I just thought it would be cool if the line came from a multiracial Morgan Martell.

The coming of the Rhoynar to Dorne is clearly inspired by Moorish Spain so I specifically chose a Spanish actor for Mors.

Nymeria of Ny Sar - Sofia Boutella

Since the inspirations for the Rhoynar are Moorish Spain and Dorne is Palestine, I focused on choose Maghrebi/North African and Palestinian faceclaims for the characters from here onward.

I think Sofia actually looks kinda like some of the drawings for Nymeria as well!

Morra Nymeros Martell - Hiam Abbass

I chose the name Morra because I thought Nymeria would want to name her first born, likely knowing there would be some push back against a woman inheriting, after the father whose seat she’d be taking over.

I also thought Morra would likely be a bit older considering Nymeria lived for so long

The Red Princes

We aren’t told why they rule together.

I figured that meant either they were triplets and the oldest decided they should rule together, or that the oldest was sickly and decided to give their siblings ruling power to help cover the gaps they wouldn’t be able to fill as a disabled ruler.

With that in mind, I tried to find people around the same age, and gave them all “M” names because George loves naming conventions like that. I like to believe Myria is the oldest and the disabled one, with Mellei as the leader of her forces and Manfrey as her right hand in Sunspear.

It should be pronounced MY-ree-uh.

I combined the “Ny” sound from Nymeria but with the M from Mors, then added the “ria” because a number of female Dornish names end in “ia.”

There’s a Dornish character named Manfrey, one of Doran’s cousins. 

Mellei Nymeros Martell - Nadia Hilker

One of the two servants that Doran assigns to Arianne is named Mellei.

Then and Now

For my dearest @toxicanonymity and her Raider Joel, the piece that inspired my most popular series to date.

Then. Right after Joel carved his name on her skin after she tried to escape. She’s still scared and confused a lot of the time, unsure if she’s making the right move. Joel is emotionally closed off, but as he sleeps, he looks at the exposed cuts and wonders if he did the right thing. It was for her own good, wasn’t it?

Now. Sweet Pea is happy, collared, taken care of. She has friendship with Carter, and even though Joel still holds a lot of secrets, he’s opening up bit by bit. Here, Joel is buckling her shoes after dressing her (and maybe fucking her on the table 👀) and Carter watches (after the fuckening is over), happy that she’s happy now.

Will we be seeing more of sweet Rosalee’s connection to her father? As an ultimate Daddy’s girl, I hope so. I showered with my Dad until I was in third grade and when they told me I had to start showering alone I refused to shower for like two weeks, I’d scream like if they were murdering me when they tried but my mom’s the tougher one and she was like “Nope she’s going to learn to shower alone!” So she waited me out haha. But even afterwards like in high school I’d have movie nights still with him and I’d lay on top of him on the couch and cuddle. My dad was honestly just the best. He was my best friend. When I had my first kid he went in the hospital room and checked on me first. It’s sad that some people would probably read this and think it’s weird that I was so close to my Dad but to me, it’s more sad that we live in a society where a Dad and daughter can’t be affectionate with each other after a certain age because of the world we live in. My cousins all hated me when I was young because my Dad was the fun uncle but I wouldn’t let him play with other kids! I asked him one time if I bugged him by always being with him but he told me that he was just always scared to fail me which blows my mind because I just always wanted to be near him that’s all I needed. Even after I had my own kid I’d go visit him and lay in the bed with him and bug him and my mom. When he would vacation without me, he would check in with me three times a day and yes, I have siblings but I was the only one who gravitated towards my Dad like that my sister and brother were all about my mom and I’d ask them why if Dad was better and my mom would get upset with me lol! Don’t get me wrong I love LOVE my mom and she knows I do it’s just a different connection. Hope you don’t mind me sharing my memories, Rosalee just wanting to shower with her Daddy and getting a kiss attack on her face until she smiled brought back happy times and I would love to see so much more of that especially because I’m sure Elvis was an amazing father to Lisa Marie too.

