Trans Remus headcanon:
He's excited and nervous for Hogwarts because no one knows his dead name, he gets to wear the boys' uniform, and he gets a room in the boys' dormitory but he dreads someone finding out with all the hospital visits after the full moon and of course, changing in the boys' dormitory.
A couple months in and he's having the time of his life. No one mistakes him for a girl, Madam Pomphrey is overwhelmingly understanding, his roommates know and still roughhouse and joke with him and nothing's changed, Lily is helping him research spells and potions to help him feel more like himself.
But then he watches as James and Sirius try and sneak their way up to the girls' dormitory, slide down, and have Lily explain that 'you're idiots, boys aren't allowed up the girls' stairs,' and his heart falls to his feet.
For the first time, Remus breaks curfew and sneaks out of his dormitory that night. He cannot control his inner panic as he makes his way to the Common Room and braces himself for the climb. He takes a step, and then another, and then the stairs even out and he slides back down the staircase.

@ficwip's word this week was Mirror, and rather than reblog it with a single line, I thought I'd do a longer snippet for the word.

The door cracked open, and messy black hair led into the room as James peaked around the door. Sirius couldn’t help but smile when he saw James. “There he is, man of the hour!” James came in, then stopped with a hand to his chest like he’d been pushed back. “Oh, excuse me, your majesty. Man of the century, and may your reign be long and prosperous.”
Sirius snorted. “Shut it with that bullshit. I’m not king yet.”
“Right, not until next week.” James strode up and stood next to him in the mirror. “Gotta get you wed and bred first.”
Sirius groaned. “That’s not better.”
James smiled at his reflection. “Not untrue, though. Have you met her yet?”
Sirius shook his head. “Mother didn’t want me to see her beforehand. Something about good luck.”
“Mate, I think they did that when they married kings off to the ugly daughters,” James said with a laugh.
Sirius pulled at his sleeves. “I think it’s more the ‘she’s not a he’ aspect of her existence that Mother thinks I’ll most object to.”
“Sure, but you know that without seeing her, right?” James turned to face Sirius directly rather than through the mirror. “She must know that you’re aware you are going to marry a woman.”
“She is, but I think I’m expected to bolt if I know her ahead of time.” He shrugged again, but didn’t turn away from his reflection. “It doesn’t really matter, though. Mother made it clear that she won’t support my marrying a man.”
“I know.” James placed a hand on Sirius’s arm. “I wish it was different.”
Sirius turned to James with a tight smile. “Such is the life of a King.”

Prompt: Trans Remus (wolfstar)
Remus watched as Sirius entered their dorm and flopped down next to him on the bed. This was getting more and more normal with every passing day. The feel of the weight of his boyfriend next to him comforted him more than anything. A hand slid up his back as Remus dropped his book and looked over at Sirius.
“How are you?” He asked, looking down at the dark eyes that all Black family members sported.
“Bored,” he admitted. “And I could not stop thinking about you.”
“How so?” Remus laughed softly.
“I was thinking about how much I wanted to touch you, kiss you, and be close to you,” Sirius said leaning up and getting closer to Remus.
“Oh…” Remus said getting slightly uncomfortable with this and pulling back.
Sirius watched not knowing entirely why Remus always seemed to get uncomfortable with close contact. This was not anything new and he had always been too afraid to ask why. Sirius did not move any closer as he watched Remus carefully.
“That is if you want me to,” he added not wanting to push Remus.
“It’s okay,” Remus said leaning forward and gently placing a kiss on Sirius’ lips.
Sirius took this opportunity to lean in slightly and run a hand into Remus’ hair, receiving a small moan in response. The kiss started to deepen as Sirius leaned even closer, their breathing getting faster before the kiss broke. Sirius did not wait long before leaning in and kissing Remus again, pulling him closer than he had the last time. Remus tensed up yet again and Sirius could tell this which caused him to break the kiss.
“Remus, what is wrong?”
“I…” he simply said getting nervous as he looked at Sirius. “I think I need to come clean with you.”
“Let me guess….” Sirius said pulling back and looking him in the eyes. “You are not interested in me and have been using me.”
“Sirius, it is nothing like that.”
“Then why do you seem to always pull back and tense up every time I kiss you?”
“You have to promise me you will not say a word to anyone. Not even James.”
“Sure,” Sirius said, irritated by now.
“I’m trans,” Remus said softly causing Sirius to look at him confused.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
“But you do not look… female…”
“Yeah. There is a spell on me so I look male.”
“How long have you known?”
“For years now. Before I got my letter,” Remus admitted. “My father was very accepting and helped with the spell. Dumbledore knew about this as well and promised to keep my secret. He agreed that once I could keep up the spell, that I would. I have been doing it this year myself and that is what made me uncomfortable. I am afraid that…. I would not have it right and when we kissed or you would press up against me, you would figure it out.”
“Are you going to shy away if I touch you?” Sirius asked watching Remus shake his head no.
Kissing him gently, Sirius let one hand slide between Remus’ legs and caress him. As Sirius did this, Remus’ eyes went wide with shock. Sirius broke the kiss with a smirk.
“You feel the same as me,” he grinned causing Remus to smile. “Now can I please continue?”
“Yes, but if I ever don’t get the spell right…. Will you tell me?”
“Absolutely, unless we both agree otherwise,” Sirius agreed.
“Deal,” Remus said pulling Sirius against him and kissing him deeply, just as he had done so many times last year.

It’s fourth year and the marauders have started sneaking around Remus.
Remus, as insecure as he is, assumes they have finally grown bored of him. After all, how could he not assume that.
They’d started making plans without him, purposely leaving him out and messing up all his clothes in his wardrobe.
He’s absolutely devastated, which leaves him confused when Sirius wakes him up on his birthday, claiming he had a gift for him.
All the marauders are crowding around his bed as Sirius holds out a package, which appears to be…
A binder?
“Happy birthday moony. We wanted you to feel comfortable in your own skin, so we pitched together to buy you this. We even asked my uncle about it all, since he’s like you.”
“What, why would you… I though you’d given up on being my friend. Why’d you mess up my wardrobe if you still tolerate me?”
At this Sirius looks sheepish,
“We weren’t quite sure what size you’d fit, so I had to rummage around to find your shirt size. And besides moony, we don’t tolerate you. I think I speak for all the marauders when I say we love you.”
And with that tears well in Remus’ eyes as he finally feels accepted as who he is.

Remus opened his eyes, and a soft light came in through the windows of his room.
No, not Remus’s room. Sirius’s room. He’d slept in his husband’s chamber after their wedding, at his husband’s allowance.
He turned to look toward the other half of the bed, where he still lay sleeping. Sirius slept on his back, face soft and unburdened. He was beautiful. They would paint portraits of him that would hang around the castle, and people for generations would think of how beautiful he is.
They would see Remus in some of those paintings too, probably. What would they say about him?
