my parents dont get my autism or my transness or my aroaceness
they dont get that im not trying to be rude or selfish or whatever but they think i am
they dont get dysphoria
they keep asking me if i have crushes or a boyfreind
they dont get that if the foods bad ill refuse to eat it
they dont get sensory issues or food issues
they dont get that the internet is a safer place to talk about my emotions than they ever will be
they dont get how much effort i put into trying to be normal for them
they dont get anthing
they keep trying to force me to spend time with them playing board/card games which i hate and they know i hate
they keep messing up my pronouns
one of my dads "insprational" speeches was your not flat, you'll never be flat so give up.
when i first came out my mum said "why cant you just be a lesbian instead of nonbinary or whatever?"
they say i cant call myself trans bc i don't want to be a boy
they dont get how much periods suck even tho they dont hurt
theres probably more but i cant remember it rn
any advice would be helpful
maybe ill run away and live somewhere better for me but i can think of a place
hey anon. unfortunately im not sure how to help you with the autism or aroace stuff myself, even though i am aroace and autistic my mum doesnt really understand either of those and i havent been able to reach that point yet. we have just taken to not talking about it, which is much easier now that i have moved out.
however! i do have something for you that might help! i made a powerpoint about transness for my mum that did help to convince her that being trans is a real and valid thing to be.
i cant link to it on here because it would reveal my full name publicly but you can just make your own! i included facts about the percentage of trans kids that experience anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts, and how gender affirming care significantly lowers those numbers. all of this was taken from the trevor project website!
i also included some stuff about transgender people across history and in different cultures.
i finished it off with a slide about the transgender genocide currently taking place in america and spreading to the UK.
you could make versions of these for autism and aspec people too!
im very sorry that you are experiencing so much invalidation and misunderstanding from your family, i understand how that feels. i hope this technique can help you to teach them a bit about your identities. most of the time when people say mean things about an identity, it is simply because they are misinformed. getting angry and upset is perfectly understandable, but it may make them feel even more antagonised and justified in their bigotry. explaining things to them calmly and simply, with graphs, diagrams, and real data can work wonders.
good luck!

anyways reblog with your favourite gay moments, and perhaps quotes, from your favourite gay classic literature bitches
things i'm already putting in:
hamlet/horatio. i have lots of evidence for this one.
andrei/pierre warandpeace but like. i need quotes for them because i don't remember any specific ones
enjolras/grantaire les mis yk. i have a few for them but like. not a lot i don't think?? i haven't read the brick so
guys i'm pensive about putting in:

i WOULD put raskolnikov/razumikhin crimeandpunishment but i um. haven't finished crime and punishment either
edmund kinglear transgender. the powerpoint is focusing on homoeroticism SPECIFICALLY so that's prolly why he won't be on there

NRCB's Writeblr Intro!
Hey all! My name’s Rene and it’s about time I actually introduced myself, huh?
I’m a transgender, neurodivergent writer from the Metro-Detroit area. I love writing fantasy, slipstream, magical realism, and poetry, and I love reading those same genres (if your story has dragons, giants, and/or bug-based characters/races, hmu!) I tend to world build a lot, then pants a plot that takes place in that world. I’m always interested in being tagged in tag games, and if you’d like to be added to my tag list, please let me know!
You’ll find my stories chock full of:
queer relationships between men
rampant optimism
ridiculous concepts taken seriously
questions about religion, purpose, existence, etc.
character-specific motifs
dramatic irony
mild horror
My interests include:
writing, of course! Ooh, and editing!
video games (LoZ, Terraria, Bully, SDV, Subnautica, FF1, 6, and 9 just to name a few of my favorites!)
tarot
religious studies
roleplaying
beading
making playlists/moodboards/anything about my characters!
Stuff about WIPs under the cut!

Together, the two of them resolve to try to break the spell over New Royston, but a variety of adversaries, from supernatural forces to the town’s political machines, stand in their way.

Darius had been one of many ordinary people pulled into Ashur’s world from his own—and at the nick of time. The portal had been his only way out from the law after exacting revenge on his parents’ murderer. But Ashur’s world wasn’t exactly a paradise either.
Still, faced with the threat of being sent back to the exact moment of his capture, Darius must find a way to get along with the ruler of this world—a powerful, god-like entity with an affinity for scorching sunlight, an insatiable hunger, and a magical mastery over flesh. And Ashur, in turn, must find a way to get along with this human who seems to nitpick every single one of his ethical decisions. But the vast differences between the two of them may just come in handy when its time to confront both of their pasts.

I used to put up with your panphobic posts but I can’t anymore. Can’t you just fucking let us live? I used to id as bi but didn’t like how the label enforces the gender binary so I switched to pan and people immediately understand my sexuality now, no more feeling like I have to give a PowerPoint presentation to every person I come out to explaining the specifics of my attraction. Even if bi and pan DO mean the same thing, pan is a more modern and inclusive word so what’s the harm in just using pan instead of bi? It’s like how transv*stite used to be the correct term, but now it’s transgender. Bisexual used to be the correct term, but with our modern understanding of gender, the correct term is now pansexual. It’s not biphobic, it’s not erasing or invalidating bisexuality, it’s just an updated term.
