did care a lot about him. When you opened the door to the apartment, Seungmin was sitting on the couch, writing in his journal quietly with a day6 song playing distantly in the background.
He turned to you and could immediately tell you're upset and have been crying. "Hey hey what's wrong." He said as he set his journal and pencil down on the table. "Come here, tell me what happened." You explained to him what you saw at the mall. He immediately took you in his arms.
Now there you guys were."I know what we can do to get your mind off this. Let's just chill and watch that one anime Han has been begging us to watch. And I actually bought your favorite snack earlier today. I was gonna surprise you with it tomorrow, but it seems like you'll desperately need it today." He laughed.
All you could do is look into his eyes and wonder how a person could be so amazingly perfect. You've never looked at your roommate in this way, but you could feel a crush coming on. You wanted him. He'd been right here this whole time and you're just now seeing that.
You grabbed your snack and joined Seungmin on the couch.
Han has a record of watching anime that is VERY sexual. You knew this one wasn't going to be any different but he insisted that you and Seungmin watched it so you both thought it was the perfect opportunity to get it out of the way.
You and Seungmin always cuddle when you watch TV, but this time it felt different. He sat there on the couch with your legs thrown over his lap, one of his arms wrapped around your legs and the other rested on the back of the couch.
You both sat there on the couch for a few hours watching this show. There were a few scenes that had a lot of tension, nothing you two couldn't handle, until you got to the second to last episode. When the pretty girl climbed on top of her crush and started to grind against the bulge growing in his pants, you couldn't help but get horny.
You squeezed your legs together and squirmed around a bit.
Seungmin could automatically tell you were getting excited. He looked at you and his face grew a hot reddish color. His jaw clenched. It took everything in him not to call you out. Seeing you get horny like this, especially when your body was so close to his. Your legs and thighs brushing against his dick, it almost made him start to grind against the back of your legs, but he had to control himself. But finally, he just had to say something.
"You think I don't notice that?" He said with an annoyed, but playful look on his face.
Your heart dropped. How the fuck did he notice?
"What….do you mean?"
"Hmmmm well idk…just the fact that you're getting horny on top of me like this???" Your jaw dropped.
"How could you even tell?"
"I've been your best friend since middle school, and I've lived with you for two years, you just start to pick up on things like that." You looked down in embarrassment
"Hey, I'm not complaining. I think it's cute. I think I like seeing you like that. Never thought I'd be saying that but I am."
You looked down to see a bump growing in his sweatpants.
"Come here." He whispered. He motioned for you to sit on his lap, which you did in almost a heartbeat. You were now on his lap as you both looked into each other’s eyes waiting for who was gonna do something next. Then he finally spoke.
“y/n you know I will always be here for you, right? I'm right here. You’re safe with me. I will never let anyone hurt you like this ever again. It broke my heart to see you so upset when you walked in that door. I just wanted to kill him when you told me what happened.”
Seungmin’s words somehow turned you on. You knew they were supposed to comfort you, but they did so much more than that. You began to grind your dampening pussy on his hard bulge. You still looked into his eyes, letting out small breaths. His hands gripped harder against your waist.
“Uh…what- what are you doing?” He was looking down to stare at the view of your hips grinding on him.
“I-I don’t know..I’m-"
Before you could even finish your sentence, Seungmin grabbed the side of your face and pulled you in for a kiss.
His lips felt amazing on yours. They were so soft and warm. You could feel your face warming up and your palms getting sweaty. He slipped his tongue in your mouth gently which made your heart skip a beat and your breath hitch. His tongue traced your lips and teeth.
At certain moments, your tongues would meet and gracefully dance in between your mouths. Your lips easily glided together, wet from the way your tongues were sloppily moving.
Seungmin let out a quiet hum into your mouth that made you squirm and grind on top of him more. Both of your breathing picked up as he got harder and harder under you.
Seungmin stood up holding you in his arms as he carried you to the bedroom. He started kissing you again as you knocked things over while trying to make your way to the bedroom.
Finally, Seungmin reached behind you to open the door. He gently placed you on the bed, and immediately climbed on top of you. He continued kissing you, rubbing his hands all over your body.
He started to lift up your shirt, lips still attached to yours.
Seungmin's hands rubbed and glided up and down your stomach, sending shocks throughout your entire body. He moved down to your neck and began kissing and licking your neck. The feeling of his warm tongue on your neck, the air, the wet spots he left made you shiver.
He began to leave quick kisses on your collarbone.
"Sit up." He demanded, as he lifted your shirt.
''Arms up." You raised your arms up as he took off your shirt.
Seungmin wrapped his hands around you and placed you back down on the bed. He brought his hands under you and unhooked the pretty lace bra off your body.
He kissed your stomach, occasionally sticking out his tongue to lick and mark you. You didn't even care. You were loving every second of it.
He drug his bottom lip up your stomach until he reached your tits. He kissed your nipples, going back and forth from left to right. He started to suck on them.
You moaned in pleasure, no one has ever gone into so much detail with you, they always just jumped to fucking you, so the sensation he was giving you was completely unfamiliar. He left your nipples sopping wet. They were harder and more sensitive then they'd ever been.
He finally spoke. "My god y/n your body is stunning." He pinched nipples as he came back up to kiss your lips.
Seungmin stood up straight at the end of the bed, towering over you. He then kneeled to his knees. He pulled your shorts down and to his surprise, you weren't wearing anything to shelter your sopping pussy.
"No underwear? You're so dirty" He scoffed. The last part of his sentence muffled as he licked up and down your slit, picking up your wetness on his tongue.
Seungmin moved his mouth up a bit more to suck on your clit. He hummed and groaned on you which sent vibrations throughout your body.
"You're so delicious baby, you just taste so amazing." His words made you buck your hips into his mouth as he made you feel good with his mouth.
You were moaning out for him louder and louder. You grabbed on to his hair and pushed him harder on your pussy.
"Seungmin please" You called loudly, your voice echoed throughout the room. Seungmin lifted his mouth from your pussy slightly.
"Please what?" He looked up at you into your eyes. His lips were soaked in your juices.
"Please…make me…c-cum." You said shly. He smirked at you and continued to lick and suck on you. However this time he was licking and sucking on your clit faster and harder. You threw your head back on the pillow in pleasure, slowly becoming a cute little mess.
You could feel him smiling on your pussy.
"Seungmin please please I'm so c-close" You moaned out for him.
Seungmin sucked on your clit a tad bit harder as you came in his mouth.
"Mmmmm that's so good baby, that's such a good job." He cooed at you.
Seungmin stood up and took off his pants and shirt leaving only his boxers on. You could see his bulge still poking through them, eaking a a precumeaving a little stain. He climbed on the bed and leaned against the headboard. "Come here baby." He patted his thighs as a way of telling you to sit on his lap again.
You both looked into each other’s eyes for what seemed like forever until Seungmin slowly and quietly uttered the words, "Can you sit….on my cock please?" He looked to the floor as his face grew red. At that moment, you wanted nothing more.
You scooted closer to him until your pussy sat right on top of his dick. You grinded slowly on it, leaving a streak of wetness on him. You finally took your ear and placed the head of his cock at your sopping entrance.
You slowly slid down on his dick as you both gasped, surprised by the amazing feeling of each other. Seungmin wrapped his arms around you to bring you as close to him as you possibly could be. You wrapped your hands around his neck, your chest pressed closely with his.
"D- do you want me to start moving now?" You asked hesitantly because you've never been on top before.
"Yes baby, just go slow okay? I know you haven't done something like this so just take your time."
You moved your hips slowly up and down on his dick. He rolled his eyes back as the back of his head hit the headboard, letting out a short and quiet moan.
You held your breath momentarily at the feeling of his cock stretching your pussy. He tightened his hold on you, making sure you're not going anywhere.
