James paused, trying to gather up the words for the feeling. “It’s like, it’s unfathomable that I could ever do anything else. Not because he expects me to or because I have to, but because… there’s never been any other possibility, not really. I tried, you know, I wanted to be able to choose someone else, but I don’t think I have it in me. I’ve always thought I was made to love him. I’ve realized in the past year or so that maybe that isn’t true. Maybe there’s a life out there where we didn’t even know each other, and I was better for it. Maybe it isn’t inevitable that we end up together. In fact, it seems like quite the opposite. We’ve always had every odd against us, and sometimes, it doesn’t matter how much you love someone. Love alone isn’t enough to make it work. If it were, we would have been fine, but we weren’t. Nothing was fine, nothing has ever been fine. But… I still want him. I’d still choose him a million times, and I know people might say it’s unhealthy. I know Sirius doesn’t get it, even though he accepts it now. I know Remus thinks we were always too tangled up in each other… do– do you think it’s wrong? Do you think that wanting him so badly is…bad?”

36 for the word game, please!
36. — conditional
"You don't... want to eat my soul?" Izuku asked. Everything felt unreal, between the light around the demon and the floating sensation between Izuku and his body. Maybe it was just the bloodloss or oxygen deprivation. Maybe the demon wasn't even here. That'd be the better option, right?
"It would not be." The demon grumbled. "Young man, I'd have to be a very powerful demon to utilize souls in magic. I don't know if anyone but the demon king has ever managed it. As for eating humans... Well, yes, some demons would. But I don't."
Well, then Izuku's would-be murderers were going to be very disappointed.
"They just summoned a demon, guess there wasn't a way to phone ahead and check your interest. Sorry you got dragged into this too, then, you can leave right?" And then with no demon to fulfill their wish, Izuku's kidnappers would... Probably just kill him. He was dead anyway.
The demon's brows furrowed, his eyes shone sharp blue in black. "I could, but I don't want to leave you to your death. Nor do I want them to try again, with another summoning circle."
Oh. That was nice of him.
"Unfortunately, I can't really do anything yet until I accept or deny the contract. Until you are dead, or mine." The demon began to pace, yellow bangs swaying side to side. Izuku watched him, and didn't move from the circle painted on the ground. Moving sounded like it would hurt.
"Well, I guess..." The demon sighed, then turned back. "Ok, here's an offer: I adopt you as my son. That means accepting the contract, with another on top."
Izuku already had a dad. He thought about what his mom would say if he said yes, it would have broken her heart. But if he said no... Well she wouldn't exactly have been happy about this, either.
"As your son?"
"It would allow you safe passage to the Netherworld and would fulfill a condition of the contract."
"The Netherworld?"
"Where demons dwell. As I said, in this world... You're not long for it."
"What are the other conditions?"
"I'd need something from you. As this saves your life, you'd have to give up something too."
"My soul?"
"No, that'd be under my custody until you reach adulthood. You'd have to give up your surname."
"Oh, like, change my name on the family registry because I'd be adopted? Demons have family registries too?"
"Sorta... But no. I mean, give it up. You wouldn't ever remember your family's name here, and it'd be replaced with mine."
Oh.
It was his mom's surname.
"So if I don't agree, I die. And if I do, I forget my name and go to the Netherworld with you, and you are definitely only going to adopt me and not eat me because if you wanted to do that you already would have, I guess, and... What happens here? To make sure there isn't another summoning circle or they try to get even more people killed because it apparently works and-"
The demon waved a hand. "In accepting, I would also be sealing the deal with... them too, yes, but I can then make sure they are unable to do anymore harm with it."
"So, you wouldn't be giving them what they want?"
The demon snorted. "I'd be giving them what they think they want. And I can promise you this, they will regret it."
Izuku almost asked what it was. Almost asked what they wanted badly enough to kill him. But couldn't.
"All right. I agree."
"Really?" The demon sounded too surprised, considering he'd been trying to sell Izuku on this plan. Or, trying to get Izuku to sell on his plan?
"Yeah."
"Deal. Sign here." The demon snapped, and papers and and old pen hovered in front of Izuku. He couldn't read the paper.
He signed it anyway.

