I know it's ask the swap papyruses but also like:

What is your different takes on each swap papyrus you've made so far? Are there stark differences or slight changes? How do you portray them?

I'm not 100% sure how to properly answer this. There are so many, so I'm gonna pick a handful.

Syrup: Grew up in the Underground, similar to Undertale but with reversed roles. Prankster, goofball, loving as hell, constantly worried about his stressed-out brother, enjoys puzzles and sweets, dislikes fatty food and drink.

Slick: Genuine mafia man, beloved by Kioko, very hot, very strong, very orphan. The guy has a huge body count, he's a flirt, plays around with people, likes pissing off his kidnappers, prankster, values his family, he's a good hacker, he can take a punch, and he's incredibly snarky.

Ceylon: Grew up in the Underground, following an Underswap neutral route, and survived a famine. Is still a joker, but he has a more morbid sense of humor now. He is a mother hen (ish), likes sweet foods, tolerates greasy stuff, and is a little nasty when we first meet, but he lightens up because he is really touch starved.

Farmswap: Lark grew up on the surface with a farm. Dude is a farmer who works hard but is prone to laziness. He is a joker, very powerful, has a nasty mouth, may be easily irritated depending on the situation, enjoys honey, is really helpful, intelligent, and motivating.

Obsidian: Grew up in the Underground, but is slightly more hostile than average Underswap. A prankster, a smoker, dislikes greasy food, is a major flirt, smug, enjoys poor puns, prefers honey-flavored foods to plain honey, enjoys booze, and balances his brother out.

Honeycomb: He grew up in the Underground, which was devastated by Toxin, and has since become a multiverse wanderer. A prankster, but more closed off and colder than his other varieties, vindictive, the #original, vigilante, smokes and enjoys sweets, a flirt, more worried than the other variants, and overprotective.

Sandstone: Did not grow up in the Underground, grew up on the surface world. He is an authentic hero. A prankster AND a troublemaker, a social butterfly who is secretly an introvert, highly protective of loved ones, loving, caring, and takes his profession very seriously (in comparison to his other versions), and everyone kind of likes him.

Cyfrin: He is a god of Mischief and Daydreams. He is a guide, a lovely person, and a trickster (yes), but he is unnecessarily courteous and formal; he frequently leads people to considerably happier lifestyles and dream choices; he is highly flirty, frequently anxious, and does not take his job of helping others seriously.

Beckett: A dragon who guards his home. A little cooler than his variants, very serious about his work, a trickster who enjoys horrible jokes, a gentleman to a fault, a tease, calm, stressed, and careful, very strong, and not afraid to battle and tear his way to survival.

Bryn: Dreamwalker who improves dreams, reality bender, grew raised in the Anti-void. He's nice, lethargic, and a prankster, but he can be extremely frightening and intimidating as a guide. He enjoys reality-bending and puns and isn't tied to any single AU.

Liu: He's a void traveling doctor. He's super smart, also he's weirdly cryptic, he smokes, avoids causing problems for friends, a prankster, deals with stress well, seems overconfident, and like sweet food over savory.

Undertale AU Idea

Small medieval town that's essentially a large AU mixing pot, with skeletons from Underfell, Underswap, Horrortale, Dreamtale, ect ect. I feel like if Bill!Sans was there too he'd be a town trickster or business dealer, and Horror!Sans would have a farm with his brother owning a sweets shop or farmers market. Nightmare would probably own a large town library or be a bartender. Swap!Papyrus would probably own a little sweet shop or be a beekeeper Reaper!Sans would either be a tired store clerk or work as a security guard for graveyards, with his Toriel working as a veterinarian or doctor. Now, would they still have their powers? example; Nightmare being able to use his tentacles or melt into the ground, or Bill being literal chaos emboided. It honestly depends, Bill wouldn't be able to be as chaotic but he'd still be able to float slightly above the ground. Just like Nightmare would still have his tentacles and 'teleportation' but he can't shapeshift or anything else. Reaper is another good example, as in this AU he can't kill people with a touch but he does feel cold to the touch. If anyone has questions about this lil thing just ask me :)

I still don’t understand the difference between Archetype and Subtype XD

For the ‘prestige’ classes, the ones listed are not necessarily the only way to reach that prestige, just how the skele in question did so.

