Bryce Quinlan's true home: A compilation of all the evidence.
[ACOTAR, CC and slight TOG spoilers!]
It seems that the consensus among fans is that Bryce will return back to Midgard at the end of CC3, and that most of the story will be wrapped up. On the contrary, I think it's just getting started, and instead believe that:
Bryce Quinlan's true home is Prythian. She will be the Starborn Queen, and ruler of the Dusk Court.
And not just Bryce. I think Hunt, Ruhn and everyone else will be joining her too... because (to put it bluntly).. Midgard is fucked.
Allow me to go through the evidence.
Bryce is repeatedly connected to dusk.
One of the first thing Hunt notices about Bryce is that her scent is of the "first stars at nightfall." Nightfall is another word for dusk. SJM often uses scent to foreshadow a character's home (ie. Rowan of TOG smelling like Terrasen, and Rhys smelling like Velaris).
Tumblr media
Bryce has been obsessed with Pegasus dolls since book 1. It's then no coincidence that the Pegasus's in Prythian came from the Prison Island... where the Dusk Court (most likely) used to be. (And... think about that Pegasus doll that SJM included in the CC3 reveal video...)
Bryce often has her nails painted in "twilight" colours (another word for dusk), and even her damn nipples are described as "dusk pink" (lmfao).
"Dusk's Truth" seems to be of great importance, and I'm willing to bet that everything Danika did - from giving Bryce the Horn, to even her own death - was so that Bryce could escape Midgard and reach Prythian and the Dusk Court. Recall Baxian's words; that Danika was searching for a way into a new world - one without the Asteri.
Tumblr media
The home of the Starborn fae isn't Midgard, it's Prythian - the Dusk Court. Bryce Quinlan is heir to the Starborn fae. She is Queen Theia's descendant.
Bryce is also connected to Prythian.
The star on Bryce's chest is a "beacon" for Prythian, and glows for people who also originate from the ACOTAR world (I don't think people understand how big a deal this is...). If Bryce returns to Midgard permanently, then she'll forever wear a star on her chest that glows for another world.
Tumblr media
Bryce is the Horn. If you subscribe to the theory that the Horn is the 4th Dread Trove item, with the other 3 being in Prythian, then she is obviously needed there - especially when ACOSF hinted that all 4 items joined together allows for something big to happen...
The prophecy about the knife and the sword suggests that the ACOTAR and CC fae are going to be reunited. Bryce owns this prophetic sword - she has a big part to play (one that surely can't be fulfilled if Bryce just pops into Prythian for a quick visit, and then leaves again... and really, what would be the point of that?)
Foreshadowing that Bryce will be a queen.
It is repeatedly stated that Bryce bears the exact light of the Starborn Queen.
Tumblr media
Bryce's name in Hunt's phone is 'Bryce Is a Queen.'
Tumblr media
Hunt himself often remarks on Bryce's queenly demeanour:
Tumblr media
And in CC2, Hunt again thinks to himself that the 'princess' title isn't enough for Bryce... that she is something more...
Tumblr media
Then in the final CC2 chapters, we see Ruhn pleading with Bryce to become Queen:
Tumblr media
To which Cormac agrees, and then says that the future of their people moving forward, all depends upon Bryce...
Tumblr media
And most importantly, Ruhn's last words to Bryce: "Long live the Queen."
And now that I'm thinking about it, it is repeatedly stated that Hel's armies strike at Bryce's command. The entirety of Hel... await Bryce's orders. As if she too is their Queen. (It won't surprise me if the Dusk Court is strongly intertwined with Hel, there's SO much evidence... but that's for another post).
Other characters and their connection to Prythian.
Bryce isn't the only one with ties to Prythian. We also have:
Ruhn and Rhys looking identical.
Tumblr media
The Asteri originating from Prythian, and making clear that their true goal is to go back there to get revenge (so the plot is likely to follow in this direction...)
The Princes of Hel are connected to Prythian: the Illyrian's and Hel's armies have the same wings, we have a "Lord Thanatos" in the Hewn City, the 7 layers of the library, that "cat presence" watching...
When Bryce is taken to the town house in Prythian, she remarks that the interior decorating is the same as Jesiba's and the Autumn King's - they are both likely from Prythian.
The Bone Carver drew three interlocking circles in the sand, which is the exact symbol of Parthos (and the symbol of Bryce's Archesian amulet). The Bone Carver's brother is Koschei (the upcoming ACOTAR antagonist) - he is also likely connected to Parthos.
The Under-King is described exactly like The Suriel (they're likely the same species). Bryce's star even glows for the Under-King, which tells us he is from Prythian.
Bryce's star also glows for Cormac and the Avallen fae; they're likely from Prythian also (and the Dusk Court). In fact, one of the first thing Bryce notices when she lands in Prythian, is that everyone is wearing the same clothes as the Avallen fae.
The Thunderbirds (and likely Hunt) were connected to "Dusk's Truth." (So, Bryce ending up in Prythian isn't just about the Bryce x Azriel theory...).
And this leads me to my most controversial opinion of all: although unbeknownst to readers, Crescent City is an ACOTAR spin-off series. That's not to say it can't stand on it's own, or that is has lesser value - but rather that almost all characters have ties back to the ACOTAR world - and this is surely not a coincidence.
I truly believe that SJM is planning a full multiverse crossover series between all 3 of her worlds, and CC was the series needed to bridge ACOTAR and TOG together. But, more on this later...
We don't want the characters staying in Midgard. They need to get out.
Midgard is entirely different to the ACOTAR and TOG worlds. The Asteri entered Midgard, absolutely obliterated everyone and everything, and then built their own world from the ground up. Every building, road, every inch of this world - was created and orchestrated by the Asteri. Their power and influence is absolute. Bryce realises this too:
Tumblr media
We see the death camps in Kavalla... but I would argue that the whole of Midgard is one giant death camp. Any sense of freedom... is an illusion.
And because the Asteri control everything, they see everything, and know everything. I can't see how any of the CC characters will overthrow the Asteri in Midgard (I mean, they get close to Rigelus at the end of CC2, and Bryce has to world jump to escape, and Hunt and Ruhn are facing slavery, or worse. And yet we're to believe that SIX Asteri will be defeated in one book...?)
Tumblr media
However, if this is all part of a larger scheme, where a multiverse book series in the works, and ACOTAR, TOG, and CC characters will rally together to defeat the Asteri (TOG Spoilers - as well as Orcus and Mantyx... they're still out there, don't forget), then maybe there's a chance.
And, let's not also forget that Bryce bargained away her resting place to the Under-King. If Bryce dies in Midgard... she's screwed. She has no chance of reincarnation, or eternal peace, or... whatever happens after death. But, if she dies in Prythian, it's a different story...
Midgard is doomed.
Following the final chapters of CC2, it is clear that Midgard is heading towards imminent destruction.
We know that Bryce has been thrown into another world. Ruhn is in the Asteri dungeons, his future uncertain. Cormac was killed. Do we really think the two fae kings; the Autumn King, and The Avallen King, are just going to sit back and accept this? Let the Asteri murder and torture their children?
We also know that the leader of the human rebels, Pippa Spetsos, was killed. I can't think of anything that would enrage the rebels more (and their mech suits, the synth - everything they've been brewing, feels like it's reaching its climax...)
Then we have Apollion mentioning that the 'Northern Rift' is groaning, and that he senses war approaching. (And for what it's worth, I'm not sure I trust Apollion...)
Tumblr media
Lastly, we are still yet to see the consequences of Tharion's actions, and the River Queen's wrath. It is stated multiple times that the River Queen has the power to flood Lunathion if she wished, and I can't help but feel that is relevant.
The flooding of Midgard.
When reading CC1 and CC2, did you happen to notice the sheer amount of times it is raining?
SJM even makes a point to tell readers that there is record rainfall... (and thank you to @/highladyfeyre on TT for her theory on this!)
Tumblr media
Then, in Throne of Glass, Aelin falls through the worlds, and sees the ACOTAR world and the Crescent City world. However, she also sees a world entirely covered in water.
Linking to this, in ACOSF, Merrill explains that all of the worlds are stacked on top of each other, even sharing the same space - but what separates them is TIME. Again going back to TOG where Aelin falls through the worlds, it says this; "She was falling. Falling and being thrown. The Wyrdgate sealed behind her, and yet she was not home. As it closed, ALL WORLDS OVERLAPPED. And she now fell through them."
If the worlds are separated by time, then it can be argued that Aelin wasn't looking at separate planets - she was looking at the same world, throughout differing time periods (more evidence for this here). Meaning, the world covered in water... is still yet to happen.
And following CC3, what is the final Crescent City book to be called...?
House of Many Waters.
The Multiverse series.
You might be thinking - what the hell is the point of Midgard flooding?
Well, the 'flooding of Midgard' is a key event in Norse Mythology, and signals the arrival of Ragnarok (a huge war across all of the worlds, that resulted in the end of life as they know it).
Another term for Ragnarok, is "Twilight of the Gods."
The same name as Sarah's WIP book series... one that she appeared to draft at the same time as Crescent City...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Twilight is another word for DUSK. It all just fits too perfectly to be a coincidence.
Thus, I wholeheartedly believe that CC3 and CC4, as well as the final ACOTAR books, are the precursors to SJM's endgame series - Twilight of the Gods. Where the ACOTAR, CC and TOG characters will unite for a universal war, in order to stop the end of the world.
"But SJM said ACOTAR and CC will be standalone!"
Firstly, with all due respect to SJM, her word in interviews is not always gospel. She is known to deceive fans in interviews; for example, in 2020, SJM said a multiverse crossover would never happen, and in her most recent interview, she revealed that she has actually been planning the crossover for years. I'm not suggesting SJM has malicious intent, if anything, it's the opposite - she does not want to spoil the books for us.
Secondly, SJM never confirmed that ACOTAR and CC are both entirely standalone reads (if they were, she'd never go forth with the crossover). Instead, she said that you don't need to read ACOTAR to understand CC3. That makes sense, and to me just means that she is going to include extra contextual information to help out those fans who are indeed standalone readers (which won't be hard, because Bryce will be learning everything about Prythian for the first time too).
But the most important point is this - the multiverse crossover changes everything, and 100% changes the ACOTAR world as well.
As proof of this, consider Rhys. He has been studying the universe intently for years now. He even built his own orrery - his own map of the universe. As of CC2, he has just met a girl from another world. This girl will almost certainly be telling him about the Asteri, and that their true goal is to go back to Prythian - Rhys's home - and exact revenge.
So, do you really think that Rhys will learn about the existence of other worlds, the existence of the Asteri (who actively want to hurt his loved ones), and then just.. forget about it in future books? Send Bryce back to Midgard alone, simply wishing her well, and then going back to his ordinary life? No.
Elain's book.
As even further proof of this, consider that Elain's story will be the centre of the next ACOTAR book.
In ACOSF, we are told that there are three prominent mountains in Prythian, known as the "three sister peaks." The mountain where 'Under the Mountain' took place (and where Amarantha held people captive), Ramiel, and the mountain of the Prison Island.
Tumblr media
Feyre conquered the first mountain; when she defeated Amarantha.
Nesta conquered Ramiel.
Which leaves the third mountain, the Prison Island mountain, to the third sister... Elain.
And what is the Prison Island most likely to be....? The Dusk Court.
I'm willing to bet that Elain's story intertwines heavily with Crescent City also.
That all of this... is so much bigger than we can imagine.