Okay biphobe

No parents of an actual 13 year old girl would allow a hospital to use them in promotional material while they were dressed in a small black dress with cutouts and fishnet stockings.
A video of a young trans-identified teenager is sparking controversy on social media for depicting a 13-year-old dressed in provocative, sexualized clothing as part of an official promotional video for the gender clinic at Chicago’s Lurie Children’s Hospital.
The child, identified as ‘Jupiter,’ uses they/them pronouns and can be seen speaking with a clinician named Natalia, who asks how adults, and parents in particular, can be more accepting of “gender diversity” and develop an “inclusive environment” for trans children.
“I think that one thing that should be explained to a lot of people is that you’re never too young to know about this kind of stuff,” Jupiter says, referring to gender identity.
“I feel like it’s something that people should be taught especially at a young age because it’s easier to learn that way, and that way it’s something you’ve always known.”
Netizens were quick to point out that the youth featured in the interview was wearing highly sexualized attire, with many expressing concern that the outfit would not be considered suitable for a 13-year-old. During the interview, Jupiter appeared to be wearing a black micro-dress with cut-outs at the waist, fishnet stockings, and fishnet gloves.
Tumblr media
Others noted that the adult medical professional appeared to be constantly deferring to the child’s advice and recommendations on matters related to gender identity. During the course of the brief 4-minute conversation, Natalia repeatedly allows the 13-year-old Jupiter to guide her on terminology and explanations regarding “gender diverse” people.
“You don’t turn trans, you discover that you are trans. I was mainly around cisgender and straight people when I was younger, and that did not turn me cisgender and straight. The people you’re around don’t make a difference on your own identity,” Jupiter states.
“A lot of people think, ‘[If] my kids are going to be around trans people, they’re going to want to be just like them.’ Maybe it’s a good thing for people who don’t know that they’re trans to be around trans people so that they can get that advice.”
Another video uploaded to the official Children’s Hospital of Chicago channel features a conversation on “gender fluidity” with a young woman who uses the name Bonsai and prefers “all pronouns.” Bonsai speaks with a man named Laurence, who is identified as a former student of the Chicago Public Schools system.
“With this gender fluid identity, within a day, you can easily experience three, four, or five different gender expressions … and that can end with people using different names or pronouns,” Laurence says.
Bonsai responds by claiming that “my gender changes from time to time,” and claims that her “identity had been very mixed up in high school.”
“I came out at first [and] thought I was a lesbian. Then, I went to [bisexual] … and then I started to question my identity. Who am I? I can’t explain it … and I’ve totally accepted it at this point,” Bonsai says.
Both interviews end with an acknowledgement of ‘special thanks’ to the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) system. CPS was criticized earlier this year after implementing a required teacher training program that declared sex a social construct and threatened punishment if faculty didn’t use students’ preferred pronouns.
The training program included a 104-slide PowerPoint presentation titled “Supporting Transgender, Nonbinary, and Gender Nonconforming Students,” which claimed that “everyone has multiple, overlapping identities” and that sex is a construct assigned at birth.
Another section of the presentation explicitly forbade teachers from informing parents about students who begin to claim that they are actually the opposite sex, declare a “gender identity,” or begin using different pronouns.
The videos, which are promotional resources for the Potocsnak Family Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, were created and published by the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, which operates a clinic for “gender expansive or gender non-conforming children.” According to their website, Lurie Children’s Hospital consider “children and adolescents who exhibit behavior that is not typical of their assigned birth sex” as possible “patients” in need of medical intervention.
The hospital also receives substantial funding from members of the Pritzker family.
Tumblr media
The Pritzkers are one of the wealthiest families in the United States, with an approximate net worth of $15 billion.
Jay Robert “JB” Pritzker is the current governor of Illinois and the richest politician in the United States. Penny Prtizker served as U.S. Commerce Secretary under President Obama from 2013 to early 2017. Jennifer Pritzker, born James Pritzker, is a trans-identified male who has donated millions to advance “transgender studies.”
Feminist researcher Jennifer Bilek has written extensivelyabout the connections between the wealthy family, heirs to the Hyatt hotel fortune, and the vast sums of money they have invested in “[normalizing] the idea that human reproductive sex exists on a spectrum.”
According to Bilek, trans-identified Jennifer Pritzker established the Tawani Foundation, which has provided significant financial donations to Howard Brown Healthand Rush Memorial Medical Center in Chicago, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Foundation Fund, and the University of Minnesota’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Health, all of which provide some version of “gender care.” In the case of the latter, “clients” include “gender creative children as well as transgender and gender non-conforming adolescents.”
This I kid is being exploited in so many ways. But if he chose his outfit without prompting then it is any trans person who equates womanhood with sexy clothing.

