Refusing to Forget "The Reasons Why I Shipped Toi Kuji x Kazuki Yasaka" Part 1

Source: from my Twitter thread. I am rewriting again to celebrate Toikazu's Day on October 1st.

1. Both of them have brother complexes in their family even though in different ways. Then their problems lead them to impact their own morality and lifestyle. Even they want to use Dish of Hope for their each own brother. Here

2. Both Kazuki and Toi have their own beautiful mom who looks the same as them, especially in their hair and eye color respectively. Here

3. Their eyes zoom which reflects some leak scenes (My favorite part of them of course is their eyes and the zoom of the eyes). Here

4. Their merchs sometimes being juxtaposed (just like ReoMabu did). Here

5. Usually the 1st and 2nd protags' official colors are Blue and Red. Kazuki (Red), Toi (Blue) Same cases with other animes' protags. Banana Fish: Ash (Red), Eiji (Blue); Yuri!!! on Ice: (Blue), Victor (Red/Purple), turquoise (actual) here

Explain: In the official merch, Victor's official color actually is turquoise, but since he has his Stammi Vicino's costumes are pink and purple, his color can be depicted as pink (or we can mention it red) and purple.

6. Speak of the devil, both of their official colors match with both their hair and eye color. Meanwhile, even though Enta's color is yellow and matches his hair color, not with his eyes which are green. Here

7. Same pattern: One has a slightly hanging bangs style that parted a little bit of his left eye; the other has an asymmetrical parting on his hair, and some can cover one eye. All of them parted on the left eye, except Victor. Here

8. Of course many moments about them from all episodes (except ep 3). Update: even I like Ep. 7 since Kazuki is now smiling and calling Kuji 'Toi' which means he has become close to him. But the result is Enta's jealousness. Here

9. they have different belt buckle types which can be depicted as their personality. Toi: frame-style buckle Kazuki: box-out buckle When they open/close their buckles, Toi's is more complicated than Kazuki's, just like their rep lives. Here

11. In their childhood, both of them had pure cutesy round eyes and small gaps when they stared at something even though in different vibes. Seems parallel but opposite, isn't it? Here

12. Both of them have the initiative to first clean their soccer field together twice (1st: Toi, 2nd: Kazuki) before they know that the actual culprit of ruining their spot is Enta who is the one who is always on that spot. Here

13. Coincidentally both of them have upside-down lives that begin from 5 years old happiness to 10 years old sadness. Here

14. They have slender and delicate necks, jawlines, napes, and collarbones which are always being exposed in every episode. Also, Toi's Adam Apple looks sexy. Kazuki still doesn't have it yet, huh? No wonder! Here

15. YEAY!!! Finally, the relationship between Kazuki's Miçanga and Toi has been the truth. Even they have their (side)forgotten 1st meeting. Do you remind them of some other couple in another anime?

16. In fact, during the anime their left eyes have always been the focus of their scenes. I know why the left eye is special for being zoomed. Even Enta doesn't get that treatment yet because his eyes are being focused on both. Here

Btw, bonus from Sara herself *even though not related to Toikazu hehe...*

17. Kazuki Leak's OST and Toi Leak's have different basic chords but both of them are full instruments. If you listen their songs repeatedly (minus Enta's) you'll find that they have some synchronized beats and vibes even though different chords and instruments. Even their songs end with a fade-out chorus which gets quieter and quieter, unlike Enta Leak's song chorus which ends with some growing surprising strings (maybe). Here

18. Kazuki and Toi have the letter 'K' in front of their names (Kazuki and Kuji) and the letter 'i' as the last letter in their nicknames [Kazuk(i) and To(i)]. Are they only coincidences or there are the intended meanings behind these, guys? Here

19. The zodiacs Kazuki: Taurus Toi: Scorpio Believe or not, there are some fun important facts about their zodiacs and the compabilities between them. Here

I don't really write angst so I don't have an answer for this one lol

Hmmm... happiest ending... I think I would say The Tiniest Tiger (Fairy Tail- Sting x Rogue). I love this story and this little family. I reallt should write more for it!