"You feel so good" Seungmin whispered in your ear, holding the back of your head as you bounced on him, picking up your pace.
Seungmin thrusted his hips up into you. You could see that he was slowly starting to lose himself and was going crazy for you.
At this point, Seungmin has gained full control, fucking your pussy from under you, making you take all of him. He picked up his pace. The sound of him pounding into you was beginning to fill up the room. "O-oh fuck y/n you're so perfect, so so so amazing, mmm." Seungmin said breathlessly. You just took him with your eyes dazed, loving it and immersing yourself in the pleasure he was giving you.
You gripped on his back tighter and tighter as he fucked up into you. The both of you were in a tight huh, holding each other as close as possible. You rested your head on his shoulder moaning and whimpering for him at a quiet volume.
The words he spoke made you clench around him tighter, which made him call your name out. You felt the mood change. He seemed more aggressive and almost…angry? Out of nowhere, Seungmin grabbed you by the waist and flipped you on your back. He was now on top of you as he pulled you closer with a force that you have never seen from him before. You didn’t know what had happended to him, but you loved it.
He took a firm grip of your tits and squeezed them, seemingly as tight as he could while he slammed his cock into you. You screamed in ecstasy. “Oh my- Seungmin please please please please. It feels so good. Im gon- gonna cum soon. Please.”
“Oh you’re so cute begging for me like that.” His voice was strained because of how hard and fast he was railing into you.
The both of you were a wet, sweaty, breathless, moaning mess. “Forget about your stupid boyfriend. You’re with me now. Be with me. Me. Only me.” He said. The way the end of his sentence faded into a song of moans and heavy breathing told he was moments away from cumming. You were almost sure his sudden aggressiveness was due to the fact that he was angry about what had happened at the mall earlier that morning. Seungmin goes a little mad whenever someone hurts you. He’s always been that way.
“Seungmin...fuck…im gonna cum…” You squealed as Seungmin picked up his pace a little bit. The feeling of Seungmin’s dick hitting your sweet spot inside of you was driving you crazy."
“I’m cumming.” You struggled to say.
“Oh fuck.” Seungmin said as he let out a loud drawn out moan. His warm cum filled up your pulsing pussy. You both were incredibly tired. Seungmin layed down on the bed with you. You rested your head on his chest and he patted the top of your head.
“I’m sorry I got so aggressive. I kept thinking about how upset that jerk made you and what he did to you and I guess my emotions got the best of me.” His voice sounded so worn out, he was obviously exhausted.
“Seungmin it’s okay, I loved every bit of it. It feels good to know you care about me so much.” You said, giving him a warm smile.
He smiled back at you. “I meant what I said. I want you to be with me. You mean the world to me.”
You gave him a small kiss on the lips. “I would absolutely love that.”
“Let’s clean up tomorrow. I just want to keep holding you.” He said as his voice quieted down.
You shared one last kiss before falling asleep in each other's arms.

B&B: Issue 1 - Metamorphosis
Cross posed on AO3
AN:Hello!! This chapter is just an introduction to my OC and worldbuilding. This isn't a slow burn (edit: I lied this is def a slow burn) but it will take a couple chapters before our love interests start having a meaningful relationship. I want this to feel organic and not rush into romance too quickly (even though that's what I'm most excited for). Please enjoy the first real chapter of B&B!
MONICA MOET
PRESENT-DAY
BLUDHAVEN - MAY 28 - 4:38 PM
We had been having low turnouts for weeks. We weren’t entirely sure what was keeping kids away. It’s not as if all the troubled youth of Bludhaven suddenly disappeared. Maybe the kids were just enjoying the nice weather we’ve been having? We were also running low on volunteers. Today there were only two of us, supervised by a single nun.
On weekdays St. Bernadine’s Church ran a youth program out of its basement. It was no secret that Bludhaven had a homelessness crisis, one that had a deep impact on children. St. Bernadine’s was determined to help. We had a variety of activities and resources for the kids — puzzles, art supplies, education tools, internet access and tablets. Most importantly we had food and shelter. While our program was open to all youth in the area, the vast majority that showed up were kids on the run or living on the streets needing a place to rest and eat.
A part of me knew that this was probably a very complicated ploy to convert young impressionable kids to catholicism. I tried to believe that the good of this place outweighed any potential religious brainwashing. After all, ten years ago this place was my safe haven.
Now, I stop at nothing to make sure kids don’t have to suffer the way I did. After I got into Gotham U I spent every free second I wasn’t studying, in class or sleeping at St. Bernadine’s. I was proof that it was possible to make a better life for yourself off the streets. Now, I simply come when I can fit it into my schedule. At the very least I try to be here every Friday for animal therapy day.
The main area of the basement is a large rectangle. On the side of the room furthest from me, is a small elevated corridor that goes around to the kitchen, bathrooms, and the stairs to the back exit. The side closest to me has large double doors that closed the room off from the main stairs and entrance. There were desks with mismatched plastic chairs scattered around the room. A corner of the room had three beat-up couches arranged in a U shape. Fake plants decorated every table and empty space— Sister Agnes’ idea to brighten up the place.
I currently sat alone at our registration desk fiddling with the stylus for my iPad. Behind my desk were several utility carts, some with books and others with arts and craft supplies. There was also a large bookshelf with board games, cards and puzzles. Under the table by my feet was a safe where we kept the tablets. Everything in my area had to be signed out in order to be used to limit theft. Most of the supplies we had were donated or thrifted; we couldn't afford to lose them.
We only had three kids come through today. It was a Monday, which was usually one of our busier days. I scanned the room and felt a deep sense of sadness seeing how deserted it was today. All the tables sat empty. One of the couches was occupied by a sleeping teen in dirty clothes. The other two sat on the floor in the corner farthest from me playing Jenga.
Opposite my desk was the only other volunteer, Roy Harper, keeping watch over the sandwiches that likely wouldn’t be claimed today. In addition to refreshments, Roy’s side of the room had extra chairs, blankets and pillows the kids could freely take and move about the basement.
Roy was fidgeting a lot. I could hear the sound of his foot tapping from where I was sitting. Usually, he spent his time at St. B’s talking with the kids, playing games, or helping them with whatever little projects they were working on. It was clear he was itching for something to do. He never was able to sit still long or keep his mouth shut for that matter.
Roy and I grew up together on the streets of Bludhaven. Turns out, I wasn’t the only angry orphan trying to survive on their own. We did everything together when we were kids. We shared everything — food, money, clothes, shelter. He was my first and only love. For a time Roy was my entire world and my only family. I wouldn’t have made it this far without him. He took care of me despite my flaws and loved me even though I was broken.
As we got older though, I craved stability and he still wanted to be wild and free. I got my GED and then went to Gotham U. He worked odd jobs and moved around a lot. We made our choices and went our separate ways, I didn’t see him for years. Until last year when he showed up here to volunteer — the same place we met all those years ago.
“Harper,” I called towards the ginger.
He raised his big bushy eyebrows at me. We were still trying to navigate what exactly we were now. Childhood friends? Ex-lovers? Two people that just volunteer together? All of the above?  I wanted nothing more than to have Roy back in my life, but even after all these months, things were awkward.
There was a moment I considered getting back together with him. Maybe it was out of nostalgia? Seeing him again sparked something deep within me. A longing for love and companionship. Though it was a completely selfish desire. Whatever it was we had when we were kids, it was gone. That was probably in Roy’s best interest.
He was so much different from the kid he was before. For starters, he claims to have been sober for over a year. His hair was much longer, he could likely tie it in a bun, much different from the buzz cut he used to sport. He grew a full beard and he was more broad and muscular too. He was calm. He laughed. This Roy was much more adult . I couldn’t get a grip on who exactly he was now so I chose to remain as casual as possible.