Oh my darling anon, this touched my heart so much. We are indeed the lucky ones to have our own connection and memories to draw on, makes me sad for others who would view it through the lens of our unfortunate and broken world. All of Lisa’s anecdotes suggest such a connection with Elvis, and even the way she respected and honored the man who was her daddy (even though she called him Elvis, haha) more than the legend she could have, touches me. I love it and have tried to bring that to Sarge and give a various connections to each kid but Rosalee is that one special baby who relies fully on him, and that’s quite the weight for him as Elaine is so capable he’s used to the kids finding her sufficient, but not this child, she needs him at all times and I think he’d love that and take it seriously.

All that to say, YES WE WILL GET SO MUCH MORE OF THEM including when she’s an adult and a child. from the moment the girl was born, she'd always been into fashion. Her parents could remember her picking her outfits at a very young age and modeling them like they were the best things in the entire world. Daphne never cared whether they matched or not. None of that mattered to her as long as it was something that she had put together all on her own and so, she regularly attended day care in princess costumes and paired it with whatever the hell she thought looked right, and all that mattered to her parents was that she was happy.

as she got older, she started collecting sketch books and drawing up designs of clothing she'd love to make on her own. For her 10th birthday, she asked for a sewing machine and she spent hours at her grandmother's house learning how to sew. She tried again and again until she got it right, and by the time she was fourteen, she was designing the clothes she wore. Being the only child of the St. Claire family, her parents couldn't be more proud that she was exploring something she loved. They continued to support her hobby and dream, and her mom often brought home fabric for Daphne to create something with whether it was for her or someone else.

As soon as she graduated high school, she moved to New York for fashion school and immediately found a love for designing gowns. She designed other things if she very well had to but her focus shifted from every day clothing to both prom dresses and wedding gowns. While she knew that she could make a bigger living out of it in New York, once she finished school she moved back home. After all, to her, there was no place like home and her parents were practically her best friends.

There really wasn't a place for her to use her skills once she got back and she started off working at a retail clothing store to make ends meet but both herself and her parents knew that wasn't what she was destined to do and so, her parents helped her open her own shop. That being, enchanted gowns where she designs all the gowns she sells and even goes as far as to do custom ones at a bride's request. She loves what she does and loves helping people find something to wear on their special days.

Asher was born and raised in Providence Peak. Pretty much raised by her oldest sister Sage considering their father checked-out when it came to Asher.

Being motherless and being the cause of that, left Asher with a chip on her shoulder. She felt unwanted and that anything she would touch would wither away. Led to a very rebellious and broody personality.

In layman's term, Asher is a textbook definition of an asshole. It has only been amplified and a mastered skill as she aged. She has a strong tendency of being short, blunt, rude, and a dick depending on the given situation. A poor coping mechanism, but better to cut to the truth than make it pretty.

The only saving grace beside her handful of friends and her sister was music. Asher had gravitated to music from a very young age and had a particular draw to the drums. Connecting with music was therapy for a brokenhearted girl who could not grapple and process her emotions.

Her drumming skills landed her with this indie-pop band called Midnight Circuit at the end of her high school career. One thing led to another and they had signed with a label record the summer after graduation.

It was a surreal moment to be performing on stage as Asher thought she'd never be able to get out of Providence Peak. For the next six years Asher was touring around the country, opening for big bands internationally, while living in and out of studios producing new albums.

Just as much as that was a surreal moment for Asher to perform with her friend in Midnight Circuits, that all came to a halt when she received a horrific phone call about her niece Ruby. Her sister, Sage, world had flipped on its head.

Stepping away from the band, Asher returned to Providence Peak to remain and take care of her sister while she grieved the death of her daughter.

It was a bittersweet time, but Asher made the most of it. Taking a job at the radio station, supporting Sage wherever she could, the bond they had when Asher was a child, reignited once more. It's been seven years since Asher returned to town and for better or worst, she is better for it.

Volunteers at Barks and Recreation twice a month. If it were up to her, she'd probably have several dogs right now. Instead, she has a mixed breed named Otto she adopted a year after returning back to Providence Peak.

Has thirteen tattoos scattered throughout her body. Each one of them have their own personal meaning. Her favorites are the sage leaves on her left forearm for Sage, a clam shell with a pearl for Maggie on her left ankle, and a ruby jewel in memoriam of Ruby on her right ankle.

