The Role of Private Fish Hatcheries in Utah's Aquaculture Industry
Utah's private fish hatcheries play a crucial role in the state's aquaculture industry. These facilities are responsible for breeding, hatching, and raising various species of fish to support the demand for fish in Utah's waters. Private fish hatcheries are essential in maintaining healthy fish populations, supporting recreational fishing, and contributing to the overall economy of the state.
One of the prominent private fish hatcheries in Utah is the Cover River Ranch. This hatchery is dedicated to producing high-quality fish for stocking lakes, ponds, and rivers throughout the state. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art technology and best practices to ensure the health and sustainability of the fish they produce. Cover River Ranch is committed to meeting the needs of Utah's anglers and conservation efforts.
Utah Private Fish Hatcheries play a significant role in supporting the state's fisheries management efforts. By partnering with government agencies and conservation organizations, these hatcheries help maintain balanced and thriving fish populations in Utah's waterways. They also contribute to the preservation of native fish species and the restoration of endangered or threatened aquatic species.
In addition to supporting fisheries management, private fish hatcheries in Utah also play a vital role in meeting the demand for fish for recreational fishing. By producing a variety of fish species, including trout, bass, and catfish, these hatcheries provide opportunities for anglers to enjoy fishing in Utah's lakes and rivers. This not only supports the state's tourism industry but also promotes outdoor recreation and conservation awareness.
Furthermore, Utah's private fish hatcheries contribute to the state's economy by providing employment opportunities and supporting related industries such as fishing equipment, tourism, and hospitality. The production and stocking of fish by these hatcheries also generate revenue for local businesses and communities that rely on recreational fishing activities.
The role of private fish hatcheries in Utah's aquaculture industry extends beyond simply producing fish for stocking. These facilities also play a part in research and education, collaborating with universities and research institutions to advance aquaculture practices, improve fish health, and develop sustainable aquaculture techniques.
In conclusion, Utah's private fish hatcheries are integral to the state's aquaculture industry. They support fisheries management, provide fish for recreational fishing, contribute to the economy, and engage in research and education efforts. The work of private fish hatcheries like Cover River Ranch demonstrates their commitment to sustainable aquaculture practices and the conservation of Utah's aquatic resources.

I’ve just become aware of fish stocking… and that it’s done by airplane ! ?!
How do the fish survive the fall?
How do they count 57,000 Muskellunge that are only 0.5 inches long?
I can’t tell what’s more amazing than me : air dropping 963 rainbow trout (10” each) or delivering 2,284,000 walleye to one location.
Just imagines government worker… 2,283,992…2,283,993… 2,283,994…*phone rings* …. Ummm… hmm. 1…2… 3…
it's called Airdrop Fish Stocking and while it's not the most common method of stocking fish, it's often used for areas where the target bodies of water are remote or lack infrastructure for large trucks!
and it's exactly what it sounds like, yeah.
no worries though, the stocked fish are small enough to survive the drop! just like how a mouse can survive a fall off a skyscraper, a small fish can survive a MUCH longer drop than you'd expect :)
they are absolutely having a very bad day about it, though.
just the worst.

A friend of mine used to build aquariums for rich people. Every day, he'd bumble on down to the office and start meticulously assembling some intricate sub-component of a whole-ass ecosystem. Once it was done, they'd fill his work with water, carry it away, and charge hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw some fish in it. I think his tale is a cautionary one.
My friend's reward for all this hard work and artistry was to get screwed. His boss wholly depended on his labour (building aquariums, stocking fish, laying out little plastic castles) but seized most of the gains for himself instead. Eventually, my friend quit, and went to work at a much better job selling cameras. Obviously, the moral of this story is that people who own fish are inherently untrustworthy.
To entrap fish in a box is to sin against nature. Fish live outdoors. If you want to see some, you can go by your local lake and watch seagulls pick them up out of the water. Stay all day, if you like. That fish would have no appreciation whatsoever if you were to, say, put a little animatronic diver in his tank, making bubbles that reflect the beautiful, subtle lighting of the arrangement.
Ever wondered about why the newspapers seem so in favour of rich people all the time? Think back to the name that hokey 1920s scam artists give them: "fishwrap." That's right. Newspapers have been in the pocket of Large Trout since time immemorial, all in the hopes that they can curry favour with their bemoneyed ichthyoid masters.
