The TOEFL iBT exam is a standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native speakers. It is used by universities and colleges around the world to assess the English language skills of international students.
Tumblr media
The TOEFL iBT exam is constantly being updated to reflect the latest trends in English language learning and use. In 2023, there will be a number of new changes to the TOEFL iBT exam, including:
Shorter test duration: The TOEFL iBT exam will now take less than two hours to complete, instead of three hours. This is to make the test more accessible to students who have busy schedules.
A new Writing task: The Writing task will now be called "Writing for an Academic Discussion". In this task, students will be asked to read a passage and then write a response that discusses the main points of the passage and provides their own insights.
A shorter Reading section: The Reading section will now have two passages instead of three. This is to make the test more manageable for students.
The removal of unscored questions: All questions on the TOEFL iBT exam will now be scored. This will give students a more accurate assessment of their English language skills.
These are just some of the new changes to the TOEFL iBT exam in 2023. If you are planning to take the TOEFL iBT exam, it is important to get top coaching for TOEFL exam to help you be well prepared for these changes.

New Writing task: The Writing task will now be called "Writing for an Academic Discussion". In this task, students will be asked to read a passage and then write a response that discusses the main points of the passage and provides their own insights. This is a more challenging task than the previous Writing task, but it is also more reflective of the kind of writing that students will be expected to do in college and university.

Removal of unscored questions: All questions on the TOEFL iBT exam will now be scored. This means that students will receive a score for every question that they answer, regardless of whether the question is actually scored or not. Studying Abroad and its benefits
Tumblr media
Typically, studying abroad involves enrolling in a specific program or exchange that allows students to attend classes, participate in research projects, or engage in internships or cultural immersion activities. These programs can vary in duration, ranging from a few weeks to a full academic year or longer. Students may choose to study abroad for a single semester, an entire academic year, or for shorter summer or winter sessions.
Studying abroad provides several benefits, including:
1. Cultural Immersion: It allows students to fully immerse themselves in a different culture, experiencing the customs, traditions, and daily life of the host country. This firsthand exposure enhances cultural understanding and promotes personal growth.
2. Academic Enrichment: Studying abroad often provides access to high-quality educational institutions and programs that may offer unique courses, research opportunities, or specialized fields of study. Students can broaden their academic perspectives and gain a global outlook on their chosen field.
3. Language Acquisition: Studying abroad provides an ideal environment for learning or improving a foreign language. Being surrounded by native speakers and using the language in everyday situations can greatly enhance language skills and fluency.
4. Personal Development: Living and studying in a foreign country challenges students to adapt to new environments, become more independent, and develop resilience. It promotes personal growth, self-confidence, and the ability to navigate unfamiliar situations.
5. Global Networking: Studying abroad offers the opportunity to build an international network of friends, classmates, and professional contacts. These connections can be valuable in future career endeavors and may provide a global perspective on various issues.
6. Career Advancement: Studying abroad can enhance career prospects by demonstrating qualities such as adaptability, cross-cultural competence, and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone. Employers often value the diverse experiences and global perspective gained from studying abroad.
7. Personal Fulfillment: Many students find studying abroad to be a life-changing experience, fostering a sense of adventure, exploration, and personal fulfillment. It allows individuals to challenge themselves, broaden their horizons, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
It’s worth noting that studying abroad requires careful planning and consideration of factors such as academic requirements, financial considerations, visa processes, and personal readiness for living in a foreign country. However, for those who are prepared, studying abroad can be an unforgettable and transformative experience.

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to students utilise their skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing and is one of the most widely respected and recognised English-language tests in the world.
Most people who take the TOEFL are planning to study at a university or college where English is the medium of instruction. However, the test is also used by immigration departments to issue residential and work visas, medical and licensing agencies for professional certification purposes, apart from individuals who simply want to assess their understanding of, and proficiency in, the English language.
For students planning to study overseas, TOEFL helps prove that they have the English skills that will actually be needed in an academic classroom. The test is composed of 100% academic tasks and questions. Therefore, many universities and colleges worldwide consider it to be one of the most appropriate tests of English while deciding on admissions.
Preparation is key to getting a good TOEFL score. Investing time and effort in preparing for the exam is a critical element in the test taking strategy. APEX offers quality TOEFL coaching that ensures students get the best possible preparation.

IELTS Vs. TOEFL Vs. PTE – Which Test is Best for You?
The main difference between IELTS, TOEFL and PTE is how the speaking component of the test is assessed. While the TOEFL is ONLY computer-based, the IELTS is both paper-based and computer-based. So if you are more comfortable taking a paper-based exam, you can choose IELTS. PTE, on the other hand, is a fully computerized test.

Can we talk about how exploitative the TOEFL test is? The test itself is already expensive ($270), but they'll charge a $40 'late fee' if you want to book a test less than a week ahead. Since the test is online, they literally dont need to do any more preparation for which they would need that $40. Heck, i cant even imagine them needing it for the paper exam. They also offer a $30 practise test, which you are allowed to take exactly once. Seriously, fuck ETS. Whoever is in charge over at ETS is making ridiculous amounts of money.