Look, I KNOW that SJM writing how Elain looks awful in black, like it leeched the colour from her, is meant to signify that she doesn't belong in the Night Court, but like, imagine it's ACTUALLY foreshadowing that Lucien is going to die in Elucien's book, and so Elain will start wearing black dresses, which leech any life and vibrancy away from her (the opposite of Day Court dresses, I'm guessing), because she would be in mourning. Wow, now THAT would be great foreshadowing!
(And a great villlain origin arc, if you ask me - If SJM had the right creativity at the right time, maybe we could have had a plot twist that Meave from ToG was actually once from Prythian and she was known as Elain).

Martin’s room is still bare.
Pax rifles through it, one night, when they haven’t been told the next thing that needs to be done and Martin’s lying with his face in the pillows half-asleep and they’re bored. It’s so bizarre, this room – bigger than most of the inns Pax used to stay in down Blackwood way and richer by far, the walls hung with tapestry and the floors plush with rugs whose patterns are just as intricate. Everything on the bed is probably silk. The legs of the desk and sides of the bookshelves are carved beautifully. And yet, lavish as it is, they spend so little time in it. The colours and materials, however tastefully matched, feel gaudy. The air is heavy and solemn.
Maybe it’s that Martin is so blatantly uncomfortable with it – more so than he’s uncomfortable with most things. He always walks around the rug instead of over it as though he’s afraid of dirtying the careful weave. And even though it’s been ages, there is nothing of him in the room. Whenever he’s gone it’s as if he was never there at all.
It's honestly a bit concerning at this point.
“What are you doing,” Martin says, too flat to even be a question, voice muffled by the copious cushions.
“I’m looking in your wardrobe,” Pax tells him. She flicks through the handful of neatly hung up coats and folded tunics and the two pairs of trousers right down the bottom before she finds something right at the back – crumpled and with several recognisable stains, still smelling, after all this time, faintly of blood and smoke. “You still have this? I thought we chucked it on the road.”
Martin peers blearily around, blinking – when he sees the robes Pax holds, he freezes, eyes wide open. It takes him a moment to speak.
“I couldn’t throw it away,” he says.
The robe is sooty black fabric, a bit itchy at the seams, the material worn thin in several places. It’s filthy, too. It’s clearly had a wash since Pax last saw it before they got new togs on the road to Chorrol, but that’s done just about nothing for the bloodstains.
“Hm,” Pax says. He’s thinking.
He gets it, what Martin means. The ruined vestment is about all he has from Kvatch, from life before. That and the silver knife, and Pax has already noticed how he slots that into his belt every day and sleeps with it on his nightstand.
“I know I should get rid of it.” Martin’s hair is tousled, falling all over his face, and he’s managing to sound both serious and muzzy. “It’s a bit disgusting. And it isn’t wearable. But throwing it away feels so callous, and I don’t know what else to do.”
Pax is thinking. Pax is getting an idea. “I reckon I could repurpose it.”
“I don’t think there’s enough salvageable fabric to make something else out of, Pax.”
Not for another garment, no. “Can I try?”
Martin drops his head back into the pillows.
“I’ll give it back after,” Pax persists.
Martin rolls onto his back. “Fine, then. It isn’t as though you could wreck it more.”
Pax bundles the fabric up and tucks it under their arm. “Great,” they say. “Now go to sleep!”
“You’re the one disturbing me!” Martin protests, but Pax is already out of the room.
Down in the shared room with all the little pallets, Pax nicks someone’s fabric scissors and cuts right up the side seam. Martin was right – most of the material is ruined – but Pax reckons there’s enough. He spreads it all out to get a feel for the sizing. He’s not got sewing chalk, doesn’t want to ask for it, so he just kind of eyeballs the shapes and sizes, cutting bigger pieces than he thinks he needs just in case. He’s pretty sure he fucks it up. It probably doesn’t matter.
Pax ends up leaving the temple the next day. Word’s spread about a Gate on the northern Red Ring Road, and it’s not more than a couple weeks there and back if she’s quick. It’ll give Martin time with the book. She tucks her shoddy piecework into her mending bag, along with her scrap fabric fold of needles and enough thread for an emergency. It’ll give her something to do on the road.
It does. Finicky stitchwork is a good way to pass evenings alone.
She keeps at it until everything is joined and there’s only one bit that needs stitching up, and then she stuffs it back in the mending bag and leaves it until she’s done with the Gate.
It’s not even a hard one. Not worth the trouble of travelling. But it wasn’t that far, and people were worrying, and what is a hero for if not this? So they close the Gate, and rent a room in an inn in a town a half-hour’s walk from its shell. They keep their armour on when they go there (because they kind of sort of want the attention) but they end up getting more than they bargained for – everyone is so cloyingly grateful that it feels a bit suffocating. (It’s nice. They liked that they helped people. They forget, sometimes, that closing the Gates helps real actual people living their day-to-day lives. But it’s a lot.) The woman in the sewist shop even refuses to let them pay for the bundle of raw fleece they want, which makes them feel so wrong-footed they have to pinch a handful of beads and threads from her piffling haberdashery section just to make the situation feel normal.
The threads are the fancy kind – six strands, in pretty colours. The beads are smooth red wood.
Pax stays up in the inn, digging the project out of the mending bag and stuffing the fleece in until the tight little stitches look like they’re about to burst. They save the details – the coloured thread, the buttons – to work on while they’re travelling back north.
Martin isn’t in the big hall when Pax throws the doors open a week later. He checks the room with the bookshelves, and then Martin’s special, painfully empty chamber, before tracking him to the kitchen. He drops his bag on the table.
Martin looks up. He’s sitting with a plate of eggs and a book – not the Xarxes – open on the table. He puts down his fork. “You’re back! Hello. How was your journey?”
“It wasn’t much of one, Martin Priest,” Pax says, digging for the mending bag in the bottom of their pack. “I was only gone two weeks. I’ve got something for you.”
“Oh?” Martin closes his book. “My curiosity is piqued. And really – would it kill you to say hello back?”
“People who critique me don’t get presents,” Pax tells him. “Close your eyes.”
Martin rolls his eyes good-naturedly, but he shuts them. Pax scoops the repurpose-the-priest-robes project out of the mending bag and deposits it on the table next to the plate of eggs.
“You can look now.”
Martin opens his eyes and looks.
And keeps looking.
An uncomfortable amount of time passes, before he says, thick-voiced, “It’s a mouse.”
Pax is impressed. It’s supposed to be a mouse, though it looks more like a long-tailed lump than anything else. It’s got shiny wooden beads for eyes and fancywork all down its sides. (It’s been a while since Pax sewed anything, but they think the simple ornamental pattern of swirls and stars turned out all right. They were always better at needlepoint than pattern-work.) The tail at the back is ringed with a rainbow of stitches.
Martin asks, “Did you make this?” and Pax nods. He asks, “Is this my old robe?” and she nods again. His eyes look shiny.
Pax either did a very good job or fucked up royally, is what she’s getting from this.
Martin stares at it a minute more.
Then he says, “Can I hug you?”
Pax grumbles as if it’s a great trial, but they step around the empty dining-chair and bend a bit awkwardly in front of where he’s sitting. Martin pulls them in – it’s a really weird angle and it makes their back twinge – and he holds them so tight they’re not sure where to put their hands. They hug him back as best they can. With their hands on his back and his face half-pressed into their shoulder, they can feel him shaking.
“Please don’t get weepy on me,” Pax says.
She hears Martin sniff. Somewhere below her ear he mumbles, “Too late.”
It really is a very awkward angle.
“It wasn’t supposed to make you cry.”
“Yes, well, I didn’t think I would cry either, but life is full of surprises.”
Pax pats him clumsily on the head. “Is it,” she says, sounding more anxious than she thinks she feels, “is it a good surprise? Is it good crying?”
Martin finally pulls away and wipes his face with his sleeve. He picks up the stuffed thing, turns it over in his hands, traces his fingers along the needlework. “It’s a wonderful mouse,” he says, only marginally less tearful, “and you’re the most wonderful person I’ve ever met, and I’m not sure why I’m crying but I’m not upset with you.”
Pax squeezes Martin’s wrist, because he’s not sure what else to do; some flighty thing in the pit of his stomach feels settled, like a bird’s first nest after a long migration. Then he steals a bite of boiled egg from Martin’s plate. He’s not sure what else to do.
Martin puts the mouse in pride of place on that ridiculous pile of pillows, and has a hand on it every time he goes to sleep.