Owns an extensive vinyl album library. Has over 4,000 vinyls. Collected through friends, record stores, yard sales, etc. Color coordinated, not alphabetized.

Still plays the drums and has helped with the album productions of Midnight Circuit since stepping away from the band as drummer. Zahid Avci was born in January 12th 1986 in Antalya, Turkey to Shazana Avci, who as a single mother struggled to provide stability to his life. With no father figure, he watched as the woman who was supposed to love and protect him drifted from relationship to relationship—often leaving him for weeks at a time with neighbors while she pursued the flavor of the month. He blamed himself, thinking there was something unlovable about him. But he was lucky for the kindness of strangers. At age 7, she finally grew some common sense and dropped him off with his grandfather—informing him she needed some time to ‘find herself.’ She would come back each time a relationship broke down and would promise to be a better mom. And like a gullible little fool, he believed it—helping her mend her heart—until another guy came along. On and on, this pattern went. What he didn’t get from his mother, his grandfather gave readily. Eren provided the steady home life Zahid craved. Under his grandfather's protective wings, he flourished. He learned to play soccer, and make impassioned speeches, which helped him with his speech impediment.

Tragically, when he was 20, his beloved grandfather passed away from cancer—leaving him all alone. By then, he was no longer in contact with Shazana. With no loved ones left in Turkey, Zahid decided to pursue a higher education in America. He had always dreamed of attending university abroad—his grandfather had even saved up for it—and saw this as his chance to start fresh. Arriving in America on a student visa, he worked hard to build a life for himself. He was accepted to the University of Arkansas in the Journalism program, took speech classes to perfect his English pronunciation, held down jobs between studies, and slowly acclimated to his unfamiliar surroundings. It was a lonely transition at first, but his charming personality helped him make friends easily. He was a bit of a Casanova on campus. The girls were crazy about the Turkish guy with an accent, and he played it up.

After graduation, Zahid stayed in Conway, Arkansas to begin his career. His natural charisma and ease of schmoozing with people led him to pursue work as a News Anchor. Starting at a small affiliate station, he quickly gained popularity as the evening news anchor. His next move came five years later, when he took a job as the Lead Anchor at a larger Little Rock station. His talent continued to garner attention, and soon he was offered an opportunity to anchor the evening news at the ABC affiliate in Covington. Still a bachelor with no family of his own, and seeing no need to settle down, he channeled his restless energy into his blossoming career. He recently moved into a downtown apartment, where he roomed with Ahalya Reddy, not knowing that one drunken night, he’d hit on her. near death experience…  it was just a day in july 2017 and waking up it felt like any other. he and celina had been living in new york for six months and he'd proposed two months into their move, he was riding on a high of ecstasy for his future as the pair planned and saved for the years to come together. he'd been out in an open marketplace when the screaming started and there came the weirdest sensation, what had happened was later found through descriptions on articles he had found ; an unidentified eo had been at the market (there are speculations that they didn't even know they were and eo) something had triggered their powers which in turn led them to have a meltdown on a radioactive level. people that were closest to the individual didn't stand a chance and people who were far enough away (like jayden) were hit with advanced radiation sickness. what was going on in his head when it all took place was the simple phrase 'ah shit' . jayden spent four months in the hospital studying what an event with eo like that does to a human body. four months he and his future bride were told constantly that his vision had suffered and he'd probably be blind and still battling complications due to radiation. when he left the hospital he'd shown them all how wrong, jayden left walking out and looking into their eyes as he shook the hands of everyone who had helped take care of him. even walking out he didn't feel quite right, but he plans and he couldn't let that small nagging feeling in the back of his skull drag him down. power…  heat vision leaves little to the imagination of what it is, jayden generates beams of heat from his eyes. he doesn’t know how hot it gets, he doesn't know how to properly control it (nor does he honestly care to learn), and he lives in somewhat fear that someone else is going to get hurt because he doesn't know what he's doing. it seems to fluctuate with extreme moods, a main one being anger. jayden learned that his miraculous healing came at a price two months out from leaving the hospital. not having been one to suffer nightmares before his nde they became a frequent thing when he was back at home, always the same thing of that eo at the market. one night during an episode celina tried to wake him up and there was little jayden could do when it came to saving her, considering the incident took out half their apartment it was ruled as a villain attack on citizens (much to jayden trying to make sense of it all to them). he still doesn't know anything about well anything, he does toy with the idea of joining cerberus but ultimately just wants to be left alone and try to live life trying to pass as normal. it's honestly a feat easier said than done when your eyeballs start glowing red when your upset. drawbacks / vulnerabilities…  lowkey always stressed out especially in crowds because he's not in full control of his powers. after use he gets intense searing migraines and blurry vision that can last for days. his main trigger seems to be anger looking past the night with celina. he hasn't explored his power so he couldn't even begin to guess what would happen over time or with prolonged use. codename…  it's not a codename so much as it's how he signs his work. it was celina who actually started calling him bluejay after they first met, it was the first time he was actually okay with someone giving him a nickname. part of him toys with the idea of actually changing it and part of him would rather just go by jayden ware and pretend everything is alright.

