in my ideal world there was a second yj98 spinoff comic that ran in 2003 called "saint elias" that is gotham academy-esque and followed the adventures of newly-humanified greta and recently-retired anita as they joined saint elias school for girls alongside cissie and traya

For day two, Bart just won the Young Justice chess* tournament!! Traya came in second and Slobo came in third. Full tournament lineup and chess* headcanons under the cut

Welcome to my yj chess headcanons:

1) what YJ calls chess is actually 5 dimensional chess with multiverse time travel. They just call it chess. They have sort of forgot the regular version exists. (I am, however, a fake 5d chess fan: it languishes in my steam library, intimidating, unplayed)

2) tim discovered it and got them all into it. They like it varying amounts:

Bart: undisputed reigning champion of 5 dimensional chess with multiverse time travel. Loves this game.

Cassie: has the basics down and does fine vs other folks or the game ai. Hates the game. Must be tricked into being competitive about it to make her join in.

Tim: was excited about the game and got v into it v intensely as he does. Burnt himself out on it a bit. He's pretty good but doesn't know if he loves or hates the game. Will get hypercompetitive about it tho.

Kon: good at it pretty naturally because he's used to thinking in multiple dimensions (been flying since day 1) but he can psych himself out second guessing his moves. Likes playing the game, can get competitive.

Greta: good at the game because she has so. much. free time. Can get tunnel focused on it and doesn't mind losing as much as the others, so can play against bart for hours and hours. Always up for a game, enjoys it.

Cissie: good at it pretty naturally, but doesn't have strong feelings about it. Plays mostly with Traya because Cassie really doesn't want to.

Traya: v good at it, and really likes it. Plays with Cissie at school and also Red Tornado a lot. Prolly can beat Bart maybe 1 in 5 times?

Anita: wasn't sure about it but got hypercompetitive about it and is now pretty good. Likes it now that she's good at it.

Slobo: also v good at it! Its similar to some space games prolly, and like kon he's v used to thinking in multiple dimensions. Doesn't get as competitive as some of the others which really gets them steamy when he beats them.

Ray: Newbie player who got thrown in the deep end. One day YJ was like, let's have a chess tournament! And Ray was like, oh okay thats a wierd thing to do out of the blue but I can roll with that I know chess. He did not know chess. Still learning but getting the hang of it. Now has a fear response to it tho.

3) they play online w each other all the time but every now and then have tournaments when they are all hanging out. They used to just do a winner plays next round sort of thing but it always just ended up w everyone losing to bart all the time. Tournament winners get favors and tournament losers have to do dares.

4) bart plays with his civilian friends too!! They are varying levels of into it but I think Carol likes it a lot.

5) one time Ra's al Ghul challenged tim to a game of chess and when he got sat down at a regular chess board he was just like.......whet is this.... and completely blanked on the rules to regular chess

Ohohohohoho i will >:) i always need an excuse to talk about this made up little show >:)

So i dont have all day so I'll definitely do each season in its own post but heres a more in detail description:

I'm going for a vibe somewhere between Teen Titans (the 2003 show) and The Owl House if that makes sense, very true to the comics. The show starts with the team already established (not just the core four or the six from the first part of the run, all eight of them) The series premiere opens with Red Tornado yelling at them for being stupid while they are completely ignoring him and Traya is the only one kind of listening while drinking a juice box (yes shes here too im a sucker for teenagers having a fourth grader following them around and not being mean about it) Then in the middle of the lecture, the Justice League comes in and gives them what they think will be an easy mission. It is, but in typical yj fashion it doesnt end up that way. Over the course of the first three episodes, they fail to complete the mission and instead end up in space, in a dance dance revolution tournament against hermes himself, fight each other at least once, Kon brings up his ttk thirty four times, and they set at least one thing on fire.

I will elaborate more in a little bit once im on my computer, i just woke up and my phone is a nightmare to type on. Anyways does anyone have a billion dollars to give me so i can produce Young: Just Us

The Young Justice comics are so frustrating timeline-wise because all their adventures follow one after the other. Like, they go fight a brainwashing children’s show cult, then when they come home Red Tornado is in court to get approved for custody of his daughter because her mother is in a coma, Fite & Maad show up because they predicted RT would fight the police when custody was denied, the team sneaks in with civilian disguises to break RT and Traya out of the courthouse, then while escaping the courthouse the Super-cycle phases them through the Earth’s crust far enough that they end up in a cavern where some dude made a knock-off hell, and the team proceeds to fight Supergirl and trash a random small town while being controlled by some succubi, they fight a bunch of demons because hell is freezing over, then when they come home from THAT, they find that Secret is frozen solid and Harm randomly attacks them again, and while half of all that is happening Red Tornado is in jail and a bunch of really old Golden Age sidekicks are manipulating the local government to stop Young Justice from being a thing. I don’t even know where to start with trying to match that to 1) a reasonable timeframe for those events to be happening in and 2) where they fit with the events in other books

continuing my young: just us bullshit because i have four seasons already fully outlined :)

Season two opens a few days after season one ends, and theres still no sign of Secret, who they now know was a thirteen year old girl named Greta Hayes (greta definitely had the vibes of someone younger than the others). Tim is on a call with Oracle trying to see if there's any sign of her when Anita bursts into Mount Justice with news: Greta is in custody of A.P.E.S. So of course, being them, they immediately break into a government facility to break her out. And on the way out, they run into someone that causes them so problems: Agent Donald Fite. Anita's father. So, to get away, they cause an explosion (read: slobo and bart) and break out of the hole in Mount Rushmore.

Episode two is that one issue where in universe cocomelon brainwashes children into killing their parents.

Episode three is the continuation of episode two, where the team decides to mettle in red tornados life and help him get back and commit a shit ton of crime. Anita is once again in so much trouble.

Episodes four through eight are focused on old justice, it's pretty much like it was in the comic.

Episode nine is the most important episode of the season: Unstrung. The kids are hanging out together but when they drop cissie back at her school, she sees what happened and she is pissed. She gets her bow and just starts running after them. Hunts them as if for sport. And just when she's about to make the final move, kill them, get her revenge. Kon catches her arrow. And he tells her to think about it.

Episode ten picks up where episode nine leaves off, kon telling cissie to think about it. and she does. when she realizes what she was about to do, she runs from the woods and Kon runs after her. They sit together in the dark for a while, Kon holding Cissie and telling her everythings going to be okay. He doesn't believe it. They go to cassies, they try and cheer her up, it doesn't work. Cissie resigns. And on the way out, she kisses Cassie instead of Tim.