“I have to go pick Carina up from daycare, I’m going to head out early” I informed him. He and Sister Jolene could handle the handful of kids that came in today and I was itching to get home before dark.
“Later Mo,” he called as I packed away my iPad and slung my tote bag over my shoulder.
I locked the tablet safe and gave the keys back to Sister Jolene. I headed for the back exit. I hated going through the main doors, pillars of white marble lined the large stained glass doors. It was such a blatant display of wealth. Heading through the back alleys was much more my style.
If I ran, maybe I could catch the next train and pick Carina up early. I tied my dark curly hair into a bun. I don’t know why I bothered with my hair on days like today; the humidity was just going to ruin it in ten minutes. The sun was still too high for my liking. I traded my large round wire glasses for my sunglasses and prayed the melanin of my skin would be enough to protect me from this sweltering heat. Why did I leave the nice air-conditioned church basement again?
Carina. Right. The goodest girl of them all was waiting for me.
My commute to doggy daycare was a 3 block jog to the train station and a 20-minute train ride. I put on my headphones and started my journey as my Spotify shuffled. Adele bled into Kendrick Lamar, and Solange turned to Post Malone as my horrendously varied taste in music accompanied me on my route.
I spent my train ride thinking about all the projects I had due next week. I had a website to complete building and a digital art commission to finish. But those could wait until tomorrow. I really fell into the “university will get you a good paying job” BS narrative. A whole software engineering degree later and I was essentially running two businesses to stay afloat.
I was never suited for the nine-to-five life. It was too restrictive. I wanted to pick the projects I worked on. Taking on those that inspired me, and rejecting ones that didn’t mesh with me. Of course, most of the projects I ended up working on were mundane and didn’t challenge me in the slightest. I wanted to program tech that would change the world, yet here I was building websites and creating productivity tracking software.
Eventually, a combination of lacking a creative outlet and an inability to pay my bills on time lead me to also take art commissions. While I didn’t consider myself the best artist, random strangers on the internet seemed to like it. Somehow, trying to avoid being tied to a rigid 40-hour workweek lead to me working 16-hour days and having very little free time.
“Monica, you’re early!” Zee exclaimed when I entered Paws & Rec dog daycare. She’s the owner whom I had gotten to know over the years. She smiled at me as soon as I entered. I had never actually seen the daycare area where the dogs played all day. All I had ever seen was the front lobby. The walls were a bright yellow that gave off a playful vibe. The front desk was a bright teal and had a gate next to it to keep the pups from running off.
“I finished volunteering early,” I returned her smile. “How was she today?”
“An absolute treasure as always. Carina’s one of our favourites.” Zee punched some numbers into her computer and gave me the total for Rina’s visit today. I paid and she retreated through the door behind the front counter. Less than a minute later, all dressed in her harness and ready to head home was my golden retriever.
“Wee-na!” I cooed as my sunshine pup excitedly ran through the opened gate and straight to my legs. “Did you have a good day with Zee and the others?” Carina gave me some happy woo-woos as I gave her pets and pats for being such a good girl at daycare.
I gave Zee a wave and a thank you as I grabbed Carina’s leash, attached it to her harness and started our trek home. It was only a 15-minute walk. I guess the good thing about living in a city is that nothing is ever too far from home.
By the time we arrived back at my apartment and climbed four flights of stairs, Carina's burst of energy from being picked up from daycare had worn off and she lazily trotted to her bed in the living room once I removed her harness. After taking off my shoes and switching back to my indoor glasses I surveyed my apartment for any kitty mischief that occurred while I was gone the last few hours.
My apartment was quite cozy. An open concept one-bedroom equipped with more than enough living space for myself and two kitties. I felt bad making a large dog like Carina live in a box in the sky so I tried my best to compensate by taking her on lots of walks, adventures, and daycare at least once a week. Now that I think about it…maybe the reason I’m broke is that I pamper my pets so much. Nah.
As I entered the kitchen I was greeted by ice-blue eyes staring at me. It was almost as if Blanche was waiting for me to come home so she could start a fight. My foe wore a fluffy coat of pure white wielded blades which have scarred me many times. Her battleground of choice was my island counter. Her posture was regal as ever as her paw slowly inched toward the bowl of fruit that sat in front of her. Her fluffy tail swished back and forth informing me of her intent. This bitch is really going to do it.
“Don't you fucking dare,” I warned with narrowing eyes. This seemed to set her off. She pushed at the bowl with her paws before I had the chance to stop her. My bananas and pears toppled to the floor.
“You really are a bitch,” I muttered under my breath as I went to collect the fruit before Carina could get to it.
Blanche jumped off the counter, her tail high as she sauntered over to the cat tree so she could curl up at the very top like the princess she was. Blanche was the kind of cat you had to just observe. She wasn’t a fan of being picked up or God forbid cuddling. I respected her boundaries, even if it came with an attitude. I fed her, brushed her, cleaned her shit and she hated that I existed.
I threw my bag onto my lightly-preowned couch and started to strip off my dirty clothes, tossing them to the floor as I headed for the bathroom. There I found Rocket, my other cat, an orange ball of fluff and chaos busying himself in the corner with a tissue he fished out of my garbage. It honestly astonished me sometimes how opposite my kitties seemed to be considering I got them at the same shelter.
“What are you doing my garbage baby?” I cooed as picked up my precious prince of trash and cradled him in my arms. Although likely annoyed I separated him from his tissue, Rocket purred in my arms as I rubbed his belly. He looked at me with his one good eye — the other he lost before I adopted him a scar running over its place. His lil’ toe beans pressed against my face gently as if he was petting me back. I could die happy right now.
Unfortunately for Rocket, he wasn’t allowed in the bathroom while I was taking a shower. He was banned after jumping into the bathtub with me and proceeding to puke in my bathwater. So I escorted him out of the bathroom to join his fluffy siblings in the living area.
My disappointment with the underwhelming turnout at St. B’s was almost instantly washed away the moment the hot water hit my skin. I was finally done with the day’s responsibilities, and all the residents of the apartments were alive and well. My muscles felt like melting butter as I relaxed and started to sing nonsense to myself.
Once I felt sufficiently boiled I turned off the water and wrapped myself in my towel. For a moment I considered doing my entire skincare routine before deciding I was much too lazy for that and simply slapped some moisturizer on my face and called it a day.
I dried myself off in my bedroom and nonchalantly threw on the first t-shirt and pair of underwear I pulled out of my drawers. This old Batman shirt I thrifted years ago was still the comfiest piece of clothing I owned even if it had holes big enough to fit my fingers through. I was a men's shirt that was three sizes too big for me. Perhaps if I weren’t so tall I could wear it like a dress like those petite girls I saw on Instagram.
I paused for a moment staring at my double door closet. Not tonight, I thought. My eyes shifted towards the desk opposite my bed. They zeroed in on the side drawers I tried not to think about were stored within them. But I could, couldn’t I? I shook my head and left my bedroom. I was going to stay home tonight. I was staying home, petting my fluffy babies and relaxing at least that’s what I’m going to tell myself.
-10:37 PM-
I was sprawled out on my couch waiting for enough time to pass so I could go to sleep. For an hour or so, I really believed the lies I told myself. That I could just leave it alone. I didn’t need to go out on the streets of Bludhaven. It was dangerous. The police are doing a fine job.
I scrolled through my phone trying my best to ignore the nagging feeling in the back of my mind. I desperately seek distraction, but exactly what I’ve been trying to ignore finds me.
BPD reports the 4th overdose death in the city this month. Steroid drug known as ‘venom’ suspected to be involved.
I stopped scrolling when I read the headline on my timeline. It is linked to a news report. I had to physically stop myself from clicking it. I threw my phone on my coffee table and I sighed heavily. I have to do something.
