Real Skincare Guide

Level 1: breakouts, non-painful, a little scarring

Minimize your skincare routine, all you need is an oil cleanser (if you wear a lot of makeup) than a good foam cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Repeat the same routine before bed just without the sunscreen.

Wear sunscreen everyday!!!

Always apply more moisturizer than you think you need.

Drink a lot of water (2-3LT)

Get consistent sleep

Take a multi vitamins to balance your hormones. I recommend the One-A-Day Woman’s Vitamins (get a real pill cause the gummies don’t have enough iron)

Work on your stress (breathe work, meditate, journal, yoga, walks, going out with friends, therapy, etc)

Look at what body oils/shampoo/conditioner you are using. Could be your akin reacting poorly to something in there.

Level 2: consistant breakouts, acne, scarring

All the stuff for Level 1 apply.

Minimize your skincare routine and than slowly add back in stuff like hydrochloric acid and retinol. Having an elaborate skincare will just make your skin worse. First, focus on healing your skin barrier.

If you are a teenager, it just might be your hormones/growing pains. It will go away eventually.

Pimple Patches work and are especially good if you are trying to stop touching your face.

Wash your pillow cases every 1-2 weeks.

Try to sleep on your back.

If you pop a pimple than apply an antibiotic ointment.

No point in using anti-aging products if you are under the age of 25. It just won’t do anything for you.

Note that if you take in a lot of nicotine you will breakout. If you smoke and you have bad skin, it probably won’t improve unless you quit or lessen the dosage.

Level 3: painful consistent breakouts/acne/scars, redness, irritability, hurts,

Go see a dermatologist!

Acne is can be a real problem. If your acne is painful seek professional help.

If Accutane is recommended, than I would do it. Based only on the experiences of my friends, I have seen great results after a couple months. There are side effects and it is not for everyone but if a professional says you should than I might consider it.

No topical treatment is going to make those scars go away. You are going to need to laser resurfacing which is like this secret treatment rich people do to clear up their skin. It is expensive but really works. Beauty brands want you to think that the right cream can clear up your skin but if you have bad scarring you are only going to see real results with laser treatments

Your acne does not take away from your beauty or your worth as a human being. Remember that acne is normal and social media is fake.

Pleasing Scent Samples

Hello, friends! I ordered the Big Lip balm from Pleasing and with it came a fun surprise.

I already gave my initial impressions to @twopoppies as soon as I opened the package. It’s been a couple hours or so now so the scents have dried down on my skin and I can take a second smell to let you know my thoughts.

Full disclosure, I don’t think I have a very sophisticated nose 😂 But I’ll try my best to describe as accurately as possible. That said, I’m sure I’ll miss the actual notes and ingredients so consider this the most unprofessional review you could get from someone that just really loves perfumes and doesn’t mind being totally honest for better or for worse.

RIVULETS

Pepper, pine, and powder with floral come through. It reminds me so much of Gucci Memoire but slightly lighter. These are the notes from Fragrantica and I swear Rivulets is very much this but slightly cooler.

It also reminds me of Diptyque’s Figuier scent too. Overall very woody and clean!

Unfortunately it just won’t stay on my skin. I tried it on my wrist and the back of my arm but it only lasts about 10mins or so and then vanishes. ☹️ I really do love it (I was also a fan of Memoire) but if I took the risk of buying it, I know I’d have to put some Vaseline or something else on first to hopefully help the scent last longer.

Bright, Hot

Delicious! Cinnamon, Vanilla, Fruity! It reminds me of bourbon with some sweet tanginess. Or maybe Peach Schnapps! Like it has the spiciness from alcohol but I swear it makes my mouth water like after biting into a ripe peach. This is what I wanted Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach to smell like but Ford’s is just too musky and overpowering for me. I’ll 100% be purchasing Bright, Hot though! It’s so much more pleasant and light. The fruity notes come through with this more vs the musk. And it STAYED on my skin. I’m so obsessed with it, I want it in as a perfume and candle (Harold, please 🙏🏽).

