Yanno, it had not occured to me that a power washer could be used to flesh a hide; all the tutorials I've seen/been to have been mega traditional and taught how to make the tools out of bone, stone, and wood whereas 'modern' tanning uses the same kind of huge industrial machines that fillet salmon etc.
Adapt, innovate, use the tools that you have. Water under high pressure is a non-polluting, super time and energy saving method.

Stumbled upon this book in my Google Drive, and somehow my first thought was that it might be something for you 😊
The title is: Back to the basics - a complete guide to traditional skills
Edited by Abigal R. Gehring
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j6gPegCllTiB049RozYhH75Fr2XcQ83I/view?usp=drivesdk
Here's a link to the book from my drive, but I included the title in case u don't want to click on a random link from a stranger lol (I hope it works, haven't tried sharing stuff from drive before like this)
To be honest I have not read it myself, so I don't know how good it actually is, but I thought I would still share it, since the overview looked really promising 🤗
It's amazing yes! I've read it entirely and have a link somewhere on my blog too but it's always good to post it again because this book is invaluable in terms of information it gives and I've learned a lot from it.

Did you know that making your own dried herbs is surprisingly easy? This summer I’m testing out drying a wide variety of herbs from the garden. Here’s my first success story - drying lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). Almost any herb can be dried for long term storage, but the process works best with herbs that are woodier (dryer) to begin with.
I begin by picking the fresh herbs and lightly washing them with dish soap to remove dirt and fungal spores. This prevents the herbs from going rotten during the drying process. I then dry the herbs on clean tea towels. Next, I bind up the herbs’ stems and place them upside down in brown paper bags. This protects the herbs from ultraviolet light which can break down colour and flavour molecules. The paper bag also helps absorb water and help the dehydration process. I place the bagged herbs in the hot water heater chamber so they are exposed to continuous steady dry heat.
In about 1-2 weeks the herbs are ready to pack in ziplock bags for long term storage. Adding a bag of silica crystals (the famous “do not eat” packets often found in Asian snack foods) helps reduce moisture and prevent mould. Now I can look forward to lemon lavender cake all year round!

Child 1 has been making bread from a subscription box today. Memory from over 45 years ago swirls to the top of my brain, "did you it over and tap it? If it sounds hollow, it's done"

Seeing, "Zuko is canonically bad at firebending," takes on my dash, so...
Zuko is canonically not bad at firebending. He may not be the natural prodigy that Azula or Iroh are, but skills don't work on a basis of either "extreme prodigy" or "not good at all."
Zuko works hard throughout the series to grow and improve in his firebending, and he does.
He defeats Zhao, an adult firebending master, in an Agni Kai when he's 16 and ostensibly still stuck on the basics, because mastering the fundamentals is a huge part of getting "good" at any skill.
He learns lightning redirection in about a day and later successfully uses it against Ozai, who is meant to be an extremely powerful firebender.
He learns to understand and appreciate his fire on a fundamental level from the dragons, who were the original firebenders, and in so doing he becomes a firebending master just as much as Katara (who had a few days/weeks at most of formal training) or Toph (who declared herself an earthbending master after learning from badgermoles) are masters of their elements.
And then he took everything he had learned about fire and put it together to help Aang master firebending over the course of a few weeks.
None of that says, "canonically bad firebender." It says that Zuko didn't start out as a major natural prodigy like his sister, but he worked hard, never stopped learning and growing, and developed into a very strong and capable firebending master in his own right by the end of the show.

Feeney thought about this on the ride home as his horse trotted gently toward the sunset. He wasn't a philosopher and couldn't even spell the word, but the voice of the goblin officer rang in his head. He thought, what would happen if goblins learned everything about humans and did everything the human way because they thought it was better than the goblin way? How long would it be before they were no longer goblins and left behind everything that was goblin, even their pots? The pots were lovely, he'd bought several for his mum. Goblins took pots seriously now, they sparkled, even at night, but what happens next? Will goblins really stop taking an interest in their pots and will humans learn the serious, valuable and difficult and almost magical skill of pot making? Or will goblins become, well, just another kind of human? And which would be better?
And then he thought, maybe a policeman should stop thinking about all this because, after all, there was no crime, nothing was wrong...and yet in a subtle way, there was. Something was being stolen from the world without anybody noticing or caring.
Terry Pratchett, Raising Steam