Closing the Gender Gap in STEM
I came out to my coworkers on October 23rd, just about a year after I first considered the fact that I might be transgender, a month and a half after my first dose of HRT, and a day before my 28th birthday. I had talked to my bosses a couple of weeks earlier to bring them up to speed, and they were absolutely wonderful in letting me direct how I wanted to let everyone know. My company suggests opening every staff meeting with a safety briefing and a diversity message, and I had decided that I would stand up and speak to the team during one of those, but hadn't decided if I'd do it in the next meeting, or push it off a bit.
I attended a Halloween party on Saturday the 21st (more on that later), and the next morning, I texted my boss and told her that I needed to say my piece during Monday's meeting. She immediately agreed and updated the Powerpoint slides for me.
I showed up to work on Monday, and wrote. I put in my headphones, and let it all flow. After half an hour, I stopped, took a second to edit the clumsiest bits, and then headed to my staff meeting. Below is that writing, more or less exactly how I presented it, with some edits for privacy:
"Good morning everyone. Apologies for reading off my laptop, I had to get my thoughts written down to make any sense of them
To get straight to the point, for the last several months, and from here forward, I have been making and will continue to make changes in my life to live as a female presenting person. A trans woman.
My original intention was never to make it a big part of my work life, and to never do anything like this, but for a couple of reasons, in the last several weeks I've had a change of heart
First, in this environment of the increasing politicization of transness, I feel that I owe it to myself and to the LGBTQ Community to live my life authentically: for my own sake, to honor those that have come before who were not given the opportunities that I have, and to those that will come after, and deserve to see representation in engineering, and in the communities I move in in my personal life
Secondly, however, is a much more practical reason. Over the last year or so, I've changed little parts of my gender expression, in growing out my hair, or painting my nails, things like that. To this point, it's been easy enough to hand wave those away as being a quirky guy, but over the next months and years, these changes will be a little harder to explain away.
In the last decade of my professional experience I've amassed quite a collection of polo shirts, and while I don't plan to throw them all out tomorrow and change my wardrobe overnight, maybe over time they start to get retired and replaced with something else.
Similarly, as I start hormone replacement therapy, the timeline I've been given is on the scale of months and years, rather than days and weeks. I don't know when you all would have started to notice things naturally, but after only a month I've already noticed my skin softening, and am working on feminizing the characteristics of my voice
Eventually, when I'm ready, and I've had a version of this conversation with the other teams I work with, I'll reach out to HR to change my name in the system, and take care of the paperwork details on [COMPANY'S] side
So, regardless of the speed of my personal ramp plan for my launch, whether it's a change in my appearance, my outfits, or my name, I figured that all of you would figure it out eventually. Knowing that, I reached out to [BOSS] and the supervisors to put this little introduction together, so that I could put everything on the table now, rather than putting it off and waiting for the awkward questions in 6-18 months when I can't pretend it's not happening anymore
With that said, however, I expect that there will be plenty of questions, awkward or otherwise. I want to express now that I will be a totally open book if you have any questions for me, and I have already spoken to your supervisors (and [LGBT COWORKER]) to empower them to be someone you can go to if you'd rather not bring things up with me directly.
At the end of the day, I'm still going to log in to work every day and continue to spend time with the [CONFIDENTIAL] programs, and to work with all of you. I am confident that, perhaps after a short period of awkwardness, it'll be like nothing ever changed. I'll still be tall, a little awkward, and just as bad at fantasy football as I've always been. I'll just look a little different
Thank you all for giving me a few minutes of your time. I'm going to hand things back to [BOSS] to finish the staff meeting, but as I said, I thoroughly welcome conversations with each and every one of you (directly or through your supervisors) if you have anything you want or need to discuss"

Here we go
Here's the first chapter for anyone who wants to read it.
Chapter 1- The Beginning
Renwick sat in the front of the classroom taking notes as the end of his seminar neared. He knew that soon he would have to go to work, and after that, he would have homework. He could not wait until it was time for bed. It had been a long day, having his first day of classes, and knowing it would not be over for hours, he sighed. His professor, Doug, dismissed the class, but not before announcing there would be a quiz tomorrow. The class let out sounds of indignation. As he stood up and began packing his things, he surveyed the room. There were werewolves, fairies, vampires, humans, shapeshifters, merfolk, hybrids, etc. He finished packing and headed to his last class, keotune history.
He walked down the hall and searched for his class, glad that most of them were on the first floor. He stopped, turning to look at the class labeled Room 15. He mentally cheered for himself at finding the class with such ease, and before the professor shut the door, signaling that class had started and that anyone else would be late. He walked in a took a seat near the front, but off to the side a bit. The professor, a young woman looking to be in her 40s walked over and shut the door, clearing her throat.
“Good morning! My name is Marie Raglow, and I will be your planetary history professor. However, please, just call me Marie. Now let's begin by going over the basics of what units we will be studying this semester.” She turned, taking the remote off her desk and turning on the projector, a powerpoint popping up on the screen. The first slide was titled in big bold letters;
The History of Our Planet
Professor Raglow
“First,” She began, clicking a button as the slide changed,” There are some major events leading up to our planets habitation. Those would be the environmental collapse, the creation/exposing of magickal beings, and the finding of a new planet in our solar system, that being our now home planet Keotune.”
