When he's mad

He'd be very passive-aggressive.

However, he's not toxic.

He wouldn't try to manipulate you into apologizing or anything.

If he knows he's in the wrong, he'd apologize.

Sometimes, it'd take him a hot minute to realize, so just be patient.

He doesn't express his emotions to you very often, at least not negative ones, because he can be a little insecure.

He worries that if he does show you his 'broken' side, you'll leave him too. (Don't even try and tell me this boy doesn't have abandonment issues. 😤)

After an argument, he'd walk away and disappear for a while.

Though, once he comes back, he'd feel bad if you worried about him.

He'd rarely lash out at you, but he has his moments.

He'd feel bad after, especially if you start crying.

When he [or someone else] makes you cry

He'd become stiff if he made you cry.

Would feel really bad and would do anything for your forgiveness.

Would treat you as if you were a rare diamond, close to breaking.

He'd be even more soft towards you.

Soft kisses on the cheeks, long hugs, gentle touches, etc.

He wouldn't automatically attack the person.

He'd probably give that person a death glare... (Aka, that's the only warning that person's getting.)

Mostly, he'd tell you to forget about them and that they aren't worth it, especially if it wasn't the first time this person/creature made you cry. And if they did care, they would have apologized already.

There would be times when he was close to fighting them; however, you or someone else would most likely stop it... (especially if his adventure to Treasure Planet hasn't started yet- you wouldn't want his probation to be extended, or worse... him ending up in Juvenile Hall.)

Though, don't get it twisted, this boy would fight for you. Especially if you got kidnapped or hurt. However, he'd most likely use his hands as his last resort.

He's smart enough to defeat people/creatures without having to touch them~

His love language

Small gestures all the way!

If you and he were to be doing a job together, he'd make sure he'd do most of it. (That way, you wouldn't be so tired.)

He'd remember every important date. (That's how you know he's serious about this.)

He'd remember the little details about you- like how you like your coffee in the mornings.

Or he'd buy some groceries for you if you forgot/got too busy/ was too stressed to realize. Just so you'd have a less stressful time.

Even if you'd never realize.

He likes to think of himself as your secret hero.

Apart from the day-to-day things he'd do to help you, he'd also be your personal handyman.

You wouldn't even need to ask.

If your sink was busted, he'd fix it.

If you mentioned you always wanted a solar surfer but never had the time to buy one- he'd make you one right out of the blue. He'd even teach you how to use it if you never rode one before.

PDA

His favorite thing to do is to simply hold you.

Whether that's a hug or handholding.

Just touching you in some way.

Loves kissing you, though he'd hold back if you two were in public...

He wouldn't want to get you or him into trouble... Especially if you guys attend Interstellar Academy.

Most importantly, he wouldn't force you to do anything you're uncomfortable with, even if that's with him.

Conclusion

He genuinely loves you and feels as if he doesn't show it enough.

Sometimes thinks you're too good for him.

Calling him the perfect boyfriend would be extending it to a degree... But he is one of the better ones because he is willing to change and grow in your relationship.

He might have been a little immature (if you two started dating at a young age), but he is grateful you stood by him in the end.

Honestly, he sometimes questions why you even bother with him...

But, in the end, he thinks he's the luckiest guy in the world.

There’s just something so fulfilling about the scene transitions in Treasure Planet. They hit every single one out the park.

Starting with the pirates pouring onto a cruise ship and then little baby Jim peeks up, looking at the holographic ships in awe and we see it’s an interactive storybook? Beautiful.

Zooming in on little Jim and then flashing 12 years forward to him solar-surfing with the narration and the music building? Magnificent.

Doppler stating their plans to set off and gesturing to the crescent spaceport and the camera following through the window and taking us straight to the spaceport? Effervescent.

Silver’s eye glinting and then fading into a star and we dip right into the music montage? Stunning.

Every single beat in the song! Trading between little Jim and present Jim and the rug spirals out into stars and his dad didn’t care about what he tried to show him but Silver marvels at the knot he tied so well and then and then the part where his dad leaves but Silver returns! I mean!?!! come on!

I love Treasure Planet.

What if Treasure Planet was a musical?