BIO HERE. 

Fenix Hunter Wilhelm was raised on the wealthier side of town alongside his twin sister Mikayla. Growing up people thought he was such a cute little kid with vast potential. He was his father's clone and the apple of his mother's eye. The Wilhelm Family was quite literally the picture of perfection. Until one icy night, Mrs. Wilhelm went out and never returned. The police called it a horrific accident, but accidents weren't supposed to happen to the Wilhelms. They did everything right. They followed the path of God and did everything they were supposed to. So why were they being punished? What awful thing did they commit to deserve such a tragedy? Their father tried to find answers at the bottom of a bottle while his two children chose other destructive paths to numb the pain. Mikayla met a new crowd of friends and began partying and Fenix fell into a pit of depression as he never felt more alone. Mikayla doesn't know it but he blames her for abandoning him. While she was bouncing around juvie, boot camp, and friends' houses, he was suffering alone in their big empty house.

Fenix began experimenting with pills when he found an unlabeled bottle in Mikayla's bedroom. A month later, he got into a motorcycle accident and the doctor was astounded by the number of drugs he had in his system. At their request, he was admitted into rehab and that's where he met his first real girlfriend. She was an artist and he admired her, but after an overdose almost took her life, her parents sent her away to live with her uncle. Fenix took out his anger by taking up a boxing class, but after three assault charges, he met an older gentleman in therapy who took him under his wing and taught him the spiritual discipline of karate.

Mr. Haitao became a father figure to Fenix, which broke his real father's heart. He lost his wife and then he lost his children. The stress of dealing with the twins drove him to an early grave when Mr. Wilhelm later died of a stroke. Fenix didn't know how to handle losing another parent and went off the rails again. He put three guys in the hospital and was sent to jail for over a year where he learned how to tattoo. When he was released he was covered in black ink and lost all respect for himself, and for everyone around him.

With nothing to hold onto but his insecurities and anger, Fenix joined a bad crowd and spent his twenties getting into fistfights and building a rap sheet longer than his arm. When all hope seemed lost, Fenix sunk to his lowest moment and got into his car drunk. He almost ran a mother and her small child off the road and when he realized he could have killed someone else's mother, he sold his car and stayed inside his room for five years. He isolated himself and worked on his art, drawing, painting, and sketching things that he would eventually sell online under the alias Ash. To rise like a phoenix from the ashes means to emerge from a catastrophe stronger, smarter, and more powerful. He wanted to emerge— to be reborn. To change for the sake of himself and his late parents. So he started slowly building himself back up and then helped fund a small dojo in town for young children and teens. He wanted to help change the lives of other angry undisciplined kids. Fenix thought if anyone could reach the troubled youth it would be him. And it was something his parents would have been proud of. On the back of every Karate-Gi, there is a phoenix rising, a symbol of strength and power. Fenix can't change his past but maybe he can save someone else's future.