Luckily no!

I write the horny all the time! Anything from sweet and vanilla to safe words and toys lol

I have some written but not published. I do have some AUs published. I love AUs, especially fantasy!

Not that I know of.

No but I would be open to it as long as credit was given.

Not since I was a teenager writing with my BFF about the Backstreet Boys. (Side note- she included that information in her speech as my maid of honor lmao)

Sting x Rogue (Fairy Tail). I will go down with this ship, it is my love.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I have so many WIPs it ain't even funny, I couldn't chose just one

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think dialogue, I love writing conversations.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Fight scenes and angst.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I do this sometimes. I have an OC in a WIP that uses Yiddish a lot. Growing up with my mother's Jewish family it was spoken a lot around me. I think including other languages and things about other cultures is a great way to expose people to different things.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Does Backstreet Boys count? If not, Fairy Tail.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Ohhhh that's a tough one... I love Jump Around . It was a fun story to write and I smile every time I reread it.

love me some under-the-surface bad boy x openly worse boy romance (kazutoi) but eremin was the blueprint for me i fear....im sick in the head about these childhood friend romances. if i had to choose from their polycule toi's getting tossed but i swear i love him too lol. the brother complex is insane and honestly he's more of a stand-alone character relative to the other two, even with the connection to kazuki through his miçanga

TW!: The mention of r*pe and suicidal attempt

21. The dynamic of Bad Boy x Good Boy. You know, sometimes bad boy x good boy ships have a place in their own shippers' hearts. Ex: Ash x Eiji from Banana Fish, Kanba x Shouma from Penguindrum, etc (let you mention it by yourself because I don't know all of them). So does Toikazu in that trope. Besides, the good boy x bad boy ship dynamic never gonna make it boring since they are like two different magnetic poles but if we put them together they will attract each other. It makes sense, huh?! Here

22. According to PASH! Mags, I find some similarities between Toikazu and Reomabu: a. Toikazu's height difference is the same as Reomabu's = 5 cm b. Even each of the couple's blood types has type A and type B (no wonder why Toi same as Mabu n Kazu same as Reo) Here

23. Toikazu and Reomabu remind me of my ships when I was a KPOP stan, especially SMTOWN. *ToiKazu look like KriSho (Kris x Suho EXO) (fierce boy x sweet boy vibes. Unfortunately they were drowned since Kris quit from boy group EXO, and now was involved in the underage r*pe cases in China) while ReoMabu like ChangKyu (Changmin TVXQ x Kyuhyun Suju) (coincidentally they have the same height and blood type respectively) Here

Not related to Toikazu but: Changmin from TVXQ has the same blood type and height with Reo, and he has dark skin as Reo (even though not so dark), while Kyuhyun from Super Junior is also the same as Mabu even he has white pale skin like Mabu. They are the evil maknaes in their group respectively.

24. In episode 11, Toi parallels with Kazuki about narrative even though in different last sentences (ep 1 & 11), even they fall to ア sign are still parallel. And red and blue cars in the background. Here

25. And last but not least, apparently they had wanted to commit 'suicide' (disappear from the circle) for their own ways and reasons, but fortunately, their actions were thwarted thanks to misanga in their last arcs. Here

You weren’t sure how long you sat in the car in the parking lot squeezing your wheel but the sudden rush of the cold and the sound of teeth chattering had you snapping out of it.

“Kazuki. Iruki. Do you have all your stuff?”

“Yes Mama!“

“Why are we here?”

Iruki, always painfully curious. The last thing Iruki was going to let this go, she wanted an explanation. She had picked up on your anxiety the moment you picked them up from kindergarten. She knew Kazuki was just trying to keep the mood up but why?

You ignored her, herding them out the car and tutting them when you did happen to find their prized toys strewn about the backseat. You wanted to turn back around, pick the twins up and hightail it out of there; but you had to do this for your babies. That's what you told yourself as you rang that pristine doorbell of the familiar mansion and when the door opened to see the green haired muscular hero you tried to say the same thing.

“(Y/n)? What's wrong? We don’t get to have them for another two weeks?”