Since the film has a steampunk style, I think the music would be a blend of old sea shanty's and techno pop music, combining the two genres. So with all of the songs here I wanted the music hooks and chorus to be reminiscent of sea shanty’s

These songs also musically have the theatrics of a musical theatre album (such as having quintets, duets, and group numbers)

having the songs be sea shanty’s that metaphorically turn into musical numbers is a framing device for this story that makes sense to me

Here are some song ideas

Song 1 Warning in a Fable: The Opening Number, where Jim Hawkins mom recounts the tale of the treasure being hid on treasure planet

Song 2 We’ve got a lead: A song from jim when he learn the person looking for the map has a silver hand this also means they finally have a lead on the mystery of what is going on with the treasure

This is the big opening after the prologue opening where after the first verse we see everyone at the dock prepare to embark on the quest now that they have have the map (Captain Amelia and her crew and the villagers bidding farewell are all here)

Doctor Gilbert is the first person after Jim to sing a verse and he sings the majority of the song (although everyone besides jim is unaware of the warning and are just focused on the journey to treasure planet)

(John Silver reprises this song when he reveals himself to be the true captain of the ship).

Song 3 I Run a Tight Ship: This song is when John and Jim met and John assigns Jim to do chores around the boat, and we learn about his plans when he communicates with his crew. Song 4 How to put a story in the sky: A song between John Silver and Jim Hawkins's where they are reading the constellations, and while they do it, they are both bounding over not knowing about their full family and feeling like they are left out of their constellations

but they are looking forward to how they will form their own constellations once they find the treasure.

Song 5 All hands on deck: This is the song led by Captain Amelia, where they are trying to avoid going into the back hole.

The song becomes a quintet between the sailors. After the second verse, Jim views this as his moment to prove he's in the group (he here is framed to look like he failed to secure one of the crew mates), but this also causes fear for John since he's on the opposite side but still has to pretend he's helping the crew.

Song 6 The silver lining: a song for John Silvers crew where they are singing a toast to their captain and Jim Hawkins is eavesdropping.

This song hurts Jim since he's finally finding out the first person he had faith in was really a crook.

Song ? Rattle the stars: I think this phrase would have to be the big finale of the show, where it starts off soft with Jim and John both saying goodbye to each other, and then the chorus goes big when Jim goes home.

I just watched Treasure Planet (2002) for the first time... and holy shit was it good

I figured it would be one of those cheesy pirate movies where they kidnap a child to work on the ship, but the way they portrayed Jim and Silver's relationship was so cute!!

I never really thought I'd like the movies growing up, but since I wanted to watch something different, I chose this and it was a wise choice!

Anyways, I wanted to know something based on you Disney fans!

Twenty Years ago Ron Clements and John Musker gave us a masterful film at the time 20 years into it’s own creative thinking. Of course we all know the tragedy that is this film’s cult following, A wonderful timeless film about found family, the joys of space and the sense of adventure that the original Robert Louis Stevenson gave us all those years ago.

Rattle the Stars is a fan project webcomic series based on the plot of the original canceled sequel . Some of you have seen Breadsword’s “Treasure Planet’s - Disney’s Biggest Mistake” That came out back in 2017 (very good watch) and know the sadness that comes with realizing that whether intentional or not, the corporate ladder in some way failed this movie and let it fall into obscurity when it deserved much more for the effort the production went into it, from music to art to animation to story.

So I felt it fitting to announce my project publicly and start working in earnest on the 20 anniversary of one of my favorite films. If you’d like to support me while I take on this project you can donate to my Ko-Fi.

In the RLS legacy, there's only one bathroom...

Do understand that you are a cabin girl, meaning you don't get the specialty of having your own room even if most of the crew members are male.

Now, you weren't the only female crew member; there was the captain who had her own bathroom and one other female who didn't have genitals... or a body for that matter- you weren't really sure how she worked...?

In the end, it was honestly just too uncomfortable for you to change in front of your crew mates, even if they were changing with you...

It didn't help that you found a certain crew member cute... Honestly, you were pretty sure he felt the same way when it came to changing clothes since you never really saw him when everyone else was changing.

Now some may say the trip to Treasure Planet was a short one, but quite frankly, it wasn't. At least not for you.