The suit wasn't ready. This was all just a crazy idea that I took too far. I wasn’t a hero. I didn’t have powers like Superman or Wonder Woman. All I had were my fists. And flash grenades. And a taser. And brass knuckles.
I’m not fighting anyone. I decided. I was simply going to patrol, call the police if I saw anything suspicious and get out. Recon only. No fights. No fighting. Not again.
I sprang off the couch and took off towards my bedroom, Blanche followed behind me. I pulled my hair up and into a fluffy ponytail in preparation. I opened my closet doors and shuffled through the clothes and hangers until I got to the very end. There hung a near skin-tight black bodysuit and on the next hanger a cape.
I pulled on the stretchy suit that hugged my body in ways that weren’t the most comfortable. How did the heroes wear stuff like this all the time?  The suit covered even my fingers and feet, essentially encasing everything from the neck down. I will admit, it showed off my thick, toned thighs that I was very proud of and made my boobs look amazing.
I turned to my desk and found Blanche sitting on the tabletop. She was curled up so that all her paws were covered. Her eyes watched me as I moved about my room her tail swishing letting me know that she considered me her prey. Maybe Blanche could be my sidekick, I’m sure she would enjoy clawing up bad guys. She would be the only weapon I needed.
I dug through my desk drawers and pulled out the accessories and ‘armour’ pieces. I strapped on my red utility belt across my waist. It is joined on the left side of my hip with a butterfly-shaped clasp. Next, I slid on my red leather arm guards. I pulled out another drawer and started filling the pockets of my utility belt. Flash grenades. Grappling gun. And a taser just in case. I left my prototype gadgets deciding they were too early in development and not tested. Not that I had tested any of the things I had put in my pockets, but that's beside the point.
I returned to my closet and pulled out my cape in the shape of insect wings. The top half was black with a red stripe down either wing and red eyespots. The bottom wings were red, the outer edges lined in black. The front of the cape came together with another red butterfly clasp.
I pulled on my red boots that came to a point at the top matching my arm guards. I was scrambling. Going back and forth between closet and desk drawers as I put on the finishing touches to my hero costume. Black headphones with antennae that were capable of picking up a variety of signals and a black and red domino mask. I made sure to make the lenses of my mask correct my vision like my glasses.
I stared at myself in my full-length mirror. My original inspiration was butterflies. They were nostalgic. I eventually decided butterflies were not intimidating and chose instead to be a moth. Moths were like the butterflies of the night. The moth is more mysterious and elusive yet held the same beauty. I based my costume on the cinnabar moth, deciding red and black better suited a vigilante more than bright pink and yellow. I still somehow managed to look like a butterfly. I sighed. This is ridiculous.
Five times this month I pulled on this ridiculous getup and stared at myself. Initially, I felt powerful. Like all the heroes I admired so much. Like my idol, Batman. But the more I looked at myself the more foolish I felt. Blanche stared at me with those disdainful eyes of hers. It was like she was expressing her disappointment. Of course, I wasn’t actually going to do it, again .
“Fuck you, I can do this,” I said more to myself than to Blanche.
Somehow, that was the final push I needed. I turned off the lights in my apartment and snuck out my fire escape heading towards the roof. My building was only 5 stories high. Tall enough to be a good enough jumping-off point, short enough that I probably wouldn’t die if this all failed and I fell.
I eyed the building next to mine, only three stories taller. This could be a good testing spot. Probably. This is insane . I paced in small circles. I could die. Why did I think I could do this? For a moment I considered going back inside. Then I thought of the look my bitch of a cat would give me as I snuck back into my apartment.
Was I really being motivated by what I thought my cat thought of me? I really need to make friends. I took a deep breath to center myself. I’m doing this. The night brought with it cooler, crisper air than the evening. The feeling of the air filling my lungs cleared my mind. I can do this.
I took a few steps back and took a running stance. This was it. Without a second thought, I took off running at full speed towards the neighbouring building. And once I reached the end of my roof I leaped. During the moments I spent airborne I felt like I was flying. It was exhilarating. I hadn’t felt this feeling in years.
Everything went quiet. The world around me disappeared and all that existed was my target in front of me. It was the rush I had spent years chasing. Adrenaline coursing through my veins. I needed more.
I threw my arms and legs out in front of me as I was about to hit the building. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, for everything to fail and for my fall. But the fall didn’t come. I opened my eyes to find my face inches away from the bricks. I worked. I stuck. I wasn’t falling.
One of the integral design elements of my suit was the ability to stick to walls. It took months of research, and trial and error. Two months ago I finally figured it out. My suit was covered in tiny fibres that allowed me to stick to most surfaces, just like an insect. I had tested this ability out in my apartment. Sticking to drywall and my ceiling perfectly, I had no idea if it would work on brick or stone or glass for that matter. But it worked. It worked!
I crawled up the side of the building until I reached the roof and pulled myself over the edge. I panted, my lungs burning from the exertion. I gave myself a moment to catch my breath before taking off toward the next building. And the building after that. The giant smile that plastered my face felt so foreign. When was the last time I enjoyed myself?
After jumping to my fifth building I came to face my next challenge — an intersection. The building across the street was much taller than the one I currently stood on, and the gap created by the street below was much too far to jump. I reached into my utility belt and pulled out my grappling gun. I aimed slightly above the roofline of the next building and shot it upwards.
The line connected. I gave it a hard yank to test its stability before running and taking another leap of faith swinging on my line. The risk of falling onto the street full of vehicles below only seemed to boost my thrill. I wasn’t scared of dying. I was scared of falling. Being able to defy that fear and literally rise above it gave me a rush like nothing else. As the line retracted I ascended towards the roof of the tall building. I may not be able to use my wings but I could fly.
The view from the top was breathtaking. I was maybe 20 stories high looking down. There wasn’t much traffic but the city was alight nonetheless. People were going about their evenings as if they didn’t have a care in the world. I felt like I was in one of those romcoms set in New York City where the city sparkled at night.
I didn’t know Bludhaven could look like this.  Living on the 4th floor, and only leaving my house to visit a church basement and dog daycare didn’t exactly leave room for sights like this. I could fall in love with this city if I saw this every night.
The admiration of my home was cut short when I noticed a disturbance. Not too far from where I stood, a figure zipped across the sky, much like I had just done. Running across the tops of buildings. It couldn’t be, could it? My body moved before I could think about what I was doing. I took off after the figure. I didn’t even consider that it might not be who I was looking for. It could have been a villain for all I knew. But I ran, jumped and zipped across the city in pursuit of this mysterious figure.
I kept my distance. Mostly because I wasn’t able to catch up. For a moment I thought I lost them. Continuing my flight path towards the last place I had seen them. I froze on that final roof, finally figuring out the identity of the person I had been chasing. It’s not him. I released a breath, my disappointment helped my exhaustion catch up to me.
It wasn’t Batman. It was his former protégé, the original boy wonder, now known as Nightwing . It had made sense now that I had a moment to think about it. Batman operated mostly in Gotham when he wasn’t on Justice League business as far as anyone knew. Nightwing had taken up residence in Bludhaven a few years ago, becoming our city’s saviour. There was also the fact that Batman wore an iconic cape and the figure I was chasing didn’t. I should have known it wasn’t him.
Nightwing hadn’t moved since landing on the ground. He simply stared ahead of him. That’s when I finally processed what we were both looking at. It was a tent city. One full of children. No one there could have been over the age of sixteen.
Tents littered an abandoned area by the docks. It was lit up by lanterns, fires and fairy lights. Children ran and laughed as they chased each other around playing. Others looked much more jaded. Likely hardened from years of homelessness. Some gathered by their fires seeking refuge from the crisp night air.
A group of children gathered in front of Nightwing looking up at him with fear in their eyes. I didn’t know what they were saying. Maybe they were asking for help? Or perhaps they wanted him to leave? I wish I could hear what they were saying. I needed to know what was going on.
