Just wanted to sneak in and say the idea of Riverstar x One Eye would immediately become 100x funnier if one were also to ship them in Better Bones
Here's the God of Summer. He eats people and hates everyone except his RiverClan bf and daughter /j
Quick shout back to you to tell you I'm trying to provide room for it
I love OneRiver too much to not give some kind of opportunity where they could have had some sort of positive relationship, and it's just a genuinely cool idea. That Riverstar was able to see the mysterious stranger before he revealed his true colors, and always felt... odd, about his peculiar energy.
A friendly tenseness. A mutual parting where neither one quite knows what to make of the other. The feeling in Riverstar's gut is like locking eyes with a tiger, just before it turns away.
So what I'm thinking is that in Thunderstar's Justice, after the carnage at the First Battle that summons the God of Summer like a dinner bell, One Eye comes to peruse. He visits each Clan, spends a short amount of time there, and then moves onto the next. He finally stops in Skystar's Clan, but it would give him some room to hang out in the River Kingdom.
Since it's Thunderstar's story though, he would be getting this information secondpaw from his ally and old friend, King Riverstar. One Eye would have a very... tense, predatory feeling to Thunderstar.
Like he's tracking something very powerful and very dangerous as it prowls through the undergrowth.
In truth, One Eye is scouting. He's looking for what was responsible for that delicious smell on that sticky, sweltering summer day. His stops in each group to understand them better, see what sorts of things they want and what they're currently doing, but finds that none of the other Four Founders are the warlord he's looking for.
A wise, ancient, well-spoken being, he was interested in Riverstar for a little longer than the others. Not as his target. Just as a curiosity.
What a poetic story, this peaceful prince had. Desperate to avoid the stressful responsibilities that would be thrust upon him, he sought friends where there should have been enemies, and made peace in spite of tyrants. But his nonchalance became carelessness, and he was made hostage by his underestimated enemy.
He ended up sparking the very battle he had sought so hard to avoid, his father's heroic death to save his son landing the crown upon Riverstar's head. A tragedy. A tale of inevitability. To a God of War, it's a wonderful story to hear.

man. sometimes I just remember Gillion’s Last Sin monologue is set to Via Purifico from FFX. and it’s so perfect. I haven’t played FFX for quite a few years, mind, but the fact that it’s the theme to the prison where you’re left, without help or hope for escape - but manage to push on with what strength you have found for yourself. playing as Yuna, alone, without the rest of the party - easily the least trained, seemingly most vulnerable - and going through these fights alone. Gillion admitting his final sin against this council of elders, facing what he is sure to damn him but facing it anyways. trapped in both the prison of his own guilt, and the very real donjon prison inside the pearl. it’s at a turning point, a moment of loss of faith, where the battles fought are ones faced alone, until friends can finally come and help with whatever is next around the corner - in both FFX and Riptide, for Yuna and for Gillion. a set of trials for them to overcome, finding the answers not from anyone else, just themselves. and the feeling of isolation, being alone against the world, matching Gillion alone in the pearl against his past. it’s just such a good fit, both thematically and musically.