Here are the notes from Bitter Peach to get an idea of what I mean:

Closeness

Oh, she’s SEXY 😮‍💨

I told @twopoppies it smells like spice, pink fruity bubblegum and a pink bubble bath! I also get rose. Pink, pink, pink. They chose the sample card well.

This one is the heaviest scent, almost like oud with it’s dark muskiness. But that sweet floral scent just makes it completely intoxicating. I couldn’t stop smelling myself after putting it on, it also had the strongest lasting power on my skin.

If this is the scent people are describing a “vaporub and sex” I don’t disagree but I don’t think the description necessarily does it justice. 😂 All the scents are definitely meant to be unisex so they all have a powdery, spiciness to them. But this one is just so alluring and HOT. It gives me sweat, heat and sweet playfulness.

The closest thing I could compare it to in my own collection of perfumes was Clean Reserve’s Sparkling Sugar.

But switch the Fruity and Musky amounts. Closeness is like this scent’s naughty sister. 🖤

And there you have it! As I said, I’m not a professional perfume reviewer by any means (clearly 🤣) but I hope this gives everyone some idea of what they can expect! And of course if anyone else got the samples and would like to add (or tell me I’m completely off the mark, haha) please do.

Overall I genuinely loved each scent and think there’s something for everybody here. My favorite compliment is when someone tells me I smell good so I’m really particular about what I wear but I can honestly say I’d wear all of these happily. I lean more towards Bright, Hot for my personal preference but Rivulets smells great for an everyday scent where Closeness would be perfect for a date night out. The quality also seems to be great so if you do plan to purchase like I am, I don’t think we’ll be disappointed with the product.

“You’re a little bit of a whore,”

The words feel strange on his tongue. Like a smoke signal. A last-ditch effort to call wayward ships home. They sound like his father. Like a script long abandoned with the drying ink of divorce papers. 

Steve feels like shit. Steve’s gonna vomit, pea-green lace tacking his sleep shirt to his skin, and.

Billy freezes with his palm on the third belt loop. 

“What?” 

His knuckles are white from cinching leather in place, closing shop.

Steve swallows, tongue thick and heavy. “You’re a slut,” Steve says. He pokes at faded blue carpet underfoot with one toe, trying to feel the paneled wall behind his back warming like the center of a flame where he’s pressed against it.

Billy’s eyes are cold. Sea glass blue. “And you’re an asshole.”

“It’s the truth.”

“I wanna look nice,” Billy mutters. He pulls the tank top off of his shoulders from the hem, dragging it up his face like a coroner’s cloth.

His tits bunch together. Bulge and swell, and. Steve tries not to to look. Fails. Closes his eyes while Billy pulls a dress shirt on. Left and then right bicep, buttoning until his chest mimics sandy beaches lapping against the turquoise surf.

Steve can’t breathe. He’s gonna pass out.

“You already look nice,” Steve tells him. And Billy snorts like he does when he’s flattered but he’s mad about it, too. 

Angry cow. A charging bull. 

Steve’s not afraid of him. Steve gets to see him like this. Cheeks red and creased. Curls soft and frizzy from laying in bed all day, reading under the covers. 

Billy tugs his jeans on and puts cream under his eyes. Slathers deodorant under his pits until he smells like the sea in winter. 

He’s going. 

Steve can’t believe he’s actually going through with this, so he sits up a little straighter, spine curving off the wall.

“Why do you always dress like that?” Steve says, strong and steady, adapting like his father always could. He thunks his head against the wall. Blinks away tears. “You’re dressed like a hooker.”

It hurts him. Both of them.

Billy smiles sadly, like he sees right through it. “Need more leather for that, baby.”

“Put the jacket on,” Steve says. 

“Too cold out for the black leather,”

Billy’s fussing with himself in the mirror, trying to achieve perfection in the same panicked way girls do. Primping his curls, slathering shiny pink balm over each lip and smacking them together. 

It’s watermelon. Steve can smell it from here. 

It turns his stomach.

Steve bites he inside of his cheek. Tastes blood. “Which jacket are you gonna wear?” He asks. Steady. Strong.