2) Yesterday, after finally daring to reread and actually finish The Assassin's Blade (my first book into the Maasverse) because my baby SAM CORTLAND DESERVED BETTER. I was so devastated after reading it the first time, that I couldn't read ANYTHING (not even the rest of TOG) for MORE THAN A YEAR after it (until ACOTAR 🤣). So yeah, I cried when I finished it yesterday. I'm a hopeless romantic who gets invested too quickly, so I learned my lesson there - both in books and in real life 😆
3) Nope. But planning on having ones in the next five years so I can name them Azriel, Cassian and/or Feyre lol
4) Footie ⚽️the longest, but I've also done 🏇🤺🏐🏑🏸🏉🏈 not because I was particularly athletic, but because my parents wanted me to have a hobby besides reading, baking, and sitting in my room daydreaming - so I got to try everything for a couple of years each. 🏇 and 🤺were my faves but they were too expensive.

Can I know what pattern you used to made the little runaan and ethari
sure thing! (patterns under the cut)
disclaimer: I don't have patterns for Runaan's clothes, just pointers, because I was winging it at that point x_x
EDIT: if anyone wants to try to make these and struggles at some point (or needs those additional patterns), feel free to just reach out to me and I'll do what I can to help. Don't worry, you won't be overstepping at all and I'll more than gladly help a fellow TDP fan!
okay, so for the BODIES I used a pattern from a book called "Crochet Cute Dolls With Mix-and-Match Outfits" by Miya:
Tumblr media
it's a purchasable book so I'd rather not share it publicly 👀
I'm sharing my own patterns below:
EARS
Sc 4 in a magic ring (4). Slst into the first st and ch 1.
Sc in each st (4). Slst and ch 1.
Sc, inc 2, sc (6). Slst and ch 1.

Sc 2, (in hdc: inc, sc, inc, sc, inc), dec (11). Slst & ch 1.
Switching 3,5 mm hook size: sc 2, (dec, sc) x3 (8). Slst & ch 1.
Slst 3, sc 5 (8). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing the horn onto the head.
I also used a little bit of wire to help accentuate the curvature of the horns. I did play with increases and decreases in the pattern so they do curve on their own but I thought the wire might be a nice failsafe.
Here are patterns for all of ETHARI'S CLOTHES:

It was my first time making patterns and I was in a bit of a rush to finish him before his birthday so they're not perfect, but if you ever need help with them, just hmu, we'll figure it out.
I first made his boots and then his pants in order to make sure I didn't mess up the length. Then the crop top and finally the belt to fill the space in between. Now I'm thinking that perhaps removing one row of single crochets from the crop top and adding it to the belt might give him a look more accurate to his original design but I think the way I did it he also turned out okay so it's just an option.
There are clasps at the back of his crop top and belt, and on Runaan's vest. The flap is sewn onto the belt but if you want it to be removable, just add more rows in purple and stuff it in between the belt and the doll while closing the clasp.
Unfortunately, for RUNAAN'S CLOTHES, the notes were a mess and I don't really have anything. They're similar to Ethari's with slight changes:
his pants don't have the increases, they're just sc for ~7 or 8 rows, then joining and continuing just like with Ethari's (also hmu if you need a diagram showing how to join the pant legs);
his boots are the same as Ethari's up to row 12, in row 13 I did bigger stitches in the middle - go from sc to hdc, then dc, back to hdc and continue with sc (if you want that part to be higher, go sc, hdc, dc, tc, dc, hdc, sc); then for row 14 change colour to brown and slst around;
his vest is a foundation chain of the desired length (I think I did about 36 but it ended up being a bit too loose - it all depends on your own doll's size), then 4 rows of dc - but in the 3rd row I did 2 dc-2-tog (about 8-9 sts from both edges, right below the arms holes, 1 per arm hole), then in row 5 I did ~8 dc, then ch 4/5, skip 3/4 (arm hole), dc 8, ch 4/5, skip 4/5 and dc in each st until the end of the row. Join yarn at the edge of the arm hole and ch ~8 and slst into the other corner for the double strap. (I have a similar diagram to show more or less what's going on)
PENDANTS
In purple, sc 6 in a magic ring, but while doing the 6th, do an invisible colour change to gray (6).
Slst around (6). Slst into the first st and fasten off, weave in the ends.
Then, join yellow yarn in that last slst and ch 12 (add or remove chains to get the desired length) and fasten off but leave a long tail end to tie it at the back. Repeat the same process in the same slst. Then, you can tie the ends at the back, make knots and trim.
HORN CUFFS
Ch 14. Slst into the first ch, ch 1.
Sc 14 (14). Slst into the first st and ch 1. Flip so you work normally.
Sc 3, dec, sc 4, dec, sc 3 (12). Slst and ch 1.
Sc in each st (12). Slst and ch 1.
Sc 4, hdc, dc 2, hdc, sc 4 (12). Slst and ch 1.
Slst around (12). Fasten off and weave in the ends. For Ethari's cuffs, make a few vertical sts in turquoise somewhere in the middle at the front for the gems (wrap the yarn vertically a few times around a stitch).
HORN TIPS (ETHARI)
Sc 5 in a magic ring (5). Slst into the first st and ch 1.
Sc in each st (5). Slst and ch 1.
Inc, sc 2, inc, sc (7). Slst and ch 1.
Sc in each st (7). Slst. Fasten off and weave in the ends. You might have to stretch it out with something like a pen tip to make sure they fit.

