How to Choose the Right Laptop for you?
Tumblr media
Buying a laptop takes some research. Before you know it, you will be inundated with all kinds of laptops, and making a choice is difficult. Buying a laptop is an investment that should be worth it. A good laptop will give you years of pleasure! Do you want to buy your first Laptop, or are you ready for a new one? We are happy to help you choose a nice laptop.
How do you choose the right new Laptop?
Buying a new laptop seems like it takes a lot of work. Still, the choice is pretty good when you know what you will use the Laptop for. For example, a passionate gamer has very different requirements for a laptop than a diligent student. See below which Laptop is best for your work.
What is a good laptop for home or business use?
You can use a new laptop in your spare time or tick off to-dos. A private or business laptop should be manageable but not too small. It is best to choose a 15 to 17-inch computer from Acer or HP for a good basic laptop.
Small school laptops for students
The portability of a laptop is important when it is used for studying. Carrying a laptop from lecture hall to lecture hall is no fun, so it must be as light as a feather. The Laptop must also be able to take a beating because it can sometimes be busy in the stairwell or the canteen. Therefore, opting for a sturdy yet lightweight Lenovo best laptop 2023.
Play games with a gaming laptop
When playing games, you should opt for the powerhouses of laptops. Gaming uses very heavy programs. You can play endless games with an Asus laptop. Then choose the models ASUS TUF or the Pro series. MSI laptops are also a very good choice. This popular game brand is best rated by gamers worldwide.
Want to compare more computers?
You may still need help to make a choice. Would you like to compare laptops even more extensively before taking the plunge? Then use our buying guide and discover which model suits you.
What are good laptops for a reasonable price?
Cheap laptops are less expensive for a reason. The price difference is often reflected in a quality difference. For an entry-level model suitable for basic use, such as emailing and surfing the internet, you can opt for a cheap laptop under $600. However, do you want a more powerful model with which you can watch razor-sharp movies, play games, or edit photos? Then the price will be higher.
What does a used laptop cost?
You can also opt for an almost new laptop. These laptops have been returned or exchanged by customers and then carefully checked by us. These laptops are in excellent condition, but you pay less than the new price. All these laptops also come with a 2-year warranty.

🚀💻 The Ultimate Guide to Laptops for Data Science: Finding Your Perfect Machine 💻🚀
Are you diving into the exciting world of data science? Whether you're crunching numbers, running complex algorithms, or visualizing data, having the right laptop is crucial for your success. Here's your ultimate guide to finding the perfect machine for your data science journey:
Powerful Processor: Look for laptops equipped with Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processors. These offer the horsepower needed for running resource-intensive data analysis tasks with ease.
Ample RAM: Data science workloads can be memory-intensive. Aim for at least 16GB of RAM to ensure smooth multitasking and handling of large datasets.
High-Performance Graphics: While not essential for all data science tasks, a dedicated GPU can significantly accelerate certain computations, especially those involving deep learning and neural networks.
Storage Space: Opt for SSD storage for faster data access and program loading times. Aim for at least 512GB to accommodate your datasets, software tools, and projects.
Portability: Data scientists are often on the move, so consider a lightweight and compact laptop that doesn't compromise on performance. Look for models with a durable build and long battery life for extended work sessions.
Quality Display: A high-resolution display with accurate color reproduction is essential for data visualization and analysis. Consider laptops with IPS panels for wide viewing angles and vibrant colors.
Connectivity Options: Ensure your laptop has ample ports for connecting external devices like monitors, keyboards, and data storage drives. Thunderbolt 3 ports are a bonus for high-speed data transfer.
Comfortable Keyboard and Trackpad: Since you'll be spending long hours typing and navigating, a comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad are must-haves for a pleasant user experience.
Reliable Cooling System: Data science workloads can push your laptop's hardware to the limit, so choose a model with an effective cooling system to prevent overheating and maintain optimal performance.
Budget Considerations: While top-of-the-line specs are desirable, consider your budget constraints and prioritize components based on your specific data science needs.
