n*tflix teen coming of age series where a side character with two lines of dialogue gets expanded on in a separate novel and becomes one of the most popular ships with the main character. or something
For a man who says he’ll just be lazy and do absolutely nothing, Cale does WAYYY too much lmao
Like in the start, there’s a scene where he is being sent to a festival, even though his younger bro (Basen) was supposed to go to it originally. And he really doesn’t want to go, and he thinks to himself that if he starts acting up, he won’t be sent there and will get to relax
But then he’s like:
“ Ok, but if I think about it, the festival is dangerous. If Basen dies there then he won’t become the next Count, and if that doesn’t happen, I won’t get to relax. And also, while I’m at the festival I can go on [insert 3 more convoluted side quests] to collect ancient powers. And then I can use these powers to laze around and relax. So if I really think about it, this is all necessary if I want to relax ”
And then he never ends up relaxing cuz he’s constantly busy 😭
His biggest ‘problem’ is that he cares ‘too much’. He says he doesn’t, but he’s in denial almost. He cares, which is why he keeps putting everything else above his own comfort. Buying cakes, pasta, and steaks for On & Hong was because he did care. He told himself “Oh, it’s just cuz I don’t want them to annoy me”, but no, he had no reason to go the extra mile just for that reason, especially cuz buying those sweets and meat meant he was probably making more trips up and down the hill 🤧
But okay bbg, whatever you say goes ❤️😮💨
“Trust me ya’ll, this is all for my rest”
My man, you have not slept in 3 days…
Do you have any webcomic recs for something that is similar to Lout of Count's Family or When the Third Wheel Strike back?
Besides Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint you mean? Of course! If you haven’t read it yet, go read S-Classes That I Raised. It means everything to me and I rambled a little more about it on my writing tumblr here.
Otherwise, I binged The Second Male Lead Is Actually A Girl today. I was searching for a webcomic with a trans isekai protagonist (yell if anyone got a red for me!) and stumbled upon this one. Here, our lovely protagonist is reincarnated as the bastard daughter of a duke. Given that only sons can inherit, they use magic to present male. They become friends with the actual male lead and the villainess as children, changing the course of the story before the novel’s supposed plot starts.
What I really appreciate about this story was the friendship between the three, reminding me a lot of TWSB and thus reccing it here, even though it doesn’t really fit the genre. I think you’ll appreciate the characters! Also the gnc of our protagonist, who doesn’t so much seem to mind being seen as a man as instead forced to wear a glamor to hide their actual appearance. Also our bisexual emperor, grappling with internalized homophobia of being genuinely in love with his male best friend.
Also it has super funky magic and curses working through the power of speech. You can always get me with that.
Rereading "Trash of the Counts Family" for the ten millionth time, and once again I'm so miffed when Cale uses the fire power for the first time and is surprised that there's a ginormous recoil.
Like babes. The Cheapskate literally told you there'd be pain. And you start bringing up blood and bile when using your shield a little bit. What did you expect? Come on 😭🫡
btw this is NOT done all from scratch. i did a sketch in 3d mode, did the lineart in regular mode, then deleted the sketch part (bc it acts as a separate layer)