The worried falsetto you used to pour your heart out to in the dead of night almost made you do it again but instead you let the twins barrage his knees with hugs and grabby hands as they greeted him.

“Hi DADDY!” “Hello Dada.”

“Hiii heroes! Have you been good to Mommy? How was your day?”

You only followed with their abandoned luggage when Izuku invited you in with the hand that was still free. The twins began their mission of scaling your ex-husband as they had done many times before, answering their father’s inquiries as they scaled him like a building. You couldn’t help but smile assuring yourself that whatever would happen to you they’d be just fine. You fought back those annoying tears as you started taking out their necessities from the diaper bag. You knew Katsuki would want these scrubbed down right away saying something along the lines of, “I'M NOT HAVING THE GERMS OF ANYOTHER GRUBBY TODDLERS BUT MY OWN!!!”

“Pops!”

“Poprock!”

Speak of the devil. You cringed at your daughter’s sardonic use of her American terminology. You and Izuku both agreed that when she voiced her father’s connection to the candy you both wouldn’t point out that it wasn’t a candy she was calling him but a way to say his title and his descriptor: “Pop Rocks.”

“What are you troublemakers doing here? You didn’t trick Mom with that bull sh-butt routine, right?”

You appreciated the effort to keep things clean. You remember arguing about him censoring himself when the kids came; his rebuttal at the time was, “ the world’s gonna be that way anyway, better for them to handle it sooner!” You remembered it was a common argument throughout your pregnancy.

Your children shifted their focus from climbing their one Dad to climbing the other, giving Izuku the chance to talk under the pretense of helping you wash their dishes. When you felt his figure slide next to yours with a sippy cup in hand you couldn’t deny the heat that ran up your body in embarrassment. As if it wasn’t bad enough he casually brushed your hands against his as he washed the cup. He’s gotten a lot smoother, that's for sure.

“Does this have something to do with your boss?”

So perceptive he knew when you made out of character decisions it often fell to that one person. You had, many times, called either Izuku or Katsuki in a frantic voice to call you at a specific time and fake an emergency or just to come over and check that everything was okay. Even though this time was much worse you were sure you could get off with a partial truth.

Izuku was annoyed. He hated that you were even living so far away but it was the fact that they so often had to be your backup. Not that he didn’t enjoy your dependence on them but the fact you relied on them like a girl does on a bad first date was disturbing. After investigating your boss he found out why you did what you did.

He apparently was the head of an influential name with a fortune bigger than entire countries. This business was nothing but a playground where he poked and prodded at whoever he liked. To make matters worse he had a record of chasing around an employee whether they're receptive or not they’ll go missing, turn up dead, or are often traumatized for life. All within a month. He had been chasing you for six. Izuku during his many stakeouts had gathered enough evidence to incriminate him but the lengths his snakes in the Police Force and in the Hero Association. He realized if the enemy was going to play dirty he had to as well.

He had to thank Katsuki’s observation for your sudden change from ‘I never want to speak to you two again!’ to ‘could you call me at 21:34 on the dot and say that you're stopping by from your patrol.’ His husband had pointed out that you seemed to show off your connection to them as heroes and people who you talk to often. As much as he hoped it was because you secretly wanted to get back together Katsuki pointed out how you were probably using them as an insurance. They both recalled how you had done that often, even in high school, you often planned. Paranoia was a pain but came in handy when you needed it.

“You know if it’s a problem we can help…” He was stepping on eggshells, you were adamant about how independent you were.

“I don’t want your help.” You spoke through gritted teeth, this was the root of your separation. You found out how they did things and it got messy.

“(Y/n) seriously. You can’t quit. We can’t always make it in time. He is closing in and he’s going to do something horrible-”

He realized how much louder he was speaking and how you were trying not to cry out loud. He squeezes on your hands while he turns you; your back facing the opening of the kitchen where Katsuki has both twins hanging on his arms.

“What's wrong with Mama?!”

“Did you hurt my Mami?”

Izuku sweat-dropped at Iruki’s accusation, before looking down at your pleading (e/c) eyes and tear stricken face.