yet another reprise of the same post i’ve made dozens and dozens of times before but GEEZ! i am so incredibly lucky to be doing what i’m doing! to think i spend hours and hours and days and weeks and months and years and hopefully DECADES pouring over animation history, lauding the masters and studying their work so intently and absorbing it and feeling and identifying with it, and the fact that i get to walk the same turf they did. that i get to be a part of this business that they established. that i get to carry the torch and that, some day, no matter how small or insignificant, my own work and contributions will be regarded as “animation history” because i work in animation and all history is history. i just can’t believe that i’m privileged enough to indulge in some of the same practices that The Greats did, that i get to study their work and, if i’m so lucky, channel and make homages to it where possible.
this isn’t to say “i’m just like Tex Avery because i work in animation TOO!!!!”, but, rather, an expression of my sheer GRATITUDE and amazement that i get to do what i do at all. i’ve met so many nice people. blossomed so much as an artist and cartoonist. get inspired each day by the talent i am constantly surrounded by. and to think that i get to be a part of it!!!!! that i get to carry the torch! i know this sounds so conceited and pompous and i really don’t mean it that way at all because i don’t WANT to be known as someone who people are only interested in because i work in cartoons. i just wanna be known for me! what “me” is i guess is for you to decide! but, regardless, i’m just feeling extra thankful tonight that i’m able to indulge in my passions and SPREAD my passions and have said passions fostered. that i’m lucky enough to tread the same ground as some of the greatest creatives that gave me this ground to tread on. there will never be enough words to properly articulate just how deeply and passionately my gratitude extends.

Finally introducing my creepypasta oc
Subject n.017
Daya was a young man that, after running away from home, met a woman named Carol who offered to let him live at her house. The two lived peacefully together for a few months, the woman even offered him a job at the place where she worked: a lab where they performed experiments on humans. After Daya refused, Carol forcefully had to make him a test subject; all the patients were labelled buy a number, he was 017.
Two long years passed in that filthy lab, all the subjects were barely recognizable for how invasive and cruel the experiments were, no one dared to resist or they would have been “punished”; no one, but a particularly rebellious patient. After getting ahold of a small weapon, 017 attacked all the doctors and scientists at the facility, but he didn’t kill them.
He kept them alive and tortured them by reproducing the same experiments they did on the other subjects: the victims were mutilated and sewn them back together, injected them with weird chemicals, they got their organs took out and left to bleed.
That cruel game of his lasted months, until everyone was left dead.
017 then escaped from the lab and found shelter in a small shack inside a near forest. He rarely goes out in public, not wanting anyone to see the monster he’s become.

Please share some fav frelma moments or headcanons? The fandom is so quiet ahaha
Sure!
Canon from the books trilogy (spoilers duh) (shot out to my friend Clei for getting me the books)
1) When Daphne makes Velma accidentally admit she has a crush on Fred and her reaction is just 'Damn Velma I didn't know you were so traditional'
2) When they dance together in Shaggy's house in the second book
3) Fred shamelessly flirting by touching her hair at school and Velms' almost heart attack.
4) Really, Velma's pining in the books is delicious.
5) The almost kiss in the third book.
6) When Fred almost dies in that fire and Velma just starts to cry out of pure relief when she sees him alive
7) Fred telling the journalists next thing he's doing is asking 'the girl he likes' out when he leaves hospital.
8) Their last scene together at the end. Which lives rent free on my head. I even wrote a little continuation/expansion of that scene in a drabble.
(Overall, the books aren't perfect. The focus is Daphne and Velma's friendship and that means too little focus on Shaggy and Freddie. But it was absolutely worth it. It was like the best Frelma fanfic but actually canon in its verse. Clinging to those books forever)
Honorific mentions of other versions: the "DORKY CHICKS LIKE YOU TURN ME ON TOO" line in the live action (lmfao) (Linda Cardellini and Freddie Prinze's chemistry was awesome), Fred going all the way to show her he appreciates everything she does in Be Cool Scooby Doo, and their scenes together in The Mystery Begins. Also every moment they share the screen in 'Mystery Incorporated: Welcome to Coolsville'. That version of the characters was the best one in recent years.
..
Headcanons now:
1) Has anyone watched that animated short horror video parodying the totally awful Velma show? The one with eldritch monster Scooby? Yeah they're together the next time Scooby reboots reality. Both of them are aware of what's going on and try to scape the time loop (confusing if you don't know the story of the video 'Velma Meets The Original Velma' on YouTube, plz watch it)
2) Moving on to greener grasses, eventually they have twin boys, Ricky and Roger (named after Fred and Shaggy). Obviously Daphne and Shaggy are the godparents.
3) Shaggy let's them adopt 3 puppies from the Doo family years in the future.
4) Scrappy lived with them for some time. Velma was the only one who could boss him around. Fred spoiled him.
5) Velma sends him food to his work out of nowhere because sometimes she's sure he's forgotten to eat. He does the same plus flowers. Both of them are right: they forget to have dinner. Shaggy never shuts up about it.
6) (I usually go with Archeologist!Fred and Astronomer!Velms. They travel a lot) (The kids are homeschooled until they can leave for a boarding school)
7) Ricky and Roger are mama boys
8) Fred does the taxes. Velms always forgets.
9) Shaggy is a chef (duh) and Daphne a private detective and they're never too far away. Their kid is a little older than the twins but they hang out a lot. Sometimes Velma refers to Daphne as 'her sister' so the boys don't figure out Daphne isn't their 'actual aunt' until they're older.
10) Velma has a photo of him on her wallet. Fred is the little spoon.
