Salut!

"hey i worry that even with trans healthcare i still won't be happy with my appearance"
every medical system in the entire fucking world apparently: "hey don't worry, we're not actually going to give you the most basic level of transhealthcare anyway. You will be on our waiting list until the heat death of the universe. it would probably be most efficient to just die right now"

Every year on November 20, Transgender Day of Remembrance reminds us of the transgender and nonconforming community members we have lost to violence. Gwendolyn Ann Smith organized the first ceremony on the one-year anniversary of the murder of Rita Hester in Boston, on November 28, 1998, just days before her 35th birthday. Her killer(s) have never been caught, and not enough people know who inspired TDOR.
Between October 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020, 47 transgender individuals died in the United States (that we know of), and 386 worldwide; this includes death by violence, by self-harm, those who died in ways yet to be determined and sadly, this year, from COVID-19. You can find their names at this link:

Cool beans so I did understand that long document.
Found a source from a health news site that breaks down what the trump administration's new ruling overturning section 1557 of aca entails.
https://www.kff.org/disparities-policy/issue-brief/hhss-proposed-changes-to-non-discrimination-regulations-under-aca-section-1557/
This is about trans rights, reproductive rights, and the rights of linguistically diverse residents. The ruling is set to go into effect in August. Fuuuuuck Trump and all his cronies!!

On episode 106 of @americansexpodcast @calliegetsit of the @queersplaining_ podcast has a candid conversation with us about her experience with bottom surgery.  She shares a snapshot at life leading up to surgery including establishing her trans identity. Then Callie takes us step-by-step through the physical & mental prep, recovery, and the procedure itself. During the two years that followed, Callie learned that reclaiming her sexuality with her new vagina was multi-layered–it affected her marriage, her relationship with her body, and sex from a psychological perspective. Although it isn’t typical (or expected) for trans folks to openly talk about their genitals, having these conversations is important to Callie. This information can be reaffirming and necessary for those that opt for bottom surgery and are rediscovering their sexuality.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Get the episode here (link in bio) http://sunnymegatron.com/callie-wright-bottom-surgery/⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Or find it on Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or wherever else you get your podcasts. ⁣Please subscribe so you never miss an episode! itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/american-sex/id1269884261?mt=2 ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ #podcast #SexPodcast #Podcaster #Podcasting #PandoraPodcasts #americanfucker #AmericanSex #sexpodcasts #sexpodcast #queersplaining #calliewright #transgender #bottomsurgery #nonbinary #lgbtq #transrights #transhealthcare #gender #transactivist ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ https://www.instagram.com/p/B3uch4fp_s_/?igshid=17qumclghbr78

Next month, I will finally be getting trans-affirming surgery. I am doing a fundraiser to help cover the costs of surgery and recovery. Many artists and writers that I love and admire generously donated posters, books, broadsides, zines & more to help raise money. Having access to trans healthcare is an essential part of my liberation. Please support in whatever way you can, whether by sharing the campaign, donating, or taking care of the trans people in your own life, including yourself. Also, if any trans people have questions about navigating surgery, I’m happy to share what I’ve learned. The fundraiser only lasts 30 days and can be found at https://igg.me/at/hmelt. #transhealth #transhealthcare #transaffirmingsurgery #transcrowdfund #transsurgery #transcommunity #transfortrans #t4t https://www.instagram.com/p/B4uy6cfFR6aE2yVyNP0ZYs6vixgFYDKFH1h7Zw0/?igshid=glps7q61wotz

Hello
I'm a 24 year old queer cis girl in the UK and my partner is trans.
We met in 2012, got together in 2013, married in 2017 and she came out as MtF in about November 2017. She is still pre-transition and only out to a handful of people.
I've never really considered myself straight and so it's not an issue for me overall. I love her with all my heart and I'm with her for this journey, that doesn't however mean that it's not really difficult and a struggle to get through sometimes. Transhealthcare in the UK is bad. Really really bad. She's currently ~10 months into a 24 month waiting list for any gender related help, therapy included and that means for the most part we've been just struggling along with this ourselves. It can feel really isolating more and more difficult the longer you go with no support what so ever.
I made this tumblr as a place to vent and discuss what it's like and the things we're going through. There's always plentiful support out there for transpeople when they need it but next to nothing for partners so I hope this might be easily found by others who are looking for someone else in a similar situation. I'm not a big Reddit fan so although the r/mypartneristrans sub exists I find it difficult to get into or get any support from. I am part of a discord server which was born out of that sub but recently I've found it harder to share anything there, perhaps I'll go into that further later down the line. If anyone is interested drop me an ask and I can link you.
So, welcome. We're here, and we'll get through this. Together.

THOR (Transgender Healthcare and Organising Resources) is a new collective for transgender people to share resources for activism and healthcare.
We aim to make a home for simple, accessible resources for trans people. Being a trans and/or nonbinary person is a lonely uphill struggle against the system – let’s make it less lonely. THOR wants to do more to fill the gaps and create radical, organised networks to spread information and connect international trans communities.
Ask us questions or submit us things! THOR is looking for:
Opportunities, jobs, scholarships, and activist initiatives for trans people
Personal experiences, strategies, events, and celebrations from activists
Up-to-date logistics of social and medical transition around the world
Simple summaries of useful legal, medical, and media information
Compilations of widely used resources for trans people like financial aid, healthcare providers, social networks, clothing shares, and legal support
DIY and how-to tutorials for trans media people, activists, and healthcare providers
Please signal boost widely. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
