“Turn to Nature when people are absent. She has the cure for loneliness. She will welcome you like no one else. She will put you into her cradle and accept you for who you are. Her birds will sing a song for you, her winds will blow away your bad thoughts, and her rushing waters will bring calm to your upset mind.”

Zelenci Nature Reserve, Slovenia
Tumblr media
Experience nature's palette at its colourful best, where visitors can witness a breathtaking natural water reserve at the meeting point of three countries. At Zelenci Springs, where Italy, Austria and Slovenia meet near the Kranjska Gora region in Triglav National Park, multiple springs combine to form a crystal-clear, aquamarine lake, a source for the Sava Dolinka River, which feeds into the Danube River.
Covering an area of only 1,200 metres in length and 150 metres wide, the Zelenci Nature Reserve was declared an ecological site due to its vast array of plants and wildlife in 1992. Fascinating fact: If a visitor peeks closely into the lakebed, they'll spot exquisite springs that resemble underwater volcanoes beneath the surface. Despite any harsh weather conditions prevailing above ground, underground water temperatures stay around 5 degrees Celsius, always flowing but never freezing over, even in winter.

Hello, how's your trip going? 💌
Hey, it’s great so far but super tiring! On the first day, I was all caught up on my photos and videos but quickly fell behind. 😂 My photos from Zagreb, Croatia are ready so I’ll share those. Yesterday we went to Slovenia and went to Ljubljana and parts of Triglav National Park. It’s a nice area but very cold and it started raining towards the end of the day. And last night, we made the long journey to Trieste, Italy so that’s where I’m at right now. Today we’re going to explore Istria (Rovinj and Pula maybe) and then stay in Rijeka for the night. We’re slowly making our way down the coast so tons of driving. Sorry for blabbing but thanks for asking! Hope all is well with you. ❤️
Btw of course stuff happens when I’m gone but I’m happy to see that Van’s alive. But Van honey, quit unliking posts! You’re making things worse by unliking them! 😂🙈 He’s so weird, haha. ❤️
