“Tales Psychological and Gruesome” by Edgar Allan Poe
I have no idea where I found this little bad boy, I forgot I had it. I looked into these and really wanted to start collecting them. Now that I’m an adult and I can do those things on my own with my own hard earned money, I might just start.

So based off of your Chrobin ship, what would Lucina and Morgan inherit from their parents?
I have been neglecting my inbox for so long haha
But since I ship both M!Robin and F!Robin with Chrom and no specific ship was requested, I just did both
Tumblr media
I tend to headcanon a pretty significant height difference between Chrom and Robin (almost a full head, which only gets more extreme since Robin tends to slouch).  Build-wise, Chrom is very broad in the chest and shoulders and has a lot of heavy muscle, great for strong blows; while Robin is much lighter – she’s hardly weak, she’s just all lean muscle and quick reflexes.  Robin also tends to have more sharpness in her facial features (narrow chin, high cheekbones, etc) compared to Chrom’s more rounded (squared jawline and broader nose, for example), and Robin’s hair is very light and feathery soft compared to Chrom’s, which is much thicker and smoother.
Lucina definitely inherited her father’s height: she’s not quite as tall as he is, but it’s a fairly near thing, which makes er significantly taller than her mother.  Her build, meanwhile, she pretty much inherited from Robin outright: while she is slightly more muscular and certainly no pushover in a sword fight, she doesn’t have her father’s broad chest or shoulders, and relies much more on footwork and using her enemy’s force against them.  Her facial structure is more reminiscent of her mother than her father, though many of her features are significantly softened compared to Robin’s, but her hair is pretty much all Chrom: thick, silky, and almost impossible to tame.
Morgan, meanwhile, definitely got his height from his mother’s side: he was always a tiny child, and while his growth spurt might have been comparatively impressive, he’ll never be much taller than his mom.  He takes significantly more after Chrom in terms of his build, tending to be a bit broader in the chest and shoulders – though that doesn’t impact his tomework in the least, except to make him harder to push back.  His facial features have a softness to them that hearkens back to his father, as well, but his hair is much more reminiscent of his mother, soft and rather feathery regardless of color (though he definitely got the cowlick from Chrom).
Tumblr media
I am one of the seemingly few people who actually headcanons M!Robin as taller than Chrom (Robin just has a horrible slouch, so no one realizes this fact).  Build-wise, Chrom is very broad in the chest and shoulders and sports a lot of muscle; while Robin’s build is very light, almost birdlike, with lots of lean muscle – he’s not a weakling by any means, but he’s suited for evasion and flight rather than physical confrontations.  Robin tends to have lots of sharp angles in his face, as well (narrow chin, high cheekbones) compared to Chrom’s more rounded ones (more of a squared jawline, in particular), and Robin’s hair is significantly lighter and more feathery, while Chrom’s tends to be thicker and smoother.
Lucina is slightly shorter than both Chrom and Robin, though it’s only by a narrow margin, so likely both of them had a part in her overall height.  Meanwhile, inherited her build from Robin almost outright: she’s got more muscle and she’s one heck of a physical fighter, but compared to her father she’s much narrower in the shoulders and chest and relies significantly more on quick footwork as opposed to brute force.  Her facial structure takes more after Robin’s, though her features are rather softer by comparison, but her hair is pretty much all Chrom, thick and silky (if unruly).
Morgan, meanwhile, is the shortest of the bunch, and will likely never reach Lucina’s height…which is something of a throwback on both sides of the family, to Robin’s mother on one side and her Aunt Lissa on the other.   She takes significantly more after Chrom in build, being somewhat broader in the shoulders and hips and having a slightly heavier build overall; this does not, however, detract in the least from her magic – it just means she can hold her ground through a heck of a lot more.  She inherited a lot of the softer qualities in her facial structure from Chrom, but her hair is much closer to Robin’s downy soft consistency regardless of color (though that impossible cowlick is likely the fault of them both).

❝ Father, I need some pointers. I've been trying to go over this tomework, but... it seems that I'm not all that great at it. I don't think I really inherited a hand for magic at all. Do you think maybe you can make some time to help me? ❞
"Let's see what cha got there kiddo?" Henry remarked with a grin as he leaned over to look at what his son his with him. "Make time for you? Inigo... I always have time for ya. Let's see if we can get ya to at least zapping your foes."

