Happy Trail Run
The clouds rolled over just as I got to the trail head. There was a little drizzle, but it brought out a striking double rainbow 🌈 🤗
I am so grateful for this place. Being out here makes me so happy and filled with peace.

Spring?! Is that you?? It’s me, Margaret. 🍃 I’m coming out of winter hibernation and feeling so excited for budding leaves and warmer weather here in the Cascades
Birthday miles for Claire with dog party hats and giraffes on bikes and post-run donuts
Escaped over the pass for a night down in the Willamette National Forest
Buttery single track and easy miles on one of my favorite trails in Oregon on the way back

A running adventure I did!
Around 12:30 pm on a Wednesday afternoon during Thanksgiving break I awoke from a nap with the sudden impulse to run a half marathon from my university campus to central Washington DC. Thirty minutes later I was dressed, hydration vest packed and secured with warm layers, snacks, liquids, and my phone.
Taking local trails almost the whole way I covered the distance in 2:30:13. If you are looking for a sign to do fun, physically challenging activities on impulse, here’s your sign.
This was one of the coolest things I’ve done in a long time and I’m already searching for the next adventure ;3

The most frustrating thing is that, despite my best efforts, I cannot get this photo to capture the expansive feeling of being by this mountain in person. It is just soooo awesome and amazing to run by with the mountain at your side. I love it and just wish I could find a photo that really conveys that sense of power and wonder.