“It's ok,” He smiled his hero smile, ”Mommy was just a little nervous about sharing.”

He hugs you, slotting his mouth past your hair (if you have any) straight into your ear. “Share your problems with us baby, we’re a team, remember?” You were standing still even as he embraced you. You weren’t on board. which was a problem. He and Katsuki wouldn’t be able to execute their plan “For our kids. (Y/n). They need you (Y/n). We need you, baby.” Finally you collapse into him and return his hug. He looks up to Katsuki who gives him a knowing nod and hauls away the twins.

When the twins were sleeping you told your ex-husbands all about the proposal that was made by your boss.

“So the %#@$##@$* is trying to get you to sleep with him?”

“Kacchan!”

“Sorry. The poop-head wanted you at his place three hours ago?”

“...I was supposed to quickly drop them off but you know..”

“We’re gonna handle this babe, don’t worry about it.”

You tightly gripped your mug of (chocolate milk/tea/there is no in between). “You mean you’re going to….kill him?”

“Yeah.”

“Kacchan!”

“What?! You want me to keep beating around the bush? We all know what we have to do.”

“Yeah but you didn’t have to-”

“Are you guys sure this is our only option?”

“Yeah. Don’t worry about it babe, we’ll do this, you move in, and then we can focus on what really matters. Like why were both Iruki and Kazuki suspended from Kindergarten?”

“What?! I thought you pulled them out!”

“No, they apparently did something particularly questionable.”

“Kazuki?”

“Yes, him too.”

“What did they do? Is it something we need to work on? What-”

“According to the principal they both tied up the teacher, locked them in a closet, and broke into their snack cabinet, leading one of the kids to eat food that they were allergic to.”

“What did they eat?”

“Chocolate syrup and some pancake flour. Apparently their teacher has a taste for chocolate pancakes at the beginning of the day.”

“Oh Allmight! They must have gotten it from you, Kacchan, showing off spectacularly but going against the rules.”

“HEY! DON’T ACCUSE ME! BESIDES I NEVER BROKE THE RULES!”

“They may have been trying to do what you guys did when you took down that old LOV gangster. Adding insult to injury I happen to have a bit of a scuffle with their teacher…”

“Oh.”

“HA! My Rascals, I taught them those knots!”

“Kacchan!”

“Kat!”

When you woke up you could only remember some of what happened. It all came rushing back when you flipped the news on to find your boss had died from a maniacal butler’s murder-suicide. When the kids came running into your room they had explained how they were ‘so excited to have Momma over for their sleepovers’ and that they’d spend the day showing you all the cool stuff they did when they were at Daddy and Pop’s house. That's how the majority of your day went, only ending when your ex-husbands came home with a guy who introduced himself as your boss’ lawyer. He told you that you were entrusted more than a quarter of his fortune and his current estate. When you looked in shock and with furious intent at the two heroes they shrugged and you accepted your check and deed.

When the lawyer left. Katsuki with a curled lip and eyes of disappointment told you how the butler really did get to him before them and had been preparing to repay his victims and their families. Lucky you.

I didn't go into detail for this story but the real life situation is terrifying and confusing.

an: occurs during the pandemic.

bakugo heaves a sigh as he punches in the house passcode. he had a tough day at work, patrolling, chasing after a damned villain, and his interns. who knew being a hero is more tough than it actually seems.

"what the fuc— no, why are you still awake?" bakugo's eyes twitch as soon as he walks into the house. the little blonde, named kazuki, still awake at a godforsaken hour of dawn.

"hi dad." the little blond greets with a small smile, waving the small remote in his hands. before leaving the agency he had already changed and taken a shower, so that was no big deal.

"don't hi dad me, why are you still awake?" he asks sternly, removing his shoes along with his mask. the little boy turns off the tv as he removes himself from the couch.

"i was waiting for you." the boy says as he walks over to the kitchen to grab a bottled water for his father. something he learned from you, everytime bakugo comes home.

"why would you wait for me? you already know i come home late, always." he mumbles the last part, following his son to the kitchen who then hands him a bottle of water.

"i can't sleep."

