All this talk bout the Lumity kiss is bringing me back to when I first saw ruby and sapphire's marriage. It really helped me feel seen and like I could truly have a future as a sapphic person of color. 

Say what you want about either relationship, but these moments being aired on children’s television networks mean the world to questioning/lgbtq children. Tuning into a show mid-season on cartoon network or disney channel and seeing people that look like you and have the same feelings as you is just such an experience that’s so hard to put words to. 

I can’t wait for there to be a time when EVERY kid can flip to any channel they want and see someone they can relate to (if cable is still around lol). This is hopefully just the start of even more shows that can have a girl say she has a girlfriend, or a boy that says he’s gay (lookin at you benson ;D)

Random but we need more of this in shows please!!! I want people casually saying  gay/trans/lesbian/bisexual in media. Normalize saying gay.

I love shows like TOH and SPOP and SU for their representation, but I feel like saying gay really takes rep to another level. It makes the show and representation feel a heck of a lot more real, in my opinion. 

Also shoutout to Cyrus for being the first openly gay character in a Disney Channel show, and the first one to say gay in a Disney Channel show!! 

Do any of you got more instances of people saying gay/trans/lesbian/bi in television? :0 I’m sure I’ve missed a lot, please add more if you can think of any! (especially since we lacking in wlw and bisexual/m-spec content in this post smh)

I find the KATAOW episode Codeword Milkshake so funny because like. It’s always the og trio - Kipo, Wolf and Benson, accompanied by Dave and Mondu. That’s been that status quo for two seasons. But in this episode, it’s Kipo, Wolf and Benson...and Troy. Did Dahlia and Asher go? No. Not even Dave and Mondu went. And I love Troy, but there wasn’t any reason for him to go (I know he picked the lock but they didn’t know they needed to do that). Legit the only reason he went was because of how incredibly homosexual Benson is. I find this amusing.
