"Shopping for clothes is already intimidating. There are so many options and styles to consider, as well as factors like sustainability and ethics.
But for people in fat, disabled, or queer and gender-nonconforming bodies, it’s even more arduous.
Nico Herzetty, Emma K. Clark, and Paul Herzetty wondered: What if there was a way people could shop — not necessarily by color or size — but by measurements, materials, and ethics?
So they set off to create their website: Phoria.
Here, shoppers can set up a free profile, add their body measurements (and “typical fit challenges”) and peruse over 270 brands. Once these data points are entered, users can personalize their pages with “saved,” “recommended,” or “hidden” brands.
Pages can be totally private, or shared with the community to connect over styles and brands.
Aside from fit, brands in the Phoria database (which claims to be “the largest database of plus-friendly brands”) can also be filtered as “gender-neutral,” “woman-run,” “small business,” or “natural fibers.” Users can also filter for price, preferred styles, and more.
Tumblr media
Pictured: A screenshot of the "Fit Challenges" feature on a Phoria user's profile.
Some brands include popular names like Athleta, Levi’s, and Patagonia. Others are small businesses, like Beefcake Swimwear, or Hey Peach.
“For so many people, it feels too damn hard to find and keep clothing that fits in all the ways that really matter. So we’re doing something about it,” the Phoria website reads.
“Unlike most online shopping experiences, we center the needs of plus-size women, nonbinary, and trans people, and prioritize supporting clothing brands focused on sustainability, ethics, and inclusion.” ...
That team — made up of Clark, and Nico and Paul Herzetty — calls themselves “fat, disabled, and very, very queer.”
“These are some of the main ways we identify, and they’re qualities that have directly impacted our ability to get dressed every day in a way that feels good,” the Phoria team introduces themselves on the website.
Tumblr media
Pictured: A screenshot of Phoria's plus-size clothing brand database.
In addition to catering the user experience to women, non-binary, and trans people, Phoria is also a benefit corporation, or a B corp.
“We’ve legally required ourselves to consider the interests of all our stakeholders — customers, employees, the planet, and our shareholders,” the Phoria website explains.
“Our specific public benefit purpose is to reduce people’s dependence on buying mass-produced items made in unsustainable ways and to use human-centered business models to boldly challenge economic systems of inequity.”
Right now, in the early stages of the company’s business, it doesn’t make any money.
“We’re focused on building something that genuinely solves plus-size people’s challenges around clothes shopping and supports smaller and more sustainable brands,” Phoria’s website states.
So, spreading the word seems to be of utmost importance...
Additionally, TikTok creators @couplagoofs (a queer couple named Morgan and Phoebe), recently shared a video in which they discovered Phoria. They met the website’s creators at a fat liberation event in their city and were introduced to the tool.
Quickly, commenters responded with gratitude and excitement.
“It is so disappointing to sort through pages of plus size clothes that aren’t even plus size,” a TikTok user commented. “This is gonna be such a good tool!”
Some even shared emotional responses, speaking to the need at the heart of Phoria’s mission.
“I’m… gonna cry,” another commenter wrote. “I’ve needed this my whole life.”"

Currently available: Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 full
Take me to the demo. Now.
Disclaimer: While I do have an outline, this is a first draft/proof of concept situation. There will be many errors and things like personality options, and further expansion of the world around you, will be expanded once the first draft is done. Thank you for understanding.
Intro
So let’s be real, we all read fanfiction that followed the prompt of “Help, my parents sold me off to [insert boy band/ celebrate crush/ tumblr sexy man of the week)!”, but unlike those fanfictions, you weren’t sold off to your hot crush. After a life in isolation, your father, the king, sells you off to marry the prince of another country. With nothing but two guards, you make your way to meet the dreaded fate of marriage. Along the way, you will make friends, learn the truth about your kingdom, and find yourself in positions much worse than a forced marriage. One can only pray for your survival.
In this game you will explore your kingdom and what happened to the magic realm. It will include sensitive topics, and possible explicit content in the future.
The game focuses on interpersonal relationships.
What else?
Play as Male, Female, Nonbinary (option to customize your pronouns, future trans options planned)
Date one (or more) of your 7 friends
Play as straight, queer, poly, mono, or just be aro or ace
Be a total ass to your spouse or just accept your fate
Have fun seeing your kingdom in ruins!
Get your friends killed
Get yourself killed

