So it turns out I had Many Feelings about tomorobo’s comic (here’s the comic, go check it out, warning: emmet doesn’t have his arm, but he gets a cool mechanical one in the end) and that I wasn’t over it at all. I had Too many emotions actually, and wanted to write it out.

So like, I’m reading the comic and I’m just HIT with this idea, and here’s how it goes (note, these are all based on my mind going wild, taking what it was given and running a mile with it. It may not be what the artist intended for their comic to convey, but my mind imagines what it wants to imagine, so here’s my comic idea):

So we’re reading the comic right? There’s the grey and white color, that vague hazy snowy vibe. Then we see Emmet and we see Ingo and we see that they see each other.

And there's Emmet again and he's so happy! He found his brother! He's happy! Exhilarated! Relieved! Hopeful! Cautious, can this really be it, is it really him? JOY! It's him it's him IT'S HIM HE'S HERE! There's just.. SO! MUCH! emotions Emmet can barely process them! He can barely choke out a single question: “Ingo?” His speech bubble is soft and fragile and shaky. Emmet can barely hold back the tidal wave he’s feeling. And meanwhile he is just FILLED by colors, bright and beautiful and FULL and just, bubbling and burbling and JUST about to overwhelm Emmet, much like his emotions, it's a whole symbolism thing. He’s looked for his brother for so long, he can hardly believe he finally found him. There he is! Ingo is right here!

AND MEANWHILE, we pan back over to Ingo and he sees Emmet and he recognizes him. A man that looks like him but smiles more. But it’s not quite right, this image before him, he’s not smiling, and Ingo is just on the cusp of remembering, he’s so close, and and Emmet smiles. And suddenly Ingo remembers, and suddenly he has his own tidal wave of emotions to deal with. We see Ingo and he is still grey and dull and washed out and weary, but when he opens his mouth to answer Emmet’s quiet question with his own loud exuberant answer, his words! His SPEECH! His speech bubble is BRIGHT and VIBRANT and just OVERSPILLING with his own emotions! Elation at finding the person he's been missing! Happiness! Euphoria! Relief! JOY! ELATION! FAMILY! Home. Ingo has been searching for a verrry long time for a place where he belongs and here comes Emmet, a piece of his home, finally back with him. Ingo can't even TRY to hold the emotion back in his voice even if he wanted to! Emmet. That’s his brother- his brother! He has a brother!- that’s his name! Emmet. He can’t forget this name, not again, Emmet, Emmet, Emmet! He remembers, not everything, and things are different now, things won’t be as they used to and there’s so much that needs to be said, so much that needs to be done, but all that can be pushed aside for just a moment, just for a breath, in favor for Emmet, Emmet, EMMET, “EMMET!”

It’s two verrry different ways the submas twins deal with their overwhelming emotions, but like everything else they do, it compliments the other, and you can see it when we pan back out and the two are running towards each other, scrambling over snow and hills and banks and the colors reach out for each other more and more as they get closer and closer and CRASH! There’s a collision, they collide, and there’s an EXPLOSION of snow and color as they’re reunited! Their arms knock into each other and literally the only reason they don’t both fall down into the snow is because they both ran full tilt towards the other with the same force. They’re hugging and laughing and crying, squeezing each other with both the strength of their emotions and just pure desperation to not be separated again. And Emmet's colors bleed into Ingo, lighting the man’s eyes up, and Ingo's speech bleed into Emmet’s as they talk and babble and yell at each other, their emotions feeding and bouncing off one other and bleeding into each other, swirling, and there’s recursive yelling and joy and screaming and just being happy together. The final panel ends with a full color look for both of them as they separate to smile at each other and cry, foreheads touching.

I remember it. I remember it.#and apparently that's a thing I go fucking nuts over: speech bubbles as symbolism #as you can see by the *gestures to this fucking post*. yeah.#this ALL literally stemmed from tomorobo deciding to use just a loud wordless speech bubble for ingo #and my brain going OH REAL SHIT? and then ran off with this idea #do I tag tomorobo in here?? I don’t know what the ettiquette is for making posts based off on other people’s works #I usually just reblog and then continue my day

Please forgive the ridiculous mental image, but I cannot get this silly idea out of my head after reading your AU, so I thought I would share it: Emmet with a hollow prosthetic for keeping Joltik nice and cozy in. Pop the hand off to free them!

I've had this in my WIP for AGES and finally remembered to finish this! It's such a funny and cute idea thinking of a few of them liking being inside the new prosthetic arm then popping out for a surprise attack XD