I do think a case could be made for one of the Divine classes (Cleric, Paladin, Inquisitor, etc) for any of the Judges.

a list of Underswap Papyrus (Swap) hcs cuz he’s on my mind

From a Pacifist Timeline.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

He has a masters in mechanical engineering and uses this to the fullest. His special interest is building things with that skillset, and it’s what he does to keep away “the ever-encroaching specter of boredom”.

On that note, he is very autistic.

Swap’s inventions and creations are 80% useless and 20% actual normal stuff. He has a fascination with Rube Goldberg machines and has created many in his workshop (which is guarded by a rudimentary defense mech). So most of what he makes is unnecessarily complex with numerous triggering mechanisms.

His room is covered wall-to-wall with blueprints and designs he made and scrapped for materials for the next project after he was done with them.

He is aware of the Multiverse, but only really cares if it pertains directly to him and his interests. He never shows up at the big important things.

However, he does have a reputation as a Multiversal trickster, using his skills to prank people across the AUs. Opinions on him are mixed, considering everyone agrees said skills are valuable and could be useful in the event of a massive threat to the Multiverse, but everyone also agrees that he’s a chaotic wildcard with interests purely lying in his home world.

Known inventions:

The centrifugal sock-whacker (a spoked hub with weighted socks on the ends that repeatedly press an activation button as the structure moves)

The Zero-Man Band 2600 (An entire woodwind and brass orchestra powered by pneumatic mechanisms.)

I dunno if I asked before but I've been going to multiple blogs I follow just to ask.

So,what are your favorite headcanons of any characters?

Okay hang on I have a list:

- This one’s multiple characters but when Sans and Papyrus babysit Frisk on a weekend, they invite Undyne and Alphys over for an eventful sleepover involving movies, dramatic and intense pillow fights, and games.

- Another headcanon of mine is that Papyrus also worked at the CORE with Sans, Alphys and Gaster, but he worked in a different department. Also I like the older brother Gaster headcanon.

- I’m always thinking about the Flowey flower pot headcanon and he starts getting along with the others.

- Papyrus, Undyne, and Alphys totally work out with each other although Alphys ends up having to sit down or be carried by Undyne.

- Sans continues the habit of having a bunch of jobs and being in a different place while he’s working when he gets on the surface.

- Sans and Asgore have bi-weekly tea sessions while in the underground and they chat about things.

- Papyrus helps out with Frisk, Toriel, and Asgore with being the monster ambassador when they get onto the surface.

- Mettaton totally floats still since he’s still technically a ghost and diverts all of the reporters’ questions of why he can to Alphys.

- Alphys and Mettaton still have that fan club on the surface.

- Underswap Papyrus will occasionally smoke, but most of the time he’s just eating lollipops that are either honey flavored or citrus flavored.

- Also Underswap and Swapfell Papyrus do this thing where when they’re feeling distressed or embarrassed they pull their hoodie over their heads and pulls the drawstrings. They call it hoodie ville.

- Underswap Sans is a bit more cheerful but he suffers imposter syndrome. He’s also Snowdin’s peace keeper while his brother is sort of known to be a bit of a troublemaker and strange for the inventions he makes. Oh yeah, Underswap Papyrus is a mechanical engineer.

- Underswap Papyrus learns how to properly brew tea from Underswap Asgore and makes it for him and Underswap Sans to calm down.

- Underfell Papyrus became Captain of the Royal Guard to fix how things were. There’s mixed success on how good his plan for fixing things are.

- Underfell Papyrus got his scars from a fight with Underfell Asgore. Also part of his fear with thunder stems from this encounter.

- Underfell Sans and Papyrus bicker, but they still care for each other. Love it when they learn how to show that they do when they get on the surface.

- Underfell Frisk is definitely a daring trickster but also just wants to have friends.

Underfell Papyrus- Oath of Vengeance Paladin- The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when an entire people turns against the will of the gods, when a thieves' guild grows too violent and powerful, when a dragon rampages through the countryside – at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong. To these paladins – sometimes called avengers or dark knights – their own purity is not as important as delivering justice.