Billy stares at him through the mirror, eyes bright. “Why are you riding my ass?”

“I’m not riding your ass, it’s cold outside.”

Billy nods at him, small and curt, eyes dropping to the stash of cologne he keeps on the dresser by the window. “I’ll be fine. I don’t need a jacket.”

He’s going. 

He’s actually--

Steve gets off the floor. Stretches a little and moves the covers on the bed, and. Sits on the bed. Like he’s never done it before. Like he isn’t sure the bed can hold him. 

Billy picks the Tom Ford Steve got him for Christmas. He squirts his neck, right behind each ear. His wrists, where he rubs them together, and.

His dick. 

Steve’s gonna vomit. He clears his throat, “You’re not sleeping with her, are you?”

“Steve.”

“You only spray your pants if you’re gonna sleep with them.”

“Why do you care what happens?” Billy demands. “You told me to do this. You said it would be a good idea to do this--”

“I didn’t think you really would.”

“So this was a test?” He turns, feet planted to take the weight of whatever Steve wants to tell him. “What the fuck.”

He's beautiful. 

Clean and masculine and lovely. Steve hates it. Wants him stripped down, wrapped in threadbare sheets, cheeks pink and pillow-lined, reading out loud until Steve floats. Forgets his own name.

Steve gets off the bed. Plants his own feet, knees shaking a little. “You look like a corner girl but you’re better than that. You’re better than this.”

Billy exhales, sharp and sudden. “Why are you talking to me like that?” 

“Like what?”

“Like you’re a fifty-year-old man who’s wife is gonna pack up and skip town?”

Steve blinks, squares his jaw. “I’m not--”

"It won’t work,” Billy snaps. Quiet and final. “I’m not your mama and we’re not married.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Say that shit to me again and I’ll crack your skull.”

“Billy--”

“I’m not so strung out on you that I won’t rock your fucking shit, alright?” He turns, stalking to the wardrobe where he disappears, digging around for something warm. 

Steve wants to put his arms around Billy. 

He feels sick to his stomach. Billy reemerges with a brown leather jacket, already shrugging into it when he realizes Steve might cry because he’s sniffling. Choking softly on something like love.

“Don’t go.”

“I’m not standing this chick up.”

“This was so fucking stupid,” Steve admits suddenly, exasperated. “I never should’ve told you to do this.”

“So why did you?”

“Because,” Steve whimpers, pathetic. So fucking pathetic and sick to his stomach with love. 

He wants to say it. 

Billy’s standing in front of him, open and expectant, still so sweet after all the shit Steve’s put him through, and.

Steve swallows it. Everything. 

He shakes his head. “It’s alright. Go.”

Billy takes a small, shuffling step backward as if Steve had tried to hit him. His eyes close like doors. Fill with water. 

Billy nods. “Don’t wait up.”

His cheeks aren’t pillow lined anymore.

When she goes out, she really adores those small girly purses, quilted and elegant from Coco Chanel, Guess or Hermes. The whole "rococo" style hides the fact that her purse in those occasions mostly contains a few makeup items, her phone, a fake ID card and a pepper spray.

When she's not attending people, Sybille likes Mickael Kors handbag, which can definitely provide more space inside. She has always preferred handbag rather than back pack anyway.

Cellphone:

She's more of a Samsung girl than Apple. From her clients, she always manages to snatch the latest items, and she's craving the last tendance. Currently, she has the new Samsung Flip. Easy to carry in her purse.

Chapstick/Lip Balm:

Various items, depending on her clothes and the mood of the night. She has a profound love for liquid lipsticks with shiny colors, the very ones made by Tom Ford, Fenty Beauty or Guerlain.

For moistering her lips, she will prefer clinical brand like Erborian (from South Korea).

Wallet:

To match her purses, she has several wallets from different brands. Her favorite is still her little black one from Chanel. She can carry enough bills if she wants to hang out, and it's far enough when she knows she won't have to pay for her drinks and food.

Umbrella:

Elegant and large umbrella (for the style) that she always picks from the same store. She doesn't know the brand, but she's sensitive to the luxurious atmosphere of the store (they are also selling shoes). She always picks the white one, with the golden border.