It took about a good couple of months, maybe even more. (It was actually said to be like 7 months, I think- I can't remember, but Doppler said it in the movie)

And as the only female HUMAN on board, mind you, you were at the peak of your prime; being a raging hormonal teenager, you needed certain supplies every month. (If you don't know what I'm talking about- LEAVE! You're too young! Stop reading 😭)

And it's not like you could just ask the captain to make a pit stop, so you could grab those supplies... no, you had to fend for yourself until the next pit stop, which was normally scheduled every two months. However, sometimes it wasn't an option...

So you had to learn how to use them wisely.

For the most part, you were fine; it was just irritating.

And it wasn't like you could just go and talk to someone about it.

You were pretty sure that 99% of the crew members didn't even know what a period is...

And the only person you think would know since he does have a human mother, after all... you're too scared to even say hi.

And even then, you'd rather die than talk to him about your period cramps... 😂💀

But that wasn't even your problem... you were done for the month. Right now, your problem was the fact that the boy you thought was cute was currently standing in front of you... You. Had. No. Clothes. On. 😭

It started with Jim and Morph playing around.

Now, usually, you would always wake up early so you could use the bathroom first thing in the morning. So you could avoid everyone else and get a head start for the day.

You were doing your usual routine.

Normally, you'd shower and then brush your teeth and hair before ending it all by applying some natural makeup.

However, today, you were interrupted...

When you walked in, you thought you'd closed the door all the way; however, a sneaky little pink blob got squeezed in between the door and the wall, causing the door to stay slightly open as the little blob sneaked in with a sock in hand...

(okay, picture this- the door is there... and when you enter the bathroom, there is a wall in front of you, and on your left is a tiny hallway... take two steps and look to your right you see the bathroom stuff. I hope you can visualize what I'm trying to say...)

Morph ended up getting hit by one of our many clothes. You weren't really paying attention as you were simply taking off your clothes and throwing them somewhere as you prepared your shower.

As you were about to turn on your shower, you heard something...

It was a little giggle. A giggle that only came from a pink little blob...

"Morph? Are you in here-" You said, turning around as you heard another person speak simultaneously- "Morph? Where'd you go-"

You both were staring at each other... a silence quickly fell.

Your entire body burned from the inside as you silently panicked...

Your face turned red as a cold chill befell on you the moment you met eyes... you froze- you couldn't even muster a full scream.

Just a small little squeak before your brain fully turns off from complete under embarrassment.

Meanwhile, in Jim's mind... SH** SH** SH*******************

Boy was in full-on panic mode... didn't know what to say or do- freaking out inside his head while his body, including his head, WOULD NOT MOVEEE 🤣😭

His face had a cute shade of pink on too... the only thing that dazed you both out of your frozen state was Morph who was mimicking you... In. Front. Of. Jim's. Face.

He quickly realized and clapped his hands on him, causing Morph to quit it as you quickly grabbed a towel to cover yourself.

A brief moment of silence came once again.

This time, you refused to look at him as you held on to your towel tightly, hoping he would just leave...

It took a moment- he took a breath then proceeded- "Look, Y/n... I-I'm really sorry! I- I didn't mean it I- I swear!" He took a step towards you. It was clear that he was utterly baffled about the event that just happened. "W-we were just playing around... I didn't think anyone was in here. T-T-The door wasn't locked..." He said, pointing to where the door was. He honestly sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than to explain to you by that point...

You just stood there as he rambled on- "And- and there was a sock! Yeah... a sock!"

"You mean that one..." You pointed only to quickly regret it.

The sock Jim was talking about was currently under the cute little panties you just had on...

You died inside- instantly! As you both stared at it. His face turned an even brighter shade of red as your face did the complete opposite.

Yours turned pale- pale as white snow. Instantly regretting everything.

I had a gut feeling about taking this shower this morning, and this is what I get for not listening... You thought as you covered your face with both of your hands... Sliding down to your knees.

Jim looked at you, then back at the panties, then quickly backed towards you and realized-

You were crying... his lungs lost breath as his heart squeezed itself a little too hard. "Hey, hey, it's okay! You don't have to cry- I- I swear I won't tell anyone. No one has to know." By the end of that sentence, he was kneeling down next to you with his hand on your back.

You lifted your head, looking at him with watery eyes...