Sans- Lore Mastery Wizard- Lore Mastery is an arcane tradition fixated on understanding the underlying mechanics of magic. It is the most academic of all arcane traditions. The promise of uncovering new knowledge or proving (or discrediting) a theory of magic is usually required to rouse its practitioners from their laboratories, academies, and archives to pursue a life of adventure. Known as savants, followers of this tradition are a bookish lot who see beauty and mystery in the application of magic. The results of a spell are less interesting to them than the process that creates it. Some savants take a haughty attitude toward those who follow a tradition focused on a single school of magic, seeing them as provincial and lacking the sophistication needed to master true magic. Papyrus- Champion archetype Fighter- The archetypal Champion focuses on the development of raw physical power honed to deadly perfection. Those who model themselves on this archetype combine rigorous training with physical excellence to deal devastating blows.

Swapfell Papyrus- Great old one Warlock- Your patron is a mysterious entity whose nature is utterly foreign to the fabric of reality. It might come from the Far Realm, the space beyond reality, or it could be one of the elder gods known only in legends. M…minor deity AU?

Sans (Undertale): A god of merchants and tricksters. He gives his favor to anybody trying to make a (mostly) honest living selling wares, using sleight of hand, or just someone who’s fond of harmless jokes. If you ever appeal to him for anything–making a sale, pulling off a prank, being able to meet your bottom line for the month– you have to watch yourself later. He keeps an eye-socket out for those he’s helped before and any who get greedy or try to swindle those less fortunate than themselves…tend to pick up a streak of very bad karma. Can be summoned or called upon with monetary offerings, or a joke if it’s terrible enough.

Papyrus (Undertale): He tends to lost causes and the forgotten, the ones that everyone else has given up on. He sees the potential in all people to do good things and be better than they were yesterday. He’ll favor even the worst sort of person who’s done terrible things, as long as they feel in their heart that they want to make a change. His blessings often come in the form of sudden bursts of motivation and serendipitous encounters to help someone along on the road to…wherever they need going to! Can be summoned with…just about anything, honestly… He’s fond of trinkets, though, especially if it’s unique or has an interesting story attached!

Sky (Underswap Sans): God of pioneers and travelers, and not only in the literal, ‘physically going somewhere’ kind of sense. He looks out for anyone trying something new, doing something that’s never been done before (or at least, not by them), treading uncertain, new ground. Nothing excites him more than that kind of passion and he wants to protect it wherever he can– often with bursts of luck and insight, but he’ll sometimes appear in person just to drop a few words of encouragement on somebody who’s struggling hard or doubting their path. Not hard to summon, sometimes shows up without any offering at all, but food’s a good bet; nothing fancy or even a lot of it, just whatever you have around to offer up as a snack. Basic hospitality!

Paps (Underswap Papyrus): He lurks in academic circles as a god of scholars and wisdom. He has a love of knowledge and favors anyone trying to pursue it, but his blessings are very subtle and he’s relatively unknown. He doesn’t mind: he’ll still grant moments of clarity in dense texts, create good conditions to learn in, plant those suspiciously rational thoughts that you really aren’t going to do well at this if you’re tired, or hungry, or need a break. As for summoning him…how do you attract any fan of literature? Clean, fresh paper or parchment, ink, pens, any will do, he hoards them shamelessly as do we all.

Jasper (Underfell Sans): He’s a god of strength, and of the broken. He’s picky about the causes he’ll attend to. Those who confuse ‘strength’ with ‘power’ will never see a blessing from him, but those who really need to be strong– to protect someone, to help, or even just for themselves because without the strength to keep on going when things in their life have beaten them down to a breaking point, they don’t know what they’d do… He’s there, making it just a little bit easier to keep going with a persistent feeling of determination and an unshakeable irritation at the thought of letting your hardships get one over on you. Surprisingly easy to summon, just ask: if you’re in such dire straits as to actually ask for help, he’ll take the pride you’ve had to swallow as payment enough.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): An overseer of justice and sacrifice. Highly in demand, yet rarely beloved or even liked because his aspects are so difficult to balance and often not in agreement with what people want or expect. His name is constantly cursed by people in power who assumed that the just outcome and their desired outcome were one and the same… and very upset to learn that this was not the case. Still, he believes in justice, and that sacrifices should mean something, and he tries to make that so wherever he can, whether it’s what someone asked for or not. ……But for all the big stuff he attends to, with lives on the line, he much prefers the smaller things– at least actors and students and athletes are grateful when their hard work pays off with a big break, or an aced test, or a victory medal… Can only be summoned by giving up something very important to you, personally (he is a deity of sacrifice, after all).