I have a lot of other anecdotal stories about friends who have been betrayed by fish, also. Did you ever wonder why Tokyo was forced to move its famed Tsukiji Fish Market? It certainly wasn't because of the smell. No, it was all about real estate. Those fish-bothering greedheads figured out that they were sitting on top of some primo, yet absolutely stinky, property. They decided to get rich, at the expense of their workers, who now have to haul enormous catches of fish to a different part of the bay. Once again, fish did this.

I hate hot food. For many reasons. I know a lot of Argonian meals are served cool/cold, but do the other races have meals intended to be the same way?
While not particularly common in some Provinces, chilled dishes can be found across Tamriel and are the perfect refreshment when hot food feels a little too weighty.
Altmer
Probably the Tamrielic masters of cold dishes, the High Elves are probably best known for their cold raw seafood dishes. Fresh fish, prawns, squid, octopus, sea urchin, and much more are sliced with a deft hand and served with wasabi and saltrice sauce. Sometimes, the seafood is placed atop rice and wrapped with a thin slice of nori to hold it together. While the idea of eating cold raw fish may not appeal to many, it's one of my favourite foods in Tamriel.
Argonians
Keeping clay or metal vessels submerged in water is an age-old Argonian technique of keeping their food cool, which is an absolute must in the hot and muggy climate of Black Marsh. Cold swamp jelly and seafood salad topped with grilled prawns and chilled marinated snails is a customary dish offered to visitors, and it's delightfully refreshing! The swamp jelly doesn't taste of much, but its soft, jelly-like texture complements the crunch of the seaweed.
Bosmer
Cold food isn't much of a thing for the Wood Elves, but one exception jumps to mind: the humble cottage cheese dip. Cottage cheese made from timber mammoth milk is aged in caves for two days, seasoned, and kept chilled. The dip is served cold with dried cured meats to dip with. It's not terribly exciting, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as eating meat and cheese in one bite!
Bretons
Chilled soufflés are all the rage in High Rock, and require lots of patience (and swearing) to master. Both sweet and savoury soufflés are served in this manner, from orange liqueur to parmesan and rosemary. My personal favourite is the chilled chili chocolate soufflé from the Rosy Lion in Daggerfall, part of their seasonal menu. The combination of rich dark cocoa with a touch of Alik'r spices is out of Nirn!
Dunmer
Chilled foods aren't an integral part of Dunmeri gastronomic culture, but certain Houses, namely the Telvanni, Hlaalu, and Redorans, do enjoy them. A Telvanni specialty is a cold chicken salad, where the chicken is marinated overnight in a blend of matcha, fire fern, saltrice sauce, and secret spices. It grilled and shredded, and served cold with hackle-lo leaves and gold kanet seeds atop steamed saltrice. However, don't let appearances fool you; any Telvanni with cold chicken salad leftovers can probably be found gobbling it at midnight straight from the cold cellar.
Imperials
The Gold Coast is famous for its chilled seafood soup, made with a creamy tomato and fish stock base, and loaded with all manner of fish and shellfish. While the hot variant from Bruma is more popular in colder climes, the cold seafood soup is a delightfully refreshing meal when beating the summer heat, especially when served with a mojito on the side.
Khajiit
If there's an excuse to make a food cold, the Khajiit will find it, and for good reason: the Deadlands-like heat of Elsweyr. Cold vegetable curries are a notable mention. Three or four small bowls of different curries, from mild okra to spicy potato, are served with moon sugar, saffron rice or tandoor flatbreads, and are meant to be eaten with your hands. I must say, though, that there's a rather jarring contrast between the cold curry and the searing heat you get from biting into a bird's eye chili.
Nords
Unlike the Khajiit, Nords look for any excuse to make food hot, with a couple of exceptions. Cold smoked salmon, mudcrab, or trout with dark rye bread is one of them. This rustic lunch dish is served with chilled horseradish cream, goat cheese, and fish roe topping, and is the perfect meal for when you want something filling that won't send you straight to sleep.
Orcs
Glass noodle salad is an Orcish delicacy said to have originated in Wrothgar in the early Second Era. The noodles, made from sweet potato starch, are thick and chewy, and are served chilled. To turn it into a salad, simply throw in some cold shredded daikon radish and carrots, sweet frost mirriam vinegar, peas, cold rare beef tongue slices, and fried chorizo. Easy and delicious, while packing lots of flavour!
Redguards
Cold foods are a welcome treat in Hammerfell, where the searing heat can be just as unbearable as Elsweyr's. Cold, pulled goat in a chilled tomato and harissa-based stew is eaten as a soup, and is a filling meal when mixed with bulgur or cous-cous. While it may sound and look a little like last night's disappointing leftovers, one bite of this on a Midyear day in the Alik'r will have you moaning with delight.

