honestly something being aggressively wholesome (in the sense of having an explicit lack of anything that might be considered off putting or unmarketable) has gone from feeling kinda vapid or toothless to being some kind of a red flag

its like... a lot of the most violent, cruel and downright nasty people I've seen online have an outward persona of being cuddly and sweet and pure and wholesome, and then every word out of their mouth targeted at actual people is the most vitrolic, mean and hateful spite you could imagine.

so as a result, when i see a work that has that same kind of aggressively wholesome 'nope nothing bad or nasty or uncharitable here', the more it keeps raising alarm bells in my head. sometimes it makes me quicker to judge for potentially fascist ideology when i might not otherwise see signs of it.

its like... things that sanded off their rough edges did it so much that now those edges look smooth and plain as an eraser but much like the molecue is just increasingly tiny bits stacked in layers of micro architecture the edges are infinitely sharp and just poking them will make you lose your hand. they LOOK soft and without character but everything they're made of is like a biting chainsaw

and the connection I've heard is that its not a coincidence. a LOT of modern purity culture (speciifcally its most violent and horrible aspects) are directly drawn from the 'UWU IM A SMOL BEAN' mentality because they're functionally authoritarian; they demand simple and straight forward answers, a black and white mentality given credence by a trusted authority. So there's where that aesthetic comes in, combined with that same mentality.

Honestly that Dragon!Malleus was 💋

But if we talk other dragons: I just couldn't get the idea out of my head that Malleus could be a) like Toothless (because who doesn't love that dragon or b) like a Terrible Terror (also from How To Train Your Dragon) because I believe that fae age really slow so why wouldn't he be a tiny dragon.

Lexa gets super emotional when she's gifted with tiny baby booties and a onesie 🥹 She still can't believe she's going to be a mother and welcome her smol baby into the world

There is something to realizing how tiny this baby is going to be once it's out of her that Lexa didn't expect to hit so hard in her heart. They are gifted by an old maid who cleans the nightbloods quarters, always a rather quiet woman that once offered Lexa a knitted jacket when she was small and trembling her way through the tower behind her nightblood siblings, a jacket she hid and forgot about once she became commander.

Lexa is coming back from wishing the smallest nightbloods goodnight when she appears in front of her, curved and face wrinkled by the sun and time. Her smile is still as warm as it was nearly two and a half decades ago although toothless now. Lexa smiles at her back, oh how strange it is to just openly smile, and nods in her direction, ready to wish her goodnight and hurry up to her room where Clarke awaits her with promises of a lower back massage and cuddles.

Instead, the woman presents her with a wrapping and a smile, urging her to take it and open it. Lexa would never open a package like this without her guards being present, the memory of Costia's head rolling out of a box as soon as she opened it far too vivid in her mind. But she does not fear this woman, so she opens it, coming face to face with a small knitted onesie and matching small boots. Her hand immediately finds her stomach at the thought of the little baby inside of her wearing such a small thing, staring up at her with big eyes.

"For the little one. I wish you and wanheda many blessings with that child. I fear i won't be here to witness her grow, but what a privilege it was to watch you grow and thrive, little one."

Lexa says thank you, fighting the urge to hug the old woman who looks so frail. There is something akin to a bow from the woman, who puts her hand on Lexa's tummy without permission and somehow Lexa does not mind.

"She'll be strong and healthy, you worry for none."

And with a gentle grandmotherly tap to her cheek she disappears, leaving Lexa to stare at the small onesie, so tiny, so precious, much like the baby she grows inside. Lexa never sees her again, is told she died a few weeks before Elaina was born. Still, that onesie is the first one Lexa dresses little Elaina in.

Mt First Christmas with my Caregiver

So technically this isn't our first Christmas together. We've been friends for years so there have been many many holidays with one another. However this was one was the first one spent are a Caregiver/Little dynamic and it was quite the experience. There's a tradition in the household that on Christmas eve we were to open one present before Christmas. The people present were my CG, her roommate, her friend, her girlfriend, and her brother and his girlfriend.

