I think My Hero Academia being the first anime I ever watched really messed up my perception of like... Fandom and fan content?

Not because of things that the my hero fandom has taken out of control, I've been pretty fortunate enough to have curated an experience for myself devoid of discourse and drama, but more so like...

The My Hero Academia fandom tag on ao3 last I checked currently had the MOST fics in comparison to any other anime tag on that site

I never had to want for new content, I shipped really popular pairs, if there was a niche concept for Tododeku it was already written, I didn't have to do any work to find "BNHA characters as vines" memes on YouTube, there's so many of them and they were my first introduction to vines, the amount of BNHA animatics I watched was insane

Now I join the fandom of literally any other anime (cough cough Bungo Stray Dogs and Moriarty the Patriot cough cough) and in comparison there is zero content 😭

I swear I scroll past the same few fics every time I filter by a tag on ao3, there's like twelve YouTube animatics, I have to actively go digging to find fanart and it's hard to find someone who makes consistent fanart of the shows unlike the die hard BNHA fans that were dedicated to ONLY posting BNHA

Which in the long run aren't things I mind, it just makes it that more exciting when I do find a piece of fanart or a fic I really like I just think the differences between the number of fans is astonishing