Yusuf 4, 5, 20, 25!
Heeeeeeeeee I'm so excited, my first TOG ask!
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
My first instincts are Star Wars and Tolkien, but that's because I have mush for brains. I would scratch out Tolkien because outside of what fans have created, it's not a universe that's particularly... kind? sympathetic? not cruel but not very benign, either, to characters of colour. But also I generally see all TOG character as deeply and intrinsically human so it woud completely eliminate any chance of elf!Joe or dwarf!Joe, which is sad. Which would leave being a Man, which, given the history of Middle-Earth (fucking Númenor) would suck for him :/.
For Star Wars I think that makes more sense, but then again you can make literally ANYONE fit in Star Wars (I think I'd see him as a Senator for some nice planet, probably like Naboo, Joe would suit Naboo and then Nicky would be his forbidden Jedi). That said, I could see him fitting in on a planet that so highly values the arts.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
There's a more comedy answer, and a more serious answer.
The comedy answer is Bello E Impossibile by Gianna Nannini (technically Nicky's pov, but it's definitely about Joe, and which despite being tongue-in-cheek nevertheless has some banger lines), and the more serious one is Don't You Dare (Make Me Fall In Love With You) by Kaden MacKay which for me is very early Yusuf-coded, just resenting the inevitability of falling in love with this... guy, and also definitely not believing it could ever be requited. I like the wordplay too, which is also very Yusuf.
(I feel a little bad that both of these do also involve Nicky in some manner, but for two characters who do see themselves as a package deal, I don't think that's the worst thing I could do? I don't think they'd mind it.)
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
There's like five of them there isn't much choice njcnadvjkdn.
I love Joe&Nile as buddies, I have a Joe&Nile buddies agenda, but... it's Nicky. It's always going to be Nicky, in the end. He might be everyone's best friend, but Nicky is his best friend and he's fine with that.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
That he seemed like he was very nice 🥺 Just a very nice person who gives good hugs and that I wanted one 🥲. (also hnnnn pretty man). I think I do have that assessment still, it's not incorrect, but obviously there's more depth to it. My impression now is of a man who feels deeply, powerfully, and expresses it openly.
And still hnnnn pretty.
Character ask game!

I think a lot of Sarah Janet’s plagiarism has a lot to do with 1) jealousy 2) she’s said that she has musical outlines that are full of the scores from movies like lotr, harry potter, and shows like got, etc so the music she hears she associates with those very specific scenes…essentially writing fanfic of her oc characters in those scenes instead
Hello anon
This is literally it. And the thing is nobody punishes her??
And honestly call me a conspiracy theorist but SJM being allowed to use "inspiration" like this is one of the biggest reasons YA and fantasy in general is plagued by the terrible format of [Kingdom of Salt and Pepper] is [acotar] meets [Gordan Ramsey] with [insert 4 tropes]
Post Twilight Boom and especially post the Dystopian Wave, this was a dying trend.
And to be fair to SJM with ToG she was just playing by the standard rules and pumping out not terrible books but idk if they put the old Coke's crack in the page lining or what but people seem so drawn to her writing?? Even after they acknowledge it's bad
So she grew this rabid fanbase dedicated to shielding her and the funny thing is she barely acknowledges their presence at all. Sjm's job is only writing but you'd think being an author of this level of celebrity and especially with fans who constantly lie and harass for you that there'd be some sort of para-social relationship fueling it but she don't like them fr 😭
It's ACOTAR where sjm's everything should have ended. Allowing such garbage to be considered the next peak after hunger games is where we as readers failed and unfortunately with how social media began to influence and shape the book world we'll never recover from that failure because there will never be another dull in the trends that leads to another big shift
Now we're stuck with scenes and tropes stapled together, protagonists who consist of hair and eye colours and 3 iconic lines, love interests who are villains but the Best ™ and definitely fuck even though they look stiff and definitely have jaw cramps from always clenching their muscles.

