Penelope thinks the feud started when he informed Portia very clearly that whether she understands it or not, he's marrying her daughter, die mad at about it (and how she's wrong about Penelope and how wonderful he finds her) but Portia's *been* had beef with this boy since he ruined her 'get Marina married off' plans in season 1. Colin and Portia see one another in a hallway and it's on SIGHT

Hades shook his head back to attention. He wasn't going to admit that he had really stopped listening to Minthe and was just watching her bright silver eyes and soft lips as she talked, but her last comment caught his attention.

"You said her hair was blue?" he asked. If this was Ariadne, he was going to join that cycle Amaurot was so divorced from.

Minthe tilted her head. "Yes? It really doesn't matter though - I'm switching to the section taught by Mitron rather than Halmarut."

"Ah. Why not Lahabrea? You said he had interest in how focused you can get with your creation magic."

She wrinkled her nose. "No thank you. I don't actually know if I want to go into creation magicks yet. The way he talked about it, he was acting as if I was destined to use it to further the Purpose of the Star..."

"Well, if you're not going into song..." Hades said wistfully.

"Good grief, not you too..."

He took her hand. "What ever you do Minthe, I am sure you will excel at it."

Minthe sighed, and Hades felt his heart melt a little at the soft sound. He kissed her fingers in an apology he would never say aloud.

i dont think i did any direct scenes from it, but all of hades interactions with carbuncles were largely inspired by this fic bc i love the au, its so much fun! (i would say dont worry the carby isnt biting him hard but also it would be hilarious if the carby did get a good chomp in. sorry hades, serves you right)

Persephone: Hades' Torment is a quick read and totally worth it (18+, contains sex and nudity)

it touches on a few myths and subverts some expectations, and plays around with some of the elements of the classic story. It mainly revolves around Persephone and Hades, how they meet and fall in love, and how Persephone ends up in the Underworld

It is a very short comic, which I think is honestly fair. The story of Hades and Persephone meeting, including when revolving around Persephone and not Demeter, does not necessarily have to be very long?

However, it means we do not get a huge amount of depth- still, the characters have distinct personalities and what characterization is present is utterly delightful

As well, the ending feels a bit random (but people familiar with minthe might hopefully be as delighted as I was to see the spin the author took on her. No further spoilers in this post though :P)

Laslty, Demeter is shown to be keeping Persephone away from Olympus and can be understood as a bit controlling, but it's not focused on or emphasized the way it is in some other retellings- she's really not hugely involved at all, so if you're looking for a Hymn to Demeter retelling that is centering Demeter, this isn't the place.

Overall, if the romance between Hades and Persephone intrigues you (like it always has me) I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