Remember, the perfect laptop for data science is the one that best fits your workflow and preferences. Consider these factors carefully to make an informed decision and embark on your data science journey with confidence! 🌟

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you for the tags @theresthesnitch & @annabtg. I'm finally sitting at my laptop so I can do this (and have given up with the formatting being all over the shop).
How many works do you have on AO3? 72 total, but 31 are currently hidden away in a private collection and can't be seen.
2. What's your total A03 words count?
According to the stats page 308,146 3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just HP 4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? A.) Brown Boots & Breakfast Bagels Rated M, jily AU. Complete Multichapter. Lily’s love life was a tragedy of epic proportions and she had no brilliant strategy. But a chance encounter ends in a one night stand that blows her mind and leaves her wanting more. There’s just one problem… she doesn’t even know his name.
B.) One More Sleep (currently hidden) Rated G, Sirius raising harry oneshot. Three year old Harry Potter is very eager to stay awake and catch Santa Claus delivering him presents.
C.) Call Me By Name Rated E, Jily AU. WIP Multichapter. After a not-so-great breakup with a not-so-great boyfriend, Lily comes to the conclusion that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. Whether mechanically, hydraulically, or auditorily? She WILL find the key to that currently unreachable pleasure.
D.) Evans Guide To Quidditch (and seducing James Potter) Rated M, Hogwarts Jily, oneshot. It had all started out innocently enough, a small wager between housemates on the outcome of the Arrows Vs Catapults game over the weekend. Lily hadn't intended to let slip she knew more about quidditch than she was letting on. Or to set up a fantasy quidditch league with James, but well... what's the harm?
E.) Stripped Back To Basics Rated M, Jily AU, oneshot collab with @athenasparrow In which Petunia probably regrets telling Lily to "put herself out there." Or: A Jily "Naked Attraction" AU (YES NAKED ATTRACTION IS A REAL SHOW!!!)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I used to respond to some comments, but these days I try to respond to everyone who comments even if it's just an emoji as a like "hi yes thank you for your comment I see you I just don't know what to say!"
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angtiest ending? I don't know if I've ever written an angst ending... nothing springs to mind anyway. 7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I think most of my fics end up with happy endings or at the very least open hopeful endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I wouldn't call it hate... but I did once get a couple of people debating in my comment section that Lily couldn't be friends with Sirius before dating James because it would be "taking away from jily's relationship"
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind? I don't really understand the second half of the question, but yes I do write smut.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Nope
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I don't know if stolen is the right term, but there was a period years ago where some on my one-shots kept being posted on Instagram. Sometimes with credit, others not. 12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not that I'm aware of.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Yes! and I would love to do it again. I did Stripped Back to Basics with @athenasparrow and june jilychallenge Ice Breaker with @jamesunderwater
14. What's your all-time favourite ship? This will surprise no one, jily. 15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Previously I would have said the fic I started over a decade ago... but I am actively trying to finish it and it is one of my publishing WIPs (we're gonna ignore the fact it's in desperate need of an update). It is currently publishing under a new name tho: Wake Me Up (When September Ends)
16. What are your writing strengths? I manage to sprinkle a little humour into most of my fics.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Sticking to an update schedule... even though I always start with the best of intentions.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I don't think I've ever done it but I can barely English to be fair. I don't mind it in other peoples fics.
19. First fandom you wrote for? HP
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? I answered this as Stripped Back To Basics yesterday... I'm struggling to like my writing at the moment. But I enjoyed this first ever collaborative project and now Athena is a much beloved friend. tagging (and apologising if you've already been tagged): @merlins-sequined-hotpants, @uncertainwallflower, @practicecourts, @abihastastybeans

thank you for tagging me doctor @greyeyedmonster-18 and @magswrite xoxoxoxo love to you both <3
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
ten! but another one is coming sooooon! waiting for the fest to reveal it :)
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
99,772
3. what fandoms do you write for?
HP and a whole host of ships. but i made a certain pact for 2024 that will change things up a lil......
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos
Fake It Til You Make It!
not the kind of weather (to be dancing in your sweater)
barely on my mind
book smart
say red
actually so crazy that book smart is #4? i had no idea that many people read reg/remus......