Environmental collapse
Creation/exposing of magickal beings
Finding of a new planet in our solar system, keotune
“Second, would the rebuilding of life here on Keotune. This will be a big unit as there is much to cover. However, I will go over the basics today so you know what to expect. There was the excavation and construction of waterways, and the testing to make sure Keotune would be safe for all beings, magickal and not. There was the discovery that, at Keotunes core, there is not only magma but a condensed ball of pure, unending magick, generated and fueled by the planets decomposition process. The nutrients go through the soil all the way to the core, where they are absorbed by the magick. There was the transition and moving from one planet to other. And the construction of homes, schools, and businesses. Pretty recently we have engineered robots that perform certain tasks we living beings cannot, such as constant surveillance of the streets to correct crime and long transportation of goods. Lastly, we have the discovery of an overabundance of eco-friendly materials here on Keotune. There will be a quiz tomorrow. Class dismissed.” She concluded. Renwick stood up, having finished packing his things, and gassed himself up, walking towards his professor.
“Um, excuse me, Professor Marie? Can I please speak to you about something important?” He asked as the last student filed out of the classroom.  She turned from powering off the projector.
“Of course, dear, what is it?” She asked kindly. He took a deep breath and began.
“I'm, um, FTM transgender, and was wondering if you could address me as Renwick and use he/him, instead of my deadname?” He paused, nervous. She smiled politely.
“Absolutely, my dear. And anytime you need anything, or someone messes with you, you just come tell me, and I will handle it, OK? Transphobia will NOT be tolerated at this university.” She said, and he nodded, turning around and leaving the classroom. He entered the hallway, walking down it and exiting the building. He sat down on a bench, taking out his lunch, which consisted of a o-neg blood pouch, a raw turney and cheese sandwhich, and some beef jerky. He was raised Asthiest, but upon discovering the internet and being introduced to other religions, decided he was christian. It was then that he had realized that he would have to find a way to balance his religion with his needs. He had thought about it long and hard, and decided that since e he was being offered blood and wasnt hurting anyone, that he wasnt committing a sin. This was especially true as he wasnt even drinking directly from a human, he was drinking the blood from a pouch. He also found that he could sustain himself with animal meat, which ment he could drink less blood. Not only that, but he could also do the same thing with animal blood. Human blood was just sweeter. He also found that he would get more nutrition when he ate the meat raw.
Once he finished eating, he threw away his trash and grabbed his things, striding over to the bus stop, and sitting on the bench. While waiting, he put in his earbuds, and opened Spotify. He clicked on his metal playlist, which he titled Metals and Minerals. He started jamming out to Scissorhands as the bus arrived. He stood, stepping forward and hopping on the bus. He walked to the back and sat down as the bus began moving. Eat Spit came on and he looked out the window, heading for his job.
He worked at a bakery called Bake Your Day. He actually kind of liked his job, as he mainly worked in the kitchen and didnt really have to talk to people. His main responsibilities were cleaning the bathrooms and basically the whole store, washing dishes, stocking, taking inventory, taking the goods to the delivery trucks when they arrived, and building the special boxes the deliveries came in. The bus came to a stop and he climbed off, walking down the street to his job. He took out his earbuds as he opened the door, putting them in his bag. As he walked in, his boss greeted him. "Good afternoon Renwick! Please just put your things in the breakroom. Then, the bathrooms could use a cleaning, deary.” Miss Marjorie greeted. His boss was a thin, fairly fit elderly lady who didnt take shit from anyone. He liked her fiery spirit. “Yes ma’am. He replied, heading to the break room. He set his backpack down and took out his hat, as the bakery rules required all staff wear a hat or hair net during their shift. He then walked into the hallway, grabbing an apron and the cleaning materials out the closet and getting to work.
“Whew!” He exclaimed, plopping down in a chair in the break room, having finished his work. He took out his phone for a minute, checking his feed. He scrolled, realizing he was about to get too absorbed, and decided to put his phone away and get ready to go home. After all, it could get dangerous after the sunset. He grabbed his jacket and put it on, gathering his things and heading down the hall. He walked out the side door and out into the cool, spring air. He made to his apartment, and, while walking, he came to a fork in the road. Since it was getting dark he decided to take the shorter route. He went left, and as he rounded a corner her came to a stop, He heard something. He turned his head to the left and peered into the alleyway. There, he saw a robot officer attacking an angel and a demon. He watched as the robot picked up the two and slammed them on the ground.

His professor, Dong, dismissed the class, but not before announcing there would be a quiz tomorrow.