I couldn’t process everything I was seeing. Is this where all the kids I usually helped had gone? When was this set up? Were there always this many homeless kids in Bludhaven? My heart hurt. So many kids. Just like I was.
Memories of those days being helpless and alone started flooding in. Suddenly it was as if I couldn’t breathe. My lungs burned with every sharp inhale. My vision started to blur and my body felt numb. The only thing I could feel was the beating of my racing heart. I needed to get out of here. When I tried to move my limbs my body refused my commands. Was this what dying feels like?
It took every ounce of my power to control my breathing. Shaky breaths eventually evened out. My vision cleared. While my heart still raced, it slowed by enough beats that I could make sense of the world around me.
I must have frozen too long. I hadn’t noticed Nightwing had moved. The moment I finally came back to the present it was too late. He was gone. I spun around trying to find where he had gone only to find him on the same rooftop staring right at me.

Don’t think about any of the superhero stuff too hard. Things work because they do. The superhero business is honestly a small part of a much larger story so if something doesn’t quite make sense just…ignore it. I’m a dumb bitch trying to write characters with genius-level intellect so I’m fudging it a bit lol.
Hope you liked the first issue of B&B. I really want to thank my RL friends for pushing me to write after spending weeks rambling to them about batfamily LOL. And a huge thanks to my betas for making my writing actually make sense. Biggest thank you of all to my bestie who not only gave me amazing feedback but also puts up with me dumping plot points for days on end. Hope to see you all in Issue #2! It will be from Dick’s perspective. Likes, comments and reblogs are always appreciated ❤️✨

braiding the other’s hair (idk if this is allowed but i rly want this for cash and ingrid tysm)
Cassius looked over at Ingrid as she ate her breakfast that he made for both her and Tally that morning and smiled. Tally was in the other room getting ready for the day, knowing that she was up late last night studying for a test that she was getting prepared for the next day. When he woke up this morning, he wanted to make sure that everything was easy for her today. He got up when he heard Ingrid, letting Tally sleep in until her alarm went off and decided to make breakfast and watch some morning cartoon shows with her. Looking at the younger girl, he laughed a little at how her hair seemed to be all over the place. “Hey, are you done?” he asked her, noticing that the food was all over her face and her plate empty. He took the plate from her and placed it in the sink before grabbing a napkin to wipe the little girl’s face off. Taking her out of the seat, he held her. “Want me to braid your hair?” Ingrid gave him a big smile and laughter, as she reached out for his long hair to play with. He took her over to the living room where he sat down on the couch and he placed her between his feet on the floor, turning Bluey on and making sure that hair ties were on his wrist for her. As she paid most attention to the blue dog and her sister, Cassius brushed her hair carefully and couldn't help but laugh at some of the shenanigans that were happening on the screen as well and hearing Ingrid having conversations with the animated characters. After trying a few different types of styles, he ended up with two nice and clean french pigtail braids that he learned from a young age from an old friend who used to play with his. He finished it with a small kiss on the top of her head, letting her know he was done and not realizing that Tally was leaning against the wall watching them. Noticing her presence, he looked over and smiled widely at her. "Not so bad, huh?" he asked rhetorically. "I'm usually very selective with my clients, but this girl has a seat whenever she wants."

Chapter one I can't believe my mom and my step dad are going to miss my 10th birthday just for a dumb honeymoon to South America for two weeks. So, I have to stay at my aunt Kacy's house. But at least her house is surrounded by wood, which means no loud noise or bad smells and no city stuff!
As I close my note book and left the words I wrote, looking out the car window I saw nothing but the country side and I can't help but smile."Hey Sara," I look over at my mom.
"Yea?"  "We'll be at aunt Kacy's house in about an hour so make sure you have all your stuff,"
"I already know I have everything ok." I said trying to stay civil. I went back to staring mindlessly out of the window, losing myself in the beautiful landscape as it shifted from bleak plain to deep words. I saw streams of running water and some deer drinking out of it.
When we arrived the sun was falling down into the horizon. I stumbled out of the car, my legs locked up from the ride. I lifted the trunk door up and heaved my duffle bag out of it. Then Kacy came rushing out of the house a glowing smile on her face, "Hey you three! There you are! What happened? You guys are a bit late,"
"We got a little lost on the way here," My mum said.
"Ah, it happens. Right, Sara your room is up the stairs and is the last door on the right, get up there and get comfy, okay?"
"Sure thing." I moved past her, struggling to carry my bag inside. Kacy shut the screen door behind me, I didn't pay it much attention. I bounded up the steps and walked to my room, *last door on the right, last door on the right...ah here it is*
When I enter my room I was taken aback. It was coated in a beautiful emerald green, and in the centre of the wall opposite was a large window. In the far right corner of the room there was a queen size bed, on the left side there was a small closet and a desk sitting in front of the window giving a great view into the woods. The room was spacious, I felt lost inside of it, "Wow," I said aloud. "This is bigger than my room at home." As I went to put my stuff away I heard my mother's car rumble to life and then I heard them drive away and the screen door opened and then it shut with that loud creek. With pain in my heart and sadness in my throat I sighed, *they didn't even say goodbye* I then heard Kacy calling me. I stood up and went off into the hallway and then jogged down the stairs, "Yeah?"
"Are you hungry?"
My stomach growled, I guess I was hungry. I hopped up on one of the wooden stools aligned against the counter, "Yea I guess I am a little hungry" I chuckle. After we ate a filling meal composed of chicken, vegetables and roast potatoes we sat up on the couch with a blanket each popcorn within reach and watched a movie. Time passed us by and soon it was midnight, "You got another movie in you, Sara?"
"Um I think I'll just go to bed,"
"No worries, kiddo. Night,"
"Goodnight."
The next day I go down stairs to eat breakfast "good morning Sara how did u sleep?" she asked me as she flips some pancakes. "good. hey, can I go and explore the woods today?" I asked, "yeah go right ahead." after breakfast I head outside, as I'm walking around the place I can hear lots of wildlife, birds chirping the wind hitting the leaves to the trees it was just so peaceful then I see what looks to be a really old path, as I'm going down the path it starts to open up a small bit, there's a creak by the path. I soon come across small a clearing with a gigantic tree in the middle and a pond.
After looking around the tree and pond for a while I decide to explore some more. I see a game trail off to the left of the pond. I follow it to see what kinds of animals live here. I could see all kinds of tracks deer, elk, raccoon, bobcat, and... one I'm not familiar with it looked like a giant wolf track but it was weird, I take my phone out to take a picture of it to show aunt Kacy. As I started walking again, the forest went silent.
I know when the forest goes quiet there is a predator close by so I decide to go back, the hairs on my neck go up, I get the feeling I'm being watched. I finely got back to the giant tree and pond I found. I looked around the area, since I didn't see anything around the small clearing so I started walking again. I heard a growl, I've never heard a growl like that before. It scared me to death a deer came running throw the trees. There was something chasing it whatever had growled at me went and ran after the deer as well that's when I decide to run the rest of the way back to the house.
(Sara's P.O.V) (notebook) Day 2 at Kacy's
it's so nice and peaceful here I never want to leave. I found a really cool place, there is a giant tree right by a small lake the water is like glass and it's a silvery aquamarine color and a oak tree. I can't wait to see what else is here. I just had the weirdest thing happen. I found a weird wolf track and then the forest went quiet and as I was walking back something growled at me and then there was something chasing a deer and the thing that growled at me ran after the deer to then I got back to the house I told Kacy about the track I found and showed her the pitcher I took of it and she asked me to show her. As we were walking we found another track that was closer to the house and she made a cast of it I went back to the house by myself.