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
yeah i do! i get a reasonable number of comments, so it's easy to do and i like to thank people for engaging with my work. but i'm never bothered if an author doesn't respond. not everyone likes that back and forth!
6. what is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i guess this hell has the angstiest ending? not to spoil, bc i haven't posted the whole thing. but none of my fics are angsty, really!
7. what is a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
they're all happy endings. i'm an HEA bitch when it comes to ship fic.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
literally not even once lmfao it’s hard to be this cool and talented and popular and funny 🤷🏻‍♀️
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
hell yeah. i started writing it to get more comfortable with sex, and i ended up finding it SO fun. i like that it's basically an action scene? and i like figuring out how certain scenes would theoretically go. idk what kind it is though! y'all tell me ;)
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?
i don't, and i wouldn't. i don't like them.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
nope! and really, you'd have to copy SO directly to steal a fic. like be so fucking serious...it's fanfic...it's derivative by definition...so as long as no one is copy-pasting my shit, 'steal' what you want. we're building this house together!
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yep, i think fake it is translated to russian?
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
i haven't but i dream of co-writing with the squad @colgatebluemintygel @pancakehouse on a christmas fic......maybe they could convince me to not be a grinch!
14. what's your all time favourite ship?
draco and harry. those are my BABIES!
15. what's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
i don't do WIPs! if it's on my AO3, there's a complete fic sitting on my laptop. which means that yes this hell is behind on updates ONLY because i'm lazy about posting.............oops
16. what are your writing strengths?
the sentence! i loveeee the sentence.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
also the sentence lmfao i get too bogged down in perfection and will obsess over one line instead of moving the fuck on
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
stay away from google translate and get a native (or fluent, i guess) speaker to help you! i've seen some messy french out there lmfao
19. first fandom you wrote for?
i wrote part of an attack on titan fic a few years ago and never posted it! so if that counts, then aot. if we're only counting fics i've posted, then fake it was first!
20. favourite fic you've written?
answered this earlier today for another game but it's a toss-up between fake it and wolf moon <3
ok ummmmm lemme tag my buddies @pancakehouse @colgatebluemintygel @mblematic

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by my beloved 🌶️🧠^2 @xenokattz
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
16 😁😁
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
118, 025
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is my main obsession, but I do have a Harry Potter fic in the works that desperately needs an update. I've also been thinking about dipping into the Scandal fandom 🫣
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Primetime - Attoye PWP
Bound in Pleasure - Attoye PWP
An Angel, Drowned (Excerpt) - Namor/Okoye/Attuma PWP (whole fic is in progress)
Stars Within - Attoye (quite possibly the sweetest thing i've ever written in my existence)
Stars Aglow - Attoye (the second sweetest thing i've ever written in my existence
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do indeed! At least I do my best. I enjoy getting feedback and finding out how readers are feeling about the story and the characters. It's really the best part of sharing my writing with y'all 🥰
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Nothing... yet... 😬 I don't really have a plan for angsty endings, I angst to for the happy stuff 😁
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The happiest I would say is either Stars Within or Stars Aglow (the actual ending is coming istg)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
My HP fic caught some hate because some people don't enjoy Black Hermione and that is what it is... I don't really care. The BPWF fandom has been nothing but welcoming and they have my entire heart 🤗
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
LMFAO yes 😂🤣🤣 Mind you, I just started in March and the majority of my fics are rated E 💀 but I write all kinds of smut and will be writing a lot more in the future 😁
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
There is a Narnia/Harry Potter fic in my personal drafts because I adore both fandoms. I might find the courage to post it one day 💀
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I certainly hope not
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nopenopenope... but many requests
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
LOL no... I don't share well but I'm always happy to plot with my besties 😜
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I feel like this answer is pretty obvious but um Attoye (who's surprised 🤣)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sadly... Sunbound. It's entirely possible that I'll come back to it, but the vibe keeps drifting and I've got other things to work on 😅😅
