Soulmate AU where you can hear whatever song is stuck in their head mixed with a name on the wrist but make it Tokodeku.

Fumikage isn’t sure who, exactly Midoriya Izuku is but they have the most W I L D music taste he has ever heard. Like one moment they are mentally belting ABBA and the next it is just the most hardcore metal and Fumikage wasn’t even sure you could make thoughts that loud but his soulmate definitely has some black magic on their side. At least he knows they won’t be annoyed by the constant stream of emo/general sad boy hours vibes he pours off at all times (and he will never admit to the three days he had Party In The USA stuck in his head because it was stuck in Izuku’s head first and it just wouldn’t go away.) and by the time UA rolls around he has an Image in his mind of what Izuku looks like, surely they have to at least resemble someone who would enjoy the kind of music that is mostly drums and screaming about the horrors of society and fuck the police and how their dad probably never loved them.

And then they see the absolute epitome of sunshine bobbing their head to the beat of the song he can hear clear as day in his head that absolutely doesn’t match with the face in front of him and he knows even before he hears them introduce themself to a few of their other classmates and he might or might not shove himself between Bakugou when he goes to start screaming again and gets all of “I’m Toko-“ out before their damn sensei who is clearly morally against love in all forms inchworms his way into the room and tells them to take their gym uniforms and get out on the field and then Izuku is gone and he’s just left staring after them wondering if it was all a cruel dream and he’s going to wake up any second.

Then Aizawa-sensei takes role out on the field and Izuku actually trips over themself trying to see who raises their hand and he knows that it’s not. That he’s finally found them. That he will get to hear every song that crosses their mind when the hum while working on their notes or dancing around the form kitchen when it’s their turn to clean.

Soulmate prompt: meeting your Soulmate in dreams, but can't remember the dreams in waking world, tokoyami/izumi

You don't remember your dreams. Or well, not until you meet. Izumi knows she has dreams because of the feeling she gets after them. She knows she has a soulmate, a soulmate who cares about her and would do anything for her.

It's everyone else who doesn't believe. Even her own mother presses her lips down so hard they go white when Izumi talks about having the feeling. She's a Quirkless Deku, she can't have the dreams.

Some days Izumi wants to start screaming and never stop because she HAS the dreams, she knows she does. But no one believes her. So instead she turns her attention to other things. Analysis mostly, and training. Something inside her whispers about training for heroics, and she knows she needs it. There's the issue of no one wanting to take her on as a student and her mother's discouraging actions about her being a hero, but Izumi tries.

She tries hard enough she gets an acceptance letter from UA that she gleefully shows off to her paling mother, who looks at Izumi like she's never seen her daughter before. It stings, more so when her mother makes noises about not letting her go but the contract signed by her mom and the fact that her dad left her a lot of money for education her mom isn't in charge of makes it easy to ignore her.

Though Izumi does end up in an apartment by herself in the end, so it's not all that great. Her dad's lawyer had shown up after Inko called, and laid out some hard facts. Facts that has Izumi flee. She lays in bed and shakes, staring at the ceiling.

She wants her soulmate.

She sits in a library, waiting. Who is she waiting for...

"Izumi!" a voice says and she knows that voice. It's Fumikage!

"Fumi!" she cries, standing up. She runs to the birdheaded boy who hugs her and she feels the tears begin. "Fumi, things... things went so wrong... I... I'm by myself now, and I'm so scared."

"We'll see each other soon. We're both in 1A," Fumikage tells her and Izumi hugs the boy tighter.

They were. They would see each other very soon.
