Linked Universe Survey 2023
The long awaited results of the survey. Sorry it took me forever, making graphs is hard.
There were 452 responses to the survey as a whole, which is almost double what we got last year, so thank you to everyone who participated!
If you want to see the raw data, you can find that here. I had thoughts about the data, but compiling that into another post would be too much of a hassle. Feel free to send me asks about it though!
The rest of the post will be under a read more as it it large

was extremely tempted to put twilight for least favorite. unfortunately he is my favorite to write from the perspective of (he has taken over most of my wips. help) and that probably counts for something. WILD on the other hand. hooo boy how the hell do i characterize this gargoyle. why is he Like That. least favorite it is

very good fandom to be in :) everybody is very nice
It's a straight up crime that Wars lost the aesthetics poll so quickly. He has such a peak Link design with the best colors. Ugh I'm getting wistful.
FROGS. FROGS. FROGS. ALSO HAPPY PRIDE MONTH. FROGS. FROGS. FROGS. FROGS. FROGS.
I will fight Hylia herself and the next person who implies Twi can't handle spice. If we're going to lean into him being southern/Midwestern, which is an alright stero type for our rancher, please keep in mind the culture you're basing him off. The south and midwest can handle their spice, I assure you. Have you ever had authentic Louisiana gumbo? It will melt you tongue off. Or some good old fashion spicy fried chicken? I promise the real stuff has quite a kick. (In all seriousness, though. It's more important that you're having fun. And even I can admit the idea of Twi being an Ordonian who can't handle his spice is more than a little funny.)
I am an OoT Link edgelord and have been since early 2017. So, in September of that year, when an artist by the name of jojo56830 puts out a lineup of nine different Links and the Hero of Time is there – the oldest, no eye, Hero’s Shade armor? I saw that one sketch and just thought “oh this is gonna be bad.” Yeah of course he has the coolest design. By the way, it’s only a matter of time until Fierce Deity shows up in the comic and I have reason to believe it could be this current Dawn arc. Dawn … Dawn of a New Day … and who brought about the Dawn of a New Day? Fierce Deity. Twilight is recovering but still injured and what will happen if he falls again? Fierce Deity is coming and we need to be prepared. In this essay I will—
Remember that time when someone put the whole script of the bee movie in here? I’m not that dedicated, and I don’t have that time, but let us remember and hope someone else does it again this time. Cause someone is bound too. We’re all crazy enough to do it. Alright, love you and stay hydrated pls!
Hi! I joined this fandom really recent but i’ve always seen LU stuff on pinterest and elsewhere. Only recently have i actually took the time to understand the fandom and get back into LOZ stuff and i adore the characters and story! The more and more fanart, fanfics, and comics i see about the different Links the more i love them all. It’s such a pain to pick just one i like or one i don’t like because they’re all so unique. I love this fandom and hope to get more involved!! Have a wonderful rest of your day :]
Epona is an underrated queen

I really don't get why Zelda is called Artemis. Athena makes more sense???? It perplexes me
Anyone seeing this should check out Breanna’s E!Wild AU

Nonbinary language is awesome! It's amazing! Enban, xenic, diamory, maverique, abinary, neopronoun, androgyne, trixic, duosex, enby, exorsexism, ceterosexual, salmacian, there are many such examples of beautiful nonbinary vocabulary.
Our language gets held down and smothered by binary people who call it "cringe" or "weird" or "gen z/alpha" or "artificial" or "too new". All language is created for purposes! Everything has a start, everything was once new.
Use our language! Make it common, make it normal, even if it's only amongst other enben. Don't let exorsexists demoralise you into letting our nonbinary vocabulary fall into obscurity when it's objectively amazing. Erasing a community's language removes their culture, removes their visibility, removes their identity. Don't let exorsexists remove your identity. Our language is not weird, our language is not too new. It may be obscure but with common usage, it won't become obsolete.

flowers for u > 🌻🏵️🌺💮🌼🌻🏵️🌺💮🌼
also a four leaf clover 🍀
this is so sweet, thank you so much. 💛
giving this energy to people affected by exorsexism who follow this blog too.
just remember that being outside of the binary is a beautiful thing and there is no wrong way to do so. if you don't have a gender, you're beautiful. if you relate to the gender binary in some way, you're incredible. if your gender is neutral, you are amazing. if you have multiple genders, you are powerful. if your gender is fluid, you are marvellous. if your gender can only be described with concepts, objects or similar, you are radiant. if you have a partial gender, you are perfect. if you don't label your gender, you are awesome. if your gender is not related to the binary, you are outstanding. if you are questioning your gender, you are phenomenal. if your gender is specific to your culture, you are astonishing. if your gender is outside the binary and you don't identify as nonbinary, you are fabulous. if i didn't describe your gender here, you are still excellent and you matter so, so much.
shoutout to people who law gender leads to using terms that "don't go together". shoutout to nonbinary cis people, to enbyhets, to lesboys, to turigirls, to afab transfems, to amab transmascs, to boygirls. i love all of you.
shoutout to people whose genders lead to using terms that don't get much visibility. shoutout to trixics, torics, enbians, cenelians, maveriques, neutrois people, diamorics, pera people and so many more. i love you so much.
shoutout to people who avoid any gendered terms altogether. shoutout to people who just want to be called a person. shoutout to people who don't use gender-specific orientation terms. i love you, always.
shoutout to people outside the binary whose experience is often overlooked. shoutout to Black people, indigenous people and other people of colour, to disabled people, to fat people, to intersex people. i love you forever.
i love this community and our infinite diversity so much. things often feel so dire for us but gosh, you all are so loved.