I'm bi and yeah your note on women not having solidarity seems sadly true. Apart from not dating men would there be anything you would suggest to improve ones life apart from stating away from those women if possible?
I love this question because this is how to start thinking: being practical.
What it takes to "improve ones life" is subjective so with that said firstly define what a better life(style) for yourself away from moids would look like. Temporarily mentally remove xy terrorist existence. What would your habits/routine be? What would you work towards & pour your energy into? What would you want to be? What would you center your life around? Take your time with these questions or anymore that come up. Have a general idea then be more specific and start breaking your life down into sectors/sections/areas, then look at where you want to be in those areas and work towards it.
For example; I divide my life into 6-7 aspects:
Physical Strength - Not just about muscle but knowing how to fight, where to hit and when to fight. Being stronger makes it easier to defend yourself in altercations (especially with other women). Some mfs will try you & you cant always rely on others coming to your rescue. Also work on building stamina to help endurance, and keeping as healthy as possible.
Emotional Strength - If you cant control your emotions they will control you. In a world of chaos being emotionally strong will let you cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters. Building emotional strength is not easy but it's worth it. Being able to rise above immediate reactions and pace yourself will allow you to assess situations more rationally & make more beneficial choices.
Finances - Get your bag up. Having money to gain resources is imperative to quality of life. I dont care what anyone says having a certain amount of money in life WILL make you happier as you're able to meet your needs better. Having more money/resources also makes it easier to support other women should you choose to do so, it also allows you to be more influential and have more control over your life. However, dont become a slave to getting money tho because that's how you get scammed.
Network - The type of people you hang around can make or break who you are as a person. Aim to connect with likeminded women who will encourage & inspire you as you go on this journey. Hang around people that value & will be honest with you while giving you grace. Not all women you engage with have to be single & childfree but beware the moid crazy ones because they will bring danger to you in their quest for maIe validation. Life isn't perfect but you cant go wrong having the right people around you, valuable relationships are hard to find but it goes a long way even if it's just online. However, no company > bad company.
Spirituality/Guide - Having something bigger than yourself to guide you through the chaos in this world can offer guidance/purpose that keeps you grounded & focused. For many people generally this is religion/god. Not everyone needs or ascribes to religion/spirituality though, but at least consider sets of morals/beliefs to follow. However even that isn't for everyone. So if you feel better off without spirituality or a 'higher' guide at least be clear on it & your reasons why (for yourself).
Hobbies & Interests - As turbulent as the world is, find things to enjoy amidst the chaos. Constant work, doom, and gloom will not change anything you will only hurt yourself. Take time to indulge in things that make you happy to recharge & relax. Engage in hobbies that serve you, share your passion with other women & hear theirs out too. It goes a long way in terms of mental health.
Security - It takes privilege to decide to not get married or have children as a woman & live it out. Everyone's situation is different so what I'll generally suggest is to constantly look into how you can protect yourself, have backup methods, and stay in the loop of xy predation. Dont drown in it but moids are predators & being completely blind to them is being blind to danger. Elaborated on point 10 here.
Sounds like a lot? Great, it'll keep you busy because this isn't a vacation or destination but a lifestyle. And to be honest, some of y'all can do with the busyness as it'll let you focus on what actually matters. This not to say to overwhelm yourself in things for the sake of it but to prioritise your energy on effective things for your life. As you focus on building you'll find that you have less energy to care about insignificant stuff or stuff out of your control anyways. For example, Instead of getting wound up about user somerandomadjectivefem stirring discourse calling you an extremist or whining about how impossible it is for her & other women to live without romantic love n' whatnot (or even women irl pulling this crap), you either ignore or quickly shut down the conversation & swiftly move on.
Everything I've mentioned are just examples, you may feel differently do whatever you feel best applies. Also remember to enjoy the process along the way as you are living through it afterall :3
Long story short: Work on building resources & other aspects of your life up for yourself.

SORRY to come in askbox and rant but i agree with u so hard about how gonta is treated. the worst of it is when ppl 1. assume he is a dumb and therefore 2. assume that his percieved lack of intelligence means that he cant make decisions for himself. People so easily assume that kokichi *forced* him to kill miu, or that gonta didnt fully understand what he was doing. both of those statements are prove-ably false by his dialogue. he knows what he is doing. he is fully aware of the situation and the consequences, but he believes it to be the right thing to do, and even if he was manipulated it was his decision in the end, because he loved his friends so much and didnt want to see them suffer. and to ignore all that diminishes the themes of the *series as a whole* and it's very saddening to see that ppl legit see him as unintelligent, to the point of ignoring his ability to think for himself
ITS SO IMPORTANT in ch4 to recognize Gonta's autonomy. I strongly believe he wouldn't have done what he did if Kokichi wasn't there but I also believe that he still chose to do it. The idea that he didn't fully understand what he was doing is so ridiculous to me. Like, would someone who didn't know what he was doing know to toss the murder weapon away and to lie and act as natural as possible in front of Shuichi and Tsumugi after he got spotted??
Gonta's deal the entire game was him getting progressively sadder and more desperate as more murders occurred and blaming himself because he couldn't stop them even if there was no reasonable way he could. Two murders back to back in ch3 despite his presence on the student council was the breaking point. When you talk to him at the beginning of ch4 he's already made up his mind to potentially sacrifice himself against monokuma to try and stop the killings. The groundwork was already there for Gonta to do something self-sacrificing and drastic.
He has this huge amount of guilt and powerlessness weighing on him, that Kokichi then used to push him to do what he did. (not to mention also using Gonta's established distrust in him after the insect meet n greet)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thinking gonta is stupid or doubting his autonomy enough to call him just a tool of Kokichi in this moment because of the way he speaks and his trustful naivete is just. so rancid to me. And it ignores how hard he was trying the entire game to help his friends and again, ignores all serious aspects of his character.

Ephesians‬ ‭3:14‭-‬16‬ ‭(FBV)‬‬. “This is why I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its nature and character, asking him that out of his wealth of glory he may strengthen you in your innermost being with power through his Spirit.”
“Spiritual Strength” By In Touch Ministries:
“When our struggles seem overwhelming, we can call on God, who promises strength to endure.”
“Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians while he was imprisoned in Rome. It wasn’t his first time suffering for the gospel, and they knew this because they’d heard his story and had even seen some of the persecution firsthand.
After reminding his friends of who they were in Christ, Paul picked up his prayer where he left off in chapter 1. He knew well that living as a subject of the one true King isn’t always smooth sailing. But he didn’t want his persecution to discourage them, so he prayed for their spiritual strength.
Paul reinforced the truth of who God is and who believers are in Him. But the Ephesians aren’t the only ones who are the Lord’s—we also belong to Him. And God, who has lavished upon all Christians the riches of His glory, promises to provide for our every need (Philippians 4:19). As was true for the believers in Ephesus, we need to be reminded of this often, and that is a key work of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).
Spiritual strength helps us to endure whether we are suffering or seeing others struggle. It is also what enables us to carry Christ into the world—as we’ll see tomorrow.”

