Trans rights to me? It's almost like, VOTE OR DIE. That's what it's becoming. Vote or die. Respect existence or expect resistance.

I did an illustration for Trans Day of Remembrance today at work.
Our little community contains so much anger and grief, but it's because we love each other so fiercely. We remember our dead because their memory keeps us stubborn.
I love all of us today, and I hope you do too.

Meet the King of Clubs, the trans pride knight! The blue flowers are forget-me-nots, a symbolic reference to Transgender Day of Remembrance. The butterfly on the shield speaks for itself I think. Thank you all for giving feedback! The Pride Knights Playing Cards, art prints and uncut sheets are now available for pre-order here: prideknights.com ⚔️🌈

I've always been better with drawings than words, but today I want to try to express my thoughts and open up to you.
Today we “celebrates” the #tdor , Transgender Day of Remembrance, where we remember our trans siblings who lost their lives to discrimination and transphobia. We are here to remember their names even if we have never really known them, we get together and remember them to ensure that what happened to them never happens to any trans person again.
I'm tired of hearing about trans people tragically losing their lives, I'm tired of being afraid of coming out because I don't know who I have in front of me, what could happen if this person reacted badly. I am lucky enough to have my family and friends next to me, but unfortunately I am a lucky case not as common as it should be... I want to be close and hug all my siblings who have no one next to them, tell them that they are strong and that I will be there even if there are seas and mountains to divide us, but unfortunately my voice will never be strong enough to reach everyone.
I thank those who support me and those next to me, I hope that sooner or later these victims will be just a painful memory of a hostile past towards our community and that, in the future, the list of names will no longer grow. I love you, rest in power my friends ❤️🏳️‍⚧️

for trans day of remembrance, im remembering corei williams. he died in october and while i never knew him, i talked to his mom a few times on twitter. she suffered relentless abuse after making a post to inform family and friends of his death and didnt expect her post to make any traction. i almost went out like corei did when i was his age and im lucky i didnt.
to every trans teenager: you are valuable, you are beautiful, and you are loved. dont let anyone take that from you.

THE BOOK IS A GO!
Transgender History out 2025
Good morning—GOOD NEWS! Going on 2 years ago, I published my article in Scientific American about #transgenger + #hormone history 🗃️🧪🏳️‍⚧️. I finished the book in Oct, and my editor just wrote to say she loves it and it will publish next winter!
This book almost didn’t happen. It was so hard to write. It *hurt* to write. Watching the news and reading history, it felt the same—rise of fascism and attacks on minorities and LGBTQ. But it’s done, it is written.
THE INTERMEDIARIES tells the story of that science—itself often strange and remarkable—as well as the man, his band of revolutionaries, and the Institute for Sexual Science, both center of the homosexual and trans community and base of operations for the first LGBTQ rights movement of the 20th century.
Sexual and gender nonconformists, what Hirschfeld called the intermediaries, had a right to live, a right to thrive. They also had a right to joy. Science would lead the way, but this history unfolds as an interwar thriller—patients and physicians risking their lives to be seen and heard even as Hitler began his rise to power. They faced abuse, blackmail, and political machinations; they responded with secret publishing campaigns, leaflet drops, pro-homosexual propaganda, and alignments with rebel factions of Berlin’s literati. It’s a story about pioneers. And about hope.
And it all started here:

Can I do one of those sappy "highlight/visibility" posts? It's not my usual vibe, but this is my first transgender day of remembrance since starting HRT and coming out to a few friends, and it has me feeling some kind of way.
So here's to the trans people that didn't "know they were different" from day one. The ones that don't have the stories about playing with dolls, or monster trucks, or wearing clothes atypical for their AGAB. The ones who took their first doses of estrogen and didn't have an immediate parting of the clouds, or lifting of a fog, but rather started a journey.
The trans people that had a growing seed of discomfort and no words to describe it. The ones with the vague horror of inhabiting a body that was betraying them but didn't know in what way. The ones that may have dissociated to cope and buried it deep.
The ones who are fighting and navigating through it now. The ones who are still unsure to take that first step.
The ones who figured it out on the other side. The ones who had to chisel and create who they were. The ones with a complicated relationship with their actual gender in addition to their AGAB. The ones who created who they are, and came out as a happy, loving person, despite not feeling like their identity was "defined" somewhere internally.
You are not alone, you are loved, and you are supported. You *will* make it, and you will be happier for it. You are welcome in this community, no matter what. You have the right to discover yourself. Your pain is real, but your identity is too. Every trans experience is different and beautiful in its own way.

Here is the composition for the King of Clubs, the trans pride knight! 👑 ♣️
Tumblr media
Clubs feature a flower theme. We want to add forget-me-nots wrapped around the sword as a symbolic reference to Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Tumblr media
And we are also thinking of adding a blue butterfly perched on one of the pink flowers adorning the shield.

It's that day again this year. Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Tumblr media
Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day to memorialize those who have lost their lives due to transphobia.
According to a survey compiled by TGEU, between October 2022 and September 2023, 321 trans and gender diverse people were murdered worldwide. 94% of the victims were trans women or trans femmes. In terms of occupation, 48% were sex workers, and 7% were artists and performers. In terms of age, 45% of the victims were 30 years old or younger. 28% were murdered on the street and 26% were murdered in their own residences.
However, the demographics of murder victims are often not reported in detail, and there are no official statistics. It should be noted that the above figures are based on information gathered by volunteers from around the world, and that the actual number of victims may be even higher. Also, the figures do not include those who have been pushed to suicide.