I close my notebook as soon put it down my phone goes off I jumped. I grab my phone to see that my best friend's Kayla and Emily want to video chat on the computer, I go over to the desk and sit down with my heart still racing from the jump scare. I got on the computer, and got on the video chat. "hey how are you guys?" "were good. How about you." "well... some weird stuff has been going on here." "like what?" Kayla asks I told them what happened. "well it could be a coywolf" Emily said, (coywolves are a wolf coyote mix) "I don't know but just about an hour ago" I said. "Wow that scary" Kayla said, "well I still think it's a coywolf." Emily said. It was now about 11:00 at night "well night guys." "night." they said in unison.
I went and got in the shower then got ready for bed as I was lying in bed I kept thinking about what happen earlier that day I soon closed my eyes and fell asleep.
(Day 3)
That morning I walk down stairs got breakfast and I went and looked at the paw print and study it. The print looked odd it looked like a normal wolf track but twice the size. I went in to the kitchen and left a note for my aunt telling her that I was going for a walk and that I had my knife with me.
I was going back to the tree just to hang out there and relax. Once I got to where I could see the bottom of the tree I saw a wolf. I gasped and it looked at me and we made eye contact and it's eyes were a beautiful green color. I looked away from it eyes and its fur was black. It stopped about 10 feet away from me, I felt like I was about to cry I was so scared, it started sniffing the air and he walked towards me it was now 5 feet away from me. It then leaned forwards and sniffed me I whimpered and his head shot back and he looked at me tears were running down my cheeks, I closed my eyes. the wolf's shoulders came up to my knees. It started sniffing me again and walked around me, once it got in front of me again, it looked at me and it whined at me. I opened my eyes and stared at the black wolf and he stared right back at me. i took a deep breath and slowly lifted my hand up for him to sniff but right then, there was a howl from far away he turned his head and ran off. I just sat there in shock. I ran back to the house. I went running through the door crying. Kacy came running from the living room " Sarah what's wrong?" "there was a giant wolf. It came up to me and it sniffed me." I said still crying "what are u ok did it bite you or anything?" "no but it was giant. and there was a howl from somewhere and when it heard that it ran off." I said starting to calm down "well let's just sit down and watch some T.V. Ok?"
(Notebook) Day 3 at Kacy's Its June 15th, 2010
I went back to the giant tree and there was what I thought was a large wolf next to it, and it walked over to me and sniffed me then ran off. I don't know what to think. It wasn't aggressive at me at all even after I looked in to its eyes. I just don't know.
(time skip 4 days) (Sara's P.O.V.) Notebook Day 7 at aunt Kacy's)
Me and Kacy have spent the last couple of days fishing and hiking but I always felt like I was being watch but it made me feel safe, but to day is my birth day and i'm just going to explore the woods some more.
I was walking throughout the forest when I heard a growl, a grizzly came charging out of the woods at me, I screamed and fell backwards. I heard something bounding towards me from behind. Just as the bear was a few feet in front of me, a giant shape came flying over me and tackled the bear. It was that giant wolf. It stoud up and roared at the bear.
The bear stood up and roared back at the wolf. I was crying as the bear hit the wolf with its massove paw leaving a large bloody gash across its chest. I got up and took off running back to the house about half way back I ran in to Kacy "what's going on" she asks me as I just ran past her "werewolf grizzly bear fighting" I screamed as I ran hearing the fight behind me.
Me and Kacy were sitting in the living room I was still crying. Later that night I grabbed my notebook and stared writing.
(Notebook) Day 7 at aunt Kacy's June 22, 2010
I just saw a werewolf but it was in the day I thought werewolf only came out during the full moon it was the same thing I saw on the 15th I am never going back in those woods ever and I'm not telling anyone.

“Y/N,” a husky voice spoke your name, pulling you from your much needed rest as life of being a new mother had been challenging though so far, it wasn’t anything you couldn’t handle
“Y/N, darling.”
You groaned in your sleep, not wanting to wake, to leave the warmth that you were so comfortable laying in
The edge of the bed shifted as a weight sat down beside you, making your body move toward the person
You brought yourself to open your eyes as heavy as they were, your vision clearing to find your husband sat beside you, his mask pulled down to his chin
The room was gloomy and gray though the curtains were open, not a bit of sunlight shining through as he looked down to you with gentle eyes
Despite his softer side with you, he was still the head of the clan - and his appearance matched him as well
He donned a black wool overcoat with the same colored turtleneck and mask
“What is it, Omi?” You asked sleepily as he cupped your cheek with his black gloved hand
His black gloves were always an accessory he had on him, whether he was wearing them or not
He had a thing with germs but he also saw no need to get his hands dirty when his men were always there to do the job for him
You nuzzled your face into his touch, very tempted to fall asleep holding him close but as your mind woke up more and more, you remembered what today was
What he had to do, where he had to go
“I’m leaving soon.. I’ll be back in a few days..” he whispered as he moved a strand of your hair from your face
You wanted to pretend you didn’t hear these words, that he never told you he had to leave or when he did
A part of you wished he left without telling you but an even greater part was so grateful that he woke you
“Do you really have to go again?” You squeezed his gloved hand as you sat yourself up straighter
“You know how my father is... He wants to make sure things are... under control.. I promise I’ll be back in two days.”
The way he spoke, the words fell so effortlessly from those lips, his voice low and cutting through the space yet he spoke at a volume as if he was telling you a great secret
“You said that last time and he kept you with him for a couple weeks...” you thought back to that time
You were seven months pregnant, almost eight, at the time and it was like he fell off the face of the earth
You couldn’t go anywhere or do anything but reside in the manor and you couldn’t even talk to him
You were alone again
“Don’t go...”
the nights in bed alone, the cramps, emotional rollercoasters, motion sickness, nausea
You at least wished he could have called you
The nightmares you had, the worst case scenarios playing in your head until you woke up with tears streaming down your face, only for you to cry yourself silently back to sleep as fear pooled and plagued you from within
He could see the sadness in your eyes and he could remember vividly the mental torture he was put under
No communication to you and all he could at most to see you was through the hidden cameras all connected to his phone
Even checking in on you had to be done in secret, all to make sure that he was strong enough to continue on the family business even if he had to lose you or be away for unpredictable amounts of time
It was unbearable then and it was still unbearable now
He never asked to grow up into the business of the underworld, let alone take it over from his father at the prime age of 20 four years ago
He never wanted your life to be taken away when you two had already been together when he was recruited
“I’m sorry, darling, but you know I have to,” he sighed. “You know how my father is.” He cupped your cheek and kissed your temple then lips before he stood
“Am I going to lose you?” Your voice broke the silence, breaking through the white sound of the downpour outside
But you had stopped your question early
“Am I going to lose you today? Tomorrow? One day?”
He stood frozen in his place before he could reach for the knob
“No, Y/N. You won’t.” His eyes paused for a bit on you as he thought about his response, the fatigue of being a mother was already showing. “I’ll be able to call you this time and I’m the head now. The only title my father has to me now is father.”
“You won’t.” He stepped back over to you leaned down to kiss you again. “Not today at least…”
“I’ll call you at supper time, darling. Have a good day.”