BACKGROUND  [ basic. likely to be updated when i rewatch st. mostly season-based for shortness. ]

[ pre-series ] Flora didn’t grow up in Hawkins. She was raised mostly by her mother, Alice, who was forced into being a SAHM by her husband. Over her childhood, she was verbally abused by her father; her mother was verbally, and eventually physically, abused. The first time Wayne physically hurt Flora, after she’d tried to defend her mother, Alice snapped into action. 

Alice sent Flora to live with her sister, Flora’s aunt Cynthia, in Hawkins while she went through divorcing Wayne. Flora was 13 at the time. Three months in, to distract herself from what was going on with her parents and to get out of her aunt and uncle’s house, she took up babysitting and met the core 4. She sometimes joins them in playing dnd. 

[ season 1 ] Flora has been in Hawkins for a few years and is now 16. She’s not exactly popular in school, often regarded as the ‘weird quiet girl’. Her and her cousin rarely interact at school. Flora doesn’t talk about her past or why she moved to Hawkins or why she and her mother are living with family instead of in their own house. Her mother has been working Hawkins High as the counsellor for a year now. Flora got kept back a year due to bad attendance and low grades, often described as ‘quiet and distracted in class’ by teachers. 

As the boys’ babysitter, she’s protective of them and is quick to volunteer to look for Will when he disappears. Flora is friendly with Jonathan, but not-so-much with Nancy. When Flora isn’t out looking for Will, she and her mother are trying to comfort and help Joyce. She quickly grows protective of Eleven.

[ season 2 ] Alice sets up Joyce and Bob Newby. Flora gets a job at Palace Arcade for extra money; plus she’d been spending a lot of time there since they got a Ms Pac-man machine in. She holds the high score and the boys delight in trying to beat it. Flora’s quiet persona at school comes around to bite her when she’s paired up with Billy in class. Later, after finding out she’s friends with the boys, he threatens her that she should ‘keep Lucas away from Max or else’. Flora warns Lucas that getting in with Max will put him in danger, but also Max since she can draw similarities between Billy and her own father albeit simply telling Lucas that she believes Billy is abusive and his father likely is too. While attending Tina’s party with her cousin, she spends most of the night locked up in a bathroom and generally having a bad time. She witnesses Steve and Nancy’s fight. 

Dustin initially just asks Steve to help get rid of Dart, but Flora finds out and joins them since she has the archery skills to deal with it from afar. She hauls up onto the top of the bus in the junkyard to shoot the demodogs. Flora has a panic attack when Billy shows up to get Max and fights Steve; hence Max ends up driving while Flora treats Steve’s injuries and tries to calm down. 

[ season 3 ] Flora gets a new job at Starcourt Mall’s Time-Out Arcade. She quickly makes friends with Robin and hangs out at Scoops on her breaks. She and Robin are classmates at Hawkins High due to Flora’s grade retention in freshman year. Flora takes a day off work to join the younger teens in welcoming Dustin back from camp. She ends up joining up with the mall group trying to figure out the weird Russian codes. 

She’s against Erica going up in the air vents, but nobody can tell Erica what to do. She ends up stuck in the elevator with them down to the Russian HQ. Short in stature, she’s able to escape with Erica and Dustin while Robin and Steve are caught. After escaping the HQ, she helps defeat the Mindflayer. She’s not particularly upset by Billy’s death, though still steps in to comfort Max and make sure everyone is okay. She’s more devastated by Hopper’s (apparent) death. She and Alice help the Byer’s pack up to move to California. 

[ season 4 ] Flora returns to her Palace Arcade job in her senior year. She’s seen giggling during Eddie Munson’s dramatics at lunch. Earlier that year, she’d been pleaded by Dustin, Lucas and Mike to drive them to hellfire club during a rainy night. When Dustin and Mike recruit Erica into being Lucas’ replacement, they drag Flora into driving them again since she was supposed to be babysitting Erica. She ends up staying at the club, forced into playing with her old dnd character, Astar. Eddie attempts slight flirting with Flora during his dming, but she doesn’t notice after getting caught up in the game. 