Honestly, you weren't really all that sad- it was more of the fact that you were completely overwhelmed and felt a little violated...

But that look on your face crushed Jim inside and out...

He made a worried look- looking down completely defeated.

"Look Y/n I really hope this doesn't change your opinion of me. I swear I'm not a pervert..." You almost couldn't hear him with how quiet he got.

You raised your head a little higher... tilting it as you leaned it a little closer... he did the same.

Now you two were staring into each other's eyes, then at your lips. Then, slowly but surely, he kissed you... it was soft and gentle.

You were shocked at first since you thought he didn't like you, but they quickly fluttered to a close as you melted into the kiss.

His hands held your cheeks as you stayed like that for a minute... nothing but kissy sounds as you both sat on the bathroom floor.

"What's going on here!?"

Your eyes quickly opened, pulling away; you started to scream as you realized who it was.

Jim quickly turned around. "GET OUT!"

"Bu- ah." He was completely baffled. "The bathroom door wasn't locked! And beside! YOU TWO ARE WAY TO YOUNG To Be Doin this sorta thang!" He said, putting his hands on his hips.

Jim fully got up now- mad and flustered. He was about to say something until you said- "Jim... I think you should leave too... I still need to take a shower." You muttered the last part.

He stared at you for a moment- then huffed. He put his hands in his pockets as he walked, and he gave Silver his best mean mug look.

As the old cyborg just shocked his head, smirking as he laughed quietly. Following the boy out.

BoNuS (Since I had more ideas LMAO)

It was late at night.

Everyone already retreated onto their hammocks.

Everyone was asleep but Jim.

He was wide awake.

He had his hands behind his head as he swung a little, side to side, on his hammock.

"I don't know what to do, Morph... I mean, is it wrong...?" He asked his little friend.

Morph wasn't really sure what he was talking about-

"I mean, I thought she was really cute before, but now-" He subconsciously bit his lower lip as he fell deeper into his thoughts... then realization hit- "Nope, no! Can't do that." He whispered-yelled mainly to himself as he moved to his side.

His hands were now covering his little friend, the one that was poking through his pants. Who clearly didn't want to go away any time soon... as his legs curled up trying to get rid of it. He was now lying in a fetal position.

"Mhm?" That was all Morph said.

"L-look, it's nothing okay... Um- go to silver or something." He said rather quickly, but Morph still stood there. "Just- leave. Okay?" Jim said once again, but Morph still didn't move as the cute little creature just made cute little noises.

"Ugh..." Jim rolled his eyes... "Shoo! Please." He said, swatting him away.

This time Morph, did leave as Jim laid back down...

Inktober Day 5: Map

My favourite part of Disney’s 2002 animated feature Treasure Planet is its main song, aptly titled “Jim’s Theme”. It is, however, one of my sister’s favourite Disney movies (although according to people who have a living memory of the early 2000s, I too used to watch this movie on repeat). When I thought about writing this prompt, I felt incredibly stuck. I remember very little of the plot of Treasure Planet, and I had no ideas for crafting a narrative on Jim’s holographic puzzle map. So to get in the mindspace, I put “Jim’s Theme” on repeat. At time of writing I am on my sixth listen to the song, and after hearing the lyrics repeated 6 times, I started thinking about how to conceptualize a map. In Treasure Island, the map is Jim’s call to action, it is what gets him going on the adventure of the film. It is, more than anything, a plot device. But that’s boring, so I thought, what else could it be? What’s a better argument? What if the map is a metaphor for Jim’s character. Someone that neither his mother nor Dr. Delbert Doppler could unlock or understand. “Jim’s Theme” encapsulates this mentality through its opening lyrics “I am a question to the world / Not an answer to be heard” and later, “you don't know me.” In this essay I will…

Maybe this is something that every film critic since the movie came out has spoken about, but I thought it was a really interesting comparison. If the physical map is Jim, how does that affect his reading of his journey? Is there a reading of his character as overcoming objectification (in the sense that he is seen as a helpful tool to accomplish work (much like B.E.N.))? Could one argue that he is meant only to be understood by the youth, similar to his ability to figure out the map that had puzzled Dr. Doppler.

Ps. It took me approximately 11 loops of this song to finish this little blurb.