16. What are your writing strengths?
World-building for sure... it's my favorite part. I've also been told I'm good with characterization(?) but idk... I just write what feels right.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
It takes me a ridiculously long time to write scenes my brain doesn't looooove. I also can't write things out of order, which is what takes updates so long 💀
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I like to do it for brief phrases, a few sentences, and terms of endearment, but full conversations just get a note that they're happening in a different language. I like to put English translations in brackets for the differing languages I use, and I try my best to find the most accurate translations, but I don't speak Yucatec Maya or Xhosa 😂
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Publicly: Harry Potter
In the secret file on my laptop? Game of Thrones 😬
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
It's not done yet, but Like Real People Do is going to end up being one of the best things I ever write. At least until that angsty crazy thing I'm planning comes out. 😁

Chapter One "Press Start" (My Fortress Home | Tf2 x Reader)
A/n: For @niccino-apino. Sorry it took so long to get this done! Reader is gender neutral by the way, using they/them pronouns.
The light from my laptop illuminated my room. The Team Fortress 2 pop funkos lined the shelves. A 3D printed mini-sentry was on top of stacked books. Printed physical copies of the comics were laid out on the desk. I had all the posters of each mercenary taped to my wall. I owned the plushies, including the RED and BLU spy crabs. There were several pins, nine to be exact, spread across my desk. Each had the mercenary class icons.
I was a huge Team Fortress 2 fan and no one could change that.
It was near midnight, there was nothing wrong with that. I could catch up on my sleep later. I waited for the big update for Team Fortress 2. My uncle, U/n, who was one of the Team Fortress 2 developers, actually listened to the community and decided to make every update come true. Gabe Newell allowed this major update to happen. They even released the seventh comic!
It would include the long awaited Heavy update, new maps, new items, a new short film, and a new class. The legendary, mythical tenth class would be a customizable character for the player. You could design their costume, name, weapons, everything! And I would be the first person to try it out. I’d be the (class name). I already had sketches of my character’s design. My uncle granted me super, special VIP access to the update. It would only happen at midnight. The next day, anyone else could play.
I had already logged into my Steam account and accessed TF2. I waited and waited. I scrolled through my cosmetic items. I nearly owned them all! From hats to Halloween gear. My phone lit up, notifying me. Then it began to ring. The ringtone was Medic’s theme. The notification sound effect was Scout’s “Bonk” catchphrase. The alarm was the main theme.
“Hello?” I asked, picking up my phone.
“Y/n, sweetie!” my uncle exclaimed. “It’s me, how are you?” I practically felt him smiling. He was my favorite uncle.
Fortunately for me, he was my only uncle.
“I’m fine, just waiting for the update,” I replied. My screen crashed. I tried to reload it but it wasn’t working. It turned black. “Oh, something’s wrong with my laptop.”
“Uh, Y/n, about the update,” U/n said.
“Hold on,” I said. I hit the screen and it turned back on, playing the Valve intro. The update! It  was already happening! “My screen’s back on,” I said. “So, what’s wrong with it?”
“There’s some bugs that need to be fixed and-.”
The line went dead.
“Uh, uncle?” I asked. As the Valve intro finished playing, the screen glitched again. There was an option. “PRESS START.” It said. I simply hit the enter button. Then one by one, the icons of the mercenaries appeared.
Scout, Soldier, Pyro.
Engineer, Heavy, Demo.
Medic, Sniper, Spy.
A last icon appeared. One that was different from the others. It was the game’s logo and it seemed to grow.
"WELCOME TO TEUFORT."
I blacked out.
My limbs ached and were sore. My head was throbbing. I couldn’t see. It felt as if I was falling. Falling down an endless abyss. Wind blew through my hair. It didn’t seem to end. Then the pain arrived. I screamed as my arm cracked. I could hear it. It sounded like when the bones break in TF2. That sound of chips being crushed up in a bag when you lose HP.
“Mission starts in sixty seconds.” I opened my eyes. The bright sun was blinding. I groaned, covering my eyes and got up. I was standing on gravel because it crunched under my feet. I looked up.