Jewelry:

Ouf, it's hard to pick! Sybille is particularly fond of jewels, and she's lucky enough to collect a few from her clients. Depending on whom she's attending at night, she could change her style or wear what they have offered in the past.

She particularly loves pink gold, she has several bracelets. She likes large jewels around her wrists, but will prefer small and discreet ones around her neck. Sybille never wears rings, or very rarely.

Water bottle:

She hydrates herself quite well during the day, and to be aesthetically pleasing, she often buys those glass bottles with a golden cap. She likes to add lemons and cucumbers, a good way to get vitamins after her daily work out.

Other Items:

chris met rebecca on one of his benders. a one night stand turned into a friends with benefits situation. they were just as bad as each other, giving in to every impulse, and encouraging the other to take what was already a bad decision even further. 

the apple didn’t fall far from the tree with their daughter lili. she was an unplanned child, her parents not even bothering to hide their disappointment. with pregnancy came sobriety, for rebecca at least. chris would continue to stay out until late. coming home smelling like liquor, if he came home at all. 

despite being checked out of the family before it had even started, chris got down on one knee when rebecca was six months pregnant. a courthouse wedding just so they could say they were married. 

when lili was born, she was pretty much immediately shoved on her aunt for babysitting. a bender disguised as a honeymoon seemingly more important. 

unfortunately for everyone involved,, they Did come back to collect her eventually. 

growing up, lili quickly learned her parents were not as strict as the other peers’. she could get away with a lot more than the other kids. apathy or intoxication; whatever the reason, she didn’t question it. sneaking out for parties, sneaking people in – it was all too easy to get away with. 

the label of ‘wild child’ came naturally. 

lbr this is probably a cry for attention. she won’t admit it!! as she got older, she started to hang out with a “bad crowd”. her actions getting more and more reckless, skipping school, drinking & smoking more. this will get fleshed out soon soz 

she was sent to meraviglia (and her aunt) as punishment, hoping it would straighten her out. something, unfortunately, not happening. she plays the part well enough to keep the dean off her back, but it's amazing how much you can sneak under the nose of a woman with a million jobs.

her relationship with professor dupont is a tricky one. she finds it amusing to watch him go head to head with the dean, but that’s still her aunt. he knows her secret, but he didn’t tell. every time the professor pushed lili, it was a flip of a coin as to whether she’d take his advice or argue with him. 

she had never asked to be a part of praeditus. didn’t want to be there, and she knew they didn’t really want her there, either. they wanted the dean’s goddaughter but they didn’t want lili. 

navigating the group now that dupont is gone? it’s tricky to say the least. it was easy to pretend the apathy was all she felt when he was alive, but now he’s gone and she can’t cling to that aloofness. he’s not inserting himself into lili’s life anymore, but she can’t let it go. 

though her godmother seems content turning a blind eye, lili has made it her mission to find out what happened. even if that means dragging buckthorn along for the ride.

let's  do  a  weird  headcanon  thing.

WHAT  THEY  SMELL  LIKE  :          gravitates  towards  citrusy  or  earthy  scents,  rather  than  overly  floral  or  sweet  scents.  an  example  of  an  everyday  perfume  is  tom  ford  neroli  portofino,  when  going  out  either  with  friends  or  a  significant  other  she  often  reaches  for  something  more  feminine  like  tom  ford  black  orchid.  tends  to  splurge  on  expensive  perfumes  and  moisturizers  due  to  her  busy  lifestyle  and  how  she  forgets  to  take  care  of  herself  on  a  daily  basis  -  thinking  that  expensive  products  will  make  up  for  lack  of  extensive  self-care.  often  there’s  also  a  hint  of  minty  smells  lingering,  due  to  chewing  gum,  toothpaste,  or  mints.