Flora doesn’t believe for a second that Eddie killed Chrissy. She attempts to find him by herself before finding out Max, Dustin, Steve and Robin are also looking for him. She helps in calming Eddie down when they find him and is able to take the broken bottle from him. She ends up with the teen group in the water gate, being the second-to-last to dive in, telling Eddie he doesn’t have to come but ‘this is just what (they) do now’. She heads up at the back of the group by herself with her bow. While momentarily distracted, she’s hit in the face by a lone demobat and ends up with a bloody nose. 

They eventually make it out of the upside-down and head off to the War Zone. She sticks to Erica’s side in the store and keeps her away from the basketball boys. She puts together a bunch of ‘fire arrows’ and is teamed-up with Eddie and Dustin. Steve tells Eddie and Dustin to not be heroes while Flora finishes getting ready; Eddie says that Flora is more likely the hero type. 

Flora allows herself to enjoy their little ‘metal show’ in the upside-down. As the demobats appear, Flora shoots her fire arrows at the swarm, though only manages to take out a few. In escaping, she’s convinced by Eddie to go through the gate first, only noticing when she’s on the other side that he isn’t following her. She tells Dustin to stay there while she goes back through, managing to get through without any injury. She races out to follow after Eddie, taking out a few outskirting demobats as she does but before she can reach him, she’s attacked by a stray demobat that latches onto her leg. In her panic to get it off her and to get to Eddie, she ends up cutting up her calf with her knife while stabbing at the demobat. By the time she reaches Eddie, it’s too late. She does to best to try and stem the bleeding, but nothing works and he eventually ‘dies’ in her arms, holding Dustin’s hand. As they leave, Flora sneakily takes Eddie’s necklace, later seen wearing it, albeit the guitar pick is hidden under her shirt.

Flora spirals back in the real world. She doesn’t help the others with donations and aiding those affected by the ‘earthquake’. She briefly visits Max in hospital, also making sure that Lucas and Erica are okay. 

Secretly she plans to re-enter the upside-down to retrieve Eddie’s body but when she does, she’s shocked to find that it’s not where it was left.

Nice to meet you. - thank you for asking. I have one major OC - Katsuko, who lives in a multiverse series that mostly takes place within the canon universe of Ikemen Sengoku. Katsuko (and her brother) time travelled to Sengoku Japan when she was 18. She was adopted by a spymaster ("Aki" - also an OC) and trained as a scout/courier/spy. The series takes place seven years after that. She is skilled in archery, self defense, and has basic swordsmanship skills, but she's not a warrior. Her motto is defend until you find an opening, then run away.

Everything about her would be kind of a long list (since I've written an 18,000-word origin story plus three longfics about her), but here goes:

Her brother has been missing since the day they arrived in the Sengoku.

Childhood basics - raised by a single mother in Nagano Japan; father unknown; her mother is now dead; she did a little bit of gymnastics as a child, mostly recreationally (she wasn't ever competitive on a national level); she loved to snowboard; she practiced urban parkour; used to skip school to go snowboarding; had a cat named Tony Stark (who died a couple years before she went back in time); she was a vegetarian in modern Japan, but in the Sengoku, she's learned to eat what is available (with the exception of mushrooms, which she hates).

She has a horse named Moonlight. The horse hates getting wet, and will often dump Katsuko in a mud puddle if she's taking her out in the rain.

About two years after she time travelled, one of the other spies working for Aki tried to kill her (he tricked her into a crate and sealed it shut), which has left her with claustrophobia.

In her job as courier, she dresses as a boy and goes by "Katsu." Her disguise is so good that few people realize her true gender.

On the day she went back in time, she had turquoise streaks in her hair, but upon arrival in feudal Japan, Aki's housekeeper thought the streaks were indications of a demon, and chopped then out of Katsu's hair. Since then, Katsu has had really bad hair, especially since she herself has the bad habit of trimming it herself with a dagger.

present !!

walt academy was the main draw for marinette. hours researching in her bedroom with her best friend, countless mental breakdowns over what was the right decision, they all brought her to one singular school. sure, it’s no institut français de la mode, but she’d tried that and failed miserably. apparently, multitasking isn’t exactly appreciated when you’re expected to earn your place among the greats with exceptional work every single week. and being a superhero was quite a taxing second job, or at that point, a second life for marinette. it had become impossible to combine the two, and together they threatened to destroy her. her friends noticed, and pulled her out. at first, she wasn’t even sure another school would be the right choice for her; after all, being ladybug and protecting paris from evil was her main purpose in life, but marinette had never chosen anything for herself, only ever for the good of the people around her. despite how difficult it was to believe, it was time for her to choose marinette for once.