“Good morning! My name is Marie Raglow, and I will be your planetary history professor. However, please, just call me Marie. Now let's begin by going over the basics of what units we will be studying this semester.” She turned, taking the remote off her desk and turning on the projector, a powerpoint popping up on the screen. The first slide was titled in big bold letters;
He took out his phone for a minute, checking his feed. hallo! i recently came across your post about coming out via powerpoint presentation, and it really struck me as it was the first time i saw a way that i could actually conceive coming out to my family. i'm considering making a similar powerpoint and maybe eventually using it to come out, and was wondering–if it's alright to ask, completely fine if not–what you included in your powerpoint, or if you have any tips? (would prefer if this was answered privately, if that's okay)
I'm so glad it inspired you! :D And for sure, I can share the text. CW for some cis-centric ways of describing being transgender as well as discussions of dysphoria.
I'll put in some footnotes with commentary/explanations/advice! :D Imagine all of this with over-saturated backgrounds and corny slide transitions/effects.
I started with "guess what day it is?"/"Trans Day of Visibility" slides and then a title page that said "I'm trans! by Charlie [Last Name].
Slide 4: Transgender (adj.): denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex*. • My birth sex = female • My gender = nonbinary • Q.E.D. I’m trans
*I wouldn't use this language to describe my gender to other trans people, but I've found it's a decent way to describe it to cis people who are open to but not particularly educated about trans topics. If your family knows more or less about being trans, you should adjust as appropriate. Talking about assigned sex at birth is another possible route.
Slide 5: Nonbinary gender is an umbrella term to describe any gender identity that does not fit into the gender binary of male and female. (dictionary.com)
Slide 6: Aren’t you a lesbian??* • Yep! Still am! • I still feel an affinity towards woman-ness, and I still only like women, and that pretty much makes me a lesbian. • This isn’t actually a new concept! There are lots of nonbinary lesbians. • Leslie Feinberg (writer/activist, 1949-2014), Maxine Feldman (singer, 1945-2007), Jamie Wildman (1950-2020) Ruby Rose (actor, 1986-)
*Obviously this slide (and the last) depend on your specific identities. I wavered for a while on whether to include an explanation of "nonbinary lesbian," but I eventually decided I may as well try to explain. Verbally, I included something like "it's okay if you don't understand how it works, you just need to know that it's how I understand myself."
Slide 7: So, uh, gender dysphoria* • Gender dysphoria: psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one’s sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity (psychiatry.org) • Can be social (being seen/addressed as a certain gender) and/or physical (discomfort with one’s body) • Medically/psychologically different from body dysmorphia— not about seeing your body as wrong but feeling uncomfortable with parts of it • Can shift in intensity & type, different for everyone
*My experience of being trans has a lot to do with my dysphoria, but this may not be true for you — if you're less dysphoric/not dysphoric, you might want to lean more on explanations of euphoria (see slide 9).
Slide 8: Because of my identity/dysphoria, I’d like to… • Be exclusively called Charlie* • Use they/them pronouns** • Be referred to with gender-neutral terms (daughter < child, sister < sibling) • Maybe pursue top surgery (am discussing with therapist) — currently I bind my chest occasionally (and safely!)*** • Maybe change my name legally?
*Charlie was my nickname since I was a child, so I didn't have to come out with a totally new name.
**Depending on your pronouns and your family's level of knowledge, you may have to spend more time explaining this; mine were already somewhat familiar with they/them pronouns.
***Again, you may need to explain things like what surgeries entail and what binding is in more detail. On the other hand, surgery talk can be heavy sometimes, so I opted for a quick explanation (ex. "top surgery flattens the chest to look more masculine") with more discussions to come later. I also wish I had mentioned the possibility of testosterone at this point; I really wasn't sure about it then, but it would have saved me another conversation.
If you are going to go into detail about surgery & testosterone, I'd recommend showing them pictures (if appropriate) of healed surgery results and/or HRT transition timelines, because many cis people have no idea what they look like, and that was definitely a source of worry for my parents before I showed them pictures. Things like charts of the effects/timelines of HRT, as well as stats on the satisfaction rate with trans-related surgeries, can also be super helpful.
Slide 9: Because of your dysphoria? • Yes • But also because of euphoria • When people call me Charlie, when they use they/them, when I bind my chest, etc. — it just feels right • Like getting a warm hug • Like when someone you admire talks to you for the first time • Like coming home after a long day • It’s good!
Slide 10: FAQ (Frequently Anticipated Questions) Q: How do you know you’re trans? What if you’re making a mistake?* A: I’ve talked to a lot of trans people and my experiences line up pretty well with theirs. I’ve been thinking about this for a long while, wondering if the feeling will go away, but it hasn’t. If I realize that I was wrong, I’ll let you all know! With permanent decisions, I’m taking lots of time to make sure I’m making a rational, thoughtful decision.
*In my first drafts, I was much more ambivalent about this answer, saying that I wasn't 100% sure if I was trans, just pretty sure. At a friend's recommendation, I decided to go into this a lot more confident, in order to reassure them. I think that was the right decision; there's time later to discuss my doubts, but doing so right out of the gate would have only made them more worried. Obviously, though, you know your family best!