HOW  THEY  SLEEP  (  sleeping  position,  schedule,  etc  )  :          hates  to  sleep  by  herself,  requires  some  sort  of  noise  to  fall  asleep  -  preferably  the  soft  snores  of  a  significant  other.  also  prefers  to  sleep  cuddled  up  to  someone  or  something.  much  to  her  dismay  kenai  (  adopted  german  shepherd,  formerly  with  navy  seal  until  an  accident  that  left  him  blind  )  refuses  to  sleep  in  her  bed,  instead  sleeping  on  the  floor  beside  the  bed.  tends  to  run  a  little  cold,  hence  why  she  usually  wears  socks  to  bed.  sleep  attire  varies  from  old  college  t-shirts  to  slip  dresses  and  everything  in-between  dependent  on  the  situation.  suffers  from  nightmares  revolving  around  her  twin  brother’s  murder,  especially  bad  around  the  anniversary  of  his  death.  usually  sleeps  on  her  stomach  with  her  left  leg  hiked  around  an  extra  blanket  and  at  least  one  arm  tugged  beneath  her  pillow.

WHAT  MUSIC  THEY  ENJOY  :          a  general  preference  towards  pop  music,  especially  late  90’s  to  early  10’s.  knows  just  about  every  britney  song  by  heart.  had  an  avid  boyband  phase  and  refuses  to  pick  between  ‘n  sync,  westlife  or  backstreet  boys  -  they’re  all  GREAT.  playlist  also  includes  80s  music  due  to  her  love  for  80s  movies.  will  always  take  suggestions  for  new  music  to  include  on  her  playlists.

HOW  MUCH  TIME  THEY  SPEND  EVERY  MORNING  GETTING  READY  :          usually  leia  gets  up  at  five  fifteen,  running  tights  and  sports  bra  lay  ready  from  the  night  before.  quick  brush  of  her  teeth  and  then  she  is  out  of  the  door  at  five  thirty  with  kenai.  four  miles  and  twenty  to  half  an  hour  later  they  return,  she  jumps  in  the  shower.  often  enjoying  the  hot  water,  a  little  too  long  before  she’s  rushing  to  get  ready.  sunscreen,  neat  tight  bun,  and  tinted  lip  balm  a  crucial  part  of  her  morning  routine,  before  she  rushes  out  of  the  door  at  6.45.  summarizing  her  workday  morning  routine  to  approximately  one  and  a  half  hours.  on  days  where  she’s  not  working,  she  usually  allows  herself  to  sleep  until  7,  daily  run  switched  with  a  hike  and  spends  more  time  in  front  of  the  mirror  -  taking  better  care  of  her  skin  and  herself  because  she  has  a  tendency  to  forget  about  selfcare  -  so  when  time  allows  for  it  she  attempts  more  selfcare.  adding  an  additional  hour  to  her  morning  rutine.  if  she  has  plans,  she  will  take  time  to  do  her  makeup  as  well  as  her  hair.

FAVORITE  THING  TO  COLLECT  :          generally  speaking  she  isn’t  much  of  a  collector,  she  does  not  like  clutter.  however,  she  has  kept  all  of  her  late  father’s  medal,  decorations  and  patches  that  he’s  gotten  through  the  years  of  service  in  the  royal  navy  until  his  passing.

LEFT  OR  RIGHT  HANDED  :          ambidextrous  with  a  slight  preference  towards  her  left  hand,  due  to  favoring  her  left  hand  as  a  child.  

FAVORITE  SPORT(S)  :          football,  god  save  the  poor  soul  who  dares  to  call  it  soccer  in  her  presence!  watches  the  premier  league  when  time  allows  her  to,  growing  up  in  england  for  the  first  decade  of  her  life  -  her  favourite  team  being  liverpool.  got  somewhat  into  hockey  due  to  an  ex-boyfriend  playing  college  hockey.

FAVORITE  TOURISTY  THING  TO  DO  WHEN  TRAVELLING  :          a  foodie  at  heart,  though  not  much  of  a  cook  herself  -  leia  enjoys  exploring  the  cuisine  of  whatever  place  she  is  travelling  to.  also  loves  to  explore  nature  and  wildlife  of  the  place  if  given  the  change.  generally  speaking,  she  prefers  to  spend  time  outside  rather  than  to  be  stuck  inside  for  longer  periods  of  time  whenever  she  is  travelling.