The morning of Christmas Eve I was woken up by my CG telling me to change out of my morning diaper and my pj's. She had already decided my outfit would be my pink and white bigtots onesie along with my pink ODU diaper cover that she called my tutu. She's been dying to see me in it for ages but I was always to shy to wear them but this time was different since she was not asking. I went into the bathroom to shower and change into my chosen outfit for the day. Leaving the bathroom made me very blushy as my CG fawned over me calling me adorable then dragging me downstairs to her roommate to show me off. I used my stuffie to hide my embarrassment. My CG left me with her roommate since she had some shopping to do. I was downstairs with the roommate making bracelets for my Sibby with intense concentration stopping in between to be a brat. When my CG arrived she had her girlfriend with her taking in groceries as well as starbucks and a multitude of japanese juice boxes from the Asian food market to serve as mixers for the Soju (Japanese Beer for those of you who aren't yet enlightened to the delicious beverage). I greeted her gf, now being used to her seeing me little since our previous interactions. Gf started mixing the drinks for us while roommate was making dinner with CG. Alcohol has an interesting effect one me. The more I drink the more I regress in to a smaller headspace. My words were becoming more of babble talk tho I could still form words. Later on in the night My cg's friend arrived and eventually her brother and his gf. I was a bit shy about his gf seeing me so smol. She's seen me in little clothes occasionally but never this smol. Aside from that it was a lot of fun until later on in the night when fireworks went off which triggered me really bad. It did not help that I had alcohol in my system so my panic attacks were really bad. I was full blown crying, chocking on my tears. I held onto my cg's leg for comfort and her friend's and her GF were there to console me as well. With the turn of events it was decided I would be sent to bed early. I was walked upstairs by the GF and she tucked me in putting earphones in my ear while also having some anime play in the background. She laid there with my stroking my hair soothing me until finally I was able to fall asleep.

This brings us to Christmas day, everyone was up before me apparently. I had no idea what time it was but I was woken up by the GF to come downstairs and eat. I was steal half asleep if not fully asleep. I remember being walked downstairs, my eyes still shut. she sat me down at the table and I was brought coffee to help wake me up. Eventually I was able to fully come to after a few sips. After breakfast we all headed to the living room to open presents. We all had our names called as individually to open our presents. One by one everyone opened their gifts until eventually it was my turn and it would be an understatement to say I was happy, I was overjoyed. I was given a multitude of stuffies including a light furry and a toothless to add to my collection. I was also given a cute unicorn footie pajamas, some bath toys, story books, and a rattle toy which had to have been my favorite! All this to say it was definitively one of the most memorable Christmas celebrations to date.

Forge-scarred hands tightened by degrees, squeezing thoughtfully into monstrous fists.  Farkas had burned fiercely in his youth, then governed by instinct, fuelled by testosterone and the lycanthropy that ran thick in his blood.  How quick he had been to rise then, to retaliate, to speak with violence when words failed him.  As they still so often did.  As they did now.  Kodlak had been the one to temper his hair-trigger temperament, to see to it that his fire burned low.  Revenge would not raise the dead, and any hint of it would surely spoil in the harbinger’s bloating, purifying gut.  Farkas held steady, as he had learned. He filled the bellows of his lungs and swallowed the ashes of old furies.

Priscilla stood over him, her silhouette haloed by candlelight.  Every inch a priestess, an image of comfort. With aching tenderness, she touched his dark hair, pushing loose strands away from his grim, paint-smeared features.  Beneath such gentle ministrations, Farkas became aware of his own exhaustion, of the aches and pains that made their home in his broad body.  If not for the unspeakably soft palms that came to rest upon his cheeks, he might have buried his face against the folds of her holy gown. As if that would banish the sense of shame that clawed miserably along his spine.  It was a powerlessness that left him feeling almost toothless, as though his fangs had been rasped and pulled, his maw made velvet soft and crater-marked.

YOU'RE the one that decided to lay down on my chest!" - "you little gremlin, what are you biting me for?! i've done nothing to you!" - "why are you like this? what d'you have to be mad about? am i not paying enough attention to you, somehow?" - “oh my god, just let me put my drink down, and i’ll pick you up, alright?!” - “...do you HAVE to pounce on my stomach full force when you jump onto me? is that REALLY necessary? really?” - “oh my god, yes, hi, i’ll get you your snacks in a minute!”