Slide 11: FAQ continued Q: How long have you known? A: Hard to say! It’s been a long process, but maybe a few years? I’ve experimented with they/them pronouns on and off for the past 5-6 years, I’ve actively preferred the name Charlie since I was in middle school, and I can first remember experiencing body dysphoria around that time, too.
Slide 12: FAQ continued Q: Is this because you dislike your body? A: I dont think so. I’ve really increased in acceptance of my body in the past few years. There’s no part of it that I hate — I think I look great — but even some parts I love don’t feel right.
Slide 13: FAQ continued Q: Who knows? Who can we tell? A: My friends know, as do some people at work. Please feel free to tell anyone — it makes it a lot easier on me.* But I also don’t anticipate that everyone’s going to be good about it right away, and that’s ok.
*My parents actually sent my powerpoint to some of my aunts & uncles, with my permission, and that was really useful!
Slide 14: FAQ continued Q: What happens if/when we use the wrong pronouns/name? A: What’s most important is that you try. If you get it wrong, you can just correct yourself and keep going. I’ll try to remind you when you get it wrong. It’ll be a learning curve for all of us!
Slide 15: In conclusion • I love you all • Sorry if people can’t see you anymore • Because you’re trans-parents!
I hope this helps, and good luck coming out to your family <3 Feel free to copy any of the language, and if you have any other questions or need a pep talk, feel free to message me.

‘Fragile Masculinity,’ a digital self-portrait triptych
I wanted the images to be very cohesive and work together as a triptych. I wanted to create that cohesive appearance by utilizing similar colors and overall subject matter. My concept for this piece was use Greek statues blended with images of my own face to create a narrative around the subject of transgender men and “the ideal man.” The color scheme is blue, pink, and white – which represents the colors of the transgender pride flag. The Fear and Euphoria statues both have blue bases and a slightly darker pink neon frame, and the Broken statue has a pink base with a whiter neon frame. I chose to make the neon frames all arched, referring to the usual triptych frame shape. The neon choice was done specifically to blend modern times and the past with the Greek sculptures.
Overall, I wanted the statues to be able to open up and explore the narrative of life as a transgender male, how everyone’s journey is different, and our emotions and responses to them are diverse just like the people who make up the community. I do feel like the interpretations of the emotions and the statues are each represented well while maintaining a cohesive composition when placed together.
In Depth Conceptual Analysis:
The Fear statue has one arm up shielding the face referring to a defense position as if being attacked for being who they are (subtle top surgery scars are visible) but also could be interpreted as looking to the future with uncertainty. For transgender individuals emotions fluctuate constantly between excitement and fear, and the future is one of the many scary things about transitioning. Unfortunately, there are not very many older trans men, so it is almost impossible to imagine what your future will be like. That uncertainty creates a very deep fear
The Broken statue is a bit of a dichotomy as well. It could be interpreted straightforward as broken, empty, and hollow. However, there on the other side of the spectrum there is also some piecing yourself together - becoming the person that you have always known you were.
The Euphoria statue like the other two, has a dual intended meaning. The top surgery scars are prominent on the chest and the glowing eyes can be interpreted as happiness building up. Another interpretation is that the glowing eyes are pink, referencing how people will continue to see you as female no matter how much you change about yourself. For my personal journey, I did not begin my transition until I was around 24 years old, I spent my entire childhood, teens, and early adult life being perceived as female, experiencing life, and being socialized as a woman. I do not feel that I need to erase that part of me, or be ashamed of that part of me – for me the glowing eyes represents the strength of the woman I was to become the man that I am. For some transgender men it could represent the attempt to hide a part of them. I chose to use a Greek Statue that did not have the arms, to reference the constant reminder of the parts you do not have. Sometimes euphoria reminds you of the things that make you dysphoric.
Design Brief:
For this project, you must create three separate images that are self-portraits. Each of these images should reflect a distinct emotion such as anger, fear, or joy. How you do this can vary greatly. You can use your face, different body parts, props, or perhaps objects that are metaphors for you. The subject matter can overlap, change scale, and be seen from different orientations or viewpoints. Backgrounds, middle grounds, and foregrounds can be manipulated digitally or manually. The style of the imagery can change from portrait to portrait. For example, would flat graphic shapes of value or color or blurred edges of realistic shapes best convey a particular emotion? Please view the PowerPoint of self- portraits and portraits to see examples by various artists and how they use the formal elements to help convey particular emotions. Research self- portraits by Rembrandt, Robert Mapplethorpe, David Hockney, Kehinde Wiley, Jenny Saville, Frida Kahlo, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, and Chuck Close to gain knowledge of how form and context informs content.
You should consider how the design elements (line, value, shape, texture, pictorial space, color) and principles (pictorial balance, rhythm, focal point, movement, contrast, repetition) will help create a formal composition that conveys the specific emotion you are trying to convey.
Technically, you will have to demonstrate a variety of Photoshop applications to achieve your desired effects. Among these, but not limited to could be: saturation and desaturation of color, modifying of edges by blurring and sharpening, adding texture, modifying values, and adding lines.