"Greene, Soleil, whichever alias you are going by online at the moment, why do you like the Riordanverse Apollo so much?"
Simple: he's written like every single twinky loser bard I've ever played in dnd complete with daddy issues, constantly rolling a Nat 1, and being parent to 500 either biologically or through indiscreet adoption.
Trials of Apollo is just a very long story boiling down to 'and this is how I adopted my latest gremlin child in the most convoluted way possible.'

The essence of love lies in its remarkable ability to discover beauty even amidst the depths of pain. It is a profound connection that transcends hardships and reveals the profound strength of the human spirit. Love's unwavering gaze finds the silver lining in every dark cloud, weaving hope and compassion into the fabric of our lives. Through the trials and tribulations, love becomes a guiding light, illuminating the path towards healing and growth. Embracing both joy and sorrow, love teaches us to cherish every moment, as each experience enriches the tapestry of our shared journey. It is in the face of adversity that love's true essence is revealed, binding hearts together with an unbreakable bond, for it is through pain that we truly learn the transformative power of love.

anyway, feenris is important to both their characters because he taught her that her kindness wasn't a weakness, and she taught him that he could still have conviction without losing the parts of him that purely cared btw. if that even matters to you.

I just had a vision came up to me
Nico being a figure skater with these sharp ass blades, jumping around and planting his blades of his enemies face
A beautiful graceful bloody scenery of his choreography
someone draw this otherwise there would be blood to pay.
Actually no jk lol or maybe not but yeah I always imagine Nico fights like he's dancing with his sword as the partner.
Moreso, since I always have the impression that Nico moves weightlessly, I suppose there would be some point when he uses his blade as leverage to propel himself through the air.
In a way, that's the closest I can get without making up a whole AU lmao. There's a Yuri on Ice crossover though and it's good---

Taunt
Whumptober Day 13 and 14: "It comes and goes like the strength in your bones" and "Just hold on"
Sorry this is late and kinda short! I had an allergic reaction on Friday so I couldn't do day 13 :)
-
"Just hold on, Apollo." Commodus taunts, like he isn't the reason he's bleeding out, like he isn't the one that's pinning him against a wall and twisting his arms until they could very much snap.
He kind of wants to snarl, but his throat is constricted and it comes across as more of a sob. He knows that if he were to get an inch of his godly strength back, he could very well kill him where he stands. He could incinerate him with a whisper. Smite him with a blink. But he's not a god and he doesn't have strength, and, the only thing he can do is weakly struggle against the Emperor's hold.
"We wouldn't you to get anymore hurt before your master gets here, would we?" His voice is honey laced with poison. The type that bees make by accident, and the type that kills people just looking to eat. The type that is poisoning Apollo right now, sinking into his skin and refusing to let him move anymore than he can.
His master… Meg. It's a trap and he's the bait. Although Apollo knows that Commodus is valuing him far more than he will ever value the stepdaughter Nero desperately wants back. The mad fire that burns through his eyes is every testament to the sickening worries of what he could do Meg, if he really tried to hurt her. Commodus has stopped twisting his arms at this point, happy enough to keep them pressed immobile against the wall with a strength he was never able to fully feel as a god, but is fully and devastatingly capable of feeling as a mortal.
"I intend on keeping her alive." Commodus comments idly. He turns to a single hand to keep him pinned and starts drifting the over across his collarbone, fingering the base of his exposed neck. Apollo tries not to whimper. The blood from his gut seems to gush ten times faster. "Though why Nero wants her, I don't know. She's rather useless. I may have to kill her-"
Cold rage floods his veins and before he fully recognises what's going on, he felt a fraction of his godly strength fire up and outwards, and he shoves with all his strength-
Commodus goes flying backwards, too surprised to scream. His entire body hits the floor at the same time and he collapses, immortal, not dead, but collapses nonetheless-
The stab wound in his gut doesn't slow or fasten and Apollo is left to clutch his hoodie's fabric around it as he stares gingerly at the pretty crumple ahead of him. He feels weaker than before, and he knows that there would be no hope of his godly power coming back again, today.
He stumbles down a different corridor in Commodus' headquarters to find Meg. He doesn't know if he can pass Commodus without stopping and collapsing next too him.