I'm trying to learn English by writing short texts on various topics. I'm writing them about Ghost, Soap and other COD characters. So, here is text about travel and rest (613 words).
“Hey, Captain, did you miss us?” Soap asked cheerfully, looking at Price.
“Honestly he didn’t.” Gaz answered and smirked snidely. “He said how quiet and calm it was without you two this whole week.”
“You’re a jerk!” Soap pouted. “It can’t be true!”
Captain Price sighed heavily and turned the page of the newspaper he was reading.
Ghost carried their backpacks to their rooms and came back to the dayroom. He started making tea for himself, Price and Garrick. Johnny didn’t like tea, so he made coffee for himself and grumbled something about fucking Brits.
“So where have you been?” The Captain asked, lighting his cigar.
“We traveled through the Carpathian Mountains by quad bikes.” Ghost said and sat opposite Price. “We stopped for the night and slept in a tent.”
“Wow, sex in nature is cool.” Garrick interrupted. “Hope you stocked up on wet wipes.”
“No need to be jealous, mate.” Soap sat next to Ghost and rested his head on his shoulder.
“Were you hunting?” Price asked because he was tired of hearing stupid jokes about personal life of his subordinates.
“Hell yeah!” Soap nodded and smiled. “And fishing! I caught a huge trout! And Simon cooked a gorgeous soup with mushrooms and grilled fish steaks.”
Johnny told how Simon and he were picking mushrooms and all his prey was poisonous. It was the first and the only time Ghost allowed Soap to pick mushrooms. Kyle was laughing a lot and Johnny kicked him once or twice.
“Where your route had started?” Price asked when the Sergeants calmed down.
“We flew to Slovakia by plane,” Ghost answered, drank his tea. “Then we rented quad bikes and went through it, Poland, Ukraine and Romania.”
“And Transylvania!” Soap interrupted.
“Did you see vampires?” Garrick smirked.
“No, but Johnny was attacked by a bat,” Ghost raised his balaclava and lit a cigarette. “It was at night when he left the tent. I was already asleep, but his screams and shots woke me up”.
“Soap, did you really shoot a bat?” Gaz stared at Johnny.
“Oh, fuck you, guys!” Soap got angry and pouted. “It was a bloody big bat! And very aggressive!”
“So did you kill it, son?” The Captain looked at Johnny with interest.
“Maybe,” he answered. “It was fucking dark there!”
Soap started showing photos and videos. There were a lot of beautiful pictures of nature; their camp with a comfortable tent, camp table and two fishing chairs; their food cooked by Ghost. Soap was in many photos and videos too. Price and Garrick saw how he was riding a quad bike, fishing, trying to help with cooking, jumping from the waterfall naked, even sleeping in the tent. Simon has much less photos and he was in his balaclava there.
“We have brought gifts for you!” Johnny smiled and ran to his room.
He came back very soon, carrying several packages. Price and Garrick received postcards from Slovakia, magnets from Poland, handmade leather wallets from Ukraine and vampire clay mugs from Transylvania.
“Now it’s your turn to go to leave,” Soap said to the Captain and Gaz. “Where will you go?”
“On the seaside,” Price answered. “I want just to lie in the sun, to swim in warm sea and to drink cocktails all week”.
“And I’ll go water skiing and spearfishing,” Kyle said.
“So you will go together too?” Simon asked, bowed his head.
“No, just at the same place,” Gaz answered quickly, and Soap smirked.
“Well, I’m going to sleep,” Ghost said and got up.
“Me too,” Soap smiled. “Good night!” They left together and Kyle got up to make another cup of tea for him and for the Captain.

Dsmp characters as fish because a special interest of mine is northeastern game fish 👍
c!Ranboo - Brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis)
Basically the loser of the fish community lmao. They are really sensitive to their surroundings. They need the water to be a certain pH and temperature in order to survive. They are migratory in order to fulfill those needs. They are also bullied by other fish (specifically brown trout) to the point where populations are dropping. They are one of the more timid and docile species of trout. They stick in small groups. They will become aggressive when feeding or defending their spawning nests. Brook trout also have some of the most unique and colorful patterns. Brook trout hybrids are common occurrences
c!Tommy - Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides)
Largemouth are the fish that is in everybody’s business. They are very much in your face all of the time. Simultaneously both very smart and very dumb. They commit to one spot to make their nest and will defend it fiercely. They are picky where they put their nest and spend a lot of time maintaining it to keep it in good condition. They typically will live in the same body of water and not migrate out, but will change depths depending on the seasons and where food is located.