Mal (Swapfell Sans): A god of vengeance and survivors, he can be found wherever someone’s been wronged, by a circumstance or by a person. He’ll fix what he can, if it can be fixed, but primarily, he facilitates righteousness and tips the dominoes to make sure that those responsible for pain and suffering face consequences. He speaks to victims often without revealing himself, manifesting as whispers they mistake for their own thoughts and encouraging them to stand up and take control with his support: ‘I can’t let them do this to me,’ ‘I don’t deserve this,’ ‘I can do something about this.’ His softest spot is for battered and abused children and spouses, and those who hurt them tend to meet…more permanent forms of revenge. Can be summoned with blood, but only when someone else has made you spill it.

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): A patron of artists and creators, freely giving his favor to anyone endeavoring to bring something of their own making into the world. Everyone from painters to craftsmen and even expecting couples seek his blessings on their efforts, hoping for good and successful outcomes to what they’re making. As a great lover of creativity and happiness, he’s all too pleased to provide a pinch of luck or skill, inspiration and happy accidents, whatever he can do to ensure a project goes smoothly, no matter the stakes. Can be summoned with sweets left in offering for him–they say the more you offer, the better your outcome, but that’s wholly unsubstantiated.

Slate (Horrortale Sans): God of the hearth and harvest, extremely empathetic to pain and suffering, especially that of families. Most often called upon as a last resort when one’s way of living is threatened and their home–and the people who live there–are in some kind of danger. Encroaching war, failing crops, untenable circumstances that no mortal means could circumvent are all in his wheelhouse to stave off and hold at bay, if just for a little longer. Can be summoned by tears born of pain, worry, or desperation.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): He looks out for the injured and infirm, those who aren’t physically sound enough to advocate for themselves. People suffering from chronic illness often attribute some easing of their symptoms to him and those wounded in battle or in accidents feel they recover more quickly if they seek his blessing. He’s not a powerful enough deity to fix everything, but he can alleviate pain and even quell a bit of the fear and confusion that sometimes comes along with being sick or hurt or dying, and he’s a well-loved and highly-sought entity for that alone. Can be summoned with candles or incense.

specifically im talking about the everknown Undertale fandom, where people lived and breathed AUs. I was active in that fandom for 2 years straight, and boy did it make me forget why i liked undertale in the first place. it was filled with absolutely appaling/badly written garbage like:

underfell, underswap, swapfell, fellswap, dusttale, reapertale, aftertale, sciencetale, outertale, UNDERLUST, cross sans, gaster sans, dream sans, nightmare sans, ink sans, error sans, killer sans, yandere sans, yandere blueberry, LUSTSWAP, LUSTSWAPFELL, glitchtale, the papyrus that was basically a sans, disbelief papyrus, that papyrus that was a dog for some godawful reason, the handplates au, epictale, flowey possession au, flowertale, flowerfell,sixbones au, trickster sans, birdtale, core frisk, whatever the fuck underverse was, and more

so being confronted with That everyday was hell. bc incest and selfcest and porn was thrown into the mix, and i would be forced to see a dogboy papyrus made out with a cutified version of sans while their brothers watched. it was unavoidable

so i don't care about aus too much.

not to say i don't care for them at all. smaller fandoms are, ofc, chiller than huge fandoms, so i tend to like jthm or sally face aus. ppl aren't freaky and edgy (prolly bc the og content is already freaky and edgy lmao)

Whoa, hey, kid. Calm down, he didn’t mean to rattle your bones so bad. It was just a hand-buzzer, no harm done, see? He tries a couple more times to play little jokes on you, each to lessening degrees of shock, only to come to the same conclusion each time: you don’t like tricks. It’s a shame, he lives for slapstick. He’s kind of disappointed, but he learns to dial down the pranks around you.

Underswap-Papyrus:

Well, he’s unsure if you can be friends. After all, what kind of reasonable human doesn’t like japes?? He’s just kidding, Chara doesn’t like japes very much either. It’s no skin off his back, he’s got a lot more than pranks to offer. Like puzzles, for instance. He promises there’s no strings attached, he had Sans remove all the nasty “Guard” stuff. He’s always trying to find a workaround to your fear, & will remove the presence of any & all “trickster” objects in the area the moment you step on to the scene. What a good friend.