MURDER MYSTERY RECAP – WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED.
Important information was discovered yesterday, including the MURDER WEAPON. A wind tome that had been used all too recently, wet from the water it had been thrown in before turning up stashed away in the inner baths. Anna’s wounds could be deduced to sloppy wind magic, so naturally, surely, all skilled mages should have been knocked out, but it was not so in the guests investigations. All were still players in this game of theirs. But some of our suspects are looking more and more innocent as more of this comes to light.
IN THE CASE OF:
ROBIN: Reiterates that she had ordered a specialty basket from Anna, to which all products in it were old and defective. Angry with this, the basket was destroyed. Her arms bare bruises and scars from magic overuse, to which she states that she prefers wind magic, but insists that they are from the defective oils, and does make note that she tried to heal them herself. Does also point out that any blow back from magic would have been able to have been healed, so Kagero's search methods may be flawed. States she hadn’t casted any spells since the wounding of her arm. Also states that she saw Anna in a state of disarray before the murder time, but only traded a few snide remarks with her.
LASLOW: Keeps to his timeline of events, is discovered that he is ‘ decent ’ with magic, and would at least know to move out of the way of any blow back with a wind tome. Robin states to have checked in with him briefly before her baths as he was late for his shift at the bazaar, showing up a little past 9:00 pm. Anything else against him has seemed to be dropped, however.
HENRY: It was noted by Robin that Henry had been feeling rather distressed and angry, to which he then states it was merely because he had to work that day on his supposed day off. His testimony puts him in his cabin around 7:00 pm to wait for Reflet to go to the bazaar. Anything else against him seems to be a dead end.
REFLET: States that he saw Anna alive around 6:00 pm, and returned to the resort around 9:00 pm when he saw Takumi pass by with a bag, presumably for his yumi and bows and targets. Also gives off the idea that it was a size to be able to tote a book around if need be, but says it as a thought. Reiterates that he was not carrying anything on his person, nor was there anything in his coat to be used as a murder weapon. His arms are free of bruising from blow back magic. Stated Takumi was walking at a pretty brisk pace to the bath house. Doesn’t deny feeling unwell during the beginning of the week, but does not recall any blank spots in his memory, and feels much better after having some sleep.
LEO: Leo argued with Anna at noon about the photos taken of him during the summer event. Afterwards he was with Forrest running their booth until 6:00 pm. At this time he believed he saw Anna ALIVE, walking out of the bazaar area.Spent time afterwards until 9:00, walking around the bazaar area to check out booths with Forrest. Was with Robin in the inner baths after 9:00. Some time later, they separated. Leo had to go back for his forgotten headband where he then heard a scream from the outer bathes. While a tome was found to be the weapon of choice and found to be in the inner baths, there were no signs of bruising/scratches due to blow back found on Leo. Anna was found to have Leo’s pictures on her dead corpse.
TAKUMI: Takumi claims to having been training the entire day doing target practice in the woods. Because of a headache due to his time spent training he went for food and water, passing by Anna a good bit before 9:00. Later, he walks past Reflet on his way to the washroom. Hears the bells, but is uncertain about the time. Takumi was noted to be carrying a bag with him on his walk past Reflet. He has stated he was using a spellbane yumi, but deems it unimportant. Takumi has no wounds from a blow back from any tomework, but is noted to be decent with wind spells as he is proficient with his Fujin Yumi. Takumi claims not to have been injured at all during the trip aside from tripping once and another time hitting his head on a branch in the woods. Apparently, training made his head fuzzy as he doesn't actually have a clear recollection of anything past coming back to the woods for a drink and snack. This is beginning to distress him.
NIX: It was revealed that the murder weapon was Nix’s tome that she had dropped on her way away from her argument with Anna over pictures of her that the merchant was wanting to sell of her. Their argument was before 9:00pm, and before Robin had found Anna in disarray in the bathhouse. When she learned it was dropped, she panicked, but the tome itself turns up in the inner bath house where Robin and Leo reportedly were, surely dunked in the water and moved. While she had the tome, she insists that she is unable to read, and therefore would not have been able to cast a spell from it. She does not know how to use tome magic.

she actually looks so pretty as a hoshido noble??? the only reason i didnt go with it as her rev class is because she’s… not very good at healing as opposed to tomework.
depending on what happens in revelations and whether more healers are needed ara may switch, but otherwise she sticks to nohr noble.