"lies." bakugo says as he crouches down to tap his son on the nose. kazuki chuckles as he walks to his father to give him a warm hug.

"where's your mum?"

"i don't know, she told me to go to bed but she kept sneezing and going to the bathroom. i was worried so i went out of the room to wait for you and tell you as soon as you get home."

"right, so she's in her room?" the little boy nods. bakugo wraps his hands around the little boy before hoisting him upwards and walking to the little ones room.

"did you brush your teeth?" the blonde man asks his son who simply shakes his head. his [e/c] eyes starting to droop as he rubs them. "i'll brush your teeth and you go to sleep."

the boy simply nods as bakugo opens the door the little boys room. the room surprisingly neat, with all the toys placed away.

"hm. good kid, you—" bakugo heaves a sigh as soon as his eyes land upon the little boy who's snoring away in his arms. his lips twitch upwards as he presses a kiss on the little boys forehead, placing him on his little bed and tucking him away. "night, bud."

he leaves the room silently before walking to your own room. not without hearing a loud sneeze from the other side of the door. he snickers before opening the door to reveal you, hunched over.

"what's wrong with you?" is his first words when he appears. you lazily look at him as he closes the door behind him, concern lacing his eyes.

"i— don't—" your eyes bulge out of your sockets before you could create a complete sentence. you quickly get up on your feet and cover your mouth with your hands.

bakugo takes notice of this and he quickly follows behind you. his eyes are wide as he turns on the bathroom light and takes a hold of your hair.

you lean over the toilet as you start to gorge out the things inside your stomach. bakugo looks at you as you continue gag, tears forming at the side of your eyes.

he frowns with furrowed brows, combing your hair with his fingers properly holding you back. he then grabs the nearest towel he can hold and place it near you to wipe your face with after.

"are you okay?" he asks you as soon as you stop to puke. you dont respond with words as you cough. bakugo's frown deepens and he kneels beside you.

"what's wrong are you sick? did you catch a cold?" he asks you. you shake your head as you redeem yourself. he opens the drawer beside him and he pulls out a hair tie.

he ties your hair into a low pony before standing up straight and grabbing the nearest glass, quickly filling it with water and handing it to you.

"thank you." you mutter as you receive the glass. bakugo's concern goes over the roof as thoughts run in his head. he has not a single clue of what's happening to you, but he knows one person who might.

"did you call the doctor today?" he asks you as he fishes out his phone. you shake your head as you gargle the water and pouring it out.

"how about mum, did you call her?" he asks you as he bites down his lip. you nod this time as you stand. he's quick to his feet and he hold you against him. "what'd she say?" he asks you as he wraps his hands on your waist.

"pregnancy test." you mumble as you start to close your eyes. your hands on his neck as he cradles you.

"pregnancy— test?" he repeats and you hum. he bats his eyes at you and he turns his head to face you. "did you take it?" he asks frantically.

"yea. its in the drawer, i couldn't see the results." you reply and he doesn't waste a second. he quickly opens the drawer with his foot and pulls out the used pregnancy test.

"you didn't see the results?" he asks and you nod. his breath hitches and he places the test on his hand.

its been ages since your first born, and getting a kid now isn't ideal. but its not like he's complaining or anything.

"right,"

he blinks his eyes and he bites on his lips.

he flips the test. and it reveals,

positive.

"oh my fucking god." he whimpers, tears starting to pool in his eyes. his grip on your waist tightens and he buries his head on the crook of your neck.

"what'd say?" you ask and he whimpers as he continues to cry on your shoudler. "katsuki?"

"positive."

you bat your eyes and tears pool your own eyes.

"we're going to have another kid, katsuki." you say as you wrap your arms around his neck harder. "kazuki's going to have a sibling." you cry and he nods.

"we're going to have another child. oh my god. i love you." he says as he continues to dampen your shoulder and you nod with happy tears as you run a hand through his hair.

"i'm going to be a dad of two now. of two, can you believe it?" he says as he continues to sob. "i'm so lucky to have you three in my life. i love you three, more than anything."

"i love you so fucking much, you three."
