Just seen someone call Maria selfish for leaving Tommy in TLOU2 when he needed her the most and I’m like???? Did you see him in the farmhouse, that’s a man who is obsessed with revenge and she’s probably given him ample chance to get over it but 18 months later he’s still obsessing over Abby. Maria (and Dina) were both more than justified in cutting ties with Tommy/Ellie for their own sakes. If Tommy and Ellie are too far gone and won’t allow themselves to be helped, their partners are more than justified in eventually making the decision to focus on their own mental health because I can guarantee the post-Seattle Tommy was not easy to live with.

Having said that, hope both couples make up so TLOU3 can just be the remaining members of the extended Miller family all living happily.

But seriously, why is it in any form of fiction or real-life, the woman is ‘selfish’ for actually putting her own well-being above someone who doesn’t want to be helped.

Just tells Finn he's going away for awhile. When he tells Grace that his family hates him, he isn't being dramatic or hyperbolic, he really believes they wouldn't help him. Also his father is back and Arthur went off with him, so...

I made a similar post just a couple of days ago talking about this, but i will like to say it again; I wish tommy fans would stop viewing him as a fictional character.

Tommy talks about his traumatic experience and how he is greatful to have a friend like dream that stood by his side throughout the whole thing, helping him and making sure him and his family were safe and some of his fans proceed to bypass everything he had said.

Instead of showing compassion, you choose to focus on how you can't stand the fact that he is still friends with dream. That shouldn't be the main focus!!! This man life was threatened! His families life was threatened! Why can't you see how horrific that is?!?! My goodness.

I feel so bad for tommy because half of his fanbase is filled with dim witted, toxic mindset people that only view him as a puppet that they want to control. A character that can write a bunch of stories for and if the narrative don't become true, they get upset. Ridiculous.

c!tommy: a box full of surprises! first he's insulting and screaming at me for being ““a terrible person”” and then clings to me hugging me shakily. then smiles and quietly laughs happily with me, and gets mad again. you can never get bored with him :)

protege c!tommy: pretty well-trained, but sometimes quite headstrong and takes too much initiative without permission. but of course, it's so much more fun this way 💚 when left alone for too long, he becomes so much more clingy than usual. it's so adorable how he'd always greet me like a puppy and rush to hug me. i should do it more often 💚💚💚 from time to time, he misbehaves, but he's very lucky i'm so amiable to help him become a better person.