Undertale SansHe would be heartbroken beyond belief. Possibly beyond repair too. Until Papyrus started acted like his normal self again, at least. Sans has dealt with some pretty horrible stuff in his life. But he’s always looked to Papyrus for light. But with that light extinguished… Sans is on the verge of mental breakdowns 24/7. He’ll begin to beg his brother to rethink things. He’ll try his best to make his brother revert back to the good, kind, loving person he knew before all of this.It doesn’t work.. And Sans gives up. More so than he’s ever given up before in his life… He sees no reason to continue. No reason to try. No reason to live..He doesn’t get up in the morning anymore. He just lays in bed and wishes he was dead. He’ll think back to when Papyrus was his sweet, loving, little brother, and he’ll cry. For hours. He can’t stop crying. He cries until he’s too exhausted to continue. And depression shatters his soul.If a reset occurs, and he’s brought back to life… Sans will never forget the terror and depression he felt during that timeline. And it doesn’t matter if Papyrus is evil in this new timeline or not. The memories are in his head and they’ll never go away. He accepts them as a possibility of a timeline. He begins to hate them almost as much as he hates the Genocide timelines.Underswap SansHaving grown up, raised by a mischievous, lazy, carrot dressed skeleton, Sans is used to the occasional trickster joke or prank. They’re never anything elaborate, much less mean. But it’s what Sans has grown used to. Accustomed to. He thought it would stay like that…When things changed… He didn’t know how he was supposed to react. He felt a sense of shock flood his body, and it was quickly replaced by fear. He thought Papyrus was sick. So he tried to get his brother to lay down and relax. But Papyrus refused. And everything after that became a blur…Sans found himself stuck on autopilot. He continued his days, but he felt no emotion as he did so. Unlike his Undertale counterpart, his life didn’t revolve around his brother. At least not as much as he realized it did. He was used to coming home and cooking dinner for someone who appreciated it. But now… He was lucky to get anything aside from an ugly frown.Papyrus wasn’t thoroughly evil. It wasn’t in his energy to be so. But it was the simple things that had changed. He didn’t talk as much. And before all this, he hadn’t spoken much anyway. He wasn’t good with words. When he spoke now, nothing but anger revealed itself.Sans began to wonder if he caused this. He wasn’t one to think that he we capable of something as horrible as creating a darker side to someone. Especially someone he loved. Especially someone he had tried so hard to show that he loved. But… he couldn’t help but feel that maybe he was the reason that Papyrus was so unhappy…He begins to do whatever his brother says. He doesn’t smile anymore. There was a time when he tried to convince Papyrus to return to how it was. But he’d long given up hope that it could happen. He’s a shell of his former self…Swapfell SansOut of no where, Papyrus yelled at him. He was outraged. No one yells that Great and Maleficent Sans! Especially not Papyrus! So Sans yelled back. And Papyrus continued to yell.Sans was okay for a day. Even he knew that his brother had bad days sometimes. And that was fine. He wasn’t going to change his behavior towards him just because of that. But he would keep his voice down just a bit more. Usually Pap’s bad days came accompanied by a headache. And Sans wasn’t heartless, despite what people claim him to be (skeleton jokes aside).But the “bad day” continued for a week. And then a month… And it kept going. And Sans was taken aback by it. He wasn’t sure how to react to this. So, as he does with all things he doesn’t understand, he got angry about it. He and Papyrus got into a huge fight one night. And Papyrus won. It wasn’t a physical fight. But it was still pretty nasty. Sans had left the living room, slamming his bedroom door closed behind him. What just happened? That–… no…. NONE of this has been normal. It’s not okay! None of this is okay! What happened?!He doesn’t bend to his brother will. Nor does he attempt to make his brother change back. Instead, he tries to use his brother’s new found anger to help him rise in ranks of the Guard.And it works. Not how he expected it to. People seemed to be a lot more scared of Papyrus now for some reason. Sans couldn’t figure out why. They should be scared of HIM. Not Papyrus! But never the less… This didn’t feel right. He felt… empty inside. Like he was missing something.On a restless night, Sans was contemplating everything he’d grown to know as life. And his brother’s smile showed up several times in his memories… That was it… Papyrus didn’t smile anymore… He was never happy. Sans curled up in his blankets, falling asleep to the thought that perhaps… perhaps he caused this. Perhaps he pushed his brother over the edge….He couldn’t forgive himself… This wasn’t what he wanted… Yet it’s what he asked for…
