24 gay theater kids came together and found a home

They are a big group of people that range from teenagers to adults and it’s very nice to see their dynamics as they all go through theater with different eyes, between those who have a long life in front of them and are excited to do something new, and those others who feel like they are too old for this but still do it regardless, and like the way friendships are born between those people who seem so different yet have some similarities some past memories they relate to, or also see the adults trying to be there for the younger members it’s very cute I swear. You see even if I ramble here it’s hard to explain because I would explain 6 whole years of lore but yeah overall is just a situation of, people who seem different but find similarities between one another and do their best to help who struggles and are all bond by one single aim which is bloom on stage!

These are 25 individuals that all come from completely different backgrounds, situations, and experiences that all happened to come together by chance, and formed a tight bond and family that cannot be replicated. Sakuya Sakuma, a young orphan boy who found refuge from his troubling homelife through theatre, found himself a home within this small run down theatre company, and found a family through the people in it. This isn’t a Headcanon, A3! Is a found family story. Sakuya views everyone there as a member of his family, and it’s not just him. Misumi Ikaruga, a man kicked out of his home for being “different” (cough Autistic cough), finally found a family that accepts and loves him unconditionally. Taichi Nanao had been taught that you need to always be fighting your way to the top, and whoever gets hurt along the way is nothing but a necessary casualty. So being able to find a place that is willing to work and rise with him, and care for him along the way… and the theres Azuma, a man so heavily affected by the trauma he experienced as a child, and yet has pushed it so far down to the point you wouldn’t even know it by looking at him. But here, this god who knows how old man finally found it, that home he has been searching for, and a place where he can finally break down his walls. Sure, one could argue a3! Is 4 different found families, but you would be wrong. Yes, each troupe is important, however would you then deny the importance of cross troupe relationships? The four leaders, who all encourage one another to do better, Tsuzuru and Kazunari, who allow one another to finally be honest about their feelings, Azami and Kumon who are the definition of “boys being boys”, Sakyo and Azuma, two adults who seem well past the years of found family, who found solace in one another. A3! Is about people of all ages coming together to be a family. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you come from. You could be just a random college kid off the road, or a former international spy, that doesn’t matter. Mankai has a spot for you, where you will be loved, accepted, and cherished.

March 22nd, 2023: Double congratulations are in order for two new maiko! Toshikō (とし倖) of Komaya (駒屋) in Miyagawa Cho and Masane (満彩音) of Man (まん) in Gion Higashi are celebrating their misedashi! Toshikō is the imōto of Toshimana (とし真菜), also of Komaya, while Masane is debuting without an onesan. Although newly debuted, Toshikō will be performing in the upcoming Kyō Odori that runs from April 1st to 9th ^^ おめでとうさんどすとし倖ちゃんと満彩音ちゃん ^o^! The spotless giraffe, born at a Tennessee zoo, is the first one seen in more than 50 years.

Just a few weeks old and still without a name, a newborn giraffe at a zoo in northeastern Tennessee could rightly be nicknamed “spotless.”

The female giraffe born without its characteristic spots instead boasts a solid brown coat, a phenomenon that hasn’t been observed in any giraffe for more than 50 years.

She was born last month at Brights Zoo, a family-owned facility in Limestone, Tennessee.

A spotless giraffe was last reported at a Tokyo zoo in 1972.

“The spotless giraffe calf is certainly an interesting case and that type of coloring has never been seen in the wild," says Sara Ferguson, a wildlife veterinarian and conservation health coordinator at the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

The animal’s rare coloring is likely due to some sort of mutation in one or more genes, she says.

But there’s no indication of underlying medical issues or that the newborn reticulated giraffe — a subspecies native to eastern Africa — is at a genetic disadvantage.

David Bright, zoo director at the Brights Zoo, says that the baby’s nine-year-old mother, Shenna, had previously birthed three other calves and the trio were all spotted.

This latest addition to the zoo’s giraffe family was born at a weight of around 190 pounds, he says, and her veterinary care team concluded “she’s healthy and normal” — though her coloring was a surprise.

A case of spotlessness

Genetics often influence animal coloring in diverse ways.

Giraffes with all white coloring have previously been spotted in the wild, including two at a reserve in Kenya in 2017.

