October 31 will be day 6 of @bylerween2023, one of the themes being trick-or-treating.

Come trick-or-treat in people's asks!

🎃Send asks to people participating, saying "Trick or Treat!" Add a scared emoji 😱 for tricks, or a candy emoji 🍬 for treats. (tricks lean more into the scary elements and can include any spooky content, whereas treats will be more wholesome and avoid major triggers) You can add both if you are open to either, and want to be surprised!

*If you only want to open your asks to one of these, feel free to put that in the tags.

🧛Costumes are encouraged - include an image in your ask of your costume! It can be a picture of a costume (something spooky, a character, etc.), your real life costume/cosplay, a Stranger Things character edited into a costume, or anything you'd like.

🕸️Respond to trick-or-treaters with a trick or a treat! These can be Stranger Things or Halloween memes, written text (byler drabbles, scenarios, etc.), drawings, a kind message to the sender, or anything else! Feel free to get creative. Prompt #110

Gravel crunched underfoot as System A made their way down the long driveway, bag of candy slung over their shoulder. Lanterns hung along the path, illuminating everything in an orange and yellow glow and drowning out the beam from their tiny flashlight, but System A kept it on anyway. They knew what was going to happen, now that they'd decided to visit this house of all houses on Halloween night.

The sound of candles being extinguished started up behind them, whispered into their ears as the lanterns went out, pair by pair by pair. System A did not falter, did not look behind them, and did not give any outward signal of acknowledgement to the second pair of footsteps that had started up right behind them, not even when the only light remaining was that of their flashlight, and not even when they climbed the porch stairs of the house no one returned from and knocked as loud as they dared.

The door was answered by a being who couldn't be seen under their cloak.

"My, my, I wasn't expecting any trick-or-treaters tonight! Just give me a moment, please – I'll be back with a little something for you and your friend."