Bucky/Avengers x reader
Warnings - mentions of death, psychological damage
Tumblr media
They had done it, they had finally defeated Thanos and gotten everyone back.
After fighting for so long Bucky saw Nat and Sam and ran up to him hugging them tightly.
"Where's Steve and Y/N?" He asked as they looked at him sadly.
"A lot has changed Buck." Sam whispered, Bucky looked at them worriedly.
"T-They died didn't they?" Bucky replied with wide eyes.
"Steve, well it's complicated. But he's gone. A-And Y/N, is safe back at the compound." Nat said as Bucky looked at them in confusion.
"S-So, Steve's gone. But Y/N, she's okay?" Bucky asked as they nodded.
"Well, she's safe. But...different." Sam replied only make Bucky even more confused.
"Let's just get everyone home okay?"
-
It had been a long road to get everyone back to the compound. Everyone was exhausted. They had lost a lot, Clint, Tony and Steve, they were all gone. But they were glad they had won and gotten most of the universe back to normal after five years.
Nat and Sam made it to the Avengers compound, the rest of the team already there.
Bucky entered to see Bruce as his eyes widened.
"What the hell?" He muttered, Bruce did look a little...different.
"Welcome back Bucky!" He said as Bucky chuckled awkwardly then moved on.
"So, can I see Y/N?" He asked as Sam and Nat looked at each other.
"Y-Yeah, come with me." Nat said as Sam left them both, it was too hard for Sam to see you these days.
Bucky followed Nat up the stairs where they were met with a hallway full of doors.
"This place is pretty nice compared to the tower." Bucky commented as he looked around.
"Yeah, well Tony and I would usually work on it when we got bored grieving." Nat joked laughing a little, but there was pain behind her voice.
"Why didn't Y/N come down and see us? Isn't she excited I'm back?" Bucky asked, still confused. Nat looked at him but didn't say anything as she opened one of the doors.
Bucky saw you in the pinkish room in the middle with a colouring book.
"Y/N?" Bucky asked walking in to where you could see him, but you wouldn't look up. He knelt down to you.
"Y/N, doll. I'm back, aren't you happy to see me?" He asked looking at you, but you didn't respond.
"Nat...what happened?" Bucky whispered looking up to Nat as you continued to colour.
"Y/N, do you want to come down and have something to eat?" Nat asked as you stopped and looked behind you at her, it was like Bucky was invisible to you. You nodded a little and closed the book before standing up.
You shuffled over to Nat and kept your head down as you stood in front of her.
She smiled and took your hand gently leading you out of the room, Bucky followed behind you. He couldn't find any of the right words.
"Nat. What the hell is going on?" He said stopping in front of you both, you looked away from him and squeezed Nat's hand.
"I-I don't understand what's happening here. Y/N." He whispered reaching towards you but you backed away from him.
"Buck, Y/N isn't in there anymore." Nat whispered looking at him sadly.
"W-What do you mean?" He asked in disbelief.
"Let's go get some food, and I'll explain everything." Nat said as Bucky nodded and let you both walk back downstairs where most of the team was.
They were with Pepper trying to plan a funeral for the three they had lost.
"Nat, could you come help us?" Bruce asked as she nodded looking over to see Sam.
"Sam, can you take Y/N to get some food. And maybe fill Bucky in on some things he's missed?" Nat asked as Sam looked up, he nodded and came over to you. He hated to see you like this, but he still smiled.
"Come on, we'll get food." He said walking past the group into the kitchen away from the teams conversation.
You sat down at the kitchen table as Sam began to make a sandwich.
"Sam, please. Tell me what happened." Bucky said looking to you then Sam.
"Well, when the snap happened. We all kind of fell apart here, we all went our seperate ways. Y/N and Nat did their best to try and keep us all together, but we were all so lost. Tony had a family, Steve tried to forget about everything that had happened and Clint well he went rouge. We were all so busy with our own lives it took us a while to check in on Y/N. When we did we realised she was missing, we all thought she had moved away and moved on. We were all too selfish and wrapped up in our own lives to see that she might be in trouble." Sam said as he came over to you and handed you the sandwich he had made.
"By the time we had found her...it had already been over three years." Sam said looking down at you.
"W-What do you mean? Where was she? What happened?" Bucky asked in a panic.
"He found her Buck. Took her away, tortured her, abused her and...changed her. When we finally found her, the Y/N we knew was long gone." Sam whispered as Bucky's eyes widened.
When Sam said 'he' Bucky knew exactly who he meant, your father. Your powerful father that you had escaped. And now Sam was telling him that he had found you again.
"We managed to kill her father. We took her back here and Nat took care of her, then we defeated Thanos and got everyone back. Well, almost everyone." Sam said sighing sadly.
"I-I can't believe I wasn't here for her." Bucky whispered sitting beside you as you ate.
"It wasn't your fault Buck, we're the ones that should feel guilty. We're the reason he took her again. We're the reason she can't speak, the reason she can't remember, the reason she..." Sam trailed off as he covered his face.
"I'm sorry." He whispered before walking off leaving you with Bucky.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry." Bucky whispered looking at you, he could see there was no one behind your eyes. You were just a shell now.
"M-Maybe we can try some things. Try and get you back." Bucky said as Nat entered the room.
"We've tried. Even Tony tried but it didn't work, we all just came to terms with it I suppose. Even though we all still feel guilty for letting her go for so long. I just do my best to make sure she's safe now." Nat said as Bucky closed his eyes trying his best to not cry.
"I should've been here." He whispered as Nat sat across from you and him.
"Bucky, don't blame yourself. It's not your fault that you were effected by the snap. Everything has changed, we just need to get used to it unfortunately. There's a lot for you to process, you've lost five years of your life, you lost your best friend and now Y/N. Take it easy here, just rest. We're all taking care of the funeral." Nat said as Bucky nodded and looked up.
"You really took care of her this whole time?" Bucky asked as Nat smiled fondly at you.
"She's my best friend Bucky, I would never leave her. Somewhere inside of her she remembers you, sometimes when she sleeps I can hear her mutter your name. So, I know there's some memories still there. We've barely had anytime for doctors but Bruce and I are going to get onto the best doctors in the city. They'll be able to help us more, help us understand what's happening to her. I don't think we can ever get her back, but maybe we can help her feel more safe." Nat said as Bucky nodded. He smiled and gently took your hand as you looked up at him.
"I missed you doll." He whispered before you pulled your hand away and looked away from him making his smile fade.
"Y/N it's okay, Bucky's a friend." Nat said as you nodded a little but continued eating your sandwich.
"I-I think, I just need some time alone." Bucky whispered standing up, he looked at you before leaving you with Nat.
"It's going to take everyone time to adjust to all of this." Nat whispered as you finished off your sandwich.
"Nat!" Someone called out as Nat looked up to see Peter running into the kitchen. She smiled and stood up to hug him.
"It's good to see you kid." Nat said hugging him tightly as he chuckled.
"Pepper talked to me about Y/N. I'm sorry." He muttered pulling away to look down at you.
"Yeah, a lot changed in fives years. She'll be okay though, she's as safe as she can be here." Nat said as Peter smiled and sat beside you.
"Pepper told me you like to colour so I brought this that I found in New York." Peter said pulling out a Spider-Man colouring book.
"It's based on me." He said flipping through the pages as you put your hand on it and smiled a little.
"Isn't that cool?" He said as you nodded.
"Thank you for doing that Peter, she really appreciates it." Nat responded for you making Peter smile.
"I have to head back into the city to see Aunt May again, I'll see you all again in a few days at the funeral." Peter said standing up and hugging Nat one last time before saying goodbye to you both.
"Do you want to go for a walk outside?" Nat asked looking down at you as you nodded a little. She helped you stand up and held onto your hand as you made your way outside together.
-
Nat had gotten you to go back sleep in your room and most of the team had left. She found Sam down in the main room watching TV.
"When was the last time you slept?" She asked as he looked up and sighed.
"It's hard to sleep when there's so much going on in my mind. I can't even begin to start thinking about everything that's happened. Now with Bucky and everyone back, it just makes me feel even more guilty about Y/N. Some part of me wishes...wishes that she would've got effected by the snap. Or...that Thanos killed her at the beginning of all of this." He whispered, tears forming in her eyes.
"Sam." Nat whispered sitting down as he looked up.
"She's suffering Nat, she isn't the same. She will never be the same again, I can see how much she's hurting inside her own mind." Sam said covering his face as Nat sighed.
"I know Sam. No one knows more than me. We all know death would be mercy." Nat muttered looking down at her hands.
They heard a noise and looked up to see Bucky staring at them with wide eyes.
"Bucky..." Nat whispered as he glared at them and began to leave.
Nat grabbed him and stopped him.
"How could you say that! After everything we've been through with Y/N, how could you say that you would rather her dead?" Bucky grumbled as Nat looked into his eyes.
"Yes, because you haven't seen the worst of it Bucky. This is one of her good days, you haven't seen the endless sleepless nights of her screaming and trying to hurt herself. You haven't seen the days where she cries until she passes out, you haven't seen the times when she's been so traumatised that all she wants to do is die, you haven't watched her beg for mercy." Nat said trying to hold back her tears.
"I didn't want to tell you all of this because everything is all still new to you. But she is suffering Bucky." Nat said sternly as Bucky looked away from her.
"It sounds harsh but we all know that death would doing her a favour." Nat said as Bucky tried to hold back his tears.
They heard a noise and looked up to see you as their eyes widened.
"Y/N." Nat whispered as you looked at them in shock and quickly ran the other way out the door into the night.
"Y/N!" Bucky shouted as they all ran after you.
You kept running into the forest as Bucky quickly caught up with you and grabbed you.
"Y/N stop!" He shouted as you screamed and tried to break away from him.
"No!" You screamed as Nat quickly caught up.
"Y/N, sweetie it's okay. Please just calm down." Nat said as you began to cry and shook your head.
"Y-You want...you want m-me dead!" You shouted struggling to find the right words.
"No we don't, we were just trying to understand how we could give you peace." Sam said as you shook your head again. You screamed as your eyes glowed white and you sent everyone flying back before you started running again.
Nat fell to the ground as she groaned, she had lost sight of you.
"Shit, Y/N!" She shouted standing up, she didn't even know where to begin.
"Where would she run to?" Bucky asked standing up from the ground.
"This is all your fault! She was fine and then you came back and this happens!" Nat screamed at him as Sam quickly ran over to them.
"Guys now isn't the time, we need to find Y/N. She's in a lot of danger." Sam said as Nat groaned, she knew Sam was right. Now wasn't the time to blame each other.
"I'll go get my motorbike and search the roads, you two stay on the ground and search the forest." Nat said as the two men nodded and headed into the trees.
"I can't lose her again." Sam muttered as they began to walk.
"Why do you blame yourself?" Bucky asked making Sam scoff.
"Because I was her friend Bucky, and I failed her." He growled as Bucky looked at him sadly.
"We need to stop blaming ourselves, it won't bring her back." Bucky replied as Sam nodded and sighed.
"I know." Sam whispered as they headed further into the forest.
They heard a scream and quickly ran to where they had heard it.
They found themselves at the top of a small hill, they looked down to see you at the bottom.
"Y/N!" Bucky said quickly sliding down to the bottom with you.
"I'm sorry." You whispered beginning to cry as he looked at you sadly.
"It's okay doll, you didn't do anything." He said looking down t see you had cut your leg open.
"I-I ran away, I ran away." You whispered through your tears.
"Call Nat and tell her we found her, I'll get her out of here." Bucky said as Sam nodded and pulled out his phone.
"It's okay, I'm going to get you out of here. Is it okay if I pick you up?" Bucky asked as you looked at him and nodded a little.
He slowly picked up up as you cried in pain.
"It's alright, I've got you." He whispered trying to best to cling up the steep hill. He managed to get to the top and Sam helped you both to stand again. Bucky kept you in his arms as you cried and looked up at him.
"I'm sorry." You whispered in a broken voice as Bucky looked at you sadly.
"Come on, let's get you back to the house." Bucky said as you nodded and held onto Bucky.
You made it back to the Avengers base and Nat came rushing out to you.
"Y/N! Are you okay?" She asked as you looked up at her.
"She injured her leg on a branch." Sam said, Nat looked down at your leg to see blood as she quickly guided Bucky and you inside.
"I can stitch it back up, bring her to the infirmary." Nat said leading them upstairs to the small infirmary in the building. Bucky sat you down on a chair and Nat quickly brought out the medical supplies.
"Sweetie this is going to hurt a bit while I do this, but I need you to be strong for me okay?" Nat said as you sniffled and nodded, you held onto Bucky's hand as Nat began to work on the wound. You covered your face and cried softly as Bucky held onto your hand.
"It's okay Y/N, you're doing so well for us." He whispered, you rested your head on his chest as you cried softly.
Bucky just closed his eyes and kept you close to him, he hadn't been this close to you since he'd come back.
After a few minutes Nat had stitched up the wound and bandaged it.
"We're all done sweetie." Nat said as you nodded and looked at her.
"I-I ran away." You whispered as she looked at you sadly. She knew that you used to try and run from your father, and what he would do to you when he caught you.
"Y/N it's okay, you're not in trouble. You were just afraid." Nat said, you nodded and wiped away your tears.
"Come on, let's get you back to bed." Sam said helping you stand up as you stopped.
"W-Will you...kill me?" You whispered as the three heroes looked at you sadly.
"No sweetie, we were just trying to understand how we could give you peace. We shouldn't even have mentioned it." Nat said holding onto your hands as you nodded.
"B-Bed." You muttered letting Nat lead you out of the infirmary.
"You guys go back downstairs, I'll take her to bed." Nat said as the two men nodded and headed away from you.
Nat took you to your room and helped you to get into bed.
"Get some rest. Wake me up if you need anything okay?" Nat said smiling at you as you nodded and closed your eyes.
"Goodnight Y/N."
-
Bucky had woken up in the middle of the night to get some water, he decided to head into your room to check on you. He found you not in bed as he began to worry, he ran down stairs and saw the tv playing with you staring at it rocking back and forth.
"Y/N?" He whispered as he looked to the tv to see it was an old recording of the whole team and you on Christmas morning together.
He could hear your small whimpers as you stared at it. He watched your happy smile on the video as you laughed and hugged Bucky.
He sat down beside you and watched the tv play the happy memory.
"Tony that's enough eggnog!" You shouted snatching a glass of eggnog from Tony's hand in the video.
You reached up and touched Tony's face on the tv as you cried a little.
The picture changed to your face as you looked up at it and cried.
"Y/N." Bucky whispered as he watched you stare at the happy image of yourself.
"G-Gone." You whispered ever so quietly before the video ended.
You just stayed staring at the blank screen as your eyes searched for something.
"Doll, I know it's hard to look back at those times. To see our family and to see...us. But we can still be happy, just because things change doesn't mean it's bad." Bucky whispered as you sat back down and closed your eyes.
"M-More." You whispered reaching for the pile of VHS tapes, your shaking hands making them fall.
"Here, it's okay. I can do it." Bucky said as he pulled one out of the pile that said 'Steve's birthday.'
He put it in and pressed play before helping you stand up and sitting up on the couch. He sat beside you and held onto your hand as the video played.
Bucky could tell it was you that was filming, he could here your laughs and see you running along the halls of the tower.
"I remember this." Bucky whispered smiling fondly.
On the video you ran into Steve's room to wake him up but he wasn't there. Suddenly he jumped out of the closet with Bucky and scared you as you screamed and laughed.
The video played out as you both watched it.
They heard a noise and looked up to see Nat behind them smiling, Sam came down the stairs and watched the video.
"Come sit down guys." Bucky said as the two smiled and sat either side of you. You all sat together and watched the video of Steve's birthday. Everyone laughing and smiling.
"F-Family." You whispered as tears streamed down your face.
"We're still a family Y/N, we always will be." Nat said as she smiled at you, she was holding back her own tears.
The past can hurt so much, everything can change so quickly. Everything you knew gone in a heartbeat. The family you once loved and spent every second with was now gone.
Even the person you once were was long gone, the others knew she was never coming back. But they were okay with that, they would learn to love you how you were now. There would be hard moments, like anything. But they would all get through it.
Yes their family was smaller, but it was still their family.

