Hiroko/Laura and Kana go to Welldonald's (???) in Hamtaro (2000) episode 12
I can't read the full sign, at first I thought it was just a WcDonald's but it looks like it actually says Uiru, do Wheeldonalds? But the character after the Ru looks like Su, so it's Virusnald's...? But the logo is a W...
Edit: I mixed up エ and イ, it's not Virus, it could be Well, Welldonald's!

Hamtaro interview at Cancam
Q1: Let’s get straight to the point. What exactly have you been doing the past year? A1: I’ve been wandering around to and fro with my rucksack. Q2. What’s one of your hobbies? A2: Digging through the earth! Q3: What’s one of your special skills? A3: Climbing up trees! *A bit unsure on this one Q4: Is there something you’ve been addicted to recently? A4: Tossing around sunflower seeds! Q5: It’s the last summer of the Heisei era! Is there something you want to do? A5: Heisei?(Editor’s note: Hamtaro didn’t understand the question) (Translator’s note: Eras in Japan are defined by the succession of emperors. The end of the Heisei era is likely around April of 2019, hence the summer of 2018 is the last summer of the Heisei era) Q6: Oh, speaking of summer, what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about summer? A6: The sea! Especially the taste of the salty air. Q7: Besides sunflower seeds, what other foods do you like to eat? A7: I’ll eat anything! (There’s an editor’s note here but I’m not sure how to translate it) *Slightly loose translation on the answer Q8: Please think of a recipe you like with sunflower seeds! A8: A sunflower seed salad… on a cake!(Editor’s note: Apparently that exists) Q9: A question for the sunflower seed master. Is it true that sunflower seeds cure hangovers? A9: Hm? I’ve never had a hangover, so I wouldn’t know. Q10: What animals do you like? A10: I like dogs like Brandy! Especially since he always gives me a ride. Q11: About how many hours of sleep do you get each day? A11: A lot! (Editor’s note: It seems that he sleeps for at least 20 hours a day) Q12: Is there something you do before going to bed? A12: I go “kushikushi” to groom myself! Q13: What do you spend your days doing? A13: Playing, eating, and sleeping! Q14: This year’s summer has been really hot. Do you have any recommendations on how to beat the heat? A14: I would dig a tunnel underground, where it’s cooler! Q15: I can’t get a boyfriend! What should I do? A15: You should focus not on being loved by someone, but instead on loving others! Q16: Tell us what type of girl you like? A16: The type who reads CanCam! (Translator note: This is just an advertisement for the site, CanCam.jp, that published this interview) Q17: What’s the most fashionable type of clothing for a girl to wear? A17: ...Going bare? Q18: ...Well then, what about the coolest clothing for guys to wear? A18: Going bare! (Translator note: We’re not kidding, this is actually what it says) Q19: What are some words that make you happy when you hear them? A19: “Tomorrow will be even more fun!” Q20: When you’re feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself back up? A20: Hm… Sleep! Q21: Is there somewhere that you’d really like to go? A21: An icy mountain! Q22: If you could become a human being for one day, what would you try to do? A22: I would try to appear on the front cover of CanCam! *There is a “matto” in the answer that I have no idea what it could possibly mean. Nibbling on the mat? What mat? Q23: What’s a time when you feel happy? A23: When I’ve gnawed enough at a mat! Q24: By the way, do you happen to read CanCam? A24: It’s something that I chew up! Q25: If you won 300,000,000 yen in the lottery, what would you do with it? A25: I would nibble on it! (Translator’s note: That’s about 3 million USD, 2.6 million euros, etc) Q26: Please teach us a useful Ham-chat we can use from now on! A26: Hamha! You can use this as a greeting. Q27: I want to hear a freestyle rap from Hamtaro! A27:Ham-ham-hamha, ham-hamha!Vehicle number, ham-hamha! Q28: Please say something to all the Hamtaro fans! A28: I want you to look at our site and our Twitter! https://sho.jp/hamutaro https://twitter.com/tottokohamutaro Once more, thank you very much Whippu for your amazing work!

Hamha hamigos! Mika here with an interesting question that’s been running through my head for a couple days. What are the Japanese names of the locations in the games? It’s a weird question sure, but it’s still an interesting question. I went and looked up a Japanese playthrough of Ham Ham Heartbreak to start off since that’s the most popular to start off with.
Sunny Peak: Trotting Mountain (Tottoko Yama/とっとこやま)
Could also be Mt. Trotting considering yama can be used for the shortening. Tottoko is very common in Hamtaro with the Japanese title for Hamtaro being Tottoko Hamutaro, the JP intro song being Tottoko no Uta and the beach they always go to is Tottoko no Misaki.
Sandy Bay: Sunrise Coast (Hinode Kaigan/ひのでかいがん)
This one gave me the most confusion, I thought it’d be separated as Hi no Dekai Gan considering the location names are squished all into one word. Jorge and I tried to decipher it as Sun’s Big Crash considering hi in the context of a beach would be the sun and Dekai is big and Gan could be used as an onomatopoiea for crashing or thudding or something big hitting. We thought it could be something like the sun beating down considering you’re at the beach but we couldn’t find a way for it to make sense. Later I looked up the locations for Rainbow Rescue (we’ll do the rest of the game locations over several days) and noticed that Sparkle Coast also has kaigan in it’s name. I looked it up and Kaigan is Coast and looked up Hinode is Sunrise. Therefore Sandy Bay is Sunrise Coast. Kaigan can also be used as beach, shore, etc.
Fun Land: Amusement Park (Yuuenchi/ゆうえんち)
Now this is where things get literal. Yuuenchi is straight up Amusement Park or Fun Park. No special names or anything. I thought it would be Fun Land in Japanese and they just didn’t touch it in translation.
Boo Manor: Ghost Manor (Obake Yashiki/おばけやしき)
Pretty close translation. I will say that Obake can also be used for things like goblins and monsters, it’s just one of those words that has multiple translations again. Looking up yashiki I’ve had a description for it being the estate of a daimyo but other translations have it as mansion or manor.
Wildwoods: Jungle (Jyanguru/ジャングル)
Just Jungle in English. Notice that katakana is used instead of hiragana.
Spat Tower: Castle (Oshiro/おしろ)
Another literal, an interesting fact that it’s just a random castle and not belonging to either Spat, Harmony or anyone else.
And that’s all the locations in Ham Ham Heartbreak, stay tuned for our coverage of Ham Hams Unite, Rainbow Rescue and Ham Ham Games later~
