We're just gonna act like you sent this to me recently and not 6 months ago.

"You can't protect everyone." / "I have to try".

Toph can feel how tired he is. He was practically trembling as he walks towards her and she knows that Aang is close to collapsing.

For more than 24 hours, he has been flying through the torched earth that Ozai had left in his wake, hoping to find survivors, to bring them back to Katara or another healer and try to save them.

"Aang, you have to stop, you have to rest," Toph puts her hand on his shoulder to try and steady him.

"No. No, there are still people down there that need help. I have to-" his legs give out from underneath him and Toph just barely manages to catch him in her arms. Slowly, she lowers him to a sitting position. Taking his face in her hands, she forces him to look at her.

"You have to stop, you're going to hurt yourself. You can't save everyone."

Aang places a hand on Toph's shoulder and gently pushes her back. On shaky legs, he stands up and snaps open his glider, "I have to try. I just have to." The bags under his eyes seem to darken with his words but he takes a step towards the ledge and off towards the destruction zone.

Ok can we talk about how toph held up a huge ass building? I feel like this is never addressed.

The Gaang is in the sand, which is already hard for Toph to see/feel, and then she holds up this giant library?? While trying to protect Appa.

Also, can we talk about how its not one mass of rock-it's made of bricks, and being held together by gravity. She really said "Every one of you blocks, pillars, tiles, boards, and the rest of you are going to stay in your exact spots and not sink to the spirit world BECAUSE I SAID SO!" while she was fighting super mystical spirit magic. While fighting and actual spirits power. For who knows how long, because Sokka and Aang had time to check every date till Sozins comet would hit at least a few months away.

Can we also talk about how Toph was so upset and ashamed about loosing Appa due to sand bending skill that she practiced hard to perfect it.

Imo, atla has a bittersweet ending

Aang is sitting alone and wearing the air nomads clothes, his culture clothes, a necklace similar to GYATSO's necklace. I can't even imagine the emptiness and sadness he was feeling here

There are no airbenders in the crowd

All nation gathered..... except the air nomads.

No one else in the crowd wearing orange or yellow.

Aang won the war, but his people are still gone.

Yes, he has the Gaang, he has Katara, he has Momo and Appa. But he's still the last airbender.

This is so heartbreaking.

Here is my list of headcanon Taang:

Aang MADNESS LOVES stroking and combing Toph's hair. Even though she doesn't like having her hair played with, she can always give a little to Aang. Toph says not to tell anyone, but she can't fall asleep anymore except while Aang is stroking her hair.

Horny headcanon: Even when Toph has the dominant and strong personality, and Aang is more passive and delicate, in bed the roles are reversed. Toph loves to play games to bring out Aang's tough side. (still, he makes sure to always make love to her)

I like to think that, over the years, Toph changed her usual hairstyle to a low ponytail because it's so much easier for her to do.

Toph is a total TSUNDERE, and Aang likes to push his luck.

Being old and grungy, they love to do bending matches. It is their love language.

Aang and Toph as parents are THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO THE WORLD.

No one except Aang knows that Toph's feet are quite a sensitive erogenous zone.

They fucked like rabbits (most of the time it was Toph who initiated). At least until they had kids and they had to be more cautious (although Toph never really cared if someone found out if they had sex or not)

Toph touching each part of Aang's body to memorize it. Finding out that he has tattoos was quite a spectacle.