so walt academy it was. she left behind her old life ( well, sort of. she brought her superhero alter-ego with her, because you never know when a shouted ‘spots on !’ can come in handy in the middle of an unknown country, state, and city ) and packed up her things. it was stressful, but she knows in the end everything will probably be worth it. and if not, at least she can say honestly that she tried her best. she just has to learn to navigate her new life, and to accept that it’s okay if she fails again. there’s no harm in that. but hey, try telling that to someone who has told themselves for over ten years that she needs to be perfect no matter the costs, or people get hurt.

now in elias, marinette once again holds down a parttime job while studying ( and occasionally scouting the rooftops for trouble ), but things are much more manageable than they were. with expert counselling and understanding professors, there’s a nice balance for her and easy adjustments to make. but still, she’s not sure if this is the right place for her. she might not ever be.

past !!

marinette’s life truly began at the age of thirteen. it was an incredibly young age to be burdened with saving the capital city of france, if not sometimes the world, but she bravely shouldered it for the good of everyone. an old man gave her a pair of spotted earrings, and just like that her world had changed. she was now the holder of the ladybug miraculous of creation, the power to restore evil done. but every action has its equal and opposite reaction, and creation cannot exist without destruction. so ladybug had her partner against crime, chat noir. and things were well.

with powerups, upgrades and friends who tagged along on their adventures when the dynamic duo needed a bit of help, things, in fact, were well for a long time. evil remained, but the miraculous gang was able to keep it in check and save the citizens of paris time and time again. everyone casually overlooked the fact that it was a bunch of children saving them, of course, or it was the magic of the miraculous. no one knew. 

eventually, everyone completed their end of year exam and graduated, including marinette. now an adult, she had choices to make, and went with the one she pressured herself into; fashion school in paris. it was the most obvious choice for her, with her outstanding designs that caught the eye of gabriel agreste himself. things went well for the first few weeks; she observed many of the great minds of fashion, saw how they worked and took interesting classes she actually enjoyed. but the first two assessment periods gave marinette a much-needed reality check; she could not continue being ladybug while turning in less-than-mediocre work at the single most prestigious fashion institute in the world. dividing her time between working her ass off to barely pass classes and literally saving the city was taking a toll on her performance in both fields, and she broke down. finally, she made the decision for herself and came to walt academy for a fresh start.

she’s retained much of her childhood self after her reality checks, mainly her insecurity. things at walt are easier, but there will always be that looming threat of failure due to her past experiences in paris. her sense of determination and independence also hasn’t gone away, coupled with the fact that she still hides half of her life from the world. thankfully, she’s learned to be less clumsy ( thank you, etiquette lessons ) and to keep her explosive anger in check... somewhat. it’s something that sticks with you after being judge, jury and executioner for so long. 

future !!

i’d like for marinette to build a new life in elias. i don’t want her to forget her roots, because paris will always be close to her heart, but that sense of a second home would be ideal. though she hides it, her heart is still pretty set on adrien, but you never know ! i’m open to any and all connections for her. i want her to have some success in the fashion industry, to see her hard work paid off, but ultimately it’ll be a toss-up between her passions; baking with her family, designing with the greats, and fighting crime with her partners. 

of course, success cannot come with at least a few failures, and no one becomes a star overnight. marinette is far from done with learning from her mistakes and she needs to make a few more to discover who she is; because that’s what this journey is truly about.

i  .  WALKING  THROUGH  A  WORLD  GONE  BLIND  —  CECILY  LIGHTWOOD  grew  up  in  a  small  town  about  an  hour  from  moorbrooke  .  she  was  the  product  of  an  affair  her  mother  had  ,  that  resulted  in  her  split  from  her  first  husband  .  the  divorce  was  bitter  ,  and  it  did  not  take  long  for  marina  to  marry  cecily’s  father  .  he  was  cruel  ,  an  alcoholic  and  incredibly  controlling  of  his  wife  .  he  wanted  complete  control  over  marina  and  cecily  ,  as  well  as  cecily’s  half-siblings  when  they  stayed  with  their  mother  .  cecily  kept  to  herself  as  a  child  ,  trying  not  to  draw  attention  .  