“Woah!” I exclaimed. The two bases of TF2’s map, 2Fort, stood before me. I started laughing. “This is unbelievable!” I said. This had to be a dream! There was no way this could be real. I started to look around. The bridge, the gate, the bases! It all felt real! Even the Administrator’s voice was legit! It sounded so real! I was animated in SFM style. My clothes, skin, and hair shined. I wore a one piece jumpsuit similar to the one Black Widow wore in Avengers. Only, it glitched back and forth from red and blue. I had a utility belt around my hips, a satchel backpack on my back, and fingerless gloves. The TF2 logo was on my arm.
“Mission starts in ten seconds,” the administrator said. I giggled. Lucid dreaming hypnosis really works if you listen to it long enough. I don’t remember using the shifting abilities people on the Internet talked about, which seemed unbelievable, but this was a story worth putting on. “Five, four, three, two one, fight!” The alarm sounded off and the gunshots went off.
The only problem was that both teams were headed right for me. Bullets skimmed past my arms. I started to lose HP.
As if it was muscle memory, I pulled out a gun from my pack and started shooting. The RED Scout dodged and hit me with his metal bat. It was painful! I fell back and landed on my shoulder, possibly breaking it. The scout towered over me.
“Are you new?” he asked.
“Yeah, I think so,” I weakly answered.
“Cool,” he said. He held his hand out and pulled me to my feet.
“Scout! Stop messing around and come help us!” Engineer called out.
“Alright, alright! I’ll be there!” he replied. “But first, meet uh… What’d you say your name was?” he asked.
“Uh, Y/n,” I replied.
“Sorry, can’t use that,” he said. “I shoulda asked for your class name.”
“Oh, it’s (Class name),” I said. “Is that good?” He nodded.
“It’ll work,” he replied. “Hey Engy! Come meet (Class name)!” Before he could come over, a rocket landed in front of us, blowing Scout and I into the water. I was extremely low on HP. I was near death. I swam towards the sewer. I crawled halfway before giving up. Pyro ran past me, holding his flare gun when he stopped and looked down at me.
“Hey,” I said, panting. “Is this real life or am I dreaming?” I asked.
“Mmmmph,” he replied, shrugging. I sighed, resting on my back. I floated in the water. “Mmmph mmph?” I wiped water off my face.
“What?” I asked. He grabbed me by my feet and dragged me to the nearest medikit. I collected it and my HP was restored. “Thanks,” I said, standing up.
“Mmph,” Pyro replied, running off. I looked down at the hall/sewer before me. I walked up the stairs and hid behind the crates. My suit stopped changing colors and settled on red. The Red Heavy just entered with a disguised Blu Spy following behind him. There was a backstab noise and Heavy screamed in pain. I looked up from my hiding place. He was dead.
And I was next.
I felt the butterfly knife pierce my back and I collapsed. I was dying, watching the Spy pull out his weapon.
The next thing I knew I was dead.
I woke up, gasping for air. I was on the floor back in my room. My laptop was off. My uncle busted down, not literally, the door.
“Y/n!” he exclaimed. “What happened? You weren’t answering my calls!” I rubbed my head.
“I don’t know what happened,” I replied. “I must’ve passed out from exhaustion.” He sighed.
“Well, let’s get you to bed,” he said. I looked up at my laptop.
It flickered back on for a moment with words that read “(Class Name) has joined the game.”

trying to think of like... how would I describe each laptop manufacturer on pure vibes. off the top of my head...
asus: we have more marketing and r&d budget then we can possibly spend on normal things. look, this one is coated in LEDs! this one has the keyboard in the wrong place! this one splits open! half of their premium product launches generate more youtube views than actual sales because by the time you consider buying one they're discontinued. high-end products can be quite good; midrange products are often a couple bucks too expensive because the brand name buys you some clout. spends a lot of cash to get floorspace at best buy. taiwan.
lenovo: a relative newcomer to the western market (they bought IBM's thinkpad division back in the day), used to be the kings of cost cutting on basically every part they could think of. if they've learned what parts are actually worth cutting costs on (and benefitted from the fact that these days 85% of the parts that exist are Actually Decent) there might be something there. primarily does direct online sales. mainland china.