Okay cool, but what about dating?
Tarek/Takischa (he/him; she/her) (Ftm/Mtf)  (genderselectable)
Old and grumpy, TK is 15 years your senior and has been serving the palace your entire life. They are stoic and devoted to the crown, they take their job more than serious, sometimes they can even parental or possessive. Underneath their blank face, you know they care for you, and they always will.
They are 6′3 and have ashen honey hair, curly and cutting off just above their eyes. Pale green eyes set deep against their ivory skin. They hide almost all of their skin with layers of clothing.
(Great if you have parental issues.)
Samuel/Samira (he/him; she/her) (Ftm/Mtf) (genderselectable)
Young and curious, Sammy is just a year younger than yourself, they can be naive and easy trusting. They’re optimistic and want to impress you and all their friends. Sammy has a lot to learn, and they’re more than eager to do so. With enough care and time, Sammy will grow into a great protector.
Sammy is 5′9 with very short black hair. Against their warm beige skin tone, their monolidded eyes are a deep reddish brown. They wear simple robust clothes.
Sammy is ace and sex neutral.
(Great if you don’t enjoy angst)
Alia (she/they) (afab)
A quiet person, she keeps to herself, but always stays polite, she is a shrine maiden and TKs friend. She is a peacemaker at heart, and tries to deescalate every situation. She would be considered one of the strongest magic users, if she would ever use it. She is about six years your senior.
Alia is 5′3 and has bronze hair that is cut into a short wolf hairstyle. Blue eyes against satin freckled skin. She wears a lavender dress, with white clothing to cover her arm.
Alia is ace and sex repulsed.
(Great if you like slow burn)
Sascha (He/they) (Ftm)
He is about ten years older, but that can be quickly forgotten by how charming, egotistical and even cowardly he can act. He is not only a danger to you and your friends, but themselves too. He pulls danger from beyond your understanding into your orbit. He is a teasing smart ass that isn’t above blackmailing or hurting anyone. Not to forget that he committed the highest crime there is, stealing a magic companions.
They are 6′1 and have long grey-white hair that falls to his hips. He has very pale skin and ice blue eyes. He wears high quality clothes, and a golden jacket that fades into a deep red.
Sascha is ace and sex positive.
(Great test of your patience.)
Kate (she/her) (Mtf)
Just a few years older than you, she is noble and a healer, she is a loud and loving personality. With teasing smile, she cares deeply about everyone’s well-being, but will never be above calling anyone out.
She is 6′0, her chocolate goddess locs fall beneath her shoulders, the curls fading into a pink color. Dark deep brown eyes against warm yet ashen honey skin tone. She wears pink toned dresses and many accessories.
(Great if you like women.)
Mikhail (he/they) (amab)
The prince of Riag, your spouse, and the second general. His easy going and considerate personality makes it hard to grasp, that he is celebrated by his own soldiers and nobles of his country, deeply feared by anyone outside his country. A war criminal for his country. Beloved warrior, lover of war. He is only a few years your senior.
Mikail is 5′7 and their dark brown hair would fall to his shoulders, if it wasn’t pulled back into a ponytail. The tips of his hair fading into an earthy, almost blueish green tone, matching his eyes against his cool olive skin tone. He wears short clothing due to the heat in Riag and the many training sessions they have daily.
(Great if you believe everyone deserves a second chance.)
Gigi (she/her) (afab)
She promised Judgement Day.
Gigi is 5′6 and with ash blonde hair curling around her soft face frame, cutting off just below her ears, and light brown, almost hazel eyes. She wears primarily black with orange accessories.