c!Tubbo - Smallmouth Bass (Micropterus dolomieu)
Basically the Largemouth’s little brother. They are very similar but the smallmouth are typically smaller and bit more docile. They are also arguably a bit smarter than the largemouth as well. They are also very territorial and will defend their nests. Their nests are also well kept. When defending or hunting, they fight like a tank. Although smaller than the largemouth they pack a bigger punch. Smallmouth are also more cold tolerant than other fish.
c!Phil - Walleye (Sander vitreus)
Walleye remind me of crows. They have terrific eyesight, which is why they have big eyes. Their unique eyes allow them to hunt at night. They have one of the greater lifespans and can live to be a couple decades old. Walleye spend time in schools with members similar to them. They like to lurk in deeper cooler water. They are more active at night and more docile during the day. They become aggressive when seasons change and they have to stock up for the winter
c!Techno - Bullhead catfish (Ameiurus melas)
Bullhead are similar to walleye and live in similar conditions. They like cooler murky environments to reside in. They are docile if left alone. They will become predatory and territorial if provoked or feeding. They have venomous spines on their fins which hurt like a bitch if you get stung (not fatal). They scavenge more than hunt and scrounge around the bottom looking for food. They fight hard and hit hard. And once they have something they are very determined to not let it go
c!Wilbur - Brown Trout (Salmo trutta)
Brown trout are actually invasive and are not native to North America, they originate in parts of Europe and Asia. But they have now established themselves as part of the ecosystem. They compete with the native species and often pose a challenge. They are typically bigger than other trout species and their competitors get shoved around a bit. Browns are smart and cunning, and are very successful hunters. They are arguably the most territorial species of trout
c!Quackity - Musky (Esox masquinongy)
Easily one of, if not the smartest gamefish. They are nicknamed “the fish of ten thousand casts” because they are very picky and know how to differentiate lures from real bait fish. They are hard to catch. Muskies are ambush predators and will eat anything that fits into their mouth. This includes waterfowl, rodents, and frogs. They are elusive and like to stick to themselves. Musky are very dedicated to their territory and will fight any intruders out
Yay fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corpse Groom A welcome home AU
Corpse Groom
A welcome home AU
Au by @sketchquill, a story written by Tim Burton, characters created by Partycoffion, rewritten by Callisto
Author note: I make no claim to this au or the characters (besides the side ones I have made to fill in the background ). I grew up watching this movie, whenever it was my turn I would pop it in the DVD player and fall in love with the music that filled my ears. So why not put a spin on it and bring this au to life, plus it will give me practice in writing. Lord knows I need it XD.
this will just be a little opening to it so you can get a taste for it- kinda like dipping your toes into the water to see if you like it. a prologue
I should be about to post chapter two today and it def be way longer xd
I’ll be posting it here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48532249/chapters/122419276
So I bring you
The Corpse Groom
The air was still this morning, the sun's glorious rays tightly snugged away within blankets of gray clouds, giving the land below an eerie gray overcoat. For a land filled with life and plenty it held a great depression among many.
Times these days were tough, pockets that were once deep and bountiful now held only enough for a drink and a chunk of stale bread to fend off starvation for another day. Puppets were desperate for any chance to survive, some even turning to crime, others turning to stretch out their businesses in hopes that they could strike up deals with other towns to keep the flow of coin coming.
The Fishsion family were one of these business but no many how far they had reached nor begged they just couldn’t sink their hooks into another's wallet. It was surprising just how many did not want fish part of their brands! Oh, Mrs. Fishsion thought that their spin on fishnet stockings would really make it in the fashion industry. She could only guess young ladies didn’t find it appealing to wear nets on their legs with fish and hooks attached to them. How was she supposed to know that some of the fish were still alive when the model tried them on? The girl let out the most horrified scream when a trout began flapping about against her leg. It took nearly twenty minutes to calm her down enough, let alone to get her to stop running around the room, to remove the gosh darn thing. After that, they were tossed out on their bottoms along with the fish nets and other fashionable fish designs.
The future was looking ever so bad as their money was slowly draining away. They could not afford to go much longer without a way out of this!