msi: kind of hit on an identity when they made the first thin and light gaming laptop/"jack of all trades, master of none" device that was actually good, and continue to have a strong presence in that market. devices tend to be a bit on the hollow/flexible-feeling side, not necessarily in a bad way, but just in contrast to "ough that's solid but heavy." under-reviewed, imho. taiwan.
gigabyte: hey, we exist too! some cool stuff at the high end; primary drawback in the west is a reputation for spotty support if you don't speak mandarin since they just do less sales volume than the other Asian companies. mainland china
acer: budget, budget, budget. takes up a truly impressive amount of the low to midrange market with usable but unspectacular devices. once in a while they'll put out a premium-priced device and get confused reviews, like, "guys, this is just a budget laptop with a higher price tag???" known for pure gaming laptops with poor battery life, displays, keyboards, and trackpads but very competitive performance, and general use laptops that are very competent for the price tag if you can find the model that hit the right balance on all of the parts. taiwan.
lg: primarily known for the lg gram line of premium, very lightweight general-use laptops, which are pretty good. do they make anything else? korea.
samsung: yeah we make everything; sure, let's make laptops. very low volume kind of like lg, but a marketing behemoth like asus. korea.
framework: finally, a repairability-focused laptop that's actually good. only has one device (13" general-use) and it's a bit overpriced iirc, and you have some "we're a startup" stuff to deal with, but it's rare that you can take a moral stance and actually get a good product out of it. united states.
dell: kind of the flagship american laptop brand. does a bit of everything. competes with asus on the "solidly built, premium-priced, unnecessarily flashy gaming" front via alienware, with acer on the "budget-priced, competent enough gaming" front via inspiron, and with apple on the "best possible jack of all trades" front via xps. notably, has a huge refurbished store (dell outlet) with a ton of selection that's unmatched by any of the others. united states.
hp: guys we're just like dell! please believe us. used to be the other flagship american laptop brand for years and then idk they ran out of money or something and dropped most of their product lines. kind of like american acer now, I guess? united states.
apple: operating system differences aside, has a consistent standard of build quality, minimum part quality, relative reliability, and "having a working trackpad" that makes every windows laptop look like some sort of children's toy. (I am not joking: the 2008 macbook pro has a trackpad that has not been matched by a windows pc in 15 years. it is legitimately puzzling.) 2016-2019 missteps aside, 80% of the things one could list about a laptop have been multiple years ahead of the competition on the mac essentially forever. on the other hand, they're a gazillion dollars, you can't game on them basically at all, you're stuck with macos, etc etc. (the m1 macbook air in particular is so good that none of that even really matters, though. fingers crossed for the 15" m2 air to continue the trend and not be $1800.) united states.
microsoft: "look, we can match apple's build and display quality!" an extreme newcomer, specifically designed to push the windows platform in the fronts where apple traditionally ate their lunch. they absolutely have done that, and are years ahead of almost anyone else on those fronts. too bad they're constantly a year behind schedule with their hardware and only do premium pricing, had some reliability issues, and suffer from a "we glued the whole thing together and if it breaks it's unfixable" problem that they're only very recently engineering their way out of. still, managed to put a seriously compelling product (surface laptop) in the premium general-use device category until the m1 air came out. united states.
razer: "look, we can match apple's build quality in a gaming laptop!" a relative newcomer that made an incredible, unprecedented jump from a gaming mouse company to a moderate-volume premium pc manufacturer somehow. only sells to the ultra-premium gaming market (weird ultrabooks aside), but does a good job of it. united states.
clevo: the white-label manufacturer behind many smaller brands like ibuypower, maingear; often does comically huge desktop replacement style devices. taiwan.
origin/corsair: who knows, but knowing corsair (asus on bad steroids), it will be about 85% too expensive to be more than a curiosity. united states.
huawei, xiaomei: up-and-coming chinese phone manufacturers joining the laptop market a la samsung. hard to find or get service for in the west. notable because they had access to the high-end display panels that before recently only apple and microsoft used, and sold devices with them at much lower prices. mainland china.