You did your best to hold onto his hand as long as you could, to remember his touch, his voice, his scent, the way he looked before he walked out those doors
Because some days or nights, you never truly know if you would ever see him again
And it terrified you
The sound of the rain only seemed to get more intense now that he was gone and you were here
But now your day was beginning now that you were awake
You slipped out of the king sized bed, leaving the warmth you had slept in as the soft carpet at your feet, your toes sinking into the fibers
Brushing your teeth, showering in the grand bathroom of the manor, it was a life you surely never expected but here you were
Kiyoomi’s father and his entire family had built their name from nothing to the global known corporation that it was today
You dried your body off, finding what to wear today through the walk in closet and once that was found, it was breakfast
“Good morning, madam, shall I bring you your breakfast to the master suite?” Your right hand maid had greeted you as you stepped out as she carried the laundry with her
“Oh, thank you, Olivia, but I’ll head down to the kitchen after waking D/N,” you smiled to the older maid that had worked for the Sakusa family for decades
All the staff that worked and lived in the estates on the property outside of the manor were trained security, men and women, whose jobs were to protect the main family, to serve them, and to keep others who would pose a threat away and out, even if it meant killing them
But you always tried not to think or wonder about how many people these staff have killed or beat up or anything whenever you interacted with them, especially when they greeted you with a smile
They were there to protect you and to make sure that nothing and no would would ever harm your life
You stepped into the nursery, the wide room decorated with warm lights and stuffed animals, some more than twice the size of your daughter
“Hi,” you smiled so brightly seeing your baby’s eyes already open, looking up to you as she sat in her crib, holding onto her blankie. “Good morning precious,” you lowered the front gate of the crib so you could kneel down to her level
Sakusa sat in the limousine as he watched the scene of you and your daughter in the nursery, wishing he could just turn the car around and to stay home
Things were in balance, he knew this already but his father’s orders were orders he still had to respect
He clicked off his phone, tucking the device into his pocket as he was to be in the car for quite a bit of time before he would get to his father’s
The biggest smile spread on her face as she laughed seeing you, her bubbliness seeming to make all the gloominess disappear
“Let’s get you changed~” you chimed as you lifted the baby girl into your arms, getting a whiff of her heavy diaper and finding an outfit for her day
“Olivia?” You called into the custom intercom by the nursery’s closet, though there was practically one in every room
“Yes, madam?”
“Sorry for troubling you, but could you actually bring breakfast for D/N and I up to the upstairs loft? You could even send it up the dumbwaiter and that’s fine too.”
“Of course, would you like the usual?”
“Yes please, thank you.”
You carried your little girl toward the upstairs loft, one of your favorite areas of the house since it was significantly smaller - well almost - than the living room downstairs
The loft didn’t extend all the way downstairs like how the ground floor’s living room ceiling extended to the second floor
More than ten thousand square feet of property, more rooms in the manor than you knew what to do with them
Four guest bedrooms with full bathrooms, a grand study and two story “little” library, two main bedrooms in addition to the master bedroom and a nursery
So much space, all sorts of technologies, gadgets and gizmos of all sorts in the house
All the systems in the house was made by the Sakusa corporation to ensure security
This even included your and Kiyoomi’s custom made phones
There was also the basement- all sorts of fun activities to be done: a pool, pool table, living room area that opened up to the backyard with the bar and barbecue, the fire pit
and finally, there was the cellar that was the only place Kiyoomi had requested that you never go - and you never did
You knew that look in his eye, that tone of voice and you knew he had requested this for your best
And most importantly, there were three safe rooms, all three upstairs with hidden entryways to protect you, official guests, and anyone in the family
Before you knew it, Olivia had made her way upstairs with the breakfast as you played with your daughter in the loft, bouncing her on your lap sat on the wide couch
The loft was brightly lit and open, toys of all types for your daughter to play with as the TV played the morning kids show
As filled as the house was with the special staff and things to do, it still felt so lonely and empty as you sat there
You had tried to chat and converse with them but they never loosened up, always keeping all the formalities but it was never any use
The storm outside seemed to be getting worse as your eyes gazed to the horizon, spotting the trees at the edge of the estate where all their branches had been swaying in the wind, the paler, underside of their leaves revealed
Thunder began to rumble in the distance with the occasional flash of lightning but both unbothered your daughter and you as the two of you remained in the loft
You watched as she rolled about on a blanket, playing with her stuffed animals and the other interactive toys that played music to keep her entertained while you watched the TV, finding nothing remotely as entertaining to watch
But just before you could change the channel to yet another disappointing channel, your attention was pulled to your phone vibrating beside you, your eyes lighting up as you saw the caller ID
“You seem so bored,” Kiyoomi’s deep voice sounded through the phone but he spoke the truth
You were tired and bored but you didn’t want to sleep - it would only make you unable to sleep later tonight anyways
“I am,” you sighed as you muted the TV. “How far out have you gone?”
“Actually, not too far. Only about half an hour since there was a major accident on the highway so we had to take a detour. But traffic is terrible so we were stuck for quite a bit before we could actually exit,” Sakusa almost groaned thinking about the terrible accident
How he was stuck in a single place for practically twenty minutes
“Wow, do you know what happened?”
“Well there was a…” his voice drowned out in your ears as you could hear something that didn’t sound like rain or thunder - they were too distinctly different
Loud bangs echoed in the distance, bringing your attention elsewhere though all you could look was outside the wall window to the dark skies
But you couldn’t see anything except the normal background of the property but it was just silent again with the white noise of rain washing down the glass, followed by thunder and a flash of lightning as the storm brewed closer and closer
“I’m sorry what? I missed what you said... I think I heard… something weird..” you spoke as you looked outside the windows that looked to the back of the property
You could hear echoes of movement downstairs, the bustling business of the special staff in the house but it sounded standard... or so you thought
“What did you hear?”
“..I don’t know.. maybe it was the storm and I’m just distracted...” you smiled into the phone as you spoke while your daughter happily crawled to you, laying her head on your legs, her puffy cheeks round as ever
“Well, you two were my only source of entertainment so far this trip,” the corner of his lips curled as he picked off small specks off his suit
“That makes one… of us-“ your thought died out in a matter of seconds
You heard louder, clearer bangs while the staff that had been stationed with you just outside the loft talked over their ear coms to another elsewhere
Before you could continue your sentence or call, the bangs only got louder and your body reacted faster than you could say or think
Clear gunshots began firing at the front entrance, echoing off the high walls and ceilings of the manor while the staff worked on securing the doors and all other entrances and possible ones
“Y/N?” Sakusa could only hear the subtle commotion happening but it was clear you weren’t on the phone. “Shit shit shit..” he stayed on the line as he changed to the security cameras he had access to he used to watch you and your guys’ daughter
Looking through the camera surveillance, he caught a glimpse of you disappearing with your phone in hand while your arms carried your daughter as you disappeared toward the bedroom
“Turn back now,” Kiyoomi howled as his driver did just that, not wasting a single second
You ran into the master suite’s walk in closet that led to the entryway of one of the safe rooms, your baby girl in your arms as she held on to you  her whines already beginning before they would turn into cries
“Shh, it’s okay, baby, mama’s gonna protect you,” you smiled, whispering, your voice already shaky, lips trembling as you pressed a little kiss to the top of her head. “Even if it costs my life, precious.”
You moved, leaving the master suite and stayed low as you walked across the “bridge” that connected the loft to the other half of the house
Peeking down, you could hear groans of agony, puddles and splashes of of blood on the floor and walls, empty bullet shells on the ground, shards of glass and broken windows
“Search the house, find that bitch,” a deep voice yelled through the manor as for the first time since the loud bangs happened, it sounded so still, like any normal rainy day
But this was far from normal
You crawled across the marble flooring toward the library
There wasn’t any safe room here but the safe rooms were sure to be where they would look, whoever they were
They were able to get through the security, it seemed like the staff was dead
You silently stood as they scoured the lower levels - you could hear them and all the destruction they were havocking
The cars outside the window blurred into mere colors that passed as the limousine sped through the roads back towards the manor
To save time, they went toward the back roads — it was just the slightest bit longer but time could be shaved down since there were no cars anywhere
“Step on it!” Sakusa commanded as his men readied themselves. “Call in Unit 0,” he demanded as he kept his eyes on the cameras, trying to find you yet he couldn’t see you in the master suite’s safe room
Unit 0 being one of the few very highly trained professional assassins and killers who were at the disposal of the Sakusa family whenever needed
He scoured through the cameras, not even caring about all the destruction being done, all he needed to see was where you and your daughter were
You carefully entered the library, shutting the door behind you as you walked over the wooden floors carefully
Every step made your palms sweaty but your heart stopped after hearing a loud creak in the old floors
The worst part was that there was no way to lock the doors
outside of the door, you couldn’t hear too much but you could still clearly hear the storm as a great big window stretched from the floor to ceiling so all the lighting in here was natural
There was something about the walls surrounding the library that made it sound proof in a sense
You constantly bounced your baby girl in your arms to keep her calm as you tried to get a look outside as you approached one of the corners toward the window
“Search upstairs,” one of the men demanded as a handful of men ran upstairs. “Find her.”
