Vampire Heart Draculaura Review Part 4 of 4
Tumblr media
In this final part of my review, I’ll be comparing her a bit more to some other Monster High vampires.
Including my G1 Elissabat (who really needs her hair de-glued) and I’ve had her hair “restyled” like that ever since I got her just because I liked how she wore it up in the flashbacks in “Frights, Camera, Action.” The picture above has mini-dress Draculaura with Elissabat, the true Vampire Queen. Luckily she’s pretty cool with this Draculaura playing dress up, as long as she gets to try on her outfit too.
Tumblr media
Also, I had never undressed my Eissabat before and didn’t know these were two separate pieces!
Tumblr media
And here is she is!!! I kept her puff purple sleeves to make it fit more with her color scheme. It’s not a bad look at all and I would have loved to have seen a true Vampire Queen Eissabat Collector doll.
Tumblr media
Something like this, but even more dramatic. Give her some large vampire wings, layers of bows and bats and deep purples, a better looking tiara to house the vampire’s heart than what she wore in the movie, the works!
Tumblr media
I think her boots look better under the dress than Draculaura’s though.
Her purples and large bell skirt gown are also kinda reminding me of this collector Barbie:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The true Vampire Queen….
….and now
Tumblr media
Jump scare!
I wanted to compare G2’s hair play Draculaura (my favorite of my G2 Draculaura) due to the light pink steaks in her hair (as I thought it was the same light pink Saran) and her “darker face-up.” Turns out, it is actually a shade darker than Vampire Heart Draculaura’s and her makeup is not as dark as I remembered.
Tumblr media
The difference in these dolls are night day, so onto something a bit closer.
Tumblr media
Draculaura’s 50 dollar Amazon Exclusive collector doll vs Amazon’s Exclusive Collector 90/100 dollar doll.
I never thought I’d say this, but I actually way prefer the new doll over the old one in every way except for the lack of diary in the current release.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was actually never a huge fan of the Collector Draculaura’s eyes (they look better far away and look like they were designed by Tim Burton) or her extra long body (I did like the chest articulation though, but thought an ever TALLER Draculaura looked odd), and prefer the new face up and eyelashes on the newer doll.
Tumblr media
It does look like they have that same really light pink Saran.
Tumblr media
They both have crumby stands that don’t hold the doll very well (at least Collector Draculaura’s is beautifully detailed).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And surprisingly non of these lace/lattice patterns were present on Vampire Heart’s Draculaura’s skirt. The embroidery on Collector Draculaura is still unmatched though, and she’s still an extremely lovely doll.
Tumblr media
Buuuuut, she surprisingly has more in common with Haunte Couture Draculaura than Vampire Heart’s and visa versa.
Tumblr media
She’s like the in between of Vampire Heart’s and Haunte Couture (similar colors to Vampire Heart’s, buuuut the same layered skirt with bat wing edges, heel/sole to her shoes, and a cape that attaches to her wrists…and I guess hats and rooted eyelashes that Haunt Couture has).
Tumblr media
Well, Draculaura likes to reuse and update pieces of her wardrobe from her long life.
Tumblr media
“Come play with us Vampire Heart Draculaura.” For fun, I compared OG Draculaura (whose hair has been degreased with LA’s Totally Awesome, but she just needs to be retro-brighted and I haven’t had time to do that).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She has the much skinner eyes of the OG Draculaura than the more “show accurate” Creeproduction Draculaura, but has the darker pink skin tone of the Creeproduction.
Well, I think that’s everyone, let’s get you to the Vampire Heart ball, or whatever ball your vampires are celebrating this week.
Huh. Looks like Valentine has offered to dance with you Draculaura. I wonder if he’s reformed in this timeline too….
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait, now the famous movie star -and nothing else- Elissabat wants to dance with you instead. I’m sure Lord Stoker will be glad at all the attention you’re receiving….such a graceful model Vampi-
Tumblr media
Tripped over Fangelica….it looks like she’s in this timeline too…
Tumblr media
Anyways, all bow down to the Vampire Queen, the most beautiful of Monster High’s Skullector’s dolls (to date and my opinion).
Tumblr media
….seriously I really want a diary to go with her…stop leaving those out Mattel!!

Funko FNAF 13.5in Freddy Figure Review
Tumblr media
Saw this bad boy at target's and made an impulse decision. 😎 The retail price is $32.99, but thanks to a target circle coupon I got him for $25, which ain't half bad.