What’s your favorite obscure acotar theory? One that’s lesser known or not as hyped as others that you really enjoy or really hope will play out in the next book?
Firstly anon, I'm sorry this took me well over a week!
Spoilers: ACOTAR, CC and TOG series to date, mostly discussing witches.
This is a personal crack theory that I've had for more than a year now, which I haven't - as far as I can remember - mentioned publicly before, because it goes off more "the vibe of the thing, your honour" than solid evidence that I've seen in the text (at this point I've lost the motivation to research for new, giant metas, so this is apparently how you'll get it).
What if lightsingers were "rebranded" as witches in Prythian's world?
Here me out.
Koschei the sorcerer has shadow (dark light?) powers.
What if ACOTAR witches had light powers?
I've theorised before that Koschei may be Prythian's oldest shadowsinger, but it's interesting to note that he is also an accomplished sorcerer. This made me wonder, how do sorcerers differ from witches, if at all? I've had similar thoughts about shadowsingers and lightsingers, and I do still mean to write about that topic, but to sum up, I suspect that lightsingers and shadowsingers are two sides of the one coin, based on one of two things:
They are the same species, and the colour of their magic is dependent on mood or emotions (more likely), as I outlined in this post about Azriel's shadows and their response to Elain Archeron and his happiness/comfort in general.
There is possibly a male/female divide. This is less likely, but SJM established the following in HOSAB: "Two intersecting triangles. Male and female, dark and light, above and below … and the power that lies in the place where they meet." To many of us, this has a clear parallel with the Truth-Teller scene between Elain and Az in ACOWAR - "Elain looked up at Azriel, their eyes meeting, his hand still lingering on the hilt of the blade. I saw the painting in my mind: the lovely fawn, blooming spring vibrant behind her. Standing before Death, shadows and terrors lurking over his shoulder. Light and dark, the space between their bodies a blend of the two. The only bridge of connection … that knife." - but I digress.
* @wingedblooms has already written a fantastic post about why she believes Elain could be a lightsinger, and another hypothesising that Elain could be a witch (though we're both thinking and hoping that all three Archeron sisters are witches - and who knows, they were born in and slept on an ironwood bed in their cottage...); keep an eye out for wingedblooms' upcoming witch post! @silverlinedeyes has written similarly, wondering if Elain could be another sort of Singer, perhaps one that we haven't seen before. I highly recommend reading all of those posts.
There are - imo - similarities in the text between lightsingers, whose powers are not yet established beyond an apparent ability to lure people to them in some way, and ACOTAR witches, who are said to amass power beyond their natural reserves. We shouldn't, however, forget the witches from Midgard (CC) or Erilea (TOG, of which there was more than one sort: Ironteeth and Crochan).
The Ironteeth witches could be very beautiful, however, similarly to rumours of lightsingers in Prythian, they had keen predatory instincts, could change their teeth and nails to iron fangs and talons, and it wasn't uncommon for them to hunt for sport, as Cassian said of lightsingers in ACOSF. Other parallels exist, but as I said this is not just a crack theory, but a lazy theory as well, so I cbf going into it all. Sorry, but to quote @merymoonbeam, I'm in an it's in the text mood. 😅
Basically, it boils down to this: Koschei has shadow powers and can cast spells. Rhys has shadow-type powers and can also cast spells. Can Azriel, likewise, perform magic of his own? Do his shadows give him this power, or is it something more innate... does he have a hidden light? He can heal, of a sort, which we haven't seen from Cassian. Can lightsingers perform magical feats of their own? And if they are what are currently known as witches in some form, are they the sort that Mor spoke of, or Cassian? Or are they more similar to TOG or CC witches?
Witches in Prythian - the "human kind" that I assume Mor was talking about in ACOWAR (though this is unconfirmed) when Nesta asked the difference between a faerie and a witch - as I mentioned earlier, "...amass power beyond their natural reserve,” Mor answered with sudden seriousness. “They use spells and archaic tools to harness more power to them than the Cauldron allotted—and use it for whatever they desire, good or ill.”
As in TOG, Cassian seemed to hint, in ACOSF, that there was more than one type of witch, and he went straight into discussing lightsingers right afterwards: “What else dwells here other than kelpies?” “Some say witches,” he murmured. “Not the human kind,” he added when she raised a brow. “The kind that used to be something else and then their thirst for magic and power turned them into wretched creatures, banished here by various High Lords.” “They don’t sound so bad.” “They drink young blood to fill the coldness the magic left in them.” Nesta winced. Cassian went on as she scanned the bog, “There are lightsingers: lovely, ethereal beings who will lure you, appearing as friendly faces when you are lost. Only when you’re in their arms will you see their true faces, and they aren’t fair at all. The horror of it is the last thing you see before they drown you in the bog. But they kill for sport, not food.”
Witches, apparently, were also wretched creatures, banished to the Middle. This sounds eerily in line with what I suggested in this post, where I posited that lightsingers might not truly be evil after all, but they had possibly copped a bad rap after (and this is also a crack theory) siding with Theia against Fionn, and so, after the fallout, became an entire species of scapegoats to the misled public for that "betrayal." After such an historic event, it would make sense for the surviving lightsingers to rebrand themselves as witches, especially if they could pass for one sort, in order to escape the retribution that almost certainly would have followed. Has this disguise stuck over the millennia? Or, as I have often wondered, do they occasionally get caught out and then targeted, perhaps leading to a need for sanctuary in a library full of their own kin, run by someone who has her own unique brand of magic?
Again, I know that none of this is really well thought out, and I apologise for that, but I hope you get the gist of it, at least.