        when  cecily  was  thirteen  ,  her  father  sent  her  to  the  store  ,  and  she  was  hit  by  a  car  on  her  way  home  .  her  right  leg  broke  .  her  parents  told  the  driver  they’d  handle  things  ,  and  sent  them  on  their  way  .  they  didn’t  take  cecily  to  the  hospital  ,  and  instead  let  her  leg  heal  on  its  own  .  it  healed  ,  but  it  wasn’t  right  ,  and  it  resulted  in  her  walking  with  a  limp  ever  since  .  when  it  was  eventually  discovered  that  her  parents  were  so  neglectful  ,  she  was  already  fifteen  .  her  half-siblings’  father  hadn’t  known  ,  but  offered  for  cecily  to  move  into  his  home  while  she  completed  high  school  .  

        she  attended  bowdoin  ,  and  started  as  a  history  major  ,  but  switched  to  art  when  she  took  a  class  and  was  so  inspired  by  the  professor  that  she  decided  to  stay  .  art  has  provided  her  with a  good  output  for  her  emotions  .

ii  .  CAREFUL  CREATURE  MADE  FRIENDS  WITH  TIME  —  it  was  during  her  university  years  that  she  met  her  EX-BOYFRIEND  ,  who  had  lived  in  moorbrooke  all  his  life  .  they  hit  it  off  ,  and  dated  up  for  a  few  years  on  and  off  .  the  break-up  was  mutual  ,  both  just  no  longer  wanting  the  same  things  but  agreeing  to  stay  friends  .  she’d  assumed  it  would  be  one  where  they’d  simply  lose  contact  like  was  typical  ,  but  she  found  out  she  was  pregnant  about  a  month  after  .  and  while  they  didn’t  get  back  together  ,  they  agreed  to  co-parent  and  have  been  doing  so  peacefully  since  ,  despite  pressure  from  his  family  to  get  married  .

iii  .  BURNING  CITIES  &  NAPALM  SKIES  —  she  moved  to  moorbrooke  so  her  children  ,  KAZPAR  and  KAROLINA  would  be  near  their  father  .  things  were  okay  at  first  ,  until  her  ex  started  dating  another  girl  ,  and  the  girl  tried  to  involve  herself  in  cecily’s  pregnancy  ,  and  then  over-involving  herself  in  the  twins’  lives  while  simultaneously  trying  to  poison  them  against  cecily  .  cecily  was  relieved  when  her  ex  finally  ended  things  with  her  ,  though  it  would  not  resolve  the  remaining  issues  the  parents  now  have  .

iv  .  FALLING  INTO  THOSE  OCEAN  EYES  —  cecily  became  very  successful  as  an  ARTIST  ,  and  started  working  at  the  university  part  time  teaching  studio  arts  ,  for  something  to  do  while  the  twins  are  in  preschool  .  she’s  become  reasonably  well  known  as  well  .  because  of  her  art  ,  she’s  able  to  afford  a  maple  court  apartment  with  an  ocean  view  ,  and  while  she  aims  to  purchase  a  house  with  a  garden  for  the  twins  ,  they’re  perfectly  happy  with  the  apartment  for  now  .  

however  ,  while  cecily  tries  to  put  on  this  image  of  being  PERFECT  ,  good  at  her  jobs  and  balancing  her  work  and  home  life  perfectly  ,  she’s  constantly  exhausted  .  she  was  diagnosed  with  insomnia  during  her  college  years  ,  and  between  that  and  waking  up  every  time  the  twins  do  ,  she  doesn’t  get  much  sleep  .  

      but  she  is  a  generally  happy  person  ,  and  so  long  as  no  one  notices  that  she’s  secretly  falling  apart  a  little  ,  she  thinks  she’ll  be  fine  .