So for the hell of it, here's my review of the 13.5in Freddy Fazbear doll.
Tumblr media
Currently there are only two characters available, Freddy and Bonnie. I hope they make make a Chica and Foxy in this size as well, as it'd be cool to have the main four as a set.
Box art is pretty simple, and kinda bland, mostly recycling game images.
Tumblr media
The inside box art is just the office from Fnaf 2, which is not the game this version of Freddy appears in. The Freddy on the front of the box is the wrong version too; I'm not sure why Funko always wants to use Fnaf 2 images on the merch. This isn't the only time they've done this.
Tumblr media
Here's the big guy out of the box. He's pretty solid, and has a good weight to him.
His mike is his only accessory, and the hat isn't removable. It had a tough time getting him to hold the mike, as he doesn't have enough space in his paw for it. The mike itself is hollow, and I had to squish it in. You can tell it's squished too, and it bothers me.
Tumblr media
He's technically got 14 pts of articulation, a ball joint at his neck, joints at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and even his jaw moves! But good luck getting him posed because those joints were SUPER stiff. It felt like, well, wrestling a bear heh.
I wasn't sure they were supposed to move at first, but I looked at another review and yes, they are.
Also, many of them don't go super far anyway. I don't mind too much as I don't expect an anamatronic to have a full range of movements, and it's enough to give him some personality when taking photos.
But they are wayyyyy too stiff. If they were a struggle for me, I imagine a kid would really be having a hard time getting him to move.
Tumblr media
Here's a Midge for scale.
Freddy's the perfect size to fit in with the dollies, which is the main reason I wanted him. It's just so fun to combine my interests.
Tumblr media
Speaking of combinations, here's big Fred with lil' Fred.
As you can see, it's pretty much the same sculpt, just enlarged. Looking at them together, I wish they had altered the fur texture a little for big Fred. It looks kinda off at this scale, like he has the texture of an orange instead of fleece.
Also, little Freddy has much more accurate coloring and better detailed paint. Might give big Fred a good black wash and dry brushing to match.
Tumblr media
...But at least big Fred doesn't fall apart.
My lil' Fred is from the first wave of figures, and he is constantly falling to pieces whenever I handle him. I don't know if Funko ever fixed this issue with later figures, but I don't often handle them because of this.
Tumblr media
So what's the verdict?
I like him a lot actually. There are a few annoyances, but this is exactly the kind of figure I really wanted at the height of my 2015-17 Fnaf phase. Plus he's super sturdy, mostly game accurate, and I bet a lot of kids will want him and Bonnie for Christmas.
Hopefully we'll get Chica and Foxy in this size too, maybe even Springtrap.

Just got MDLX Starscream in the mail from the threezero preorder and I’m flabbergasted. Except for one fatal flaw, this is a 9.5/10 figure.
Tumblr media
If you don’t see it right away, here’s a six-second video:
Unbelievable. The whole idea behind a non-transforming Transformers toy is that you sacrifice the transforming gimmick for greater design and poseability. But in this single-piece design the wings are flat, static, attach with a weak friction fit, and even smash Starscream’s jet air intakes flat. The intakes should be on his shoulders. This design makes no sense to me.
As for the other -.5 I mentioned: Starscream’s null rays have pistol grips. Pistol grips aren’t known for their ability to swivel.
Tumblr media
Without a swivel, the nullrays are fixed in position and get in the way of posing his arms.
I personally have no regrets buying this figure. I would have gotten him despite the flawed wing design, but I think these wings might be a dealbreaker for a lot of people.

Review: LEGO Ideas 21344 Orient Express Train
Wait a minute, wasn’t that supposed to be green? No, the real Orient Express was blue with stately gold inserts and that’s the color we get in the new LEGO Ideas set.
Tumblr media
I was lucky to have the set delivered to me by LEGO thanks to BrickCentral, for which I am very grateful. Everything you will read below is my own opinion.
Building
Building the set was a lot of fun, and the dedicated tracks (instead of standard LEGO tracks) are a very nice addition. At first glance of the box I already imagined this huge sheet of stickers and placed crookedly on the wagons. But there were very positive surprises: golden, even prints on the tiles. Bravo LEGO!! This adds a really huge exclusivity to an exclusive transport.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The interiors of the carriages are wonderful, spacious, and filled with details.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we come to one of the most important things, the Orient Express fits on regular tracks from any LEGO set which is brilliant news. The proportions of the wagons themselves are perfect, huge at almost 40 cm long each.