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Thanks....
Hi and of course! This is a really difficult question to answer tho. There's so many characters I love. I won't bother ranking them because I doubt I could and technically I mentioned more than 10, I hope you forgive me...
Kyan Reki (SK8 the Infinity): He's super relatable to me and I'd love to be his friend. I think he could teach me how to have more fun and to skateboard without judging too hard when I make mistakes and in return I could be his unpaid therapist because the Lord knows he needs one. I adore ENFPs and he seems awesome to hang out with. I don't think I'd encourage his interest in S beefs because I'd be too worried about him or the others getting badly hurt. I wouldn't allow him to be around Adam either. I'd slap this bitch so hard istg
Aaron Minyard (AFTG): I think he's a very underrated character of the aftg trilogy. I of course love all of them and he isn't the most relatable character to me either (that would be Betsy, fortunately I can't necessarily relate to the Foxes) but I believe he's greatly misunderstood within the books. I don't approve of all his actions but he feels very real to me. Someone who is capable of development and change, even if at moments he's not exactly acting that great. He has so much potential and room for improvement
Wylan Hendriks (Six of Crows): He's my child, my son, whom I love dearly. I want to make him hot chocolate and sing him a lullaby. I basically slammed down the adoption papers as soon as he was introduced in the book. I didn't even know him, he could've turned out to be different than expected but I'm rarely wrong about characters (*pats myself on the back*) and I just fell in love with him immediately. I am incredibly proud of his development. Next to Matthias I believe he had the best one of the Crows. But obviously all of the characters are fucking amazing, it's so hard to choose favourites. But I have to mention Specht and Rotty being the MVPs of the duology. Without them nothing would've worked lol. I am beyond excited to see all of them on screen :)))
Khun Aguero Agnes (Tower of God): Ah yes, another smart, traumatised, morally grey, queer coded guy with a funky hair colour. What do you expect of me? In the same breath I could mention Killua (Hunter X Hunter). They're kinda similar, aren't they? They're very underappreciated in their respective verses, despite being fan favourites, and deserve a genuine Thank You from their protagonist bestie. But my favourite in ToG is actually Hockney (the painter aesthetic. There's just something about him that is extremely compelling to me, I think we'd get along)
Darcy (Heartstopper): Such a relatable character. So real and everything you'd wish to have as TV representation. Though I'm not a lesbian (I'm pan/demic) I really love her, and also Elle, so much. Heartstopper is just great in general, I doubt I have to explain exactly why and what I find so good about it
Vanessa (Black Clover): She's a witch with a big pointy hat who can change fate with a cute little cat. She's confident and despite her drinking habits still very responsible. Charmy is amazing too, can you imagine how much of your favourite food she could make you and you bet your fucking ass it'd be the most delicious thing you've ever eaten in your entire life. Luck is a cutie as well, despite being completely unhinged but why would that be important?
Morgiana (Magi): I mean, have you seen her? She's an absolute queen. Do I want her, be her friend or do I want to be her? The answer is yes. I know I didn't include a lot of female characters here. I blame that on the fact that they are often under developed, annoying or I relate to the male characters more for some weird reason. A character that reminds me of her is Emma (The Promised Neverland). They're strong female role models and act as big sisters sometimes. They're smart, athletic and powerful. You just gotta love them
John Murphy (The 100): There is something about this cockroach I am obsessed with. I hate cockroaches but a character who straight up refuses to die and is so cool about it? I'm gagging for it. The show itself, like many others, went downhills but I still enjoyed most of it. And Murphy was only amazing throughout all of it
Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen): A villain can't be missing from this list. The only thing I can say about him is that he's hot (I am, however, not attracted to Yuuji, I feel like that's important to say) and once in a while a villain doesn't have to be incredibly complex. He can just want to watch the world burn and kill everyone and that's okay. We don't always need reasons. Sure, I'd be terrified of him if I met him and he wouldn't even have to really move a finger to kill me but what an honour it'd be to get murdered by this man
Nanachi (Made in Abyss): Might be a weird one but this story got me really attached, it's quite tragic and Nanachi is such a sweet, yet sad character. She is a great help to the other two protagonists and what drives her is so dramatic, her story actually made me cry. All these kids are way too young to experience such terrible hardships. I'm so looking forward to more of them!
Everyone from Attack on Titan deserves an honourary place on this list. All the girls are awesome. Ymir, Historia, Annie, Sasha, Mikasa, and yes, you might hate me for it but even Gabi. I'm on nobody's side in this war so why would I hate a child for having been raised on propaganda? She killed one person, others killed many more. And the boys, oof, Connie has always been my favourite boy. He seems like fun but also really nice and respectful. Boyfriend material. Besides almost being willing to sacrifice a kid... But only almost, right? Of course there's Levi and Erwin but I think those are too obvious to even mention here.
(Fantasy) Animal companions: Idk if they count but Happy (Fairy Tail), Kirara (Inuyasha), Chopper (One Piece), Kuro (Blue Exorcist), Pina (Sword Art Online), Akamaru and Kurama (Naruto), fuckinuhhh Ryuk (Death Note)??, Appa and Momo (Avatar), Hayate (fmab), Yoyo and Doc Crock (Simsala Grimm), all monsters from How to Keep a Mummy, even fucking Pikachu. You name them. Always top tier characters.
Asking for only 10 was a horrible thing to do to me, do you know what this cost me? I need to do more honourable mentions so if you'll excuse me: Alluka, Meruem and Komugi (Hunter X Hunter), Yatora Yaguchi (Blue Period), Chika (World Trigger), Maki (Jujutsu Kaisen), Manbagi Rumiko (Komi can't communicate), Dabi and Hatsume Mei (bnha), Saiki (Saiki K), Crowley and Mika (Owari no Seraph), Scar and Roy Mustang (fmab), Alana Bloom (Hannibal)
Why would you even ask me this question? I'm only stopping here because I can't think of any more content and characters lmao