It feels like a complete miracle to me that Baldur's Gate 3 lets you play as a non-binary character and be gendered neutrally in the world.
I've never played a game where that was the case - not only can you customize your body with different voices and genitals and secondary sex characteristics that aren't locked together, but the identity option determines what pronouns people use for you.
Every companion uses they/them for your character, your romance option uses they/them for you in 3rd person party banter, and even random Goblin NPCs use they/them with comments like "Ew... you kissed them? Crusher licks toes!" (lol) that only trigger if you make hyper-specific choices, is amazing! They didn't shy away from using pronouns at all, they made the effort to record multiple versions of the lines.
For a lot of people, it will seem inconsequential. For the cis people who never consider playing as a non-binary character, they will not even notice beyond maybe a quick acknowledgement that there's a non-binary option in the character creator. Larian did it anyway and it makes this game into one where I can genuinely be immersed and do the kind of cringe self-insert stuff that everyone else gets to do by default!

really wish lesbians posting stuff about being a lesbian didn’t have to add a “t-rfs not included / t-rfs DNI” disclaimer every time we talk about lesbianism. like we’re always expected to clarify that we’re not t-rfs, that we don’t condone transphobia, and that we explicitly support trans people because otherwise our notes get filled with people saying “this sounds t-rfy”. i don’t even mind adding “t-rfs DNI” but what i hate is the expectation. why aren’t we allowed to just talk about ourselves and lesbianism without first having to state that we’re not evil every single time we want to talk about our sexuality. we’re assumed to be monoliths of animosity before we even open our mouths. our first words are always apologies on behalf of people who twisted our label, or reassurances that we’re not them. we have to fight to be heard because people stop listening when they hear the word “lesbian”. and i know “political lesbians” are responsible for the perversion of our label but non-lesbians will throw that around, holding it over our heads as though it were a token of their righteousness, without even doing their research on the history of political lesbianism and refusing to acknowledge how many straight and bi women have coalesced under the label “lesbian” as an act of separating themselves from men instead of as an act of loving women. political lesbianism has hardly ever been about true lesbianism. and this belief that all lesbians are transphobic, and by extension that all lesbians are cis, is such a deeply flawed perspective to have. so many lesbians are trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer. why do you think slurs like “dyke” get hurled at lesbians and trans people alike? hint: it’s not because we have nothing in common. but because so many peoples kneejerk reaction to lesbianism is the assumption of transphobia, trans lesbians get erased, invalidated, talked over, and told that they’re “traitors”. it’s lesbophobic and transphobic and i just wish people would use an ounce of critical thought when interacting with lesbians and in conversations about lesbianism.

Trans Inclusive Radical Feminism; aka Radical Feminism
"Trans-exclusionary Radical Feminist" (TERF) is at its core a misnomer. Terfs have at best taken liberal, choice feminism and perverted it to be right-wing (see JK Rowling's tory political opinions) and trans-exclusionary. The closest terfs get to radical feminism is lesbian separatism - which is honestly a niche and minority opinion within radical feminism.
If terfs ever did read radical feminist theory, they would find it wholly different than there values. Often, terfs will say that while gender is a social construct, sex is not, and therefore sex based oppression exists. While reproductive oppression does exist and largely impacts AFAB individuals, the dichotomy of gender and sex is absent from radical feminist theory. Gender vs. Sex is a mainstream, choice feminist construct that oversimplifies the trans existence.
Famous radical feminist figure Andrea Dworkin was undoubtedly a trans ally:
The discovery is, of course, that “man” and “woman” are fictions, caricatures, cultural constructs. As models they are reductive, totalitarian, inappropriate to human becoming. As roles they are static, demeaning to the female, dead-ended for male and female both. The discovery is inescapable: We are, clearly, a multisexed species which has its sexuality spread along a vast continuum where the elements called male and female are not discrete.
Dworkin does not state that gender is a spectrum while sex is an binary - but that the concept of man and woman, whether as a gender or a sex, is a fiction.
If you want to be trans-exclusive, at least don't pervert the words of trans-inclusive radical feminist thinkers.