That's when their attention was brought to their son, y/n. Of course, how could they have not thought about this before! Their son was a fine man and any woman or lad would be lucky to have him as a husband! Yes. yes, that’s it, they could marry him into money. They would be set for life! Didn’t the Ludiggains have an unwedded daughter? That family was more loaded with gold and gems then than they had ever been! The family hadn’t shown any sign of struggle during the depression meaning they must be doing just fine. Yes, this was perfect, all they had to do was convince them to set up an arranged marriage between their children.

Trout fishing for beginners on a budget!
Do you ever look at salmon fillets in the supermarket and water at the mouth but find the price far too high? Well this guide is for you! I tried to keep this guide fairly short and to the point so if you need more info, feel free to ask.
Reasons to fish for trout:
Trout taste quite similar to salmon, a fish that's typically unaffordable expensive even here in the PNW (I find trout to be better because they're much more mild and don't overcook as easily, ymmv)
They can be caught without a boat and you don't need an expensive set up.
Fishing licenses fund conservation!
It's fun and allows you to see where your dinner is coming from, from start to finish.
Before you start: Get your fishing license. You can purchase these at Walmart in the sporting good section, stores like Cabellas, online, and many other places. Some states have separate saltwater and freshwater licenses (you want freshwater), others may require a separate stamp to keep trout in some areas. Once you have your license, find a place you can fish. Check if it’s been stocked, when, what size the fish were, and how many. Bigger fish and more recent is always better. Regulations can very a lot from body of water to body of water and state to state. Some lakes may be catch and release only, no barbed hooks, etc and it is on you to know. There are also disabled only lakes (with wheelchair friendly docks). Your fish and wildlife department will have the info online. Some states, like WA, even have interactive map apps and you can always email or call them as well.
Gear on a budget: Rods and reels are expensive new, even low end ones. Check out garage sales, thrift shops, outlet malls, Craigslist, etc. You can often find a good rod and reel combo for cheap. Check to make sure all the parts are in order, things that spin will spin and things that don’t, don’t. Minor wear and tear can often be repaired with a dab of superglue. When buying second hand spools of line, make sure time and the sun hasn’t made it brittle, give it a test tug to see if it breaks. You’re less likely to find artificial bait and hooks used but luckily those are fairly cheap even new, and sometimes you get lucky.
Rod: 5-7′, rated for no more than 10lbs is perfect. It should be flexible to allow it to cast far and not snap when you get a fish on. Ideally your rod should split into two pieces for ease of storage.
Reel: We’re going to be talking about spinning reels and spinning reels only. You want a lighter weight one where the line comes off smoothly. Make sure everything spins as it should and doesn’t make noise (some older styled ones have an intentional clicking sound that will drive you up a wall very quickly, apparently that used to be cool). The side the arm is on can be changed easily.
Line: 8-10lb test, anything more is overkill and may scare the fish. Braided for the mainline, fluorocarbon or monofilament for the leader line. Mono can be used for the mainline too but braided is tougher/stronger. Good line is worth it, here’s what I use for my mainline. You want your reel full of line so it doesn’t catch on the reel and so you don’t hit the end while casting. I recommend a cheaper mono line to tie onto your reel for the first many feet to help fill it up, then tie on your good leader line to the mono line using a double uni knot.
A leader line is useful when you get a snag or a fish takes off with your gear, instead of losing all your line, you just lose your leader.
Hooks: Size 6-8 octopus, circle, or bait hooks. Barbed if legal and if you plan on eating what you catch, barbless if you plan on releasing or regulations require it.
Swivel: Medium/small sized, get snapping ones
Weight: Get egg sinkers in a variety of sizes (they often come in mixed size kits). Note: Most fishing weights are lead, do not consume them or allow pets/children to play with them. Steel weights are an option but they have less size/shape variety and will be bigger than their same weighted lead counterparts. Some places do not allow for the use of lead weights.
Bead: Used to prevent wear on the line/knot from the lead. I personally only use one on my leader line, not below my lead, and that’s my weird angler superstition. They’re very cheap, buy a smaller sized one if you plan on using them.
Net: Seems really self explanatory but I recommend a catch and release friendly net (not knotted, typically a softer material). It's better to have that kind than the kind that may damage their scales in case you need to or decide to release.
Slip/sliding sinker rig:
Ideal for floating bait, the leader line length will depend on the depth the fish will be at (which varies with weather and body of water, 2′ is a good starting point). The lead will sit on the bottom while the bait floats and suspends itself in the water column. The sliding egg sinker weight means the fish won’t feel resistance when it tugs on the bait, fish don’t like resistance. Watch for your line moving away, then set the hook with a quick upwards motion with the rod. Sometimes you won't even need to set the hook because the fish will already be running with it.