u got any lgbtq+ hcs for any of the main 12 adventure and 02 kids?
🤔 Hmm...
Now Anon, I’m warning you: I’m probably not going to give you what you want for this. But I’m going to try.
I REALLY HOPE I DON’T FUCK THIS UP, FRIENDS *stressing out a bit I will not lie*
LGBTQ+ Headcanons for 01 + 02 Gang
Tai [Taichi]
Doesn’t know the meaning of the word “straight” except in terms of line segments in math (but even then, he’s a little lost)
He probably saw the pride flag for the first time when he was 14 and because it reminded him of the Crests thought, “I CAN GET BEHIND THAT”
When he learned the real meaning of pride and the LGBTQ+ community, he was even more ecstatic
Has definitely beaten up some homophobes before
And transphobes
He’s beaten up a lot of people in general
Realized after a while that he’s pansexual himself and started painting his face with the pan flag everyday
Will not deny that he has a thing for Matt and Sora at the same time and is happy if they’re happy but would really like to kiss them both pls
Matt [Yamato]
He most certainly questioned his own gender for a while, though he can’t pinpoint when it started
Gabumon told him it didn’t matter what he identified as, they’d always be partners anyway, so that really helped him a lot
It also helped that Tai was willing to beat people’s asses for him
Has also beaten up some homophobes and transphobes (Tai has been the one to drag him away from some fights)
Wears pins of all the pride flags at all times because fuck you haters
Also would like to kiss Tai, just like once or twice or a million times
Identifies as bisexual most likely
Sora
Doesn’t mention it a lot, but Mimi was probably her first kiss (by accident...OR WAS IT?)
She was the type of person who, because she grew up in a very hetero-normative world, wasn’t sure what it meant to like a girl
Probably asked Tai when she was 15 and still thinking about Mimi’s hair and lips when he explained to her that it was perfectly normal
She never forgot that conversation
Has continuously questioned her identity and orientation throughout the years, though only Biyomon has been privy to this struggle
Finally settled on saying she’s queer because she’s not much for labels (especially when she’s in a constant state of questioning)
Definitely asked Mimi to kiss her again just so it wouldn’t be an accident
Izzy [Koshiro]
Always a kid before his time, knew how to explain all aspects of pride to everyone else before they even knew what the LGBTQ+ community was
Has PowerPoints to make things clearer
Around age 17 or 18, he started asking that everyone use he/him or they/them pronouns, and this hasn’t changed since
Everyone said “a’ight” because they love him no matter what
Has always had some kind of romantic feelings for just about everyone in the group, but nothing beyond that
This poor sweetie pie cried the night he realized he was asexual and called Joe, who said in the most intense voice he’d ever heard, “You think that matters to us? We love you, Izzy, and don’t you ever forget that”
Has decided Joe is the coolest guy ever
Started some social media account where it’s nothing but pictures of Tai with various pride symbols painted on his face and it’s blown up
Mimi
Unlike Sora, she didn’t think much about the kiss
She had already accepted that she liked girls by that point
Definitely had a crush on Yolei too, though she played it cool
YOU CANNOT TELL ME SHE DIDN’T CONSIDER MEIKO HER TRUE LOVE
Teases Izzy a lot because she has a bit of a crush on him too, though this confused her because she thought she liked girls
The day she learned the term homoflexible she thought she was dreaming
But she wasn’t
Still, Sora and Yolei and Meiko are her girls and she loves them very dearly
Has the same enthusiasm as Tai and paints the various flags on her face as well (became part of that social media account Izzy started)
You can catch her and Tai at a pride parade screaming at the top of their lungs
Joe [Jou/Jyou]
I’ll admit, he’s probably the token straight? But he’s also one of those guys who’s not afraid to tell Matt he looks handsome today
Has needed to ask Izzy a lot of questions because he’s like me and wants to know and not offend anyone because he’s ignorant or doesn’t know something
Had a moment similar to me where he wondered if he really was straight
Decided he still was, but would support anyone and everyone because that’s just the guy he is
You know how he becomes a doctor? He most CERTAINLY helps with transitioning whenever he can because he’s a GOOD. DOCTOR.
Doesn’t beat up haters, but gives them a death glare that’s just as effective
Wore around a rainbow doctor’s coat because he COULD and no one tried to stop him because they knew he’d quit on the spot
Takeru [T.K.]