Those animals had a genetic condition called leucism, which blocks skin cells from producing pigments.

"There’s no known explanation for the spotless giraffe in Tennessee beyond that it’s almost certainly due to some kind of genetic mutation or mutations," says Fred Bercovitch, a wildlife conservation biologist at the Anne Innis Dagg Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on giraffe conservation.

The last known case of a spotless giraffe was an animal named Toshiko born in 1972 at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, CBS News reported.

That giraffe’s mother had birthed another spotless calf several years earlier, according to Bright.

The Brights Zoo, which is home to just over 700 animals of 126 different species, including nine giraffes, asked the public to vote on four potential names for the giraffe calf on its Facebook page.

It accrued over 17,000 votes in the first day, Bright says.

There are four candidate names, all in Swahili: Kipekee (unique), Firyali (extraordinary or unusual), Shakiri (she is most beautiful), and Jamelia (one of great beauty).

What’s in a spot?

A 2018 study published in the journal PeerJ found that certain aspects of giraffe spots are passed down from mother to calf, such as how round the spots are and their smoothness (which is technically referred to as “tortuousness”).

The study authors also noted that bigger, rounder spots seemed linked to higher survival rates for young giraffes.

Still unanswered, however, was if that was possibly due to better camouflage or other unknown factors like enhanced ability to regulate temperature.

Bercovitch, who wasn’t involved in that study, says he wouldn’t be concerned about the spotless giraffe’s health even if the giraffe was born in the wild and away from a zoo’s medical care.

“Among mammals, the fur and the hair are the primary features that assist in thermoregulation, not the color of the fur,” he says.

“Giraffes can regularly raise their body temperature by a few degrees … they don’t sweat,” he says.

“That’s one of the reasons you find giraffes under trees—they want to keep their body temperatures within certain limits.”

Even the lack of camouflage wouldn’t necessarily mean the giraffe would be at a disadvantage in the wild, he says, since the mortality rate for young giraffes from lion predation is already so high.

Ferguson, the wildlife veterinarian says she looks forward to hearing more about the giraffe in the years to come.

“What would be cool,” she says, “would be to take an infrared light photo or a thermograph of her to see if the spot pattern is still there but invisible to our eye.”

My take on the SR:TUC main characters! (along with some headcanons/design changes)

They all have tails because I said so :) (only Kitsune’s can be seen from this angle).

You can’t see Chizo’s tail because Lady Fuwa cut it off. This is either because Fuwa docks all tails from her ninja to make them more agile/less likely to be seen or Chizo did something and to punish her, Fuwa docked her tail. Idk whichever one you like more :)).

Chizo is actually very muscular. I mean, she’s been training to be a ninja since probably before she could walk. Why isn’t she muscular, character designers??

Kitsune is chubby also because I said so.

From oldest to youngest it’s Gen (17), Chizo (16), Usagi (16), and Kitsune (15).

I’m pretty sure it’s heavily implied but Gen and Toshiko are fraternal twins (I’m a twin so you can’t argue with me >:( /j).

I gave Gen dark green eyes because I think his eyes were shown up close in the episode where Usagi and Chikabuma have a staring contest and they were green. I might be misremembering but I’m too lazy to double check lol

Pride headcanons gooo: Usagi is gay Kitsune is lesbian Gen gives me aroacespec vibes and I saw one other people hc that so I’m sticking to my gut Chizo is either sapphic or mspec. Either way she’s not straight (These are only sexuality headcanons cause I don’t really hc gender unless I’m projecting my demigirl-ness. Gen has OCD

Chizune headcanons: The moment Kitsune saw Chizo she liked her. Girl saw a tall, muscular woman and went “oooh yes I want that one” It took Chizo a while to realize she actually had a crush on Chizo because the last crush she had was on Kaiyo (that kid who gave her friendship candy) when she was a young child. Kitsune had some relationship experience, but they weren’t that serious as she was living on the streets and couldn’t commit to something as serious as a romantic relationship. She also preferred to be alone during this period of her life. It’s easier to steal enough money with only one mouth to worry about. Chizo has no relationship experience as all Neko Ninja are forbidden from forming any romantic relationship. They got together by the start of season 2. Kitsune loves how flustered Chizo gets from acts of romantic gestures, even simple ones like holding hands.