The disadvantage is some repeatability. We start by building a 120 cm long track and pass through 2 wagons that are the same from the outside and many steps are repeated, which is noticeable after time.
Details
The interiors of the wagons with “wooden” inserts look beautiful. The golden crowbar in the locomotive cabin is perfect, a hidden diamond in a cleverly designed chassis. I can go on and on about all these little details that make up the beautifully crafted set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Minifigures
We get 8 minifigs here but I don’t think any of them will beat the porter and the cameraman, in my opinion. They are great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This does not mean that the others don’t stand out. Each is nicely set in an era with interesting accessories (the vintage camera is awesome) and style.
Tumblr media
I have the least sentiment towards the driver, but I respect him for his hard work which would be difficult in a tuxedo. Minifigures give the set this fun function, which means that the set is not just a “collector of dust” on the shelf, but a nice set to play with– my children confirm this 100%.
Summary
Orient Express is beautifully designed in terms of proportions and the spirit of the era, at least the carriages and minifigs. The locomotive/engine is the weakest part.
Tumblr media
In terms of photography, it’s tough to shoot because it’s loooong and repetitive. Is it worth buying? At 299 euros, it’s not my first choice, but you can’t go wrong buying it.
Tumblr media
You can seriously enjoy looking at it, unfasten the wagon from time to time, hold it, look at it, put it back and the world becomes more beautiful. But you can also build tracks, arrange minifigures, ride, and just have fun… that’s what LEGO is all about.
Age: 18+ Price: $299.99 / £259.99/ €299.99/ 469.99 AUD/ 2499 CNY / 121990 HUF Pieces: 2,540

HGUC G-Line Standard Armor
Premium Bandai exclusive, unfortunately. Such an awesome, solid kit with good articulation. Pretty solid color separation too (though worth noting that I did paint the missing details) and good playability. I prefer the unarmored version due to aesthetics alone, but the armor pieces stay on solidly.
I recommend looking up the G-Line in Japanese (ジーライン) in sites like Buyee if you want to buy it for a decent price too, since... well, P-Bandai.
Recommended!
I'd happily answer any questions you have about the kit - feel free to ask.

Vampire Heart Draculaura Review Part 3
Tumblr media
Wait Draculaura, come back this way, we need to take a closer look and review your clothes! They’re all removable and separate pieces (a wonder for current day Mattel). And surprisingly fairly easy to undress and redress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her whole outfit looks lightly inspired by Elissabat’s movie persona: Veronica Von Vamp and Draculaura’s flashback version of herself in “Why do Ghoul’s Fall in Love?” More close ups of all the individual clothing pieces under the cut, as these reviews are long suckers.
Tumblr media
She has small satin ribbons on both wrists and black lace (the same that is used for her neck and hems of both her dress and skirt). Out of curiosity I checked Haunte Couture Draculaura, and it is different.
Tumblr media
The rose on her chest is also made of metal (it doesn’t feel like plastic), another surprise from Mattel, and is a very light pink/lavender.
Tumblr media
Now let’s get a closer look at large bow that also works as a shawl (I love that idea).
Tumblr media
It’s so long and elegant, and like a longer version of Dawn of the Dance’s bow.
Tumblr media
Here is the bow off of her. It was very easy to remove.
Tumblr media
And here she is without her shawl/bow on:
Tumblr media
Another really cute look for her. She just looks so cohesive and well designed!! Let’s now take some closer looks at her large skirt.
Tumblr media
A close up of one of the panels to her skirt. The pearl beads are also the lightest of pale pink as well. I’m very glad to see their not glued on, but instead sewn. The panels really don’t feel like pleather, more of a rubbery plastic (hopefully they will not rot and peel). And there are two layers. It’s attached over this thicker plastic (vinyl?) that feels like one of those old blow up beach balls….or a pool toy. Hopefully it will not get sticky over time.
Tumblr media
There you can see the two separate layers.
Tumblr media
A better look at the scalloped edges and the ruffles layer over the edge (which is also a nicely hemmed, multi fabric piece).
Tumblr media
And the patterned ruffle laying back down, more cute bat designs. You can see how the nylon(?) pieces seems already kinda rough at the ends; like it was cut with a dull pair of scissors.
Tumblr media
It is connected to the “mini dress” in two spots with a little bit of thread that is easily cut. And has velcro in the back.