ATTN: DET. DRAGMIO
DOVE JUDICIAL GUARDHOUSE INVESTIGATIONS ATTN: DET. DRAGMIO
Pursuant to your repeated requests, no. Our offer of Kome as assistant is final. No other students are under consideration at this time, and your complaints do not justify rescinding the assistanceship.
DEAKIN TOMEWORKS DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF ARTS
DOVE JUDICIAL GUARDHOUSE INVESTIGATIONS ATTN: DET. DRAGMIO
Don't push your luck with the deans; our friendship only goes so far, and this isn't remotely my area of responsibility.
However, speaking of luck... I had the odd fortune of debriefing someone interesting today. One of the merchant busy-bees walked into town last night joined by a passenger: a foreigner familiar with the sorts of tricks you've been seeking. They appear to be unaware of the city, and aren't bound by the College's inanity.
Eventually someone ought be officious about it. But your desperation tends to drive my sympathies, so I shall endeavor to delay any report until you've made use of this foreigner. They've been told to meet you in Brekamayke Park around noon tomorrow.
Good luck with your case, Spunce.

Another one I’m currently reading.
“How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence” by Michael Pollan
Back in the 50s and 60s psychedelic drugs like psilocybin and LSD were actually seen as helpful tools into understanding the human brain. Somewhere along the line it got a bad wrap with rumors of bad trips, people committing suicide while under the influence of these substances, and even the idea that someone would permanently lose their mind if they were to ever consume these compounds.
In recent years, starting back in the 90s, psychedelics made a come back in the mental health field. Credited with helping treat anxiety, depression, addiction and more in minuscule “micro-doses”, LSD and the active psychedelic compound in magic mushrooms, psilocybin, have slowly regained their reputation as being something almost spiritual.
It’s gone so far as for the federal government to allow the import of foreign psychedelic compounds and substances that naturally produce said substances like “ayahuasca” from Central and South America for religious purposes. These religious ties to psychedelic compounds has opened a lot of doors for those interested in the science and spirituality of psychedelics.

I actually started reading this as soon as I got home. So it’s being added to my “currently reading” list
“My Best Friend’s Exorcism” by Grady Hendrix
An 80s themed horror comedy?? Absolutely. Also the cover, the cover makes the whole book for me I really feel like I’m about to experience a true classic horror novel. I really hope this lives up to the hype because it will easily be one of my all time favorite books.
Stay tuned for more on this one!!

This is a rather fascinating read. It’s a cocktail recipe book, and a bit more than that.
“Field Guide to Hendrick’s: Vol. Two”
I love Hendrick’s gin and I have every bottle so far from their cabinet of curiosities. This was on the shelf of a used bookstore for like $2 so of course I had to!!
Various recipes for cocktails, a little bit of history on Hendrick’s, and some other interesting information. Honestly a darn good deal.

Ok let’s start here I guess? More of a novelty procurement than anything else.
“The Lesser Key of Solomon” by S.L. MacGregor Mathers & Aleister Crowley
I don’t subscribe to western religion or Christianity. I’ve found bits and pieces of things that make sense to me from various classes of religious thought and yet none as a whole make sense to me. So why not dive into some hermetic texts too?

I was already up to almost $50 in books so I had to take a pass on this $30+ volume on CRT texts.
“Critical Race Theory: the Key Writings that formed the Movement”
This is a hefty volume chock full of information. Incredibly in depth. Groundbreaking works. Will be added to my shelf sooner or later.

The first of many titles I’ll be sharing from class this semester.
“Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell
This is part of an extra credit assignment due for my social work class, due at the end of October so I need to get cracking on this one if I’m going to read it a couple times and get the project done.
What makes successful people successful? It’s more than just ambition, intelligence, and personality traits. What makes someone successful relies heavily on factors nobody likes to talk about. Gladwell starts that conversation here with this book.
I will share more of my thoughts as I finish the book and the project!!

So school has already started and my course load is kind of a lot, plus I work a full time job, and I’m trying to flip a house, and I have family vacations and other engagements. It’s going to be a busy couple of months, but I have some interesting reading coming down the pipeline this semester and I’m excited to share some of it with you all!!

After seeing this book for the first time and making the mistake of not buying it, I have spent the last three months searching for it at every bookstore I’ve been to. While on vacation up north in my hometown, I popped up to one of the bookstores and finally found it:
“Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants” by Robin Wall Kimmerer
I’ve already read the first couple of chapters and cannot put this book down. I forced myself to so I could finish my errands before heading home for the weekend.
I am absolutely loving this book as much as I wanted to. Highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in traditional, non-western spirituality and/or an interest in the natural world around you. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the land around me both wherever I am, and the land I call “home”. This book is helping to deepen that connection and I am thankful to say the least.