Been the guy to say “respect LGBTQ+ rights or die by my sword” or something like that
Lowkey had a crush on Angemon and Angewomon simulanteously and could NOT for the life of him explain why that was
Never told either of them this though
Or Kari
Definitely didn’t tell Kari
Okay yes, Tai is his big brother, but he definitely had a crush on the guy for about 2 weeks before he met Kari and everything changed
Hasn’t told either of them this
Like Sora, has only said he identifies as queer - he’d like to figure it out/delve deeper but is too busy flirting with everyone to care
Brings 5 different dates to his brother’s concerts at the same time and they all have to vie for his attention - it’s usually whoever says the most positive things about his brother
Has done at least 6 drag shows so far and let me tell you - KILLS IT every time
Kari is his forever girl but keeps winking at Ken just to make him blush
Kari [Hikari]
Also had a crush on Angewomon like how could she NOT
Also had crushes on Matt, Izzy, Mimi, and Sora (but not Joe for some reason)
When she realized her feelings for T.K. she got really really nervous (because of all his dates, you see)
Was also confused because she was pretty confused about her range of crushes over the years
Tai came out as pan to her first and she realized that sounded a lot like her
She’s a pan baby and she’s proud of it (and thanks her brother for supporting her)
Gave a rainbow pin to T.K. for his birthday and in return he kissed her
They go to ALL the pride events and nothing can stop them
Occasionally uses they/them pronouns on days she’s questioning
Davis [Daisuke]
Tai was his first love and you cannot change my mind about this
Meeting Kari was like meeting a Tai Who Would Notice Him and that was pretty rad
But he also likes her because of her, too
The world kinda stopped when he met Ken, though
Like damn, look at those soccer skills
I’m gonna be real, I think Davis is soccersexual (or footballsexual for non-Muricans)
Them soccer players be really hot though
Always has questions about the community, but never retains the answers
The PowerPoints, unfortunately, do not help
Eventually gave up and said, “I’M A DUMBASS BUT I SUPPORT YOU ALL”
They tried to tell him he should at least know what he’s talking about
(We’re still working on that)
Wears rainbow shirts with rainbow pants and it’s very atrocious but very appreciated
He is gay. He sometimes does crimes. We accept him anyway.
[T.K. asked him if he wanted to go to a drag show, he said “okay?” and really really loved it now he goes all the time]
Yolei [Miyako]
Mimi is hot, Ken is hot, Kari is hot, Matt’s kinda hot, everyone’s hot
She’s never been able to fully accept this because how is everyone so hot
Mimi was her first love, and Ken was her first boyfriend
She never forgot the firsts
Attracted to any and everyone it seems
She likes to call herself a frying pan and it makes everyone facepalm a little bit
Constantly dresses in the colors on the pan flag because she looks GOOD in them and it’s a way to remind everyone not to mess with her or her community
Tries to pretend she doesn’t know Mimi and Tai when she’s at a pride event and they’re out here acting like fools
But she also loves how unerringly supportive they are
Cody [Iori]
He was the first one everyone came out to, like for some reason he’s that guy
Literally the first person to offer you support
One day he told everyone he was transgender, and while they were surprised, they also didn’t react the way he was expecting
They actually hugged him immediately and said, “But don’t worry we love love love you” and Tai started painting the trans flag on Cody’s face until Cody said, “Guys please fuck off for a sec”
When he becomes a lawyer, he becomes the type of lawyer to defend anyone who was arrested on basis of race/identity/orientation/gender like the boss he is
Suspects he might be ace but hasn’t really delved into it much
He’s too busy scolding Davis for doing dumb things
Ken
Can everyone stop being hot for a sec? -direct quote from Ken himself
He’s in love with all the 02 kids and he’s accepted this
Yolei somehow stole his heart, but T.K.’s winks send it aflutter
He wants them both to stop (but they won’t)
Was completely unaware that Davis also liked him (even though it was really obvious?)
He identifies as bi and, like Izzy, uses they/them pronouns interchangeably with he/him
One of the good detectives on the force. Will bust your ass if you say any offensive slurs about anyone. [Has gotten suspended a few times for doing this BUT IT WAS FUCKING WORTH IT.]
Always the one on duty when Davis gets arrested for his crimes and it’s hecka exhausting
---------
Uhm... did I do good? I’ll admit, I was a little nervous since I myself am straight and cisgender (or cishet, as I’ve learned is the term)  😥  😥
Anon, I really do hope I did a good job!
And if I didn’t you can roast me in the flames of Meramon Hell

Early psychology classes are 300 students that don’t speak the entire lecture, deviation from the PowerPoint only when the prof is talking about their Educational History or their Previous Jobs.
And early gender studies classes are like
*lecture where we only discuss sexism related trauma* *Queer discourse* *student that is more Woke than the prof and wants everyone to know* “Biological theory of gender—“ *sounds of muffled anger* *older professor says transgendered* *at least 1 week of unnecessary debate/arguing* *trauma dumping* *class is centred on yt women but we mentioned south Asian women and watched a Black women’s ted talk and someone said Indigenous methodologies once*
And early english classes are like
*the one guy that won’tshutthehellup* “Ok guys so, race is not ~real~” *2 lectures to unpack that* *critical theory* “This is a little… abstract…” *Edgar Allan Poe* “The first half of the course is a summary of your english classes from grade 8-12. The second half will cover Marxism, feminism and critical race theory in two weeks. The exam will be an essay on Ye Olde Poets poem “sex metaphor” or “probably about sex but worded weird” 1000 words, 2 hours.”