FAVORITE  KIND  OF  WEATHER  :          silent  rain  where  the  sun  peeks  through  heavy  skies,  resulting  in  the  creation  of  rainbows.  prefers  the  spring  season,  the  blooming  of  flowers  and  how  everything  slowly  comes  back  to  life  after  winter.

WEIRD  /  OBSCURE  FEAR  THEY  HAVE  :          becoming  like  her  mother  is  her  greatest  fear.  more  obscure  fears  include  fear  of  hospitals,  both  as  a  patient  and  next  of  kin.  the  smell  of  blood  and  death  luring  around  the  corner,  a  reminder  of  how  she  lost  her  twin.  resulting  in  her  either  ignoring  or  downplaying  injuries  to  avoid  hospitals  or  the  medical  wing  at  base.

THE  CARNIVAL  /  ARCADE  GAME  THEY  ALWAYS  WIN  WITHOUT  FAIL  :          will  try  absolutely  everything  at  a  carnival,  generally  speaking  she  has  a  good  aim.  plus,  she  is  a  very  competitive  person,  losing  not  part  of  her  vocabulary.  a  sore  loser,  who  may  or  may  not  claim  carnival  games  are  rigged  whenever  she  loses.

I have really been wanting to try out merit and saie beauty recently; I have absolutely loved their branding and philosophies so it’s only a matter of time before i get some of their products for myself. I am someone who doesn’t really like traveling with powder products since they are more likely to shatter; i’d rather have cream products, where even if they break, i can use them in a different container instead of having powder everywhere. All of these formulas are creams or liquids that are perfect for me to travel with. Plus, all of these products would be what I would reach for when I wanted a little pick me up, not so much full glam full cover makeup. I think the last time I did that was for my high school senior pictures. Because I was being professionally photographed.

I do have a larger beauty wishlist, but these are my want-wants, really, as opposed to what i would like to try and use daily.

Most of my skincare wants are just more rich moisturizers. I tend to have dry skin, unless it’s peak summer when it feels like I’m in a rice cooker, since that is super humid.

No matter how much I love beauty products, I do not wish to have the 2016 makeup collections, where there is so much that it is useless. If I ever get there in my career, I fully intend to give that surplus to someone who could use the bulk of it, like a makeup artist. I don’t know if I’ll ever get there, but I know I don’t want 80 foundations just rolling around in a drawer. That goes for skincare too; I do not want the skincare tiktoker collection that will expire in 6 months. I think, in a small thought, the best way to actually review that much product without wasting it would be to keep notes on the different products and how they worked, and how they compare to other products as a frame of reference, then use the product. I know for me that if I really need to use a skincare product before it goes bad, I’ll use it on my body. But that also would take more effort than a lot of people want to put into something, and I’m aware of that.

That is my little Sephora round up here for this spring and summer, and if you’d like, you can share with me what you’re looking at for this sale, or what you’re not looking at. Knowing me, I’ll end up just getting two products from this sale.

We are back to presenting random photos. It's just for a change, so as not to fall into a routine. I drew one of the most charming photos of ZZH. Year 2021. A lot of fantastic ZZH photo sessions. A six-month festival thanks to which we could enjoy his person. Styling for the Tom Ford ad. This is my favorite brand, I like their makeup products and fragrances. The scent of Black Orchid suits ZZH in my opinion. In the picture we have a nice close-up of ZZH's face. Even the filter is not too strong and his warm complexion looks fantastic with a white T-shirt and a mint sweatshirt. Light makeup does not cover his moles on his face. His large eyes are nicely exposed under thick, combed eyebrows. The lips are subtly covered with balm. In addition, a short haircut creating the appearance of a slight disorder on the head. A lot of accessories also give earrings and a chain, all maintained in one styling. Looking at the photo, we see a young man in youth clothes. He has such a thoughtful expression on his face here, maybe he's wondering how his photo shoot with GJ will turn out. Will it be good enough to encourage customers to buy the products? I like such photos and ZZH on them.