Tumblr media
The bell skirt off the doll. The vinyl is nice in that it helps the dress keep its full shape. Even if an actual fabric bell skirt would have been great to see as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A picture from above and underneath the skirt. The pattern closest around the doll looks like a bunch of bats, and I love that detail.
Tumblr media
Without the bell-skirt, you get Monster High’s more traditional mini dress silhouette. But even just these two pieces look so nice together.
Tumblr media
Another photo of her lovely face and a better look at her lightly puffed sleeves, and the black lace around her throat.
She’s also giving me some Duchess Swan vibes from Ever After High. Must be all the black and white.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, now just the lace jumpsuit. I love the extra details of black thread along the front. Such a lovely addition! Also, I am surprised at how quickly I have gotten used to Draculaura on her shorter, chubbier body in G3 because she almost looks out of proportion here. But, I do miss the more delicate hand molds used in G1 over G3….anyways back to her outfit…
Tumblr media
Just the mini dress and the bow together also don’t make a bad combination. I also didn’t want to keep removing her hands, so have a handless Draculaura in some of these photos.
Tumblr media
I literally couldn’t stop taking photos of her……
Okay, and here are all of her fabric clothing pieces lined up:
Tumblr media
In my fourth and final part of this long review, I’ll be comparing her to some other dolls in my collection, including some of her other collector dolls, and the actual Queen of the Vampires.

Off the back of my photo dump post, here’s the detailed bit.
First, anyone that follows me should likely know that one of my Special Interests ™️ is motorcycles. Second, others follow me for ball-jointed dolls (BJD) stuff. BJD are just big action figures for me.
Concept
Motored Cyborg Runner (AKA 少女発動機) is a line of 17.5cm action figures, which are a mashup of “girl” and motorcycles. These designs are based on AF Kuro’s work.
Tumblr media
I am n o t a fan of his barely-pubescent t¡ts and aśś and pυbis mons work. (Someone call the Hawkeye Initiative on this weird and gratuitous twät shot.) BUT I DIGRESS!
Here’s a pallet cleanser:
Tumblr media
As you can see: basically sportbike gajinka. My (very gross) hero!
The details
Sen-ti-nel and Goodsmile teamed up to create action figures based on these designs. I’m assuming that this design is Tsujigiri. (I use Hepburn spelling, despite all packaging and marketing materials using Kunrei-shiki: Tsu-zi-giri. Why? Because there is no “zi” sound in Japanese and because I love you, of course!)
Onward! Have a recap photo:
Tumblr media
Here’s where the motorcycle enthusiast in me gets consumed with glee. The motorcycle details. Starting with the removable fuel tank backpack. The tank shape isn’t motorcycleish, but from this angle? Yes, yes it is. It’s like looking down at your fuel cap from sitting on the seat.
Tumblr media
Then there’s the torque wrench settings. On race bikes and cars, torque settings are painted next to bolts so nobody has to remember how many newton meters (N/M) is needed for each one.
Tumblr media
Sorry, this shot sucks because I just used my phone all these. The warning label on this one reads: Caution, hot surface. The black arrow points up to the engine, but more specifically the engine’s header. Caution is appropriate: I don’t know a single motorcycle tech that hasn’t been burned on a header.
Tumblr media
The single cylinder engine is very accurate to a motorcycle. Even the silver cover combined with the darker case is iconic. It’s so accurate that I can’t help but question why anyone would go with this single cylinder 4-stroke model when they could go with a 2-stroke? Better choice in my opinion… on a completely made up future that has internal combustion still in existence.
Tumblr media
And, of course, we have the 4-stroke style collector/silencer/muffler. If I had some Akrapovic, Arrow, or Yoshimura decals in the right size, I’d slap that sucker on. The figure comes with two silencers, but the other one is very short.
Tumblr media
Not a motorcycle thing, but look at this tiny QR code on the arm pocket! Adorable.
Tumblr media
So there’s my word vomit on motorcycle things that make me half the target audience for these figures. Just one more thing, to mention, I guess. Scale.
Scale
Have a super crappy, backlit photo:
Tumblr media
Pictured with:
Masterpiece (MP) scale Starscream
Classified scale Cobra Viper
Figma Utena Tenjou
The figure is the same sort of scale as Classified G.I. Joes if you compare them knee-to-knee. Tsujigiri has a lot of height in those wheels.
If you don’t mind that her height obliterates the illusion of “massive machine” she scales very well with MP scale Transformers.
