“That there’s something… some kind of device in our heads. That can make us…” Cody trails off again and he looks down, avoiding Obi-Wan’s gaze. “That it can make us kill Jedi,” Cody near-whispers, like it physically hurts him.

Obi-Wan feels a flurry of emotions that have been threatening to spread in his chest since Cody first looked at him with fear in his eyes.

Kill Jedi? The clones?

None of it makes sense and a strange sense of impending doom floods his Force presence like shadowy fingers wrapping around his throat. The sensation causes Obi-Wan to physically recoil and he has to take a step to steady himself. He hasn’t felt this since…

Naboo. Maul. The Sith Lord.

Before his brain can begin to make sense of his ruminations, a steadying hand grips his arm.

Obi-Wan follows it and blinks up at Cody, who is looking at him with concern.

“Are you ok?,” Cody asks him worriedly.

Obi-Wan takes a deep breath and clutches the wrist on his arm to ground himself to the present. He counts 1, 2, 3 seconds and feels the faint pulse in Cody’s wrist. His chest still aches, but his brain is clearer now.

Cody is still looking at him with his brows furrowed and Obi-Wan realizes he hasn’t said a word.

“Something is wrong,” Obi-Wan mutters and he kicks himself for how ominous he sounds because Cody looks scared.

honestly i feel like everything is still up for grabs you know? the yuki and honda thing you just said, they wont make the same mistake twice and renew checo before the european races, and i feel alonso will just stick with AM, sainz i dont know... he's the only one that puzzles me because on one hand why go to rbr if you want to be first driver if max is there? on the other never underestimate the hubris of f1 drivers especially since mercedes or not-audi dont look that good options...

i just need daniel to get it right and i feel he's still their top choice

For Sainz, I still feel he might go to Sauber/Audi even if it means settling for one bad year or two in 2025/26 - especially if they promise him the no.1 driver long term contract that he seems to be looking for.

For Checo, he sounded so calm and confident over the weekend when he said decision about his future would be made within the next couple of weeks that i unfortunately think discussions are already ongoing with Red Bull and he may be willing to accept a one year extension than being out of the sport.

Maybe Daniel showing something in China could potentially hold Red Bull from making a decision too soon. I think it's also important to consider that Red Bull also has all his data from his sim sessions from last year and the Silverstone test to base any of their decisions on ...

#i know any data from the test tomorrow would be pretty useless given it will be on unknown compounds #but if back at Silverstone they could determine that he would have been on the front row despite different compounds and track conditions #tomorrow's session could also give a lot of comparable data as to where he could have reasonably been in the race this past weekend #and just picking up on whoever before me made the observation that Liam is not the one to be doing the test #which truly -if they'd been thinking to replace Daniel with him they'd have found a way to put him in that car for the test #anon ask