Fixed bobber rig:
This set up can be used with or without a leader line but as always I recommend a swivel + leader line (this would be below the bobber). This set up is ideal for sinking baits or when you need to keep all of your gear and line off the bottom of the lake because of weeds, snags, etc. Most bobbers allow you to easily change the length of line below it, useful if you started out with too much or too little line. Since bobbers float, they will move with the current or the wind, this may be a pain or may be a blessing. When the bobber goes down, fish on!
Bait options:
Earthworms/nightcrawlers. This is your cheapest option, you can dig them from your own yard for free. Earthworms sink so they’re best with a bobber set up unless you buy worm blower. I do not use live bait as I find it rather cruel (and most earthworms are not native to my area, no need to help them spread further) but ultimately it’s up to you. Crickets, superworms, mealworms. waxworms, etc are also options, some of which you can breed at home easily.
Fake worms: some float (1, 2), some don’t (1, 2). Don’t get those giant rubber worms meant for bass.
Dough: Ideal for slip sinker set up. Scented Playdo textured dough. Roll enough out to cover your hook and make it float, but not so much that it’s a waste. While this stuff works well, it doesn’t like to stay on the hook. Treble hooks will hold dough on better but they aren’t always allowed and are not suitable for catch and release (if that’s your goal). Also comes in nuggets (costs more per oz). I recommend pink, orange, or yellow.
Artificial eggs: Ideal for slip sinker set up . My preferred bait, I use 3 on a hook and often can reuse the same eggs for several trout. You don’t even need to buy these, they can often be scavenged from places where anglers gather. My mom did this (or used ones I bought) for months with great success. Power eggs and similar ones typically float but there are sinking ones, always check the label. I personally use red, white, or gold ones that are half clear but I’ve also caught them on solid yellow and pink. A family or group of friends could buy multiple colors and split them.
Trout Magnet(tm): Never personally had much luck with these, they can be recasted over and over as a lure or used under a bobber, they do sink. Also useful for panfish.
Lures: I’m not really going to go over lures much since that’s a whole other can of worms, but they are very reusable and can often be found for free in bushes at lakes. They require a different set up and more work to use than bait still fishing. Some do function under a bobber hence the mention.
Now to the actual fishing!
Set up your rig, whichever one you're planning on using, and adjust your leader line accordingly.
Hold the rod with your dominant hand, you want about a foot of mainline hanging off the tip of your rod
Align your line roller (labeled diagram of a reel here) to be pointing your rod.
Use the index (or if you're weird like me your middle) finger to hold the line against the rod
Use your non dominant hand to flip the bail up. Line can now freely fall from the reel so it's important to keep your finger on the line.
Bring the rod over your head, I personally have mine like this before casting. Use a forward throwing motion and release your line. The last step will take lots of practice and I personally recommend practicing at home with just a swivel + weight on. Always be aware of your surroundings, you don't want to hook someone or lose your gear in a tree.
When you feel a bite, set the hook with a quick upwards motion while holding the rod. Sometimes the fish will hook themselves just fine.
Once you have a fish on, reel in! Large fish may need a looser drag and to be played a bit (let them run with the line, then reel in, repeat until fish is tired) but most stocked trout come quietly.
Once you've reeled your fish in, use a net to catch it (if needed) and decide if you're going to release it or keep it for dinner. Fish you're planning on releasing need to be handled gently and with wet hands to protect their fishy coating. Don't take them out of water for too long. Remove the hook quickly with fishing pliers.
If you're going to keep it, it needs to be killed quickly and humanely. Please don't be that person with a bunch of half dead fish on a stringer, or letting your fish aspirate, it's cruel. How you kill your fish is up to you and will depend on the size. For smaller ones I do cervical dislocation, head bonking and cutting the head/spine also work. If I'm killing a fish I always wait until after to remove it's hook so it suffers less.
Cleaning your fish: Ok you have a dead fish, now what? Find the fish butt, it'll be before the tail fins. Insert your fillet knife in and carefully slice up the belly. Ideally you don't want to slice too far in lest you rupture the intestines. Remove the guts. I personally toss all the guts back into the water, as to return the nutrients but there are fish organs you can eat. Use a fingernail to scrape the kidney off of the spine and rinse. From there you can fillet or cook the fish whole. Here's the video that helped me learn to fillet. Keep fish on ice until you're home. They can be frozen, cooked immediately, or refrigerated for a few days.
I hope this guide helped you and as always, if you have questions feel free to ask!