The scoured through all the rooms, flipping every room apart, destroying things, tearing the curtains off, flipping the beds, wrecking the nursery
You peeked out the window that faced the front of the manor yet all you could see were broken things and to your horror, more lifeless bodies of the manor’s staff
But before you could look out any longer, a large rock was launched at the window, breaking the glass, shattering it
Your baby girl let out a loud cry in fear, making your heart drop
“No, D/N, shhhh, please, it’ll be okay, we’ll be okay.” You quickly pulled open the latch to the library’s hidden passage where the door was one of the bookcases
As soon as you closed the bookcase, you heard the door to the library burst open
Several men, guns ready
You scanned your finger print for the room to be safely locked however it wouldn’t let you. All you could do to make sure the room was locked was to see your body to keep the door shut and still
They walked through the wide open doorway to the library scanning the two open floors that was connected by two black steel staircases that wound their way up and down, connecting the two floors
“Shh, please,” you whimpered to your daughter as she cried into your chest as you stayed by the passage’s door so you could look out the peephole
They pulled books off the shelves, throwing them from the second level to the first, knocking the paintings off the walls, ripping them by sliding their knives through the canvas’, kicking them, breaking the frames
The ground shook as you heard a a loud boom, making you jump in your spot, the ground rumbling and shaking below where you sat
It sounded like a bomb went off on the lower level but you assumed it was the cars in the garage since you could hear the repeating alarm sounding off
Your daughters cries began to start back up at the loud noise, as you did your best to shush her
“Shhh, it’s okay,” you whispered to her as you wiped her tears, keeping her face to your chest as you stroked your trembling hand down her back as tears trickled down your cheeks and dripped off your chin
The limousine slid on the gravel outside the manor as Sakusa’s men sprang to action from the vehicle
Kiyoomi stayed in his seat, continuously scouring through the cameras but you were yet to be found
He couldn’t find a single trace of you
His men, as well as unit 0, entered through the blown open entrance, broken shards of glass crunching beneath their steps as they surrounded the estate the best they could, splitting up to eliminate the intruders
“Where are you, Y/N?” His heart hammered in his chest as he desperately tried to find you yet nothing
But before he could look any further, his heart dropped seeing the red system failure message. Whoever these people were, they were impressive, but not fast enough
Kiyoomi now meant business now that he had no access to actually see if you were okay
He ran out of the limousine as gunshots could be heard all throughout the house as half his men made their way to the upper level while the other half wiped out the intruders on the lower level
He followed behind unit 0, making their way upstairs
He clung onto his gun tightly in his hand, finger ready on the trigger as he barged into the master suite, firing two bullets into the chest and head of a large man as he was pillaging the closets
All the precious jewelry he bought for you were now stained in the pool of the filthy blood of the man who had the audacity to enter the premises
His heart almost dropped seeing him in the closet in the first place but it didn’t seem like the man noticed the entrance to the safe room behind the clothes on the hangers
As he pushed the luxurious wardrobe aside opening the door and to his fear, you were nowhere to be seen
More gunshots sounded off, echoing through the halls, sounding off the walls
He couldn’t focus, his thoughts incoherent, unfinished sentences running in his head as he just ran, killing those in his way to find you
A gun war was going off throughout the library as Sakusa’s men fired at the intruders on both levels but they had great firepower too
Both sides hid behind the marble pillars, the different bookshelves and furniture in the room as the rain showered in
Your baby girl cried loudly, her shaken cries sounding off throughout the passage
“No, no, no, please, baby.” Your heart raced as you dared to look out the peephole, only for it to drop as you saw a man you didn’t recognize yell something to another man near him
The man he yelled to fired more shots while the other one approached the passage entrance, banging noises coming through the bookshelf
“She’s in here! Hold them off!” The man yelled
“No, no, no.” Tears welled in your eyes as you did your best to keep the door closed but there was no actual way to since this was just a simple passageway
Your daughter cried loudly in your arms while you gave it your all to keep the door closed
Amongst all the shots being fired, Kiyoomi heard the words the man yelled and then it clicked
He knew where you were
“No.” This one word repeated in his head as he pushed through the front, racing past the bullets being shot towards him as he ran on pure adrenaline
“Boss, no!” His men yelled but this only got the intruders to focus on him, giving them the opening to shoot them all
Kiyoomi shot the man closer to him in the legs before letting his body move on pure killer instinct as he grabbed the man who had fallen to his knees by his jaw, snapping his neck
The other man changed his focus to Kiyoomi as he stood to his feet while the other struggled to pull his gun from his holster
Kiyoomi towered over him as his body moved on his own
He kicked the man to the wall, pressing the barrel of his gun to the man’s chin, pulling the trigger without a second thought
You squeeze your eyes shut, facing the other way from the door, bracing yourself
“I love you. Mama loves you, baby,” you whispered as you cried, a loud rumbling filling your ears as you felt the door being forced open
This was it
You were going to die
Your daughter was doing to die
you let out a blood curtling scream feeling the hands of whoever grab onto you, pulling you, kicking your legs to try to fight
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N!” Kiyoomi’s familiar voice sounded louder and louder over the rumbling you heard in your ears from clenching and bracing your body and your daughter’s
“It’s me, It’s just me!” He soothed you as he turned you
You couldn’t explain or even begin to describe the relief you felt wash through your body, your heart racing and slowing down at the same time as you broke down, your cries mixing with your daughter’s
“You’re safe, I’m here,” Kiyoomi pulled you into his arms, your body shaking terribly in his arms as you cried into his chest, all the fear you felt flooding your senses
“I know, I’m sorry this happened, but you’re okay. Everything will be okay,” he whispered as he pulled you into his lap, keeping the passage door somewhat closed
You were already put through enough today and he didn’t need you to see the second degree murder crime scene he had committed right outside
“I’m here, I’m here.” He reached up and pulled his mask off as he kissed the top of your head all over, wiping away your tears with his thumbs but you couldn’t stop crying
But that was entirely fine
“But Y/N,” he held your face in his bare hands, his normal gloves off as he stroked his thumb over your cold, damp cheeks
“Why didn’t you go into the safe rooms, darling?” His own voice was unsteady, his lips quivered, eyes teary. “I looked for you and I couldn’t find you and I thought I lost you..” His voice broke off as he gathered himself the best he could, taking deep breaths
Seeing Kiyoomi like this, it broke your heart even more
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what… I was just scared and- and-“ It hurt you so much
Everything about today did
But just this moment was Kiyoomi, it also touched you
He was such a stoic man, usually one to show a softer, affectionate side with you but this was the first time you saw him shed tears
A man who had taken so many lives was now showing his true emotions for the two lives he would give his own live for a hundred times over if it meant you and your daughter was okay
“I know, I know, but you’re safe,” he let out a deep, relieving breath as he hugged your head closer, your body shaking uncontrollably in his arms
“And hey, shhh, it’s okay baby. Papa’s here.” He stroked your daughter’s head as she sort of calmed down as the two of you sat together, doing your best as parents to shoo away her sadness while his men did their best to first and foremost clear the bodies and blood
You absolutely did not need to see that after today
“You two are both safe.” He breathed as he pulled you two impossibly closer, letting the shakiness of his own heart disperse
“You’re safe…”