Non-binary Lesbian, Trixic, and NBLW Identities
Sooo... there's some controversy around these.
Being a non-binary lesbian is considered invalid despite the fact that lesbian culture has historically embraced genderqueer identities. It's also a combination of two fairly common labels that most people understand, but femme-aligned non-binary people are supposed to go by something else apparently.
But, then trixic is also considered invalid because its very existence suggests that non-binary and genderqueer lesbians don't exist? Even if the non-binary person using this term does not consider their gender identity to be that exclusively femme. (On a side note, nobody ever knows what the hell this term means so I refuse to use it. I love and feel so at home with the flag, though.)
Personally, I as an afab individual, consider my attraction to women to be queer, so I like the idea of nblw for non-binary loving women. And this term seems to be a middle ground between the other two, right? Yeah, except for that little 'nb' for non-binary. That's just not... no. (And I'm very sure I'm not the only one who feels that way.)
I have seen nbylw used maybe once before? (Why not enbylw? I don't know.)
In conclusion, invalidity sucks, stop. We have so much more to worry about than how others describe themselves. And, just so we're clear, ALL forms of invalidity can be seriously depressing. If you've ever been told that it's a phase, you should 100% know better.
(Label collecters, queerbaiters, queer fetishizers, and legitimate community fakes are a totally different matter. Most of them, believe it or not, are not non-binary lesbians, though so, keep an open mind.)
We all have our place within the rainbow.

trans/enby and ace+aroflux culture is feeling bad for saying you're trans+aroace because you only are on a technicality, and saying trans in conjunction with "aroace lesbian" makes me sound like a trans woman, although really im enby and trixic and only say "trans aroace lesbian" because people kept saying i had too many labels and nobody was going to take me seriously

rebranding.
this blog was previously called mestric-culture is but is now called mestric-diaries. i have found that mestric is not a term that is well known enough for a culture blog to actually get a lot of submissions, and there are already other culture blogs for specific mestric identities like @trixic-culture-is.
i have decided to turn this into a general mestric blog to share information about different mestric identities, mestricism as a whole, as well as for mestric people to share experiences and questioning folk asking for advice etc. basically if you're mestric yourself or interested in mestricism, this blog may interest you. 🌻
more info explaining what mestric is will follow.

We just finished the whole LGBTQ flag merge game, and it was surprisingly helpful! So we wanted to make a collection of all the flags/terms in it (so far.)
The idea is, if anyone gets curious about a term, we tell them it's definition.
If any term is offensive in any way, please let us know; we are listing off the app.
The list is in the order on the app, so if it's a bit confusing, blame it on the app.

Sapphic vs lesbian? What's the difference?
Hey anon! Good question: sapphic is derived from Sappho, a figure in Greek eras who was an influence on the women-loving-women culture/spaces.
Sapphic means just that; women who love women. Whether they be lesbians, bisexual women, pansexual women, trixic people, etc. Like I’m sapphic even tho I really like men, bc I’m still a woman who is attracted to women.
Soooo all lesbians are sapphic, but not all sapphics are lesbians. It’s an umbrella term.
Tysm for asking! Have a nice day :)

A Spoiler free introduction to Legacies
Tumblr media
~About the illustrator and writer~
Hi, my main blog is @crystalsandbubbletea, but you can feel free to call me 'Crystals', 'Crystal', 'Bubble Tea', 'Bubble', 'Tea', and/or 'Rian'! I am a teenager with ADHD, Autism, and possibly anxiety. I am also nonbinary (They/Xe/Ve/Zir pronouns), Trixic (NBLW), Demisexual, Demiromantic, and Polyamorous.
My other blogs are: @crystalsandbubbletea-art, @crystalsclangencorner, @crystals-ocs-ask-blog (Still a W.I.P :'}), @crystals-warriors-rewrite, and @berat-adil-emre-yukime (An account where I RP as my OC and answer any questions about them)
I started working on Legacies when I was about fourteen. I originally planned on making it an AO3 series, until I realized that I loved drawing comics more than writing.
Currently working on: Issue 1
(More under the cut)
Now... Onto the information about Legacies
Legacies serves as an alternate history (And somewhat fanfiction as there are Demon Slayer elements in it-) in the first arc (The 'Shadows' Arc), then it eventually becomes what my sister describes as "A horrible Frankenstein mash-up of Red vs Blue, Hollow Knight, and Halo with some RWBY-esque elements".
The protagonist of the first arc is Alex Adil Emre Yukime, a polyamorous nonbinary lesbian living in the Ottoman Empire during World War One. The protagonist of all the arcs after that is Berat Adil Emre Yukime, a nonbinary who's also polyamorous, trixic, demisexual, and demiromantic.
⚠️WARNING: Legacies covers triggering subjects such as war, genocide, queerphobia, ableism, racism, sexism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, suicide, and sexual assault. I have based both protagonists experiences of queerphobia, suicide, ableism, and sexual assault off my own experiences. I will be sure to add trigger warnings to the chapters that contains any of the triggers.⚠️
NOTE: Legacies is also a Pro-Palestine series, so if you're anti-Palestine, this series is not for you. Issue 3 will largely revolve around Palestinian culture as well.
Feel free to ask any questions about Legacies! (Key: 📁👀 = If you want an answer that contains spoilers. 📚😑 = If you want an answer that doesn't have spoilers)
Tumblr media
Also, please check the pinned post on my main blog to see my full DNI list.
ALSO...
Legacies DOES contain OC x Canon!
