From an early age, Shockwave had been fascinated by cloning technology; in the past, Exarchon had used his fascination with this forbidden science to deliberately lure him over to the Threefold Spark when the mad warmonger attempted to conquer Cybertron, and their joint experiments yielded Soundblaster and many Skywarp clones.

In the immediate aftermath of the battle of Darkmount, which ended with Optimus Prime and many of the Autobots fleeing Cybertron aboard the Ark, the Decepticons turned their attention to imposing some kind of order in the territories they controlled. However, Megatron’s nascent movement lacked the manpower they required to effectively maintain martial law, and the Decepticons had suffered heavy casualties in the final battle against the Autobots. With the Pyramid out of commission, Megatron ordered Shockwave to reactivate his mothballed cloning program in the hope of mass-producing a temporary wave of “stopgap soldiers” until the Decepticons could return the building to functionality.

With the assistance of Soundblaster, Shockwave returned to his laboratory and embarked on a fresh wave of cloning experiments. In addition to creating a new cohort of Seeker clones, he obtained samples of Blaster’s CNA and used them to produce “Twincast”, who would hopefully support Iacon’s communications facilities; further experimentation yielded “Magnificus”, a scientist who emerged from his cloning chamber with all of Perceptor’s theories and papers pre-loaded into his mind and was tasked with restoring the Pyramid to full functionality. However, while Magnificus was content to be a loyal cog in the machine, Twincast quickly grew beyond his initial programming and came to doubt his place in the Deception war machine. Before long, Twincast abandoned the Decepticons and vanished from the grid, using his own subsonic signals to mask his energy signature; when he next surfaced, it was as a member of Elita-1’s resistance movement, where he helped to battle the tyrannical order he’d been created to uphold.

have you ever made designs for if kaycee became obsessed with one of the other scrybes and became like them (little wizard kaycee for mags or robot/cyborg kaycee for p03 stuff like that)

oh someone asked smehing similar before, yea this is a concept i want to visit!

if we're talking about physical transformation i think the tough part is coming up with a reason Why its happening to her with the other scrybes. with Leshy there's the whole being-around-a-leshy-turns-you-into-one thing, she cuts off parts of her body as a game mechanic and grafts animal parts to her, which segues into Werewolfisms, etc.

the theme of sacrifice does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to her drifting away from humanity, so much so that her being beast-aligned has become a fundamental part of her character in my interpretation... BUT that makes it very fun to come up with alternate timelines where she became 'buddies' with a different scrybe and how things would go down!

i know for a fact she'd easily go insane in a world where Magnificus took over (we're assuming he intended to use OLD_DATA to make a game and not pull off world-ending shit. and kaycee would make a mod rehauling the mox system). it wouldnt be a stretch to say Magnificus would try to pull off some kind of experiment on God if he met her face-to-face. maybe not to the degree he does with his students but.. subtly?

hey! good question! the short answer is yes!

the long answer: any ‘Bot that can transform technically has the ability to combine with any other ‘Bot. The very first combined pair was the fusion of Megatronus Prime and Solus, called Solaris Magnificus, performed at the guidance of Nexus Prime (Nexus himself would go onto create a combiner team of his own during the first Cybertronian War, though he was famously beat out by Prima’s engineered combiner team, Computron).

Although any pair or group of ‘bots is capable of combining, the act itself is a lot riskier than it may seem. To combine successfully two ‘Bots have to be extremely in sync; if their Sparks are not aligned in the process, they run the risk of essentially tearing eachother apart, especially in the more involved fusions. It is uncommon for “natural” occurring combiners to exceed teams of 2 or 3 for this reason.

Combiners have been historically divided between “natural” combiners, ‘Bots who fuse spontaneously, and engineered combiners. Engineered combiners are usually teams of ‘Bots who train with eachother closely and have their physical bodies modified so they can combine with eachother consistently and tactically. Though the risk of complications for these teams is much lower, it is not impossible, which makes maintaining a close relationship with all teammates important. With proper guidance, these combined ‘Bots are often extremely effective combat units.