I'm honestly glad ToG has such ugly covers, tbh it's what the books deserve. Puke-coloured backgrounds and awful bevels.
oh you and me both, anon. that's what makes the CCity covers hilarious: it's clear the artist doesn't give a shit about the books themselves 😂 how can we forget Hunt's fucking eyes pointing in two different directions

“The high priestess walked onto the stone platform and raised her hands above her head. The folds of her midnight blue gossamer robe fell around her, and her white hair was long and unbound. An eight pointed star was tattooed on her brow in a shade of blue that matched her gown. Its sharp lines extending to her hairline.
“Welcome all and may the blessings of the goddess and all her gods be upon you”
- chapter 38 of Throne of Glass
(if anyone has the page number be a legend and lmk im listening to the audiobook for this) ((yes i paused after every sentence to get this right if its not the exact quote please dont yell at me im trying my best here)
BIG ASS SLEEPY RAMBLE UNDER THE CUT WITH SPOILERS FOR ALL SJM BOOKS
Uhhhhh 8 pointed star, blue priestess robes AND a goddess figure that has been described earlier as coming to this world through the wyrd to shape it. (Also possibly had been referred to as the mother but again sleepy and audiobook)
So this is the yulemas ceremony in the first tog book, iconic scene, buuut ive never seen anyone bring up this exact description before. Now i know its easy to just make connections out of nothing and who knows sjm might just really like 8 pointed stars and the colour blue but i kinda really hope that now tog and cc are confirmed to be connected (the og shifter world AND lidias heritage) that there will be more development.
Caaaaauuuuuuuse i want to know if the valg were asteri or if they were like diet asteri, i want to know how the mother connects these three worlds cause it absolutely is the mother that is mentioned as the goddess cause who the fuck else is it??? Most of the other gods and goddesses are mentioned by name and are actually from a different world (i also want to know more about that, what world did they come from are THEY the asteri????) i want to know more about the 8 pointed stars and how it fits into the tog world, we know the sisters both made the stars in cc and acotar worlds respectively but HOW DID IT GET TO THE TOG WORLD??? I want to know more about world walking, it was mentioned in lidias exposition dump about her lineage so that makes me think that aelin mastered it somehow and taught her descendants and lidia is a descendant but that also raises questions cause if i remember correctly (and im tired so im probably not please feel free to correct me) aelin closed all the connections to other worlds but then bryce was able to open a portal to prythian. BUT theres also the thought that lidia is from a different branch of aelins family tree that split off at an earlier point in time, but they also wouldve had to master world walking for it to be passed down in knowledge to lidia. (I personally think lidia is aelins descendant cause she gave the ring to the twins that is the ring aelin picked out i think….lot of potential misremembering here but i think the ring aelin picked was an emerald and i think thats the ring she gave the twins) I also want more information about the barrowhite becoming the underking, like how the fuck did they end up in CC and how the fuck did they end up in such a power position and just what??? ALSO the witches??? How are they so different in TOG and CC??? Unless theyre from different worlds but like where did the cc witches come from? Did they come from the ACOTAR world?? But still the description of the witches in acotar is so different to the cc witches and i just need more information. SJM please help i need more information i am begging im going insane i need MORE LORE!!!!
idk its all very confusing i really need to start taking notes when i read these books cause either im a dumbass and can’t remember or understand what happened or sjm has rewrote history and logic and honestly both could be true simultaneously. There’s probably more but like i said i sleepy and i have so much uni work to do and im on the first book, thank you for reading this if you got to the end, think i might crack out the conspiracy board over summer as a way to cope with finishing uni forever and becoming a real adult. ALSO if you read this please gimme your thoughts and questions to add to the conspiracy board that i absolutely will make but may just end up being in a sketchbook cause i have hundreds of them and boards are expensive
Oh also i think the single goddess figure with other gods below her is only mentioned in this book, i could be wrong (again i can only apologise i am ✨tired✨) but it had also been mentioned a few times in the og tog book

As a designer/creative, you could also explore creative, visual and non-logical methods to create new typologies, if consistent with your strategy. E.g., do you notice half the elements are pink in colour or hand-crafted? Is this interesting, helpful, or offer opportunities or limitations worth considering?
A lot of objects have personal meaning that others would not see from the outside. Object that I use like beauty products of clothing items because those make me feel certain ways.
What do your current categories tell you about the elements contained in them?
Everything has meanings, a lot of my object are directly what I use to help create my work. They are things that affect me and the way I feel which aids to how I feel when creating and how to get myself into a space that allows me to create without feelings stressed. It reminds me of how I want to hold myself and the values I want presented in my work.
What underpins your categorisations? Are the elements grouped by a key characteristic, material or medium – or something else? e.g. typography, fluid type, poster design, etc?
Categorised by what the items are or how they make me feel / the thoughts they provoke.
Are some of your categories defined by author/maker, origin, use or idea? Or something else?
Some of my categories are defined by if I see it as art, objects that I own, or things that I wear, or products that I use.
What do you these categories tell you about your selection methods, influences and biases?
These tell me that I do see the categories for what they are as surface level. For example, I would not categorise the print and the candle together as in my mind those do not belong together.
What might these categories tell you about you as an individual, and your design practice?
These tell me that I am a person that thinks and feels very deeply. Almost all of my object has deeper meanings because of the memories or values that hold, or the way they make me feel.
When seen together, what story do these elements and their categorisation tell an audience?
The audience may be confused seeing all these objects as it may seem random, I find it hard to connect some of them. But if they read the description, they will find that all the objects have significance and influence myself and my work in some way. The categories are based on how I feel when using or around these things.
Does your re-examination of typologies and approaches to classification suggest changes? Do all the elements fit in one category? Should they? Is this coherent or is  it limiting?
No, things like my togs and the candle cannot be connected. But a lot of them can be linked to ways of healing me or making me feel relaxed.
Does a category need be added? Or removed?
Maybe have other categories that and link elements from other ones to show the cross sections.
Would a category operate more effectively with more, less or different elements?
My categories are already quite small, I have ways to cross categorise them,
Should some elements be reclassified?
If I reduced categories, then they can change categories and be reclassified.
Are some elements a better fit for the category than the one you’ve selected? Or does the categorisation need adapting to foreground the unique importance of the element?
My categories could use some refining and adapting
Are there blind spots in your selection, editing or approach?
Georgia found that a lot of my objects can be seen as healing or provoking a feeling
Is the graphic system coherent? Overall, would it make sense to someone with no knowledge of you, your design work and chosen elements?
Now I am not using a specific system as I am still collating all my items. Right know I have a photo collage of the items, it is very messy, the colours are not cohesive.
Is it effective?
No, this is just a way for me to see my work, this is not how I intend to present my work
Is it efficient?
No, again this is just thrown on a page so I can see it visually.
Is it clear, concise and compelling?
As above
Is it the most appropriate design solution for your selected elements, and categories or classifications systems? What other graphic systems could you research and experiment with?
No, I want to draw my object to give them all the same treatment. Just as photos they do not look cohesive or thought out. I will either draw all the objects by hand or I will apply an image treatment to them
Does it speak to your preferences and strengths as a designer?
I am trying to push myself out of my comfort zone as a designer which is why I want to draw the materials. I was strong at sketching in high school but have drifted away from that in recent years
Does it take a unique approach to the assignment reflective of you as an individual?
Yes, drawing in my style would be unique and help to show all the objects rather than individuals that aren’t related. I want to have a clean and structured typeface to contrast the sketches. I also have the tendency to be a perfectionist so by having imperfect drawings this will be fun to work with and try place into a grid system and give it some sort of structure.
How does it create appropriate connections with relevant creative communities?
It creates connections with my sporting community, design community

He had come for her. She held his gaze as she grabbed her own dagger and cut her palm, right over the scar she’d given herself at Nehemia’s grave. And though she knew he could read the words on her face, she said, “To whatever end?”
He nodded, and she joined hands with him, blood to blood and soul to soul, his other and coming around to grip her tightly. Their hands clasped between them, he whispered into her ear,
“I claim you, too, Aelin Galathynius.”
